Alrighty, Ultra Bat Fight fans! Ore! Sanjou!
"Alice is a lunatic, Dogson is a traitor, a former Crow turned Wonderland gang second in command," Jacob tells the rest of the Crow members with 2 photos of Alice and Dogson on the screen. "But there's more." He added before putting up another photo of Bemular. "Bemular is an unknown killing machine. Together, they want to terrorize the citizens of Gotham by undermining the people actually protecting them; us. I want them stopped...dead or alive."
Later that night, a Crow team was searching a hideout for the Wonderland gang, but as they left their vehicle unmanned, the thugs emerged, carrying bottles and lighters in hand, and started to burn the truck. After making their mess, they started to break for it and run. However, they weren't alone. One of them gets slammed into the wall face-first by Kate and the second thug gets caught by the hood and is squirming in mid-air to prevent him from running. He then gets a steel-plated fist that sends him flying into a trash can. Kate soon emerges wearing the newly customized batsuit with the red bat emblem and a shoulder-length scarlet wig added with the cowl. Shinjiro steps out of the shadows but only to see the last remaining thug pull out a gun and shoot Kate, but the suit surprisingly holds up.
"Cool." Kate remarks as the rabbit-masked thug makes an attempt to run away, but bumps into Shinjiro. He then gets flicked at the forehead, causing him to yelp and hold his forehead. Kate then rams him into a brick wall and puts her elbow against his throat.
"Where's Alice?" Kate asks him. "Go to hell!" He takes out a knife and tries to stab Kate in the shoulder. She catches it and tosses the knife aside, as well as tackling the thug to the ground, too.
"I'm only going to ask you this once. Where is Alice?" Shinjiro says as he crouches down. "I got nothing to say to you, Ultraman! A-and you too, bat-freak!" Kate, in response, grabs his arm. "Talk! Or I'll crush every bone in your body!" The thug, now afraid for his life, quickly spat it out. "OK! OK! She's at a place of what she calls 'childhood memories' or something! I swear! that's all I know!" "If you're lying, I'll break the other one," Kate adds. "The other what-?! AAAGH!"
And CRACK! Kate breaks the thug's right arm and Shinjiro makes sure that he stays down with a simple and gentle kick to the ribs. "Well, I guess he'll never hold a gun straight again." Shinjiro remarks. They suddenly hear sirens and they know who's coming. "Let's go," Shinjiro adds. Kate nods as she retreats to the shadows and gets into the Tumbler's cockpit, which is well hidden inside a building despite its ginormous size and desert-camo paintjob. Shinjiro, thanks to his Ultraman suit, used his neon blue Spacium Blades to catapult himself into the air and flew back to the Batcave, with Kate following by 4 gigantic wheels.
- (New intro!)-
(*Cues: Iron Man Armored Adventures theme (TV version) - Rooney*)
The screen fades open to the Ultraman suit's color timer/chestplate and suddenly zooms out. It then flashes to Luke welding a new upgrade to the Ultraman suit and the Batsuit, with Shinjiro and Kate watching in awe. It then cuts to a new snippet with Ultraman and Batwoman suiting up within seconds.
He's a man, on a mission.
Shinjiro is seen taking a test flight with the Ultraman suit and stopping a rogue train in the daytime. The view suddenly and swiftly changes to night as buildings and a bat signal can be seen.
In armor, of high tech, ammunition.
In the next few scenes, Kate is standing on a rooftop, overlooking the city as she fights Alice and Bemular with some of her new powers. Ultraman charges through with glass shattering.
Trapped on the edge of an endless game, his teenage life will never be the same.
3 parts of the screen have been split to see the panels of Luke Fox, Rena Sayama, and Mary Hamilton before quickly switching to 2 panels of Alice swinging her butterfly knife and Bemular readying a ball of raw heat energy.
In a dangerous world, he does all he can.
After the pannels, they switch to a scene of Jacob and his team of Crows running in slow motion, weapons ready at hand. It then fades to another scene with Ultraman carrying Rena dressed as a pop star in his arms, her arms around his neck as they fly through the night skies.
He's Iron Man!
Another shift to a scene of Sophie wearing the Ultraman Tiga suit, and she's not alone. Another armored figure, Ultraman Ace and Mia Smoak (from BatCat's 'The Ultimate Battle' story) transforming into an actual Ultraman, Zett's Delta Rise Claw form.
Iron Man!
Then there is one last snippet of Shinjiro and Kate, both maskless, slightly injured, and battle-damaged, crossing their arms into a + position, firing their Spacium Rays (Shinjiro's beam is white and cyan, Kate's beam is purple, black, and red). The original Ultraman's manifestation appears behind the siblings and they perform the trademark finisher together. The screen flashes white as a red Batarang flies by to reveal the title card:
ULTRA BAT FIGHT
The Batarang, combined with the Ultraman suit's helmet, is slowly revealed behind the title as the closing 2 digital beeps of the song play.
-(Fade back to the story)-
The 2 returned to the Batcave in their own respective ways; Shinjiro glides into a hidden compartment of the building while Kate drives the Tumbler into a hidden entrance from the parking lot. "Well, that was fun for my first appearance as Ultraman," Shinjiro says as several machines and mechanical arms began to disassemble the Ultraman suit as he was walking towards the monitors.
Kate simply takes off her cowl and Shinjiro wore a bullet-resistant flexible black undersuit with bits of metal hexagonal patterns woven into the Nomex surface, which were meant for magnetic capabilities to quickly assemble the suit onto him.
"That's really what you're going for? Ultraman?" Kate questions him. "Isn't there already one in Japan?"
"Eh, I guess you have a point...Batwoman." Shinjiro replies.
"Touché." Kate laughs as Luke greets them, with frustration, that is.
"3 hours later, WHERE THE HAIL WERE YOU TWO?" Luke asks them as if he were a father lecturing his teenage children.
"Brother and sister bonding time." Kate jokes.
"Did anyone see you? Bystanders? Police? Cameras? Cell phones?" Luke questions while the siblings make it to the central computer. Kate sits in the main chair and Shinjiro stands behind his sister. "Seriously, Kate. You can't be going out in Gotham pretending to be Batman's successor."
"Bruce wouldn't mind," Shinjiro responds. "If he hung up the cape and cowl before he was a goner, then it must be for Kate to carry on his legacy." He started before checking his phone. "Oh shoot." He cursed. "What is it?" Kate asked.
"Ben and Merco are going to the arcade tonight and I promised to meet up with them," Shinjiro explains. "I'll see you tomorrow morning." He adds on before he rushes off.
(Timeskip: The next morning...)
The sun begins to shine through the window of Shinjiro's bedroom, who is peacefully sleeping, shirtless, and in his underwear.
The reason being? Well, Shinjiro and his friends went to the arcade and after playing Dark Escape 4D. It scared the crap out of him, but still, he managed to get some shuteye.
Just then, his phone ringtone starts to play (Zi-O II's standby). Shinjiro groans and picks up the phone. "Shut up, Zi-O." He jokingly croaks and snoozes the alarm. He sighs and looks at the ceiling before a knock comes for him.
"Hey, stinky!" Mary calls out, attempting to sound like Mario before readjusting to her normal voice. "Gotta go! School!"
"Coming..." Shinjiro yawns as he opens the door, but not before he truly wakes up from hearing a gasp. It was Rena, wearing her school uniform and clasping her hands over her mouth. "Ah! Oh my god! Sorry." He exclaims. "No-no-no it's o-ok," Rena reassures him, blushing wildly and giggling. "Bro! Put on some pants!" Mary laughs as she pushes him back into his room for him to change.
Shinjiro sat in the classroom, listening to Vesper Fairchild's latest podcast.
Good morning, Gotham! Your bestie, Vesper Fairchild here. On a normal Tuesday, I'd want to know who wore who at last night's Gotham Gala, who got drunk, who got clawed, but Bat fever is upon us, people! It has been 4 days since we saw a caped bombshell and a red and silver Iron Man soaring through the sky, and it's still all anyone can tweet about. Is this new Dynamic Duo taking Batman's place? Talk to me, Gotham.
It's totally a girl. If you look at that picture they have in the paper, it's the cape and the red hair on the cowl.
I heard that Alice's gang firebombed a Crows truck last night. Our heroes picked a good time to rise up.
Shinjiro sighed and took off his headset. He had inherited what most people called superpowers, but now being seen as a red and silver Iron Man was making him feel bad. As it turned out, bright colors don't really stand out in the shadows, so he was called Black Knight.
That's a...bad name. He even called himself Ultraman. Even the suit could prove it, too. Perhaps he should try to show his suit in a brighter environment.
He stores his phone in his school uniform pocket and looks outside. Just then, Rena walks by him. She taps his shoulder.
"Hey." She said. Shinjiro turns around to face her. "Oh, um. Hi, Rena." He then starts blushing, remembering what happened this morning. "I'm really sorry for what happened, I was just half asleep."
"No, it's ok." She reassures him. "Actually, I'm here to talk to you about something," Rena said. "What is it?" Shinjiro asked.
Rena poked her fingers against each other. "Well, um, I actually have a concert that's coming up in a few days, so I was hoping if you could come." She requested.
"Um...sure! What can I ever say to someone as pretty as you?" Shinjiro stuttered. Rena giggled.
Back at the Batcave, Luke, yet again, was busy lecturing Kate about being Batwoman. So many times had he told her that she is NOT Bruce Wayne, but no matter what he told her, she could care less. "Do you know what this is?" Luke quizzed her, pointing to a weapon being hung on a gear stand displaying Batman's tools and gadgets.
"A bat weapon?" Kate guesses. "Wrong. It's a laser saw that can cut through anything." Luke corrected.
"Cool."
Luke continues to quiz her, pointing to another tool on the second gear stand that displayed the Ultraman Suit's additional gear and weapons. "What about this?" He questioned, gesturing to a tiny circular mechanism the size of the armor's color timer. "A limit-releaser that boosts my powers," Shinjiro answers, his voice echoing through the cave. "That's...actually correct." Luke smiled, finally seeing that there was SOMEONE who was serious. "Anyway, these aren't toys. They are one of a kind, and these are dangerous tools that even I don't know how to use or know how powerful they can be." He told Kate.
"You know who you sound like?" She asked. "Lucius Fox."
"Who, by the way, was actually useful," Shinjiro added before fist-bumping his sister.
And that wraps up this chapter! I'm so sorry for the extremely long delay, but I would like to tell you fans that starting tomorrow, I'll be focusing on the revival of Ultra Bat Fight. But for now, see you next chapter and stay fresh!
