Summary: Set somewhere after the old Charmed show ended. When Cole who's back to being a good and alive half demon half human comes back to life, he finds out that a human Katherine is in hell. He believes she doesn't belong there, so he rescues her. What will ensue between them?

It was a dismal night, as a human Katherine sat curled up against a wall of a cell. Ever since dying as a human, she'd been in hell, but as a human. She didn't know how long she'd been here, but her fight she usually had was gone. She couldn't fight anymore. All she had the energy to do anymore was sleep.

Suddenly, she heard an unfamiliar voice, which she assumed to be yet another demon come to torture her, but if that was true, it was strange for the demon to sound so kind.

"Katherine?" he called to her, but her human body didn't want to move, even if she wanted to, so she didn't move. Then the voice sounded closer. "I'm getting you out of here," the voice informed her.

When Cole Turner found the person he was looking for, he stood in front of her cell. He could tell that she'd been through some sort of torture. Unlike the others in a few cells, she didn't belong here, so he was gonna help her.

"Katherine?" he called to her, but she didn't move. Since this was hell, he had to be quick, though. It wouldn't take long for them to know that she was being rescued. With a key he'd taken after knocking out a guard, he opened the cell door. Then he knelt in front of her. "I'm getting you out of here," he informed her, as he looked at her. He could see the marks from the torture, as well as a fresh wound, including a head wound.

He put an arm around her, his free hand resting on her arm, and shimmered out of hell, ending up on earth in the newly rebuilt Halliwell mansion in the living room. He then let her go, letting her sit against the couch.

"Katherine, you're safe now. My name's Cole," he told her, as he rested a hand on the side of her face. "I know you've been through a lot, but you need to allow me to help you. You've been injured."

A few minutes after he told her that, she finally opened her eyes to see her rescuer. She now realized why she was so tired. It was the blood loss.

"Thank you," she said for once in her long life. Then she told him, "Help me on the couch. Right now, I don't think I can move without help."

He put an arm around her and slowly helped her up and to sit on the couch. He then let go and went to grab the first-aid from on top of the fridge. He then returned with it and sat next to her.

"So, what's your reason for saving me?" she asked, as she allowed him to take care of her lower stomach wound.

"You never belonged there. Besides, I'm half human and half demon, which makes me one of the good guys. I fell for a witch and she died many years ago, but she changed me. I was quite evil until I fell in love with her. I think Phoebe would want me to rescue someone that doesn't deserve to be tortured in hell."

"Well, thank you for the rescue then. Like I've always believed, no one is defined by their parents, so I don't care what you are."

She gave a smile, which was when he finished up. Then he gave a smile back.

Suddenly, their moment was interrupted.

"Down!" he told her, making her look to see someone in the room. As she looked and then started to get herself to the floor, he was quicker, shielding her from the attack, as he got her onto the floor, the demon's electric ball just missing her in time. Then he got up and fired a fireball at the demon, making it land on its mark, and the demon exploded into flames.

After he was sure there were no more demons showing up, he helped her up.

"I should've warned you. We'll have to look out for demons from now on. Because I rescued you, demons are going to try and kill both of us," he revealed to her.

"Then teach me to be prepared against demons," she replied, not really afraid. To her, it was just another threat, which she was good at taking down usually.

"It'll be tough. You're not a witch, nor do you have active powers," he informed and reminded her.

"I can handle it," she told him stubbornly, having never been one to back down from a fight.

"Follow me then," he said, and headed towards the stairs, which she followed. Then, soon enough, they were in the attic.

As the human stood in the attic, she saw that there was a trunk, but also some other things.

"What is all of this?" she asked him.

"Remnants of what Phoebe and her sisters left behind. I'm half demon, so I can't touch it, but in that trunk is their Book of Shadows. It's full of spells. You're welcome to go through everything, but the real reason for being here is to train," he explained, before picking up a sword.

"What's a sword going to do against a demon?" she wanted to know.

"At some point, it'll save your life," he answered her. "Not all demons have powers like that demon or like me."

"I'm ready for anything that comes my way usually as I'm sure you know, so I'm ready. Teach me how to fight a demon, because I'd rather not end up having to hide from demons for the rest of my life," she replied.

He picked up a sword and walked over to her, handing it to her.

"I assume you know how to use one of these," he said, knowing of at least part of her history. He knew she had grown up in a time when swords were still widely used, even if she was never allowed to use or touch one.

"Yes, actually. The person I had Nadia out of wedlock from taught me sword fighting in the beginning. Before everything went to hell," she informed him.

"Then you'll be good at this," he replied to her.

A few months later, she'd learned everything she could, including how to make her Traveler magic active, giving her the ability to protect herself if she needed to. Then, eventually, she and Cole fell in love.
