There was nothing but silence between the two of us.
Me and Urashiki were in mid air, floating beside each other as we looked upon Konohagakure, or Konoha for short. This was the village that the Nine Tails lives in with the rest of the civilians and the Jinchuuriki, Naruto, even becomes Hokage in this village. Isn't that something?
Well anyway, we looked over the village as night fell over the sky above us. My lips were in a thin line as I pondered over what I wanted to say to Urashiki.
My attachment for him was greater than I thought that it was borderline affection at this point. Yeah, that's right. I've fallen in love with Urashiki. FALLEN in LOVE. Even I can't believe it. The both of us are technically…like…celestial beings?? Erm…you know, aliens?? And we take the shape of humans. So, I dunno, it's sort of weird for me to say that. The love that I had for him was greater than Momoshiki and Kinshiki, and it's funny since they're sort of like my family, I guess.
And I definitely wasn't subtle about it either. I remember floating by his side when we all set out to go to the Shinobi World, in search of the Tailed Beasts. When I was coughing like crazy because of my supposed illness, he was there to comfort me. And I accepted it. I even looked into his eyes for way too long for it to be comfortable.
I guess it was my first time falling in love back then. And it still is since I'm still in denial about it for some reason. Though, I'm pretty sure I look like a schoolgirl that was in love with her senpai. Lovestruck as hell.
I glanced over at Urashiki, my cheeks slowly warm up from the overwhelming amount of nervousness that was rushing through my body. God, why was it so quiet and awkward? It was like I was on thin ice right now. And so, I decided to break the silence by calling his name, and quietly too.
"…Urashiki," From out of the corner of my eye, I watched him turn to look at me. His arms rested against his chakra fishing rod as he looked at me with a lazy grin. "Promise me something, okay?"
"Yes of course, Lady Miwa. What is it?"
"Return to me, please. I'm not quite sure why you're going out of your way to do all this…I mean, going after Naruto and whatnot. But just…just come back to me after you're done with whatever you need to do. I won't interfere. I just want you by my side."
Urashiki's eyes widened at the promise I made to him. I'm guessing he's not used to something so serious being told to him in such an emotional manner. I mean, he's probably gotten a lot of serious requests from Momoshiki but this was probably different for him. No, it was definitely different for him.
His expression softened and his lips curled into a thin line. He looks way more serious than earlier now. We both mirrored the same expression. What Urashiki was attempting to do with Naruto and Nine Tails, from what I'm assuming, was not an easy task. Momoshiki had a hard time dealing with him. So this time around, Urashiki's probably trying to suppress his bloodthirsty urges just for my sake. He doesn't want to make the same mistake as his superior, I can tell that's probably what he's thinking right now.
He turns to face me straight in the face. He takes his arms off of his chakra fishing rod. And then, he takes my hand and holds it in his own hands. My eyes go wide slightly as the faintest tint of red appears on his cheeks.
So…he's in love with me too, huh.
Urashiki looks into my eyes briefly before he looks down. "You don't have to worry about that, Lady Miwa. I'll come back to you. You have to go to a village called Yugakure for your medicine. They have medicine, medical support, and hot springs that can help treat your illness. You should focus on that for now."
I sigh before I slip my hands out of his hands. I cup his face and look at him, with furrowed eyebrows and a pout probably. His expression changes into a surprised one.
"Lady Miwa…"
"How about this, let's both meet up in that volcanic dimension we were in earlier before we left to go and find the Eight Tails, does that sound good?"
"Yeah, that sounds good."
"Alright then."
I let go of Urashiki's cheeks and slowly float backwards, away from him. He regains his composure and pulls out his chakra fishing rod. We both look at each other with a smile on our faces before we both set out on our goals. My goal was to go to Yugakure and get a cure for my illness before I die sooner or later. Urashiki's goal was to find the Nine Tails, which was in Naruto at the time.
I'll spare you guys from having to read too much. So after about, I'd say, a week, I was finally cured from my illness. I went over to Yugakure, which was a village that was fully pacifist. They didn't do any fighting, or any kind of war. I'm glad that I got to see a pacifist village. But yeah, I was finally cured of my sickness. So that meant that I was able to move around freely without anything weighing me down.
As for Urashiki, he hasn't came back yet. I went into the volcanic dimension from earlier and waited for him. Maybe, he went to another dimension instead? I hoped that he hadn't died because that would completely crush me in two.
Was I in love? Be honest.
(Okay okay, maybe I was. No actually, I definitely was.)
Well anyway, now I was on the hunt. For that bastard Urashiki, since he's making me anxious. My eyebrows furrowed as I opened up a portal with my Rinnegan. A black portal slowly opens up in front of me and I slowly float over to it. I never go back on my promises, so I'd better see him somewhere and I'd better sense his chakra somewhere. We have immense amounts of chakra so it won't be that hard to find him. Well, I hope it won't be that hard to find him. I float into the portal and it closes behind me as I enter into another dimension.
Wait, what…is this? This dimension looked like some kind of paradise! The grass I was standing on was lush and beautiful. The sand that was not too far from me was almost white, but I could tell that it was tan. The sun above me was beating happily and it shone over this small little island. This place looks like a vacation destination, since it looks so beautiful in my eyes.
I start to look around the island, as I search for where Urashiki might've been. I flinch when I heard some rustling coming from the bushes. Preparing myself, I turn to look at the bushes that were near a few palm trees. "Come out already!" I shout.
And then, a snort. "I'm already out."
"Eep!" I whipped my head around quickly to see that Urashiki was standing right over me with a smile on his face. His chakra fishing rod was in his left hand and his right hand was against his hip. His whole entire expression looked warm and loving. What was this all about?
"…Oh, Urashiki. So, you finished what you needed to do, didn't you?"
"Eh, more or less. It's more like, I got caught in a stalemate and so I decided to flee."
"Oh okay."
"And what about you? Did you find a cure for your illness?"
I nod and look down at the floor, not wanting to look Urashiki in the eyes. He puts a hand on my shoulder as a response. My cheeks slowly heat up and I slowly lift my head up and look up at Urashiki. He notices the embarrassed look on my face and quickly took his hand off of my shoulder, his cheeks slowly turning red and heating up as well. We both turn away for a minute before looking back at each other. God, what are we? A bunch of virgins falling in love? Well, I guess we are in a way.
I hugged Urashiki with all of my night and buried my head in his chest. That probably startled him since it took a while for him to return the hug. He soon hugged me back after letting his chakra fishing rod go. He started rubbing my back as I tighten my grip on him.
"Thank you…for coming back."
"Anything for you, Lady Miwa. After all, you are my top priority over everything else I do."
I smile widely against Urashiki's chest as tears start to gather up in my eyes. So…is this what true love feels like? I…I love this so much. I love him so much. I wish that Momoshiki and Kinshiki were a bit more like Urashiki.
They're both thinking about me, yes, but do they actually care to stick around beside me when I need it the most? Absolutely not. After all, Kinshiki sacrificed himself for Momoshiki's advances to his final form. And then Momoshiki dies after fighting Naruto and the other shinobi that are also kage of their villages, I assume.
At least Urashiki was more rational. He retreated because he knew if he were to advance, the same damn thing would've happened to him too.
"Let's continue to stay together, Urashiki…"
"Of course…Miwa."
