Alright! To start this off I want to say I am so excited about this story! I came up with it after a dream and I am hoping you all enjoy! I will be posting pictures of things and places I talk about in these chapters, on my twitter.

And please don't steal this! (But if you wanna use it as inspiration please just ask!)

I hope you all enjoy this story! It will span several chapters and I am so excited to get to it!

Now onto the responses!

To ascab: I do live in WA! Have all my life and I love this state. Thank you!

To Artemis Sherwood: I'm so glad you liked it! I had so much fun writing that scene, I've always loved 3 so much, and he's so much fun to write! And there will be more of Rosie's past coming up in the future!

To SerahSanguine: wasps and hornets really are the meanest! Though I've found honey and bumble bees are nearly harmless! I can go up and just pick one up gently and they are just happy to chill :)

To Diving in: there will be more 1 and 2 soon! And I'm not sure about 13 yet but it's possible in the future! Though if I do have 13 I'm going to make them gender-bent.

Also! Before going into this, I want to warn everyone that there will be slight body horror, as well as POV changes!

Alright, onto the story!

The Beasts of Chimera.

The first thing I notice as I start to wake is the coolness around myself, I frown and slowly try to open my eyes, only to quickly close them and groan as blinding lights are above me, I try to reach up to cover my eyes only to feel cold metal around my wrists, holding them close together and connected to what ever I am lying on, I frown more and my heart starts to race, I open my eyes again and manage to get used to the light slowly.

My eyes widen as I look around, slowly I manage to sit up, even as my back and legs protest, I brush a few wires out of my face and look around shakily, my breathing getting more ragged as I see everything around me.

I'm sitting on a coroners autopsy table, many black wires hanging down from the lights above me, I look to my right to see a covered body on a table next to mine, a white sheet over it, past that is a few tables and a shelf against the wall, a few lights here and there, as well as a large metal door to the left side of the wall, I look to my right quickly to see only more shelving.

In front of me is more tables and lights, as well as speakers in bedded in the walls, I scramble off the table and pull off a few of the wires from myself, but have to stop only a foot or two from the table as the chain attached to the odd handcuffs stops me, I look to the wall that had been behind me, only to stiffen as I see a large two way mirror, I try to pull the handcuffs a little farther to move more away from the window but they resist, the table also not budging.

'Shit, ok, breath, where am I?' I ask myself, trying to figure that out, but this place looks like it could be anywhere in the galaxy.

As I'm looking around myself I yelp in surprise and fear as I hear the speakers behind me crackle to life, I look to them then back toward the mirror nervously.

"Subject Iota, you will answer any questions given to you, or you will be punished" rasps out a deep voice over the speakers, I shiver a little and gulp before nodding.

"Sounds good, just one question before we get started. Where the hell am I?" I ask loudly, trying to keep my voice steady as I face the mirror.

"You will be silent unless spoken too" the voice snaps, I huff and glare at the mirror angrily.

"Yeah, I don't think so, answer my question first" I snap back, only for a sudden electrical shock to shoot through the handcuffs, I hiss in pain and flinch back, yanking on the chains, however they stay strong.

"Question 1: what is your species?" The voice asks, I glare at the mirror, knowing who ever was speaking was behind it, hesitating for a moment before sighing and answering as best I can, not even sure how I could really explain what I really am.

"Human" I say simply, the speakers crackles a little as the voice snaps "False..." however seconds later it comes again a little less anger this time.

"Wait...correct, stupid machine" the voice growls, I smirk a little and lean against the table I had woken up on now.

"Question 2: do you know where you are?"

I snort in amusement "do I really have to answer that? I think my previous..." I stop speaking in favor of growling out in pain as more electricity is shot through the metal.

I sigh and answer again "no" that seems to satisfy the bastard as he's silent for a moment before continuing.

"Good. Last question for now: Have you ever heard of The Chimera Project?"

I hesitate and frown a little, shaking my head as I keep my eyes on the mirror "no...I know the earth stories and myths of Chimera, in Greek myths and other things" I say honestly, and with that the speakers turn off.

I shiver a little and look around again, my heart beating quickly as I see something to my right, on a small table seems to be a tray of small microchips, all green, however it seems a few are missing, I shiver again before I realize I am still really cold, looking down I gulp, seeing I'm in only a pair of white shorts and a white sports bra, the bandages that had covered my back and left arm no where to be found, leaving the tender skin exposed.

I move closer to the table to try and be able to reach my pockets but they are all empty, I groan softly before I realize I may have a way out.

I close my eyes and carefully open the connection, however my shoulders slump in defeat as the connection is cold and empty, meaning he was no where near me.

'I suppose thats sort of good, means he hopefully isn't in danger around here' I close the connection and look around the room once more.

'There's gotta be something I can do to get out of this...'

I look up underneath the table but still there was nothing.

After some time I move back to siting on the table tiredly, my legs and back needing a break.

And after even longer of just sitting there nervously, as if at a doctors appointment, the door behind me starts to hiss as if it was depressurizing, I turn my head to look at it nervously, and as the door opens my heart drops, someone in a large yellow hazard suit walks in holding something mostly hidden by their gloved hand, I jump to my feet, wincing at the pain shooting up my legs and back.

I watch as the person goes to the body under the sheet, tossing off the fabric to show an amphibious alien, looking much like a fish human hybrid, with small bits of frog thrown into the mix, chained just as I am, though they aren't moving or breathing, however the hazard guy brings up the thing in its hand, seeming to be some sort of gun, they press the end to the aliens arm before leaving, the door slamming shut behind them, the alien starts breathing again before twitching a few times, I try to get as far from them as possible, fear shaking me to my core at the horrible noises the alien was now making, as if choking on water.

However, not long after the alien calms down a bit and slowly starts to wake up, I watch with wide eyes as the alien begins to panic, jumping off their own table only to get yanked to a stop from their own chained hands, we meet wide fear filled eyes and an instant understanding passes between us.

An understanding that we were both utterly trapped here.

I shakily raise my hands "I-It's ok...I'm not going to hurt you, I'm stuck here too" I say quickly, the alien watches me closely, fearfully for a few moments before speaking themselves.

"How...how did we get here?" It asks, its voice sounding a little high but smooth, I shake my head a little shakily.

"I don't know, I only just woke up a few hours ago, and they haven't answered any of my questions" I explain, they nod and look around quickly before they see the microchips and their eyes widen in horror, they suddenly start to freak out, yanking on the chains as they start to scream in fear "No! No please! You have to let me go!"

I flinch back at the panic and grip the chain holding me shakily, staring as the alien starts to almost go feral with fear, starting to make less and less sense with their speech until its just screams and howls of terror.

The entire time I watched I was feeling sicker and sicker, my heart racing wildly. 'If this person knows whats happening...this is a very bad sign...'

After a good 10 minutes the alien seems to start to calm down, though only out of exhaustion, before they sink to their knees and are mostly out of my sight, I lean against my table nervously, trying to see them better.

"Hey...its going to be ok...we will get out of here..." I say cautiously, only to get a horrid growling snap sound as an answer, I gulp nervously before the snapping sounds begin to get louder and the alien was starting to quiver and shake, rattling their chain around loudly.

"You ok...?" I ask cautiously, only to get a soft whimper before suddenly the alien rears up, smashing its now very sharp large claws on the table, I stare in wide eyed horror at the thing now before me, still shifting and changing its shape, its arms growing in size and lengthening, its five fingers turning into three large claws, webbing between each digit, its back raises a little into an almost hyena like hump.

I scramble back from my table as much as possible as it continues to change, the handcuffs digging painfully into the flesh of my wrists, including the still painful skin on my left wrist.

It's legs lengthening and turning much more digitigrade, I couldn't make out its feet that were hidden behind its own table, but I could hear the claws scraping into the tile floor.

On its back a sail grows from the base of its head down its back to near the base of its spine.

Then, to my horror, the things chest begins to crack and split open before forming into a second set of smaller arms just down its sides from its main large arms, however, the claws attached to these arms are smaller, having four claw fingers and no webbing between.

Then I look to the things head, only to find it mostly bare, no eyes, nose, mouth or even ears, however soon five large slits open up along either side of its neck, just above the shoulders, and soon those slits flair and I realize they are some kind of gills or sensors.

I stare as the thing leans heavily on the table, panting through the gills and cradling its smaller arms up against its chest, as if to protect them, and I notice with mounting horror that the handcuffs had been broken off it in its transformation.

I suck in a breath and the thing stiffens before it's expressionless face rises and faces me, I shiver and hold my breath nervously, the creature watches me for a few moments before it stands up off the table, dropping to all fours, its so big I knew its back was past my height by quite a bit, it slowly comes around the tables toward me, I flinch back and try to stay as far from it as possible, though that was nearly impossible.

As it comes up to stand right in front of me, its gills flare as it looks me square in the face before there's a loud commotion outside the door, causing me to yelp in fear, my heart racing.

The creature jumps back from me and faces the door, a very deep rumbling growl vibrating from the things chest, soon a group of fully clothed and covered soldiers rush in, a few holding odd alien like guns, the others holding some kind of baton like a cattle prod, the ends having a visible current of energy shooting through them.

I watch in horror as they start to corner the creature as it snarls deeply and swipes at them several times with it larger front arms.

I pull on my chains "leave it alone!" I yell angrily, it hadn't hurt me, maybe it was just afraid.

"It's just scared! Leave it alone!" I yell again, seeing the thing face toward me for a moment before it continues to try and fight off the soldiers, however they soon manage to get a metal rope around its neck and they start dragging it out of the room, I continue to try and yell for them to stop, but they simply ignore me, one even smacking me with the butt of their gun to get me to shut up, I glare at him before looking back to the door.

I watch sadly as the door is then closed and the sounds of the creature fighting fades slowly down the halls outside, I slump against the table shakily, breathing in deeply to try and calm myself a little.

'Ok...so this is some kind of lab maybe? Are they experimenting on aliens and everyone alike? The alien before he turned seem to know what was happening when he saw the chips...' I glance over to said tray of microchips and try to look closer, only to again be stopped by the stupid chain.

I huff and shake my head a little before jumping as soon another person in a hazmat suit enters, holding the same small gun, I gulp and grip the chain shakily as they come over.

The person grabs my arm harshly to stop me from moving, I hiss in pain and try to jerk out of their hold, my eyes widening in fear as they bring the same gun like thing up and press it to my arm, I flinch and growl in pain as they shoot something deep into my arm, I wrench my arm from their grip and glare up at the tall figure, who's face was hidden by the helmet.

"What the hell was that?! What did you just put into me?" I snap angrily, but the person just stays silent and leaves the room, just as they had last time.

The longer I watch the door nervously, the more my fear spikes, as I realize that was exactly what happened to the alien from before.

'Am I going to become one of them...? And if so, will I be able to turn back...?'

Third person POV:

Amidst the thick huge jungle walks a group of 6 following a nearly invisible trail, human and alien alike, all carrying weapons or guns of some kind, moving quickly but cautiously through the brush, keeping eyes on each other, and looking out for any signs of danger.

One of the younger men, near the back yells in surprise as a loud wheezing sound pierces the air, causing the others to rush back to find him standing in front of a large blue box standing in the middle of the jungle.

The leader, a large insect like alien looking much like the alien Prawn from the movie District 9, raises his gun to the door cautiously, the others doing the same as the door flies open, and a man in a long brown trench coat and dark brown pinstripe suit, steps out holding some kind of odd looking square device, muttering to himself and not seeming to notice anyone around himself.

The leader makes a loud clicking sound to get the mans attention, he looks up curiously before his eyes widen to see the group in front of himself, he smiles widely.

"Ah, perfect! Ive been wondering where everyone is here, it says there are living things all around but I haven't run into any until you all" the man says, seeming to not be bothered by the weapons pointed at him.

"Hello, I'm the Doctor, and I'm looking for a friend of mine, have any of you seen a human girl with long silver hair? About this tall?" He asks, raising his free hand to just a little under his shoulder, the group stare at the man in confusion before glancing between themselves.

The leader then faces the Doctor cautiously and slowly lowers his gun "you are not with the company" the bug says in a clicking but gentle voice, the Doctor looks on curiously.

"Nope, not part of any company really, although there was a few times people have tried to get me to join theirs, but anyways, not important, have any of you seen her?' He asks again.

The leader shakes his head "we haven't seen anyone here besides the Beasts" he answers, the Doctor looks increasingly curious now.

"Beasts? What Beasts?" He asks, the entire group stares at him in confusion.

The same young man who had yelled steps forward, as everyone had now lowered their weapons "you can't be serious, how do you not know what the Beasts are? Do you know what planet you're even on?" The young human asks.

The Doctor smiles a little "I'm new to the area, now, what about these Beasts has you so scared?" He asks, dropping the device into his outer coat pocket before he puts his hands into his trouser pockets.

The leader glances back to the others then straps his gun to his back again and motions for the Doctor to follow.

"We cannot stay in one place long, come Doctor, we will explain as we go" he says, the Doctor nods and happily comes over to join the leader as the rest follow closely.

"The Beasts are those who have been turned by the company Kim-era" the alien explains as they walk.

"The Company has been working secretly for many years now, and its only recently starting to be known what they are doing, though most in the galaxy simply do not care to do anything about it" he continues before the middle aged woman with short blonde hair walks up to walk with both men, she looks tired and battle warn, but determined as she holds her gun close to her chest, keeping her eyes scanning around them.

"They kidnap people, children, elderly, those who are alone or simply will not be missed, and they take them and chain them up, before experimenting on them, or they simply throw them straight into their precious Chimera Project" she says coldly, her voice gruff but strong.

The Doctor looks to her, nodding slowly as he listened, it was obvious that the woman had been hurt by the company in some way.

"So...you're all out here to what? Shut down this company?" The Doctor asks, the leader nods.

"Yes, to shut it down and free those still trapped. To make those in charge pay for their crimes" he answers.

The Doctor nods again "and how did you all come together? And are there others?" He asks curiously, everyone stops walking and look to the leader, he sighs a little and starts to introduce everyone.

First he presses a sharp clawed finger to his own chest "my name is Mayhorn, my mother was taken by the company and I want to shut them down before they can kill anyone else, so I started this group, though there's few of us" he says before continuing, pointing to the woman beside them with the blonde hair.

"That's Julia, she was...taken by the company but survived" Mayhorn explains, Julia stiffening slightly but nodding in agreement.

Then Mayhorn nods to the two youngest human boys, standing together and both maybe 17 or 18 at most, both having short brown hair but one having blue eyes, the other boy has green "Juno and Astro, they broke into one of the Kim-era warehouses and found out what was happened, so they came and found me, wanting to help end it all"

Mayhorn then points to a young human looking woman, however her hair is a soft yellow, and her eyes are much more like those of a snake than human, she manages a nervous smile at the Doctor as the bug beside him speaks "Aza, she was used by the company to experiment on for some time before we broke her out"

Finally he points to the last man, a tall bulky augmented human, half of the mans head covered in wires or metal, the other half with short grey hair, and his left arm replaced with a metal robotic arm "and Rilind, he used to work for the company as a security guard before he found out what they were really doing, and then he helped us get Aza out safely"

Mayhorn finishes and the Doctor smiles at them all, nodding "its good to meet you all, now, how can I help? My friend is somewhere on this side of the planet so she may be close" he says, they nod and Aza smiles gently at him, and as she does so he can see her teeth are much sharper than a normal humans would be.

He claps his hands together "alright, where do we start?" He asks.

Mayhorn sighs softly "we are currently inside the killing fields, we are following a few old paths to get to the salt mine" he explains, the Doctor stops him, looking more confused now.

"Sat mine? And killing fields? Is this where they kill the people they don't need anymore?" He asks, Mayhorn grimaces as well as a large bug alien can.

"No...well, yes..." he pauses uncomfortably and Julia steps up, looking more tired and old than she did, the Doctor notes the tenseness in her shoulders as she speaks, obviously from experience.

"The company kidnaps people, and then turns them into Beasts, it used to only be for scientific research, although still illegal, but after some poking and prodding from the big wigs of the company, they started to keep the Beasts and lock them away in a large empty salt mine under the main resort building, then every day, one or two batches of the Beasts are released out the doors into the jungles, this place" she says stiffly.

"Then those big wigs invite their rich friends and their friends, and that group kept growing, but they then can pay to be able to stay in the resort and follow the Beasts into the jungle, to hunt them down and kill them for sport...its become a huge enterprise...I was one of the lucky few who survived the onslaught for one week...after one week, any who have survived are brought back to the labs and turned back, though then their memories are wiped, they just failed to wipe mine" she says coldly.

The Doctor frowns as he listened, his heart sinking in worry as he realizes this is the area he was picking up Rosies life sign.

"And...they just kidnap anyone they like?" He asks cautiously, she nods, Mayhorn coming around to stand beside her, gently laying his clawed hand on her shoulder comfortingly.

The Doctor frowns more and starts to pace in a circle for a few moments before looking to Mayhorn "do you have a map of the resort and salt mine?" He asks quickly, he shakes his head sadly.

"No, we only have vague descriptions" he replies softly, the Doctor nods.

"Then lets continue on, when do the Beasts get let out today?" He asks as they all start walking again.

"One batch gets sent out at dawn, and another at around noon" Mayhorn explains "however we must be very careful, many of the Beasts are in a feral state of mind, so they will attack us if they see us, as will the hunters if they see us, they usually hunt on hover bikes, so we can usually hear them coming, but its not always a guarantee" he finishes.

The Doctor nods and pulls out his sonic before scanning around them all, reading the info before he starts scanning each person, they watch him in a bit of confusion before the Doctor smiles at Mayhorn.

"You're a K-homay! I visited your planet decades ago! I didn't know you could breath air" the Doctor says happily, Mayhorn gives him a surprised look.

"I am...youve been there? How is that possible? It burned years ago" he says in confusion, the Doctor frowns.

"I'm so sorry...I went a long time ago" he says softly, the bug gives him a slightly nervous look before continuing on.

They walk for some time, being very cautious and its not too long before they hear a loud humming sound coming toward them, the group rushes into the thicket as quietly as they can, grouping up and one of the younger guys, Juno, pulls out a large tarp like fabric and throws it over them all before they silently crouch to the ground, the Doctor silently joins them, glancing up to see they could see through the fabric.

And soon as the humming sound gets loud three people on hovering bikes come into view above them, two of the three being aliens, one looking more amphibious, the other looking more like a bat, and the last man looking mostly human, besides a few augmented parts here and there.

All three of them are holding laser weapons and all dressed in very fine clothing, obviously very expensive.

The three talk loudly over the humming of the bikes before they zoom off in another direction, the group around the Time Lord sighs and relax before they put the tarp away in one of their packs and start down the tiny almost invisible path again.

The more the Doctor thought, the more worried he became, he opens his end of the connection, but all thats there is cold emptiness, he frowns worriedly, running his fingers through his hair over and over again before he starts to mess with his wedding ring, gently spinning it around his finger for some time before he pulls out his sonic again to start scanning plants and things as they passed them, as well as in random directions to see if he could pick up any signals of any kind.

However, none of this was helping with his mounting dread, that cold icy feeling crawling up his spine, and the heavy rock lands in the pit of his stomach, both of his hearts already racing.

The group around him could see how nervous and tense he was, but they didn't say anything, knowing if his friend was near here it was probably not a good sign.

Alright! Chapter one of The Beasts of Chimera is done!
