Alright! First off, I want to thank you all so much for understand why it's taking me so long currently to write, home life is honestly hell right now, but I'm still alive so thats something :)

Your kind words mean the universe to me and I love you all!

To jansesu: I'm so glad you're enjoying the story! I hope it was worth the binge read ;) I am so happy with how far my writing has come, and my comprehension of the English language :D ( my first and only language is English but I have some learning disabilities that make me struggle with words and their meanings, so it's been one hell of a ride to research the meaning behind so many words to make sure I get them right for this story :) and I am going back and rewriting my older chapters when I have time, to fix grammar and such)

To atrhoads05: Thank you! And yup! More Jack! Though not too much sadly, at least not yet! I hadn't heard about them animating The Abominable Snowmen but that sounds like it will be fun! I enjoy the animated stories just as much as the others! And thank you for saying you look forward to this story, that means so much to me, to know even a few people enjoy this as much as I do, it's a definite motivator!

To grapejuice101: Thank you for the kind words and offer of help! And Im glad you're enjoying the story! I have some very big plot points coming up to do with the Master soon! So be on the lookout for those!

And just before we get onto the story, the next chapter or two is going to be a more calm and chill couple of chapters, just to give us all a small break from the craziness, then it will be onto a rather lore heavy plot point :D

I can't wait to share it with you all and now onto todays misadventure!

Looking down at my arm I sigh, but can't help the soft smile that comes to my face.

The newest tattoo seemed to be the orange space suit that the Doctor wore, even if that did remind me of the pain he went through, it also reminded me of the many other times we'd seen him in it.

I shut my end of the connection and run my fingers through my hair, now as I think about my next adventure, I start to get a little nervous 'do I let Rose go downstairs alone...?'

I look down at my outfit, still the pair of shorts and my t-shirt, though it was all still a little sweaty, and dirt and grime covered from the mad dash around the melting ship.

Grimacing, I shake my head 'I better have time to at least change when I arrive'

I look around the still dark void, getting a little miffed as the time passes, leaving me still standing there.

I sit down tiredly and run my fingers through my hair again, trying and failing to ignore how tired I feel, I rub my eyes and yawn softly, closing my eyes, and when I open them I'm sat on a hill covered in grass, facing a massive city, with flying cars whooshing overhead, going to and from the city.

I can't help a small smile as I lean back on my arms, watching the cars and enjoying the smell of fresh crisp apples as I rip up a bit of the grass to smell it.

After a few quiet minutes, the familiar humming begins and in front of me appears the Tardis, just as always, bright blue and lit up.

I stand slowly, gasping as pain shoots up my spine, I take a few deep breaths before making my way carefully over to the ship, gently patting the wood as I get close "hello lovely" I murmur softly, beaming as the warm hum reverberates through my hand still against the wood.

I smile more when the doors open and out steps 10 and Rose, I get an idea and wait for a moment, hidden as they look out at the city.

"It's the year five billion and twenty three. We're in the galaxy M-87, and this, this is New Earth" the Doctor says, obviously excited, a few more cars whizzing past above us.

Rose starts to laugh in awe and the Doctor beams "not bad, not bad at all" he comments happily.

"That's amazing. I'll never get used to this" she says, brushing her hair out of her face as the wind picked up "Never. Different ground beneath my feet" she says, hopping up and down a few times as she looks around "different sky. What's that smell?" She asks suddenly.

I smile more and grab a handful of grass and come up behind them silently, before tossing the grass onto the Doctor's head "apple grass" I say proudly as the Doctor jumps and spins, noticing the grass as it fell all over him, me and Rose starting to laugh at his mock outrage.

"Rosie! Come on, now it's all in my hair" he complains, trying to pick it out, I giggle and gently pull him to lean down, picking the grass from his hair and kissing his forehead.

"Oh, I'm sorry, did I get grass on the baby?" I tease, smirking as I stick a few of the pieces down the collar of his coat and shirt, to which he instantly jumps back and starts to try and shake it out, me and Rose laughing even harder.

"Rosie! You are so childish!" He complains, twisting this way and that as he tries to shake out the grass, I giggle and smile broadly at him.

"I learned from the best, teach" I tease and he glares back.

Rose snorts and gently nudges me in the side "next time, I want in on the attack" she jokes, I smile more and nod.

"Sounds like a plan, we need to come up with a code or sign to one another" I hum thoughtfully, the Doctor, having finally rid himself of the grass, pouts at us both, crossing his arms.

"Now who's being childish?" I tease, smirking and coming up to him, gently pulling him by his tie down into a kiss, he huffs a little but returns the kiss, gently resting his hands on my hips.

I pull back and he playfully glares down at me "a kiss isn't going to make up for that prank" he grumbles, I giggle again.

"Who said I wanted to make up for it? I just wanted a kiss" I say casually, he scoffs.

"Yes, of course, thats all I'm good for, a laugh and a kiss" he says, playing at being grumpy.

I giggle again and gently pull him down into a longer, sweeter kiss, before pulling back to see that beautiful thoroughly kissed and dazed look on his face, I gently cup his cheek, my heart swelling with love and fondness for this ancient being.

He grins back, leaning into my touch, I open my end of the connection and instantly get flooded with his love and humor.

I gently kiss the end of his nose happily, just enjoying the moment for a second before we get interrupted.

Rose had grabbed two handfuls of the grass and tosses it over us both, covering us in the sweet smelling plant "you two need to get a room" she teases, I cant help but blush, laughing and shaking my head to try and rid my hair of the grass.

For a moment, me and the Doctor gently pick the grass out of each other's hair and off our clothes before we head off, heading along the hills tops, looking out over the water and toward the city as we walk, my hand firmly holding the Doctor's, Rose on the other side of him.

I glance around as we walk, almost letting out a noise of surprise when I see something scuttling around in the grass, but I bite my tongue and continue on like nothings happened.

I look up and smile softly, seeing the Doctor and Rose looking out over the water as we all stop, they both looked so happy, and it warmed my heart.

I gently squeeze the Doctor's hand and he looks down to me, absolutely beaming and bright eyed, I smile back, sending him love and warmth, which he instantly returns, squeezing my hand back and looking back out over the water.

The Doctor starts on his explanation of the planet of new earth as we continue to casually walk, Rose looking to him curiously as she continues beside us.

"Can we go and visit New New York? So good they named it twice" Rose asked curiously.

I snort in amusement and nod "I think we may be able to squeeze it in" I say happily, which makes her smile more.

"We first need to go there" the Doctor says, gesturing toward the two tall buildings made of metal and glass with a large green crescent moon on the sides, it stood at the edge of the water and had many hovering cars flying too and from it, and to top off the gorgeous scene was a large planet with a moon in the sky behind the hospital.

"why? What is it?" She asks, brushing hair out of her face as the wind whipped past us.

"Some sort of hospital" The Doctor replies, squeezing my hand softly, I return the gesture and smile a little more.

In the back of my mind, I had still been trying to figure out this whole mess and what I should do, and I finally land on an answer, I couldn't let Rose go down into the basement.

"Green moon on the side, that's the universal symbol for hospitals" the Doctor explains before using his free hand to pull out his psychic paper.

"I got this. A message on the psychic paper" he continues, now holding up the paper to show us, I cant help but smile a little at the message.

'Ward 26. Please Come'

"Someone wants to see us" he finishes, putting the paper away.

"Oh, and I thought we were just sightseeing" Rose snarks, I giggle a little.

"There's always something with him" I say, nodding to him as he huffs playfully, Rose smiling back happily.

"Always. Now, come on then, let's go and buy some grapes" she says happily, I nod and we start down toward the hospital.

My pain in my back and legs had been manageable up until now but it seemed to be getting worse by the minutes, but I do manage to keep it hidden from the connection, knowing if he sensed anything he'd make us go back to the Tardis.

As we get close the Doctor grimaces and looks up at the building, then we step through the front sliding glass doors, instantly I'm met with the smell of sterile and cool air.

"I don't like hospitals" he grumbles as we get inside, Rose laughing at that.

"Bit rich coming from you" she teases, I smile more.

"I know why he doesn't like them, a long time ago, when he was much younger, he had just regenerated and was in a hospital while still high on regeneration energy, it was rather funny watching him grumble about his shoes for a while" I say, earning another laugh from her, and a teasing glare from the Doctor.

"You weren't even there for most of it, or my escape" he sasses, I smirk.

"Perhaps not, but I've seen it all, and I distinctly remember you having to try and escape multiple times" I look over to Rose "he not only regenerated, but also passed out and was found by some friends of ours, rambled like a dork for hours at a time, nearly got kidnapped, got shot and then after it all he had to help fight off an alien invasion" I explain happily as we stood near the front doors still, I had let go of the Doctor's hand as we talked as I used my hands to gesture a little.

Rose's eyes widen as she listened before looking to the Doctor then back to me "when you say younger, how much younger? And also, what did he do to get shot at? Did he steal something?" She asks enthusiastically.

The Doctor grumbles half heartedly "can we save the embarrassing stories for after we find out who sent the note?" He asks, I giggle a little.

"alright, I suppose so" I agree, Rose pouts a little "you better actually tell me later, I won't let you escape the explanations" she says seriously before we all move farther into the hospital.

I nearly trip over my own feet as a sudden shock hits me, the pain in my back flaring as I come to a stop, the other two continuing on.

'Rose. Danger'

I look around quickly, not seeing anyone near me, but I recognize that voice so I close my eyes 'Jack?'

'Yes. Beware Foreseer, danger lurks here. Do not go below'

I sigh a little, glancing down at my still dirty shorts and t-shirt.

'I have to, but I will be very careful, I know what to expect'

'then, if I cannot change you're mind, please short stuff, just be careful. And I know just how much you enjoy vague warnings, but there is no other time for me to impart this knowledge on to you. Do not believe what the woman will tell you, but know that a part of it will be true. I cannot say any more'

I sigh softly and run my fingers through my hair 'it always has to be riddles doesn't it?' I ask, only half joking.

'I know, but you understand time travel better than most, you know why I cannot say more' he continues, I nod a little.

' Ya, I know. Doesn't mean I won't get you back for this somehow'

I hear his soft chuckles echoing in my mind 'Beware, short stuff. For your time is now' he finishes and I look up to see the Doctor and Rose getting into the elevator, I meet the Doctor's eyes as he notices I won't make it before the doors closed, I move closer and smile warmly at him.

"Ward 26. I remember" I call after them as the doors close, I make it to the wall to hear the Doctor calling down, but I couldn't make out what he said, I shrug a little before grimacing as I look to the closed doors, then the ones opening now.

I step inside and take a deep breath, ready to face off with the trampoline. Ok, well, not really ready, but trying to be.

"Ward 26 please" I say aloud as the doors close, I look around the room for a moment before the computer voice speaks "commence stage one disinfection" and then there are a few warning sounds before the spray of cool liquid rains down, I can't help but sigh in relief as the cool water or what ever it was, cleaned away the sweat and grime from me and my clothes, while also helping to sooth my back.

I scrub at my hair to clean it before it changes to the drying stage, I close my eyes and let the warm and cool air hit me at different intervals, and soon it shuts off, leaving me much cleaner than when I had entered the lift.

The elevator bings and the doors open, and just as I expected, I'm down in the basement, cement walls around me with pipes all over and other equipment for who knows what.

"The human child is clean" calls a voice a little further down the hall, I jump and wince but quickly hide it, looking over to see Chip standing there, hands clasped in front of himself, and I decide to play dumb for now.

"Um, hello. I'm looking for ward 26. Could you point me in the right direction?"

"This way" he says a bit creepily, causing me to shiver a little, watching as he almost hops off down the hallway, I follow at a slight distance, glancing around myself a lot as I go, wondering if I'd need to know where to go later on.

I decide to not grab anything for a weapon as there was very little Cassandra could do to me yet.

I make myself move slowly, not wanting to shock any pain through my back again, but I could tell Chip was getting impatient as he looks back more and more, but soon he turns a corner and as I follow, I see an open door with clear plastic flaps over it, and inside I can see a projector, displaying a video onto the wall of the cold cement room.

I hesitate before stepping inside, looking at the images for a moment before I turn to my left, making eye contact with the bitchy trampoline herself, she seems a little disgruntled.

At the same time, I close the connection, being gentle and careful, hoping to not alert the Doctor to thinking anything was wrong.

"You. You were there with the Doctor, on Platform one" she snaps angrily, I nod and glare right back.

"I was, yes. Very observant of you Cassy" she scoffs angrily at the nickname.

"Do not insult me child" she snaps "oh but you aren't a child now, are you? It must have slipped my mind, Foreseer" she sneers.

I pause at that 'how the hell...?'

"How do you know that name?" I ask seriously.

"Oh, I did some research. On the Doctor, and where ever he was, you seemed to always be too. Oh but enough of that, I'm sure you already know what is going on, am I correct?" She asks, I grimace a little but nod slightly.

"Good, then you know how I can win" she says triumphantly and suddenly Chip has appeared and he grabs my arm, shoving me back into the psycho-graft, I nearly grab the wall but I missed by just a little bit and I am suddenly standing between the two metal things on the walls, light coming out of it and holding me in a static pose so I couldn't move, the sudden movements sent shocks of pain up my back and legs, causing me to gasp in pain.

I glare up at Chip then past to his mistress.

"You have no idea what you're getting yourself into Cassandra. I'm not human" I snap, but she scoffs again.

"I don't care what you are. I just know, where you are, the Doctor will be, and I need his mind to figure this all out, or perhaps I will only need you, if you know whats going to happen" she sneers.

I try to pull against the light, straining and sending more pain through me, enough to make me stop and gasp for breath.

"Enough of your little show Foreseer. Goodbye trampoline, and hello body" Cassandra says triumphantly before a bright light engulfs her, I cant even catch my breath before the light hits me hard in the chest and I drop to the ground.

Instantly I feel as though I'm just watching through a screen, I couldn't move at all and my panic was starting to build.

And then, my mind felt full, far too full, like something was crushing me down farther into my own mind, I try to fight it, managing to keep her consciousness at bay, so she couldn't get too far in my mind.

Our eyes open and Cassandra seems to wake up, I could feel her in my head, like someone had stuffed Cotten balls all around my brain then laid a heavy book over it.

I couldnt make out what her and Chip were saying at first, but as she stands we are wracked with pain, shooting up her legs and back, she gasps and falls forward in pain, Chip catching her in alarm "Mistress!"

She grips onto his arms tightly and I could tell she was pissed.

"What the hell is this?" She snaps, obviously speaking to me, though poor Chip didn't understand.

"Mistress? What's wrong?" He asks worriedly.

"The girl. She's done something! The pain is so intense" she growls out, moving to lean against the wall, gasping for breath.

"What do you want me to do?" Chip asks worriedly, his hands shaking slightly.

"Nothing right now, I...she's sick..." she says after a short pause, seeming to come to the realization as the pain faded a little.

I grimace mentally and get an idea, I push back against her in my mind, even as it send pain thrumming through my head.

"Nerve...damage..." I manage to get out, both the others looking shocked as I had been able to control my mouth enough to speak out loud.

"How did you do that? You shouldn't even be aware" Cassandra snaps.

"Not...as weak...as...you assumed" I respond, she covers her mouth for a moment to stop me from continuing before she looks into the mirror next to us, glaring into my own eyes.

"None of that. I need your body to find out whats going on, I don't want you to mess this up" she growls, I sigh mentally.

"Fine...just...don't hurt...anyone" I respond once again, then she nods and looks us over in the mirror, grimacing.

"A little boring aren't you. Besides the hair and markings, not remarkable at all, though..." she leans closer to the mirror, looking at my eyes much closer.

"Your eyes are interesting" she hums, noting the faint blue ring around the outside of the iris, the brown seeming to melt away at the edges to the dark blue, the color of a thunderstorms clouds.

She shakes her head and looks herself over again, smirking a little, I can't help the mental eye roll I give as she messes with my clothes a little, pulling the neck line of my t-shirt down more and tying it around the front to turn it into a sort of crop top.

She nods and smirks wider "much better" she says, looking over to Chip, who was watching her with intense interest, smiling widely.

"Mistress is beautiful" he says happily, causing her to smile more.

"Absolument" she replies before looking past him at her old skin rack.

"Oh, but look" she walks toward the tank containing her old brain, Chip following close behind.

"Aw, the brain meat expired" Chip mourns "My old mistress is gone"

"But safe and sound in here" she replies, tapping the side of her head.

"Now I must find the Doctor...I see" she murmurs as I can feel her routing around in my mind, I try to keep her out but she's able to scratch the surface a little.

"That man, that's the Doctor. The same Doctor with a different face. That hypocrite!" She fumes as she turns and heads out the door "I must get the name of his surgeon"

I can hear Chip following along, seeming to still be worried, and he had the right to be, as just as she steps out the door she nearly collapses again, leaning against the wall in pain, gasping for breath.

"Mistress!" He yelps, rushing forward and she grabs his arm to steady herself more.

"Perhaps you should sit mistress" he urges gently, making me all the more sad for how he will end.

"No. I must find the Doctor" she protests, standing back up slowly.

"But he's dangerous" he protests, she nods.

"Dangerous and clever" she retorts "I may need a mind like his, this girl isn't allowing me to see much of her mind, and the Sisterhood is up to something. Remember that old Earth saying? 'Never trust a nun, never trust a nurse and never trust a cat"

She brushes down her clothes as if to dust off her nearly falling over, she then holds her hand out and Chip instantly pulls a small bottle from his pocket and hands it to her, I can't help my mental grimace as she stuffs the bottle down into our sports bra.

Then she turns and continues on to the elevator, Chip stays back watching on as she turns to face him, smirking.

"Don't worry Chip, I'll soon be rich" she says and then asks for the right floor, the doors closing quickly.

As we stare into my bodies eyes in the mirrored surface of the doors, I speak up again "Doctor...doesn't know...I'm...sick"

She smirks "didn't want to tell him? Think he'll leave if you do?" She snarks.

"No...he worries..." I respond, causing her to pause for a moment before rolling her eyes.

The rest of the ride up is silent until the doors open on the blindingly white hallways, she rubs her eyes for a moment before stepping out.

"You're eyes are useless" she mutters in aggravation, I smirk a little.

As we come into the ward I smile widely in my mind, seeing The Face of Boe in the back, and the Doctor coming over once he sees us, beaming and obviously excited.

"There you are love. Come and look at this patient" he says quickly, gently grabbing her arm and pulling her over to stand in front of red man floating in the air.

"Marconi's disease. Should take years to recover. Two days. I've never seen anything like it. They've invented a cell-washing cascade. It's amazing. Their medical science is way advanced. And this one" he turns and she follows, I could tell she was a bit shocked at how excited and happy the Doctor was, as she had only really seen him as 9, and more angry and sad.

He stops in front of a man as white as snow, laying on a bed with red tubes connected to his chest hidden by his hospital gown "Pallidome pancrosis. Kills you in ten minutes, and he's fine" the Doctor waves at him awkwardly and turns away, I smile mentally.

"I need to find a terminal. I've got to see how they do this" he says, gently grabbing her arm to lead her away quickly, leaving the main ward room.

"'Cause if they've got the best medicine in the world, then why is it such a secret?" He asks, watching her as she looks around trying to seem casual while looking for clues.

"No idea" she replies, though her voice sounded off, just as it had with Rose, only now it was more of a weird mix of a British accent and an American one.

"What...whats with the voice?" The Doctor asks, watching her oddly, hands in his pockets as she turns to him, I could feel her spike of nerves.

"I don't know, just...Messing about. New earth. New me" she replies, looking him up and down, her hands on her hips.

"Well, I can talk. New new Doctor" he replies, smiling a little, but I could tell he knew something was off.

"Mmmm, aren't you just" she replies before launching forward and dragging him down into an intense kiss, messing his hair up with her hands before pulling back, gasping for air as she stares up at him.

"Te...Terminals this way" she says, pointing down the hall before heading off, the Doctor staring after her with that dazed look he had when thoroughly kissed.

"Yeah...still got it" I hear him murmur behind us, making me smirk mentally.

As they arrive at the terminal the screen lights up bright blue, Cassandra grimacing a little at the sudden brightness.

"No, nothing odd. Surgery. Post-op. Nanodentistry. No sign of a shop. They should have a shop" the Doctor explains as he examines the screen.

Cassandra walks around him to stand to his right, looking closer at the screen "No, it's missing something else. When I was downstairs, those nurse-cat-nuns were talking about intensive care, but where is it?" She asks, being able to read the screen that I couldn't figure out.

The doctor leans against the screen as he watches her.

"You're right. Well done" he comments.

"Why would they hide a whole department" she mumbles, the Doctor taking out his sonic as he looks back to the screen.

"It's got to be there somewhere. Search the subframe" she seems to order.

"What if the subframe's locked?" He asks, pressing his sonic to the screen.

"Try the installation protocol" she replies.

"Yeah. Course. Sorry" he says, nodding, but I could see a tension in his shoulders, he was getting worried now.

After a second I zone out as I realize I hadn't seen Rose, I get an idea and focus on reaching out to Jack in the other room.

'Jack? Sorry to bother, have you seen Rose?'

After only a moment he replies softly 'she is with me, the Doctor told her to keep me company while he found you'

I relax a little 'alright, thank you. please keep her with you if you can, it will be safer for her'

He chuckles softly 'off on another dangerous mission, short stuff?'

'You could say that. Be safe big face' I tease and he laughs again softly 'be safe foreseer'

I focus back in just as they are walking down one of the walkways with the green pods along the walls, I can't stop my heart from sinking as I watch behind my own eyes.

They look out over the massive room, every wall covered in the green lit up pods.

Going down another hallway, the Doctor stops and opens one of the pods, Cassandra behind him watching cautiously.

The man inside the cell was covered in boils and skin lesions and looked exhausted.

"That's disgusting. What's wrong with him?" She asks, obviously grossed out.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry" the Doctor murmurs sadly, gently closing the door again as Cassy watches in disgust and confusion.

He goes and opens the next one down the line, this one with a young woman in it, green boils all over her "what disease is that?" Cassandra asks.

"All of them. Every single disease in the galaxy. They've been infected with everything" the Doctor replies, she glances at him, seeing just how angry he was, even as he tried to hide it.

"What about us? Are we safe?" She asks quickly.

"The air is sterile. Just don't touch them" he replies, closing that door as well, then he heads on down the corridor, Cassandra following him cautiously.

He stops at one of the railings, leaning on it slightly with his arms wide open, staring down at all of the pods.

"How many patients are there?" Cass asks.

"They're not patients" the Doctor says coldly, The Oncoming Storm taking over.

"But they're sick" she says confused.

"They were brown sick. They're meant to be sick. They exist to be sick. Lab rats" the Doctor spits "no wonder the Sisters have a cure for everything. They've built the ultimate research laboratory. A human farm" he snaps angrily.

The Doctor turns and heads down the hall again, Cassandra following.

"Why don't they just die?" She asks.

He stops in front of another pod, his face hard and bitter and angry and sad all at once.

"Plague carriers. The last to go"

"It's for the greater cause" calls a soft voice down the hall, they both turn to find one of the nuns, Novice Hame walking closer.

"Novice Hame" the Doctor growls out her name in disdain, walking a little closer to her "when you took your vows, did you agree to this?"

"The Sisterhood has sworn to help" she replies, sounding almost desperate, desperate for us to understand.

"What, by killing?" The Doctor snaps, seething, and I remember that now the Doctor could tell something was off with me and he was angry, and scared at what the Sisterhood could have done to me.

"But they're not real people. They're specially grown. they have no proper existence" the nurse retorts in a soft hopeful voice.

"What's the turnover? Hmm? A thousand a day? Thousand the next? Thousand the next? How many thousands? For how many years?!" He rages as they walk closer to the nurse "how many?!" Roars the Doctor, barely holding himself back, and Cassandra just watched him silently.

"Mankind needed us. They came to this planet with so many illnesses, we couldnt cope. We did try. We tried everything. We tried using clone meat and bio-cattle, but the results were too slow. So the Sisterhood grew it's own flesh. That's all they are. Flesh" she explains, seeming still hopeful, hopeful that we would understand why they did what they did.

"These people are alive" the Doctor growls, pointing at one of the pods for emphasis.

"But think of those humans out there, healthy, and happy, because of us"

"If they live because of this then life is worthless" he says seriously, his anger seeming to cool down just a little.

"But who are you to decide that?"

"I'm the Doctor. And if you don't like it, if you want to take it to a higher authority, there isn't one. It stops with me" he says seriously, temper flaring as he moves closer to stand in her face.

Cass sidles up beside the Doctor and speaks, I cringe inside at the odd tone of voice she spoke in "Just to confirm...none of the humans in the city actually know about this?"

"We thought it best not..."

The Doctor interrupts her now "Hold on. I can understand the bodies, I can understand your vows, but one thing I can't understand. What have you done to Rose?" He asks seriously, and again I could see his anger flaring, his shoulders tense and his stance protective, standing a little in front of me/Cassandra.

"I dont know what you mean" Novice Hame insists, now confused.

"And I'm being very, very calm. You want to be aware of that. Very, very calm. And the only reason I'm being so very, very calm is that the brain is a delicate thing. Whatever you've done to Rose's head, I want it reversed" he warns then orders.

"We haven't done anything" Hame replies seriously.

"I'm perfectly fine" Cass interjects.

The Doctor doesn't even look around to meet her eyes "these people are dying and Rose, My Rose would care" he says dangerously, it's then that I could feel the slightest movement, and I realize it was the Doctor trying to enter my mind, but with me crammed so far down I could only hear a faint echo, Cass doesn't seem to notice it at all.

Cassandra scoffs and finally gives up, obviously grumpy, she grabs his arm and spins him to face her "all right, clever clogs. Smarty-pants" she says, pulling his tie out from under his jacket as he just stares in confusion, concern and anger "Ladykiller" she continues.

"What's happened to you?" He asks softly, tense all over and staring into her face, as I watched behind my own eyes, I couldn't stop the shiver going down my back when I meet his gaze, only this time that shiver sends shocks of pain through my body, causing Cass to gasp in pain and stumble into the Doctor, who grabs hold of her quickly.

"What was that?" He asks quickly, looking down at her as she catches her breath, holding onto his suit jacket tightly for a moment before standing back up straight, looking up and smiling at him in a rather creepy way.

"I needed a body to find out what has been going on in this place. I just managed to find a sick one." She snarks.

"Who are you?" The Doctor demands in confusion and anger, Cass still messing with his tie before she leans up and in to whisper in his ear.

"The last human"

He pulls back and grimaces "Cassandra?" He asks, incredulous.

"Wake up and smell the perfume" she says quickly, pulling out the bottle from her bra and spraying it into his face, causing him to go unconscious instantly.

He falls to the floor and Novice Hame gapes at her for a second before kneeling next to him in worry, my stomach drops instantly, this all reminded me a little too much of Midnight.

I quickly mentally look away, trying to focus on something else as everything happened outside of my own head.

Then an idea hits me 'if I can somehow come in contact with the super healer the Doctor makes at the end...could that help heal me...?' I start to think it over as fast as I could, feeling my body moving around a lot but I try to not focus on it.

'The science is obviously extremely advanced. And maybe if I get drenched in it, it could help heal my back...now to just convince Cassandra to do so, and try to not worry the Doctor even more'

I zone back in to find Cass standing outside the pod she put the Doctor in.

"-Spare. Standing room only" she taunts, though I only caught the last half.

"You've stolen Rose's body!" He growls.

"Over the years, I've thought of a thousand ways to kill you, Doctor. And now that's exactly what I've got. One thousand diseases. They pump the patients with a top-up every 10 minutes. You've got about three minutes left. Enjoy" she sneers.

"Just let Rose go, Cassandra" the Doctor orders.

"I will. As soon as I find someone younger, and less broken. Then I'll junk her with the waste. Now hush-a-bye. It's showtime"

She turns as we all hear Matron Casp speak.

"Anything we can do to help?"

"Straight to the point, Whiskers. I want money"

"The Sisterhood is a charity, we don't give money. We only accept" the cat lady retorts.

"The humans across the water pay you a fortune, and that's exactly what I need. A one-off payment, thats all I want" Cass explains, walking slowly toward the other women.

"Oh, and perhaps a yacht, in return for which, I will tell the city nothing of your institutional murder" the other cat woman stops typing on her little device to also look up toward her.

"Is that a deal?" Cassandra asks.

"I'm afraid not" Matron Casp replies.

"I'd really advise you to think about this"

"Oh, there's no need. I have to decline"

"I'll tell them. And you've no way of stopping me. You're not exactly nuns with guns. You're not even armed"

"Who needs arms when we have claws?" Casp exclaims, raising her hand and unsheathing her claws, looking all too happy about this, and hissing menacingly.

"Well, nice try. Chip, plan B!" Cass turns and looks to chip, who happily moves up and pulls a lever, opening all the pods in this hallway, causing both cats to jump slightly and back away, looking to the green pods in shock.

The Doctor quickly jumps out of his as Cassandra quickly goes the other way, the patients leaving the pods slowly.

"What have you done?" He demands, looking back at the cats, then back to her.

"Gave the system a shot of adrenalin, just to wake them up. See ya!" She says quickly before heading off.

"Don't touch them! Whatever you do, don't touch" the Doctor calls to the cats, before running after Cassandra.

I couldn't help but worry for the other people in the building that were going to die, I just hoped they would be few.

Soon the rest of the pods seem to explode open with sparks, opening every pod in the entire massive compound.

The Doctor, Chip and Cassandra all stop and stare out in horror and fear, and in the Doctors case, anger.

I watch in silence, ignoring their conversation, already knowing it mostly by heart, That is until they are getting down into the basement, Cassandra going toward the lifts, however before she makes it a sharp pain sears down through our back and legs, the nerves raw and sore from the sudden running.

She nearly collapses to the ground, only for Chip to catch her, the Doctor watching on in growing anger and worry.

"What have you done to her?" He demands, glancing behind then back to her, she glares back as she tries to stand back up slowly.

"I didnt do anything. It's not my fault this girl is broken" she snaps, holding onto Chips arm for stability.

The Doctor glares down at her before looking past to see where she had been going "the lifts wont work, the buildings under quarantine"

She huffs and quickly lets go of Chip, moving past the Doctor roughly "this way then"

The other two follow her as fast as they could, however, as Cassandra and the Doctor pass a hallway, a group of the sick humans comes out, trapping Chip on the other side.

The Doctor stops and turns back "Don't let them touch you!" Cassandra had turned back as well, and I could see, through her eyes, chip looking panicked and desperate, making my heart hurt for the poor man.

"Leave him! He's a clone thing. He's only got a half-life. Come on!" Cass snaps, grabbing the Doctors arm.

"Mistress!" Chip calls in fear, still backing away.

"I'm sorry, I can't let her escape!" The Doctor calls back as he runs after Cassandra again.

"My mistres!" We hear Chip yell.

Cassandra runs down into the same room where she had taken over my body, the Doctor slamming the door closed behind us and locking it, Cass runs to the other door and tries to go though, only to find more infected on the other side, she closes and locks it quickly before turning back.

"We're trapped! What are we going to do?" She asks frantically.

"Well, for starters, you're going to leave that body" he orders, walking a little closer and pointing at the machine from earlier.

"That psycho-graft is banned on every civilized planet. You're compressing Rose to death" he snaps, Cass walking away, toward her old brain in a jar.

"But I've got nowhere to go. My original skins dead" she snaps, turning toward him again.

"Not my problem. You can float as atoms in the air. Now get out" he says coldly.

She faces him fully, and he raises his sonic warningly.

"Give her back to me"

"You asked for it" she retorts.

And suddenly I'm being raised up and out of the dark, blinking and gasping as I'm suddenly myself again, not just watching, I nearly collapse as I try to regain control.

My eyes widen as I realize she's gone into the Doctor now.

He stumbles away a little and I press my hand to my forehead, wincing as a headache was pounding there now.

"Cassandra...get out of him" I gasp out, and she turns, the Doctor looking rather funny.

"Oh my, this is...different" she says, smiling a little as she looks around a bit.

"Cassandra, I said out" I snap.

"Goodness me, I'm a man" she exclaims, ignoring me for the moment.

"Yum. So many parts" she says, her hands up a bit as she walks around a little, my cheeks heating a little as she doesn't add the 'hardly used' bit.

Cassandra makes a few shocked and uncomfortable noises as she realizes what felt off "ah! Two hearts! Oh, baby, I'm beating out a samba"

"Get out Cass" I snap again, trying to stay calm as I could hear the infected outside the doors still.

"Ohh, he's slim" she continues, looking down at herself...himself? Who cares.

She drags her hand down his chest, looking up to me again "and a little bit foxy" she teases, my cheeks warming a little again.

"You thought so, too. Ive been inside your head. You've been looking" she teases, walking closer.

"You like it" she says, leaning in closer, taunting.

"Of course I like him. We're married" I snap

She jumps and turns however as the infected get the door behind her open, interrupting her reaction.

"What do we do? What would he do? The Doctor! What the hell would he do?" She demands, smacking my arm in her fear.

I turn to see the ladder I knew would be there "the Ladder, we've gotta climb up" I explain and she pushes past me quickly "out of the way, girl"

I look back to the infected sadly as they beg for our help "I'm sorry, I can't help you yet, but I will, and so will he" I say before racing after Cassandra up the ladder, the pain in my back starting to throb and ache, but I push through it, knowing it was a bad idea, but I couldn't die here.

I catch up with Cassandra as we climb, panting a little "Cassandra, you have to get out of him, he will know what to do, or he will think of something, but you have to leave him" I demand.

She mimics me like a kid would "you are so annoying, girl. Like a child" she snaps grumpily, obviously not seeing the irony in her sentence or reaction.

I groan and continue after her "we have to...ow!" I yelp, as a clawed hand grabs my ankle, I look down, gripping tightly to the bars of the ladder as I see Casp, trying to get a good hold on my leg, her claws digging into the skin, causing me to wince as I try to pull out of her hold.

"All our good work. All that healing! The good name of the Sisterhood. You have destroyed everything!" She hisses angrily.

"Go and play with a ball of string" Cassandra calls down, not in the mood for the nuns anger.

"Everywhere, disease. This is the human world. Sickness!" She snaps, only for a patient under her on the ladder to grab her own leg, I quickly pull mine out of her grasp and climb a few more rungs up, panting and looking down, seeing blood from the scratches fall down onto the cats pristine white robes as she looks up at me with wide pained and horrified eyes, groaning and gasping as the diseases kill her quickly.

Then she falls, screaming as she does so, I cringe sadly but keep going quickly, smacking Cassandra's feet "go on! Don't stop!" And we climb upwards again quickly.

Overhead we could hear the computerized voice sending out the quarantine message, and Then we get to a lift door, both stopping on the ladder, and under us I could hear the sick begging for help again.

"Now what do we do?" Cassandra asks frantically.

"Use the sonic" I explain quickly, looking back down then up again "its the silver pen like thing in his inner coat pocket, should be at the very top of the pile" I say quickly, she gives me a weird look but roots around, quickly pulling it out, grimacing as she looks at it in slight disgust.

"You mean this thing?"

I nod quickly "yes, that thing"

"But I don't know how! That Doctor's hidden away all his thoughts" she complains, I sigh.

"Fine, we don't have time for this, go back into me. Let him free so he can get us out of here" I say seriously.

She huffs and grips tighter on the ladder "hold on tight" she says a bit sarcastically before transferring herself back into me, and instantly I'm back watching behind my eyes, the headache increasing tenfold, causing her to gasp and grip the bars tighter.

"Oh, fantastic, pain again. Now open it!" She calls up to him, and he glares down at her, one hand holding the sonic and the other holding the ladder.

"Not until you get out of her" he snaps.

"We need the Doctor" she retorts.

"I order you to leave her!" He roars, sonic pointed at her again.

And then again I'm back in control, I grip the ladder tightly, my hands starting to shake a little from the pain and stress.

"Damn it Cassandra!" I growl.

"No matter how difficult the situation, there is no need to shout" she snarks.

I look down past me to see the infected getting closer by the second, so I look up at her quickly "Cassandra, you have to get out of him, you're just a consciousness, you can't get sick" I say, trying to nudge her thinking into the right direction.

"But if I go into you, he simply refuses. He's so rude" she complains.

I glare up at her "Cassandra. You. Can't. Get. Sick" I say again, putting emphasis on each word, and it seems to click then, and she grimaces in disgust.

"Oh. I'm so going to regret this" she complains before leaving him and taking over the woman underneath me, she looks at her hands in disgust "Oh, sweet lord! I look disgusting" she snaps.

I look down to her as the Doctor gets the doors open with the sonic before hopping through it, then he offers me his hand "nice to have you back" I take it and climb up as I hear Cassandra say something.

Just as I get through she hits me again, shoving me back into my own mind again, yet again sending a spike of pain both through my back and my head, she collapses on the floor, her back to the wall as she gasps, staring ahead as the Doctor closed the doors with the sonic.

"That is your last warning, Cassandra" the Doctor snaps, looking down to her.

"Inside her head...they're so alone" she says softly, seemingly in a bit of shock.

"They keep reaching out, just to hold us. All their lives and they've never been touched" she murmurs, her attitude gone for the moment, as she seems to realize the true weight of it all, or at least some of it.

The Doctor holds his hand out to her, she hesitates before taking it and he helps her up, then she jumps as banging sounds against the lift door behind them, the Doctor quickly heads off and she follows, still shaken.

The Doctor opens a side door with the sonic and we step into the ward the Doctor had been in before, seeing Rose sat next to the Face of Boe, she stands, smiling brightly, obviously relieved, but before she can speak the others of the ward rush us, the one woman brandishing a chair and yelling.

The Doctor and Cass quickly hold their hands up in defense "We're safe, we're safe, we're safe! We're clean, we're clean! Look, look" the Doctor says quickly.

"Show me your skin" the woman demands, they both quickly show both sides of their hands "Look! Clean, look. If we'd been touched, we'd be dead"

The woman puts the chair down slowly, Rose comes over quickly, pulling a confused Cassandra into a hug before pulling back, frowning as she looks her over, taking a step back a little, she could tell something was very off, so she looks to the Doctor, who in tern grimaces.

"Rosie isn't in control...it's Cassandra" he explains.

Rose looks to her with wide eyes "the last human...? But how? We saw you die, you tore apart. And now you're in Rosies body? How? And why?" She asks quickly, looking angry now.

Cass quickly takes a step back, glancing to the Doctor before looking back to Rose, she goes to speak but the Doctor interrupts her "no time right now"

He turns to the others in the room, putting his sonic away "hows it going up here? What's the status?"

The same woman who had held the chair, speaks "nothing but silence from the other wards. I think we're the only ones left. Ive been trying to override the quarantine" she explains as she comes over quickly, Rose moves to stand on the Doctor's other side, cautious of Cassandra.

"If I can trip a signal over to New New York, they can send a private executive squad" the woman explains.

"You can't do that. If they forced entry, they'd break quarantine" the Doctor retorts seriously.

"I am not dying in here" she snaps.

"We can't let a single particle of disease get out. There's ten billion people in that city, they'd all be at risk. Now turn that off!" he demands.

"Not if it gets me out" she snaps back.

"all right, fine. So I have to stop you lot as well. Suits me" He starts walking farther into the ward "Rose, Rosie, Novice Hame, everyone! 'Scuse me, your grace" he continues as he pulls out the sonic again, moving to grab the bags beside the man.

"Get me the intravenous solutions for every single disease! Move it!" He yells, and everyone follows his orders, even Cassandra, they all work on grabbing the bags, and as I watched, I just hoped beyond hope that it could also help me, as I knew it would already work for the other patients.

I just watch silently as everything unfolds, the Doctor strapping a bunch of the bags to the rope he wrapped around himself, then he moves to the lift doors, sonicing them open as Cassandra and Rose follow, both worried and confused.

"The lifts aren't working" Cassandra says seriously, staring at him like he was a madman, though, to be fair, she wasn't exactly wrong.

"Not moving, different thing" he retorts, stepping back away from the now open doors a ways.

He puts the metal ring around his arm, getting ready to jump, Rose's eyes widen as she realizes what he's going to do, she tries to step forward to stop him, but she's too slow.

"Here we go" he says, putting his sonic in his mouth before rushing forward, pulling the ring off his arm as he leaps into the shaft, grabbing onto the metal coil.

"What do you think you're doing?" Cassandra demands, Rose beside her now in the doorway as well "Doctor, be careful" she says worriedly.

He tries to talk around the sonic still in his mouth, but they cant understand him.

He gets the metal contraption on the coil and sonics it into place, it clicks loudly and the Doctor grabs onto the handles, looking over at the two women.

"Cassandra, come on. Rose, stay here, make sure that woman doesn't get a call out" he says quickly, Rose nodding and heading back, while Cassandra gives him a look like hes insane.

"Not in a million years"

"I need another pair of hands. What do you think? If you're so desperate to stay alive, why don't you live a little?" He asks.

Behind her the woman from before orders the computer to seal the door as she saw the infected coming through the main doors, Cassandra looks over and realizes she has no other way to go.

So she steps back then yells as she runs and jumps, grabbing into his back tightly so as to not fall.

"You're completely mad. I can see why she likes you" she smirks a little.

"Going down!" The Doctor says quickly before they drop, falling fast with the handles being the only thing keeping them from a total free fall.

And soon they slow and step down onto the top of one of the lifts, Cassandra letting go and stepping back fixing her shirt "well, thats one way to lose weight" she comments.

"Now, listen" the Doctor begins quickly "when I say so, take hold of that lever"

"There's still a quarantine down there, we can't.." she tries to protest, and he snaps "hold that lever!" Which shuts her up quickly.

"I'm cooking up a cocktail. I know a bit about medicine myself" he continues before beginning to rip open each bag with his teeth, then pouring the contents into the large clear tank on the top of the lift, Cassandra watching as she crouches down, grabbing the lever and waiting.

He speaks as he finish emptying the last bag "now, that lever's going to resist, but keep it in position" he explains before moving to the trap door, opening it quickly and looking at her again "hold onto it with everything you've got"

"What about you?" She asks confused.

He lowers himself halfway down and looks up to her "I've got an appointment. The Doctor is in" he says before dropping down.

I watch as she glances down after him then looks back to the lever, seconds later she hears the lift doors opening and the Doctor calling the sick toward him.

"Don't tell them!" Cassandra says angrily.

"Pull that lever" the Doctor says simply before continuing to call sick toward him, she turns back and begins fighting with the lever.

"Commencing stage one disinfection" calls the PA, and then as the Doctor continues to call them, the mix of cures sprays down over him, and then the humans as they come in, getting sprayed as well.

"All they want to do is pass it on. Pass it on!" He cheers, bouncing up and down as Cassandra leans back a little to try and look down while also holding the lever in place.

"Pass on what? Pass on what?" She asks.

After a moment he tells her to let go of the lever, and he helps her drop down.

I cant help but be a little disappointed that I couldn't have been hit by the mix, and it seemed I was too late to try and do anything about it, even with the contact with the Doctor, who was still soaked in it, I could still feel the pain and soreness.

"What did they pass on? Did you kill them? All of them?" She asks confused.

He shakes his head and turns to walk out "No, thats your way of doing things" he says triumphantly, stepping out to the crowd of people now cured, she follows slowly, cautiously.

"I'm the Doctor and I cured them" he exclaims happily.

A woman comes up and hugs the Doctor, relishing in the contact and warmth of another living being, he hugs back gently "thats right. Hey! There we go, sweetheart. Hey?" He says happily, they seemed like children, and the Doctor knew exactly what to do with them.

He gently pushes her towards another "go to him. Go. That's it, thats it" he says gently, turning to look at the others around them, gently grabbing a young man by the shoulders to look at him "It's a new subspecies, Cassandra. A brand-new form of life"

"New humans. Look at them! Look!" He says happily, walking around a bit, overjoyed to have been able to save them.

"Run by cats, kept in the dark, fed by tubes, but completely, completely alive!" He says, kneeling in front of a few, then he turns and points up at Cassandra "you cant deny them, 'cause you helped create them" he stands again, looking over more of the new humans.

"The human race just keeps on going" He stands up fully and looks around the wide open room "keeps on changing. Life will out! Ha!" He laughs happily.

It's not long before the police arrive, shutting down quarantine and getting to work on figuring out what was happening, the Doctor helping along the way as they did, then they head back up to the ward with Jack.

As they enter, Novice Hame is being led away by the cops, making me sad for her, she had been indoctrinated into the mindset of the Sisterhood, and I felt sorry for her.

"All visitors to the hospital will be required to make a statement to the NNYPD" calls a voice over the PA system.

The Doctor then seems to remember the reason we came here in the first place "the Face of Boe!" He says before running ahead to meet him.

Cassandra follows at a slower pace, the Doctor pulling on and buttoning up his jacket that he had taken off to dry faster.

The Face of Boe was moving and awake now as they entered this area of the ward, the Doctor smiling "you were supposed to be dying" he comments.

'There are better things to do today. Dying can wait' responds the big head.

"Oh, I hate telepathy. Just what I need, a head full of big-face" Cassandra snarks, the Doctor shushing her.

'I have grown tired with the universe, Doctor, but you have taught me to look at it anew'

The Doctor steps closer "there are legends, you know, saying that you're millions of years old" the Doctor says curiously, kneeling down in front of the tank.

'Well, now, that would be impossible' Jack replies.

"Wouldn't it just? I got the impression there was something you wanted to tell me, to tell us"

'A great secret'

"So the legends says"

'It can wait' Jack replies, casually.

"Oh, does it have to?" The Doctor asks.

'We shall meet again, Doctor, for the third time, for the last time, and the truth shall be told. Until that day' Jack then looks to Cassandra, over the Doctors shoulder, and I can suddenly hear him in my mind quieter, as if it was just to me.

'Be careful foreseer, for She will lie. And...take care of the doc for me short stuff' he finishes, I can't help but smile mentally as he begins to disappear, being teleported away 'I will, take care Jack' I reply, then he's gone.

Cassandra frowns and wipes at her eyes, confused on why a tear had escaped.

"That is enigmatic. That is...that is textbook enigmatic" the Doctor says, nodding a little for a moment before turning and standing "and now for you" he continues.

"But everything's happy. Everything's fine. Can't you just leave me?" She asks, her heart racing and I could feel her fear spiking.

"You've lived long enough" he says softly "leave that body and end it, Cassandra"

To which she lets out a sob, covering her mouth with her hand and trying to not break down entirely "I don't want to die"

"No one does" the Doctor replies.

"Help me" she begs.

"I can't"

Suddenly they both jump slightly as Chip reappears "mistress!" He calls as he comes up.

"Oh! You're alive!" Cassandra says in shock.

"I kept myself safe for you, mistress" he says happily.

And then it clicks in her head "a body" she murmurs "and not just that. A volunteer" she says, a smirk coming to her lips.

"Don't you dare! He's got a life of his own" the Doctor warns seriously, pointing a finger in her face for emphasis.

"But I worship the mistress" Chip interjects quickly, looking the Doctor in the face, then looking to her again "I welcome her"

"You can't Cassandra. You..." but it was too late, less than a second later I'm back in control, gasping as my back flares and and I start to collapse, the Doctor catches me and I grab onto his arms, gasping and shaking slightly as he looks me over "you all right?" He asks worriedly.

I gulp and nod a little, though it was a total lie, I try to stand on my own, but my legs give out again and he tightens his hold on me, I close my eyes and lean my head against his chest gently, just trying to breath through it, the Doctor snakes his arm around my waist to help support me.

"Shh, it's ok" he murmurs, kissing the top of my head gently.

After a moment I nod and pull back a little, managing to stay upright now, he is hesitant to let go of me but I knew we had to take care of Cassandra first.

"Oh, sweet lord! I'm a walking doodle" Cassandra says, and I cant help it, I laugh and have to cover my mouth, grinning as she playfully glares at me, the Doctor sighs softly.

"You can't stay in there. I'm sorry Cassandra, but it's not fair. I can take you to the city. They can build you a skin-tank and you can stand trial for what you've done" he explains seriously, and my smile fell, my mood turning more somber, knowing exactly what was to come.

"Well, that would be rather dramatic. Possibly my finest hour, and certainly my finest hat" she taps the back of her hat "but I'm afraid we don't have time. Poor little Chip, he's only a half-life. And he's been through so much. His heart is racing so" she pauses at that, seeming to check her internals, and her smile falls a little "he's failing. I don't think he's going to last..." she suddenly collapses, both me and the Doctor launching forward to save her from hitting the ground.

"You all right?" The Doctor asks quickly.

"I'm fine" she responds automatically, hand to her chest now and after a moments pause she continues "im dying. But that's fine" she smiles a little, trying to be ok with it all.

"I can take you to the city" the Doctor offers.

"No, you wont. Everything's new on this planet. There's no place for Chip and me anymore" she admits with a hint of melancholy.

"You were right, Doctor. It's time to die" she says, a quiet pause between us all and she continues "and that's good"

We gently help her stand "come on, there's one last thing I can do" he says softly,

We help her down to the lobby floor, meeting up with Rose who had been giving a witness statement to the police, then the Doctor says he will fetch the Tardis, me and Rose were standing near Cassandra as she sat on a chair quickly, looking around.

I get the urge to speak to her so I come over and kneel next to her chair, catching her attention, I smile a little up at her, she only looks away "I don't hate you, you know" I say softly, catching her by surprise, she looks down to meet my gaze again.

I smile softly "I forgive you for what you did. Yes, you have made many mistakes, but you don't deserve to die thinking everyone hates you. I feel sorry for you, but I do not hate you" I tell her softly, watching as her eyes begin to get glassy with unshed tears.

I stand back up as I hear the Tardis arriving a few feet away, and we say nothing more as we help her inside.

We sit her on the jump seat and all hold on as the Doctor works silently, getting us to where we need to go.

The Tardis makes a dark cloak appear next to me and I grab it, following the Doctor, Rose and Cassandra to the door.

"Cassandra, wear this, it will keep you warm and hidden" I say softly, gently wrapping it around her shoulders, she nods a little and I smile at her again gently "and remember what I said"

She nods softly and manages a small grateful smile before following the Doctor out, Rose not far behind them.

I sigh softly and gently close the door, not following after them, I didn't have the energy, nor the want to see her die.

I move back to the console and lean against it, sighing softly and lowering my head in exhaustion, closing my eyes.

A small smile pulls at my lips as I feel the Tardis humming worriedly around me, warming up the metal under my hands.

I turn and lean back against it gently, looking up at the ceiling "you wouldn't possibly have a magic healing station, would you?" I ask jokingly, and she hums deeply, causing me to pause at that.

"I was joking...there's no way, is there?" I ask curiously, she hums a little uncertainly now.

"So, there is something that can help?" I ask, She hums affirmatively "but you aren't sure how well it will work?" I ask, and she hums a yes again.

I nod a little and glance to the doors "will you be able to do it without his help?" She hums a little uncertainly again and I sigh, nodding.

"Alright...I'll talk to him about it when he gets back" I say softly, moving to sit on the jump seat tiredly, pulling my knees up to my chest carefully and slowly, then wrapping my arms around my knees and resting my head on them, closing my eyes as I try to rest a little.

I must have dozed off a little because I wake up to a hand softly stroking through my short hair, I open my eyes blearily and raise my head a little, smiling tiredly at the Doctor who's crouching in front of the chair, smiling a little sadly.

"Hey" I murmur, his smile widens a little.

"Hello. Come on, why don't we get you to bed" he says, standing back up, I frown for a moment, trying to remember what I needed to tell him, then as I'm stretching my legs back down I remember, as the ache returns to my back.

I nod a little "bed definitely...but first. I'm ..." I frown more as I look down at my hands in my lap, it was taking all the energy I had to admit to being hurt.

"I'm hurt...or sick, or something" I murmur, and instantly I can't feel him knocking on the door into my mind, I give in quickly and open my side, sighing as his mind floods my own, searching for the pain and very worried.

I look up as he crouches in front of me again, worried "whats wrong?" He asks softly, he had taken his long brown coat off again.

"I think I have some kind of nerve damage...in my back" I admit, meeting his eyes for only a moment before looking away again.

He nods and stands, and the next second I'm being pricked up very gently, I yelp in surprise and wrap my arms around his neck for stability, looking down at him as he smiles back gently.

He quickly walks out of the console room and down the corridors, soon ending up in the med bay, I frown as I'm sat on the bed "I'm going to do some scans. Find out what is really going on" he says seriously, taking off his suit jacket and rolling up his sleeves.

I sigh softly and nod, trying to keep my anxiety at bay, though it was already rolling through me in waves, sending my stomach dropping and head feeling a little dizzy.

I look up when he comes over, gently cupping my cheek and meeting my eyes "Hey. It's going to be all right. I promise" he says softly, I lean into his warm touch and nod a little, taking deep breaths to try and calm down, not realizing I had been projecting my anxiety to his mind from mine, but he soon surrounds my own mind with his, sending comfort and warmth.

I relax a little and he helps me to lay down on my stomach, then he grabs some different machines and starts to scan from the back of my neck down to my feet, I rest my head on my arms and close my eyes tiredly.

After some time I feel the bed dip a little and I open my eyes to see the Doctor sitting on the edge next to me, gently laying his hand on my upper back.

"Anything?" I ask softly.

He nods "I think I found the source of the problem. But it's good news" he says and smiles.

I frown in confusion and look up to him curiously "good news?"

He nods again "the sciatic nerve in your back and down your legs has been torn and is damaged and maybe burned" he raises his free hand to stop me when I go to say that wasnt good news "the good news bit, is that I have the technology to heal it in a matter of hours" he continues.

I relax fully now, sighing softly and leaning into his touch on my back "thank goodness...will it be painful?" I ask softly.

"It will be at first, but it shouldn't be bad. I think it would be best if you could stay here in the med bay, but if you'd like, I can help move you to our room and you can sleep on the bed while its being done"

I think it over for a moment tiredly before shaking my head "I'll just stay here, I don't have the energy to try and move" I admit, and he nods, chuckling a little and leaning down to kiss the side of my head.

"Alright, I'll stay here with you through it all" he says, I nod and thank him quickly before he gets up and sets up the machinery he needed to, I just watch him quietly, my anxiety nearly gone now, probably because he continuously sent me reassurance and care through the bond.

Once he finishes getting it ready, he gently places a cool metal box on my lower back, arms hanging down from the ceiling clip onto it and he steps back, moving to press a button.

The machine seems to wake up, the arms gripping the box and picking it up off me by about an inch before a bright green light shines under it, I close my eyes to protect them from the light and I can feel a hot pain radiating through my back, I groan a little and feel a hand gently laid on my arm.

"It's alright, its just the beginning, it will stop soon" he reassures, I nod a little and try to occupy my mind to ignore the pain.

But just as he said, the pain does fade and I'm left with just feeling a warmth from it, I relax more and reach out, gently grabbing the sleeve of his shirt "will you stay even if I fall asleep?" I ask softly, still nervous to be alone in a room so close to being a hospital.

He gently takes my hand in both of his "I won't leave. Get some sleep Love" he says reassuringly.

I nod again and almost instantly start to doze off, sensing his slight humor at how fast I was out.
