Act Eleven
After a while, as the sun sets, the gang is able to row all the way to Metzger Marsh. They all board out, but mostly Lori with a heavy heart.
Cheetor: Lori. What happened?
Lori: [sniffs] Optimus… didn't make it.
That comes to a shock with the Maximals. For hearing their leader to be offline; killed by Megatron.
Cheetor: No…. How?
Rhys: [guilty] I think… it was me. But I didn't mean to!
Dinobot: And now… Megatron has the Positron Matrix.
Cheetor: We need to get out of here.
Back in the Dragozaur domain, the Predacons come to Basilo Dragon on his altar to hear about the news. The fliers are wet and Spittor has his arm detached. Drago Fang's holding the Matrix in his grasp.
Fang: You killed Optimus by pulling this thing out?
Megatron: Not really. The Positron Matrix is only a medal. Optimus was terminated by a human child, not the one we're after.
Fang: So then this thing is useless. I'll crush it!
Megatron: No!
While denying that suggestion, Megatron grapples the Matrix and pulls back to him.
Megatron: We might still have a chance.
Basilo Dragon: What makes you think so?
Megatron: As far as we know, Optimus would be presumed dead, yeesss. With that, I know just how the weakling Maximals will respond to their leader's death. Confusion! Bickering! Recriminations! The perfect opportunity for a surprise attack, or we can just hold the Matrix for ransom… for the indicator.
Spittor: Terrorsaur still has the download. We can just use it instead.
With fury, Megatron berates Spittor and hits him with his detached arm.
Megatron: I can't even rely on it to swat a simple anthropoid.
Terrorsaur: One anthropoid among eight billion. She could be anywhere.
Megatron: Are there any more I like to hear?
Liger: Well, you'll like this part. I've been lacking to kill three Maximals. But my bite on each of them puts them into a… transformation lock.
[3 second silence]
Megatron: Then perhaps we might have the advantage.
Being so doubtful to Liger, Spittor regains his bearings and reattaches his arm.
Spittor: If that is true, it has been a while since any of you have done something right against the Maximals.
Liger: Because it has been a while for a Dragozaur to be successful at all costs.
Spittor: Really, now? Because the bonehead under my recent command back in Italy was utterly useless.
Liger: [growls]
Basilo Dragon: Silence. We will force them to find her for us! It's time for the world to know of our presence. No more disguises. No mercy! The time has come for my revelation.
Back in Ottawa, Roman is playing his video games while Kristy is in the kitchen, cooking supper. Just then, the phone rings and Roman answers it, but whatever he's looking concerned about.
Roman: Hey mom, the dean for Lori's college is on the phone.
Kristy: Tell him I'll be there. I was going to come over to congratulate her on her first class.
Roman: But they're saying she's been kidnapped.
Kristy: [shocked] What?!
The TV shows a broadcast of Basilo Dragon, revealing his existence to them and the rest of the world's public.
Basilo Dragon: Attention, citizens of the planet Earth. We are now in full control of your planet and we decree on this day forward. You will surrender to me Lori Roswell. Resist us and your planet's death will be immediate.
Back in the Level 3 hangar at Cape Canaveral, Rhinox is trying to contact Optimus through the comm. link, but no response at all.
Rhinox: Rhinox to Optimus…. Optimus-do you read?
Suddenly, a rumbling noise just happens from outside. Everyone gets outside the hangar when it is surrounded by the military, aiming their guns at the Maximals.
Silverbolt: What is the meaning of this?
Cybershark: Ye dare point a gun at me? Ye want a piece of me?
Travis: Drop your weapons! Drop your weapons!
Roderick: Whoa, whoa, whoa! Drop your weapons!
Owen: Soldier, tell them to lower their weapons!
Military officer: Tell them first.
Owen: Tell them to lower their weap-
Military officer: Agent, there's nothing I can do. Talk to him.
General Norris comes out of the nearest truck, consulting Owen and the MARS team only.
Norris: Your MARS team is deactivated. You are to cease anti-Predacon operations and return to the Pentagon pending further orders.
Greg: No, we take our orders directly from special agent Black, sir.
Norris: Well, I'll see your Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and I will raise you a President of the United States. I have an operational command now. I made a bet on Primal, to see if he can't handle this, it looks like he failed, and look at the result. The secret is out! This is our war now. And we will win it as we always have, with a coordinated military strategy.
Greg: You don't know these guys at all. You're gonna need every asset that you've got.
Norris: What we need is to draw up battle plans while we explore every possible diplomatic solution.
Owen: Like what, handing over the kid?
Norris: [pauses] All options are being considered. In the meantime, Oswald and his men are coming with us. So carry the order, or you're all under arrest!
Greg is stunned by the general's statement. With a glare, he carries out the mission as his team are being carried to their vehicles, driving away from the Maximals.
Silverbolt: What now? Leave the planet?
Kickback: That's not what Optimus would want.
Suddenly, Dragozaurs and Predacons fly around the Maximals, surrounding them. The Maximals are outgunned, outnumbered. Owen comes over only before Basilo Dragon flies into the place. He quickly transforms into a humanoid warrior.
Basilo Dragon: Level 3. You and your Maximals are to surrender yourselves to the Dragozaurs.
Owen: Not a chance, dragon-boy. They follow orders from Optimus Primal.
Megatron: Not anymore. No. Optimus Primal is terminated.
For proof, Megatron shows to the Maximals that he has the Positron Matrix in his hand.
Megatron: Unless you revert to beast mode and surrender, your precious artefact will be crushed.
Owen: [to Rhinox] Don't.
Rhinox: No choice. We must honour our most sacred code. Beast mode.
The Maximals could not allow this. But since the Matrix's in Meagtron's hands, they have to revert to beast mode.
Basilo Dragon: Good. Now here's my first order: find Lori Roswell for me.
Act Twelve
Back with Lori, she sits down hugging her legs while crying. She's still bummed about Optimus's death. Cheetor comes over to check up on her.
Lori: It's all my fault, Cheetor. I didn't heed his warning.
She continues crying as she hugs Cheetor on the torso. The others come over with Alexis and Rhys taking pity on her.
Rattrap: There's nothing you could've done, kid. The boss monkey was willing to put out his life for Earth.
Dinobot: For once, I agree with the rodent. But I shall ensure our leader's funeral is a glorious one, as befits a warrior who died in battle!
Cheetor: Hey, hold on. We can't bring that out now.
Dinobot: So you get to talk? And after you were walking into college like a circus clown?!
Cheetor: [snarls]
Rattrap: Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, you guys! As much as I like to see the both of ya scrap yourselves, save it for my birthday. Right now, we've got bigger concerns.
Alexis: Pardon me, but aren't you gonna introduce us, Lori?
Whipping out all her tears, Lori accepts Alexis's offer before standing up.
Lori: Sure. These animals are my robot friends. Dinobot, Rattrap and Cheetor.
Rhys: I have a question though. Where did you get these guys?
Lori: From… the Boulder City attack.
That info gives Rhys and Alexis a shock. For hearing that Lori was at Boulder City during the attack.
Alexis: You were there? Why didn't you say so?
Lori: I promised these robots, the Maximals, to keep it a secret. But since you met their enemies, the Predacons, I think you've seen the truth.
Rhys: That… "Megatron" guy. He said something about you having powers and whatnot. What kind is it?
Dinobot: The reason why we're with her. She inherits an exposure of our race's origin. She can translate and navigate anything on Earth. But we must move on!
Rattrap: Whoa, whoa, whoa! Wait, stand by here! Who died and made you Prime, scaleface?
Dinobot: Optimus was terminated by his own brother. The very leader of the Predacons. And no one knows his vulnerability better than me.
Rattrap: Oh yeah? Well, I wouldn't rely on you to mow a lawn.
Rattrap and Dinobot are about to begin their brawl, but Lori reluctantly steps between to stop them.
Lori: Stop it! No more fighting. I've seen enough violence for one day. Is this what Optimus would want?
Cheetor: No, he wouldn't. Not like this.
Rhys: Well, there can be a way to have a leader, and that's by voting.
Dinobot: Voting? If we vote, our enemies would conquer the planet! I say we do the quickest way for leadership, fighting for it.
Dinobot is about to fight Cheetor and Rattrap, but there's an interrupting from Optimus's voice coming from Rhys's dagger.
Optimus's voice: Maximals, come in! Do you read? Maximals, come in! This is Optimus!
Cheetor: Optimus? He's alive?
Rhys: So I didn't kill him?
Lori grabs hold of the stone dagger, starting her communications with the Maximal leader.
Lori: Optimus, it's Lori. Where are you?
Optimus's voice: Hard to say. As near as I can figure, I have no body. My conscience is intact, and I'm currently stored inside the dagger.
Rattrap: We'll getcha out of there, just keep static.
Optimus's voice: Listen. The Dragozaurs will invade soon, and seize all life on this planet. Your task would be to find a way to stop them. Lori, you're in charge of whatever you've established. Just don't let me down.
Rhys: Well, what's the order?
Lori: Wait a second, Rhys. Why would you help us? We just met like a few days ago.
Rhys: True. I may be a stranger, but nobody should turn their back on those who need help.
Alexis: He has a point. And I'm coming with you too. I really like to see some action going on and we're roommates.
Lori never felt this way before, being asked to help her out. So she agrees with their company.
Cheetor: Optimus said we need a way to stop the Dragozaurs. But what?
Dinobot: I'm afraid we don't know. What I'm more curious about is the dagger. We would need to know what it is or where it came from.
Rhys: Well… I don't know about this dagger either, but I know who it was that found it. He shouldn't live too far from here.
Act Thirteen
The next morning, the gang arrives at Chicago, Illinois-through the sewers. Lifting a manhole, they find Chicago Pizza & Oven Grinder Company on North Clarks street.
Rhys: This is it. Dr. Arbuckle's family works here.
Lori: What was he a doctor of?
Rhys: Palaeontology. He has a wife and son here. But, um… he doesn't like me much.
Without anyone looking, they sneak out of the manhole and hide the Maximals in the back.
Alexis: I'll do it. Just give me the name, and I might soften him out for us.
Rhys: Okay. Just ask for his son. His name's Jamie.
Inside the restaurant, the trio finds a couple of bartenders, Jame Arbuckle and his mother, at the booth.
Jamie: Alright. We've got an order for eight extra-large pizzas performing for Chicago's 29 minute guarantee. Time to get it hooked up.
Mrs. Arbuckle: I told you the guarantee is "31" minutes.
Jamie: Ma, ya think the customers would buy that?
Mrs. Arbuckle: We don't have the means to do so.
Jamie: I'm like a ninja with a blade that does the impossible. Don't make me shove my foot up yo ass.
Alexis: Jamie?
Jamie: Yeah, wassup?
Alexis: I'm looking for some assistance.
Suddenly, Jamie's eyes are widened when he sees Rhys right before his eyes.
[3 second silence]
Jamie: [to the customers] Pizza joint's closed! Everybody out! Come on out!
Jamie clears the restaurant empty of any customer as the girl looks at Rhys for some reason.
Lori: So, why does he dislike you?
Rhys: Just a disagreement.
Jamie: Disagreement? Man, that's not what happened. My dad finds something that could pay for the house, and your money-craved uncle shows up to bribe us to give it away. And look at you. Coming to our house and getting something from me again? No pizza, nigga. Dig?
Woman: Jamie, where's the mozzarella?
Jamie: In the fridge, mom. Where all the cheeses go, yo.
Alexis: You live with your mother?
Jamie: No, bra, she lives with me. There's a difference.
Lori: Jamie, we need to speak to your father.
Jamie: Sorry, kid. Can't help ya.
Lori: Why not?
Jamie: Two words: he passed on. That's why.
Confused, the kids count on fingers. Jamie is about to take his leave, but Rhys blocks his way.
Rhys: This is urgent. Just hear me out.
Jamie: You're wasting my time, so piss off.
Lori: Do you recognize this?
Lori thrusts the dagger into his hands. Jamie is taken aback. The kids have his attention. Jamie holds the dagger close to his face, stunned.
Jamie: You're giving it back?
Rhys: Now, will you listen? Lori lost a friend, he disappeared all of a sudden, but we all heard his voice coming from this dagger like a walkie-talkie, and we're here because your father discovered it.
Jamie: Well, that sounds like World of Warcraft bullshit.
Lori: No, this is serious. This is about aliens, two sides fighting for whatever fate we've got. You don't believe us, we can call someone named agent Black to tell you.
Hearing that, Jamie looks back at Lori, widening his eyes and curious.
Jamie: Agent Black. Owen Black?
Lori: Yeah, that's the one.
Jamie: Upstairs. Hurry.
After letting the Maximals in the restaurant, the gang follows Jamie upstairs to a closed door.
Jamie: Listen up, homeys. What y'all are about to see is top secret…. Do not tell my mother.
He opens the door, letting them enter his room before closing it shut. There are paper files on every bookshelf in almost every corner. Lori finds a jacket with the Level 3 emblem.
Lori: Your dad was in Level 3?
Jamie: That's right. Now let me ask you something. Does this symbol look identical to you?
Jamie pulls out a file filled with fossil pictures and puts it on a table in the middle of the room. He takes out one photo of a fossilized skull with the same insignia of the Dragozaurs.
Lori: Yeah.
Cheetor: That's the symbol of the Dragozaurs. Where'd you get this?
Jamie: Before my father retired, his ways of national security were involving palaeontology, only to point out one inescapable fact. Aliens have been on Earth for a super-long time. How did he know that? Simple.
Jamie takes out more photos. Some old, but some new, all showing the Dragozaur symbol.
Jamie: Palaeontologists have been finding this unexplained symbol in fossilized bones all over the world. China, Egypt, England, and a whole bunch of others since the 1890s, when the world learns about dinosaurs. Every single one of these finds makes us think of alien circumstances. But none of them has proven my dad's theory… and he took these photos. Dinosaurs from separate periods and countries being together. So many footprints found in the Bear Lodge Mountains. In 2000, this was found.
While Dinobot is looking at the footprints photo, Jamie picks out a fossilized imprint of the dagger from a box and puts it on the table.
Jamie: This is where he found the dagger from Crook Country. My dad showed it to the committee, but he was called a lunatic, calling it fake. I've spent years researching on this, found no answers, then this guy's uncle comes here to buy it from us, so he can have it himself.
Dinobot's done looking at the photo, but reacts as if he sees something interesting about it.
Dinobot: These footprints you say? I know these patterns. This is, perhaps, the fossil of a battleground.
Rhys: Are you sure?
Rattrap: You better believe it. Chopperface knows a battle scene better than doing it himself.
Dinobot: You see, if this dagger is as old as the dinosaurs when they went extinct, that should mean something was fighting. This must mean the Dragosaurs were fighting someone or something on Earth.
Lori: If that's true, then this dagger might belong to someone.
Rhys: Good point. If this… thing stopped them from taking over the Earth, it might work if we ask it to do it again. That must be what Optimus meant.
Alexis: And the next thing we'd need to do is find a way to get him out of the dagger, right? But how?
Cheetor: There can be a way. Some of Cybertron's computers can scan an item and trace where it originates from.
Jamie: Then, we're screwed, unless you guys have one of those computers.
Rattrap: We do, but we're all in a transformation lock. We've got no means to analyse anything.
Lori: Actually, I know one.
Lori puts down her school bag and lets out Stampy to stand there. The Maximals are surprised to see another robot with them.
Stampy: God. My freaking head.
Dinobot: Who's that? Another Maximal?
Rattrap: It is. But I thought he remained on Cybertron.
Stampy: [to Lori] Ya wanna whack me again like you did last time?
Lori: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. But if you do us a favour, then I can go easy on you. Can you analyse this for us?
Stampy witnesses the dagger before picking it up for closer analysis. After scanning it, he finds a solution.
Stampy: Ah. By the Matrix, this dagger is fuelled with something immense.
Cheetor: Energon?
Stampy: Nu-uh. Life force. An equivalent of Energon. It's been crystallized with Earth's life force millions of years ago. I don't know who did it. I just got here, but if I analyse it, I can find whatever relies on it.
Jamie: Show us.
Accepting the offer, Stampy takes out one of his gadgets, scans the dagger again and it projects a map of the United States. The gang finds pinpoints on Edmonton, Washington and Chicago.
Jamie: The closest one's here.
Act Fourteen
After a while, the gang takes a ride in Jamie's Hummer to Museum Campus. But when they get there, the way it is blocked by dividers.
Alexis: Oh no. It's closed.
Jamie: Maybe you haven't heard of it. It's been this way since the manhunt for Lori. The mayor blocked this campus to make sure she wouldn't hide in any crowd.
Stampy: We don't have to go to the museum. He's standing outside.
Lori doesn't know where the host is. So she decides to use her navigation with her eyes closed. She picks up something strong before opening her eyes and marches out of the car.
Rattrap: Hey! Where're ya going?!
The rest of the gang follow her running friend across the Field Museum's parking lot. She keeps going because she knows where she detects it.
Lori: There he is!
She stops in front of the Brachiosaurus skeleton mounted outside the building. The gang rendezvous with her to see the dinosaur skeleton as well. They then realize that this is who Stampy pinpointed close by. Alexis begins to film it.
Jamie: Brachiosaurus? Holy shit. That's a big dude.
Stampy: Ah this is it. This guy's in deep stasis, but with life force, he'll be up and running again. Like reviving the dead. [to Lori] Yo, freshman, tap the dagger at him and watch the magic happen.
Taking his word, Lori carefully steps forth to tap the dagger at the dinosaur's front leg. Suddenly, it zaps the entire skeleton, making its body reanimated. It's bones are twitching a bit and Lori finds the Dragozaur insignia on its angle.
Lori: Oh shit! It's a Dragozaur.
Dinobot: [alarmed] Oh no.
Rhys: [panicked] Behind the trees! Hurry!
As the gang hide behind the trees, the Dragozaur is now revived. He begins coughing a lot until he sees where he is and the gang.
Brachiosaur: What sort of hideous mausoleum is this? Answer me, hairless mammals! Show yourselves or… [coughs] suffer my infinite wrath!
Not wishing to cause so much trouble, the gang one by one stops hiding from behind the trees. The black dinosaur starts to walk down as he coughs again. The dinosaur instantly transforms into a humanoid warrior.
Brachiosaur: I'm on a tight schedule here. [coughs] Damn it! Beware the terrifying horror of… Drago Brachus!
Cheetor: He's a Dragozaur? He seems to be docile.
Brachus is about to walk into the city, but Lori steps in front of him to stop him from going.
Lori: Wait! We just want to talk.
Brachus: I have no time to talk. I need to know where I am. What land am I in?
Jamie: Illinois.
Brachus: Illinois? Terrible name for a land. But it's not like the name "Dragozaur". Those bastards have got to get it through their heads.
Alexis: You sound like you hate them. But aren't you one of them?
Brachus: Nah. I never was. I'm an Earth-dweller like yourselves. They took me apart, turned me into this bullshit alien foot soldier. Now I'm back, I'm on your side.
Rhys: What do you mean you're on our side?
Dinobot: It's a choice. It's an intensely personal decision for all beings. So much negativity. And I know this because I was a Predacon once… mistreated and abandoned by Megatron.
Rattrap: Yeah. But were you saying something, longneck?
Provoked, Brachus stomps his foot down that makes everyone fall on their backs.
Brachus: I told you my name was Brachus! So stop judging me!
Stampy: Somebody got up on the wrong side of the bed.
Brachus: I have issues of my own, and it started with my herd! My ancestors have been here for centuries. My grandpa, why, he was the leader! The first leader. Do you know what he transformed into?
Jamie: No.
Brachus: Nothing! Dignity, damn it! [coughs] Goddamn son of a bitch!
Lori: Calm down. Let's just relax, okay? We need to ask what you know about the Dragozaurs?
Brachus: Well, plenty. They resumed to be death eaters. Led by their warrior king, Basilo Dragon. He's terrible to work for. He only cares about apocalypse, chaos, crisis and shit.
Rhys: And this?
Rhys takes out the dagger, showing it to Brachus. Brachus kneels down to peer at the item.
Brachus: The dagger. You've found it?
Jamie: Actually, my dad found it, but this nigga's uncle stole it.
Suddenly, a missile fire hits beside them, causing a panic.
Rattrap: Yoiks! A missile fire!
The military is approaching the gang, shooting their tanks at Brachus as he blocks it with his arms. General Norris gets out of the truck, giving the order.
Norris: Take aim at the dinosaur, and get the girl.
Brachus carries the gang in his hands before reverting to his dinosaur form with them on his back.
Brachus: Hold on, everybody. Stay on my back or you'll die!
Brachus turns into a ball of light and it flies off to somewhere else that result in the Army to misfire. The gang arrives at the country side of the USA, but scattered themselves in every corner of their area. None of them gets hurt pretty bad, but they're okay. Dinobot stands up and steps on Rattrap's foot. Rattrap screams in agony but Dinobots steps off him.
Rattrap: Hey, look out, will ya?! That's my foot moron!
Brachus: God. That wasn't so bad.
Lori and Rhys open their eyes, but only to find themselves hugging each other with fear. They regain their bearings and pretend nothing awkward happened.
The gang, including Brachus, rendezvous to each other as the Maximals finally revert into robot mode.
Cheetor: Finally. I can stretch my legs.
Rattrap: I don't know what happened, but it must've… deactivated the mode lock.
Jamie: [to Brachus] That really hurt, homey. You're just lucky that I'm too small. Otherwise I would shove my big toe up your nose. Ya dig, cracker? And if I would have gotten hurt, you would've heard from my-
Brachus: Pipe down, pipsqueak! All I did was igniting my energy pod. It's the fastest way to travel to Wyoming.
Lori: What are you… why did you tell us now? You didn't tell us anything. Why are we in Wyoming?
Brachus: Don't you get shitty with me, mammal. I was only doing what's right.
Lori: Can you just stop for a second? Can you focus? Can you tell us why we're in Wyoming so we can all have a little bit of semblance of peace of mind?
Brachus: Of course. This planet was visited by aliens before during the time of the dinosaurs. We mainly relied on Earth's life force. The energy source that keeps life sustainable. Without it, the planet becomes lifeless and ruined. First they turn old, then fall down! Do you have any idea what it's like to fall down to death?!
Rattrap: Let's not get episodic, ya dig, old-timer? Beginning, middle, end, facts, details, condense, plot, tell it.
Brachus: Alright, okay, fine. Somewhere, buried in this state, the Dragozaurs invented a great machine that can harvest Earth's life force in less than 15 minutes. They call it Darkmount.
Rhys: Darkmount? That's a pretty cool name.
Lori: But the Dragozaurs. What happened back then?
Brachus: Easy. In the beginning, the Earth was protected by the Ancients. A race of immortal beings that watches over us from the heavens above. The Dragozaurs came here to harvest Earth's life force, but the Ancients chose an army of Earth-animals to prevent them. And these creatures, for ever more, were… the dinosaurs.
Like magic, Brachus shines a light from his eyes, showing a holographic of what happened in prehistory, when the Dragozaurs invaded the Earth.
Brachus: A small army of them were chosen, calling themselves the Dino-Knights. Basilo Dragon, the Dragozaurs' warrior king, wanted to kill them all by turning on Darkmount. The only way to activate it is with a powerful tool called the Silver Sword. A great battle took place over possession of the sword and the Earth. Basilo was no match against one of the Dino-Knights, so they had the chance to steal… and hide it from him. When the meteorite struck, they moved on to hide the sword in a valley also made by the Ancients themselves. A valley… no one can find.
At the end of the story, the hologram fades away for good.
Brachus: However, Darkmount still remains. Basilo knows where it is and if he finds the secret valley, this world will be no more.
Rhys: Okay. So how do we stop him?
Brachus: Only an apex predator can defeat the Dragon. And that would be the Dino-Knights' leader: Dino Tyrannus.
Rhys: "Tyrannus". As in… a Tyrannosaurus Rex? That's what he is? Cause he's gotta be the coolest. Are there… more like him? Other T-Rexes?
Brachus: [saddened] His… entire family was wiped out from Basilo's reign.
Rhys: So… he's the last of his kind?
Bracchus: I'm afraid so. He's our only hope, but finding the valley is impossible.
Lori: And the dagger. Does it have anymore powers?
Brachus: It does. It can store in the victim when it's on the brink of death. As soon as the victim's healed up, he gets extracted.
Cheetor: Then Optimus will come back.
Brachus: But in 40 hours. But what's more important is finding the valley to stop Basilo.
Lori: Maybe I can find it. I have navigating powers in my blood. It can help.
Rhys: [to Lori] Excuse me, but you have to search the entire country and that would take forever.
Brachus: Have faith in your girlfriend, son. Whatever it takes, if our enemies will rise again, the valley's discovery must be tolerated. Find the valley. Go now, go.
Accepting his word, the gang moves on leaving Drago Brachus behind. The gang are on the march. They venture through the forest to find the secret valley.
Rhys: [to Lori] How do you suppose we do this?
Lori: You just believe in me, Rhys. But before we go any further, I gotta call some friends of mine.
Lori pulls out her iPhone to give the Maximals a call about the good news.
Act Fifteen
Back in Chicago, Greg and his team are doing an investigation around the Museum Campus for analysis. Just then, a phone starts ringing, and Greg answers it.
Greg: Hello?
Lori: [through speakers] Greg? It's Lori. I need to speak to Rhinox.
Greg: Kid? This won't work. General Norris has decommissioned MARS, and we're now stripped from being with the Maximals or Level 3. But what's the situation?
Lori: Listen. We just met a Brachiosaur transformer, and he says there's an army of dinosaurs just like him that could stop the Dragozaurs.
Greg: Really? That would be good news, if the general was in the mood. But right now, remain under radio silence. I'll try to see what we can do.
As soon as Norris arrives, Greg hangs up on Lori and pays attention to him.
Norris: It was Roswell, wasn't it?
Travis: We don't know what you mean, sir.
Norris: Don't try to think I don't know. We know she was a lonely kid, and the only human friends she's ever made were you three. If you both wish for her welfare, start talking.
Greg: She claims she knows how to stop the enemy.
Soldier: Sir, we just picked up a signal all the way in Wyoming. Could the suspect we've lost.
Norris: Gentlemen, we must move on. Keep tracing her phone, and let's move out!
As Norris takes his leave, the team stays behind to glare at him for his personality.
Roderick: I don't like him. I don't like him one bit. He's a total asshole.
Travis: Me neither, but there are some people like him in the world.
Back on Cape Canaveral, with the Maximals and Owen in cages, the Predacon fliers are having a discussion with Megatron and Basilo Dragon.
Waspinator: Area secured… as ordered.
Megatron: Then why do I see only these people? Don't they have more human allies?
Terrorsaur: They're nothing to worry about, Megatron. They're only the soldiers from two stellar cycles ago. The three of them are nothing.
Basilo Dragon: They're probably heading out to find the girl for us.
Liger: Hey, Megatron. We've got a communication.
Megatron arrives with Basilo at the communicating computer where they receive a call from Lori.
Lori: Rhinox. Come in.
Megatron: Ah. Lori Roswell. Yes. State your business.
Lori: Megatron? What did you do with-
Megatron: Alas, they are still active. The Maximals are now under my control.
Realizing that it's too late, Lori has to think of something. Then she devises a plan.
Lori: Listen. If you don't think you're an errand-boy, then you can respond to my word. I still have my navigating power. I can lead you to the richest point of energy. But you would have to fork over that Positron Matrix before it's too late.
Megatron: And why, pray tell, should I do so?
Lori: Because I'm heading down to clobber you with my army of Dino-Knights.
From the sound of that, Basilo Dragon looks shocked. He knows this will be bad news.
Megatron: Any plan you make will be terminated. I would have to refuse your proposal. Megatron-out.
Basilo Dragon: What?! [to Megatron] You allowed them to reach my enemies?!
Megatron: My king. We never-
Megatron feels tortured by Basilo with all his fury.
Megatron: I'd never meant for all this. No. I swear upon the Matrix we can handle this situation.
Basilo Dragon: Then we must strike at once. And you owe me a heart. If it's not the one belonging to a Maximal, it had better be Lori's!
Meanwhile, all the way in Wyoming's countryside, the gang are hiking through the wilderness. They've become pretty exhausted from the journey and Lori's leading the way.
Rhys: Are you guys sure we can rely on that dinosaur? He might be tricking us.
Cheetor: We don't have a choice. Optimus's offline and our friends are at risk.
Rhys: I'm just saying.
Dinobot: We have no other options. Despite the fact we don't know anything about this dagger, anyone who speaks about a way to revive the dead may be knowledgeable.
Rattrap: [sarcastic] Oh yeah? Well, I hope so too, for your sake.
Dinobot: Excuse me. Are you implying that our leader's situation was somehow… my responsibility?!
Rattrap: Well, you would've been his backup, gearhead!
Dinobot: You would do so yourself, cheese lips!
Rattrap: Pre-evolved birdbrain!
Dinobot: Eater of garbage!
Cheetor: [annoyed] Sheesh, and they call me the immature one.
Lori: Guys, guys. We're exhausted. We should get a ride or something.
Jamie: And where can we get one in the middle of nowhere?
[gunfire]
That gunfire frightens Stampy, making him scream and jump onto Dinobot's back with sharp claws. Dinobot, panicking with the claws, struggles to get him off.
Dinobot: Get this thing off me! I can't reach it! Get it off!
Jamie: Hold still, homey. I got this.
Jamie removes Stampy from Dinobot's back as the girls are giggling at the event.
Alexis: [to Dinobot] Got you right in the one place you can't reach, didn't he?
Lori: Stampy. Did you just scream like a little girl?
Stampy: No…. Maybe…. Can we talk about this later?
Rattrap: Yeah, but who fired?
Cheetor: It wasn't me.
There's another gunfire. The gang follows it to a hunter grabbing a deer. But then, he spotted them.
Hunter: Oh shit!
Jamie chases after the hunter, then Cheetor joins in to corner him to the side of a parked, pickup truck.
Jamie: How stupid are you, to hunt in the wilds without a permit, Kay?
Kay: I have a permit; I just got it.
Jamie: How 'bout you give us the keys to your truck, and we'll leave you alone.
Kay: I ain't given you any key to my truck. It's my truck.
Rhys: Look, we don't have time for this. We need a ride because we have to.
Kay: Screw the lot of ya'll.
Much to Dinobot's anguish, he zapped Kay at the shoulder with his optic laser, causing the gang to be shocked and the hunter in pain.
Lori: Dinobot!
Dinobot: He said a curse word.
Kay: He shot me.
Jamie glares at Dinobot, but he turns back to Kay with an idea.
Jamie: Yeah, he shot yo ass. You damn right he shot yo ass. He gon' shoot you again.
Kay: No, no, no!
Jamie: Cause he crazy. I can't handle this.
Dinobot: I'm crazy?
Getting the idea, Rattrap rushes in and grabs Kay by the shirt.
Rattrap: He's crazy, but I'm morso! How about I do so, eh?!
Kay: No, wait. You win. Take the keys.
Kay throws the keys to Jamie, and he runs away from the scene, dropping his gun and leaving the dead deer behind.
Act Sixteen
Later, the gang are in the truck with Jamie driving it. Lori and Rhys are both sitting together at the back side of the truck, looking at the valley as they pass by it. Rhys holds onto the dagger, having some thought about it.
Lori: Rhys? I never had the chance to say thank you for helping me. It… really means a lot to me.
Rhys: To be honest, I…. I wanted this from the start.
Lori: What do you mean?
Rhys: Remember when you told your class about those symbols you've been studying? You once said they mean something. When I heard about that, I figured it could mean a language. You see, I've been studying the mysteries for the lost city of Atlantis.
Lori: [awed] Really? That's what I once thought of too. But it turns out, it was a Cybertronian language. Their language. So it would've been proven wrong.
Rhys: Yeah, well, I wanted to go ask, see them myself. Then there were negative comments and insults from all the schoolmates, making fun of you. I wanted to stand up for you.
Lori: Why didn't you?
Rhys: Well, you're not the only one who was made of. I was the only one in my class studying what nobody believes in. If I stand up for you at that moment, then it would make a big scene. I knew it would make it worse for you, so I just stood by and pretended I didn't matter. But…. It still haunts me.
Lori looks at Rhys with a warm smile, and she reaches out to hold onto his hand, which makes him nervous.
Lori: Better late than never, Rhys. You stood up for me. Even if you didn't do it back then, I'd still appreciate you.
The two of them are locking their eyes together, having a moment with each other. All of a sudden, a web lashes onto both of them, and they get pulled up in the air. Alexis turns back to notice what happened.
Alexis: Lori! Rhys!
Lori and Rhys are being pulled up by Wolfang up in the trees like an ordinary spider trapping its prey.
Wolfang: {black face} Looky here. Two couples in one web. {red face} Too bad it makes me sick!
Rhys: Lori, hang onto me!
As Lori holds his arm in fright, Rhys uses the dagger to cut themselves free, and they fall down, but Rhys catches Lori in his arms. Wolfang jumps down to tackle them, but Cheetor arrives on his rollar wheels to knock the Predacon away.
Wolfang: {blue face} Maybe I should've confiscated the knife first.
Cheetor: Quickly, on my back.
As Cheetor holds Lori in his arms and Rhys on his back, he rolls away to head back to the truck.
Meanwhile, the rest of the gang look back to find Cheetor rolling back to them, but he's being chased by Megatron riding on Guiledart.
Alexis: We've got company!
Rattrap jumps out of the truck and, as he folds up his legs, starts driving towards them on wheels.
Megatron fires his shotgun at the ground, creating a shockwave at Cheetor's footing, then the latter is flown to the air, scattering him and the two humans he's carrying. Cheetor grabs hold of a tree and grabs Rhys, but Lori is still falling. Then Rattrap grabs her before she hits the ground.
Rattrap: I gotcha, kid!
Megatron: Guiledart, after her!
Guiledart gives the order. Two rocket boosters flipp out of the sides of the dino torso, and he begins chasing Rattrap through a field of geysers. The gang in the truck watch them from afar.
Alexis: Why aren't they shooting at Lori?
Dinobot: They want her alive.
Rattrap keeps up running from them as fast as he can. Dinobot fires his optic lasers at Megatron, then he fires back as Guiledart proceeds chasing after them. With an idea, Lori redirects Rattrap over a geyser; when Guiledart jumps over it, the geyser blows at him, hitting them hard.
As the gang make their escape, Megatron is succumbed to an Energon build-up for sustaining damages, so he converts back to beast mode. Terrorsaur swoops down to them, as Wolfang joins in.
Terrorsaur: There you are! By all means, relax here in the geysers, while the indicator could be anywhere!
Megatron: We were delayed.
Wolfang: {red face} Yeah, that's what it looks like. They delayed us all. {black face} But you should've seen it. Guiledart almost went to infinity and beyond.
Guiledart: [furious] Can it, Wolfang! I didn not chase halfway across the state for Pixar bullshit!
Terrorsaur: Enough. We've tried Megatron's way, so now we do it my way.
In the meantime, Norris looks down from his helicopter, finding Brachus grazing on the trees.
Norris: There's one. Take evasive action!
The choppers fire their missiles at Brachus, who gets startled from the shot. Soldiers circle around Brachus, lassoing him with grappling hooks and firing guns at him. As the chopper lands, Norris comes out to glare at the helpless Brachiosaur.
Brachus: Is this worth it? If you win, you'll be out of work.
Norris: I will not stop until I've rid the world of every last one of you.
Brachus: I AM the last one!
Brachus converts to his warrior mode, swinging his axe at the tanks to destroy them. Another tank fires at him, which explodes into a gas, then Brachus falls down to the ground. All the soldiers rope him down.
Norris: We've got the target, now we get the girl.
The general leads his battalion away from the scene, but Greg and his team hide themselves in the bushes as they watch them leave. With the coast clear, they immediately untie Brachus, freeing him.
Brachus: You're freeing me?
Greg: Listen, you know the girl you were with?
Brachus: That Lori girl? Yes, I do know her. Very sweet of her.
Roderick: We're friends of hers.
Greg: Listen, earlier today, she called us about having a way to stop the Dragozaurs. Do you know what it is?
Brachus: Yes. The Dino-Knights. The early protectors of the Earth. She's gone to find their secret valley, and I must go to the deadly machine hidden here.
Greg: Let us tag along with you.
Changing back to his beast mode, Brachus lowers his head to let the trio climb on him, then he marches on to Darkmount.
Travis: You know, you said you're the last one. Last of what?
Brachus: Of the Brachiosaurus. I'm tragically the last of my kind. It's a long story.
Roderick: We've got time for a long story.
Act Seventeen
With the truck overheating from the chase, Jamie pulls over and gets out to check under the hood. Cheetor and Rattrap both come back with Lori and Rhys, who are laughing for fun.
Rhys: Wow! What a blast!
Alexis: You think? I got it all on my camera. It was an excellent shot.
Dinobot: [unamused] We have no time for games. We still need to find the valley.
Jamie: Easier said than done. This truck's finished,
Lori: Hold on. We're getting close.
Lori leads the gang further through the plain, until they all fall through a hole and onto a long slide. They make it to the bottom but regain themselves in pain.
Alexis: That was a mean slide. But at least my camera's still okay.
Stampy: I'll say. Where are we now?
Lori: I don't know, but this is where I indicated.
Rattrap: Maybe these caverns lead to the valley.
Then they hear a bellow. The gang believe they must be getting close. They travel through the long cavern until they find something extraordinary: the valley. A tropical plain where there's dinosaurs of separate species, periods and countries (Euplocephalus, Plesiosaurs, Apatosaurs, Baryonyx, Corythosaurs, Dilophosaurs, Gallimimus, Pachycephalosaurs, Parasaurolophus, Pteranodons, Spinosaurs, Stegosaurs, Triceratops, and more) grazing there. It's the most beautiful thing they've ever seen. Alexis takes out her camera to record the whole scene.
Rhys: The valley…. Hidden from the Earth… I guess that longneck wasn't crazy after all.
Jamie: These dinosaurs must've flourished for thousands of centuries down here since the meteorite impact.
Lori: Dino Tyrannus has to be around here somewhere.
The gang hikes down hill to go through the plain. As they do, the dinosaurs watch them from every corner at the visitors.
Alexis: How is this possible? Floras and faunas rely on the sun for life.
Stampy: This ecosystem must be energized… by the Earth's life force that flourish here. This must be what happens when life forms rely on it. A planet's life force can do all kinds of things to any life forms.
They arrive at an altar where it is guarded by a Triceratops.
Triceratops: State your business, strangers.
Wielding only the dagger, Rhys steps forth to raise it up high where the Dino-Knights can see.
Rhys: We have come to see Tyrannus.
After a few seconds of silence, the dinosaurs take a bow for something. Rhys lowers the dagger as she and the gang look forward. Emerging from the trees is a T-Rex, seemingly to be Tyrannus. He approaches the altar and glimpses at the humans.
Tyrannus: So. The rumours are true. The Earth has survived. But what are you?
Jamie: We're called humans. And we're the dominant species around here.
Tyrannus: I see. Now tell us, what brings you to our sanctuary?
Lori: Tyrannus? My name is Lori and we've come for your aid. Our friends are outnumbered, at risk and our planet's under attack.
Tyrannus: From what threat exactly?
Cheetor: Our enemies. The Predacons and the Dragozaurs… forming an alliance for control of this planet.
Triceratops: Impossible. The Dragozaurs do not-
Tyrannus: Peace, Ceratops. [to Lori] We have sensed it from the Ancients, but we cannot help you.
Rhys: What? But we're losing our world.
Tyrannus: If we strike, Basilo will re-obtain the Silver Sword to activate Darkmount. I possess it and I must keep it with me at all times, or else all of Earth's life force will be gone.
Rhys looks at Lori, noticing she's on the brink of tears. He doesn't like what he sees. He stepped forth, speaking on Lori's behalf.
Rhys: Look. We didn't just go through everything we went through for no reason at all, and to just have it end like this. There is a reason that we came here. My friend led us here for a purpose. Maybe the Ancients chose you to save us by all means. You let us all die, you'd be no better than those Drago-things!
The Dino-Knights look at one another, taken back. No response has come from anyone.
Later, the gang moves out of the valley without help from anyone. Lori is looking disappointed about this term of events.
Stampy: Chin up, kid. We made it this far.
Alexis: What do we know?
Dinobot: Tragically, we're on our own. But Megatron is bound to come after Lori.
Act Eighteen
Outside the valley, the Dragozaurs and Predacons make a landing at the slopes of Devil's Tower. The Maximals are still in cages alongside Owen.
Cybershark: Arg. It to be critical for us all to end up this way.
Owen: Well, at least Lori's okay.
Basilo is on the very top of the mountain looking around the area. Terrorsaur swoops down to land right next to them.
Terrorsaur: My king. I've surveyed the area and Megatron's found the indicator.
Basilo Dragon: She must've been to the valley. We can only hope the Dino-Knights will not be here. Inform Megatron to get her. Dragozaurs! Prepare the assault!
The Dragozaurs are preparing themselves for an assault, and using their prisoners as bait in their cages.
Lori sadly walks out of the hole with the gang following her. Suddenly, they find themselves at gunpoint by all of Norris's men. They separate the others away from Lori.
Norris: Mission accomplished, boys. Now just one thing to do.
Norris takes out his pistol, aiming at Lori's forehead, and is ready to shoot.
Jamie: Hey, you gonna shoot a helpless girl?!
Alexis: She's important to us!
Norris: We know what she can do, which is why they're all here. With her dead, she'll be useless and they'll all leave.
Dinobot: That will not work, general. You kill her, and Megatron will retaliate.
Norris: Let him try.
Megatron's voice: Why, so I would….
Startled, Norris looks back to find the Predacons standing before him. Megatron fires his Fusion Pulse Shotgun that kills Norris and the Predacons lunge at the soldiers, killing them off. Freed from the gunpoint, Cheetor and Rattrap fire their weapons at the Predacons, and Dinobot beams his optic lasers at Terrorsaur. With Megatron down, Lori is able to snatch the Matrix away from him.
Megatron: I think that Matrix belongs to me.
Lori: No! This belongs to Optimus.
Megatron: So be it.
In beast mode, Megatron takes the opportunity and lunges for Lori, but is then seized out of the air by Dino Tyrannus with his massive jaws.
Guiledart: Master! I will avenge you! Guiledart, terrorize!
Spittor: Attack!
Guiledart and Spittor both pounce on the T-Rex to avenge their leader's injury, but Guiledart is stomped flattened, and Spittor's swiftly killed as well when the Tyrannosaur tosses his body into a tree.
Tyrannus: Dino Tyrannus, power of the Ancients!
Tyrannus reverts to his warrior form and kicks the Predacons away. The gang rendezvous with Lori and Tyrannus. Amazed, the gang look at the aiding dinosaur.
Rhys: You came?
Tyrannus: You were right. If we let Earth face death, we'd be no better than the Dragozaurs. It is our duty to protect Earth's life force. However… it's also our duty to save the Earth. We're in.
The Dino-Knights, showing up from hiding, roar cheerfully as a response for their assistance. The gang are pleased to see that they've finally got backup. Lori optains the Positron Matrix to present it to her new-found allies.
Lori: This is it, guys. We've got the Matrix. Now we must fight them before we lose our life force.
Tyrannus: Then consider this to be the fight to the finish. Dino-Knights! Charge!
At the slopes of Devil's Tower, everyone there feels a rumbling noise. The captives have no clue of what's going on. But emerging out from the trees are the Dino-Knights charging for an attack. They battle the Dragozaurs and Lori rushes in with Rhys following her, and they both open the cages to free Owen and the Maximals.
Owen: [awed] Kid?
Lori: We've brought backup. And we've got the Matrix back.
Rhinox: But where's Optimus?
Lori: He'll be fine. He's put me in charge.
Kickback: You're in charge? Well, give the order, miss.
Lori: Help the Dino-Knights.
Accepting her order, the Maximals join in fighting the Dragozaurs with their firearms. Cheetor, Rattrap and Dinobot come over to fight with them. Rattrap stuffs Proton Bombs in Fang's throat, having him explode. Dinobot slices Pachydom in half and crushes his torso, popping his head off and killing him. Cheetor finishes Liger by ripping his arms off with a powerful kick, killing him.
Ceratops: Tri-power!
Ceratops transforms into a warrior and commands a pair of Microceratus to come forth. When they do, he combines with them to form a stronger warrior and fight through his way.
Lori and Rhys are accompanied by Owen as they venture forth to follow Tyrannus. A Dragozaur stops Lori with the Matrix. The humans see him charging, but Drago Brachus immediately comes over with Greg's team firing on his back to attack the alien.
Brachus: Beware the horror of Brachus!
Transforming, he slices the Dragozaur with his Axe of Venom, and the MARS team slides down his team to reach the kids.
Greg: Lori. Thank God you're alright. But who's your boyfriend?
Lori: We'll talk about that later. Right now, we need to get the T-Rex to that mountain.
Travis: Copy that.
Another Dragozaur tackles Brachus to the ground with fatal injuries. Brachus is able to crush the grunt's skull with his tail smash, but brutally injured.
Brachus: I'm too old for this shit.
For Jamie and Alexis, they are watching the battle scene from outside the forest and up the hill so they can see properly. And Alexis is recording it all.
Alexis: We can't stand here and do nothing, Jamie.
Jamie: But we can contact.
Jamie pulls out his cell phone before dialling on it. Owen's phone starts ringing and he decides to answer it.
Owen: Hello?
Jamie: How ya been, homey?
Owen: Jamie?
Jamie: Where the hell are you? Watching the Weather Channel, SportsCenter, I Dream of Jeannie or something? We got 300 satellites up there. Where the hell are all our men?
Owen: Calm down. Tell me what you know.
Jamie: Okay. The Dragozaurs are getting ready to kill all living beings on Earth.
Owen: That part we know.
Jamie: Do you want to have a throwdown about my lack of clearance or do you want to help save- a gazillion lives?
Owen: All right, Jamie. Our one hope is a prototype satellite called the Railgun, shoots a steel projectile at mach 7. It's orbiting the Earth right now.
Orbiting the Earth is a satellite called the Railgun. It's targeting a few Dragozaurs and it fires a steel projectile at them, killing them.
Act Nineteen
Meanwhile, Lori and Rhys are still running with MARS at their side. A Dragozaur gets in the way, but Stampy arrives to step in between them.
Rhys: Yo! Dino-ass! Ya hungry?! Eat me!
Taking his offer, the alien dinosaur takes a bite and swallows Stampy whole.
Lori: [gasps] Stampy!
But all of a sudden, it feels like it's having a stomach-ache. It turns out that Stampy's hitting around in the stomach to make the Dragozaur feel bad. The alien collapses and Stampy manages to get out.
Greg: God. That was both disgusting and awesome. New guy?
Lori: Yeah.
They continue marching through until they finally find Tyrannus at last. Lori runs as fast as she can, but Basilo Dragon flies over and breathes fire at the trees, creating a firestorm. Just then, Brachus arrives and shoves them further away from the flames.
Basilo Dragon: You dare defy your king, Brachus?
Brachus: You're not my king. You never were!
Brachus attacks again, but Basilo slashes him before he flies away, leaving him trapped in the inferno. The humans look back to see what's happening.
Lori: Brachus!
Brachus: Don't worry about me! Go to Tyrannus! You must safeguard him!
Roderick: But you're the last!
Brachus: [calmy] I know. But he's more important. My time is over. Do this for what's left in life. Do this… for our planet….
Brachus stands on his hind legs as he is slowly engulfed by the toxic smoke and debris from the fire, letting out his final cries. Tearfully looking at his death, Lori looks away and continues rushing to find Tyrannus.
Looking down, Basilo Dragon spots Tyrannus, taking down a few Dragozaurs with the Silver Sword, but the warrior king tackles him to obtain the blade.
Basilo Dragon: My sword.
Now with the sword, Basilo Dragon takes his chance to grapple onto Tyrannus. Lori grabs onto the T-Rex's tail while he's being carried up, then all the trio hold onto her, also being carried away.
Rhys looks up high, seeing that they're all the trouble, but he doesn't know what to do. Then a gunfire blasts near Rhys and he ducks. But, when he opens his eyes, he finds himself in an unknown realm.
Rhys: Where- Where am I?
Voice: You are in our realm. The realm of our race.
Rhys looks around, finding himself surrounded by six of humanoids with black silhouetted bodies appearing before him, presumingly the Ancients.
Ancient #1: We are the first beings of our glorious world. The first to breathe, the first to walk on Earth, the first to live on it… hence the name of our kind: The Ancients.
Ancient #2: You have come so far for Tyrannus, the last of his kind, with courage and with understanding. All of those are the virtues of a leader, a leader worthy of our secret. The Dino-Knights are not found, they are earned.
Ancient #3: Raise the dagger. Call out your ally's name.
The vision ends and Rhys returns to realize the situation. Since the world is endangered, he has to accept those words. He raises the dagger upward.
Rhys: Optimus Primal!
The dagger begins to glow brighter than before with Rhys looking at it in awe.
Back in the air, Basilo Dragon uses his tail to strangle Tyrannus until he is limp, then drops him from above the clouds with the humans lashing onto him. The ground begins to shake. Devil's Tower starts cracking and revealing itself to be the colossal machine, Darkmount. Basilo stabs the sword into a slot and the machine begins to work.
Basilo Dragon: At long last… after eons of suffering… now I claim this planet's life force.
Darkmount is now draining Earth's life force. As it did, the forest turns brown and the trees begin collapsing. The whole planet is dying.
Back in the sky, Tyrannus is still falling down, and Lori lashes on his puny arms in fright, alongside the trio.
Roderick: WE'RE ALL GONNA DIIIIIIE!
Travis: Wait! Look! Down in the sky! Is it a bird?
Greg: Maybe it's a plane!
Optimus: No! [tearfully] IT'S OPTIMUS!
Optimus, now fully recovered, comes in to save them, pulling a Superman and exhausting his jetpack to slow Tyrannus descent enough to ease it back on the ground. Lori gazes at her revived friend, giving him the Positron Matrix back.
Optimus: Thank you for safeguarding this, and your chain of command.
The Maximals around Optimus see their leader coming back to life. But the remaining Predacons are furious to witness it.
Kickback: Optimus is back!
Cheetor: Big bot!
Dinobot: The boy was right. It worked.
Terrorsaur: Predacons! Destroy him!
The Predacons fire their guns at Optimus, who's protecting Rhys from using his back as a shield. But the newly regained Optimus doesn't feel the pain.
Optimus: My turn.
Optimus Primal raises his hand to form an Energon Throwing Star and throws it at every Predacon one by one like a boomerang. Terrorsaur flies away, but the throwing star lops his head off, not killing him. Lori is able to regain her bearings and pick up a sticky bomb.
Lori: You need to get a beast mode with longer arms, Megatron.
She throws the bomb right into Megatron, in beast mode. It ends onto the back of his neck and it explodes.
Tyrannus: [to Optimus] We must destroy Darkmount or else life on Earth will perish.
Optimus: Well, that's just prime. Need a lift?
With his flight and newfound strength, Optimus carries Tyrannus and flies up to the very top. Basilo Dragon sees the incoming intruders and reverts into his dragon form to attack Tyrannus. Distracted, Optimus manages to throw his Energon Throwing Star that destroys Darkmount and removes the sword. As that happens, the forest reverts to normal and the life force is restored.
Falling down, Tyrannus and Basilo are facing a fierce duel to each other as they once did long ago.
Basilo Dragon: The last of the mighty tyrannosaurs.
Tyrannus: You will pay for what you've done.
Basilo Dragon: Prepare yourself to join your kind and your treacherous longneck. In the afterlife!
Lori and Rhys are watching Tyrannus's battle with the Dragozaur warrior king. Quickly recovering, Megatron comes to kill Rhys, but Optimus attacks from behind. After a brief but brutal tussle, Optimus uses Megatron's own shotgun to blast half his face off, and then severs the Predacon's weapon. Finally, Optimus opens his chest to reveal the Matrix, and it fires a powerful beam to send Megatron flying through some trees, ending his role in the battle. Megatron gets badly damaged.
Megatron: Terrorsaur!
Basilo counterattacks Tyrannus, managing to rip off a tree and strike him in the face with it. However, Tyrannus eventually manages to impale Basilo through the shoulder with his own sword, tearing off his arm. The warrior king tries to flee, but Tyrannus punches through his chest and rips out his heart, finally killing Basilo Dragon.
Tyrannus: For my family.
Tyrannus reverts to his T-Rex form and lets out a triumphant roar, claiming Earth is safe once again. The moment they find their king dead, the surviving Dragozaurs change into spheres of light and fly to the sky with terror. The wounded and horrified Predacons get a glimpse at Basilo's dead body.
Megatron: By the… Matrix.
But Megatron feels free. He's finally out of control of that alien dragon. The Predacon leader comes to Terrorsaur, bringing his head back together. Wolfang and Waspinator both walk to them, equally looking badly damaged.
Megatron: Who cares to continue his lead?
Without saying a word, both of the Predacons back up, no longer interested in serving Terrorsaur anymore.
Megatron: And thus ends the glorious plan of Terrorsaur: a lost battle, a missing victory, AND WHO KNOWS WHAT DAMAGE INFLICTED BY THE NEW MAXIMAL ALLIES!
Just then, Terrorsaur's head falls right off his torso.
Terrorsaur: [agonized] Oh, my aching head.
Megatron: We have lost the battle, yeesss. But the Beast Wars will go on until I am the victor.
They revert to beast mode and flee the scene.
Act Twenty
Everyone cheers for they have claimed victory. Lori and Rhys rendezvous with Alexis and Jamie with pride in the action. The Dino-Knights are gathered in front of the humans and the Maximals, then Optimus shows up reverting back to beast mode.
Optimus: [to Tyrannus] Greetings. I am Optimus Primal. Maximal leader. We thank you for your aid. We never would've made this far without you or your army.
Tyrannus: It's always a pleasure to save Earth. But you should thank the boy Rhys. They came all this way to ask for us, and he was the one who led us to this conflict.
Owen: Hey, now. If it's not too late, Level 3 can use guys like you and your army to help with this conflict.
Tyrannus: I respect it, but can't accept it. Our place is in our secret valley, keeping a guard on Earth's flourishing life force. But whenever you're in any difficulties at war, you all may count on our loyalty.
Rhinox: Sounds good to me.
Optimus: Then it's settled. I have a feeling we'll meet again, Tyrannus. In the meantime, we bid you farewell.
Tyrannus: I hope so too. And Lori, this is when we leave. Your world is safe now. Good luck.
The Dino-Knights take off and march back to their secret valley. The humans are really stoked the moment they had the dinosaurs helping them save the world. Rhys turns to his right seeing Optimus coming over to him.
Rhys: Um…. Optimus… Primal, right?
Optimus: Well fought, my friend. You saved the planet. You saved the lives of those who live here… and of those who may yet to come.
Alexis: [to Lori] I got the whole scene on my camera.
Lori is looking a little worried when she hears about Alexis recording the battle.
Lori: Alexis, no one must ever know…
Alexis: Your secret's safe.
Owen: I never thought it would come to this. Being aided by an army of dinosaurs. But… contact with more civilians? How many more are there?
Alexis: Trust me, Mr. Black. I don't ever reveal my secrets to any strangers.
Lori: Owen, I trust these two.
Jamie smiles at the kids. Then he looks at his watch and notices the time.
Jamie: Oh shit. I need to get back to Chicago or my ma will be furious. [to Owen] You think I can hitch a ride home?
Owen: The helicopter's arriving now.
A helicopter just arrives to pick up Jamie, but Lori comes over to hug him.
Lori: Thanks for hanging around, Jamie.
Jamie: No. I thank you… for showing me proof of my dad's research. Tell ya what. If you guys ever have a chance of getting back to Chicago, feel free to come to my work. From Wednesday to Friday, dinner is on me.
Rhys: Wait.
Rhys comes over, handing Jamie the dagger to him. Jamie looks at it for a bit, then he shows a smile as he offers it to him back.
Jamie: Keep it, homey. I never needed it anyway.
Rhys: But this was your dad's find.
Jamie: Yeah, but I wanted to know what it was used for. And now, I know. So keep it. It suits you. Take care of your new girlfriend. She's really special, homey.
Jamie takes his chance to climb onto the chopper and it's able to take off, sending Jamie back home.
Rhys: Why does everyone keep saying that?
Alexis: Well… that depends if you "like her" like her.
Rhys: [blushing] Huh…?
This looks like an awkward moment to Rhys, but no one around him seems to mind at all. Not even Optimus.
Optimus: Even in our darkest hour, a spec of light will shine the way. I do believe you two are that light.
Rhys and Lori look at each other, smile and nod to acknowledge Optimus's word.
After a while, the Maximals and MARS are having a ride home in the helicopters. With Owen at the passenger seat, he gives Kristy a call.
Owen: Nothing to worry about, Mrs. Roswell. She's safe and sound. The president has informed the world that the alien message was… a prank, played by general Norris. Lori and her new friends had a long journey, and we're sending them back to college.
In the interior, Lori, Rhys and Alexis are sleeping together. Beside them are Cheetor, Rattrap and Dinobot sleeping as well.
"Our worlds united by a history long forgotten, and a future we shall face… together. I am Optimus Primal. And I send this message so that our new home will have mysteries. For if we trust its nature, life will find a way."
The End
