I'm pretty sure everyone here knows what the anime "Naruto" is about, am I right? Right, it's about a ninja with a fox spirit in him that dreams of being Hokage. And he also journeys on that dream of being Hokage. Yeah, everybody knows that story. I'm assuming that everyone here has also watched all of "Naruto" as well, right? You're probably thinking that everyone has watched all of "Naruto" right now, but that's technically not the case.

Some people, like me, never really grew up watching anime which seemed like a bummer. I've only heard rumors about "Naruto" and this and that. Most of the rumors lead to only one series, so it's not like people are lying to me about what they watched. But anyway, I didn't really grow up watching the anime that many know and love. It's kind of hard for me to relate when people say they love this fight scene or they love this character. I know they all aren't the same, but still. It's hard to keep that conversation going if you don't really know what happens.

My family, if you didn't know, is a very strict family who's also racist and in denial.

Since my parents want to save electricity so that the electric bill doesn't skyrocket, we only have two TVs instead of three. That doesn't really make all that much of a big difference though.

They also don't like hearing about news from some other countries, specifically in the Asian countries. If they do hear some news from those countries, they always refer to them all as "Chinese" for some reason.

It's 2021, almost close to 2022, why are we still being racist?

…I have yet to get an answer to that question.

Anyway, you can see where this is going. If I were to try and watch "Naruto" on the TV in my living room, and they were to walk in and catch me watching an episode of it, they'd turn it off and tell me to go into my room and go to sleep. And then they'd mock the little dialogue that they heard in Japanese.

Ah, did I forget to mention that they think racist jokes are funny? Like, they like to mock the language by mimicking it and…it's just…not funny? I'm not laughing, so what makes you think that that's funny?

*Sigh*

Having parents like this is a pain to deal with.

And so, being the angsty highschool freshman I was, I made up a pointless wish before I went to sleep, and I knew that it would never happen since things like that don't exist. I mean like, spirit switching and dimension traveling. You know, stuff like that.

As I got into my bed, I looked at the blackout curtains that my mom was lucky enough to get me. After settling into my bed, I push my blankets out of the way and crawl over to my windowsill that was blocked out by the blackout curtains. I push one of the curtains aside to look outside. Surprisingly, the moon was out tonight which happens once every few months or something like that. I guess it's a sign that I'll be sleeping a little bit more tonight then.

I pull the curtain closer to the other curtain and then crawl backwards so that I'm in a position that I like so that I can go to sleep. I closed my eyes and unaware of what happened earlier, I went ahead and slept.

Okay so, you know how I don't know what happened earlier? You probably don't either so I'll give you a few hints. Normally around this time, my parents are still awake since they don't go to sleep until way later than me. Unless they're really tired, which I'll know since I hear it a bazillion times.

So, you can take an educated guess as to what might've happened to them.

Moving on, yeah so I'm asleep. I'm snuggled in my blankets that are piled on more blankets. Mind you, since it's freezing cold outside, that's why I sleep with so much on my body.

As I continue to sleep, I start to have this weird ass dream.

The dream goes something like this: My body starts to glow white and my spirit starts to leave my body. After my spirit leaves my body, everything blacks out from there.

Yeah. Pretty short, right? Well, that's exactly what happened to me right now. I'm not some kind of psychic or anything but that's what was happening to me right now. My body was glowing a white light that was so bright that everyone from across the world could see it. And I'm not exaggerating. It's true! And so, after that, my spirit leaves my body and my mind goes along with it. So now, what I can see isn't darkness anymore since I'm currently awake now. I can see my own body right now, so that's pretty cool. But anyway, after my mind and spirit leave my body, some random old dude with a cane? Or is that some kind of magic wand?

Anyway, he appeared in front of me and he was hovering and crisscrossed.

When I say that this dude looked weird, I mean it. He had horns coming out of his head. His eyes looked like onions and one of them, I'm guessing that's his third eye, looked like an onion that was soaked in red food coloring.

Why…was he just sitting there like that? I…what does he want with me? I'm not scared, I'm just…weirded out and fucking confused because what.

I just looked at him, dumbfounded. I mean, who is this guy anyway? Wait. Don't tell me. Is he from "Naruto" just like um…what was his name? Naruto Uzumaki? I swear to God…

"You must be the child of great despair. Judging by your gloomy aura, your previous life must've been a tough one to go through. And being able to see your spirit here in front of me, it's indeed such a sight."

Wait, is he talking about my hair? I dyed it a couple of months ago if that's what he's talking about when he says "It's indeed such a sight" or whatever. I mean, I know it's a sight to behold. I did get it dyed red so, ha ha, yeah.

"Ah. You can speak, can you? I just want to make sure I'm not talking to myself right now."

And he went from talking anciently to talking how I'd normally talk. This guy…is totally weird. He's definitely a "Naruto" character. It's a gut feeling.

"Um…yeah. I…I can speak. I'm just, utterly baffled right now that I don't really have any words to say right now. I…I have so many questions like "Who are you?" and "How did you get into my room?" since I don't really let strangers in my room."

Currently, I was on my guard right now since I don't really know who this guy is. Hopefully he tells me his name and who he is.

"I guess I'll answer your questions then. To answer your first question, my name is Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki and I am the Sage of Six Paths. And to answer your second question, I'm not in your room. You are in the spirit realm so your room as you speak of is now a figment of your imagination."

Well, that was easy—WAIT WHAT?! I…I've heard that name before at school. Oh God. Oh sweet baby Jesus. If this were an anime right now about my lame and boring life, right now, you'd probably see those three black dots above my head which meant that I was dead silent.

"So…am I dead right now?"

"Technically speaking, yes."

Oh great. So now I'm dead and I'm talking to some guy named Hagoromo. Well, that's great. So what now? From the corner of my eye, I see Hagoromo frown at me. I must've looked stressed since he was looking at me in that way.

"Your wish…you said that you wanted to live a different life from your own, is that right? There are plenty of civilians that you could switch places with."

"Can I have a different body to switch with? Being a civilian seems kinda lame."

And there goes my dumbass talking out of my ass when I should be staying quiet. Hagoromo's probably gonna suggest switching bodies with some fucked up person.

"There is one particular person that you could switch bodies with. That is, if you're willing to take up the offer. And mind you, this family isn't any ordinary family. Since you don't necessarily want to be normal, you can be a part of this family."

"…I'll take up that offer."

"Very well then."

And I just might've taken up the dumbest offer in all of the history of humanity. Here I am, fresh out of middle school and going into high school as a freshman and I'm taking up the offer of some random old dude with supposed powers and I'm transferring my spirit and my mind into the body of some person I have yet to know yet. Man, I'm so dumb. I should've just kept my mouth shut.

After a while of silence, a pitch black portal opens up.

I look at Hagoromo with a smile on my face, knowing damn well what I just did. Though, his face didn't mirror what I had. His face was serious, and his lips were in a thin line. Damn, I really should've just kept my mouth shut.

"I wish you the very best of luck. Miwa's family lineage isn't something to laugh at. And you'll learn soon enough that she's sort of a descendant of mine."

"Huh—"

Before I could even answer him, the portal sucked me in and before I knew it, I was in another state of sleep.
