A demon and an earth spirit walk into a body; both with a duty to fulfill. The wolf says, ' I was here first-' It was a bad joke and it was happening to Carina in the early morning light. She had absolutely no idea how she might wake the morning after her induction to the pack, but listening to two spirits inside her arguing had certainly not made the list of possibilities. A wolf pup nuzzled against her bare stomach and she remembered that it was Dante; reborn. She refocused on the bickering inside herself. Apparently a fire spirit, which she had mistaken as a demon, had made a home with her just as the coppery wolf also had. She could feel them both fighting for control over her body. She wondered for a moment if they could hear her, and shouted at them within her mind. The bickering stopped and Carina's body shook as she tried to stand.
Two spirits inside a body with a spirit of its own fighting each other is going to tear said body apart, so if you don't mind, come to an agreement like the ancient and wise spirits you are and not the children you are acting as!
They seemed to listen and were quiet as she found the manor and made her way back to her clothes before the other pack members woke up. She dressed and called on Lucifer with Dante keeping a watchful eye over her. Lucifer appeared as always in a haze of black smoke.
"Yes, my dear?"
"Is there danger coming? I feel the other spirit inside me. I feel...like I'm burning."
"I have not yet begun. The fire spirit is there to test your body's limits. To inform me of how much you can take when the time does come so that I do not accidentally break my promise."
"And how much has it told you?"
Lucifer smirked. "That you do not take kindly to possession."
Carina rolled her eyes. "I'm ready. Do what you must. I want this over with."

The pack all woke up in various places around the manor's gardens. Severus had managed to keep his more human wits about him enough to carry his wand with him in his mouth and put it somewhere safe as a wolf. He summoned fresh clothes to all of the members and they dressed. Just as Severus was coming out of a clearing of trees, fully clothed, the sound of thunder could be heard echoing over the entire grounds. Looking up, there wasn't a cloud in the sky. He knew that sound. It was the sound of his master carrying out his will. He could see in his mind's eye, his master banging his cane on the ground.
"Pansy!" He screamed as he ran to the manor entrance.
Footsteps thundered up the stairs to the room where Carina could be heard screaming from. As they flung the door open, Pansy gasped and covered her mouth as tears sprang from her eyes. Severus took in a shaky breath. He knew she would survive and that she would be fine, but no father could see a sight like the one he was witnessing and not be afraid.
"Don't look, my friend." Lucifer whispered from a dark corner of the room. "It looks worse than it is." Lucifer didn't know exactly what would happen. As he said, no one had ever been worthy of his gifts until now. Even he couldn't deny the twinge of human emotion he felt at the sight. He was no stranger to horrid things, to be sure, but he didn't actually like any of those people. He felt ashamed to be so effected.
"Oh my- Arellia!" Pansy screamed for the pack's healer to help her sister. Lucifer assured them it wouldn't help.
"Please, do not interfere. There is no precedent for this. You may make things worse."
The entire pack had come to witness the death and rebirth of their young Mistress.
Carina was not faring well. She went crashing to her knees as the wolf spirit within her willingly stepped aside and the fire spirit took total control. It whirled within her consuming everything. Tears of pain turned to steam on her cheeks and strands of her hair flew about in an invisible currant of heat. At first she tried to maintain dignity, then she began to whimper. By the time her family burst through the door, she was screaming. It was a dry rough sound as though she'd been doing it for hours. The fire spirit, ever hungry continued to consume. Her blood began to boil in her veins, then it began to evaporate completely. The moisture had been sucked from her skin and even her eyes. She grasped at a bed post and fell on her side as her skin began to burn. It flaked off in charred bits and scattered. The pack was horrified. Her sister and uncle tried to go to her, but Dante crouched over her and growled ferociously; venom dripping from his dagger like canines. They backed off and the little wolf nudged Carina onto her back and curled up on top of her stomach. No one noticed that the screaming had stopped. Instead, they couldn't take their eyes off of Dante as pup and master burned together. All hair and fur had burned up and their skin was black and cracked in red like lava. The hell hound was revealed beneath the burning guise of the wolf and he looked completely content to be bathed in flames. Carina however, appeared to have not survived.
Severus was on his knees sending silent pleas to his master. Pansy tried to get closer to her sister and Lucifer held up a hand to stop her. There, a twitch. Carina began to move. The fire over her skin had turned the charred mess into skin that was smooth, shining and black like obsidian. The blackness was dense but the red of her heart, bright and glowing, could only just be seen through her chest. Her eyes were gone and a faint orange glow was all that could be seen in their place. Carina's mind had been put to sleep for its own safety, and only the wolf and fire spirits were awake in her. The fire spirit, having done its job, slowly faded away and the wolf took control. Being a spirit of life gave it the power to give Carina's new body what death could not. The wolf inside thrashed against the stone of Carina's skin until it shattered away, leaving Carina's wolf form in its place.
Carina's mind was waking up but her body was exhausted. She knew the feeling would be temporary. She knew her mind had to adjust to what ever changes were made. The actual changes were still a mystery. She wouldn't know what she could do until she had to find out, but for now, her canine body slumped, she whimpered, and closed her eyes, breathing heavily. Dante, back in a full state of wolf fur, bumped his head into her side and lay across her paws.
The pack was stunned. Even Lucifer was shocked at what she had undergone. "Can she have some water now?" Pansy asked in a whisper.
"Best not, dear." Lucifer answered. "She's still hot. Don't want her to crack."
Pansy nodded, pretending to understand. No one had noticed that the entire ordeal had taken the entire day and the sun was already setting. The pack and Lucifer all sat around her, as close as Dante and the heat would allow, and watched over her through the night. Severus was the first to touch her. He soothed her fur long into the night until he, along with the others, fell asleep. When he woke up, the sun had been up for a while. Carina was back in her familiar human form covered in a blanket and a wolf pup. Lucifer beckoned to him.
"You'll need to test her, train her. Keep me informed if any weaknesses were overlooked. I have business to attend, I must leave."
"Yes, Master," Severus bowed his head. "Thank you for staying to watch over her with me."
"It would have been irresponsible for me not to watch over my endeavors." Lucifer gave an almost kind smile as he tapped his cane down and disappeared.
