A FIRST IN THE LOOP OF THE INFINITE

"In my universe, there is only us. In this chaotic premise given to me, I can only focus on our story. I choose to make it simple when it's just you and me. Everything just makes sense. Nothing else matters, because I am safe with you, and I have everything I need."

June 2014 (24 years old)

4PM,

Tokyo Jujutsu Institute Infirmary

Her stomach grumbled like a beast had just awaken from hibernation. Hunger soared through her as soon as she discarded her gloves and surgical mask in the yellow bin. She felt the tingling in her fingers and the lightheadedness right after she removed her surgical cap, her hypoglycemia from her night duty that extended until that afternoon was already becoming apparent. She didn't know how she managed to survive almost twelve hours of nothing per orem status with legs aching and eyes so dried up from the numerous procedures and patients they had to attend to.

The realm's very few active sorcerers were kept so busy lately. Underground activities of curse users were at its peak and from the registry of the energy, she knew well which group was orchestrating the whole thing.

Still, after the Nth day of cleaning up bodies and stitching up wounds, she just wanted to crash inside her call room and do nothing but lie down and breathe and hope that someone would feed her.

Food. Water.

She almost stumbled upon opening the door inside her quarters but out of fear that she wouldn't have enough energy to answer another call, she settled for the reclining chair. She removed her ponytail and allowed her brown hair to fall flat on her back, massaging her neck and scalp in the process with her hands that reeked of disinfectant. She winced at the realization that she had chipped off some skin under her nails, the dryness as evidence from donning and doffing gloves. She sighed and rested her back on the chair, kicking off her heels in the process and finally lifted them on the table to stretch.

She heard her bones crack as she recoiled, "Shit, everything hurts…" she felt the buzz on her pocket, the one that kept on going for at least 30 minutes before she even had time to check. She grabbed the hem of her white coat that hung on her chair and lazily dug on her pocket to lift. She rubbed her eyes to clear her vision, doubling on the screen before she saw the notifications come from a certain white-haired bastard.

12 missed calls and 24 unanswered texts.

She groaned as she typed in her location and dropped her phone on her desk but before she could finish rubbing her feet, she realized something else. Under her buried texts was the one that she had answered a few nights before. Her best friend asked to meet for a girl's dinner at her place for some odd reason with quote, very important business meeting. She realized that whenever she would ask for time like that, something must've happened between those two to warrant an emergency.

A knock no, a bustling came from outside the call room and Gojo swung the door open, "I-EI-RI!" he sung, making her eyes roll back at her sockets, annoyance gripping at her throat.

He was still in his dark purple jacket he mismatched with his ridiculous shades and that toothy grin of his postured in his half-body peeking inside was something she didn't care to glare at for too long.

"What?" she vocalized.

Gojo pouted, "Tch, I'm just here to see my friend! Also-" he took quick glance behind him before he lifted his hand to showcase the wine bottle in front of his friend, "I've come bearing a gift!"

She crossed her arms, half enthused at one Gojo Satoru, bad drunk and alcohol hater making a scene at the hospital with some expensive booze, "Alright, you've got my attention,"

He jerked his head sidewards and smirked, "Let's go open this yeah?"

She closed her eyes and ran her fingers in her hair, "This is a damn hospital dumbass,"

"Not here, obviously, come with me!"

She felt her mouth water at the thought of having the expensive drink swirl inside her mouth that she felt so parched. The urge to smoke also pulsed through her but she had to choose which vice would give her reflux that afternoon, at least with wine in play, she had a better shot at getting some food to down it.

Gojo cocked a brow, "So, you comin'?" he tapped his foot impatiently as Shouko lifted herself off the chair and stretched.

"I'm coming asshole!"

Satoru had brought her into one of those small speakeasy pubs which doubled as hosting private events. One of the owners was conveniently a window so it wasn't hard for him to rent out the place for a few hours.

Shouko couldn't help but feel a little iffy about the set-up. One, he only requested for one waiter and one chef to be on duty but also gave instructions to not be disturbed until they were called. Honestly, it felt like one of those meetings where they had to stray away from the eyes and ears of the Institute, but it felt like something more important than some mission.

Satoru had poured the drink for her with unstable hands. No matter how hard he tried to make himself look calm, it was evident in the sweat of his brows and shaking of his leg that he was really bothered by something.

She rested her elbows on the table and gripped her wine glass lightly into a swirl and finally spoke, "You do know this is highly inappropriate right? You're dating my bestfriend, Sachi is-"

The mention of her name made him jerk nervously and one look at a disgruntled and flushed out Satoru, she came to a clear conclusion on what was egging him. Nothing else could ever bring down his defenses as much as her.

The redness on his face was beginning to grow and he couldn't maintain eye contact with her for more than a few seconds. It looked like, she had to get on with her probing or else he'd be stuck in limbo forever.

Shouko giggled before speaking making Satoru weave his brows together in question.

"So," she set down her glass and grinned at him sinisterly, her once tired hazel eyes now sparkled with so much curiosity that she moved closer to inquire, "Did you bang yet? How was it? Were you gentle?"

Her words flowed through her like a machine gun. Each syllable pounding unto Gojo's chest like he was being hit by bricks making him fidget and leave his mouth agape and eyes freakishly widened at her assumption.

He blinked three times in an attempt to dispel a bit of his embarrassment but the fluttering inside of his stomach wouldn't go away, "What the fuck Shouko?

She shrugged, "Yeah, what the fuck exactly? I mean," she grated on him smugly, "Listen brother, if you're gonna bring booze in my office and send me a text that says SOS, I assume it's something as big as that," she grabbed a handful of truffle fries (a weird ass pairing for her pinot but she was too hungry to care) and snarled as she chewed, "If you're gonna bore me with another topic, leave,"

Satoru he clicked his tongue and slammed his hands on the table making the bottle wobble before settling in place, he covered his rouged up cheeks with his hand and gritted his teeth and went to speak in a whisper, "Could you act normal for once?" he tugged on his hair in frustration, "I'm trying to have a very serious and decent conversation here!" he yelled, spirting some stray saliva beside her glass.

"Ugh," she wiped her glass and took another sip, "Answer my question first dumbass…is it even remotely related to what I said or not?"

Satoru's pulse quickened and he felt his fingers dig through his pants as to keep calm. He doubled back on her questioning, his ears turned pink, and he felt his lung constrict as he tried his best to concentrate on their conversation. He reached out to his own glass and clutched it tightly and took a deep breath, "The-the answers are, no, we didn't-makeloveyet-but yes my damn topic is extremely related!" he huffed now and contemplated on downing the maroon contents inside the chilled glass but instead lifted his stare away from his friend.

Shouko felt a wave of pleasure and a bit of playfulness stir inside of her. It matched her menacing lip twitch that clearly made the Six eyes user fawn away from where they sat.

She flicked his forehead and laughed into the drink, "Well, shit! Let's get talking then, idiot virgin!"

Satoru let out a puff of air, cheeks still rouged yet he remained too sweaty for comfort. He just wanted some answers and to jet out of there to save himself from further humiliation. He had similar encounters with his elders, his father and hell, even Yaga, but this matter, he only had Shouko to confide in and he begged that this one time, she'd let him off easy, "Just-tell me what you know and how I should approach it!"

"Approach what?" she teased owlishly.

Satoru grabbed the bottle before she could and groaned, "DO I HAVE TO SPELL IT OUT? GEEZ!"

There was something wickedly satisfying about seeing Gojo so unsure about himself. He was always good at everything. So confident and crass and yet who knew a five-foot five woman could make him so uncoiled, "Didn't you have the talk with-"

Satoru was quick to interject, "I'm not stupid! I've spoken to enough people regarding that what I'm here for is-"

Shouko laughed again, "Her, yeah, I know,"

"Then why do you gotta make me feel so-argh!"

She shrugged, "It's fun!" she grabbed the bottle from him and took his glass to fill it close to the rim before pushing it forward to his direction, "Here, for your nerves," he reluctantly leveled it towards his mouth and took a sip, making Shouko double back in amusement. She continued, "Listen, important thing is, she knows you know and wow, I gotta hand it to you almost ten years of not putting out well," she doubled back and clapped his back twice forcing him to spill the contents of his drink on his shoes, "I did NOT expect that from YOU of all people," her laugh was borderline maniacal that this did nothing to appease her friend.

She rested her elbow on his shoulder and winked, "She told me about your uh," she let out her tongue and made smooching sounds, activating his sympathetic nervous system, drenching his whole form in sweat. She pointed to his chest now and pushed his back as she laughed, "And the, upper boob kissing," she laughed louder.

Satoru angrily placed the glass on the table and flared his nose, "Why does everything that come out of your mouth sound so dirty? We were in the high!"

They both recalled how bold he acted during the high on the night of their binding. His moves then were uncalculated. His instincts were flared with passion and desire that made both him and Sachiko flush and moan and he couldn't figure out what possessed him to get back to his senses and pause. He couldn't count the times he had apologized for his actions, but Sachiko pointed out that she too was to blame for their sudden weakness.

Still, this did little to lessen the hype inside of Shouko's head, "Yeah, yeah. And Sachi was wet because of the rain," she rolled her eyes.

"I'm sorry what?" his voice rose.

She merely sighed, "Anyway, listen, you're already off to a brilliant start. She knows how patient you've been and how you've been careful with her, but did it ever dawn on you how she's been feeling the same way? She, I can't believe I'm saying this, loves you, you know?"

Satoru dropped his weight on the chair and ran his hands through his pale hair. It was important to him that he would get a clear understanding of their situation. Unlike other girls, cliché as it might seem, she was different. Sure, he'd only ever been with one person and yet she was the most important woman in his life. So, he would be damned if he did anything wrong to instigate something just because his desires were overpowering.

He knew how much she loved him. She expressed it openly and frequently and he felt very insecure that he couldn't be natural and brave about it like her. He loves her so much and it was consuming and her hold on him was sometimes crippling because she was the only non-negotiable thing in his life. He wanted to express how much he cared about her in very different ways and becoming intimate would be one of them. They were already considering eloping and living in one place. He had to be realistic and ready to face whatever steps they would take as their relationship deepened. Talking to their most trusted friend was warranted. Even if every minute of it felt like torture under the spotlight, "I-I do…"

"I know you're a wimp and probably won't be able to say it so plainly even though you're goo-goo eyes over her. Every single one of us knows! But, perhaps, even without asking, it's time for you to really take initiative,"

His crystalline eyes met with her hazel now, "But won't that-"

Shouko groaned as she lifted her finger to drive a point, "Here are some facts. Both of you are special grades. The most important and busiest people inside the realm after me of course and well, both of you conquered death and even change your fates," a bit of irritation came through with her tone. She couldn't believe that she had to lay out very obvious facts, but this was a guy who literally had no time to spare but still took it upon himself to be patient with his situation at hand. In a way, she felt a little pitiful towards him and a little disgruntled at how he was being like a childish boy about to confess to his crush, but even with those in mind, teasing him was still part of her agenda, "You continue to fight death daily, you shouldn't waste too much time now that you have it. Just-be delicate about it okay?"

He straightened his seating and said in earnest, "I will. I swear to god I will. I just-" his shoulders dropped, "I'm fucking nervous,"

Shouku gently placed one hand on his shoulder making him lift his chin. She smiled, "I know you both want it to be perfect but I'm telling you right now," she punched the side of his arm making him wince, "Throw that idealism away and just be yourselves, your two idiot virgin selves!"

Satoru retaliated, "It's a big freaking deal especially for women, how could you of all people-"

Shouko couldn't help but snort at him, "Well, mine was indeed special but the way you two think? It's best if you just-let it course the way it should be. You're both crazy about each other, the rest will follow just-don't get too excited. Guys get too pumped right away so-"

In panic, Satoru blurted out, "I'll be gentle and wait for her to adjust!" he heard his own words echo through his ears. Shouko's eyes dilated at him, and she was left stunned by the image of him fuming and beet red.

Shouko's eyes twitched, "G-good! Damn, you two waited a while huh? Maybe this will be your year, maybe the next who knows!" her laughter made him turn away in contempt, but she forced him to face her, "Anyway once you two," she air quoted, "Make love or whatever, just stay in the moment, enjoy it, share how happy you are with her and don't look back,"

He still couldn't control his palpitations despite finishing two whole glasses of the wine. The numbness he had hoped for was nowhere to be found so he just slumped back and readied for his leave, "Okay, we're done," he nudged her shoulder but didn't make eye contact, "Thanks, I guess…"

She gave him a thumbs up as she pinched her cheeks together to keep from laughing, "Sure, dumb virgin," she leaned in to whisper once again, "Tell me this though, you two have done stuff, right?"

He trembled and folded his mouth inwardly. Refusing to answer her question despite the answer surfacing clearly in his scarlet cheeks.

Shouko tilted her head sidewards and grinned, "I'll take that as a yes. Good for you,"

Satoru rested his arm on the table and reflected, "Shouko, how do I know if the time is right?"

The fuck, is he the girl in the relationship?

She patted him on his head and held out another chuckle, "You just will. Don't stress about it too much! You're two consenting adults who very much toothrottingly in love, live a little!"

Satoru jumped up off his seat, "That's my cue to leave,"

Too mortified to face her, he made his way out.

Shouko called out to him, "And Satoru?"

"Hm?"

She sounded serious now, "Take care of her? Okay?" she spoke to him not just as a friend but as Sachiko's sister now. Trusting men or people in general was something Sachiko had worked hard to achieve, and she wasn't blind. She saw how much she had evolved from a closed person into a someone very devoted to her partner. She loved him so much and would do anything for him. Shouko trusted him enough to be the same with her.

Her statement willed him to turn and smile, "Who do you think I am?" he looked very sincere. That type of smile reserved only for her and that type of resolve only love could explain.

I know dumbass. I just wanted to remind you.

Shouko rolled her eyes at him and smirked, "Sex-deprived dumbass with freakishly blue eyes?"

Flipping her off came naturaly as he made his way to the door and Shouko took that as a good sign that he'd finally calmed down over the situation. Intimacy was inevitable but the extend he wanted to progress to with Sachiko needed careful consideration in lieu of her trauma but she knew them both. She was confident that no one else could be fit for them to share that stage in their lives.

Shouko's laughter followed him out of the door, "I'm not the one whom you should send that message to," she yelled.

He grimaced, "You're an ass sometimes Ieiri,"

She took another gulp before she raised her glass towards him, "Amen brother, hope you get some too!"

2015 January

Members of their creed had been experiencing difficulty controlling some of their members from seeking help from a cult group. Their success rate was reaching a legendary status. Having all of their desires come true (crime-related included) in exchange for money seemed like an easy win. But that kind of sponsorship was against their laws.

One of their members personally went to the Miura clan head and confessed to his crimes, having cited revenge on a gamble he lost, he was cursed and ended up wagering his Inari. To cover up for his crimes he had gone to look for assistance from a young monk, the former members of the star alliance group called Buddha.

He was one of their wealthiest affiliates that had been forced into exile and stripped of his Inari. It was odd. When he was being interrogated, no residuals were found on the traitor himself and yet his Inari seemed to have recognized the scent from where they had the meeting.

As the future head of the clan, she was tasked to spearhead investigations that led her to several scryed places in Tokyo and Kyoto. The strongest registry as dictated by the Inari led her back to the busy streets of railway between Shinjuku and Shibuya.

It was odd. It seemed like the Six-tailed Kitsune was expected in their area. The crossing was quiet. Around her were merely shadows of people passing each other by. The sound of horns and establishments seemed too muffled to be true. She followed the trail of the Inari and ended up stopping in the middle of the crossing. She felt like her weight doubled where her feet landed. The white lines painted on the street seemed to disintegrate into specs of dust, one blink after, the rest of the scenery stood still. The lights blurred into bokeh and streams of flashing rainbows and the people around her turned grey, one by one.

And then, she was pulled through the dusty pavement and into another dimension, a mirror like plane where she was shoved into a crowd of jeering fanatics. Her presence didn't seem to disturb them at first, but her cursed energy was too strong to neglect forcing her to swim through the mortals to hide. She used her heightened senses to listen through the uproar and was able to pick-up an announcement of a human sacrifice in the guise of an exorcism at their base.

Around her were distorted images of random places she felt like she's visited at least once. It was hard to decipher if the portals were interconnected and intricately weaved making the trace of their base almost impossible to locate but she was already trapped inside. What better way to investigate that to do it from the inside?

It was a huge gamble. A single mistake could blow her cover and her foreign registry would alert curse users in the area in an instant and if they didn't get there in time, she'd be forced out of their barrier immediately. She had to be stealthy.

She moved a few paces away from the back row and settled to listen in from a distance. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes, her pulse quickened the louder the crowds cheered. She already felt three different sets of cursed energy drew near and they felt cold and hostile that it made her realize her welcome would soon disperse.

She contemplated on borrowing a technique from her Satoru but activating that kind of energy would just create agitation and blow her whole operation, so she waited instead. The supposed monk was already said to initiate his ceremony. Sachiko took a deep breath and concentrated on the words that were being broadcast. It didn't seem like the monk was saying anything. It was his minions who were at play. There were harsh cries that came after and the Inari beside her was losing its cool. It felt the drain of the curse from the stage, and it was growing impatient to leave things as it is. Another gruesome sound, this time similar to ripped flesh. The announcer stated that the monk was taking his leave and that was her cue to move but before she could sneak in the Inari had started running.

She ended up running towards the stage in front of her Inari but was halted when the monk, who had his back on them raised his hand and summoned a Nogitsune to destroy the white fox shikigami. Sachiko summoned her flames to target the monk, but his henchmen were already blocking his image before she could take a good look. People were scrambling around them which made it easier for their boss to slip out.

It was hard to concentrate on him when she had civilians to protect. Just as one of his henchmen attempted to attack Sachiko, it bewildered her that a large, black-haired beast came to her aide. Sachiko landed on her feet and eyed the Nogitsune with her scarlet crescents. Her arms were filled with her cursed energy now, bracing for any retaliation from the beast which did not come. It began to whimper as it approached, its beady eyes staring at her in yearning. It knew who she was and despite its allegiance, he didn't allow his allies to scathe her one bit.

Chiharu! Enough!

A distorted voice of the man made her ears ring. It sounded so familiar even in its commanding tone that she wanted to follow the curse to its master. Her Inari companion felt otherwise and instead directed her to the bodies on stage. She took one step forward in protest to her Inari but with that one move, the whole scenery went back to the sullen ground of the Shibuya station.

There wasn't much left to investigate save for the remnants splattered in blood. They were baited. It was a ruse of a ceremony that led to their retreat and Sachiko knew, something sinister yet familiar was afoot.

Why did that Nogitsune protect me?

The man they called Buddha contemplated on his next move. His Nogitsune clung unto him like he had been struck by an obelisk. His master felt the same, the distance though short was incapacitating him. Watching his beloved etch a fierce and despondent look at his handiwork made his heart stir. He didn't feel guilt from the ceremony, the remorse came from having to involve her again in his exploits.

It was inevitable yet something I wished she didn't have to endure.

Fushimi Inari Taisha

"There was nothing left? The Inari is badly shaken…" Hideo couldn't keep still in his seat. The presence of the Nogitsune confirmed the connection of the defectors. Those miniscule traces were from elemental shrine maidens and caretakers lured in by the cult and the web was highly similar to when Nogitsune's were first traced. Kodansha would take the news the worse. Her son had been exiled due to his instigation in such matters but despite knowing that it was soon to make conclusions, there was someone else they needed to investigate.

"That's all I know for now but, their cult leader, his registry was familiar, and I think-I know who he is…" she looked so heartbroken.

He took a breath, "Did you see his face?"

She shook her head.

"Then, we cannot say for sure," he needed to spare her of any more concerns until he had all the available information to create a proper conclusion. The higher-ups were pressuring her enough and he needed to take clan matters in his own hands. This wasn't hers to bear, after all, something personal would soon warrant her attention.

"Thank you, my child," he placed one hand on his granddaughter's shoulder and gave it a light squeeze, "I will take it from here,"

"But, the Nogitsune?"

He nodded, "I will deal with that matter. For now," he took his seat and rested both hands on his desk, "You are needed in Tokyo. Masamichi requests for you,"

It wasn't like her to accept his offer easily. Eventually, she will lead their clan and hated the fact that she'd have to burden him for a little while longer but her head wasn't in the right place. If she was right about the cult leader then, bringing that kind of news to Satoru and Ieiri would devastate them all.

She proceeded to travel back to Tokyo, forgetting to inform her beau of her whereabouts and instead headed to Yaga's office. He was as usual found sewing on parts to some dolls, weaving his own string of cursed energy, immediately animating the unique creatures around his room.

He gestured for her to sit, her face wiped off color and transcendent of concern that he took a minute to give her some time to rest.

Masamichi Yaga set his latest creation down and stood to get a bottle of water. He handed it to his former student who nodded in thanks as he settled to perch on his table, "Sachiko,"

"Yes sir?"

He removed his glasses and cleared it with his kerchief, his expression less concerning than when she first entered the room, "Work with the institute,"

She laughed, "Did my face tell of my fatigue from politics?"

He rubbed his chin, "That, and a very annoying young man who forged your application and revealed explicitly that you also took and passed the qualifying exam,"

"He what?" she said confused.

"Well," he let out a low chuckle, "You have been helping him study anyway so, might as well,"

"The higher-ups have already given me assignments and I-"

"You've been doing some recruitments from what I heard,"

That encounter with the teenagers and Suguru in his glamour didn't go as planned though.

Yaga continued, "You're doing well with helping the young ones train, so it's only right that we make you into proper faculty," he extended his hands now making her smirk.

"I guess, this offer is only good now, sir?"

He laughed, "Let's shake on it and then discuss your flexible schedule,"

Sachiko quickly took his hand and stood now. The new type of responsibility being handed to her was a bit of a leeway for her. A position in the school would merit less days abroad and that was something she would have to owe to her favorite teacher.

"Now, off you go then. As a new teacher at our school, your first task is to get a vacation,"

Her eyes widened in surprise, "But-"

"Honestly, your boyfriend is getting on my nerves, so a few days with you keeping him away from the institute will extend my life," he massaged his temple, a small grin appeared on his face.

She bowed, "Thank you, Uncle Michi,"

"I haven't heard that in a while," he snickered, "Now, go and get some rest Sachiko, you deserve it," he paused for a minute and recalled the message he had gotten from Hideo, "Don't worry about the matters of the cult, we've got it from here,"

She had slept in until noon the following day. Too tired from travels and back-to-back missions that she had forgotten to return calls and messages even from her own best friend.

Sachiko was greeted by a glass of water, a croissant and a little note that was supposedly intended for her to find just around breakfast. She lifted the sheets and let her legs dangle, eyes still half-lidded as she read the note,

Chi, I got home late last night but I didn't want to wake you and your cute snoring. I have to leave early but I made reservations at Sushinori at 8. See you then, okay?

Also, a croissant, the plain ones that taste like nothing, but you like, why?

Take care, okay?

He drew a cartoon version of himself with his lips puckered as he usually did when he left messages. That silly doodle had enough power to lift herself up the bed and begin her day.

She threw her institute uniform on the washing machine and quickly settled to take a shower instead of the tub. Too excited to meet up with Satoru, she finished freshening up quickly to have more time to choose her clothes. They haven't had a proper date in a long while and something normal and refreshing would do them both some good.

Of course, halfway through their meal and they couldn't escape the topic altogether.

Satoru had ordered another set of the special sushi boat for their table. Some of the waiters had exchange a few curious looks at how, those two very fit and very weird looking individuals managed to finish 24 pieces each of a variety of sushi in a matter of minutes.

Kitsune consumption that they both now shared caused a shift in their physiology. They burned calories twice over and fuel for them was mostly through replenishing their energy through food and water sustenance. Hunger for them was quite excruciating but more so for Satoru if his energy stores were to be depleted very quickly. Being a sweet tooth actually made more sense now than before. Sachiko had taken some cues from him and always made sure she was full before missions.

So, dates where they both looked like hungry savages was always fun. Comments they would overhear with their heightened senses were always amusing.

How hungry are they?

It's unfair, they're both so fit.

They're not human.

They didn't really care for the snide comments and just enjoyed their meal together all the while making bets at how many people would joke about them being such pigs.

Post-mission dates always called for a celebration and Satoru loved watching his tiny girlfriend inhale her food while still keeping her manners intact in between her gobbling. He was surprised that she put effort in dressing up. Her hair was still braided similarly but the way she painted her face looked so natural that her eyes, those fresh rubies that stood out, managed to capture the stare of other men. She wore something he had bought her a few months before. A green off shoulder sweater dress (the price tag mysteriously cut off alongside the label as he hung it to surprise her one time). He loved that her dark-hair and eyes made it look like she was a rose, one that equally looked beautiful and smelled sweet. The kind of rose whose thorns were busy bringing the salmon sashimi towards her mouth.

He didn't realize that he the sushi he balanced between his chopsticks were already sagging and it took a cute laugh from her to point it out, "Something wrong Toru? If you don't hurry eating, I'll finish all the salmon,"

Satoru's shoulders shook, "Sorry, you're just better looking than the food," his brows twitched, "Oh wow, that sounded a little weird," he scratched the side of his face, "I just meant that-" he was silenced as he watched her cover her soy-sauce-stained lips with her table napkin and laughed. The sound of it never failed to make him smile. It was hard being apart and the sound of her voice over the phone didn't have the same effect on him as now. She was always captivating and so incredibly comforting that he'd forgotten all about what happened the last few weeks they were apart.

He pretended to be interested in his food as they continued their chat but all he was fixated on was holding her free hand on the table, massaging the tiredness away with each rub of his thumb and as if by reflex, her fingers would curl around his hand to tighten their hold. The type of connection they had close to instinct even before their souls were bound and yet, the thrill of it didn't seem to fade.

Sachiko had reached for the salmon sushi and began plating it on his side, "Toru, your favorites are wasted on me, go and eat, I'm sure you're just about half full,"

He reached out to her to lift her chin and gave her a rather sultry look, "Who cares about salmon when I have my favorite right here?"

She let out her tongue, "I guess I can't argue with that, still, eat some more," she looked around them, "Save me a bit of face and help me finish our meal,"

"Oh please, with a rockin' body like that, who would dare judge you?" he gave her a sheepish grin and she could almost imagine his dopey look framed with little hearts and stars like the ones they see on their anime shows but she didn't mind it. It was pretty cute.

She sighed, "Anyway, how was work? I'm sorry I haven't been able to return your messages and calls as often while I was abroad,"

"Everything's good Chi, I mean, hello, I'm-"

"Yes, I know, the strongest," she snorted, "That's great then," she took a sip of her tea and blinked, realizing that there were shadows under his eyes and his color had gone a little pale since the last time they saw each other. Again, he had gone through lengths to make their day special despite his fatigue and she couldn't help but feel warmth bloom in her chest. Her fingers reach out to brush the stray strands that fell above his eyes. "Have you been getting enough sleep?"

He shrugged, "I get what I can have Chi, but I'll sleep better tonight now that you're back, I heard your last mission was quite a spectacle,"

She frowned, "About that, there were residuals…"

Satoru clasped her hand tightly now. She looked up and saw the knowing expression on his face, that look, tinged with a bit of sadness admixed with anger and uncertainty clearly spoke of the extent of knowledge regarding the matter, "I know Chi, don't worry, we'll investigate. To be sure," she nodded at him gently and shifted to sit beside him now.

"Okay," she perched on his shoulder now so she could look at him in the eyes, the same sky-blue ones that sent her a kind of peace that can only be found at home. He leaned in to give her a soft peck on the lips, careful to swipe his eyes around to check if there was anyone who would concern them. He proceeded with the kiss, a small one she smiled into and sighed, "So, how's life as a teacher? You're not being mean to the kids, are you?"

He gave out a throaty cackle which made some of the waiters turn in their direction, "Well, it's fun beating kids into shape and get paid for it," he may have spoken in jest but the look he etched when he spoke about his job had more depth to it than he allowed to show. He was very passionate with his mission to create a better world for the younger generation. It was his honest ploy and what better way to end the night than tell him that she'd officially be joining him in his great orchestrations.

"Someone's having fun," she commented, fingers trailing the bridge of his nose, "I'm a little envious,"

He swung his arms around her waist now and smirked, "Then, sign the contract!"

She sighed, "I should've known you had something to do with Yaga's meeting,"

Satoru pouted as he pressed his cheek against hers, their public display of affection earning a few glances from tables across, but he paid them all no mind, "I can't let the higher-ups hog all of your time. I want you to stay close to me,"

Sachiko pinched his nose, "Well, you're in luck 'cause I'll be a new faculty in Tokyo-"

He was quick to hug her now in excitement, knowing well that once her assignment had been made official, she'd have less time abroad but then she just had to give him an awkward laugh that preceded her words, "-and Kyoto,"

"Eh?" he blurted out as he created space in between them.

She sighed, "Well, that was their condition, I have to teach in both…otherwise, they wouldn't let me off with reducing my foreign workload,"

His hands laced on her tightly as he shook his head like a little kid, "Who the hell do they think they are? Want me to talk them? What did your grandfather say?"

Sachiko rested her head on his shoulder now and shrugged, "Well, it was gramps' idea actually since Hiko is also a new faculty member there,"

"Huh? How the heck is he gonna balance being a leaguer and being a teacher?" he scratched his head, "Is this some sort of Miura alliance thing?"

She nodded, "Sort of, so, we have to cover each other in between,"

Satoru waved his hands to dispel the topic, fatigue becoming more evident in his eyes, "Okay, sorry, I understand. Let's not talk about that anymore,"

She covered her mouth to mask her yawn, "Yeah, it's better if we just see how things goes. Don't worry," she lifted her head to look at him, "If they keep me from you long enough, I'll give them a beating," she giggled.

"How scary," he mused, helping her steady on his shoulders. He signaled for the waiter to settle their bill and not long after they were already inside their cab on their way home to their apartment.

Satoru was the first to doze off inside the car. His snoring so noticeable that even the cab driver couldn't help but laugh. She fixed his head to rest on her lap, herself, having to scoot over the end side of the right just so his torso could fit comfortably as he rested.

"My giant is so exhausted," she whispered, fingers running through his pale bed of hair, carefully massaging his scalp and successfully erasing the lines on his forehead. It was nice holding him that way. Gojo Satoru was asked of too much sometimes. He wasn't a machine and yet they treated him like a destructive object. In her eyes, he was just her Satoru. Her overworked boyfriend who was overly fascinated with sweets. And her Toru, was still human, never immune to fatigue, real.

Inside the vehicle, they were protected by smog of the city, the noise drowned out by the car doors, carriaging them towards their sanctuary to conclude their night with proper slumber.

"Your husband sure is tired," the cab driver looked through the rearview mirror, the wrinkles on his eyes evident as he smiled at them, "Seems like you two had a rough day,"

Sachiko laughed at his observation but couldn't help but blush at his statement, "Oh, um, he's not my hus- yes, we kind of just got off duty,"

His shoulders shook, "I see, forgive me for prying. It's just you two look like a newlywed couple, how long have you been together?"

"Oh," she paused to think about their timeline, the number of years seemingly not too distant the actual number she was about to answer, "E-eight years or so…"

He lifted one of his hands from the wheel and gave her a thumb's up, "Wow, that's very sweet. I sense a ring is warranted soon," he teased.

Sachiko folded her lips and etched a half-smile, "Uh well," she felt her heart beat faster now. She'd gotten that question very frequently since they turned twenty-one and to be honest, she was also entertaining that question. Still, with how crazy their lives were at present, she didn't press on it.

The cab driver gave her another curious look, "Don't worry, you'll get it, I know you will. From what I saw from the restaurant, the hold he had on you was something you couldn't easily cut off. And the way he looked at you, like you were the only person around, felt to me like you two had been attached to the hip,"

"I guess you could say that," she rested her hand on top of his cheek and caressed it, making Satoru wince then smile at the feeling her warmth, "He's not my husband, yet…but, yes, we are very much-" she felt the heat rise from her chest to her ears now. She wasn't sure why she felt so nervous to answer in front of a stranger but part of her wanted to express how deeply she cared about him but seeing the shyness paint in her face made the cab driver fawn over her with a kind smile.

"You two are very much in love, I know my dear. It shows,"

She tried to hold her giggle to avoid disturbing Satoru's sleep, but she could help but affirm the kind stranger's observations. Her scarlet eyes landed on her handsome giant, carefully taking in his calm face by tracing the outline of his chin and then his eyes before turning to the mirror and smiling widely, "I'm glad it does, cause, there's no other way to describe it, my feelings for him I mean,"

The cab driver took a left turn and honked his horn once. Awaiting a few minutes for him to pause in traffic before responding. He turned to look over his shoulder and nodded towards the lovers. He couldn't help but smirk at the revelation that Satoru had momentarily opened his eyes to peek at his beautiful girl before returning them to a close and embracing her.

He was listening the whole time.

The cab driver gave an airy chuckle and winked, "Oh you two, what you have is in indeed something close to magic,"

Shouko's apartment

"Thanks for the treat, Sachiko!" Ieiri had just finished her 48-hour shift and had taken the longest bath in the world that prompted her friend to extend her invitation into her home. They went out to get some coffee but after getting their orders, the two best friends opted to take their chat at Shouko's place.

Sachiko had already prompted her that she wanted some girl time with her, making reservations and such which they all ended up picking up and bringing home.

Personally, Ieiri felt relieved that she wanted to talk, and it was highly important that they made time for it. They were practically sisters they knew when something was up and if her white-haired friend's conversation sparked something in her mind, it was that particular moment that Shouko had come to prepare for.

She ground her last stick on the tray outside of her balcony and returned to join her friend who unloaded the food and wine into proper containers. Shouko grabbed the bottle and began filling the glasses half-way.

Her hazel eyes softened at the look of Sachiko looking so calm and casual despite the topic at hand. It was just like any ordinary day, but she knew behind that smile, part of her was ready to run under the covers out of fear.

Shouko allowed her to initiate the topic, "So," she took her fork and jabbed of the mozzarella sticks to take a bite, Sachiko urged her to take a few sips before she spoke.

The scarlet eyed woman across her formed a red band on her cheeks as she clasped her hands around the glass, "Ieiri,"

"Yeah?" she started drinking again.

Sachiko took a deep breath, "He asked me to sleep with him,"

Ieiri spurted out some of the wine back into her glass. She knew what Sachiko was gonna say but the bluntness was too much for her to handle that she couldn't help but slowly lower her glass and look at her friend wide eyed,

"And you're okay with that?" she asked with much urgency, not caring about the stain on her lips as she wiped her mouth with the napkin in front of her.

Sachiko gave her a coy look and nodded slowly, "Yes," she folded her lips and looked away, "Ieiri, I want to…"

Ieiri cleared her vision by batting her eyes a few times before finishing the contents of her glass and smirked, "Well then, what can I do to help?"

As she sat and waited for her friend to settle into their little space, she couldn't help but notice the many changes she's gone through these past few years. There was a time when she'd be content with being excluded from the rest of them. The ease of being alone and working alone forced her to be in the grey lines of life. For a while, she felt extremely sorry for her, but she didn't have the kind of courage to approach someone labeled as extremely dangerous and yet, when she was presented with the opportunity to talk to her, she never looked back since.

And there they were, left as one of their most trusted people in the world. They grew up together not just as sorcerers but as women and there was a spectral bond that tied them close enough to treat each other as sisters. She loved that her friend was able to overcome so many traumatic things in her life and the fact that she was willing to entrust a huge part of herself, particularly to a man, made the young reverse-curse user extremely emotional and proud at how far she had come. It was a rough road, one she willingly allowed to walk with her with.

She may be the world's strongest sorceress, but Miura Sachiko had to go through the kind of hell that you wouldn't wish upon your worst enemy.

All she was before was a cloud of negative energy, another formidable tool for the institutes, doomed to spend life in a tight circle of men dictating orders, but never under the watchful eye of peers that would be brave enough to care for her.

And yet, one day, two young men went against the odds and talked to her. Two, men.

Men.

There was a time when men, frightened her. She couldn't stand to be around men for too long and she learned to be very selective on who she trusted. One wrong move could spark something extremely defensive in her which she said, when she was a child was too crippling to even breathe.

But slowly, she learned to be around them.

She befriended them and trusted them, and she told her, it was easy because Ieiri was able to.

Sachiko had told her that she looked up to her so much and wanted to be more like her even if Shouko thought of herself as very closed and conceited. She wasn't particularly warm, but she did care about people. Like Sachiko, she chose her affiliates well and even if she initially thought that her friend's story was too painful for her to bear, she took all of it with her, because that's what friends do.

They never leave.

When Shouko looked into her ruby eyes, she saw two reflections, but both aren't her own. She saw two versions of Sachiko standing beside, the frail, broken child and the strong, independent woman she called her friend.

And it she couldn't believe that despite all she had been through, they were one in and the same.

Sophomore Year

Shouko set-up an impromptu sleepover at Sachiko's private dorm. It was after she got deployed in another mission alongside the boys and after their incessant texting, she couldn't help but feel a little left out. Thus, their rendezvous.

She brought along matching pajamas for them, popcorn, chocolates and some cheesy books and movies they could read and watch over the weekend but in actually Shouko only brought those for show. She wanted gossip and she want a lot of it now.

As soon as they had settled in the sofa, Shouko broke their silence and asked nonchalantly, "Hey Sachi, just out of curiosity, do you by chance, have any crushes? Or I dunno, are you interested in someone? Coz I've got a bunch of people asking about you," it was actually a true inquiry. Since her unmasking, she had many boys ask about her dating status. It was hard to neglect the truth that Sachiko was an attractive girl and her status as a special grade made her even more appealing to others. Plus, she had a great personality so who wouldn't get curious about the unique looking Six-Tailed Kitsune?

Sachiko shook her head casually, "I haven't really thought about that,"

Shouko pursed her lips and squinted her hazel eyes at her as she pressed further, "Let me be blunt, there are TWO people who are particularly interested in you," she stuck out her index finger and began stating some facts, "One who openly admitted to me his desire to pursue you and another eating his pride and retreating to his childish behavior and denying he likes you despite doing everything he can to divert others from getting a chance," she caught her breath, "Both stupid but kinda funny actually," she snorted.

Sachiko already knew whom she meant. There have been whispers about her and the two boys, rumors that reached the officials of her clan and place investigations over their families that she chose to deny since there was really nothing going on. She did vouch for their kind personas. That was the least she could do when her name was being tarnished along with them that she felt a little guilty.

Ieiri noticed her apprehension and sighed, "Sorry girl, just curious,"

She thought carefully about her next set of words. Ieiri had been her faithful friend for a year now and she was nothing but honest and caring towards her that she knew, one way or another, she had to confide in someone about a dark portion of her past.

She fiddled with her fingers as her eyes flocked down towards her lap, the air grew thick that Ieiri couldn't help but raise her brows in concern as she pressed on her shoulder.

Sachiko broke from her pondering and folded her lips, "I don't really know…um, I've never been in a relationship and well, I didn't have a lot of male friends in middle school. The men I trust are my family and I guess those two, but I never thought of them differently,"

Shouko grinned, "Aha! So, you are aware!"

She raised her hands, "Or maybe I'm just assuming,"

"Maybe this could be good for you to explore. Doesn't have to be those two," Ieiri shrugged.

Sachiko folded her legs in front of her and hugged them close to her chest, "I know just, I'm kinda scared," she sounded serious. Part of her strength was lost in her tone as she spoke.

Shouko tilted her head sideways, "Why?

Sachiko looked very apprehensive and Shouko noticed the tremor that surface as she clutched her knees tight. Her face grew pale and Shouko became flustered as she caught the glistening crystal that encased her eyes.

Sachiko continued, "Well, it's hard for me trust people especially…since…those I expected I could trust…hurt me…before…"

Shouko blinked, "What do you mean?"

She let out a nervous laugh, "I'm not sure if you want to hear my story…it's not pleasant at all…"

Ieiri stood to transfer beside her, gently nudging her friend to break from the heavy ambience that became more apparent as she sat in place, "You don't have to tell me now, but I think it could make you feel better if you told someone about it. If you need me to find someone for you, I will," she reached out to squeeze her hands, steadying them over hers as she said reassuringly, "I'm-I'm a little scared to ask but I want to know…why you're shaking…"

For a few minutes, Sachiko had buried her face on her thighs and remained silent that Ieiri started panicking, "Sorry sorry! I'm sorry if I'm making you uncomfortable!" she wrapped her hands around her friend who slowly lifted her head to face her with a wry smile,

"No, it's okay. I trust you Shouko…I just don't want you to look at me differently once you know…"

Shouko looked at her with still but caring eyes, "No matter what, I'm still your friend okay? Whenever you're ready…"

Sachiko held her hand in a squeeze and pleaded, "Please…I'll tell you but…please…just between us, for now…"

Shouko nodded, "Okay, I promise…"

Sachiko took a deep breath and fixed the way she sat. With sorrowful eyes, she began her narrative, "You know I lived my aunt, right?"

Ieiri nodded.

"Well…the thing is, when I was living with them, it felt like a prison and I had the worst warden of all…"

Sachiko paused briefly and spoke through her trembling mouth, "My uncle…"

Shouko felt her heart sink immediately. Those two words were enough for her to understand why she was so apprehensive in making friends especially with the opposite sex. Something inside of her ached in fury and it became incredibly difficult to mask her sadness.

Sachiko didn't wait for her to react and continued. Either way, she already felt how she felt sorry for her. She was a smart person. She was already given enough information to connect the dots.

With a heavy heart she continued, "When I was six, I had begun to exhibit some cursed energy potential. For some very minor things like me telling them that I was being followed or I saw monster or the person who broke the vase was a curse, he hated me for it. But things got a lot worse when my cousin was born. I had increased my ability to sense curses and I had no control of my powers. And he knew that I was attracting strange phenomena. But he didn't really act on it except verbally. His words are still etched in my mind but then you know, they gave me everything, An education, food, a home and even my own room. Well, it was filled with talismans, but it was fine. And they allowed me to have my own liberties but at home, it was a little different,"

Ieiri dug her nails into her arms to steady herself for the rest of her story,

"When I was 8, I was taking care of my cousin, she was 2 then. She couldn't stop crying and I didn't know what to do so I decided to hold her until she stopped but my uncle didn't like me touching her, so he hit me hard and pushed me while grabbing my baby cousin from my hands. And she couldn't stop crying since then," her fingers traced the outline just above her temple. It was presumably where her uncle had bruised her back then considering her description, she probably suffered a concussion too and Ieiri couldn't help but close her eyes and swallow her whimpering for Sachiko's sake.

Sachiko lifted her trembling hands and clasped them together, "I felt myself tense then but also very weak. When my aunt arrived, since she was a doctor, she checked on her baby to see if she was fine but didn't bother to look at me after giving me an ice pack. I went to school with a bruise on my arm and they told my teachers that I had fallen off my bike,"

"Sachi…" Ieiri's voice trailed off.

Sachiko shook her head, "That wasn't the worse part, the following year, they all became sick except for me, and they totally blamed me for it. My aunt said that my cursed energy was eating them up. To suppress it, they had me go to a shrink for my trauma after my parents' loss and since the shrink was her colleague, they gave her some drugs. I refused to take them begging them almost as there were too many, but they found ways," her voice began to weaken, "When I was ten, my uncle came home, dead ass drunk and was looking for my aunt, but she was on duty. I had just finished bathing then, already putting my clothes on-"

Sieri grabbed her arm and shook her head in an attempt to silence her to keep her from reliving her trauma, "Sachi, you don't have to-" she felt her own emotions take charge of her being that she was close to breaking down.

Sachiko began whimpering. The water just kept on her trickling down her face as she narrated but she didn't stop, "He kept on banging on my door, telling me that I would just have to do. I was so scared, but he managed to break in. He looked at me like I was a piece of meat, and he ignored my cousin's cry from the nursery. He grabbed a few pills from the cabinet and grabbed me, forcing the pills in so I would lose consciousness. He told me that it would help with keeping our secret but-" she shut her eyes now and buried her face in her palms making Ieiri hover over her in attempt to hug, "He touched me…all over…and I ended up with a lot of bruises but-he didn't go far. He didn't-Shouko-he wasn't able to because I fought back-"

Shouko was crying now, frozen in her arms as she rocked Sachiko back and forth to soothe her like a child. She couldn't stop trembling.

"I bit his hand and ran. I ran to my cousin and locked the door. I waited until morning. When my aunt opened the nursery she saw me in the corner with my ripped clothes, bruised and expressionless but she just picked up my cousin and told me to get ready for school. She had prepared a bath for me and that was that. But, my uncle, slightly sober, intruded my space again that same morning, whispering a warning that I not tell anyone about what happened and when he ran up his hands on my thigh, that's when I screamed. And I-almost burned the whole place down,"

Ieiri couldn't believe that someone, a physician, one who took the oath to care for the sick and the injured would ever place a blind eye to her own blood. It was inconceivable and her anger burned through her like wildfire that she couldn't help but muffle her frustration in her sleeve.

She asked for some space but leaned against her friend as she continued to lament, the fire in her eyes apparent as her anger reflected in her tone, "My uncle never touched me again-" she gritted her teeth and wiped her tears, "I think-my aunt brought me to a specialist to check. Sans the bruises, she didn't find any trace of me being taken advantaged off but-they continued to drug me. Injecting me with downers when I slept, crushing pills over my food out of fear that I would wake up one day and kill them," she hissed, "I wanted to, honestly, but I didn't want to be known was the person who killed an innocent child's parents," she settled to lie against the sofa and took a deep breath, "But I'm glad, my grandfather found me before it was too late. I drank the pills willingly that day, but I was saved,

She offered to hug Sachiko now, and she willingly embraced her bestfriend back to take comfort. They looked at each other through teary eyes and Sachiko gave her a rueful smile,
"Since I was brought home to the Miura estate, I've been receiving treatment. I only take my meds when I have a panic attack but that's very seldom nowadays. I have my psychiatrist on speed dial though so don't worry,"

Shouko flung her arms in the air and bawled, "Shit Sachi! Despite that, why are you still kind? How can you treat people so well? How are you so good to all of us?"

Sachiko placed one hand on her shoulder and nodded, "I know what kind of person I shouldn't be. I don't want what happened to me define me in any way,"

Ieiri gave her a half bow, "I'm sorry for forcing the topic on you,"

"Not at all," she placed both of her hands over hear heart and took a deep breath, "I'm actually glad that I finally told someone about it. It helps lighten my load a little…"

Ieiri pursed her lips and gave her a reassuring and determined smile, "You just tell me whatever you need, call me if you need anything. Don't hesitate! Fuck the boys, I'll help you get through this, step by step,"

Sachiko finally found herself a reliable confidante. Someone who wouldn't label her for her past and someone who was willing to walk beside her through the rocky path she would need to take towards her recovery.

She saw in Ieiri's hazel eyes the kind of honesty and blunt kind of kindness and guidance she needed in her life and she knew, telling her was the right choice.

She finally found someone to trust with her secret.

"Thanks Ieiri, I'm glad I have you,"

After her recollection on the day Sachiko confided on her, she could no longer recognize the child she once saw in her eyes. In front of her was the brave soul who had nothing else to fear.

She laced her arms around her friend and patted her head, "Sachiko, you'll be fine,"

A Pub

Suguru took a hit from his cigar and waited for his friend to reply to his query. He didn't expect her to take him seriously but knowing about the nature of the topic, she allowed him some guidance.

"Did you get what I said?" the reverser asked as she lit another stick in front of the cursed spirit manipulator.

Suguru tapped his stick twice and nodded, "So, that much can put that bitch to sleep huh?"

"That bitch? I thought you were talking about a wild animal?"

Suguru smirked, "There's no difference,"

Shouko began to take her leave, "I see you have brought me one step closer to hell huh?" she blew off a smoke, "Whatever your planning, make sure to keep the other two out of it. I'm already regretting talking to you,"

"I know," Suguru stepped on his cigar and turned his back, "Thanks for your time,"

"Hmpf,"

"And Shouko?"

"What?"

Suguru cackled, "Tell the higher-ups to stop looking for her aunt. I'll take care of her myself,"

Shouko's eyes widened in horror but before she could stop him from leaving, Suguru disappeared behind the shadows,"

"Shit!" Shouko hissed, hastening towards the Infirmary to inform Yaga.

Kichijoji Secret Apartment

The air around them shifted into a calm standstill, Satoru waited patiently and watched as Sachiko tried to get back to her senses. His request was a heavy ask. And her face that lit up in scarlet and warmth that exuded on her skin as she held him made him a little restless yet, he couldn't disturb her pondering. So, he remained captivated by his precious muse. She looked very timid, and her hands were trembling but she remained very beautiful and still as she sat on his lap. He caught her lifting her eyes at him quickly before looking away, the scarlet bad on her cheeks spreading to reach her ears.

She didn't know that he also felt powerless in that moment. In all their years together, in all the time they spent further their relationship, he always acknowledged that his desire to connect with Sachiko deeper physically was there. He didn't think when he was a boy that someone who would willingly stake her life for him would come. Someone, whose gentle caresses and head rubs would be enough to make his heart ooze with much affection. He loved every piece of her, and he wanted to show her more intimately how much he was devoted to her being.

Satoru's shoulders moved as he let out a silent laugh making her jerk her head upward to face him. He continued to cradle her into his arms, his large frame in comparison to hers was enough to encircle her whole body. He rested his head on her shoulder and took a deep breath before taking her right hand and winding it between his fingers, "Chi? You don't have to decide now, we can always do something else on our birthday…I just, want to make sure that day," his voice trailed off as he looked at her coyly, "Our first," he bit his lip, "Is special for you. That's why, I asked…" Sachiko's lips quivered as she struggled for words so, in reassurance, he patted her head, "No pressure okay?"

As if her heart jolted her back to life, Sachiko quickened to lift her chin and look at him directly in the eyes. Her lips quirked upwards and her eyes had moistened from the emotions she was feeling. She was incredibly grateful that he asked properly and was extremely considerate of her feelings. He was always one step ahead in everything they did. Sometimes, the lengths he went through just to make her happy were unnecessary but that that's what made fall in love with him more. When it came to their work, he never held her back. She didn't need her hand held but he was always there to offer it if she needed him.

She was safe with him

She was happy.

She was content.

The answer was clear, "Satoru, it's a yes,"

His eyes, so incredibly clear, looked like it glowed brighter. The creases beside his jaw and the wrinkles on his eyes appeared with his toothy smile, "Really?" his voice almost cracked but the joy and excitement he felt was evident in the way he looked at her. His grin was crooked but only because he couldn't believe that his wish was coming true.

His hands rested on her warm cheeks, thumb caressing on its sides, widening the blush on her face.

Sachiko shyly nodded and overlapped her hands in his, "Of course I want to-and I, I appreciate you asking…and because you did, I can prepare too so…"

A breath escaped her as Satoru pulled her into a hug, hold tightening yet not suffocating, warmth transferring from his body to hers and for a moment, she swore she heard him hold back a sob. Satoru's hands were shaky, and he didn't seem like the confident man who always stood by her side. When they made some space, she saw the water that formed in his eyes, but the pool wasn't of sadness, it was of a humble glee, like that of an unexpected wish that would come true.

Satoru closed his eyes and gave out a breathy laugh, "I-I thought I'd surprise you too," he admitted, cautious in his statements so as to not alarm her. She giggled making him pause his statement, a little worried that his decision to preempt her was wrong, "I'm sorry," he raised his voice, "Did you want to be surprised?" her eyes widened, "Did I-ruin it?" his brows weaved together, a bit of anxiety loomed in his core.

She turned his head to face her and gave him a chase kiss on the cheeks, "No, if anything, you made the right choice," her eyes flocked downwards for a second before turning to him bravely. She wouldn't have minded the spontaneity of it since it he would ask her permission anyway but then, gifting her some time before, the words escaped her, became intimate, was something she needed, "N-no! This is better! I," she gave him a sheepish smile before resting her head on his well-built chest, "I'll look forward to it…

He looked down to where they eyes could meet and grinned widely. The look of assured victory made his face brighten that he felt his whole body pulse in happiness. He whispered against her ear and gave her a kiss on her temple, "Thank you Chi…" he laughed excitedly, "I can't wait!"

She laughed now but straightened to jab at his chest playfully. The blush across her face very visible that Satoru couldn't help but adore her even more. She crossed her arms, "You don't have to sound THAT happy," she covered her red face and spoke through her half-hidden face, "It's embarrassing…"

His voiced echoed in her ears as he chortled and lifted his arms, "NO! IT'S GONNA BE GREAT! I promise!"

Sachiko smiled then set herself down to his side. She placed her hands in front of her lap and fiddled with her fingers, "O-okay…so uhm, before then, what should we uh-"

Gojo patted her head, "I understand Chi, you want some space before that…but today, let's stay together…okay?"

"Of course, where else would I go?"

Sharing a bed wasn't something out of the question anymore. In fact, they've grown quite fond of lying next to each other, holding the other and waking up with their most trusted confidante most days of the week. She liked the feel of a warm body next to her. Careful hands encircling her form, even with eyes closed, Satoru knew exactly where to hold her. He felt her presence strongly and the way she would bashfully move closer to rest her head against his chest.

Still, even that had a time limit. A silent understanding of something else that could be triggered existed among them and now that they had agreed to become more intimate, Sachiko found a bit of difficulty sleeping that same night.

She woke up covered in his arms, his snoring audible but not bothersome, made her laugh as she watched him sleep. She warmed her hands before placing it on his face, tracing the beautiful outline of his jaw and his nose and then his eyes. The pale eyelashes moving in a subtle flutter whenever her breath would reach him. She stopped to survey his lips next, eyes tantalized by how lovely the shape of it was, and how rouged and soft it was to touch but more so to mold her lips in. His mouth, that moved with fervor and spoke to her only with thoughtfulness and humor, comforting words and adorations that she could not help but press a chaste kiss before settling back beside him.

She remembered how, there was a time in her life that she never would have imagined being in the same home as him. He was very crass, spontaneous and all mighty. She couldn't deny that she was intimidated by him and a little envious.

He, was the epitome of what the elders wanted her to be-cunning, brave, confident. She was a closed book, one whose alliances was meant to be made in order to provide space for her own development. She was tasked to learn from others and see what it meant to be among those who classify her as strong. But because she was more than what others call ordinary, she was ostracized. She watched behind their shadows, taking mental notes of how easy it was for him to make comrades and display the kind of authority at such a young age but what she wanted the most was to be able to get that kind of aura that is able to maintain company.

Yet one day, she learned how because he showed her. How it was to trust, to belong and to not feel alone anymore.

He became her friend first, then her partner and then now, his significant other.

The person she entrusted her life with, the person who so willingly gave a part of his soul to allow her to continue breathing.

She owed him everything and yet all he asked was for her to be happy.

To stay with him and allow him to continue loving her.

It was a silly thought because, he didn't need to ask her.

That was all she wanted from him, to feel loved and treasured.

Because he was the first and only who made her feel the kind of happiness, she never thought possible outside of dreams.

She was grateful he was patient even though at times, she herself, wanted more.

She rose from her side of the bed, slowly replacing herself with a fluffy people for him to hug and grabbed her robe. Before she left his side completely, she kissed his cheek, the imprint of her lips left a patch of red as his lips twitched into a smile.

She freshened up quickly afterwards and proceeded to cook for their breakfast. He rose not long after and settled on the dining table to join her for their meal.

It was a rather typical morning of them preparing for their work, but an odd request came from the Six-Eyes user.

Satoru sat in front of the mirror and handed her a long loop of bandages he had asked her to use to cover his eyes. He had been having some trouble controlling the shift from his own innate technique to borrowing her own vision that the strain would sometimes be a bit taxing. He wanted to try something that could block a bit of his registry but still be able to use the full extent of his skill.

"Are you sure Toru?" she said, slowly unwinding the loop in her hands and crouching by his side, "It's gonna look a little silly," she ruffled his hair.

Satoru laughed, "Yes, I'm sure. I want to try this. But," he places one hand on her arm and calls unto her to face him. He set her down slowly in his lap and cupped her face with both hands. He took a good look at her now, reviewing each detail of her features making her blink and blush at the intensity of it, "Beautiful!"

Sachiko pinched on his nose and giggled, "Of course you'd say that, I agreed to sleep with you after all," she shyly joked after making what was the best version of a wink that mimicked his.

His smile grew enough to allow the sides of his eyes to wrinkle, "Come on now! Not just cause of that, but you know what I mean…" he sighed and rested his head on her temple, "I'll miss you. After I walk out of those doors, I won't be able to see you for a few days," he sulked.

Sachiko ran her hands into his thick hair, "Don't be too dramatic babe, it's already the 2nd. It's just five days," she squinted her eyes, "You crybaby!"

He groaned, "Yeah, 5 grueling days," he balanced her jaw in his right hand and angled it to meet his for a long kiss. She extended the gesture by craning his neck with her tiny hands making him deepen the sensation in their mouth as he plunged in to land a few more.

She laughed as she backed away, "Save some for the 7th Toru,"

Satoru grasped her waist and brushed his lips on her neck before hugging her, "Oh, don't worry Chi, I will,"

Fushimi Inari Taisha

The safest and most ideal place to be where there would be no distractions was for Sachiko to stay at the Miura Dojo with the children while Satoru would be staying in his own flat. However, before he had completely parted from her for a time, Gojo Satoru had opted for a short detour into the Taisha on his own.

He headed straight to Sachiko's parents' tamaya, settling down an offering from his own house, a freshly baked umegae mochi he had made himself as well as a perfectly preserved branch of a plum blossom, plucked directly from the Tobiume in Dazaifu. As expected, the memorial looked like it was erected yesterday. Like any other Miura tamaya, every flower and fruit offered would forever remain fresh and beautiful, like a mini domain from the power of the Kitsunes were protecting them from fading.

His brows flew upwards upon witnessing the candles light up on their own as if he was being expected by Sayo and Kanata themselves. He searched around but save for a few strolling inaris, he was the only person present. He took one of the incenses and had them lit, afterwards proceeded with a short prayer for their soul's rest.

He settled in front of the tamaya, eyes softly placed on the portrait before him. Sachiko's parents were in their wedding attire. The lovers gazing upon each other affectionately, like that moment captured the start of their long and merry lives.

In that photo was the depiction of a fulfilled life and it made him so appreciative that despite the tragedy that became of it, they were able to live behind a precious legacy he would now have the privilege of taking care of.

His hands grew numb from the tight clenching of his fists, and he almost laughed at the irony of how much easier it was to go to Hideo Miura when he was 21, to ask for his granddaughter's hand in marriage. He guessed that in the many times he was shot down, he had gotten used to it and asking a pair, locked in memory inside the four corners of the frame was harder.

How would he even begin?

It was after all a choice that did not belong to them, but their daughter.

Still, it was essential for him to pay them respects for once the night they were to share was over, the responsibility for the next years of their lives would fall unto him.

He spoke to them in prayer. His mind formed a conversation with her parents, of him narrating his intentions for their future and for the blessing to form their own home. A hand went behind his nape, rubbing nervously as he realized he begged for permission for many serious things under the shadow of cohabitation when he badly wanted to push for them to already settle down.

He raked through his hair forcibly and sighed. If only things were simpler, safer, and more ideal. Chi and I could've been building a home now.

Satoru folded his arms and slumped on his knees, "I'm sorry I can't make things better for now and I rely on her to help me but," he straightened his clothes and poised to stand, heart bouncing off his chest. He slowly lowered his head towards their portrait and bravely declared,

"I vow to take care of her. Everyday, I will treat as if our eternity has started. No moment, I will ever leave dull. She will never be found wanting. No harm shall come her way. Please accept my humblest request to be with her, 'til my breathing stops and-" he couldn't help but chuckle as he broke his own stream of thought. He was about to say 'til my hair turns white, but that would only entail that his fate with her would stop the moment he finished his sentence and so he continued with a newfound play of words, "And," he cleared his breath, "Until, spring ceases to exist, until winters lose their glow, I will stay by her side and share her soul,"

To others, it may have sounded pretentious, but it was the most sincere he had been since he set foot inside the Taisha. For a moment, he thought that perhaps his ancestor, the greatest poet of the Heian era, would've been proud that he was able to speak so eloquently about love.

Because, there was a time, he didn't believe in it, until he experienced what real mysticism was like.

It felt real because they both learned what it meant at the same time and in the same way.

How, their scarred past, filled with nothing but loneliness was shattered by a simple act of selflessness-a singular touch, a gentle yet sweet embrace, a playful exchange, so many simple yet amazing moments that all resulted into a catalyst to the kind of connection they had now.

And he couldn't wait to take another leap with her.

She was all he ever wanted.

She, was his home.

"Satoru?"

A soft, kind-sounding voice of a woman suddenly disturbed his melancholy that he whipped his head towards the voice's direction. His eyes grew wide at the sight of the middle-aged two-tailed Kitsune in her clan robes. She etched a curious expression as their visitor stood frozen in front of the Tamaya. In all honesty, she had overheard his speech thanks to her heightened senses but thought it decent to allow him the privacy of his touching words. She couldn't help however to inquire what brought him to such a humbled state.

Kodansha approached him but paused to greet Sayo and Kanata before she tilted her head to the side and smiled, "Let's get some tea, shall we?"

She had brought him to the tearoom, the same place where he first met her and Hideo. With just him and Sachiko's aunt as occupants, it felt like the space had widened too much that he had to be careful to speak in his normal, booming tone.

Kodansha had filled his cup with warm green tea before settling on the seat from across. She looked very welcoming and yet he kept on forming beads of sweat under his brow.

As if she could smell his apprehension, she set down her cup after one sip and began their conversation, "It was nice of you to visit Sayo and Kanata today. You're quite early," her hazel eyes landed softly on his frame, "You usually visit on the 8th with my Sachiko," she lifted her greying brows and her cup towards her mouth, "I can't help but get curious as to why,"

Satoru placed one hand on the mug and shrugged. His eyes did not meet Lady Kodansha's and for the first time in all of their time knowing each other, she saw him shrink and curve his back as if he had a shameful secret that was forcing to keep undisclosed but his whole body language spoke of it.

Kodansha, the slyest fox-hybrid, had every intention of unravelling the truth.

Satoru lifted his head and moved his shoulders, "Oh yes, I thought it would be appropriate for me to ask permission about some…stuff," the look of horror immediately encased in his eyes because no matter how cryptic he wanted to sound, Kodansha was sure to exploit it in her own twisted way.

Her crescentic eyes sharpened, and her smile widened enough that as she gasped glee, he swore he saw her palate. She clasped her hands together and squealed, "OH MY GOODNESS! DID YOU-" she covered her mouth with one hand and rose from her seat, "DID YOU ASK FOR A PROPO-" her happiness dropped the next second and she settled calmly back in her seat to continue drinking her tea while the young professional sorcerer could feel the sweat drop to his jaw, "Oh wait, you already asked permission for that but my brother said no-" she tapped her chin and looked at the distance to ponder.

Satoru shook his head, "Oh, uh, no something else…"

She winced.

He took a long gulp of his tea and wiped his mouth, "But-uh, it still required me to pay respect…in some way,"

The older woman slapped his arm and laughed, "I'm kidding! So, earlier, you said you wanted to ask me something?"

"Uh, it's more like an inquiry actually,"

"About what?"

Her appearance was quite fortuitous. He desperately needed a trusted member of her clan to provide him some clarity regarding the lifechanging event that was to come.

Still, who in the right mind would ever ask about something connected to intimacy when his partner was her beloved niece?

He felt his teeth chatter as he clenched but there was no other person, he'd dare to ask than her, "S-soooo, I was wondering…those uhm," he scratched his head and pointed towards the assortment of tealeaves on the table, "Do they only grow here? Do they have to be brought form somewhere for it to do it's effect or-" the faster he spoke, the more he felt the heat spread from his neck to his ears and he had half the mind to rephrase his sentence for her.

Kodansha blinked three times and smiled awkwardly, "What are you talking about dear?"

He swiped his nose and looked away, "The tea…" his voice shrunk.

"Tea?"

Satoru opened his mouth to specify but a lump in his throat made it difficult to blurt out the word that would instantly make her understand. His lips quivered and the more he left it agape, the more Kodansha zeroed in with an inquisitive stare.

Satoru breathed through his nose and felt himself flush but only he could let out was a small voice that came from his mouth, "…buck…wheat?"

What happened next, happened so fast that even he was taken a back. Kodansha's eyes widened and sparkled with stars. She slammed the table with both hands and etched a magnificent and devlish grin. Satoru felt himself shrink into his seat and his face turned white from shame as she laughed wickedly. She was extremely ecstatic and it scared him a little instead of giving him comfort that she was elated by his inquiry,

"AT LAST!" her voice rose in jeer, "AT LONG LAST MY DEAR BOY!" She went to his side and gripped his shoulders, grimace unleaving her face as she spoke with fire, "Leave it me! I'll have a whole crate harvested for you and Sachiko!" she looked so determined to help him with something so personal that he actually felt the fire from her fox-self emit from her skin.

He gulped at her statement. The blood was rushing through his head and he swore he felt like his heart stopped at what she was trying to imply, "C-crate?" he felt out of breath and sweaty and uncomfortable that he couldn't help but loosen the button on his collar, "N-noo-and y-you understand what I-" she smirked at the boy with the harsh rouge painting in his whole face.

She placed both hands on her waist and crooked a brow, "I AM A KITSUNE BOY! AND I-" she swooned as she jumped up and down, "HAVE PRAYED TO THE GREAT KITSUNE KAI FOR THIS DAY!"

It was a little weird for her great aunt to ever pray for the day that she'd give up her virtue and become an experienced woman someday, but it was even stranger for her to casually admit it to the man who will take it.

Satoru felt his soul lift from his body and began to turn and walk away, "I-I better go…" she caught him by the collar and kept him in place. For someone who was smaller and less stronger than him, he felt so powerless under her hold, "If you leave now, I won't give you any buckwheat!"

He forced himself to calm down and return to his seat. Too afraid that if he'd do anything else to displease her, he'd be exposed, "H—hai…"

She patted his head and took her place beside him. Her elbows were propped on the table, fingers interlaced to create a bed for her chin. She gave him a wicked smile that matched her equally inquisitive and ambient eyes, "So, tell me…what are you plans for my beloved great grandniece hmm?"

Ieiri's apartment

Sachiko was frantic the moment she had called in suddenly to invade her best friend's place on her very rare day off. The call was perplexing and very little detail was given to her save for the fact that she would be bringing food and booze for the both of them to share.

Four am. She told Sachiko over the phone. I just got off from work and you're calling to inform me of our brunch at four freaking am.

She set her alarm at eight and hardly had enough energy to tidy up her place for her visitor so when the doorbell kept on ringing by the strike of ten, Ieiri had finished half a pack of her cigs before she took a shower and greeted her.

"Ieiri!"

The reverser was still processing what her friend had told her. If it were turned around, Sachiko would've probably started her litany of comforting words and careful guidance for her problem in hand. For this one, needed a minute.

She hooked her arm around the back of her chair and crossed her legs then snickered, "Oh, wow, I'd tell you congratulations in advance but it's a little weird to me since-" she stifled a nasty grimace and nudged her shoulders before she whispered in her ear, "You're gonna fuck Gojo,"

Sachiko turned crimson as a strawberry. She felt so jittery and embarrassed by her blunt statement that it was hard for her to keep still, "IEIRI!" she yelled, as she waved her hands in the air before she brought them towards her warm cheeks.

Ieiri rolled her eyes and grabbed a forkful of her food, "Oh, sorry! 'make love,' to that idiot or whatever," she shook her head sarcastically.

Sachiko closed her eyes, "I'm freaking out here! Help me!"

Ieiri continued eating and gave her friend a small smile, "Relax!" she used her fork to point towards her, "You're good to go! Physically anyway," she chortled once more making Sachiko knot her nose and wince, "I mean I've helped you prepare for this for years now and my god, you two are twenty-fucking-five, you shouldn't need my help anymore!"

She was correct. They were all adults, and their relationship wasn't a premature one. They were calm enough to make a decision as a couple on their own, but it seemed that Ieiri saw that there was more concern inside of Sachiko that she couldn't share with anyone else.

Her scarlet eyes flocked downwards along with her mouth, "Ieiri, you know I-"

She still looked withdrawn, and this made Ieiri a little worried that she'd second guess herself when she already made a sound decision.

She set her food down and moved her chair closer to her, "Listen Sachiko, you have absolutely nothing to worry about! We knew it was eventually gonna happen and bottom line, that guy is whipped! He loves you for chrissake!"

"I know that, and I love him too…so much…" she took a deep breath.

Ieiri couldn't help but flick her forehead making her jolt back up to face her as they conversed, "Well duh, we all know that! You see the fact that that idiot is head over heels for you should be enough to calm you down. Gojo Satoru wouldn't wait around for anyone 'ya know. Hell, even if you two won't push through with it soon, he'd be fine with it! Just ask your grandfather!" she threw her hands in the air and allowed them to slap against her thighs making Sachiko tense up.

She weaved her brows, "My grandfather? What does he have to do with this?"

She sighed, "Sachiko, every year since you both turned 20, he has been setting up meetings with your gramps to ask his permission to fucking marry you!"

Sachiko stood from her seat in utter disbelief and her eyes grazed her memories for any clue which could have led to him secretly setting meetings with the person he most feared from her clan. The person who expressed flatly his doubts and frustrations about the Six-Eyes user and who have had a few arguments with regarding his more off-beat dealings with the higher-ups. It was ironic that the Miura clan head had the same ideals as him but had more finesse with dealing with the mediocrities of the officials. But the fact that he had such a serious intention for her made her feel so moved.

Sachiko stood in front of her friend and bit her quivering bottom lip, her expression filled with overwhelmed glee that it brought Ieiri to stand and calm her down. She placed one hand on each of her shoulder and assisted her to sit, laughing all the while her friend tried to contain her tears. She grabbed one of the tissues and handed it to Sachiko and beamed,

"YUP! He had the balls to actually do that over and over again and he's not gonna stop anytime soon so," she jabbed her friend's temple with her index finger and grinned, "You know, he's serious about you and he will never give up on you," she sat back and crossed her legs as she watched her friend slowly reveal her own smile as she wiped her tears, "So, again, you idiot virgins have nothing to fuss about!"

"Satoru has…over and over again,"

"That's a discussion for some other time, okay? Just, concentrate on the matter at hand for now," she leaned her elbow on the table and gave her a suspicious look, "You two probably set a date but tell you what, but, when it comes to the actual thing, just let it come naturally," she placed one hand on her shoulder now, "It'll feel so much better then," she emphasized.

Sachiko nodded but still couldn't contain the tremor in her fingers, "I'm just nervous. I don't want to disappoint him…"

Ieiri clicked her tongue, "That's never gonna happen. I assure you. The point of the act is to express how you both feel about each other in a more intimate way physically. You two aren't children," she blinked then sighed as she searched through Sachiko's moistened eyes, "But don't do it just cause the occasion calls for it. I mean, you learned that during the Marking Ceremony," Ieiri almost burst out laughing at the recollection of the event that she had to cover her mouth and looked to the side, "You two lapped each other up and he was getting places and yet, he stopped-" she clapped her hands once.

"We both did,"

"See? So, don't be scared to communicate. If you two feel that the time is right, then go. You can tell him what you want and don't want. That's the beauty of relationships," she crossed her arms now and inhaled, "Laying out facts here, okay? He loves you. He'd never hurt you, if he does, we'll kill him, don't worry," she spoke with a bit of humor which made Sachiko feel better about her nerves. She was being supportive not just to her but to Satoru which meant that she was optimistic of the outcome.

Sachiko giggled and snarled, "Thanks for the backup,"

Ieiri gave her a thoughtful look and calmed her tone, "Sachiko, you'll be fine," she reassured, "Both of you. I just have one last question,"

"What is it?"

Ieiri moved her chair closer to ears and darted her hazel eyes at her scarlet and gazed intently, "Do you trust him?"

It didn't need any thinking. She answered reflexively, "With my life,"

Ieiri snorted loudly that it made Sachiko jerk sidewards and bring her brows together.

Ieiri slapped her thigh and spoke through her laughter, "I knew you'd say something cheesy like that," she wiped away her happy tears and gave her a quick hug before turning towards the bottle, "Okay. Good. So," she refilled her glass and set Sachiko's in front her, "Drink the wine and let's talk about something else as we eat our food. Or I could tell you some stuff I think could help with your steamy nights ahead," she grinned maliciously at her and winked inciting a chill that went through Sachiko's already fragile self.

Sachiko took her glass and emptied its contents before gesturing for another one, "Just the wine and food thanks," she said nervously.

Ieiri rolled her eyes and blew raspberries, "Fine, boring virgin. Who knows, after this week, you two might jump on each other every time you can. Like fucking rabbits in heat," she cackled loudly that it made Sachiko's ears ring as she shied away from her statement, "Doubt it though," she aligned her glass on her lips and continued to laugh, "You're both probably vanilla,"

Sachiko couldn't help but giggle at her snide joke. Ieiri always knew exactly what to say to her bluntly yet reassuringly like something had imprinted in her mind about how to guide her through delicate matters similar to the way a sister and a mother would. She may be seen as cold and distant to others, but to Sachiko, she was the warmest and most welcoming person she had ever known.

She set down her glass and reached out to place her hands on top of Ieiri's free one and gave it a tight squeeze, "Ieiri?"

"Hm?"

Sachiko gave her a grateful expression and smiled with her eyes closed, "Thank you, for everything…I'm sure, with all of the things I've told you, it wasn't always easy to be understanding. You had to endure a lot with me and have been extremely patient with helping me understand a lot of matters," her voice turned shaky now, "I don't know how to thank you," she released her hold and laughed nervously now as her voice rose, "I'm freaking embarrassed that I have to go and bother you with my personal matters but I really appreciate you being so understanding,"

Ieiri quickly went to give her best friend a tight hug and took a deep breath, "Oh please! We're like sisters and," upon her release, she caught Sachiko's eyes turn to glass, her lips were quivering, the lip biting did nothing to stifle the tears that began to run down her face that Shouko felt her own self well up, "What the hell Sachi?" she covered her eyes with her sleeve to refrain from allowing Sachiko to see her form water in her eyes, "Why are you making me cry?" she yelled at her making her friend giggle as she cried. She pinched her side and began to croak,

"I feel like I'm your mom giving you away or something! And I can't be that person, because," her breath hitched as she sobbed and soon she threw her arms around her Kitsune friend and exclaimed, "That would mean I'd be handing you to that idiot Gojo!" she bawled in Sachiko's arms as she hugged back and patted her back,

"I'm sorry, I just don't know how I'd get this far without you,"

They let each other go to look eye to eye and laughed as they wiped their tears.

Ieri flipped her long, brown hair to the side and exhaled, "What the fuck Sachiko?" she snapped, "We were just talking about you having sex for the first time and now we're crying!" she took a direct swig from the bottle, "Let's drink some more!"

Sachiko pushed the plate of food towards Ieiri, "Let's eat first,"

Ieiri took another big gulp and let out a shameless burp, "Oh please, your tolerance for alcohol has decreased since you did the binding, drink and be merry! I'm telling you, after that night, we might not see each other for a while," she grinned fiendishly again and kept on raising her eyebrows in hint, "I think, for a significant amount of time, you two would be tied to the bed," Sachiko's eyes widened in shock and she could feel the heat travel all over her body, "Or on second thought," Ieiri continued, "If you come crashing on my door looking for birth control or pain meds at least shoot me a text first,"

Sachiko nervously held her glass as she looked away in panic, "AHH! Okay, okay, let's change topics please!"

Ieiri shook her head, "No way! We haven't even picked your birthday suit yet!"

Sachiko furrowed her brows, "My what?"

A very loud exasperated groan came out from Ieiri's mouth as she set down her glass and pulled on Sachiko's chair, "Oh boy, we're in for a long night,"

December 5th, 2015

They had indulged themselves with one last date before they were set for their last day apart. Of course, they had gone out of their way to celebrate nothing but a rare day to be with each other.

From the distance, the first look that they shared from across the street made them have silly thoughts of missing each other terribly despite the short time they were apart. They were in constant communication even during their agreement to make separate arrangements for their 7th and yet, they couldn't hide behind the shadow of their excitement as they looked at each other's faces.

There was only joy fluttering in their chest that they didn't even notice that they had closed in the distance so fast.

An afternoon stroll disturbed by the sudden outpour of rain on a sunny day was hardly considered a nuisance for the pale-haired Six-Eyes user. Occasions to celebrate, rare moments of peace outside the grueling demands of missions didn't come by often.

Satoru equipped himself with nothing but his own resolve that day. All that he held in his long and calloused fingers were the warm ones that twined in his. When his palm was left empty, it felt like frost had settled in them, but her hold quickened the flow of his blood through his veins, awakening every fiber of his being into a joyful consciousness that could only be distraught if she would let go.

And that was enough for him to escape the trenches of curses and responsibilities and even ill words that often plagued his reputation. Doubt and fear, encapsulating the man behind the name to outsiders but to her he was simply 'Toru, the man she held dear.

Her partner, her better half.

The truth remained mostly in between them. As complete opposites in character, no one would have ever thought that they could be. Acceptance of who he truly was and is was something only she kept visibly clear in her flame colored eyes.

She wasn't just a normal persona herself. Special grades become a rarity in their community and her kind, though valued, was considered unnatural. Having been born with two halves of one soul came with the kind of prejudice that old hats in their society liked to call, impure.

He didn't think so. He condemned that thought.

How could something as delicate and beautiful as her ever be called as so?

Time didn't side with her once. Each moment spent was quickly transformed into a memory, threatened to fade, and become nothing but a parcel of the past that would otherwise only seem like a dream.

Throughout her years as a sorcerer, she had lined up many contributions worthy of praise and yet all seemed moot as she lived with a permanent deadline. Life was destined for her to be short-lived. Despite her classification, she would always remain vulnerable no matter how strong she was until—he came and changed the flow of her time.

While he, despite being born with so much reverence and aptitude, was left in permanent isolation, doomed to spend his long arduous days like a machine.

Being brought up under a deity's lineage, he thought his prayers would have been easily answered. Questions of whys and hows would surely reach a conclusion under the Tenjin, so it was funny when he heard nothing but silence from his end and was instead sent a person who would push pause in his overwhelming stream of thoughts, voices crowding each day sending him into a loop of dissatisfaction until she turned all of them into dust.

Someone finally saw through him, all of him and broke the glass in his crystalline eyes, piecing together, patiently, carefully, the fragments perfect and imperfect that made him whole.

Being his most prized secret, he could live in the shadow of the man they pictured him to be since he knew the only light, he needed was standing right next to him.

They would continue to live under their own bubble. Content and unfazed with whatever lie ahead for them.

Now under the dew of the storm hovering over their life as sorcerers, they could finally settle in a small corner, a sliver of a second to themselves.

Satoru escorted her across their garden, a wry smile appeared across her face as her eyes searched for meaning of his sudden proposal to walk under the rain but one step in the wide expanse of nature and she knew that the first drop of water that failed to land on her crown meant the start of a rather interesting quip from the man holding up his hand into a benediction.

There he was, overly grinning, gums visible, bright blue eyes lovingly placed on her own piercing through the dark tinted shades that slipped to the edge of his nose. That smile, almost Cheshire still painted of sincerity. His glee prominent and pure that became his way of reassuring her that despite unprecedented circumstances, nothing could ever break what they had.

She gave out a shaky laugh, the one that always echoed of her playful chastisement and appreciation for his optimism before she spoke, "I want to make the most out of our time, why must it rain on such a perfectly good day?," She asked, a frown slowly making its way visible on her lips. She was bemused by what little time and opportunity for them to dress up and act like a normal couple that she wanted to make each detail perfect for their short rendezvous.

Satoru didn't respond and instead egged her closer outside of the protection of the ceiling. Movements becoming more careful as he housed them inside his sphere.

Her pale, slender fingers reached out to catch the rainfall and she found herself smoothening her temple at the non-contact of the otherwise cold water that should have landed on her palm. It was strange yet comforting that he would always remain as her shield, in whichever way he could provide.

One, two, three steps in and they were standing in the middle of the rain. The sound of its hard fall almost made it impossible to hear each other's voices but one peep from him startled her in a way that also moved her inside but kept her feet planted firmly beside him.

They were still dry and kempt and warm. Of course, Gojo Satoru would never allow something as trivial as the rain to get in his way.

The whole world seemed to disappear behind their own crystal. As it continued to move on its natural orbit, Satoru and Sachiko chose to remain in their own little domain.

"For us, I can slow down time," he began, "Even if for a fraction of a moment. Inside my infinity, I can decide what can and cannot breach my cosmos. I decide who gets to share in my dome of protection.

I may seem unreachable, and it may look like you are unable to grasp my hold but do not be fooled. Inside the pulse of my energy that may seem warded against anything other than myself is a finite space that is allotted only to you. Nothing and no one else matters.

In my Infinity, you are my center.

My beginning.

The pinnacle of my story.

My limitlessness, lies in you."

"Inside the pulse of my energy that may seem warded against anything other than myself is a finite space that is allotted only to you.

In my Infinity, you are my center.

My beginning.

The pinnacle of my story.

My limitlessness, lies in you."

Sachiko's heart swelled up in response to the most sincere set of words he had delivered towards her.

Perhaps he had difficulty in articulating better phrases in terms of his romantic quips but, he was always honest.

She found herself suddenly wrapping her arms around him, keeping him in her own little sphere.

Her chin rested comfortably on his shoulder, making him peer downwards at the beautiful figure staring up at him with her scarlet eyes.

Sachiko's hooked his frames in between her fingers and slid it slowly away from his face, making him angulate towards her direction as she leveled herself to rest her warm palms over his cheeks.

There were no words she could ever think of that could suffice as an equally eloquent reply to his confession so, taking a cue from him, she had decided it was best to show him how she felt so happy and loved and appreciated with his declaration.

She craned her neck upwards as she drew him in, her breath easily breaching and stimulating the nerves on his lips with the first brush of hers against him. Her eyes remained open to assess if he was welcoming her advances but one look, and she knew, he had become undone.

With gentle intrusion of her space as his hand laced on her waist and the other resigning to relieve of its position in benediction, he cupped her chin and moved to mold his mouth on hers, slowly, sweetly, savoring not just her taste but the feeling of tenderness which each movement that they shared under the pouring rain.

Their bubble had burst but only because their feelings were too sharp and precise and strong to keep hidden from the rest.

And they continued to kiss under the rain, dampening their clothes, and their hair but still remained smiling into each press of their mouths as their desire for each other only grew.

But it didn't matter.

Because, inside their infinity, they were warm and safe and whole.

A little rain would never hurt.

December 7,2015

Kichijoji

He had slept the whole of the 6th off to recover from the slight cold he had gotten from their date which ended with a passionate kiss under the rain. He treated it as a prelude for the big event and my god was it difficult to leave her alone in the dojo when the pull of her strings was incredibly taut. He didn't mind the rush of it though. He would rather die than be sick on their birthday, so he woke up extra early to arrive at their apartment first.

For a few days, it had remained vacant as it stood as neutral ground, but it was incredibly exciting to return to their home away from the watchful eyes of the Institute. He was going through his list thoroughly from his clean-up duty around their place, to making sure that he had remembered how to cook their meal properly as he laid out the ingredients on the tabletop.

He placed all the prepped ingredients near the stove and the grill and placed the cake inside the fridge and began cooking.

It seemed easy enough to do since he had watched, and assisted Sachiko more than a hundred times and he was grateful that he had paid careful attention. He only spent extra time tasting the food each time he added an ingredient, after all, his girlfriend was a pretty good one. He tasted the cream pasta sauce and smiled at his own victory then after, he nibbled on a string of the fettuccini and was relieved that it wasn't overcooked.

Confident that the rest of their meal wouldn't need much preparation, he set off to finally start preparing one of the most important areas in their place.

Their room.

Their bedroom.

Satoru slowly turned the knob towards their bedroom and was greeted by the clean sheets they had left behind. As usual, nothing was out of place thanks to Sachiko, and it was very neat and welcoming except Satoru wasn't satisfied. Ordinary wouldn't cut it.

He took the bag of newly pressed linens and sheets as well as fluffed up pillows he had rushed in shipping just a few days before which also came with the specific linen perfume and soy candles that Sachiko was fond of.

He made sure that his hands were clean as he started changing their bed's interior and accessories. Some were adorned in soft Egyptian cotton, while some were fixed with silk covers. He finished the layer with a weighted blanket that was soft as clouds and with one swipe of his hand across, he was done.

He took a few steps to check the alignment and grinned. Perfect.

Satoru grabbed the spray and lightly showered their bed with the fresh scent of bamboo and lilies and placed soy candles on each side of their dresser and took a deep breath. The sweet scent made him tingly inside and he couldn't help but allow himself to feel a little flushed as an image of him and Sachiko lying next to each other under the covers went through his mind.

This reminded him to check the other important contents inside of his side of the drawer that they would need for later and one short peek was enough for him to sigh in relief.

"I hope this is okay," he said to himself, going through the whole room's arrangement a second time only to be disturbed by a very annoyed stuffed doll with boxing gloves hitting his leg incessantly. As it was programmed to keep alert if Sachiko was ever placed in a compromising position, Tsukamoto couldn't help but attack Satoru.

Satoru grabbed him by the collar and lifted him towards his face, "Tsuka-chan, we talked about this, you can't be all needy tonight since this is a very important occasion. We'll play with you soon, okay? Now," he dragged the bear outside of the bedroom and dropped him gently, "Scram!"

Even as he set off to take a shower, Tsukamoto wouldn't leave him alone. He sighed as he tied his towel over his waist and went down to pat the bear's head, "Listen Tsuka-chan," the bear attempted to hit his face only to end up falling to its side, "I promise you, I'll take care of her, okay? Calm down buddy,"

The bear shook his head and as if it knew how emotional the night would get, like he was about to give Sachiko away to a stranger, the little bear donned sad eyes making Satoru a little apologetic, "I'm sorry about the whole spectacle but this is between me and her okay? I won't ever harm her, I promise you," he patted the bear's head and with one hesitant nod, the little bear settled to lock itself in one of the spare rooms at the storage area.

Satoru quickly went over to pick the appropriate attire for his most important dinner to date, "Shit, I didn't think this through," he went on to pick a very relaxed pair of dark colored slacks, his most expensive one, as well as a very crisp white, long-sleeved button-down shirt. He looked at himself in the mirror as he put on his clothes and as he was about to fasten the first button, he couldn't help but notice his trembling fingers. He clenched his fist a few times before continuing and snickered,

"Hell, even I get nervous I guess. Better now than later," as soon as he was done tucking his shirt, he drew his face near the mirror to check if he had shaved neatly thereafter, zeroing in on his ridiculous shades that balanced on the bridge of his nose. He carefully removed them and sighed, "No need to activate it here. No walls tonight," he rolled his sleeves and grabbed the hair smoothener and began fixing his rather unruly locks and with each strand he tried to hold in place, it dawned on him that Sachiko had been too forgiving with the way he looked so scrappy compared to her and was grateful that she wasn't focused on such things but a little downcast at how he hadn't been paying that close attention to himself.

He grabbed one of his mild colognes and dabbed it on his collar and a little on his shirt and straightened, "This is as good as its gonna get. Thank goodness she loves me already,"

He peered over his watch and saw that his date would arrive in an hour, and he had to rush inside the living room.

He opened the casket of his violin and began tuning it, playing a few notes to warm up his fingers as he hadn't played in quite a while. It was part of his surprise for her. He never admitted that it was him playing the instrument in her slumber and allowed her to believe that it was part of her dream and they never brought it up again. Thus, his opportunity to surprise her now.

Satoru closed the case and set his violin down and took a good sweep of his eyes around the apartment. Everything was set in place, all that was missing was her.

For a moment, he recalled a similar setting. Back when they were students, Sachiko and him would spent a quantifiable amount of time in each other's dorm rooms watching anime, reading manga, doing homework and even casual dropbys and it seemed like those things were part of the distant past. It was a very fun and innocent time. If they weren't hanging out with their friends around campus, they would be sneaking off in between missions to do some touristy stuff. It had been part of their unique bond. As two kids who grew up within the confines of clanhood, freedom to roam and be curious of such mundane things were extremely atypical.

And those moments became integral to their development as a couple.

They started as friends, partners and colleagues and ended up as something more.

He leaned back on the couch and took a look at the picture he used as a wallpaper on his phone. Two pairs of shadows, walking hand in hand under the trees of the Metro Dojo's picturesque landscape and the story behind it was one he could remember in detail. It was the day of their confession. That day, they had their first kiss and he felt something he never felt before-love.

Every nook and cranny of their place, was symbolic of very important events in their lives. From photographs on the wall, to carefully preserved souvenirs and of course the brand that he had on his chest that would last forever.

He remembered everything, and for the first time in a while, he was thankful that his eyes couldn't miss any detail.

Everything about it seemed dreamlike and yet there they were, just a few months in, they had started sleeping next to each other…and now, another first would be added to their history.

Sachiko had finally sent him word that she was near and after his reply, he got on his feet and finally set their table. Before leaving the door of their bedroom half-opened, he had turned on the candle warmers allowing the smell of cinnamon to filter their air.

He swallowed nervously as soon as the scent reached his nostrils. It was similar to scent she used when she bathed, and it made him a little more eager to further the events of the night. Excitement pulsed through him as his marking started to warm through his imprint. She was near.

He already set himself near the mirror to check on his look one last time then hurried to greet her by the door. Before she could ring the doorbell, Satoru had opened the door, sending her a step back in surprise.

"Okairinasai, Chi-chan," he said sweetly, ushering her in, "It's cold out there, let's go inside,"

Sachiko blushed immediately at the sight of her handsome date. She moved her eyes away quickly to avoid any awkward glances. He always had that kind of smile that made her blood rush to her heart that she would end up being a little nervous and overly cautious. She hid it well though and Satoru knew how hard she was adorably trying to seem confident.

He carefully took her hand and guided her inside, the sweet scent immediately capturing her attention and calmed her down as he shut the door behind them.

Satoru didn't wait for her to speak her first words that night and proceeded to help her remove her heels, something she did not expect from the Six-Eyes user even if he was innately caring towards her.

When he brought her to the dining area, the smile on her face instantly grew and the glow of the candles quickly complimented her scarlet eyes that were highlighted with the green wrap-around dress she wore, like she was a rose in a beautiful vase, the centerpiece of their home.

She tied her hair the way he favored, a loose braid with strands tucked in one ear, the sapphire earrings she always wore remained as her accessory. His eyes dilated at the sight of the peeking insignia on the skin over her heart. The declaration of longevity that was beautifully painted on her body that only he could see only made him admire her more.

She was extremely radiant even before they sat across from each other as they had their meal.

Sachiko's first words were of praise and appreciation for all the effort he had placed into making the night special that she couldn't help but be kept a little speechless by his surprises.

"You're very beautiful Chi," he reached out to touch her hand, "I'm very lucky," she closed in her hand over his and with one jerk, they blew their birthday candle together and gave each other a chaste kiss.

Satoru then guided her to the couch in front of their fireplace and asked her to sit. He grabbed his phone and placed it on the table and timed it to record. The gesture making Sachiko wonder what he had in mind. He went behind her now and grabbed his violin, making her do a double take at the six-foot figure poising to play was really her same Toru.

"Surprise Chi," he angled the instrument over his shoulder and rested his chin on it and soon, his slender fingers and his bow began to move and dance to the melody each chord was producing. She recognized the tune so well, it was one that haunted her for months especially in her slumber and she didn't know that Satoru was playing Beethoven's Romance 1 and 2 in F Minor, no, she had another label to the song that brought her back to life.

It was the song that made her rise from the planes of purgatory, the one that twined with his gentle voice that never failed to bring her back even when hope seemed dire.

She watched him play so passionately, his eyes were half-lidded initially to check if she was watching and his smile was very gentle even as he closed his eyes to concentrate on his performance. It was an incredible display of emotion. Every note was reaching out to her, tugging at her soul like a warm embrace.

It was a graceful rendition of a classic piece, and her ears were given only pleasurable sounds that ignited her whole being. She wanted to allow the rainfall of her tears to spread on her cheeks but nothing about what she felt hinted of sadness. She felt so secure and enamored by him that she couldn't help but stand and rest her hands over her chest as she listened with moistened eyes.

He was pouring his whole feelings through the song, and it didn't need any words to make sense. Between the shadows of silence, was his voice, his breathing, his speech inside her head and she knew all too well what he wanted to say that the moment he had finished playing she ran to throw her arms around his sturdy frame and spoke clearly, "I love you, Satoru,"

Satoru's pulse quickened as he threw the instrument to the side and returned her hold. He was glad that she understood what he was trying to convey and was grateful to himself for taking a chance at it.

"It was you, all long, I thought it was just your voice, but it was also your music. I followed the tune and the humming when I went through the abyss and found the light to ascend from my slumber because that song echoed in the hollows…it was you," she spoke in between her tiny sobs and lifted her chin to look at his clear blue eyes. Satoru couldn't find the words to say back to her so he could only rest his palms against each side of her face and tuck back the stray strands of her hair as his lips pressed on her temple.

She smiled at him endearingly and stood on her tiptoes to lace her hands behind his nape making him scoop her up to align their faces. She rested her head over his shoulder and continued her speech, "I love you…" she repeated, the effect did not falter even if she did so that Satoru's bliss made him quirk his brows together and gaze at her lovingly as she spoke. He was left defenseless at her words and the more she continued, the more he felt incredibly triumphant and secure that his choices brought him fruition.

"I've never thought I'd find someone to love after everything I've been through…let alone have someone find me," her crimson eyes glistened against the light, "I can't explain it but you make me feel whole," she rested her right hand on his cheek, making him press on it the more she caressed it with her thumb, "Something about how I've been living before always made me feel like fragments of myself didn't match like a dissociation between who I am as a person and who I am as a sorcerer didn't make sense and yet you helped me accept both sides of myself that I never knew were possible," Satoru's hold on her tightened,

"When I met you and I realized that I felt so deeply connected to you outside of our training, I felt so overcome that someone would actually want to hold my hand," she paused to take a deep breath and Satoru felt like his own would soon find difficulty escaping his lungs, "I never knew that I could depend on someone freely. I always kept to myself because I never wanted to be a burden. I had power. I had skill but I was always alone until, you," she rested her hand on his chest and lifted her head to look upon him directly and quirked her lips upward,

"You came and picked me up when I was in shards…when I thought that life was just for being, but you showed that it's worth living. Because of you, I found hope. And I don't want to let you go. I can't-" her hands scrunched up a bit of his clothing, making him reflexively overlap his to soothe the tension away, "So I, I want to tell you, I love you…not just because we are bound but despite of it. My feelings have never changed,"

Satoru plunged his lips against hers, the mold wasn't tame, but it wasn't overcoming either. For a few seconds, they stayed in their place before he allowed some distance to breathe. He lowered his head to catch her emotional eyes and he couldn't stop smiling as he replied, "Chi…you have no idea how much you mean to me. Everything just made sense when you and I came to be," he sighed, "I was so lonely. I admit," his shoulders moved upwards as he gave out an airy chuckle,

"I thought it was self-serving at first. Having someone understand how duty was dictated to override all self-indulgence and you coming from a prominent family, I thought I could get by easier because of that," Satoru took her hand and guided it to his cheek, "But, honestly, it became harder because I feared losing you. Fear," he laughed,

"I never thought I'd fear something so much that I'd end up praying to anyone who would hear me. I never knew what loving meant. I was scared too, because I always lose people and I didn't know how to make effective connections outside of friendship and duties but then, you were the first person to see who I was outside of my glamour,"

He rested his temple on hers and gazed down at leering red eyes, "You trusted me, and I wanted to keep that trust so hard. It was nice to have someone who didn't need my constant help and attention and yet, I yearned for it so much," there was a bit of desperation in his voice that Sachiko quivered in his hold,

"You were my exception. I wanted you to call my name. I wanted you to depend on me. I wanted to be that person for you," he gritted his teeth as he closed his eyes, "I realized that the debilitating feeling I've been getting, the nights spent thinking about you and wanting to see you smile and wanting to have a life with you was a huge part in it that I'd have the courage to defy all of my selfish interests and focus on something more important," he removed his rest against her forehead and blinked slowly, "It killed me daily to think that I'd wake up next to you and find you forever in a dreamless state. Unbreathing, unmoving and I…" he shook his head, one hand raked through his hair in frustration, "I couldn't live with that possibility. I'd do anything for you, even if I'd have to die once just to make sure you'd live. Which is why, when we got bound, I wanted to make sure that I experience everything with you. I can press on with our fucked-up missions if you're beside me,"

Sachiko moved closer, "Even if I could become your weakness?" her voice trailed off, "Because, you are mine," she professed

"No," Satoru said intently, "We are not each other's weaknesses, it's the exact opposite actually," he took both of her hands in his and kissed them, "Together," he sounded more focused and confident now and his eyes grew sharp and wanting that Sachiko couldn't help but be stunned at his expression, "We are limitless," he released her hands and encased her in his arms, head directed to one side of shoulder, while his right hand smoothened the back of his hair and then he whispered, "Tonight, let's become one…can we? Chi?"

Sachiko embraced him tightly and spoke without hesitancy, "Yes Satoru, oh," she swooned, "Yes,"

Satoru angled his mouth to cover her moistened lips and spoke, "I love you, Sachiko. Let me, be your man, let me take care of you."

Their focus turned into their kiss, the soft, careful molding that Satoru had anchored, was filled with a gentle desire to reciprocate the heartfelt words they had exchanged. Her taste was incredible. He wasn't sure if it was the moment or if the way she naturally did was heightened by their emotions. He couldn't help but smile into some of them and even as she had closed her eyes to relish in their moment, Satoru didn't dare to do the same for too long.

He remembered the words that echoed in the days that had passed when he asked for permission to spend the night together. The image of the red band the spread across her cheek, the feeling that his heart wanted to burst out of his chest and the reassurance that he'd always be patient with her no matter what her answer was. But in that moment, he knew, what they were about to experience was something they would both keep in their most precious memories together.

Satoru didn't want to spend one night together. He wanted that night to commence the rest of his days with her under one roof, sharing one bed.

Sachiko's hands steadied behind his nape and Satoru's craning soon found a new rhythm. He initiated the kiss to go deeper and deeper. Lowering her bottom lip to swipe his tongue across to ask for entrance. Her lips created space in between him, the breath that escaped her was soon replaced by his tongue muscle exploring her whole palate. It wasn't a strange way for them to kiss with that sort of intensity and passion, they done if a number of times and yet this seemed vaguely different.

Satoru shifted their position and she found herself floating in his arms as he carried them both to their bedroom. Sachiko asked to be gently brought down so she could lay her eyes upon the ambient and romantic setting he had created for them that her hand was caught half covering her mouth as she looked through her flushed cheeks at an equally diffident Satoru.

Satoru quickly overlapped his arms around her form as he stood behind her, he held her until they swayed a little as if they were dancing to the tune of the music that played earlier, still vibrating against their ears.

Satoru settled his mouth against her bare nape, and she let out a small gasp as his trailing sent a chill up her spine that she caught him by his hair. Sachiko's grasp made him turn to face her. In his towering form, his shadow covered her entirety. Even under the light, he looked extremely beautiful and glowing. His eyes, the crystalline blue that reminded her of the sky, that reminded her of home now burned with desire that only she could dampen.

Satoru pressed his lips once more into her cupid's bow and turned hungry at the next that she had to catch her breath. Her hands roamed behind him as she tried to steady into his hold, tiptoeing to follow the direction of his tongue and his mouth towards his height. Satoru felt himself tense as his body was responding to her touches well. He had begun to explore her body. He traced the outline of her figure and ended with his hands scrunched up in her hair and the small of her back.

He set aside the loose braid that fell on top of her left side and dug a kiss through the crook of her neck making her muffle her moan. He grinned at her response and continued attacking her throat until she felt a little dizzy and off balanced as she flung her head backwards at his kisses.

"S-satoru…" she whispered, hands swarming carefully at his chest, creating folds on his shirt as she held on. He stopped wisping his mouth over her neck and paused to take half a step back. He tilted her chin upwards to allow her look upon his gentle crystalline eyes, asking for purchase of her affection with a peck on her lips.

"Sachiko," he called out to her lovingly, "It's just you and me," he reached out to the end of her braid and pulled the tie away from her raven hair. The luxurious, soft locks, slowly unraveled before him as he raked his fingers to release the overlaps and smiled. What she did next surprised him. She lifted her hands towards his collar, fingers slightly uneven as she directed them towards the buttons she slowly released, one by one. Her eyes strayed from his own as she slowly exposed his muscular torso and one hand over his skin felt like all the air was pushed out of him. He carefully discarded his top but soon she asked for another kiss before turning her back towards him.

His heart was racing now, unsure of what he would do next if she were to increase the pace of their disrobing but within the next blink, he watched as his beautiful lady, swept her hair to one side and looked over her shoulder shyly. She was directing him towards the zipper of her dress below her nape. She already relieved the tied bow over her waist of her wrap around dress and was waiting for him to do the rest.

Satoru took two steps towards her and allowed the back of his index finger to trace the skin on her nape before holding the zipper. He was getting excited and a little nervous that his stomach churned, and his palms grew sweaty. He began pulling down on the zipper the sound of the opening made him hear his hear beat ring in his ears as he reached the end of the dress. She had on very thin undergarments. A dress-like lacy black lingerie covered her last pairs of clothing that made him jut his jaw over the sexy image splayed only for him to see.

He carefully helped her remove the rest of the dress and it fell with no sound on the floor. He pressed closer on her now, lacing his arms around her body, making her move her head sidewards and reach for his cheek as he took in her scent and kissed the side of her neck, then her nape, then the bare skin on her shoulders, "Lovely," he mouthed as she turned to face him with a red glow across her cheeks. Her eyes flocked downwards towards his slacks and Satoru watched as she carefully removed the belt. He knew she was still apprehensive about their actions so he took it upon himself to unzip and kick off his pants until only his boxers were left.

She took a minute to examine him in this form, mouth parting at the sight of his bulge which made her reluctantly fawn away. Satoru took her in his arms and plunged his lips on hers once more. Deepening the kiss immediately yet doing careful movements as they molded their mouths. He slid his hand towards the small of her back, Sachiko balanced her hold as she reached for his shoulders and soon, he lifted them up towards the bed.

Satoru positioned them so that she sat on his lap but had hear back towards the pillows so that when he laid her down, she would be comfortable, but they stayed a while in that position. Kisses turning more and more breathy and aggressive as they each raked through each other's' hair. Satoru craned her neck to steady their kiss, sucking on her tongue and bottom lip when he could, making her gasp and lightheaded as she paced along with him. For a moment, Sachiko opened her eyes to see his feverish glow that matched hers. His impassioned kissing drew the curtain in his lids to close to focus on the feeling of warmth and tenderness they shared. He looked so handsome and gentle and very much careful and had every bit of intention in savoring the moment. She felt so emotional and touched that she couldn't help but smile into her next kiss and allowed it to linger before they broke for breath, "Satoru," she called out to him to break his trance and his eyes fluttered open and saw the vision he only imagined in his dreams.

He pressed his temple against hers as his hand slowly grazed across her thigh and lifted the gown to expose more of her skin, "Chi?" he asked cautiously now but her nod came quickly as she assisted him to remove her gown over her head so that she was left with dark set of underwear. His breathing stopped at the glory of her supple bosom and the curve of her waist and flat belly. The woman in front of him was very alluring that he couldn't believe she was his. His eyes searched her form for a few moments until they locked eyes and he spoke with much desire, "You're so beautiful…I'm feeling out breath with just looking at you,"

Sachiko's arms slowly went to the back of her nape and she found a bit of difficulty looking directly at his eyes as she replied shyly, "Really? 'Cause, I feel so weightless right now," she returned to place her hands on his shoulders, "-holding you…" she placed her hands on each side of his face then, and allowed herself to focus on his mesmerizing eyes, "I want you, Satoru," she declared.

Satoru overlapped his right hand on her left and kissed her wrist before directing her palm over the right side of his chest. His heartbeat was strong and a little erratic making her eyes widen as she let out a small hum, but his skin was warm and his expression was inviting,

"Everything you see, is yours, my love," he lifted his hand to tuck her hair behind her ear so that her gaze wouldn't be obscured, and she took a moment to marvel at his beautifully sculpted body, the sturdy one that always kept her safe in his embrace.

Sachiko drew his face to hers and plunged her mouth impatiently on his, he responded by shoving his tongue to explore her mouth, hungrily lapping until they both started exchanging very tight breaths. Her gasp went through his mouth as he surprised her with another lift, this time, he exchanged positions with her so that she was under his hold. He didn't lay her down completely yet, but he was positioning to a straddle. He watched as the flush of her cheeks, spread erythema all over her chest so he gave her a calming smile, "No need to be flustered Chi, it's me, I've got you,"

"Okay…" she nodded.

He began to press his body lightly against hers, and his hands began to trace and discover her form again, each touch sending electricity throughout her body, making her voice out subtle moans and gasps muffled by the overlapping of their mouths in between. It was a sensation that made her a little lightheaded and from the sounds that escaped his own mouth, she knew that he took delight in the way she also ran her hands all over his body.

Satoru released his hold on her mouth and directed to make soft kisses on her cheeks, then her jaw and wet ones, he spread over her neck as he stopped to suck at the pulse point that made her moan, "Ahh, Satoru…" he felt her mouth twitch upwards into a smile as he continued to leave marks on her body, silently staking what was his to savor alone with each one that slowly surfaced. Sachiko's hands rubbed at his nape and his scapula, the slight digging of her fingers was enough to entice him to make braver movements. Each time he took in her smooth skin, her body would slightly rise and create a bit of friction, sometimes allowing his pecs to feel the softness in her chest as it rose while she breathed. He felt himself stiffen more but chose to concentrate on easing his advances despite the heat within him beginning to rise.

He slid down to ghost his lips in between her mounds then planted a kiss on her flat belly then glided his hands on each of her thighs, slowly widening the gap in between, making her angle forward to balance on her elbows as he began kissing her legs and inner side of her thighs and simultaneously rubbing the side of her hips causing her to feel wetness pool in her core as his eyes starkly pierced through her to watch her expression. She tried to hold out her moan by biting her lip but as he directed a short moment to press an ample kiss in her core even over her clothes, she couldn't help but gasp at the pleasure. Her breathing harshened as she reached towards him to draw him back to align their faces. He indulged with one peck on the lips, but he didn't seem to intend to slow down.

His hands rested on her abs and soon shifted to make his way up to caress his thumb on the curve her waist, then placed a bit of pressure as he began to trail upward. His warm palm had made it under the curves of her chest, and it rose with her staggered breathing. Sachiko felt an intense flutter in her stomach that synced with her breathing until Sachi let out another gasp as he began slowly and gently kneading into her breasts over her undergarments.

"Satoru…!"

His hands still lingered in between her soft mounds, her voice only made him yearn for more. He lifted himself up then slid his hand on the small of her back to lift her over so that she was half-sitting on his lap. She yelped a little in surprise at their sudden shift in position, but her hands remained clasped snugly behind his nape.

Sachiko's ruby eyes locked towards her lover, so intently, her look made Satoru's body increase in temperature, the knot on his lower abdomen tightened as each moment only furthered his advances. He was being careful yet passionate that he couldn't hold back his grin. Slowly he felt like he was being absorbed by his own masculine desires. For a moment all he could do was stare back at her, caressing the lines on her back as he slid his fingers in between the buckle of her brassiere. His fingers sent a chill up her spine and it made her chest bloom in warmth at his touch.

Sachiko leaned in to kiss him, allowing him to clear her back from the long, luxurious raven locks so he could release her undergarment easily. The small snap was followed by his own heavy panting as he watched as Sachiko, meekly allow the piece of clothing to roll off her shoulders until she finally flung it on the floor.

Satoru couldn't help but spectate at another revelation that was half-hidden under her hair. Sachiko crossed her arms slightly, a little unsure about what her lover was thinking as he observed her form but was soon comforted by Satoru's hands soothing the side of her arms and his gentle and slow pecks trained over the left side of her chest, "You, are stunning," he said under his breath, captivated by the hidden treasure he had only imagined of viewing in his dreams.

Sachiko leaned over to mold unto his lips once more which allowed her to muffle the lewd sounds the both of them were making. Unlike her, Satoru seemed to be comfortable and was truly in a different kind of his element which really helped make her feel so at ease. Slowly, he lowered her on the mattress and continued to kiss her softly. He felt her peaks pierce his own body that he couldn't help but form sweat beads around his forehead as his groin pulsated in expectancy.

He continued to brush his mouth all over her skin like he was marking and declaring his devotion to every inch of her body. He had already captured her soul mutually exclusive with hers and now it was time to address the capacitance of their physicality. Unwanting to leave a centimeter uncoated by his love, Sachiko squirmed with each contact and began tracing his own outlines. The cuts on his pecs and the V on his abline were particularly sensitive. With each caress from her, it felt like she was leaving traces of fire that embedded in his core, coaxing him to grunt and even let out a loud gasp as she palmed through his boxers.

"Chi!" he yelped as she began to stroke him, her touch made him lightheaded and short of breath because it felt extremely good to feel her touch him so intimately, but he only allowed her to do so for a short while as he brought her hands to rest behind his nape to ruffle his hair instead.

He stopped their oral exchanges only to lay kisses on the mark of her longevity. The mark that promised a long future with him as they shared their souls.

The character that imprinted on the left side of her bare breast, he first traced with the curve of his mouth before he began to trail deep kisses in the outline making her breath hitch and her hold on the hair above his undercut tighten. She pushed him back a little to allow her access to press a soft kiss over his lotus imprint. The mark that stood for his loyalty and devotion to her.

He lifted her chin and rested their temples together, moving his face so their noses rubbed against each other before he gave her another reassuring look. Satoru directed her to relax her head against the pillows, so they could have their hands roam around their bodies more. There was something alluring about the way their eyes saw through the glamour of their accumulated scars throughout the years that made them look even more beautiful in each other's eyes.

When her smooth fingers trailed over his spine, he felt a sudden jolt that made him break from their kiss. He was panting a lot more audibly now, looking at her with such intensity that resonated his real desire through his cyan eyes that Sachiko could only smile and give him a small nod.

The grin stuck on his face as she pulled him closer.

She traced the scars that embedded on the notch below his throat, the extension of the faded line still apparent as it stretched as far as the lower quadrant of his abdomen. Every time her fingers grazed his skin, Satoru huffed and weakened at how good, and gentle it felt as she touched him.

"It's okay Toru, I want this too," she said, encouragingly.

Satoru felt like his heart was about to burst, he had waited and longed for this moment and now that it was happening, he felt more than ready to combust.

He took her left hand and guided it to his waist, clasping it over the hem of his boxers then as soon as her hand steadied, he let her go, "It's up to you, I'm yours Chi, you don't have to worry about anything, you have control…"

He was giving her something she had lost at one point in her life. The ability to choose and connect the way she wanted. The ability to take precedence on her future and her wants. It was overwhelming and selfless and incredibly loving of him to speak those words and she felt extremely happy because she knew, he meant it.

Sachiko didn't have second thoughts even though she was still fighting the tremor that appeared suddenly but as she began to tug down on his last piece of clothing, Satoru knew that she still needed some encouragement so as soon as she was half-way, he took it upon himself to completely undress.

Sachiko took in everything that she was finally seeing. Satoru had exposed himself completely to her, giving himself up willingly in his most vulnerable form yet, he was still the one soothing the side of her face, "Can we continue love?" he asked.

Satoru was the first man she had given her complete trust outside of her family and she was right to do so. He didn't hold her like a piece of glass, his hold was tender yet caring, like he was holding his most precious possession that could very much hold its own. He never encaged her despite her fragility, but he never left her side or her watch either. So, she knew, in that moment, she was safe.

"Yes," she said, as she pulled him closer so that he could feel her breath breech his skin. The hotness from the puffs of his breath made her stomach flip but despite a bit of her nerves getting in the way, she didn't dare close her eyes.

He tucked a few strands of her hair and whispered, "Thank you Chi," his eyes left her for a minute only to settle his hand over her thigh, making circles at her hipbone before looping the silk of her undergarment around his finger. He returned his gaze as he began pulling down the fabric, only momentarily getting distracted as Sachiko lifted herself to kick-off the garment so that she was also finally bare.

His gaze at her raw form wasn't malicious, in fact, what was imprinted in his sky for eyes was nothing but bewilderment. Every inch of her was perfect, every inch of her was now left in his care.

The timbre in his voice stating her name helped her calm as they took a few moments to observe each other. Satoru, despite encaging her in his straddle remained uplifted and cautious despite the obvious pool of blood transferred away from his head. He placed a soft peck on her lips before covering one of her breasts with his hands and cupped it gently. He knew he had to take things slow to prepare her, but he also wanted her to feel good as he did. He lowered his head in between her supple mounds and began kissing its curves. Imprinting his mouth deeper against the soft flesh until he felt her peaks start to harden. He continued kneading into them, making her gasp at the sensation, slowly circling his fingers around them that made Sachiko shift her hold from his back to his head to steady, "Satoru…you're making me…"

She was already half lidded and feverish with his touches but with one swift motion, he had taken one of her breasts and covered it with his mouth, gently and slowly suckling on it making her raise her voice at the intensity of the newfound pleasure. She tugged on his hair tightly and continued to moan, "Mm….Toru…" he breath stopped as he released her with a pop but only went on to do the same to the otherside, this time, his tongue had liberally startled circling on her peaks generously making her tremble and curl her toes as he continued his oral ministrations.

Satoru felt elated by the adorable and sexy vocalizations she made from his advances that he couldn't help but smile. His groin was already throbbing and leaking from his desire to connect that he spurred on by sliding his hands over her thighs, one side, he urged to widen the gap, the other he began to fold. Satoru felt his body beg for more and began kissing her desperately on the lips, arousal now coursed equally through their bodies. Sachiko's hips bucked forward as soon as his hand moved to slide in between her slit, "AH! T-Toru?" she said in her daze. Satoru covered her mouth hungrily in his as he continued rub in between her lips, muffling their moans into their kisses, Sachiko felt the tingling in the pit of her stomach grow as he deepened his touch, the sensation giving her difficulty to breathe evenly and her brows unweave that soon, she felt her eyes flutter at the sensation he was giving her.

Satoru released her as soon as he felt that his preparation was adequate but paused to give her time to breathe and rest. He kissed her shoulder then her lips and whispered, "Chi-chan," he gave her a tight hug before he realigned himself to brace for the next event.

She nodded as she clung to him and smiled, "The answer is yes,"

Satoru plunged his mouth to give her a deep kiss, molding and entwining into a perfect fit with each movement, Sachiko's glistening alabaster skin felt like she was on fire as their bodies met to create friction against their unentangled skin, her senses began to awaken in a way she had never felt before.

He moved to reach for the items he needed to prepare himself, generously coating himself with lubricant to cushion their contact for the first time. He propped himself over her and dazed at the beauty below him who smiled longingly as she held out her arms to hold him. They reconnected their lips, gently encapsulating their breaths to share as Satoru affixed himself for entry.

He slowly lowered unto her now but before he breached her space, he reached out to caress her cheek, "Look at me Sachiko,"

She directed her attention on him completely, sending him a silent message of her trust and mutual desire to become one and with one swift movement, Satoru had begun entering her.

"Ungh!" he mouthed, his leaking member initially forced to a halt against her tight walls, "Chi, are you okay?"

She gasped at the sudden intrusion. The glistening water beside the corner of her eyes wasn't paired with a look of pain and instead she welcomed him even more, "Don't stop Toru…" she said in between staggered breathing.

He sucked air through his teeth as he continued, the pleasure that he felt was extremely good and it made Sachiko breathless as another inch breached her. He continued to glide in, and his face knotted at the warmth and tightness and that made him feel incredibly satisfied and yearning for more the more he moved closer. He felt Sachiko tense up, her eyes were closed, and her mouth was left open but could only vocalize very minute sounds as she began to feel fulness fill her core. When finally, when he was closing in, his mouth hung open at her at the lack of space and warmth and moisture that kissed his manhood as he finally bottomed out. He panted harshly and also lewdly at the attachment that in order to distract himself, he decided to kiss her gently as he waited for her to adjust. Sweat dropped from his neck to her body and Sachiko had dug her fingers on his back as she felt her walls slowly accommodate and stretch to fit his girth.

She knew he was longer and girthier from what she saw and initially doubted if she could ever have adequate space for him and she was grateful that he was very gentle as they connected, allowing her space to adjust.

Her breathing slowed after a while, and she was finally able to open her eyes to look upon the burning ones staring back her. They were both in a bit of a frenzy. Just by the fact that they were connected, they already felt pleasured and in heat.

"Sachiko, are you okay?" he asked now, careful not to make too much movement to not incite her or hurt her.

She erased the weave on his brow with her shaky fingers and smiled, "Yes, I'm alright, Toru," she took in a sharp breath, "You-you're inside me,"

He grinned at her softly now and gave her a gentle peck, "I am Chi," he caressed her cheek, "Can we, continue?"

She smiled and nodded at him.

Satoru began to glide in and out of her now, movements initially slowly and languid with just a few deep thrusts in between. She would clamp her eyes shut in those thrusts, grip on his neck would tighten each time he did so. Satoru couldn't help but grunt each time she would clamp her legs a little in between him that sometimes he would lull back and feel the heat spread quickly from his stomach to his groin, "Chi, you feel so good my darling…"

"A-ahh…Satoru…" she reciprocated his accolades, her tiny voice sometimes croaking each time she moaned, and this very much encouraged him to continue moving his hips in circular motions as he thrusted in and out, "Toru! Agh…mmmm…."

"Chi, ugh…this feels amazing my love…" he was increasing his pace as he pumped further that soon her legs began to wrap behind him, driving him closer to her. He growled as he was forced deeper inside her, his core was twitching irreverently, and he grunted and chased his high.

Sachiko delved into his advances, her head dove deeper into her pillow and her hands found a way to hold unto the sheets and teeth fasten on the pillow as he pushed further in. She released her inhibitions and allowed herself to get entranced by the way he was making her feel. Every inch of her tingled in delight, despite her inability to create coherent sentences except for the mention of his name, her eyes clamped shut as he moaned and spoke of his adoration for her whole form, at times, he would gesture for her to look into his eyes as he continued to reconnect with her over and over. They were a sweaty mess, and they were flushed from the face to their toes that it orders to maintain some control, she fastened both of her legs to steady their angle.

He was radiating so much heat, "Sa-chi…ko…" he forced himself to say her name softly. The more he looked down and saw his lover smiling and receiving his thrusts willingly and devotedly that he grinned at how much they were both enjoying their moment. They were so happy that they could finally express their love to such extent of intimacy that the thrill didn't seem to hint of dying down anytime soon.

His heart continued to race with each lock and soon, he felt that she had willed her hips to rock back at the same pace he set that for a moment the pleasure made his eyes rolls back as he grunted, "UGH! Chi, that was nice…Chi, do that again," he placed his hands on her hips and steadied them as she rolled upwards making him lose his breath and feel his whole body shake but at that angle, with her beneath him, he had the sense and idea to copy her movements by grinding closer to her. Her body arched upwards as he ground slowly, the hitched breath she released turning him on even more.

"Toru!" she yelped as the contents of her stomach felt like it was being carefully rearranged by his impaling and yet she couldn't ask him to stop.

He smirked devilishly as she willed herself to rise and throw her hands around his shoulders, pausing briefly to settle her head on the crook of his neck as she caught her breath.

She was close.

Satoru fixed her hair and cupped her chin to embroider another set of deep kisses as he soothed her back. Her body was already unravelling beneath him but at the new position, he just knew by instinct that it could drive them both off the edge. He fixed the way they sat on the bed so Sachiko would be able to rest her legs in between his comfortably. He took initiative in creating a new angle for his entry and before she could brace herself, Satoru had glided his manhood inwardly, making her claw at his back as her whole body tightened around him. His hold on her remained light at first but soon concentrated on her hips. He began pumping upwards steadily, huffing in between as Sachiko felt that her throat had gone dry at the extra sensation he was able to elicit as he hit her sweet spot, "Sa-toruuuuu…ah-ah-ah!" her head was going blank and Satoru drew his inspiration to push even more from her lewd noises and the sound of skin against skin. He loved how soft she still felt and how warm she was as she tightened around him that he couldn't help but praise her, "Chi, god, you're so amazing, you make me feel so loved, you feel so good! I love this, I love us like this, let me make you feel loved too, okay?" he was cradling her neck now and drove his lips close to her ear so she could clearly catch his verbalizations and Sachiko could only nod as her whole body reacted to the intensity of his movements. She tried to follow his rhythm by rolling her own body against him but could only rock as much as she could and allow him to lead. She plunged her lips into his, moaning into his mouth that sent him vibrations with her whimpers of pleasure. Fingers and nails digging deep into his spine, almost clawing as she neared her release.

Satoru was grinning ear to ear as he absorbed her tremor against him, "Chi," he huffed, "Chi…"

His head read back with a stuttering sigh as she plunged herself to lower against him suddenly that soon pressure was building in his core. They continued molding into each others' bodies, breath continued to sharpen as their stomach tightened and they both flushed red.

Sachiko opened her eyes and gazed upon his blown pupils as they moved against each other with a little bit of haste and more intensity this time. She bit her lip to capture her moan but failed as Satoru shifted his hold from the small of her back and used the other to fondle her breasts. Satoru gritted his teeth as he felt her walls suddenly quiver into a close. He laid her back down and folded her legs for reentry, the thrust making her body bounce and jiggle as he ground against her, she raised her arms to call on him and it didn't take long for him to rest his temple on hers.

The coil in her stomach was preparing to erupt and Satoru mapped out a response from her as he could only pant with his more deepened thrusting, "TORU! SATORU!" she was already trembling and could only see white flecks of light as her whole body tensed around him. The wave of pleasure that overcome her senses struck her soul out of her form when he gave her one last thrust before she completely went into her high. Satoru continued to ride out her climax and was pleasantly surprised when Sachiko bit on his shoulder to hold off her screaming. The minimal pain brought about from her sharp Kitsune teeth held nothing in comparison to how her tightness and vibrations against his member felt. He twisted his torso to match the direction of her writhing and squirming and before she could finish to a calm, her legs wound tighter around his body that he couldn't help but groan so loud as he released the fire that built up in his core.

"S-ssachikooooooooo!" his whole body shook as he saw stars during his climax, his mouth fully open and eyes shut tight as the pressure slowly faded. He crashed beside her as he pulled out, a breathless wreck like his partner beside him but still felt the amazing sensation cover his entirety. The pulse was still there, and he automatically reached out to hold her and kiss her as the excitement died down. He looked at her fervently, reaching out to touch her blushing face, running his fingers over her features he had already imprinted in his head.

They finally made the kind of love that they each yearned for and deserved. They matched each other's paces, allowing themselves to appreciate each other's company. The intensity and the willingness to just savor the moment filled them with so much glee that Satoru just pressed on to memorize each and every detail of her. Sachiko, engraved the feeling of his warmth and tenderness each time he drew close. She never felt like it was his lust that pushed him to be a little aggressive with her, she only felt his passion which was mutually outpoured during their act.

It was lovely.

And meaningful.

That even if they had already finished, and he had covered the both of them under their covers, the euphoria lingered on.

Satoru lifted his head to angle into her mouth for a soft kiss, "I love you, Sachiko," he professed.

She allowed a tear to trickle down her face and settled to rest her head over his fast-beating heart, "I love you too, Satoru,"

They lay in each other's hold, with Sachiko just lost in the galaxy of his eyes, his careful stare that exuded only of a pure kind of love that was rare to see in others. It was comforting and beautiful and he felt equivocally unguarded yet safe as he looked upon the flames that danced in hers.

Satoru drew her close and kissed the crown of her head, "I am yours Sachiko, thank you for making this day count, with me,"

Sunrise couldn't come sooner for the couple. Admittedly, the time they spent in their orchestrations had left them with little time to delve into slumber before the sun's rays peeked through their blinds. Satoru could barely sleep because he couldn't resist watching and holding her in his arms to keep her warm and comforted after they made love. The thrill had a massive after effect on him and he wasn't sure if it was the benefit of being a special grade that kept his endurance up or his sheer volition to remain in a state of bliss that kept him awake.

It didn't take long for her fatigue to take over her body after their goodnight kiss and after a while, he was even able to clean them both up just so she would be more comfortable in his embrace.

He only drifted for a while to prepare himself for the morning arrangements but even as he opened his eyes, he checked to see if she was still peacefully resting her head on his arm and had her hand clasped around his back. His face lit up at the sight before him, a beautiful lady covered in nothing but their warm sheets, next to him, sleeping soundly. He kissed her temple and allowed his eyes to feast on her form for a little while longer. Checking to see if he had left rough marks that would need tending too but was relieved to see her just fine (despite the numerous love marks he placed in her body). He slowly lifted her head and replaced his arm with a pillow as he hesitantly rose from his side of the bed.

She shuffled from the shift in weight, a slight wince appeared in her expression but was soon diminished as he gave her one last kiss on her temple before dangling his legs to the side. He looked over his shoulder and reached out to tuck the blanket properly to keep her warm and pushed himself off the bed. He grabbed the towel he had used earlier to tidy and wrapped it around his waist, picking the clothes they had discarded making him pause and recall the heated event that occurred only a few hours before. His heart started pounding at the realization that Shouko's brand was finally considered invalid, and it became insanely surreal that he had just declared himself as the person who had bedded with his beloved Kitsune. He covered his blanched face with his hand, pulling down his grin to avoid being too cocky and too enthusiastic that he'd end up waking her, so he sped outside the door.

He heaved as he bent his knees to catch his breath, but the excitement didn't seem to have any intent of dampening that he had to rush to take a cold shower. It took him a few pauses in between his cleansing to do so properly as images of their subtle ravaging flashed through his brain. He had forgotten that he was washing away the evidence of their connection, but the smell of her hair lingered on as he opted to use her shampoo to lather. It was intoxicating and riveting to think that possibility of intimacy to find repetition was high.

The smile was plastered on his face like it was specifically molded to hold its form the entire the day that listing out the things he needed to do didn't seem like a chore. He was humming as he chose a robe for Sachiko to don when she woke up. He placed it beside her alongside a note he had handwritten signed with his ever so artistic self-portrait.

He proceeded to draw her bath. As he had learned, it was important for her to soothe not just her loins but her muscle and bones. He kept the water running as he chose the salts and the medicinal yet fragrant flowers that would help relax her whole form. Of course, as instructed, he included the extract from the buckwheat. He checked the water's temperature and spread the petals on it after wards aligning everything she might need from lather, sponge and the like.

He smiled with contentment as he kept the heater on and proceeded towards the kitchen to brew their tea. The instructions weren't special, but the significance of the tonic was, especially for Kitsunes.

He laid out the cups they would use to drink, a pair gifted to them by lady Kodansha last Christmas which made him smirk at the understanding of what it really meant.

He set the cups and the kettle of steeped buckwheat in the tray and proceeded to their bedroom. He knocked softly, "Chi? I'm coming in," he watched as she slowly opened her eyes to welcome her morning. Despite her dazed state, she managed a smile that spread across her face through half-lidded eyes. Satoru set the tray on their bedside and quickly approached to give her a kiss on her forehead. He grabbed the robe for her and cloaked it on her shoulders and peered away as she dropped the covers to fasten the robe around herself. She shyly fixed her hair to one side and couldn't look directly as she blushed at her state.

Satoru chuckled as he patted her crown, "Goodmorning my beautiful Sachiko,"

Sachiko placed one hand on his cheek and inhaled, "Morning, my Toru,"

Satoru quickly grabbed the cup and nervously handed the steaming buckwheat tea towards her, the feeling of warmth between her palms and the familiar scent made her melancholic and understanding of why he offered her such drink. He balanced his own cup in his own hands and gestured for them to drink at the same time and so they did.

Sachiko sipped the sweet and earthy tea and slowly awakened her senses. The hot liquid quickly invigorated her. The spiritual energy from the tonic slowly enveloped her form and eased a bit of the fatigue and soreness away just as promised by the teachings of her ancestors.

They drank the tea together until they finished their cup and he asked if she wanted some more. She told him she'd love to have a few more but asked if she could tidy first. He gestured to help her up from the bed. It was evident that there was still a bit of shock and discomfort from her tiredness from their act, "I drew you bath, take your time and come join me from breakfast after," he kissed her hand before allowing her some space to dip her tired body. The fresh scent of the concoction was admixed with milk that she instantly felt rejuvenated. She was surprised that Satoru had entered and offered to wash her hair. The feel of his fingers massaging her scalp made the moment seem so intimate that she couldn't help but feel so happy and relaxed in his hold.

The silhouette of her bodice floating under the water drew his gaze downward for a moment that his thoughts turned heated, of course to stray from giving in to his manly desires, he stood to give her the rest of her time alone and waited as she joined him for their meal.

The French toast and the candied strawberries were appetizing, and Sachiko kept on drinking her tea to keep herself alert and rested throughout their stay together.

Satoru couldn't help but inquire after a few moments after their casual chat over their brunch, "Chi-chan, are you okay? How are you feeling?" he sounded a little concerned, but she didn't seem to display any discomfort.

She smiled at him sweetly, "I'm alright. Just tired but I'm good, don't worry,"

He didn't reply and just kept on staring at her. Eyes going from her crown to her toes, deciphering if anything was amiss all the while trying to fight the vivid images in his head.

Sachiko was flustered at his heavy eyes that she blushed harshly, "S-stop staring, it's embarrassing…I told you it was my-"

Satoru grabbed her hand to a squeeze and gently smiled, "I've never been with anyone else as well and I hope to keep it that way,"

"You say it so casually,"

He laughed, "But I'm serious,"

"You better be," she squinted her doe-eyes at him as she took another sip from her tea.

He quickly turned to sit beside her and embraced her tightly, "I'm so happy Chi-chan, I love you so much…"

She hugged him back as she buried her burning face in his chest, "Me too Toru,"

"Chi? You should know that I could get quite jealous at times so, really, my overprotective nature could be smothering at first but that's only because I love you," he lifted her chin to gaze directly in her eyes with ferocity, "You're mine and only mine, okay Chi? I am yours and yours alone,"

She laughed at his declaration but conceded, of course she couldn't leave it as it is without a snide remark herself, "I appreciate your loyalty and you should keep it that way my love, or else, I'll," she cocked a brow and smirked, "Rip it off…"

They both returned to the bedroom to tidy and change their sheets but before they could remove the covers, Satoru took it upon himself to sit on the bed. A crack broke their quiet and soon, one of the bed's legs broke making the both of them jump up and exchange surprised glances. He cackled as he hooked one arm over her shoulder and grinned, "Looks like we're gonna need to replace that with a sturdier one," he looked up and watched as Sachiko's face turn red at his insinuation making her dart her eyes away from him.

He gently caressed her face to call on her attention in an attempt to make things light. Despite being intimate the night before, she couldn't help but still feel a little edgy around her, "Ah, I j-just meant a bigger bed so we can be more comfortable when we sleep together," she turned her back on him now to hide her crimson, heated face.

Satoru croaked and exhaled in defeat, "There's no saving me now," he took a deep breath and laced his arms around Sachiko's waist, "Don't worry about anything. Sorry about my stupid mouth," she gave him a silent nod as she buried her face in her palms to which Satoru could only reply by resting his head on her shoulders and kissed her crown, "Now, now, it's just a bed. The rest…can follow,"

She relaxed her muscles and leaned on him, "Mm-hm,"

Satoru cleared her hair that was blocking her cheek and gave it a gentle kiss before tightening his hold. He allowed his breath to prick the side of her exposed neck making her quiver. He nuzzled his nose on the crook of her neck and took in her scent before letting his lips brush on her bare skin which instantly turned rouge, "Just remember that I'm the only one you can share it with…" he said seductively.

This made her laugh, "Engrave that in your mind too,"

He grinned but did not let go of his hold as he whispered "I'll always be patient with you. That's not gonna change, okay?"

She shifted her position so she could rest her head on his hard chest, "Okay,"

He let his fingers trace the side of her face as he caressed it, the trailing sending her shivers with the friction he created, "But if you want to, I'll always be happy to indulge," his serious expression transformed into that happy-smug one she loved to pinch or smack. She wasn't sure if he was kidding but it was enough for her scoff and quickly think of a way to get back at him.

She wrapped her arms behind his neck and stood on her toes as she pulled him into a deep kiss. She was careful as she molded her lips onto his and slowly slid her tongue to massage Satoru's, the aggressive movements of her mouth pushing him to get lightheaded as she pressed for a more torrid pace, but before he could react, she released him and flicked his warm and red temple hard, "Easy Six-eyes,"

Then she grabbed the linens and threw the pillow on his face as she proceeded to tidy up their room and left her half-aroused, half-disappointed lover to wilt beside her.

December 15, 2015

A few days after they first made love, they had spent the rest of their vacation nestled inside their apartment. It didn't surprise Sachiko that she'd receive a specific request in the middle of her retreat and Satoru knew it was a serious one.

"I've gotten a new assignment abroad," she set down her phone on the table, making Satoru pause his dinner.

He scratched the side of his face and reached out to hold her hand, "Maybe I should go with you this time,"

"Don't be silly, Gakuganji and the higher-ups would raise a fit if both of us are gone,"

Satoru wiped his face out of frustration and hissed, "Screw the higher-ups!

Sachiko moved her chair closer to him and rubbed the side of his undercut to loosen the knots that were forming as display appeared on his face, "I want you to come too but, our kids…and our families, need someone-"

Satoru's frown disappeared and transformed into an audaciously smug expression that he couldn't help but clap his hands and point at her, "HA! You're calling them our kids now!"

She nervously retaliated despite her ears turning crimson, "Well, you started it! Anyway, you know what I mean!"

Satoru hugged her now, "I know Chi," he soothed her back and kissed her cheek and went to whisper suggestively, "And hey, now, who knows, we can actually make our own kid now…that we-"

Sachiko scrunched up his hair and created distance, "STOP IT!"

Satoru snorted as he playfully pinched her cheek, "That does nothing to lower my desire you know…anyway, just kidding love. How about this then, when you get back, I'll be here,"

She rolled her eyes, "Well, you better,"

Satoru rubbed his nape, "No I mean, how about, I live here too?"

Her eyes widened in surprise, "You, want to move in?"

"Yeah, I mean, is that okay? I'd feel better if we're both in one place, I mean there's gonna be some adjustments I know, and we have to go to and from places but living together makes sense to me,"

"Um,"

"Listen Chi, I intend on living with you forever," he took both of her hands and laced his fingers on hers and smiled, "I know Shoko already told you about," he paused to laugh nervously, "My meetings with your grandfather but, knowing how crazy things are, I can't help but agree with him to wait but, my intentions will never change,"

She felt the butterfly in her stomach fly unpredictably, "Satoru I-"

He grinned and raised his index finger towards her, "BUT! I'm not proposing yet, I will but I'll be damned if this is the way it goes, you know I like to make a big spectacle of it so-I understand that you want to settle with how things are for a while. I just thought that I'd take a chance still, you know me. I'll sleep better with you beside me,"

Sachiko sighed then nodded, "Then, wait for me, at home then. Our home,"

"Really?"

"Yes,"

He pulled her into a tight hug and began peppering her with kisses, "Thank you Sachiko. When you get back, I'll make sure our place is brand new!"

"Don't get rid of Tsukamoto while I'm gone, okay?" she warned.

He groaned, "Fine,"

Her eyes landed softly on his as she placed both hands behind his nape, "Satoru? Thank you for being my person,"

"Who else would I be for Chi?"

She smiled.

He gave her a soft kiss on the lips, "When will you be needed?"

"In two weeks,"

He pursed his lips and proceeded to lift her off from her chair into a bridal hold, surprising her as he ushered them out of the kitchen, "Well then, let's make each moment count,"

Her heart beat fast at his suggestion. They have been having very spirited activities all over their apartment as soon as the buckwheat took effect. It became natural for him to ask if she wanted to be intimate with him but it didn't come before he always asked about her well-being. She reassured that the buckwheat was aiding her recovery but was still grateful that he was considerate of her health.

Still, their passionate exchanges only became more thoughtful, and they both loved every minute of it. It was rare for them to be given a vacation and they intended to make the most of it in each other's hold. He was always thoughtful and careful with each move and each touch and that only made Sachiko fall more deeply in love with him that she always made efforts to show him much she entrusted herself to him.

It was quite an experience for them that opened many possibilities for their future, and they couldn't help but whisper sweet nothings, praises and grateful words each time they had connected and reached their high.

Their bed would never grow cold now. Embraces would always be welcomed, and they had vowed to only be for each other and keep that kind of loyalty for the rest of their days.

When they had finished, Satoru pulled on the sheets to keep her body warm as she lay next to him but continued to ogle at her figure.

Sachiko noticed his stare and asked, "Wh-what's the matter?" she said, her cheeks angrily flushed as she still recovered from her climax.

Satoru gave her a loving look as he shook his head, "Nothing…you're so beautiful…I can't believe your mine,"

Sachiko traced the side of his jaw and swooned, "Of course, you'd say that, I'm wearing nothing next to you," she quickly lifted her eyes away from him and covered half of her face with the blanket urging Satoru to laugh and draw her closer against his sweaty body, "It's the truth Chi. Anyway, thank you…"

"For what?" she asked curiously.

Satoru kissed her nose, "For making love to me and allowing me to make love to you,"

Her mouth twitched upwards, "Ahh which one of us the girl?" she said embarrassed.

"You can thank me too," he made a toothy grin as he looked at her up and down again making her draw back the covers he slightly pull down.

"Ah, stop it!"

Satoru stroke a pose in jest, "Please Chi, you can look as much as you want to," he teased.

She covered her face making Satoru pull her head to rest on his chest, "Alright, sorry, no more teasing, so, I'll go and draw us a bath," he kissed her shoulder and readied to lift himself from the bed. Sachiko followed his movement offered to get new sheets, all the while buttoning herself up with his long shirt to cover her form.

"I don't think we'll need new sheets," he teased, earning him a snide snarl.

He laughed as he grabbed her waist and forced her to sit on his lap. Satoru embraced her gently, kissing her nape and her shoulder and taking in everything she would allow, her warmth, her scent, her presence, that she felt like her chest was about to burst.

There was sweetness and thoughtfulness in the way he held her and the type of happiness he was able to share with her something that only came from him.

Pure love.

Selfless devotion.

Days spent in the security of their home was something she wished she could escape to at any moment in time. She loved him so deeply that she felt like any short disengagement would rattle her whole existence but one small gesture from him, one soft-spoken word and she could unwind and feel like he was with her always. She turned to grasp the side of his face and went on to his kiss cheek. The warmth from her moistened lips pricked his equally feverish skin that the fire inside of them grew. He smiled at her lovingly, closing his eyes to savor the embodiment that held the perfect half of his soul.

And he knew, in that moment, there was nothing else that he needed.

Perhaps, he truly was, the honored one.

After all, if the gods didn't listen to him, why would they ever give him Miura Sachiko?

His greatest blessing?
