Lily Snape had arrived while the snow fell softly in Hogsmeade.

On that day, Harriet would have laughed if someone had told her that she would be welcoming another baby next year, but as she laid in her nest, curled over her bulging belly one morning the following winter, she found herself doing exactly that, three days before Lily's first birthday.

Eileen Snape frowned while she mopped the sweat off of Harriet's forehead as the laboring omega gasped for breath once the pain eased at last.

Harriet groaned and put a hand on the bottom of her quivering tummy as she panted, "I….I n-need Severus……"

"He'll be back in a moment, my dear," Eileen murmured soothingly to her daughter-in-law.

Eileen had the ability to speak in the same low, calming cadence of Severus and that comforted her son's pained wife.

Harriet's water had broken an hour ago.

Immediately after, Severus had apparated away to fetch the midwife while Eileen stayed with Harriet.

Eileen didn't know what was taking her son so long, but as another dry gasp escaped Harriet's throat, she prepared herself for what necessity may demand.

"I NEED SEVERUS!" Harriet cried as her eyes widened with her legs.

"Harriet……" Eileen whispered as she laid an encouraging hand on her daughter-in-law's thigh.

Harriet curled forward and closed her eyes as she followed her body's urges while she wailed, "SSEEVVEERRUUSS!!"

Eileen left Harriet's side and settled herself between her legs as she urged her on and coaxed, "You can do this….without Severus…..go on, that's it, push when you need to……"

Harriet's heart pounded in her chest as a roar tore from her chest, "NNNGGGHH!"

"...MOTHER?!"

Eileen breathed a sigh of relief when she heard her son's voice call out from downstairs.

She hurriedly shouted in response, "Hurry, son! Your babe's nearly here!"

Harriet barely heard the flurry of racing footsteps that charged up the steps, raced down the long hallway, and crashed through the door.

Another pain already started deep in her belly and began to spread ominously across the base of her spine.

The midwife Harriet had hired crouched between her legs and began to instruct her but that didn't matter because……

"SEVERUS!" Harriet exclaimed in a desperate gasp.

"I'm here, my love, I'm here." Severus whispered in a low purr while he climbed into the nest next to Harriet and let her clutch onto his hand for support.

He gently moved Harriet's sweaty hair out of her face before she hunched forward and groaned again, "NNNGGGHHH!"

"That's it! That's it! Keep going!" The midwife cheered as Eileen patted Harriet's forehead with the damp cloth again.

A sharp cry broke the silence of the room.

"WWWWAAA!"

"WWWWAAAAA!"

Harriet and Severus locked gazes after the midwife placed a very chubby, baby boy onto her heaving chest.

"Congratulations!" The midwife beamed, "You two have a very healthy new son!"

Eileen entertained little Lily while Severus stayed with Harriet and his newborn.

The kind midwife helped Harriet with the afterbirth and cleaned mother and baby before she helped the new family get settled.

Severus's son was as pale as his father with raven-black hair and eyes to match.

His size surprised both of his parents and Harriet marveled at his chubbiness with a chuckle.

"I told you to stop fattening me up." Harriet taunted Severus as she looked over at her husband while their new baby boy happily gorged himself at her breasts.

"Well done, Mother Hen." Severus replied as he ignored his wife's joke and chose to praise her instead.

Severus Snape was not a humorous man.

He did feel joyously glad though that his mate and pup were healthy.

"All I needed was you, Father Raven." Harriet replied with a soft smile.

Severus bent down and kissed her sweetly before she added, "I named our daughter…...You should name our son."

"...Albus?" Severus asked.

"Albus Severus?" Harriet countered.

Severus placed another loving, gentle kiss on Harriet's lips while Albus Severus cooed softly in her arms.

Mother Hen and Father Raven were content.

Their nest was complete at last.
