Weeks seemed to whisper away into months.

Before Harriet realized how much time had passed, she found herself standing in a dressing room with Ginny and Hermione as they helped her into a wedding gown.

Father Raven and Mother Hen's union had been thoughtfully planned with the intention of keeping the event small and intimate.

Severus and Harriet were not showy people, a pompous affair of flash and publicity wouldn't suit either of them.

The bride and groom were a rare couple due to the fact that they were more interested in their commitment to each other rather than the actual wedding itself.

Harriet's closest friends had been invited, along with Professor McGonagall, Severus's mother, Eileen, the Malfoys, and the majority of Hogwarts' staff.

Although many had been shocked to receive their invitations, Severus and Harriet had been proud that no one had declined to attend.

Father Raven and Mother Hen's nuptials were held inside Hogwarts' castle, with the Great Hall designated for that very occasion on that summer day.

There weren't many who enjoyed the privilege of using the castle for their private parties, but a few uncommon luxuries came with being the Chosen One and the current headmaster.

The castle was largely vacant during the summer, which meant that it could easily accommodate a small event for an hour or two.

While Severus anxiously waited at the front of the Great Hall for Harriet to arrive and their wedding to begin, he looked over the handful of people in attendance and then beyond them at the tables that had already been outfitted for the reception that was to immediately follow.

Severus gladly anticipated publicly taking Harriet as his, but he was impatient to get the wedding over with and move onto the honeymoon.

Social occasions were not Severus's preferred environment and knowing that there was an isolated, cozy cabin waiting for him and his mate where they could kiss, make love, and cuddle Lily together for an uninterrupted week filled him with eager excitement.

The wedding attendees chatted politely with each other and glanced over at Severus while they all waited on the bride.

The news that Severus and Harriet were a couple had been enough of a surprise in itself, the news that Harriet and Severus had a child together had taken some members of the wizarding world a while to process.

Lily cooed at her father from her place on her grandmother's lap.

His black eyes softened as his gaze flickered over to his little girl.

Severus watched his mother bend down and kiss Lily right on her fluffy little patches of red hair as she laughed.

The gentle sound of his happy child soothed Severus's nerves more than he would willingly admit.

"You're going to have to lean on Ginny and take a deep breath in." Hermione instructed Harriet.

Her amber eyes narrowed in a scowl as she stood behind the bride and considered the likelihood of fastening her friend's wedding dress.

Ginny smiled as she helpfully let Harriet drape her arms around her shoulders.

Harriet inhaled deeply while Hermione worked on the buttons of the dress that barely reached around her body.

"Honestly, Harriet, you should have told the tailor to let it out a bit more." Hermione chastised, "When were you last fitted?"

"Two weeks ago." Harriet whispered while she held her breath.

"Alright, you can breathe..." Hermione instructed as she finished with the last button, "...But gently! One wrong inhale and you'll come bursting out! You should have been fitted two days ago, Harriet! Honestly!"

After Hermione managed to fasten the dress, Harriet let go of Ginny and drew a breath to discover exactly how deeply she could inhale.

Her friends watched her closely as she laid a cautious hand on the very slight swell of her belly that had caused such a problem with fitting into her tight gown.

"I didn't expect to show this quickly." Harriet confessed while she sighed as best she could.

"Perhaps it's twins this time." Ginny said with a teasing grin.

"Let's hope not!" Harriet laughed as Hermione reached over and handed her a bouquet of red roses and white lilies.

The wizarding world had been surprised to learn about Mother Raven and Father Hen's love for each other, yes, but Mother Hen and Father Raven had been surprised to find that after the first heat cycle they had spent together as mates, they already had another fledgling on the way.

Severus stood in awe of his lover.

From the moment that Harriet entered the Great Hall in her beautiful gown of cascading lace and elegant silk, Severus couldn't take his eyes away from her figure or her emerald stare.

It was Mother Hen's green eyes that Father Raven gazed into as he promised to love her and protect her until the end of his days and it was Mother Hen's emerald eyes that Father Raven kept staring into while she promised to do the same for him.

Mr. and Mrs. Snape's first kiss as husband and wife felt magical.

Their lips pressed together and their eyes closed as the wedding attendees applauded approvingly behind them.

Although Harriet hadn't widely advertised her second pregnancy, Severus couldn't resist laying one of his elegant hands over the subtle bulge of the telltale swell.

He didn't leave Harriet's side once during the reception.

Severus held baby Lily in his right arm and kept his left hand on Harriet's back while they mingled with their guests.

The party ran a bit long for Severus's taste, but soon enough, he and Harriet were walking out of the castle to head towards their frozen destination for the duration of their honeymoon.

The remote cabin that Severus had rented for the week was hidden in a valley shrouded by thick snow and looming mountain tops in a distant land from Britain.

Despite the summer warmth that he and Harriet had left behind, Mr. and Mrs. Snape spent their first week of married life in front of a crackling fireplace, surrounded by warm furs and thick fabrics.

Severus and Harriet took full advantage of the opportunity to make love every time that Lily decided to have a nap.

Their daughter went to bed mercifully early each night and since she had transitioned to some solid foods, Severus found that more and more of Harriet's milk was left for his enjoyment.

Harriet had made a delightfully cozy nest for herself and her family, on the four-postered bed in that little cabin.

Lily enjoyed cuddling with her mother and father in the many layers of softness.

Severus delighted in seeing Harriet's nails rake through the fluff as he bent her over and claimed her as his own.

Nothing topped the experience though, or the bliss that Severus knew, when Harriet fell asleep on his chest with Lily cradled in her arms.

Father Raven would wrap his little family in his embrace and feel his emotions glow as warmly as the summer sun while he looked at his mate, his daughter, and his unborn pup.

The heart-breaking tenderness that radiated in his dark eyes was touching to witness.

Harriet escaped the health issues that she had encountered during her first pregnancy.

After she and Severus returned from their honeymoon, she carried a smile on her lips and a blush on her cheeks, along with the baby inside of her belly.

A week before classes at Hogwarts resumed, Harriet bid her small cottage goodbye as she and Severus loaded the very last of their belongings into a magical trunk that fit easily within the grasp of a hand.

The furniture, Lily's things, their clothes…...everything easily shrank and fit inside the weightless object.

Moving residences was not a complicated struggle in the magical world.

Harriet looked forward to spending the next few months setting up her new nest and welcoming Severus's next pup, but she still felt a pang of bittersweet sadness stab at her heart as she took one last look at the room that she and Severus had first shared together.

Harriet turned her head when she heard a gentle sound from the doorway.

A soft smile lit up her face when she saw Severus staring at her with Lily in his arms.

"...Are you ready, Mother Hen?" Severus asked as his dark gaze moved questioningly from Harriet's face down to her rounded belly.

Mother Hen.

It was a running sentiment between Severus and Harriet, to continue addressing each other using the same nicknames that had been issued in their letters before Lily's, or fledgling's, birth.

"I am, Father Raven." Harriet answered her husband with a soft smile.

Harriet walked over and let Lily gently grab her face as she kissed her baby's cheek.

Severus frowned for a moment as he impatiently waited his turn.

When Lily let go, Harriet smiled up at Severus and sweetly pressed her lips against his as his slender hand moved down to her middle just in time to feel the slight motion that echoed from within her womb.
