Hello Everyone! I am so excited to be a part of this community. This is my first story ever so it definitely has been a ride to get here. I would love to hear some feedback as I start publishing more chapters so I can improve my own writing. All that said, there are a few notes that should be made about the story so it makes more sense:

1. Azula and the other characters are about 4-5 years older in the story than they are in the show. In my mind, I have Azula as an 18-year-old so it can make more sense about her life and certain events.

2. As mentioned before, this is my first story and I am very new to the publishing side of fanfiction so any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated.

3. Finally, as much as it saddens me, I do not own any of the characters in the story except for Nakura and Hakan. Everyone else came from the wonderful imaginations of the Avatar creators

Anyway, here is the prologue for now. I will try my best to publish whenever classes are not taking up my time. Hope you enjoy the story!

Prologue:

She was panting as sweat traveled down her porcelain skin. Her eyes were blurry and her uneven bangs kept on getting in her way. All she can hear is her mother's voice lying about her love and every other one of her senses are just loud. Her brother is a few meters away about to make his next move but she can't allow that, won't allow it. Without even thinking she raises lightning filled fingers and points it at the water tribe peasant. Before she knew it, she saw her brother lifeless.

Azula woke up with a start, her chains rattling behind her and her handcuffs pinning her arms from doing anything. It has been three months since the Agni kai with her brother and she gets reminded of her humiliated defeat in her dreams. She looks up to see her mother, dressed as a proper Fire Lady, give her a look similar to sympathy and she growls. The four walls she's confined in the asylum doesn't make her mood any better and the ticking clock she hears makes her want to go and kill herself (with her brother as fire lord that moment may be coming up soon). With nothing to do she gets up and starts tracing the wall with her broken nails wondering about her doomed fate.
