Thank you to EmeraldYoukai for your review! I'm so glad you like my story! :D
And I want to apologize for taking a little while with this chapter! That writers block seems to still be creeping around.
I hope you all enjoy this messed up chapter! Some pretty big twists to come!
As I start to wake up I can feel already that something was off, I frown a little in confusion as I open my eyes and slowly sit up, frowning more seeing I'm alone as well as in a different Doctors room, I sigh softly and look down at my arm, pulling the sleeve back to look at the now finished tattoo of the bottle Fenric had been in-prisoned inside, as well as the watch now on minute 6.
'Half way through hour 3 already...' I sigh and get out of bed, changing into some comfortable joggers and a black sweater, pulling my hair up into a braid and pulling on my usual boots before heading out of our room and to the console room, finding it to be either the 9th or 10th Doctors, I smile softly, remembering my time with Nine recently.
I look around curiously seeing the place empty before I look to the ceiling "Good morning Sexy, any idea where he may be?" I ask, she hums warmly and the door opens, I smile and nod, patting the door as I step outside and close the door behind myself, as I turn I find myself in a white empty hallway, I frown a little in confusion.
'Ok...don't recognize any of this...' I head down the hallway cautiously, not seeing anyone yet, but I can see a large room at the end so I continue only to come out into a massive room with glass on the walls and ceiling, my eyes widening and heart sinking seeing where I am.
"Midnight..." I whisper in horror, I look around until I see someone walk past, I quickly get their attention and smile sheepishly "um, hi! Sorry to bother you, do you happen to know where the shuttle to the Saphire falls is?" I ask quickly and am directed in the right direction, I thank them and take off running, my heart in my throat as I look around myself.
I soon make it to an even larger room, the huge glass wall showing the shuttle and a few people were boarding already, I look around and soon find the Doctor talking on the phone with Donna, I hesitate, looking between the shuttle and the Doctor.
'I need to stop this...it has to stop, its too dangerous and too many people die...'
I take a deep breath before quickly walking over to the Doctor, I can't help but smile a little as he tries to convince Donna to join him.
"Oh, come on. They're boarding now" he urges, looking to the shuttle before panning his view around, looking as a few of the other passengers pass us before he meets my eyes, I smile softly and he beams at me, standing up straight and holding his free hand out for me to take, I hesitate for a moment which catches his attention before I take his hand, wanting to talk once he finished his call.
"It's not fun if I see it only with Rosie Rose. Four hours, thats all it'll take" he urges again, I smirk a little hearing Donna says.
"You and Rose, alone for four hours? Hmm, maybe I should come, just to make sure you don't get into trouble" I blush deeply and he chuckles a little, squeezing my hand softly.
"But really, go and enjoy it with Rose, I'd rather stay here and sunbathe, and anyways, I don't want to sit in a cramped space with you for four hours while you're bored, you remember what you did to the blender when you were locked in the kitchen for 15 minutes? It's now apart of the console" she says and I smirk a little and gently squeeze his hand back.
I can feel him gently knocking at the connection but I keep it closed for now, knowing if I opened up now he would feel my panic and probably scare Donna.
"Alright, you be careful then. That's extonic sunlight" he says seriously.
"Oh, I'm safe. It's says in the brochure this glass is 15 feet thick" she reply's, though from where I'm standing she sounds a little muffled.
"All right. I give up. We'll be back for dinner. We'll all try that antigravity restaurant, with bibs" he says, I giggle a little, trying to ignore the feeling of impending doom.
"That's a date. Well, not a date for us, more you two. Oh, you know what I mean. Oh get off" she sasses.
"See you later" he says but before he hangs up she says.
"IO, and you be careful, all right?"
"Nah! Taking a big space truck with a bunch of strangers across a diamond planet called Midnight? What could possi..." he gets interrupted as I slap my hand over his mouth quickly to stop him, my eyes wide as he looks down at me a bit shocked and confused, as well as concerned.
I just shake my head nervously and lower my hand, he hangs up the call and faces me fully now "Rose, what's going on? Why won't you open up?" He asks softly.
I hesitate, glancing at the shuttle then back to him nervously before I give in, opening the connection and I can see his eyes widen in concern as my waves of anxiety and fear hits him, he gently cups my cheek with his free hand, his other clutching my hand tightly.
"Love, what's wrong? What's happened?" He asks quickly, I shake my head a little, leaning into his touch as I try to stay as calm as possible.
"I don't think I can do this...I don't think I can let this happen" I murmur, he watches me closely, looking between my eyes to see unshed tears there, and I can feel his overwhelming concern.
"What do you mean? How can I help?" He asks, I sigh shakily and look to the shuttle again.
"I have to choose...I can stop this all now, or have you hate me later..." I whisper, he frowns more as I keep my eyes on the rest of the passengers boarding, he gently makes me face him again.
"I could never hate you, you know that" he says seriously, I shake my head nervously.
"You would if you knew what I know...I...I don't know what to do though..." I murmur, panic rising in me.
He quickly pulls me into a hug and I clutch onto him shakily as he wraps his arms around me protectively, softly kissing the top of my head.
"Rose, what...what happened in the episode?" He asks softly, my heart sinks more and I close my eyes shakily.
"People die...people I could save right now...but no one would take me seriously..." he sighs softly.
"Is there a way you can save them later on?" He asks, I hesitate before slowly nodding "yeah...but it would be harder, and more dangerous" I murmur nervously.
"Then we can do this, we can still save them, and not change too much, trust me" he murmurs softly, I tighten my grip on his coat shakily before sighing and nodding softly.
"Ok...but" I look up to meet his eyes, trying to seem as serious as possible, though I know there were still tears in my eyes "but you have to promise me here and now, you will listen to everything I tell you, no matter what, no matter what everyone else will say, no matter how stupid it is" I say seriously, he frowns a little but nods and leans his forehead to mine gently, pressing his mind to mine and sending me comfort and love.
I close my eyes and try to calm down, focusing on the sensation of him inside my mind before we pull apart, though he keeps a very tight hold on my hand, we board the truck/shuttle thing and take our seats, the Doctor using his psychic paper to get us in.
I take the window seat a little nervously, glancing at everyone else onboard before the Doctor gently squeezes my hand to get my attention, he's watching me with worried eyes, and I realize then that this was right after the Library, I relax a little and smile softly, gently squeezing his hand back.
"I'm sorry, I never even said hello" I say softly, leaning over and softly kissing him, smiling a little as I pull back, seeing his soft sad smile, I gently squeeze his hand again.
"I'm ok, its been a little while since the Library for me" I say softly, sensing him stiffen a little and I gently pull his hand up, softly pressing it to my neck as I meet his eyes, showing him I still have a pulse, and that I'm alright, he sighs and relaxes a little, gently taking my hand again and bringing it up, softly kissing my knuckles as he intertwines our fingers.
"Doesn't mean I won't worry" he murmurs, I nod a little "I know, but I just want you to remember that I'm right here" I say softly, stiffening a little as an older man and his younger assistant sit down behind us, I glance up in surprise as the hostess comes up and hands us all of the complimentary items, I smile softly at her.
"Thank you miss, what's your name?" I ask softly, she looks a bit shocked and the Doctor glances at me as I watch her "Rakie, and you're welcome" she says and smiles a little, I nod softly and smile wider at her.
"Then thank you Rakie" I say and lean back in my chair comfortably.
"And I must warn you that some products contain nuts" she says quickly, probably remembering she had to say it for insurance purposes.
"That'd be the peanuts" the Doctor says beside me, I roll my eyes and playfully smack his arm gently as she looks back at him.
"Enjoy your trip" she says, obviously a little fed up with her job right now.
"Oh, I can't wait. Allows-y" he says happily.
She pauses and looks back at him a little confused "I'm sorry?"
He then looks like an awkward teen as he responds "it's French, for 'lets go' " before smiling at her awkwardly.
I cover my mouth to cover my snickering as she says "fascinating" before moving on to serve the others, I don't listen to the people behind us as I smirk at the Doctor.
"You are so bad in social situations" I tease softly as he huffs.
"Am not, not as bad as you are, my love" he says, kissing my cheek, I blush a little and playfully glare at him, glad for the slight distraction.
"Alright. Now, I want you to tell me everything you can about this, you don't have to say any major spoilers, just anything to help" he says softly, I sigh softly as I think.
"Um...ok, you need to not go on any rants...and in a few minutes I want your screwdriver" I explain, coming up with a sort of plan as he looks at me confused.
"I can't say any more than that, please just trust me" I plead, he sighs softly and nods, squeezing my hand softly.
"I trust you, but once this is all over I want you to explain to me what really happened in the episode, even if you change it here" he says softly, I nod nervously and glance around, the Doctor looks back to see the man behind us and the man introduces himself as Professor Winfold Hobbes, my heart sinks a little, that man always made me angry in the episode, he was too...well, human I suppose.
I zone back in to the Doctor talking to him happily, introducing himself and me "I'm the Doctor and this is my wife...um, girlfriend, Rose" he explains, glancing back to me and I smile a little and shake my head, putting on my best smile to Hobbes.
"Wife, sorry professor, we are a little...complicated" I explain, the man simply nods, not paying me much mind, he shakes the Doctor's hand.
"My 14th time" Hobbes explains.
"Oh, our first" the Doctor replies, I readjust myself in my chair, setting the things onto the floor under my chair and turning back to the others, smiling a little at Dee Dee as she introduces herself to us, shaking our hands before Hobbes says.
"Don't bother the couple" I give him a slight glare.
"She wasn't bothering any of us sir" I say a bit sharply before smiling at Dee Dee again softly.
They both sit back down and I look to the Doctor, smiling a little and sitting back down, I could feel his eyes on me as he glances down my let hand, not seeing a ring yet.
"We aren't married for me yet, but it's going to happen, and it's much easier to just say wife for me now, trying to explain it all is a hassle" I explain softly, smiling up at him gently, he smiles a little and nods, leaning over and kissing my cheek softly.
I take his hand again and glance over toward Sky as the Doctor looks around, a shiver running up my spine, but if I could do this right, she could survive, and maybe not even get possessed.
I close my eyes and try to relax back into the slightly uncomfortable chair, feeling the Doctor press his mind to my own in comfort, I smile more and press back, tightening my hold on his hand softly, trying to ignore the other people in the area until Rakie the hostess walks up to the front, I let go of the Doctors hand as we buckle up as she instructs.
I start to zone out, ignoring as she gives her before trip speech, the music and lights and shows coming on, but I ignore them for now, going over my plan in my head over and over.
'Ok, first I have to get the Doctors sonic once he disables all of this, then once we are stopped I will go up with him into the cockpit and once they explain everything I won't let them look outside, just in case, and then I'll use the sonic as a makeshift weapon, hopefully the Doctor wont stop me, I'll get the pilot and mechanic out of the cockpit and in here, that way they survive, then I will need to calm everyone down, especially Sky...'
I glance over to her then space out again.
'I may be able to stop it from possessing her then, and that would stop the whole 'throw the Doctor out' thing, but...if I can't stop it from taking her, I will explain that everyone needs to be silent while we wait for the emergency rescue, I'll use the sonic again to threaten them to shut up, maybe that could work, even if I get into trouble I can at least save almost everyone, I could save three extra lives...'
I come out of my thoughts to hear the Doctor using his sonic, I smile a little and glance around, seeing everyone happy for the noise to be gone, though the poor hostess was not happy, before the Doctor can put his sonic away I gently grab it and stuff it into my sweatshirt pocket, he gives me an odd look but I just shake my head softly.
He brushes it off, knowing how nervous I am about this adventure, he gently lays his hand on my leg comfortingly, leaning over and kissing my cheek softly before he gets up to talk with everyone around us happily, I smile a little as I watch him go, but I can't shake the sick feeling in my stomach, the Doctor keeps his mind close to mine, pressing every now and then as he talks with everyone.
I stay in my seat quietly, pulling out my phone I get an idea, I send a text, unsure if it would work, but I smile softly as it does, and only a few minutes later I get a response.
'Hey short stuff, what's up?' I smile at Jacks nickname for me before I respond.
'Just need some distraction, sorry if your busy' I reply.
'What's up? Is something wrong? Has the Doctor done something stupid?' He asks quickly, I snicker a little.
'Thankfully no, I'm just...not going to enjoy this particular adventure, and I wanted to talk to someone without worrying about slipping up and spoiling anything'
'Then tell me what you're worried about, no need to avoid the facts with me' he says, I relax back into my chair quietly.
'A lot of bad stuff is about to happen, we are on the planet Midnight, on a shuttle heading to see the sapphire waterfalls, but we won't ever make it, we will soon be stopped and attack by...I don't even know what, an entity of some kind, and it...it kills the two drivers and two others later on once it gets inside here...and I am honestly terrified, but I can't tell the Doctor' I reply, so glad to have someone I can talk to about it all.
It takes him a moment to respond 'shit, do I need to come and intervene? I can probably get some help to come and scare off what ever it is'
I shake my head a little and reply quickly 'no way, too dangerous, I can't let you near it, if it possessed you it could never die, and I have no idea of any way to get it out of someone, we'll be fine...I have a bit of a plan, though its a little bit of a shit plan...'
He sends a grumpy face emoji before saying 'is there anything I can do? Maybe just help flesh out your plan?' He asks, I pause for a moment and glance to the Doctor happily talking with the others, I get an idea and look back to my phone.
'Is there any possible way to send me something? Like you could lock onto my phone and teleport here maybe...?'
'Why? Rose you said I shouldn't come' he replies, I sigh softly.
'Because you could bring me a gun...'
There's a few moments before he responds 'is it that serious?'
I nod a little 'it is, I'm not going to use it, but I have to have some way of...of threatening someone...and making people listen to me, and I know the Doctor will be pissed, but he'll be angry either way, and if I have a gun people will listen to me more, I could save hopefully 4 lives! I don't want anyone to die today'
'...fine...but if the Doctor asks don't tell him you got it from me, he'd probably kill me multiple times, now find a place to hide' he says, I nod a little to myself and stand, quickly shoving my phone into my pocket, the Doctor looks over and I smile at him softly before heading for the bathroom in the back quickly, kissing his cheek as I pass, not wanting to draw any suspicion from him.
I get into the small bathroom and grimace a little before locking the door and pulling my phone out again 'ok, safe now, just be careful, tiny room' I text.
My heart was racing but I keep myself calm, making sure the Doctor doesn't suspect a thing yet, I wait a few moments before there is a loud zap and none other than Captain Jack Harkness is standing right in front of me in the cramped space, he smirks down at me.
"Well fancy meeting you here" he jokes, I gently smack his chest but smile up at him, glad everyone outside was talking loudly.
"It's good to see you Jack, and thank you, I wish you could stay and help, but the Doctor would be pissed" I say softly before he pulls me into a hug, I giggle and hug back gently before pulling back, he pulls out a small laser pistol, I gulp and sigh.
"I hate guns..." I mumble and gently take it, he smirks softly.
"I know, but I made sure there was only one full battery charge in it, and it has a stun setting, so it will die in a good day or so if not charged, and I've also taken the liberty of putting a perception filter on it, no one but you will notice it until you need it" he explains, showing me a small metal disk attached to the side of it, I nod, keeping it held gently, my finger no where near the trigger.
"Ok..." I murmur, he smiles gently.
"Hey, it will be ok, you don't mean to actually hurt anyone, and once this is all over with I want you to text me again, ok?" He says and I nod, turning the guns safety on quickly and setting it into my pocket, glad it was fairly small.
I look back up to Jack and smile gently "again, thank you, after this is all done I owe you one" he smirks and nods.
"Ya you do short stuff, I want a good dinner, and a drink afterwords" he says, holding his vortex manipulator up as he puts in new cords, I smile more and nod.
"I think I can do that, be safe" I say softly, he smiles widely and salutes me before he disappears in a zap of light, I sigh shakily and lean against the wall, rubbing my hand down my face as I try to calm down.
I jump as there is a knock on the door, I look to it worriedly before I flush the toilet and wash my hands, just for show, then I open the door and smile softly seeing Jethro standing there nervously.
"Um, your husband asked me to come check on you" he says nervously, I smile gently and nod.
"Thank you, I'm alright, go ahead and get back to your music" I say softly, gently patting his arm as I pass, seeing him relax and head back to his seat, I return to my seat a little nervous, but very glad for the perception filter on the gun, I take out the sonic and just look it over curiously, it always amazed me how he was able to read so much without it having a screen.
"How do you work..." I whisper as I slide the sonic up and more open, gently looking it over before I jump as the Doctor flops down into his seat next to me, smiling at me softly, I blush a little and close the sonic, holding it out to him and smiling gently.
"Sorry, probably should have asked before I started looking it over" I say softly, he gently takes it and smiles softly.
"No need to apologize, I'm assuming you've never actually used it before" he says, watching me as he keeps it held up, I nod softly.
"I think I've only really used it once or twice before" I say softly, he nods and holds it out to me.
"Want to try it then? Learn how to use it properly?" I stare at him in curious surprise.
"You want to teach me to use it?" I ask.
He smirks at my shocked expression and leans closer, gently pecking my lips before nodding "of course. My wife should know how to use it" he says, I blush deeply and have trouble making eye contact with him.
He chuckles softly and kisses my forehead "come on, its easy, its a psychic device, hold it and think of what you want it to do, then press the button" he says, handing it to me, I gently take it and frown a little.
"What should I ask it to do?" I ask uncertainly, he pauses and looks around then back to me.
"Why not scan me" he says, I nod uncertainly and point it at him.
'Ok, think, scan the Doctor, scan and show me his species' I think, pressing down the button and the familiar sound whirs to life.
He smiles and once I stop he moves over closer "ok, now look closely at its side, being closer it can send you the information directly to your mind, like a psychic download" he explains, I nod again and hold the sonic up close to my face, looking it over before I gasp softly, a steady stream of words and information streaming into my head, I close my eyes to focus on it, seeing it explaining what he is.
I smile and open my eyes, lowering the sonic and looking at him excitedly "that is so cool! I've always wondered how you got info from it" I say, looking down at the device in my hand happily, I hand it back to him and he puts it away in his coats inside pocket happily.
"You've always been good with anything psychic, you were born with it, so anything psychic around you has an easier time communicating with you" he explains, I watch him curiously.
"Really? I never really noticed much of it" I say, he nods softly as he watches me, smiling softly.
"It's why our bond is so strong, even early on, why you love me being a touch telepath, it works well with your own telepathic and psychic levels, think of it like you can constantly hear a sound, its always there, though its quiet, but once you touch someone or something else that is even a little bit psychic, the sounds get louder and you can hear things you couldn't before" he explains, all be it badly.
I nod a little "ok, so...me having this low level, means I can use the sonic better than some? What about the Tardis?" I ask curiously, he nods.
"Pretty much, and you know how she often knows what you are thinking? She can sense your telepathic field and uses what she learns from it to help you, like at night when she turns the lights off when we get to sleep, she waits to see when we want them off then she does so for us" he explains more, I nod again as I lean back in my chair.
"Seems reasonable...but I don't think I had any of this before coming here, I was just an ordinary human back home" I say softly, he smiles gently and shakes his head, taking my hand in his.
"No you weren't, you wouldn't be here if you were, think about it, you told me my life was a show, but you still cared for me, even if in your world I wasn't real, I think our bond started then, way before you even came here" he says softly, I frown a little and look down at our joined hands.
"I...I don't think so...there are millions back in my world who would want to meet you, who love you, just as I do, but none of them are here" I say, confused and a bit sad now, he shakes his head and gently makes me face him again, looking into my eyes seriously.
"Then why are you here and they aren't? If you were ever a normal human, than how did you come to this universe? How did you find me so easily when coming here? no, I don't believe you were ever truly human, you must have known it, somehow, subconsciously, and when you found that show you saw your true home, your true world, which is why you loved it so much" he says matter a factly, I stare at him in shock, trying to run over it all in my head.
"But...but I've always been human...the tests were all normal back in my old world when I would go to doctors offices..." I murmur.
He smiles gently, knowing this was all a lot to take in "then tell me about your temperature? You're warmer than most humans, even if its just by a tiny bit, and you were sick your whole life, often bed ridden" he says softly, I frown a little, remembering my years of just being sick for months on end.
"You weren't meant for that world, your body tried to cope but it couldn't really, even your times of the month, always extremely painful and long, correct?" He asks, I nod hesitantly.
"Your body was meant for this world, and as it was in another it tried to mimic what it thought you'd be like there, but that only make it tired and warn out" he explains "even your joints, you've told me in the past you got a degenerative joint disease from your fathers side, but that was only your body trying to keep up in that world" he says softly.
I stare at him, my heart racing and I could feel him pressing his mind to mine, but I could tell he was hiding something, something he knew and wouldn't tell me, I could feel it in his mind, like he closed and locked a door, I watch him nervously before sighing softly and looking away, not bothering to push the issuer for now.
"How can that all be true...? I mean I know now that I am not fully human, but the scans I've seen say I'm sort of human...well...like I'm flickering between a human and something else...but couldn't that just be from me now being in a new world?" I ask.
He smiles sadly and gently pulls my hand up, kissing my knuckles softly as he sees how worried and confused I was.
"We still don't really know, I'm sorry, but I'm working on it, I have been for centuries now" he says softly, I sigh softly but nod, smiling a little at him.
"Ok...thank you, I'm sorry if my questions are a little annoying" I say softly, but he quickly shakes his head.
"I can't think of a single time where your questions were annoying" he says, I snicker softly.
"Now that I know is an outright lie" I say and he laughs softly.
"Ok, most of your questions aren't annoying" he corrects, I smirk more.
"Now that sounds like a challenge, now I'm going to ask stupid questions just to annoy you" I joke and he groans dramatically.
"Shoot me now" he jokes, I smile softly but my stomach drops a little, remembering the gun, I gently squeeze his hand softly.
"I think I'm going to try and get a little rest, go and talk with someone to keep yourself from going stir crazy" I say softly, leaning over and kissing his cheek softly, he smiles softly.
"Are you sure? I can stay here and let you rest against me" he says softly, I nod softly.
"I'm sure, I don't want you to die of boredom" I say and he smiles softly, letting go of my hand as he stands, I lean back in my chair more, leaning against the wall a little as he pulls out his long brown coat and gently lays it over me, I smile gently and gently grab his hand to stop him, pulling him down into a soft kiss.
"Thank you hun" I murmur softly and he beams down at me, kissing my forehead before wandering off happily, I smile a little and curl up under his coat, sighing comfortably, his scent surrounding me as I close my eyes.
I did really want to rest, but I was so nervous, though I make sure the Doctor doesn't feel any of it.
It seems I did actually fall asleep, not waking until I'm jostled around in my chair, I open my eyes blearily and look around, it seemed everyone had been watching the professor talk about Midnight before we stopped, the whole shuttle shaking as it slows.
I sigh softly 'looks like its nearly showtime...'
I stretch out a little as everyone looks around confused.
"Have we stopped?" Asks the mother in the red sweater, I sit up more and gently take the Doctor's coat off me, folding it gently and setting it back on his seat, my hands shaking slightly as everyone looks around.
I ignore as everyone continues to talk, everyone bickering a little now, I shake my head and look to the Doctor for a moment before he walks up to the cockpit, I gulp and stand quickly as he shows Rakie, the hostess, his psychic paper, I follow him as he hits the button to open the door, stepping up into the cockpit, I follow him closely, sticking my hands in my pockets as I go.
'you're not supposed to be in there" she calls but we ignore her as the Doctor leans down, leaning both arms on the chairs of the driver and mechanic, showing them the paper as well.
"Sorry. If you could return to your seats, sir and ma'am" the driver says, but the Doctor talks over the last bit.
"Company insurance, and she's my wife. Let's see if we can get an early assessment. So what's the problem, Driver Joe?" He asks, putting the paper away in his back pocket, I watch nervously from the back.
"We're stabilizing the engine feed. Won't take long" he explains.
"Um, no, because that's the engine feed" the Doctor says, pointing to one of the screens "that line there, and it's fine. And its a micropetrol engine, so stabilizing doesn't make sense, does it? Sorry, I'm the Doctor, my wife Rose. We're very clever. So what's wrong?" He asks, I blush a little at that but stay quiet, just nodding as Joe looks back at me.
"We've just stopped. Look, all systems fine. Everything's working, but we're not moving" the mechanic says, the Doctor pulling out his sonic and sonicing the whole front panel in front of the men.
"Yeah, you're right. No faults. And who are you?" He asks.
"Claude. I'm the mechanic, trainee" Claude says, smiling a little.
"Nice to meet you" the Doctor says.
"I've sent a distress signal. They should dispatch a rescuer truck, top speed" Joe explains.
"How long until they get here?" The Doctor asks.
"An hour" I say before the driver can, Joe glances back to me a little surprised but I just look away.
The Doctor gives me a glance then looks forward again "well, since we're waiting, should we take a look outside?" He asks and my heart drops.
"No!" I gasp, lunging forward quickly and grabbing his arm tightly "no, we will not look outside" I say sternly as he gives me an odd look, but realization seems to dawn on him a little and he sighs, nodding a little as the other two look at us confused.
I realize now is the time, I have to get them out of the cockpit now before the thing reaches us, I step back, my heart racing in my chest as I let go of the Doctors arm, I step back a few feet as the Doctor watches me worriedly, sensing my increased heart rate and fear.
I meet his eyes for a moment shakily before looking away, I couldn't look at him, I'd break down and many people could die because of it, I reach into my pocket, pulling out the gun and the Doctors eyes widen in horror, I look to the other two men as they stare in fear, I raise the gun and the Doctor instantly moves in front of it to keep them out of harms way.
"Rose! What on earth are you doing?!" He snaps, I try to keep my hands still as I watch the now terrified man behind them.
"What I have to...you promised" I say shakily, looking up to his eyes now, pleading with him to understand, but his eyes had darkened once he saw the gun, I could feel the anger flowing off him so I close the connection quickly, seeing him physically flinch at it as he stares at me in shock.
"Please...Doctor, I have to do this" I say before looking to the men behind him "now, I want you all to get up, and go into the back, right now" I say seriously, glad my voice had calmed a little as I give the order.
The men look to each other in fear then up to the Doctor who had now taken a step toward me, raising his hands "Rose, put the gun down, we can do this another way" he says seriously, I shake my head and glare up at him.
"No, no we can't, you said you trusted me, and you promised to do as I said" I say seriously and he returns the glare, making my blood run cold at the anger in his eyes.
"I trusted you before you held a gun to my chest" he snaps, my heart sinking sadly.
"You are in the way, I am not threatening you" I say seriously, he takes another step forward.
"Then put the gun down, this isn't you, and you know it. Let me help, just put the gun down" he says seriously
"I can't, you know I can't tell you" I say seriously before I remember the stun setting, my heart sinking, knowing he would be so angry later, but if I didn't stun him now he would get the gun away and everything would go wrong, I use my thumb on the gun to flip it to the stun setting, my heart racing and I meet his eyes shakily, tears in my eyes now.
"I'm sorry" I murmur before pulling the trigger, the stun bolt hitting him square in the chest, his eyes widen in shock and horror before he stumbles back and falls to the ground, unconscious, I whimper shakily, my hands shaking badly now but I look up to the two horrified men.
"Come on, now" I say loudly, motioning for them to go to the door "and carefully bring him with us" I say seriously, they slowly get up, keeping their hands in plain view before carefully picking up the Doctor and they head for the door as I keep the gun trained on them, they open the door and we can hear gasps as they step out, gently laying the Doctor into one of the seats.
I step out, keeping the gun raised as the door behind me closes, everyone stands and the mother screams, her husband pulling her back in a panic, I glance to them sadly, then I look to the driver and mechanic.
"Sit down, in the back" I say seriously, they do as I tell them quickly, and I can see the hostess in the back, watching on in horror.
I gulp and look down to my right at Sky, who's looking up at me with the most fearful eyes I have ever seen, my heart sinking as I realize they all think I've killed the Doctor, and see me as a monster, but I try to keep my cool.
'The real monster is still outside...I have to make sure everyone listens to me' I look back out at everyone.
"This shuttle is now under my command, I would like you all to sit down and shut up" I snap seriously, they all slowly sit down, watching the gun in my hand fearfully, to my surprise Sky beside me jumps from her seat and tries to grab the gun, I spin us around almost by accident, holding her arm tightly now as I press her to the wall, the gun pressed to her stomach as I look into her terrified eyes.
"I'm not going to shoot anyone, I'm trying to save all of our lives" I whisper to the shaking woman, my own hands shaking a little as she watches me fearfully.
"Please trust me, I haven't killed the Doctor, he's just asleep, you can check him in a moment, but please, just listen to me, I don't want anyone to die today" I whisper, she doesn't look convinced but shakily nods, I let her go and she slowly creeps past me nervously toward the Doctor, quickly going and checking on him to confirm he is still alive.
I look back to everyone else, they're all watching on in fear, I glance over every face, stopping on poor Jethro's last, frowning a little at the fear in his eyes, I sigh softly.
"What are you going to do to us? Use us for ransom? You won't get any" Snaps the professor, I sigh softly, shaking my head.
"No, I don't want money, lets just say I'm doing this for a friend" I say seriously, he glares at me angrily.
"And what friend is that then? Someone who hates us? Or could this be a sort of gang initiation?" He asks snobbishly.
"None of the above, I don't want money, or power, or anything for myself, now I wan't everyone to be quiet until the rescuer ship arrives" I say seriously, he goes to speak but I raise the gun, pointing it at him seriously.
"Shhh, no talking of any kind" I say seriously.
Everyone falls silent in fear as they keep their eyes on me, I stay near the door to the cockpit, my heart racing the whole time, but after about 2 minutes it starts, two loud bangs sound against the outer wall of the shuttle, everyone stiffens and looks over toward it worriedly.
I gulp and glance to the still unconscious Doctor, Sky still kneeling next to him nervously, then I look to the wall the sound came from.
"I want everyone to be silent" I say seriously, the mother looks to me with wide fearful eyes.
"You know what's out there" she says in fear, I shake my head.
"No, just keep quiet" I say but she was starting to get frantic.
"No! You set this up! You know what's out there!" She screeches, the professor watching before he pipes up.
"Nothings out there, there can't be anything out there" he insists.
The hostess looks to everyone else worriedly "please stay calm everyone, its probably just rocks falling against the side of the truck" she insists, glancing to me wearily.
Then the pounding comes from the other side of the room to my left, Sky stands and quickly goes past me shakily, back to her seat in fear of the sound near her.
I glance to her as she passes 'have to keep her calm...'
I look back to the sound again as I can hear people around whispering in fear "everyone keep quiet, now" I snap loudly, making sure everyone can hear me,
But they don't heed my warning, starting to talk and try to talk out what it could be, my heart sinks in worry as I look to everyone, trying to seem angry "shut it!" I yell.
"Why should we listen to you? If we are going to die what does it matter what way?" Asks the mother.
"Because, right now, I am the one holding a gun, meaning I am the only one who can fight this thing outside" I snap, knowing it was a lie, I couldn't fight it even if I wanted to, but that seems to shut her up for the moment, I glance to my left to see the Doctor starting to stir, my heart plummeting in fear now.
I step forward quickly and grab the sonic from his pocket, stuffing it into my own before moving back to my spot in front of the cockpit door, knowing if he had it he would try and shut down my gun.
"What...what's happened...?" He grumbles, sounding dazed, my heart sinking more, Dee Dee moves up to sit next to him worriedly, grabbing his arm to keep him in his seat as he comes to, looking up at me confused before his eyes land on the gun, I gulp but keep a neutral look on my face as he looks up to meet my eyes, I stay guarded but its hard when I see the heartbreak in his eyes.
"Don't move" I warn seriously to him "I won't hesitate to shoot again" I say before there is more knocking, he looks up and around and I look to see the others starting to panic more, yelling and asking what was outside.
"What the hell is making that noise!?" asks Sky in fear.
"I'm sorry, but the light out there is extonic. That means it would destroy any living thing in a split second" professor Hobbes states, I shake my head.
"Ya, well, something is out there, someone that lives outside the laws of nature we know" I say seriously, interrupting him, noticing the Doctor reaching for his sonic but he looks to me again when he doesn't find it, I keep my eyes on the other passengers.
"Now everyone..." I'm interrupted now by the loud banging near the back of the shuttle, Jethro jumping to his feet and away from the wall, but I see him glance to me in fear but I just gently nod for him to move and he relaxes just a little.
I look to the back wall as everyone is silent for a moment, then the two bangs sound from the back wall, just as I expected, then the back door, then it starts to rattle at the door, trying to open it from the outside, causing the women in here to scream or whimper in fear, I gulp and raise the gun toward the door, I know it wouldn't get it through there, but I can never be too careful.
"It's trying the door!" The mother gasps in fear.
"There is no 'it' there's nothing out there. Can't be" insists Hobbes, I look to him angrily.
"Hobbes, would you kindly shut up?" I snap and he closes his mouth, looking nervous, I can now feel the Doctor knocking on the door to my mind, frantic and fearful, I keep it closed tight, I couldn't let him get in, he'd stop me, and that would cost lives.
I look back to the back door just as the driver looks up toward me in fear "can...can we move?" He pleads, I sigh and nod, motioning for them to move and both Joe and Claude jump to their feet and away from the back of the shuttle.
The door continues to be messed with for a moment more before there's two thunderous bangs from above us, the others ducking down in their seats and gasping in fear, the lights flickering just a little.
Then pounding comes from the right middle door, scaring the parents and making everyone jump again.
"Everyone, sit down, now" I say seriously "only on the aisle seats or on the floor in the walkway" I say seriously, the Doctor hadn't taken his eyes off me but I avoid his gaze, knowing I'd probably break down if I didn't.
They all look to me fearfully "can it get in?" Asks the mother, I shake my head but Dee Dee speaks first "no, that doors on 200 weight hydraulics"
They don't follow my instructions of sitting down and I see the father, Biff as his wife calls him, walking up to the door, placing his hands on it carefully to make sure it couldn't be opened, I raise the gun toward him as his wife pleads with him to step back.
"Sir, you have one warning, get away from that door, now" I snap but he ignores me.
"Cast iron door..." he says before knocking against it three times, I curse and just a moment later the thing bangs back, causing everyone inside to absolutely panic.
"Three times...did you hear that? It did it three times" the mother says in fear.
"Everyone, as I said, get away from the doors and walls, now" I snap angrily.
Sky looks to me, her hands shaking, her eyes wide in horror and fear "no, but it answered. It answered" she says shakily, I nod as I watch her, hesitating before I lay a gentle hand on her shoulder.
"I know, but we need to stay calm and quiet" I say seriously as she watches me with wide eyes.
"But...that thing answered, don't tell me it's not alive. It answered him" she says shakily, her voice raising in fear.
I see Rakie quickly move to the front of the group, her eyes flickering to me in fear but I nod then she looks to the others shakily.
"I really must insist you all return to your seats, as she said" she pleads.
"No, don't just stand there telling us the rules and what to do!" Screams Sky "you're the hostess! You're supposed to do something!"
I gently turn Sky around, not noticing the Doctor had stood to join the others now, and as I look Sky in the eyes seriously he goes to the door.
"Sky, you need to calm down right now" I say seriously as she stares at me in fear.
"No! You should just kill us all and get this over with!" She screams in fear, my heart sinking more and more now.
I jump and look back to the group as the Doctor bangs four times on the door.
"Shit...Doctor!" I snap angrily and he glares toward me, everyone else watching him in fear.
Then the thing outside answers, banging back four times as well, causing only more panic.
"What the hell's making that noise?" Demands a terrified Sky "she said she'd get me. Stop it! Make it stop! Make it all stop! Don't stand there looking at me! It's not my fault. She started all of this!" She yells, looking to me as the others try to get her to calm down, my hands are shaking badly at this point as the fear was overwhelming, stifling in the room, like a thick invisible smoke.
Sky then turns to the Doctor angrily "and you! Why couldn't you leave it alone!? Stop staring at me!" She yells "somebody just tell me what the hell it is!" She screams as Dee Dee tries to tell her to calm down, the others yelling about rescue on its way, then everyone goes silent as the bangs start overhead, moving toward Sky as she looks up at the ceiling in terror, backing away from the others back toward me.
My heart drops into the pit of my stomach as she backs towards her seat, I move to the other row on the other side of the walkway, my heart sinking as the sounds continue to follow Sky "it's coming for me...it's coming for me!" She repeats in fear as she backs away, staring at the ceiling and continuing her rant, the Doctor tries to grab her away from the sounds but it was too late, the entire shuttle starts shaking violently.
I fall into a seat and grab on for dear life as the entire thing shakes back and fourth, the lights flickering badly and sparks flying from everywhere as everyone is flung around the cabin, I cover my eyes as the others around me scream in fear and my heart sinks more hearing the Doctor yell my name once in the chaos.
After a few moments it slows to a stop, the lights dim and people shaking and gasping for breath, trying to calm their fear as I stand quickly, keeping my gun now trained on Sky as she crouches down on the floor, her head in her hands and the seats behind her ripped up and thrown back, and the massive dent in the wall above her.
'I couldn't save her...'
"I'm so sorry Sky..."
What did you all think of this? I wanted to mix it up a little, and adding Jack always seems to be a good idea :)
Thank you all so much for reading, I love every single one of you!
Drink your water and get good sleep!
