Slightly changed this chapter a slight bit because I wrote this at like midnight and it wasn't a very good chapter lmao. Mostly just got the stats in because I don't want to write all the different ways an automaton can do something neat. And by that, I mean the automaton skills.

Waking up from my sleep, I looked around my room to confirm that nothing has changed since I stopped crafting items and immediately went to mentally recharge by sleeping.
...Huh, I really did just craft for hours straight. I guess Jaeger was pretty interesting enough to keep me going for that long.
...How long was it, though?
Looking outside the window, it's the middle of night, and since I started crafting in the middle of the day, it's either been less than 12 hours, or it's been over 24 hours.
…How long have I been sleeping, actually?
Speaking of which, where the hell is Jaeger? He'd usually be saying something right now…
He's probably asleep… Although, now that I think of it, doesn't he control my sleep schedule? Still hearing nothing from Jaeger, I decide to speak out loud in the hopes of reaching him.
Cupping my hand to where my mouth would've been if I had one, "HEY HEY [2021 Shame]! I'VE BEEN TRYING TO [reach out to you for your car's extended warranty]! WHERE THE [Flip!] ARE YOU?!"
Yeah yeah my bad SWC wanted my help with his own AoT things. And I'm legally required to help on AoT things. Also it looks like my sleeping block finally ran out on its timer rip.
Great, nice to hear from you… What the hell do you mean by sleeping block though?
There's a button in your brain that lets you sleep, so when I need you to sleep, I put a block on it, and the block I put on it has a long timer, but it finally ran out so I need to make another one.
…Or you could just make it permanent?
Do you want to sleep forever if I have to go and forget about you?
Well, alright, kind of rude to blatantly say I'm forgettable…
Ignoring that, what were you doing?
Eh, SWC just wanted my notes on what to and not change in order to get the ending that he wants. Not really important to you.
Speaking of important, your rewards from your crafting session.
Ooh, this sounds like my favorite part.
Well, you've got a lot of pop ups from leveling up, but the cliff notes are, you're level 47, you can pick another class, you can do co-op dungeons, contracts, and you have 180 stat points now. And a bunch of other abilities and stuff from your engineer and automaton stuff, but those aren't that important.
…What?
Yeah, a slight oversight. You know, just a teensy little problem. Apparently, letting all automatons craft and things in 1 second, and having the universal decrafting time be 3 seconds wasn't a great idea when combined with infinite materials.
Uh, yeah… It sounds like a miracle to my opponent that the experience I got from crafting wasn't over 2.
I'll be totally honest, I was debating on trying to push my luck and raise it a bit, but then I decided not to in the slight chance Skryb appears to 'balance' the game.
...When you say it like that, it's a miracle you decided to use that brain that I think you have.
Wha- I didn't even do anything bad? Why are you-
Anyways, what are my stats looking like?

Oh shit, is this legal?
Still glaring at you, but I'll let it slide. Anyways, it's about to not be lmao. I think Aodare is debating on whether or not to kill the guy who was making the automaton species bonuses.
...Well, how high are the chances of me getting nerfed?
Based on previous experiences, I'm going to say 79.99% chance. But I don't think there's enough totally broken things to go to 3.1 yet… Then again, we've updated systems for much less.
Alright… Then, I guess I'll just… toss in my points- Wait, do classes give me more bonuses?
Oh yeah those. You probably should pick your class before using your points… You want to do it now?
Sure, why not?
Choose your second class
[Warrior], [Mage], [Rogue], [Ranger], [Support]
Alright… So, Jaeger, any recommendations?
When you said 'sure why not' I thought it meant you knew what you wanted.
No, I really don't. I have absolutely no idea. I was thinking mage, but you mentioned them being kind of garbage…
Yeah… Well, actually, I was kind of dumping all of them in one pile. Most of them aren't… That bad. But a lot of them are really limited because of this system's damage system.
Uh… Is there a luck based mage class?
...Yeah, but it's shit.
Yeah, then, I think I won't pick a mage.
Well, alright then, so you have 4 other options, 3 if you want to actually win and not pick another support class. So just pick one of those and go from there.
Uh huh…
Thinking about my options, warrior, rogue, and ranger… Warrior would be good with my high endurance stat… Rogue… Maybe not so much… And ranger…
Hey, Jaeger, do I get to use a gun if I pick the archer class?
Well yes, but they're super nerfed because Skryb dislikes guns, so you might as well pick up literally anything else. Like a crossbow which is basically a gun, but arrow.
Huh…
Hm, on the other hand, I already have a melee weapon…
Yeah, and it already does a ton of damage. Do you really need more melee damage?
...Not really… Well, if we're going for ranged damage, and we're not going for mage… Yeah, I guess ranger it is.
Ranger
[Archer - Uses weapons to attack from a distance - 2 Dex per level up]
[Thrower - Uses throwing items to attack from a distance - 3 Dex per level up]
[Beast Mastery - Tames beasts to use as hunting partners to attack opponents - 1 Str, 1 Dex, 2 Luk per level up.]
...Beast mastery?
I think that was… Montezuma's thing that he worked on. Saying that 'druids are garbage why make me play them just to get some epic pets?'
...Ah.
Based.
Based.
Well, anyway, archer it is…
You have picked archer as your second class.
Would you like 1 extra modifier?
Uh… Jaeger, is this a good offer?
Most of the time, yeah. But who knows, you could always get something garbage.
Uh… Then… Sure, I'll take it.
Archer modifier
[Sniper - Damage does not decrease the further you are from the target]
Ooh! That sounds… Wait a minute. Isn't this the archer class, where you're meant to stay away? Why does the damage decrease if someone's further away normally?
The official reason is 'because physics' but the actual reason is we fucking hate archers. But yeah, good modifier.
...oh.
Your stats have increased.
Dex: 10 to 104
You have gained item:
[Beginner's bow - A wooden bow made for beginners. What else is there to say? - Deals 1*Dex damage per hit
Welcome to the world]
You have gained skills:
[Instant shot - Fires an arrow instantly. Costs 75 Sp]
[Double shot - Fires 2 arrows in quick succession - Costs 100 Sp]
[Ricochet - Your next arrow will ricochet 3 times - Costs 45 Sp]
[Aimed shot - Hold your next arrows for 2 seconds and do 2x the normal damage - Costs 100 Sp]
Alright, everything seems to be in order… So, uh, what now?
Ahem… 180 stat points?
…Oh, yeah…
I don't want to focus on that, can't I dump it all into something like… Vitality? To become unkillable?
Do you want Skryb to come with his rebalancing gun even faster?
…No.
Then I'd suggest literally anything else.
Uh… luck, maybe?
Look, we're working on getting luck out of all our systems just like we did with charisma, do you want to be known as they idiot who invested it all into a wishy-washy stat that doesn't even work 99% of the time?
…I'll just invest a quarter into my 4 main stats of vitality, intelligence, wisdom, and dexterity, then. That should be fine, yeah?
…Probably, yes.
Then that's what I'm going with.
Vit: 50 to 95 [Hp: 1,900]
Dex: 104 to 149
Int: 114 to 159
Wis: 57 to 102 [Mp: 510]
Alright! Looks good! So, what next?
Do you want to craft stuff?
No.
Well then… There are contracts, or dungeons you can do.
…Alright, so what do those mean?
Contracts are basically extra quests made by the developers. Some are simple, like Skryb's 'kill people by X' or can be complicated, like Gaienyan's route of adding shit into the world for people to handle.
Uh huh… So, where do I get them?
In your menu, dumbass.
…Ah, right.
Contracts
…
Oh, that's… A lot more contracts than I was expecting. I was thinking like it'd show me only a few at a time…
By the way, what's up with that little extra reward thingy with the things like Gaienyan's Fur, Sentrot's Plating and things like that?
Oh, they're crafting materials to make something look like that developer. So Gaienyan's fur would make something cat themed, and Sentrot's plating would make it look robotic. My item, Jaeger's Book, makes it look more muscular, which looks out of place on 99% of items and the looks on people's faces when they realize what they did to their item is funny.
Uh huh…
Well, you said something about Sentrot making things more robotic so how about getting…
In The Quest To Disneyland [Sentrot]
Legally obtain a large plot of land.
Rewards: 1,000 experience, Printing Press, Sentrot's Plating.
Sounds like fun! Does this lead to another contracts which eventually leads to me making a version of Disneyland?
…Huh.
…What?
Oh, I just didn't expect Sentrot and Paradise to actually be serious about making players make a Disneyland lmao.
…Who?
Who is irrelevant right now. But if you need help remembering the names, Paradise is a cartoonophile, and Sentrot is your automaton cousin.
I… Okay?
Now, you wanna do a co-op dungeon?
Uh, not right now… I just woke up like 5 minutes ago, dude.
It's been a lot longer than 5 minutes, my guy.
Okay, look, let's just… Drop off all my useless junk, and let's go buy some land, alrighty?
Ah, fine, whatever.
As it turns out, people sleep at night, and unfortunately, Jean has decided to sleep tonight…
And while a few of the knights like Kaeya were awake, I think I'll still talk to Jean about my quantity of items because Jean could probably find a place to store it faster.
And I guess since it's night, all land sellers are probably also asleep, so I ended up saying 'screw it,' and telling Kaeya that we're going to walk over to Liyue, but would be back by morning.
Mostly for the waypoints.
And so here we were, walking towards Liyue during the night without a care in the world.
...And this obnoxiously strong wind which is making me care a lot.
This obnoxiously strong wind which was making walking a very annoying activity, and the only reason why I wasn't totally blown away is probably my also very obnoxiously high endurance.
Seriously, who did I piss oooooo-hhhhh.
Ah.
Hm, Venti was the wind god, right?
...Yeah…
Outstanding work there, telling him indirectly that you know his real identity and then not elaborating was the best option you could do there.
Haha… It was just a prank bro.
Yeah, just prank the guy who can prank you back.
I thought he would be nicer!
How would you feel if something you had no idea existed suddenly came up to tell you that it knows your secret identity, and then just leaves without telling you what they're going to do with that information?
…Okay, that's fair.
Still trying to walk towards Springvale and failing miserably, I quickly debated whether or not I should just stay in Mondstadt or to keep going, and I decided that I'll keep moving forward because I'll look like a moron if I went back.
...So here we are.
Still getting ruthlessly battered by the wind, cursing Venti under our breaths.
You know, I was expecting my fear aura ability to kick in, but I guess since mildly annoying you isn't really an attack, he found the one loophole in the ability.
You son of a- Agh, whatever… Why don't you use another passive ability then?
I just need you to survive, not thrive.
Wha- Cold, dude. Wouldn't me thriving lead to me beating up the other player faster?
Well, yeah, but I can wait. Waiting is my natural state of being.
...Does that mean anything or…
Nah, I thought it sounded cool lol.
Yeah that's what I thought.
Looking forwards past the wind, I could… Not see Springvale.
Venti, I'm really starting to dislike you right now.
Springvale! Finally! I've reached the destination that should've taken me twenty or so minutes that took like an hour!
WE WIN THEEEEESE!
WE WIN THEEEEESE!
Double checking that my waypoints exist, I immediately move myself to a place where the wind would only be able to push myself into a wall, and plant myself there.
As the wind smashes towards me with no success, I mentally breathe a sigh of relief.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA! VENTI! I'VE [totally annihilated your level]!" I shouted out, ignoring the fact that I'm probably waking up a whole ton of people, "YOU ARE [100% hopeless] AGAINST AGAINST AGAINST AGAINST AGAINST AGAINST AGAINST AGAINST AGAINST"
My body shutting down as it once again goes into its broken mode, my body quietly said, "Ha, as if you could even imagine it."
...Creepy as all hell. Why does that happen? The last time was a bit more lighthearted…
Only Ymir knows.
...Only Ymir knows, huh…
Tell Ymir that being unable to move is uncomfortable. I like moving.
I'm sure she knows all about it already.
…Yeah, alright, I probably should've known that.
"Ah! The wind stopped! My luck must be getting better!" A boyish sounding voice came from up ahead.
...Which sounded familiar, but my mind can't put a name on it right now…
"Indeed it is my vassal! As the harsh essence of the land declines in power, your own curse shall halt its advance!" A girlish voice said, which I immediately knew on instinct because I was looking for her.
"She means that the wind stopping means your unluckiness is running out for today." Said a more masculine voice, also someone I knew on instinct.
IT'S FISCHL! AND OZ AND BENNET BUT MOSTLY FISCHL!
...Chuunibyou, huh? You disgust me.
JAEGER I HAVE STANDARDS-
An:
Short chapter because Terraria, Civ 6, and Stone Ocean were all kicking my writing spirit.
I probably could continue with this longer, but tbh, I kind of want to work on other ideas without letting this one go without an update for over 3 weeks.
Well, anyways see you next month lmao.
[Probably the one shot I was thinking of, and then maybe another one shot and then the 1st chapter of my next longfic that I was stewing into my head for a few weeks. Which I haven't watched the show of, so, you know, it's all lined up for success]
[I actually didn't know what second class Cereal would pick so I picked it on the spot with the same logic that Jaeger and Cereal were using lmao.]
[Fischl dialogue is hard.]
