Furret Abigail didn't wake up to any sound in particular. Singing birds and slow, stiff water swirled in her ears. She woke up on hard, dey dirt and grass. She stood up, dusted herself off, and took a look around.
Shiny Zorua Aaron laid on the ground next to her. They were still at the edge of the lake, but it had turned into morning. She didn't remember falling asleep.
Aaron woke up after Abigail took a step. At first, he just stared at her with his eyes halfway closed. After a few seconds, he blinked and his face rose.
"Oh, whoops," Aaron said. "It was pretty late when we came, though."
"Yah," Abigail said.
Abigail put two fingers and rubbed down between her eyes, stretching her face. She shook her head and looked around with her eyes half open.
"Hey, it's spa day," Aaron said. "You excited?"
"More like curious," Abigail said. "I've been told I need to go to one as an insult a lot."
"People use that as an insult? That's like, one thought away from just telling someone to get rich is an insult."
Abigail sighed. "Yah."
"Sick, I'll use it sometime. But you'll feel a lot nicer after you relax. So let's get going."
"You scheduled for the morning?"
"Well, I scheduled an all-day thing. Figured you could use the, uh... maximum overdrive. Not that I'm insinuating you look bad, I mean for stress."
Too sleepy, she didn't reply. Now that the time came, she wanted to become a hermit and shelter away. The weight of the red orb in her brown cape's pocket grew heavier as she followed Aaron back to the path on the castle grounds. The grass seemed greener under the growing sunlight.
Aaron already had a carriage pulled up for them by the time they reached and went through the black front gate, driven by a Pikachu. He silently looked forward while Aaron led Abigail to the back.
The doors opened by themselves. Buizel Zen and Quilava Gawain stared back at her from inside. Their eyes jolted Abigail awake.
"What's up?" Zen asked.
"Currently, you," Aaron said.
"How's the weather down there?"
"Pretty good, daytime."
"It's actually nighttime up here. You oughtta join us, Aaron…"
"Oh, Zen…"
Aaron and Zen stared into each other's souls. Abigail cleared her throat and swallowed. She didn't understand what they were doing.
"Oh, just get up here," Gawain whined, "geez. You two will marry each other at this rate."
Abigail snorted, stifling a laugh. Zen and Aaron glanced her way and back to each other.
Zen held out his paw and held on to the carriage with his other arm. He leaned off the edge.
"May I?" Zen asked.
"Oh," Aaron squeaked, "Zenny poo."
Abigail tried to cover her face when Zen cupped Aaron's paw and lifted him up to the carriage. Gawain leaned back against the wall and stared while they giggled to each other.
"I always knew you had something special for me, Zen," Aaron said.
"Well, Aaron. You're a special guy... Give me... special feelings."
"Hey," Abigail said, "uh, may I also get a lift?"
"Naaaah," Aaron said, "we done with gold diggers. Now all we're diggin is each other..."
"Abigail could dig a lot more gold than what even your dads' have," Gawain said.
"But she'll never be quite able to dig Aaron like I do..." Zen said in a low voice.
"What a chaaaaaad..." Aaron said.
Abigail folded her arms while her tail swirled with her impatience. Zen's boyish smile faded a bit.
"Oh, shoot," Zen said. "She's actually jealous..."
"Of which one of us?" Aaron asked.
"I think she is jealous of us," Zen smiled.
Zen and Aaron interlaced their paws. Facing each other, they each raised a foot in the air.
Gawain sat up and walked to the edge of the carriage. Abigail accepted his paw as he copied how Zen stood earlier.
He struggled to lift her. After two tugs, he gave up and tried using both of his arms. Gawain grunted with effort, but couldn't pull her up.
Zen went behind Gawain and grabbed his front, and Aaron went behind Zen and wrapped his arms around him. They all pulled together, but still couldn't lift her.
Abigail let go of Gawain's paw. They all fell back. She chuckled and hopped into the carriage. They all groaned as they rolled off of their backs.
"Well now I feel like crap," Aaron said. "I don't understand how you're into being overpowered, Zen."
"Shut up..." Zen hissed.
"Awwww," Abigail smiled, "like an old married couple."
Abigail noticed Gawain plop down in his old spot with some anger on his face.
"You alright, Gawain?" Abigail asked.
"When this is over, I'm going to the gym," he muttered.
"And you're going too, Zen," Aaron said. "Be a man."
"I want a divorce," Zen whined. "Abigail, you're the only man I have eyes for now..."
"If only I was the first…" she sighed.
Zen winced and rolled into a sitting position. Aaron continued to smile to himself.
Abigail's back hit against the wall during the bumpy ride. The annoyance sapped out what little energy she had left that morning.
When they opened the doors of the carriage, she lost most of her cool. Her resting face transformed into a tired scowl. Abigail's eyes dried and burned up in the sunlight as she hopped down on the street.
They were just a couple of feet away from a white building. Furret Abigail rubbed her eyes, but too much light bounced off for her to see the busy street, only hear it. She trudged over to the entrance.
Buizel Zen and Zorua Aaron were already holding the double glass doors open. The white tiled floor and walls on the inside pierced her eyes, eliciting a grunt. She held her head as her eyes adjusted.
Glancing up, her eyes met a counter, couches, and tables in a small front lobby. A Servine behind the front counter fumbled with papers as Aaron walked up to her. He put his arms on the dark wood and smiled with a tilted head. Servine stared at him, blinking rapidly.
"Four reservations," Aaron said. "Under the name 'Blue'."
"Oh," she said. "Uh, right. Let me... check."
Servine fumbled on a small tablet on the counter. Abigail could see her taking multiple tries to maneuver through some menus.
"Okay," Servine said, "I-I have your reservations. Someone w-will be out soon.."
"Thank you kindly," Aaron said.
After they finished, they went to a small, circular table surrounded by four cushions to sit on. They each took one, faced each other, and stared off into space.
It felt like Abigail hadn't even sat down yet when Servine came back, now with a Stoutland. Stoutland's fur looked like she set every individual hair in its place. Abigail looked to the side to avoid staring at her pristine, shimmering pelt.
"We are honored to serve you today," Stoutland said. "If you are ready, we will serve you all in the back."
"Thanks," Zen said.
Abigail stood up with the others and followed them. Stoutland led them through a set of double doors in the back of the lobby into a white hallway. There were gentle sounds from water and low talking in the rooms they passed.
Stoutland paused on the side of a door.
"Alright, miss Lodestar," she said. "This will be your room for today. Let any of our employees know if you have any questions."
"Thanks," Abigail said.
Furret Abigail gave the trio a quick wave before she turned around. A long, short table rested in the center of the dimly lit space. Candles flickered on top of counter-tops that were covered in brushes and ointments in different kinds of casings.
A female Herdier moved about the room. She shifted around things on one of the counters at a flying pace.
"H-hello, miss Lodestar!" she greeted facing away. "You c-can lie on the thing. Table."
"Okay," Abigail said.
There were cords from plugs on the side of the wall to the metallic table. Abigail realized what it was for as she crawled on. The table was warm. The heat went all the way to her back through her arms. She lied down with her head resting on her paws.
"H-have you been to a s-spa before?" Herdier asked.
"Nope," Abigail said. "I don't really know why they're popular…"
"Oh, well… Athletes come in here for injuries, usually from overdoing it. Professional athletes especially. Since their schedules demand they fight often, they need to heal as quickly as possible to get back on TV. As for others, there are plenty of fur treatments and other things to help with posture, stress…"
"So, there are different things you do for all of those?"
"Yes."
"So, which one is it for today?"
"Okay... So, the process is a massage followed by a warm water pit. Then we use ointments for the face and fur, wait some time in a sauna, and finish up with the brush. We're doing muscle related work today since you, uh, lead a certain lifestyle."
When Abigail attached time to everything she listed, it was a long list. But, with it being something to enjoy instead of to get through, it probably wouldn't be so bad.
Herdier hopped onto the table with a bottle. Abigail heard her pour some liquid into her paws and rub them together. A gentle tingle ran along Abigail's back when her paws touched it.
"You have a lot of... uhm, muscle mass. I'm going to uh… yah."
Herdier added more and touched her back again. The tingles strengthened. She squirmed in place.
Herdier just moved around on the surface for a short minute and then gave a small push on her back up towards her head. Abigail squeaked.
"Holy shit," Abigail mumbled.
"I'm sorry, are you uncomfortable?"
Abigail replied with a small gasp of air. It felt like her brain exploded with dopamine. She took a single deep breath to try and get herself back together.
"So," Abigail huffed, "how does this work?"
"The oils affect how energy moves through the body and relaxes it," she said. "Since your energy is strong, you might feel a little more relaxed than most people... Or a lot. Do you want to continue?"
"Y-yah."
Herdier slowly put her paws back on her back. Her whole body moved when she pushed again.
Abigail made an embarrassing, loud groan, almost as loud as her yell. She struggled to cover her mouth. She could feel her face heating up.
"Are you feeling any pain?" Herdier asked. "If that's the case, you might want to see a doctor."
"No," Abigail said.
"What do you feel?"
"Good, good... Just, uh... Very good. Weird."
"Alright, just say if you want me to stop. I think you have a few blockages."
"What's that mean…?"
"Well, after hard battles, if the body isn't given time to rest, it can cause energy blockages. It's a way for the body to force itself to heal and recharge, but the blockages themselves can linger for years if nothing's down about them. They can actually inhibit battling ability quite a lot, so it'd be best for me to deal with them."
She remembered what they were as she explained it. Abigail didn't think or realize she had any blockages. She must've overdone it sometimes.
Abigail held her mouth shut and pushed her face into her arms. Her fur got wet with a little drool when Herdier started again. With how she laid, her front was being pushed into the warm table.
Furret Abigail got completely lost. Her arms were under her head. She had her eyes closed and a small trail of drool from her mouth.
Abigail's back had made cracks on occasion. Every time, more bliss flowed down her spine. Her embarrassment from her groans left when she stopped thinking and forgot she was even awake.
Abigail failed to keep track of Herdier, but the same warm vibrations rumbled through her paws and feet. When it moved to the back of her head, she got dazed. She couldn't even hear herself.
The sound of water eventually played in her ears.
Abigail opened her eyes. Her head was her only body part above the water. She leaned back against a wall, still tingling like a gentle thunderbolt hit her.
"What…" Abigail muttered.
"Oh, you're responding again."
Furret Abigail looked behind her towards Herdier's voice. She sat behind her head sitting on the floor.
"What happened?" Abigail asked.
"You were... well, really enjoying yourself and were in a sort of trance... I guess I could call it that. Yah. But it's nothing unusual for your type. I mean, you had thirty-seven blockages… I've, uh, never seen anything like that before. It took a while."
Abigail's muscles turned into jelly. The warm feeling all around from the water made her feel like she was in bed. She could tell there was some kind of mixture in the water, but she didn't feel the need to ask about it.
She conked out again.
When the bath ended, something prodded Furret Abigail in the back of her head. She woke up and pulled herself up from the water pit. Herdier handed her a towel on their way out of the room. She led her to a doorway just a few paces away on the other side of the hallway. It opened up to a much smaller room, lit the same way from lights on the ceiling.
Abigail took a seat on the hardwood table. Herdier left the room and closed the door on her as the steam from a water pit started to be wafted around by vents in the wall. Her fur scattered water droplets as she lay back on the floor with her arms behind her head.
Abigail's time in the sauna came to an end before the heat got to her.. Herdier came back for her at the perfect moment.
She walked with her back to the first room and sat on the side of the table while Herdier brought out brushes. She set them on the table and bounded up to her side.
"Alright, what look would you like today?" Herdier asked.
"I'm not sure," Abigail said. "What do you think is fine?"
"Maybe something sharp? I think your friends might like it."
"Sure."
A tingle struck as Herdier brushed. Abigail kept herself focused by staring at how she used different brushes and techniques.
Abigail started to notice the changes right away. When Herdier finished, she brought a mirror from one of the desks. Her fur stuck out like a porcupine. Three tall strands of fur on her head leaned away the same way.
"Would you like anything else?" Herdier asked.
Abigail wondered if she was being honest when she asked if she wanted anything. She didn't want to take advantage, but Herdier noticed her pause.
"Another massage?" she offered. "I, uh, may have missed a blockage or two, to be honest…"
After another massage, Furret Abigail couldn't get herself together. Herdier focused on her back rhythmically. Her muscles melted.
After finishing, Herdier left the room for a minute or two and came back. Abigail glanced and saw Buizel Zen, Quilava Gawain, and shiny Zorua Aaron walk in.
Zen and Gawain hopped onto the table and each grabbed an arm. They tugged until Abigail sat upright with her mouth barely hanging open. She wobbled, completely supported by them on either side.
"What time is it?" Abigail asked. She kept staring dead ahead, not making eye contact with anyone.
"Oh, crap," Aaron said, "how many blockages did she have again?"
"Thirty-nine," Herdier said.
"Isn't the world record, like, forty-five? How was she even walking?"
"No idea…"
"Who are... Aaron?"
"Yah," Zorua Aaron said, "we're going to get you to your room in the N.A., okay?"
"What'd you say...?"
Zen and Gawain tugged more and got Abigail to her feet. She felt dizzy and warm. She couldn't make out anyone's facial expressions.
"Hey... could we order pizza?" Abigail asked.
"Sure," Zen said. "I'll make the call when we get back."
"Back where?"
"Is she okay?" Gawain asked.
"I broke up all thirty-nine blockages," Herdier said. "She's probably feeling a little fuzzy."
Herdier poked Abigail's side. She broke out into a fit of giggles and waved her arms.
"Hey, hey, stop that..." Abigail said, smiling.
"She's not touching you anymore," Zen said.
"Oh. Hi Zen."
"I've been holding your arm this whole time."
"I know."
"Wait," Gawain said, "but why is she all… like this?"
"It's like getting over a sickness that's been plaguing your body for months," Herdier said. "It's hard to explain… Well, she should feel a lot better in general now.
Abigail wiggled her back like a string. She looked at Zen straight in his eyes.
"Can I have a hug?" she asked politely.
"Uh, okay…" Zen said.
Abigail gave him a bear hug, swinging them back and forth while he stood with his arms glued to his sides. She released him after a few seconds.
"Uh, is there anything else we should know?" Aaron asked.
"I have some worries about her stress levels," Herdier said.
"Like what?"
"Well... I recommend counseling appointments and regular visits here if she's working with the N.A. It's rather standard."
The trio all seemed to glance at Abigail.
"This provides relief, but I do recommend a doctor's visit," Herdier said. "With her acting so different right now, it usually means that there's some sort of underlying problem. Her energy pathways don't feel… normal. To me."
Abigail looked between their faces and blinked a few times.
"Do you have any other questions?"
"We'll be fine," Zen said. "We'll take her out in a few minutes and then take that picture."
"Thank you, your majesties."
Abigail stayed pulled up while Herdier left the room. She continued to stare off into space almost shaking.
"How are you feeling?" Zen asked quietly.
"Free," Abigail groaned.
"That, uh, sounds good. What kind of pizza do you want?"
"Just cheese."
Aaron hopped up onto the table and walked to her. He poked her in the shoulder. She started to giggle again. She smiled while taking a breath and staring back.
"I think she's just super playful right now," Aaron said. "I didn't do anything with energy or something fancy."
"We'll keep an eye out," Zen said. "Glad we decided to come here. I can actually feel the difference."
Abigail sat with no goal in mind as the warm feeling started to leave her head. After a minute, it clicked that Gawain and Zen were touching her paws. She slowly pulled them away and reengaged her muscles to sit up on her own.
"Uh, sorry," Abigail said.
"Don't mention it," Zen said. "How did your time here go?"
"Felt like a dream..."
"I can imagine."
Abigail got on all four limbs and stretched out her back. When it cracked, she paused before falling on her stomach and groaning.
"Pft, oooookay," Aaron said. "I'll call the taxi for us out front now," Aaron said. "We should be able to just move real quick past the reporters. Only a few of them. Let's get her to the carriage."
Abigail felt dizzy when she stood up. Zen and Gawain started to hold her arms again and helped her down onto the floor.
"How do you feel about your new makeover?" Aaron asked.
"Makeover?" she repeated. "What are you talking about...?" Abigail paused for a second. "Oh. Yah. I dunno."
As they started to walk, Zen's hand slipped and rubbed against her arm. Abigail giggled a single time and shook her head.
"Quit it," she complained, "that tickles."
Abigail wasn't sure why, but she gave Zen another bear hug. This time, he returned the small pressure.
"Thanks," Zen said, "you must be feeling pretty nice?"
Abigail backed off of him with a disgusted look. "You have lice?"
During the ride back to the Nightlight Association, Abigail backed against the walls inside. She drifted off into daydreams about some of her old lessons.
She remembered she never learned a few moves like Ice Beam and Flamethrower. She gave it a lot of effort, but in the end, she didn't learn many ranged moves at all. It was embarrassing to think about (and came to her out of nowhere), but she figured it could be time to try again later. Blockages disturbed learning new moves.
When the carriage stopped for the last time, Abigail's head was still foggy. She had asked a few times if someone said her name out loud before realizing she was only remembering something.
"Alright, you good, Abigail?" Zen asked.
Abigail stood up, but her legs gave way under her. She collapsed back down against the wall. Her eyes were wide with surprise at herself.
"I feel... tired," Abigail said. "Kind of. Like jelly... Ugh," she whined. "I don't feel like moving."
Quilava Gawain, Zorua Aaron, and Buizel Zen all glanced at each other.
"I'll go on a date with whoever carries me," Abigail offered.
Zen shot up.. "Got it," he said.
Aaron darted in front of him. "Woa woa woa woa woa woa," Aaron said, "stay in your lane."
"You already had a date with her."
"That didn't count. We didn't even kiss."
Abigail blinked and stared at Aaron. "You know I'll remember this, right?" she asked.
"One second, honey."
"Hey, be fair. Besides, I am earning it."
"Women aren't earned. She isn't Princess Peach."
"I'm staying here," Gawain said. "Wasn't kidding about the gym thing. But let Zen have a moment, dude."
"Mmmmmm, fine," Aaron said. "But you don't get to do any more hugging or kissing. And no cheating with fruit gummies."
"No cheating?" Zen asked. "You couldn't even beat Cooking Mama without cheat codes."
"That was years ago, man... And all three of us couldn't even pull her up into a carriage. What the heck do you think you're gonna do?"
Zen rotated his shoulders and cracked his back. "Maximum effort."
"Nerd."
Zen gave Aaron a final glare before approaching Abigail. She outstretched her arms while Zen reached around her and awkwardly tried to pick her up.
Abigail's arms were around his shoulders. Her eyes were just above his pained face with her legs wrapped around his stomach.
"My hero," Abigail whispered.
Abigail pecked him on his cheek. His muscles trembled and started to disengage. She wrapped her tail under his back to stop his fall.
She landed on her feet while Zen fell back. Zen already had red on his face somehow, but his eyes had fluttered closed.
"Wait, what?" Abigail asked. "Why'd he faint!?"
"Hadn't happened since that school dance we went to," Aaron said.
"What…?"
"You know how dudes freeze up when they talk to pretty girls unless they're me? It's like that, but dialed up to eleven cause he has the Veritan blessing. Zen's is strong, so he just kinda passes out."
Abigail tensed all of her muscles. She cleared herself of the last of the tingling feeling and started to give effort into thinking again.
"Okay," she said. "Guess I'll carry him."
Abigail wrapped up Zen in her long tail and laid him on his back in her arms. Her tail covered everything but his round face.
"Think people will question why he's unconscious?" Abigail asked.
"And why your dark fur turned gold and why we were out and where we were and yada yada..." Aaron whined. "I'm just going to use an illusion. Let's just make it quick, I'm bad at this."
Zorua Aaron threw open the back doors of the carriage. Abigail,Gawain, and Zen hopped down and matched the pace of his speed-walk.
She didn't notice the illusion herself, but there were countless pokemon around that didn't pay attention to them. They had plenty of fresh air moving forward through the plaza underneath the black skyscraper.
When they got through the large opening glass doors, Aaron started to sweat visibly. They were lucky enough to have the elevator's circular doors already opened when they got inside. As soon as the doors closed, Aaron let out a gasp of air like he had been holding his breath and fell onto his back. Abigail noticed the color in his eyes seemed to dim.
"Ah," Aaron grunted, "that stings. I dunno how you do it."
"Do what?" Abigail asked.
"Be buff."
Aaron stood back up and dusted off his fur.
"So, you still have that thingy ma bobber in your cape?" Aaron asked.
"Yah," Abigail said. "Kinda feels crappy that my only job is holding something."
"High rank Nightlight work is relentless. Trust me, they like the idea of it under the watch of someone like you."
"Still feel lazy."
"Oh please, look at me," Aaron said. He wiped his arm across his forehead and flung droplets aside. "Anything but lazy. You're not even struggling to carry Zen at all."
Buizel Zen seemed to reply to his name. As soon as his eyes started to focus, Abigail balanced him on his feet and unwrapped her tail from around him.
Zen still looked pretty out of it to her. He used his arms and felt out his own frame trying to get his sense of space back.
"Sorry," Abigail said.
"No, no, it's good," he huffed. "Way worse when it happened and I couldn't even explain myself… But, uh… How'd I do for, uh, a date…?"
Still in a happy mood, she didn't think too long to answer.
"Yah, wherever you like," she said.
Zen just gave an unbalanced smile while he felt around his face and shook his head. His blue eyes clicked onto her face.
"Well, uh, where do you want to go?" Zen asked.
"I'll let you choose."
"Okay."
The elevator came to a smooth stop earlier than expected. Abigail noticed Aaron trying to get himself together by stretching and taking deep breaths.
"Hey, it's fine," Abigail said.
"You sure?" Aaron asked. "We make a pretty lit Pikachu trio."
"Yah, relax."
Aaron grunted as his body relaxed. Abigail wasn't sure where to look as the elevator door opened, so she stared up and away and pulled her cape around most of her body.
An Electivire and Sandlsash came into the elevator. They both seemed older and a little grizzled. Their haughty laughs completed the look before their eyes popped out of their heads. They froze, then dipped their heads and walked in.
Abigail kept her eyes moving to avoid staring. They got off on lower floors, so it was just her and the princes again. She felt a bit of release when the doors closed.
"Looked like engineers and scientists," Aaron observed.
When the doors opened again, Abigail led the way back to her own room. She unlocked the door using her phone for the first time, which ended up being easier. She didn't plan on jumping out of the window that much anymore, so she wanted to get used to it.
Aaron ordered a pizza and cake while Furret Abigail turned on the TV. She draped herself on the edge of her bed and looked at the screen sideways.
Buizel Zen, Quilava Gawain, Zorua Aaron took a seat in cushions facing the TV closer to it. They both laid on their backs using their phones.
"All set," Aaron said.
"Thanks," Abigail voiced.
Bored of staring at nothing, Abigail decided to turn on her phone. She had a text message.
"If you're back in the building, do you mind if I visit you?" - Anne
"Sure." - Abigail
"Hey, Anne's coming over," Abigail said.
"Really?" Zen asked. "She does seem to like you, though."
"What makes you say that?"
"I can tell."
"Oh."
"She's super intimidating, though," Aaron said. "Well, from what people tell me. I mean, I guess you technically could be, too. But you act like a flower girl, so most people forget you can kill them."
"And you give warm hugs," Zen added.
"Hugs? What?"
"Friendly neighborhood Lodestar," Aaron said.
"What's different about Anne?" she asked.
Aaron and Zen glanced at each other.
"She loses her cool sometimes," Aaron said. "Her parents pressured her into the N.A. in the first place. Lots of pressure, being a mythical class species, and being nineteen while in charge of the whole city's law enforcement."
"How'd that happen?" she asked. "I thought she was older."
"Shouldn't have in my opinion," Zen said. "Her parents made her drop out of school and had her work here. She's just a Master rank combat agent officially, but she handles Overlord tasks since there is none right now. Maybe that's what she wants to talk about."
"She said she wanted to visit."
"Nah," Aaron said. "Visit and talking about something are different."
"But I haven't really talked to her before," Abigail said.
"I feel she's lonely," Zen said sullenly. "Let's be nice, yah? You and her are pretty similar, so, maybe that's why she wants to come."
After a short minute, a knock came on the door.. Abigail got up and answered it.
She expected the Victini Anne, but didn't expect what she had with her. Her blue eyes glowed as she used Psychic to carry things with her. Bags of chips, cupcakes, and boxes of berries floated in the hallway. Abigail was impressed she held all of them at the same time.
"Hey," Anne greeted in a high voice, "I brought, uh, these snacks. And some games."
"Come on in," Abigail said.
Abigail stood out of Anne's way as she entered on foot. The objects floating in the air lined up and followed her in. she watched all of it file in, getting more amazed at how long the line was. She must've been carrying forty times her own body mass. Aaron and Zen had sat up and stared in amazement as Anne set all of it down.
"Crap," Aaron muttered. "I'm gonna get fat."
"We're statistically underweight," Zen said. "If anything, it's about time we fixed that."
"She's gonna fix it, alright. And the delivery guy for our pizza."
Abigail never got the chance to eat today yet. She'd been too distracted to get hungry, but the thought of food caught up to her. When she scanned it all, she noticed a pizza box with a plastic bag on top, and a chessboard.
"Oh, yah," Anne said. "I ran into the delivery guy and saved him the elevator trip. He seemed a little nervous. Looked glad I volunteered."
"Master Woods taught me chess," Abigail said. "Want to play?"
Abigail wasn't particularly good with people, but something clicked. Anne got a wide smile she didn't ever expect to see on her face, especially with how cool she acted in front of the royalty earlier.
She let her win the chess game a few times. They all chilled out for the rest of the day.
