"Adrien you have been here a couple of hours now don't you want to go to the cafeteria to eat something or drink something?" Sabine asked Adrien as she stood by the door.

"Thanks for the offer Sabine but I'm not hungry or thirsty... Though can you do me a favor? I promised her that she would see Marinette once I was finished talking to her for the most part and I think it's time so can you bring her here?"

Sabine nodded. "Sure I'll be right back." Sabine left closing the door behind her.

In a few minutes the door opened and small steps were heard running over to Adrien. "Daddy!"

Adrien smiled. "Hay princess ready to meet your mommy?"

"Yes I even got this for her." Emma said showing Adrien the flower that she was holding.

"I'm sure she'll love it. Now keep in mind that she's still asleep." Adrien replied putting Emma on his lap.

Emma nodded and looked at Marinette. "HI mommy it's me Emma! You probably don't remember me since I was a baby when you went to sleep and now I'm 5! Daddy and grandma and grandpa talk about you all the time and I know that if you were awake now you would be the best mommy in the world! Just like how daddy is the best daddy in the world. Please wake up soon mommy I can't wait to play with you to go on trips with you and daddy and for you two to walk me to kindergarten."

Adrien smiled. "Now go back with grandma Sabine I'll talk to mommy some more then I'll go to you okay?"

"Okay." Emma put the flower next to Marinette on the bed before she got off from Adrien's lap and she walked back to Sabine who was standing by the door the whole time and Sabine closed the door behind them.

Adrien looked at Marinette with a sad smile. "I know that it seems Emma and I have a close relationship and we do but... It wasn't always like that... I hate to admit it but for most of the last 5 years I basically became my father."

I was only living because Emma was the only thing holding me together. She was the only thing left I had of you. Though even though I still took care of her and even played with her a few times I was still distant from her. I would get up make her food take her to your parents go to work for the whole day pick her up after work we would eat dinner then we would go to sleep.

I wanted to forget about everything so I let work take over my life but even work wasn't fun anymore since Luka stopped working there after he got his teaching certification and he became a music teacher. I was basically alone since I stopped talking to all of our friends ever since you left.

I was even more alone after I left Emma to live with your parents once she started school because I knew your parents would do a better job on helping her with school because I didn't have the head or heart to do so. The only thing that mattered to me was that she was alive that's it.

I hated the city but even if I moved I wouldn't have anywhere to go or anyone to go to. I tried to shut everything out to live without thinking about anything. I wanted to forget what happened... Everything I did was wrong... Everything I did was a mistake to me... The fact that I met you... The fact that we fell in love... That we got married... The fact that we had a baby... It was all one big mistake that I couldn't take back.

One morning someone knocked on the door and I went to open the door to find your mom standing there. "HI Adrien."

"Sabine?" I quickly looked around her to see if Emma was with her since she would sometimes bring Emma to visit me but she wasn't there.

"I'm sorry if I came during a bad time but I came to invite you to a picnic this Saturday." Sabine stated with a smile.

I sigh. "I don't know I have work that day and if I go than it would mean that I would have to see..."

"Adrien it's about time that you go see her instead of me having to bring her here so she can see you." Sabine stated. "I know you think you're doing the best for her but distanting yourself from her isn't the solution. Oh and I'm not leaving until you say yes."

I chuckled. "Alright I'll go my boss does say I need to take more time off and... I do want to see her again."

To be honest I wasn't so sure about wanting to go but I couldn't reject the offer after everything your parents have done for me plus I really did want to see Emma again... My little girl... Our little girl.

On Saturday I went to the bakery but it was close probably because we were going to have a picnic so I went to the living room and I found your parents setting up a picnic while Emma was drawing sitting on the ground.

When Emma saw me she ran to me. "Daddy!"

I picked her up in my arms. "HI princess. Is everything ready to go?"

"It is but we can't decide on where to go." Tom stated.

"Well I have an idea of where to go but it's a bit far from here." I replied.

"That should be fine." Sabine stated.

"Can we take Plagg?" Emma asked excitedly. When Emma moved in with your parents she took Plagg with her since she loved him.

I nodded. "Of course we can."

"YAY!" Emma exclaimed.

I decided to take them to a field that was outside of Paris and to get there we had to take the train. I haven't been to that certain field since I was a little boy I went with my parents.

Emma sat next to me as your parents were a few seats in front of us. Emma isn't a girl that can stay still for long so I read books to her and played with her. I haven't had time with her in so long that I haven't realized how much I missed it.

"Daddy can you talk to me about mommy?" Emma suddenly asked me and I was taken back with that question.

I looked away. "Why don't you ask grandpa Tom or grandma Sabine to talk to you about her?"

"I did and they told me to ask you." Emma stated.

"I see they want me to tell you... Ask them again about it later and tell them that I didn't want to tell you." I replied and Emma slowly nodded.

We soon arrived and I put Emma on my shoulders so she could see the whole flower field with a better view. "What do you think?"

"It's awesome!" Emma exclaimed excitedly.

We set up the picnic and ate the food your parents prepared and as always the food was great especially the treats they made. Once we were done Emma went to play in the flower field.

"It was nice of you to bring us here Adrien." Sabine stated. "Though what made you decide to bring us here?"

"Well honestly for a while I wanted to leave Paris even for just a day." I replied. "So when you guys invited me to a picnic I thought why not here."

"I think that it's a good idea for you to clear your mind." Tom stated.

Soon I stood up. "I'll be right back I'm going to take a small walk." They nodded before I started to walk off.

Everywhere I went I saw flashbacks of when I went there as a little boy. I soon stopped on a small bridge and a woman was standing there as she was looking at the lake. The woman turned to face me and she had blonde hair and blue eyes. "Are you Adrien Agreste?"

"Yes but um have we met before?" I asked her confused.

"Yes Adrien I'm Lilly Agreste your grandmother. Gabriel Agreste is my son." The woman replied and I looked at her surprised.

"I'm sorry but I don't remember you at all." I stated.

"I didn't blame you the last time I saw you was when you were a little boy." She replied "I haven't talked your dad in a while is he still a fashion designer?"

"Yes and his business is doing as well as ever." I stated.

She nodded. "I remember how happy he used to be back than. After all he was taking care of the woman he loved. Emilie was such a lovely woman and it wasn't long after they got married that she was pregnant with you. You were their blessing but unfortunately all good things need to come to an end I sopposed. It broke Gabriel's heart when your mom passed away in that car accident. At first I thought he would never recover from his depression but he had to stay strong so he could take care of you. He might've distant himself from everyone even from you and let his work swollow his life. He couldn't give up on his life because of you. He was determined to raise you on his own. He felt like work would distract him from his sadness but instead he just distant himself from everyone. He wanted you to be happy. He thought by giving you everything you could want you would be happy but he couldn't give you want you needed the most. His support understanding and love shown. I'm sure that he was strict maybe even harsh at times but I know that he just wanted to raise you well even if you were too young to understand that. It was hard for him and no one is perfect. Keep in mind that he still wanted to live his life with you no matter how hard it was for him. You grew up to be a fine young man but at that point he lost the only thing he had left... Your love."

I looked down. "I suffered though something similar that my dad did back than. We had our hard times but we also had good times too it was easy to forget those times though. As much as it was difficult I don't think he was a failure as a father. Even though I became the same way he became after my mom died It wasn't as bad as him since I was still present for the important events of my daughter like her first day of kindergarten. Plus unlike him... I still have a small chance of hope. My wife is in a coma not dead but I understand him now."

"As a man I believe my son had his fair share of short comings but as a father I think he did a great job." She replied with a smile.

I nodded. "I think so too and I don't have anything else to ask for."

She smiled and touched my cheek. "Adrien your father has worked too hard and stayed isolated for too long. Tell him to come visit me he needs a break and he doesn't need to be isolated anymore."

I nodded. "I will." After talking to my grandmother I finally knew what I had to do. I went back to the group and straight to Emma. "Emma."

Emma stood up. "Yes daddy?"

I bent down to face her. "Did you enjoy the trip? Even though you were with a guy like me?"

Emma nodded with a huge smile. "Yes."

"Emma is it okay if I stay with you?" I asked looking down. "I know that I have been a bad daddy for a long time but from now on I want to work hard to take care of you Emma." I looked back up with a smile. "So even if it's tough is it okay if I stay with you?"

Emma hugged me. "I want you to stay daddy."

I hugged back. "Thank you."

As we were on the train heading home I looked at Emma. "Emma do you still want me to tell you about mommy?" She nodded. "Okay let's see... When I met your mommy she was nervous to go in the high school since it was her first day there but I helped her find the courage to walk in... Oh and she wanted to start a fashion designer club -" I continued telling her about you.

At that moment I realized something. Marinette I found it I finally found it. Something only I could protect. A precious treasure that only I could protect. It was right here in front of me all along.
