Meanwhile, back in Malibu, Pepper had called Rhodey to see if Tony was with him. When Rhodey told him that he wasn't and Pepper explained that there was no trace of Tony, Rhodey rushed over to Tony's house.

"What do you mean there's no trace of Tony?"

"Just that, JARVIS said that Tony got up early this morning, got dressed then vanished into thin air. He's been gone for several hours," Pepper explained.

"Maybe he went out drinking?"

"No, all of his cars are here, and there's no footage of Tony ever leaving his room. He vanished Rhodey, and I don't know how."

Just then, the fireplace in the living room roared to life, and a green flame erupted. Pepper screamed, and Rhodey pulled out his gun and put himself between Pepper and the fireplace. A second later, Tony comes shooting out of the fireplace, sliding across the marble floor. He sat up and rubbed his head, "Holy shit, that was awful; I think I like the portkey better."

Rhodey lowers his weapon, and Pepper peeked around him then rushed towards Tony, helping him stand up. "Tony! Oh my God, what happened? Why did the fire in the fireplace turn green? Why did you come shooting out of it? How are you not burned? What's going on?!"

Tony laughed, "One question at a time, Pepper, I'll explain everything. Oh, hey, Honey Bear, what are you doing here?"

"What do you mean, what am I doing here? You were missing! Where else would I be?"

"Aw, thanks for caring, Platypus, but I'm fine."

"Tones, you have a lot of explaining to do."

"Right, well, pack your bags, we're going to England. I'm getting married!"

"WHAT?!" Pepper and Rhodey said at the same time.

"Perhaps I should explain," Came a muffled voice from inside the bag on the floor.

Pepper looked around, "Tony, who said that?"

"Oh, right, I have a lot of things to explain to you, but first help me take this painting down, Rhodey."

"Why?"

"Just help me," Tony said as he picked up the bag and walked towards the wall, and grabbed one side of the giant painting. Rhodey sighed and held the other side. Carefully they took the picture down.

"I hope he likes it here."

"Who," Pepper asked.

"My great, great, great grandfather."

Pepper and Rhodey looked at each other confused.

"Tony, what are you-"

"Hold that thought, Pep."

Tony grabbed his bag and put his arm inside the small bag. Pepper and Rhodey gapped as they watched Tony's arm disappear inside the bag. Tony rooted around for a bit until his hand came into contact with the picture frame of his grandfather. He heaved the large portrait out of the bag until it was entirely out.

Tony then carried it towards the wall and hung it up. He straightened the frame then stood back, "How's that, Gramps?"

Pepper and Rhodey looked at each other then at Tony as if he had gone insane. Their eyes widened when they got a good look at the painting, "My God, Tony; he looks exactly like you."

Pepper suddenly squeaked, and she and Rhodey jumped back when the portrait of Tony's grandfather blinked then smiled at her, "Thank you very much, Young Lady. I must say that my grandson is my spitting image and quite handsome if I do say so myself."

Pepper covered her mouth as not to scream, "Tony, that picture talked."

"Uh, huh."

Rhodey looked at Tony as if he was insane, "What kind of psychedelic drugs are pumping in the air, Tones? Pictures don't talk."

"I beg to differ, Young Man, as you can see, I most certainly do talk. Grandson, who are these people?"

"Oh, sorry, Pops, this is Pepper Potts, my assistant, and close friend. And this is James Rhodes, my best friend."

Lord Carbonelle inclined his head, "It is a pleasure to meet you both; I am Lord Anthony Carbonelle. Tony's many times over grandfather."

"Tony, How is the painting talking?" Pepper whispered.

"Magic, Ms. Potts," Lord Carbonelle explained.

"I don't understand."

"I come from a long line of wizards and witches, guys. Surprise." Tony said, holding his arms out.

"What the hell are you talking about? Is this some kind of joke? JARVIS, are you making the picture talk?"

**No, Colonel Rhodes and my scans show no logical reason for the painting to be able to speak. I can only conclude that what Sir said could be accurate at this time.**

Rhodey shook his head, "Okay, wait. You're telling me that this guy in the painting is your great, great, great grandfather and that he's a wizard from your mom's side of the family. If that's true, why aren't you a wizard?"

Tony grinned at his best friend, "I am. But my mom had my magic bound because of Howard. She never told him she was a witch. Can you imagine what he would have done if he had known?"

Rhodey thought for a moment then nodded, "Okay, I can understand that."

"And that is something that you still have to explain to me, Anthony," Lord Carbonelle.

"Tony, Granddad."

"Not when you're in trouble."

Tony blushed when Rhodey and Pepper snickered.

"I promise I'll explain, but first you have to explain to them why I'm getting married."

"Ah, yes, of course. There is a marriage contract that Tony must fulfill since he is my only living grandson."

"You're joking," Pepper said.

"No, of course not. The contract stipulates that the firstborn son of House Carbonelle marries the firstborn daughter of House Potter. And House Potter has never had a girl child until now. Since Tony is my only living relative, he must fulfill the contract."

"Why would make the contract," Rhodey asked.

"To unite the power of two great houses. And I was great friends with Lord Potter, and it was something we wanted."

"What about your children? What if they didn't want to," Pepper asked.

"They would lose their magic. We entered into a magical contract. It would be their choice; whoever broke the contract would lose their magic."

"Then, why are you doing this, Tony, if your mom bound your magic," Rhodey asked.

"I wasn't going to until I met the asshole that wanted to force his son on Jasmine, that's her name, by the way. Jasmine Potter-Black. All he wanted was her money, and I couldn't let that happen. So here I am, engaged to be married."

"Are you sure you want to go through with this, Tony? I'm sure there's something we can do for her to avoid her marrying that man's son." Pepper offered.

"Unfortunately, there's nothing a No-Maj can do to help, Ms. Potts," Lord Carbonelle said.

"No-Maj?"

"Non-magicals. Hey, it's better than what the British call you," Tony said.

"What do they call us," Rhodey said.

"Muggles."

"Yeah, the other one does sound better," Pepper answered, "Okay, so when are you getting married?"

"In three days."

"What?! That doesn't give me enough time to plan a wedding! What are we going to say to the press?"

"Don't worry, Pep; I'm getting married in the Magical World. The press won't find out until after. Only magicals can go, but since you guys are like my family, you can go to my wedding."

"Really?" Pepper asked.

"Well, yeah. You and Rhodey are the closest thing I have to family, so of course, I want you there. And Happy too. Where is he anyway?"

**Mr. Hogan is running some errands; Sir.** JARVIS informed Tony.

"Well, we're going to have to inform him about what's going on."

"What about Obadiah," Pepper asked.

Tony thought for a moment, "No, I love the man, but I don't think he'd understand. It would freak him out too much. We'll tell him that it was a spontaneous decision."

Pepper nodded and started making notes on her stark pad, "Are you going to get wedding rings," She asked.

Tony looked at the painting; Lord Carbonelle nodded, "It's not customary, but I don't see why not. But, before you do that, you need to get your dress robes."

"Dress robes?"

"Yes, formal wizarding robes. I'm sure you would prefer to wear a No-Maj suit, but I think it would be better to wear wizarding robes."

Tony scrunched his nose, "Don't tell me they look like the ones I saw that idiot Malfoy was wearing."

Anthony's lip curled in disgust, "Merlin, no, I think the ones in America would be more modern. You only need to send a note to the goblins and ask them where the magical district is here in California, and we shall go."

"We? You want me to take your painting with me?"

Anthony smirked, "The Carbonelle's magic is more powerful than most, and there is a spell that I have been waiting to do for a long time, Tony."

Lord Carbonelle mumbled a spell, then took a deep breath and walked out of his painting, making everyone stumble back, "How the hell did you do that?!"

"Magic, Grandson. It is a family spell. I invented it a long time ago that only works for me. As long as I return to my portrait every night, I can come out of it whenever I want. I was only waiting for you to show up. How did you think I was going to teach you magic?"

"Oh, um, I didn't think of it," Tony said.

**Sir, an intruder, has entered the house.**

"It's alright, JARVIS, it's only my grandfather."

**You don't have a grandfather, sir.**

"I do now, J. JARVIS, I would like you to meet my ancestor Lord Anthony Carbonelle."

There was a pause, then JARVIS finally answered, **It is a pleasure to meet you, Lord Carbonelle.**

"The pleasure is mine. Forgive me but are you a ghost?"

"There are ghosts?" Rhodey asked

Lord Carbonelle stared at Rhodey, "Right, of course, there are."

**No, sir, I am an AI, artificial intelligence.**

Anthony looked at Tony, confused, "I'll explain later."

"It seems there are many things you need to explain to me. Perhaps if you let me look into your mind, it would be easier," Anthony asked.

"You can do that?"

"Quite easily, and after I do that, I will teach you how to shield your mind so no one else can do that to you."

"Will it hurt?"

"If I force my way in, yes, if you let me, no. But I will not force you. You can decide later," Anthony told Tony.

"Yeah, let me think about it."

Anthony inclined his head, "Now a note to the goblins. A sheet of parchment, please, Tony."

"Um, I have paper?"

"That's fine."

Pepper went and got a piece of paper for Lord Carbonelle and handed it to him. Tony gave him a pen, and he looked at it, confused until Tony clicked it for him. Anthony smiled, "Clever."

He wrote the note to the goblins then walked to the fireplace. He took a handful of floo powder, threw it into the fireplace, announced where he wanted the letter to go, and threw it into the fire. A few moments later, Anthony received a response. He read the message then handed it to Tony, who read it as well, "I know where this is. Let's get you some new clothes and then head out."

Anthony looked at his robes then at Tony. He waved his hand over himself, and his clothes changed to look like Tony's only in dark grey. Rhodey and Pepper's mouths fell open, and Tony smiled, "That was cool. Can I do that?"

"You will eventually. Now am I appropriately dressed?"

"Yep, let's get going. You guys want to come," Tony asked.

"Hell yeah, we want to go!" Rhodey exclaimed.

"Alright, as soon as Happy gets here, will go."

"Where are we going," Pepper asked.

"Sunset Alley," Anthony said.

"Never heard of it."

"Of course not; it's magical."

Rhodey rolled his eyes. Anthony appraised Rhodey for a moment then nodded, "You will also need dress robes, young man, even if you are a No-Maj. And please get a formal dress, Ms. Potts. I will pay, of course."

Tony looked at his grandfather, "No, I'll pay."

"No, I shall pay."

Rhodey leaned towards Pepper and whispered, "They're exactly alike," Pepper nodded.

A few moments later, JARVIS announced that Happy had arrived, and he came into the house. Tony smiled at Happy, "Great; you're here; we can go now. Happy, I want you to meet my grandfather, Anthony Carbonelle."

"I didn't know you had a grandfather."

"I do now. Let's go. I'll give you the address on the way, and I have some stuff to explain."

"Okay."

They got into the car, and Tony gave Happy the address. As Happy drove, Tony explained everything that happened and that he was going to invite him to his wedding. Happy didn't say anything until Tony finished his story.

"Are you sure this guy isn't lying, Mr. Stark?"

"Happy, we all saw him walk out of the portrait; he's not lying. Lord Anthony Carbonelle is my ancestor, and I am a wizard."

"Okay, then."

"That's all you're going to say," Pepper asked.

"Yeah."

"I know you don't believe me, Happy, but you'll see when we get to our destination," Tony said.

When they arrived at their destination, Tony Happy to park a little further down the street, "We'll walk."

Happy nodded and did exactly what Tony said. They all got out and walked to a decrepit old thrift store. Tony looked at it in awe, and Anthony smiled. The others looked at them as if they were insane, "That's it?" Rhodey asked.

"Tony, put your hand on your friend's shoulder."

Tony did as his grandfather said, and Rhodey's mouth fell open. In front of him stood a beautiful Victorian building with a sign that read 'Welcome to Sunset Alley.'

"Wow."

Pepper and Happy looked at each other confused until Anthony touched their shoulders. Their eyes widen at the sight, and they looked at the man standing behind them, "Are you telling me no one else can see that who isn't magical," Happy asked.

"Could you until I touched your shoulder?"

"Why is no one going into the thrift store?"

"There is a No-Maj repellant spell around it. Mundanes do not find it interesting," Anthony explained, "Now, let us go inside."

They walked into the 'thrift store' and made their way to the counter, "Good day, young lady, this is our first visit to Sunset Alley. Could you show us in?"

The young lady smiled at Anthony, "Of course, sir. This way, please. Next time you only need to use your wand to open the entrance."

Anthony nodded and told Tony to pay attention to the pattern. The young lady pulled out her wand and tapped the wall in a specific way, and a door appeared. She opened the door for them and welcomed them to Sunset Alley. Anthony and Tony thanked her, and she smiled at them. The group walked in, and the door disappeared behind them. The group looked around in awe; they were amazed at what they saw. It was like they stepped back in time. The streets were bustling with wizards, witches, and their children. The children were dressed usually, but the adults were dressed in suits and dresses from the 1920s. The women were wearing flapper dresses while the men were wearing zoot suits and fedora hats. Tony loved it; it was better than what he saw in Diagon Alley.

"Alright, the first thing we need to do is find the robe shop and have your suits made, then you children can explore the alley," Anthony said, "Ms. Potts, I recommend you also get a dress to fit in with our culture. Though it is different from the British Wizarding World, they will know that you are from America," Anthony explained.

Pepper nodded, "I would love to get a dress."

"Good."

Anthony asked a wizard where the robes shop was, and he pointed it out to him. The group made their way to the shop and went in, "Good morning, young lady, how are you?"

The young lady turned and smiled at her new customers. "Good morning; how can I help you?"

"My grandson is getting married in three days, and he needs a suit as well as his friends. He will be getting married in England."

"Ah, do you want dress robes from there or here?" She asked.

Anthony looked at Tony to make sure he wanted an American suit, "No, I want to represent my American roots. A suit from here, please."

"No problem…"

"Stark, Tony Stark."

"No problem, Mr. Stark. Let me get some of the girls from the back so that we can get yours and your friends' measurements, and we'll get started."

The young lady disappeared into the back, and four more girls came out. They had everyone stand on stools so that they could take their measurements. The girls pulled out their wands and began waved them at Tony and the others. Tape measures appeared and began to take their measurements. While they did that, Ms. Sassy, the shop owner, began to show Tony patterns of the type of wedding suits he could choose from. Tony picked a black suit with a silver tie and silver pocket-handkerchief.

"It isn't common to have a best man in British weddings, Mr. Stark, but since you are an American, you can insist on it."

"Okay, I would like Rhodey to be my best man."

"Alright, then we will make his suit match yours and Lord Carbonell as well since he is your grandfather. Mr. Hogan's will be a different color. Now, Ms. Potts, I think you'll like this."

Miss Sassy showed Pepper a Nude 1920s chiffon flapper dress with a tiered skirt. Pepper smiled and agreed, "Will all this be ready in three days," Pepper asked.

Ms. Sassy laughed, "Ms. Potts, this order will be ready in three hours."

"Really?"

"Yes, of course."

"That's cool," Tony said.

"Indeed. Why don't you all explore the Alley and come back in three hours."

Tony nodded, and as soon as their fitting was over, the group thanked the seamstresses and left the shop. They made their way through the streets of Sunset Alley, looking at all the shops. Rhodey, Pepper, and Happy were in awe at the shops' names, and Rhodey stopped abruptly when he saw a broom shop.

"Are you serious? A broom shop as in a flying broom?"

"Of course, why would we have a store selling brooms for sweeping," Anthony asked.

Rhodey rolled his eyes, "You sound just like Tony."

"You mean he sounds like me," Anthony said with a smirk.

Tony huffed, "Can we go inside? Jasmine didn't let me look at the one in England, so I'd like to check this one out and buy one. I'd like to run some tests on it."

"Of course, Grandson, it would be an honor to buy you your first broom," Anthony said with a mocking smile.

Tony huffed and walked past his grandfather, "Rhodey's right; we are alike."

"The apple does not fall far from the tree."

They walk into the shop and see that it's larger on the inside than outside, "How is that possible," Pepper asked.

"Magic."

"Right, I keep forgetting."

They begin to wander around the shop, looking at a variety of brooms. Rhodey called Tony over when he found the kiddie brooms. Tony laughed when he saw the picture of the child riding around a few inches of the ground with the parent running behind them.

"I wonder how they keep them from hurting themselves."

"Cushioning charms," Anthony said as he came up behind the two men.

"That makes sense."

They continued to look at the brooms and noticed that there were many broom companies and styles. Some were for beginners, and there were some for professionals. Tony was instantly drawn to the professional brooms. He read the information of the Firebolt Supreme and decided that that was the one he wanted. But Tony's grandfather had other ideas.

"I know what you're thinking, Tony, and you cannot jump onto a professional broom and expect to survive. You need to work your way up to it. I suggest we buy several. We'll start with the Cleansweep then work our way up from there."

Tony looked at his grandfather, disappointed, "Do we have to?"

"It would be wiser."

Rhodey chuckled, "Anthony, Tony may be one of the smartest people in the world, but he isn't known for his wisdom."

"Fortunately, I am, James. We start with a Cleansweep, Anthony, and there will be no argument."

Looking properly chastised, Tony agreed. But Lord Carbonelle couldn't resist. He bought Tony a Comet and a Nimbus 2008. Anthony decided that he would ward the Nimbus so Tony couldn't use it until he was ready.

Tony was like a child on Christmas when he saw his grandfather pick out two more brooms. It wasn't the one he wanted, but at least the Nimbus was fast. Lord Carbonelle got a pair of each broom so that he could fly with Tony as well. They went to the counter and paid for the brooms. After that, he shrank them down and asked Pepper to hold them in her purse.

They left the store and went to the Quadpot and Quidditch store, where they bought the equipment for both sports, and they would decide later which sports Tony enjoyed more. When they left the Quadpot shop, Tony spotted a jewelry store and decided that maybe he should go in and get a wedding ring for Jasmine, but Anthony stopped him.

"It would be best if you gave your fiancée a family heirloom. Come, we will go to Gringotts and pick out a ring from the vault."

"And the others?"

"We'll have them meet us at Flourish and Blotts."

"Alright."

Tony and Anthony informed the others that they were going to the bank and looking around the alley while they were gone. Anthony reached into the sack of galleons he had with him and gave each of them a handful, "Go, enjoy yourselves. Tony and I must go to the bank. We shall meet you at the book shop. Ah, while you are there, I suggest that you get two books that will help you. A book on the British and American Wizarding World customs. You'll find them quite different."

"We can't accept this money," Pepper said.

"You can, and you will accept the money. I will not accept any arguments."

"Yep, they're exactly alike," Pepper whispered to Rhodey and Happy.

"Come along, Grandson."

Tony smiled; he was enjoying being treated like a child, "Coming Granddad."

The two men walked toward Gringotts; they stopped and nodded at the goblin guard, then entered the bank. When Anthony and Tony reached the teller, Anthony inclined his head, "Good afternoon, Master Goblin, may your enemies all fall at your feet. I am Lord Carbonelle"

The Goblin recognized the old greeting of the Italian Wizarding World and the name of one of the Ancient and Most Noble Houses. He too inclined his head, "Good afternoon, Lord Carbonelle. May your vaults overflow with gold."

Tony paid close attention to the greeting. He noticed that to greet a goblin, you complimented them on their warring prowess, "Master Goblin, this is my grandson, Anthony Stark."

The goblin's eyes widen. They knew who Tony was; they had invested heavily in his company before for individual clients. Tony followed his grandfather's example, "Good Afternoon, Master Goblin, may your enemies die a thousand times over."

The goblin smiled, showing his sharp teeth, "Good afternoon Mr. Stark, may your gold overflow and your company continue to prosper."

Tony tilted his head, "You know who I am?"

"Of course, we have invested in your company."

"Thank you for your confidence. Master Goblin."

"Now, what can I do for you, gentlemen?"

"We need to get into the family vault in Italy. May we access it from this bank," Lord Carbonelle asked.

"Of course, Lord Carbonelle. I will have someone escort you to your vault."

"Thank you very much."

The goblin waved over another goblin, and he led Anthony and Tony to the cart and rode down to their vault. When they arrived, Anthony told Tony to use his blood. Tony pricked his finger, and the vault opened. It was the same vault that Tony went into in England. "I should have had you take a few trunks as well, Tony. But books are more important."

Anthony walked in and told Tony to grab more gold while he looked at the trunks. After finding the trunks that he wanted Tony to take, Anthony shrunk them down and put them into his pocket. He then walked towards the other side of the wall and put his palm against it. Pushing his magic into the secret panel, it opened, revealing the Carbonelle family jewels.

"Tony, come over here."

Tony walked towards his grandfather and looked at the jewels that were on display, "Wow, these are the nicest pieces of jewelry I have ever seen."

"I'm glad you like them. Now, for you fiancée, I suggest these."

Anthony took a flower-shaped diamond ring with sapphires on either side, then a diamond wedding band in white gold, "These belonged to your grandmother. She had a simple taste, and I believe Lady Potter does as well. It would make me very happy if you used them at your wedding."

Tony got choked up, and his eyes started to mist up, "It would be my honor, Granddad."

Anthony hugged Tony. He could tell that Tony had not received enough affection as a child, and he needed it. He hoped that "Thank you, Tony."

Tony cleared his throat, "You're welcome."

After giving Tony the rings, they left the vault and made their way to the surface. Once they reached the surface, Tony decided to open a vault for himself and deposit a few thousand dollars. Usually, the Goblins did not accept checks from No-Maj but considering that Tony was a decedent of the Carbonelle family and him being who he was, they made an exception. Tony opened an account for Pepper, Rhodey, and Happy, knowing that they would make a lot of money from the goblins. Now that Anthony and Tony concluded their business, the men met their companions at Flourish and Blotts.

When they arrived, they found that Rhodey and Happy had found the sweet shop and had bought some sweets. Rhodey told Tony about Berty Botts Every Flavor Beans, "Tones when they say every flavor; they mean every flavor. The clerk told us that you could get anything from cherry to earwax."

Tony smiled, "You bought me some too, right?"

"Of course."

"Great! Now, let's see what this bookstore has to offer."

"Ah, Tony, I want you to get every book that you would have studied at Ilvermorny and read them. It will help teach you more about your magic," Anthony told him.

Tony nodded and asked the clerk to show him to the school books. The clerk nodded and helped Tony get all the books he would need and also got him a book on the history of the American Wizarding World and its customs. Even a book on Ilvermorny. Tony got a book on wand lore and Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them. After spending an hour and a half in the story, Anthony told them it was time to leave to pick up their clothes.

Tony paid for his books, and the clerk shrunk them down. They left the store and went back to Ms. Sassy's Dress Robes Shop. When they walked in, Ms. Sassy smiled at them, "Wonderful, your clothes are ready, and I must say it is the best work we've done so far. I hope you like it."

"I'm sure we will, Ms. Sassy," Tony said with a smile.

Anthony paid for the clothes, then they went back to the thrift shop and went back to Tony's house, where he ordered pizza. Anthony ate the pizza and drank the wine that Tony offered, "Thank you, Tony; I truly enjoyed the food. Now it's time for me to retire. I shall see you tomorrow. Goodnight, all."

Anthony Carbonelle walked towards his painting and waved his hand. He was back in his original clothes and then stepped into his picture. Once he was inside, he closed his eyes and went to sleep, "That was cool," Rhodey said.

"Yeah, it was. Well, guys, I guess we should call it a night. I'll see you guys in two days. Be sure you're here at 2:00 in the morning and bring your wedding clothes. We'll change over there."

"How are we getting there," Pepper asked.

Tony smiled, "Magical transportation. Be sure you don't eat. Trust me."

The others looked at each other, confused but decided to listen to Tony. They said goodnight, and Happy took Pepper home; from there, he would go home. Rhodey left in his car a little bit later after congratulated him on his upcoming marriage.

After Rhodey left, Tony said goodnight to JARVIS and went to bed. He couldn't wait to read the books he bought and start his magical training. "This should be fun."
