Chapter 103 - Uplifting Perfectors
Today was the day. Izuku had been nervous, to say the least, even waking up to stare at how goofy Yuki looked when she was in the middle of a dream didn't lighten the burden on his mind, well, it did for a bit. Himself, Akio, Kyoka, Kacchan, and Yuki. The circle that knew of One For All was already large enough, but now, now that risk was about to implode on itself right before his eyes.
"So..." Sero began.
"What..." Ochaco continued.
"Should we do?" Tsui finished.
"Thank you for helping out on such short notice," All Might thanked the trio.
How should Izuku proceed? What if his muttering revealed details that would arise questions? Was he overthinking this? "I'd like some advice on handling my new power."
He bowed his head to Sero, Tsui, and Ochaco. Ochaco and Sero were the best, aside from Akio and Katsuki, at controlling themselves and others while airborne. As for Tsui, her control over her tongue made her instrumental in controlling an airborne person's trajectory.
"Huh, I guess that makes sense," Sero put his hands behind his head, crap, Izuku muttered that, didn't he? Though the boy gave the nerd a befuddled look. "Why the change in training? Is this about that Blackwhip of yours?"
"K-kinda, it's really hard to explain..." He looked to his only source of aid in the training ground, Yuki. She was standing with All Might and Katsuki, the latter of which seemed completely disinterested in the training himself. "How did you describe it again?"
"Air pressure and Blackwhip are instrumental to your mobility, but you lack that stable center of gravity like Ocha or myself," Yuki explained, tapping her shoulders. "When I use a copy of my Mom's quirk, I have to constantly adjust my sense of balance on the fly, like when I discussed with you shifting your percentages mid-combat, it's a variation of parallel processing that Endeavor beat into that noggin of yours."
"Deku, are you sure?" Ochaco raised her hand, smiling slightly at how out of the blue this request was. "I mean, of course, I'll help out, but wouldn't you rather focus on completely controlling your quirk first?"
"It's true, I'd want that more than anything, but..." He looked at his gloved hands, staring at the scars lining his arms, despite Yuki's repairs to his bones, he still felt his scars pulse with a lingering ghost of their trauma. "...I can't become complacent, I need to broaden my skills to the best of my ability. My power can be used to further my mobility beyond air pressure attacks, so I want to start perfecting that."
"Taking a page from me, I'm jealous," Yuki teased, her hand bouncing off his hair. "But it's a smart move, but I can't maintain my flight, just like my Mom, and since my Valorgod form is a weaker variation that's even more apparent."
Ochaco's smile faltered, turning into a humorous twitch. "So, uh, what's with the new do...?" Upon pointing out how Izuku's hair stuck up into an afro, Yuki immediately doubled over in laughter. Katsuki glanced over, drinking water with a glare.
"This? It's because I keep losing in a training exercise we called 'Catch-A-Kacchan with Blackwhip'," His smile never faltered, in fact, he looked almost enlightened by the experience. "Haven't caught him once yet... actually, I wanted to ask you, Sero, about dealing with fast-moving targets since you've got a similar quirk."
"But why do explosions come into play!?" Ochaco gaped at Yuki's chalkboard diagram of the experience, as well as the tally that was heavily in Katsuki's favor. The brunette rolled her eyes to her boyfriend who stiffened up slightly. "Once a jerk, always a jerk, Katsuki."
"The damn nerd asked for it, what do you want from me!?" He huffed, trying to fight off her hands from grabbing him while Tsui prodded him while his guard was focused on Ochaco's 'assault'.
"Then tell me what I can do! I'm still learning to use my wires," Ochaco added, not taking her eyes off Katsuki as she tried to make him float, his right hand shoved against her cheek as she grinned mischievously. "Just yield!"
"Get off of me!" He was fighting a losing battle.
"Hey, shouldn't Mr Aizawa be the guy to teach him about whip techniques?" Sero questioned All Might who looked a little perturbed. But he shook it off, putting the tips of his fingers together in gratitude.
"Professor Uraraka, you're here to teach him about body control and breaking in midair,"
"But, Deku's already good at bouncing around?" Ochaco cocked her head.
"Like hippity hoppity," Asui added cutely.
"More power means more hangtime," Yuki pointed out as the girls made a sound of understanding. "We've all seen what one-hundred percent does so with his gauge at the three-quarter mark it's very apparent."
"And he needs to master advanced mobility in the air," All Might tacked on, thinking to their Homeroom teacher. "As for Aizawa... your teacher is busy at the moment."
With the explanation out of the way, the group quickly got to work on helping with Izuku's airborne control. Yuki was here just to observe and apply augments if needed, so her reasons for being here were pretty barebones. But supporting one's partner was a good motivator, not that Izuku needed it by her experience but no harm in it, right?
Well, to ruin her mood, her phone buzzed. Yuki lost her smile for a calm but knitted frown, analyzing the text from Dr. Yoshiharu, never had the old man ever given her false information, even if it conflicted with his standing as a researcher. 'Yoshiharu: Crows are singing, managed to coax them into nesting'
She let out a breathy chuckle at his newest analogy, but again, a tightest presented itself. She closed her phone with a sigh. "Typical..."
It appears the officials aren't happy | Trying to worm information out of the Doctor | They still view us with malicious intent
"Well, when your power not only comes from a villain but upsets their views on how a 'real peaceful society' should function, not to mention UA as a whole, what else was there to expect?" Of all of Yuki's issues, this remained closely tied with her, her mother, Principle Nezu, and All Might. She wouldn't stress Izuku over her own war in the background. "Let them think what they want."
Aren't you concerned? | If they so pleased, they could pressure more than just the Doctor and us | We are treading on ice
She stared back at Izuku's progress, smiling nervously as Sero helped stabilize his movements in the air like a human kite. "Even if I'm attacked, I won't let this life slip through my fingers." Yuki would sooner become a villain than ever allow the higher-ups of the Hero industry to tear her family away from her.
"You good, you've been glaring at the ground?" Sero cut her thoughts short, and Yuki flashed a fanged grin.
"Just stupid live problems, how's he doing?" She asked as he adjusted his binding on Izuku while he used two Blackwhips to catch the rockwall... after faceplanting said wall twice.
"So far so good! Keep it up, Midoriya, try not to stiffen up so much!" He called.
"Okay!" He yelled back.
Behind Yuki, the girl caught onto whatever All Might and Katsuki were discussing. Katsuki had been quiet for the duration of the training. Sure, he still yelled and belittled Izuku when the emerald successor screwed up but for the most part he kept his temper in check, now, Yuki knew why.
Katsuki leaned back on the rocky seat, glowering at his class working to aid Izuku in his training for Float. "You can't keep fooling people forever," The words cut deep like a knife for the Symbol and rising Kell. Yuki watched as Tsui swung Izuku forward with her tongue but her ears listened closely. "This ain't like when it was just super strength, pretty soon, the cat's gonna fly outta the bag; Longears and Blank know, Kovik up and basically said we're hiding something too."
"I'm not telling anyone anything beyond Blackwhip, Young Azuru's case of it being a condensed manifestation of raw energy has sufficed for now, and this training should prevent the next power from exploding out the way this one did, with the exception of Danger Sense." All Might answered, never taking his eyes off his students.
"That night you seemed to understand how someone with great power bestowed upon them needs to think very carefully about how it puts others at risk," All Might's words had a double meaning, his electric blue orbs flashing to Yuki's back. "It's not only the wicked that seek power."
There was a pregnant pause, Katsuki choosing his next words with the same level of scorn in his tone, but his gaze wasn't nearly as heated. "Deku trusts you with his life but... in the notebook about the successors, your summary of the fourth one was kinda half-finished, only that one. Meanwhile, you wrote down detailed notes on all the others. Like the cause of death for the fifth, sixth, and seventh, why is that?"
"And then when I brought it up, you didn't tell me anything, huh?" Katsuki had cut through the spots missing from All Might's information faster than Yuki ever could. She never realized All Might had specially forgone any intel on what led to the death of the fourth. Then again, she hadn't read anything on the other holders aside from what All Might taught her from years back.
Katsuki pressed the issues, glaring at All Might's shadowed expression, "Well? Did you figure something out about One For All!?"
"Not yet." His gaze focused again, tone firm and calm with a steel undertone. "I don't want to speculate and talk about things I'm not certain of... I feel I have failed to deliver on any useful information before during Young Midoriya's earlier developments, and now, I'm trying to rake up whatever I can find." He needed to do better, as his mentor, he had to try and set a better example, if not now, then the chance may never come.
In a lighter tone than before, All Might admitted it. "I'm worried about him... you are too," That perked Yuki's head up slightly. She didn't doubt Katsuki's involvement but this was an unexpected point of view from All Might. But... was it true?
For once, Katsuki's scowl brushed off to the side, irked at All Might's answer, knowing very well that damn Mute was listening in, she wasn't standing there for the shits and giggles. But, with a long-winded pause, Katsuki stared at his lap, glancing over at Izuku as Sero showed him how to better his posture with his arms.
"He just... deep down he doesn't take himself into account, y'know?" Both listening in knew that all too well, but none better than Katsuki. "He's always been like that, and now that he can do so much more... something doesn't feel right, it makes me wanna keep him at arm's length."
This admittance from the explosive blonde made Yuki finally turn to see the expression he was making. It wasn't his normal, aggravated state, he looked disturbed... worried. Now, Yuki flashed her gaze to the boy she had bonded to many times, in more ways than one, what else was left unseen? Was... there something Izuku was still keeping buried? Her eyes returned to Katsuki.
"Back then, I ignored my own weakness... so I ended up bullying him, I screwed up in more ways than one, like a fucking joke," No anger, only a plain, calm tone raised his voice. "Though I'm sure he doesn't see it that way."
All Might raised his head. "When I said you and Endeavor were alike, I meant about that change. He couldn't take a good look at himself until I wound up like this." He jabbed a thumb at his chest. The Symbol smiled slightly, he didn't go beyond a considerate face, even as Katsuki looked stuck between a glare and genuine insecurity. "You'll get a chance to talk... eventually, not that I'm in a position to say much..."
It appears he has grown | Katsuki Bakugo is prideful, very much so | Yet, he carries a burden of redemption on his shoulders
"Yeah..." Yuki smiled slightly, turning back to the training. "...Dumb-Dumb is pretty cool."
"You want us to fight?" "You want me to kick his ass?"
The young couple had to take a small double-take as All Might grinned broadly, pumping his right fist. "That's right, put what you've learned today into practice! Of course, I'm not expecting immediate results but this is a perfect opportunity to study against airborne opponents."
"Uh, not that I'm against beating my own ma - ahem, boyfriend into the ground, sorry," She offered sweetly as Izuku slumped at her words. "But I've had much more experience in airborne combat than Zuzu, Katsuki more than me."
All Might nodded at that, hesitantly glancing over at the blonde still sitting on his own. "Not that I doubt Young Bakugo's capabilities, but... I feel Recovery Girl won't help us if we bring Young Midoriya in for head trauma," Everyone sweatdropped at the man's reluctance to face that sort of verbal thrashing.
The two teens looked at one another with an exotic stare none could place, then again, when you basically merge minds as frequently as they did it left an impression no relationship could. When had they last fought head-on? Not accounting for Ravage's nanotech augment infecting Yuki, the Summer Camp, maybe? Had it really been that long ago?
"You two haven't fought in a while, bet it'll be more intense now," Tsui hit the nail perfectly.
"Well, I for one think you guys should do it!" Ochaco encouraged them with that friendly aura of hers, tapping her fingers together. "I can make you both float, that way the match will be fair and I can continue to work on my stamina."
"Well..." Yuki gave a side glance to Izuku who stood with a buzz of energy, grinning back sheepishly.
"I think a small spar would be good." In truth, he really wanted to go all out against Yuki, he wanted to show her personally how much he's grown. Little did he know, the twinkle in the machinist's own eye shared that concept.
"Excellent!" All Might clapped. "Like I said, only to gauge what you've learned, but don't be afraid to give it your all, Plus Ultra, remember!?"
"Right, sir!"
With themselves soon floating above the ground thanks to Ochaco, the pair stared toward one another, Yuki's balance much greater seeing as she held a lax stance mid-air than Izuku could, his arms trembling slightly to control his involuntary movements. With a bright blue sheen, Yuki poured from both her clusters and the mounds of scrap metal saved for the occasion to suit up to a steady twenty percent, dawning her Blackbird augment since they were indoors, and her mobility like her mother's wasn't that stellar with larger wings and jet propulsion.
Despite his rocky start, Izuku closed his fists, feeling the embers of the visages' within him burning brighter. "I've come so far since Camp though..." He remembered Banjo's words about controlling his heart. "Even back then, I hadn't realized how much the other users were helping me..." He remembered fighting in an angered state at camp when Shinomori, the fourth user, helped him to focus on balancing his emotions. "I've been blessed with so many amazing people along the way..." The spikes of Overhaul's attack could've killed him and Yuki had Shimura not instinctive triggered Float too.
Emerald sparks flew from his skin, raising his output to thirty percent, the edges of his gauntlets bubbling with blackish-blue energy. Again, his eyes shimmered red, green, and white for an instant. "...you and All Might have done so much I can't begin to express my gratitude," This was the best way he knew how. "I'm ready!"
"Begin!" All Might declared with their friends watching from the sidelines.
There wasn't really any need for that input, the two just 'knew' when to make the first move. Yuki closed the gap first as Izuku's Danger Sense flagged Blackwhip into binding him to the edges of the training ground, tanking Yuki's boots straight to his own. Of course, he spun around several times, back pressed to the entrance wall of the building as the bindings became taut, flinging Izuku forward as Yuki spun around.
Her right leg swept over Izuku's head, himself using his freed left hand to fire an air blast across her mask as forward momentum tossed him down. Threshing his arm in hopes to ensnare her with the same arm, he gasped as she caught the blackwhip midair, pulling Izuku into her right hook, feeling his stomach twist as he slammed into the ceiling. Yuki wasn't going to hold back just because of their status together, she wouldn't insult him. Neither would he.
Falling into a spin, Izuku shook his head and threshed both arms, kicking to recover from his hasty escape from her two energy blasts. She was in hot pursuit now, eyes narrowed through her mask. Thinking ahead, Izuku swung with his right arm, using the rafters above to better propel himself across the arena as Yuki caught up, going for a wide roundhouse again.
His eyes sparked, and Izuku's trajectory turned sharply, firing a whip under his right armpit as the black tendril shot by Yuki, and he spun, cracking her across the cheek with his elbow as she formed another pair of arms to grab his left arm. Using his feet, he pressed his soles to her stomach, performing a mid-air backflip to smack her across the chin, firing two blasts that, while knocking him against the side of the manmade cliff, caught Yuki's stomach and left forearm.
Yuki fired two blasts behind her, then an extra burst from her jets sent her flying toward an equally fast-approaching ball of green. The two slammed their hands together, interlocked in a struggle for success, issue was, Yuki had that constant momentum from her jet boosts, Izuku had nothing and was quickly losing the battle of strength.
"In a power struggle, the stronger side always wins regardless," Izuku knew that, he needed her to see that, even with his brow creased and a burning passion in his eyes, he couldn't refrain from smirking. "So, if I can't outright overpower her, then I can at least use it against her!"
Her eyes flashed with surprise as she was twirled past Izuku, the pressure building suddenly released as rock met face pretty quickly. Unfortunately, Izuku didn't account for the whiplash of that pressure either, trying to catch himself with blackwhip failed as another force quickly caught his waist.
"Gotcha!" From below, Sero and Tsui used their quirks to catch Izuku before he met a similar fate to the machinist groveling in the dirt. "Nice work up there, you actually did pretty well for your first real match!"
"T-thanks, Sero, all of you!" Izuku smiled gratefully as Yuki sat on the edge of the cliff, removing her mask with a satisfied look that left Izuku's heart melting. "You okay, Yuki!?"
"I've had worse!" She waved, clicking her tongue. "Not bad, Zuzu, not bad at all..." She'd thank him later for the exciting match, for now, they could relish in a good first day of airborne training.
Before returning to their dorm, the trio spoke with All Might briefly about squeezing in training sessions with Sero, Ochaco, and Tsui later down the line. That was when Izuku brought up something the Symbol couldn't believe...
Lost in the realm of dreams, Izuku felt his eyes flutter open to that familiar void within his mind. It wasn't as big as before, it probably wouldn't last as long this time. Instead of another new visage, he instead was given a proper introduction from a certain, raven-haired woman.
"Nice to finally meet you properly, Midoriya, was it?" His eyes widened, blinking into a nod, his mouth remained shrouded in darkness but it felt thinner.
Shimura smiled softly, noting the change. "You're starting to get the hang of it, just a little more, kid, but before then, my Quirk's gonna start sprouting," She patted her hips. "Look, my time's brief, wish I could say more but a lot's changed, some of us feel like we can be at peace, well, we'd like to be?"
What did she mean by that? Izuku wished he could speak, ask her about her past, her quirk, even of her time training All Might or facing All For One. Instead, she appeared to distort with blackish-white smog just like Banjo did. His hand reached out for her, but instead, he felt two warm hands cup his with Shimura passing along a warm, motherly expression.
"You've done so well, and tell Toshinori... I'm so proud of him, he may not have teaching down like I did, but..." Her eyes stared at Izuku as his own mother would. Care and love on full display. "...he was the best successor I could've asked for."
When Izuku finished retelling of his brief meeting with the seventh user, the reaction he got was one he felt both surprised and grateful to have seen. All Might had only ever briefly shown softer emotions, like sadness, grief, and love. That's not to say the hero never did display a form of love for his students as any proud teacher would.
"She really said that...?" All Might placed a hand just over his eyes, a smile touched by such words that when he revealed his face he had to wipe a few stray tears. He looked so relieved, a massive weight that wasn't visible before lifting from his lanky shoulders. "Thank you, my boy, for sharing this with me."
"All Might was really happy..." Yuki smiled on ahead, rubbing the back of Izuku's palm in circles with her thumb. "Losing his mentor must've felt like losing a parent."
"Yeah..." Izuku couldn't compare to either of them, both Yuki and All Might had lost a lot in their lives, but Izuku? He had yet to feel that true loss of a loved one, though he wasn't eager to find out. "...She looked so relieved to have said those words to me, as if she's been waiting to scream them for years."
A pair of warm lips snuck up and caught his, releasing a shock to his system as Yuki swiveled back to his side. "Don't think too hard on it, what matters is that you did, Shimura and All Might are grateful," Yuki assured him, nuzzling his cheek. "I am too, I've never seen All Might look that way before."
"I'm glad too," He smiled back.
As the last rays of sunlight dipped beneath the sky, Izuku gave it some thought, just an idea out of the blue that brought a smile to his face. "What do you think we should do for another date? Maybe later down the line?"
"Huh? Where'd this come from?" Yuki wasn't opposed, it just caught her off guard.
"We haven't gone anywhere, not with Work-Studies, Finals, and just the overall busyness of school," He blushed lightly, looking away. "I-if you want, I-I just thought it would be nice, j-just us..."
Yuki leaned over to rest her head on his shoulder, the idea made her heart skip just thinking about it. "We'll give it some thought, no rush."
"Great!" He blurted out, reddening further at her giggle before Yuki stopped. "Huh?" Izuku was quickly pulled by the hand by Yuki, scooting behind the bushes just outside their dorm. "Yuki?" She quickly hushed him with a finger as he smiled at how funny it was to see her acting sneaky.
The two peeked around the corner to a familiar sight.
"Yah!" Nana in a black tank top and white shorts dove backward in fright as she spread her legs, avoiding the silver object embedding in the mud between them. It was an ornate silver trident, the blade prongs coiled with a light blue ribbon tied beneath the head. "A-are you sure you're holding back?" She was sweating, both from the near-death experience and fatigue.
The trident was pulled from the earth with a heavy exhale. Kairi stared at Nana with a firm glare that looked very similar to Katsuki's. Her hair was pulled back into a messy ponytail, her own shirt clung to her body and her shorts were dirty like the rest of her exposed skin and tail. "No, that's the point, you think you can just hope they'll go easy on us during exams?"
"Uh... is it legal for them to kill kids?" Nana raised a finger as Kairi snorted sharply. Why did the idiot have to have a good point? Lowering her weapon, she offered Nana a hand.
"I hate it when you actually say something smart," Nana smiled at that, accepting the hand... only to pull Kairi down into the dirt with a cute yelp of surprise as the shark girl landed atop the songstress. "Nana!" She growled, pushing up to find herself practically pinning Nana to the ground as the bluette giggled mischievously. "I'm being serious, you know?"
"I know, but you gotta lighten up too," Nana spoke a little more calmly at the nervous look on her girlfriend's face. "I get it, expectations are annoying, but it's just a little longer, then it'll be over," Her eyes gave off that soft, considerate glow that Kairi couldn't look away from. "Then it's just us, and my sister's class too when they're not busy, and a bunch of new friends too."
"...you make it sound so simple..." Kairi sighed, wishing it were, wishing her life didn't have to be such a headache. A cool hand pressed to her cheek, Nana smiling confidently.
"Hey, we're in this together, right?" Hearing this made Kairi giggle, blushing lightly.
"Okay... we're in this together,"
Yuki felt this was appropriate to step into view. "Hello~"
The two young girls froze up from their moment, glancing over sharply to Yuki with Izuku smiling kindly behind her with his eyes closed, he really felt dirty spying on them but Yuki rubbed off on him a lot. Then the pair looked at one another, the rather compromising position causing their faces to glow a vibrant red as Kairi threw herself back and Nana tried to hide her face with her tail.
"I-I-I'M SO SORRY!" Kairi's voice went a few octaves higher, to think she was so reckless to be in such a position. And worst of all, it was her own girlfriend's sister that caught them.
"What?" Yuki shrugged, taking Izuku's hand as she leaned over to peck his cheek, seeing him buzz like always from the contact. "Nothing wrong with an open relationship, trust me, better that than have Mina hound you - not like she's one to talk, skirting around her own love life."
"Wait, what?" Izuku did a double-take as Yuki dragged him away with an apologetic wave. "S-sorry for spying, g-good luck training!"
The two girls sat there, Kairi was trying to cover her cheeks, and Nana was looking at the ground, avoiding eye contact with a whine, even her ears felt hot. It wasn't like she was embarrassed about being around Kairi, just that... well, she didn't know what to do. Last thing she remembered was just mulling over homework and being brought shopping with her parents. The next, she's trying to play catch-up in life while maintaining a love life.
"Hey," Kairi was the first to speak again, the cool night air relieving some of the heat from her face but not entirely. "Come on, look at me." She softly cupped Nana's cheek as her devil-like tail hid her eyes but Kairi peeled it back until she met the girl's timid stare at the ground. "...still shy?"
Nana nodded slowly so Kairi sighed, cupping Nana's other cheek, bringing her head closer to place a kiss atop her forehead. She wasn't certain if she could muster the courage to try for a more intimate kiss yet, not until Nana wasn't blushing up a storm at the grass. But that peck made her body tremble all the way to her tail, lifting her eyes to the shark girl's magnificent deep-sea eyes.
"You know it's okay to feel... weird, I do a lot, if that wasn't obvious," Kairi let out a breathy laugh.
"...are you embarrassed?" Nana whispered worryingly. "...about me?" That idea was shot down immediately when she met that fierce, predator glare.
"Don't ever say that," Nana could only nod quickly, blinking widely as she was pulled against the silverette's chest, hearing how quickly her heart was beating. "You're a pain, and honestly, you can frustrate the hell out of me," She felt Kairi's arms tighten. "But I couldn't picture you any other way."
She enjoyed hearing Nana's small laugh, seeing her black tail curl around her wrists protectively. It was always the little things she enjoyed. "...you're pretty stubborn too, and overthink things more than Izuku Sir," Nana admitted, hugging Kairi back just as affectionately. "But I like picturing that too."
After spending enough time in the dirt, the two picked themselves up. Kairi spun her weapon around with a confident smirk. Nana cracked her knuckles still wrapped in boxing tape that Kirishima had given her. Both could go for one more spar, every minute counts.
"I'm still winning."
"You have a trident, how is that fair?"
"You weren't complaining when I let you use it."
"I... ugh, round begin!"
To Be Continued...
Developments are in flow as Katsuki comes around and admits to his reasons for aiding Izuku as he develops his control for Float. I really like showing the visual of the other OFA quirks activating with the shimmer to Izuku's eyes. Also, couldn't resist adding some Nana/Kairi fluff at the end there.
The next chapter's dedicated to them after all, surprise. I'm not kidding about this arc being very short, like, the War Arc is nearing - I can't wait to torment you all with the power of emotions! Huh, that's probably my quirk, emotional trauma... ahem! I hope you enjoyed, I appreciate the support as always; seeya in the next chapter, heroes!
Next Chapter Intermission: Re: Perfecting Performance
Nana poked her head around the area, sitting down on the sofa, the background that of the dorm common area. "Huh, so this is the new preview section? Neat."
"Nana, we're here to give... um... what exactly?" Kairi walked in to sit next to the musician who shrugged.
"Not a clue!" Nana beamed cluelessly.
"Figures." Kairi facepalmed.
Nana took that time to clap her hands. "Oh, oh! Tell them about our Entrance Exam! Things got pretty crazy!"
Kairi grimaced. "If you count building-sized robots as 'crazy' then yet, very."
"Including that other examinee! His quirk is so coo-" Her mouth was plugged by Kairi's tail.
She sighed. "...before she spoils it, up next; Re: Perfecting Performance. How's the motto go?"
Removing her tail, Nana gasped. "Ah... hah... Go Beyond, Pluuuus Ultra!"
