Notes:
***Hello, everyone! I'm back with a Bakugo/Izuku alpha-omega fic! I foretell that this is going to be a long fic based on my brainstorming notes and plot building. It's been a while since I wrote about Bakugo and Izuku. ^_^ Hopefully, you've read the short summary as well as the full summary in chapter 1. This fic will have two parts focusing on A/O/B dynamics, relationship and family drama, political intrigue and scheming, love triangles, battles, and in-realm politics. If you have any specific questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me via email and I will answer any concerns or triggers you may have. I'm also going to attempt to try and keep these chapters shorter than what I usually write.
***Keep in mind that the one true and smut pairing in this fic, from beginning to end, despite all that will happen to them, is Bakugo and Izuku. I hope you'll stay for the ride!
***Warnings: Language, medical scenes (ex: broken bones), omega sexual desire, very minor bullying/insults
***Please, read on and enjoy! Comments and kudos are greatly welcomed and appreciated!

Part One

Chapter 1: The Storm
Another rumble of thunder followed by a clash of lightning rattled the wooden shutters. At the same time, the latch and hinges struggled to keep them closed. Rain drums heavily on the roof while high winds whistle outside. Near- winter storms on the island were always harsh, and this one was no exception.
Izuku looks up from his book at the rattling shutters from his chair in front of the fireplace. He didn't think the storm would last this long into the night. He never sleeps well when a storm lingers, not because he was afraid of them, rather the uneasiness they brought to a fishing town. Boats could be destroyed, docks can be washed away, fences can crumble, and livestock can escape. Their boats and livestock are their livelihoods on the island. Should they lose them, and it does happen, it means trouble for the owner. Especially now when their tributes to the kingdom were higher than ever. They almost didn't make the required amount of seafood and goods this quarter. Hopefully, in time, all of that will change.
Two months ago, word of the revolution reached the island, and Izuku secretly joined with many others in the town. With enough people joining the cause, they can overthrow the hierarchy, thus breaking the chains of forced servitude and tributes. If they didn't have to give so much away, Izuku and his island town could lead comfortable lives. There wouldn't be any need for them to fear punishment from the sovereign. Every city, village, and town can have its magistrate elected by the people, not appointed by the royal council. Instead of the already rich and powerful getting all the goods, it will be him, the lower class, who can choose what to keep from their hard work. They can provide goods and services to those nobles but for a price, not out of 'obligation' and 'duty.' Izuku knew it was hopeless to expect a peaceful transition between the ruling class and the people. There will be violence in one form or another, but he wouldn't participate in that; he'd do his best to try and find a peaceful way to achieve their goals.
The storm suddenly became violent with howling winds and flashes of blue followed by ear-piercing cracks of thunder. Izuku quickly went around to each window to ensure they were still secured. There's going to be damage, he thought, and could only hope that it wouldn't be too bad. However, the violent turn the storm took ended within a couple of minutes, returning to how it was previously. And then, fifteen minutes later, it stopped. The storm was rolling away.
Izuku lets out a heavy sigh of relief and collapses onto the bed. Then, exhausted, he let the distant thunder lull him into a light sleep.
The following day, Izuku got up and, before having breakfast, went outside to assess the damage. The sky above was still overcast, and the breeze chilly. Luckily, there was no damage to his storage shed or his fence. The small tree on his land had a broken branch, which was his only damage. Relieved, he went back inside, heated up some tea and porridge, ate, then went into town. He would spend the rest of his day helping out others that may have had damage because of the storm.
Izuku stopped by one of the elderly folks' homes first, which was on the way into town. He helped Mr. and Mrs. Charm with repairing their fence and picking up some debris. Mrs. Charm brought him a cup of hot tea, which he accepted and thanked her.
"When are you going to find a nice alpha fisherman to settle down with?" She asks him with a cheerful, almost teasing toothless smile.
Izuku chuckles and tries to hide his blush. "Well...um…"
"Oh, you don't need to be so shy!" She rubs his forearm. "I know a nice alpha for you,"
"That's okay, Mrs. Charm. You don't have to worry yourself about that stuff. I'm happy being on my own right now."
"Oh, you poor thing," She frowns at him. "I think about you all alone up on that hill with no alpha for company,"
He chuckles again and brings her into a side-hug. "Thank you for caring about me, Mrs. Charm, but I'm all right living on my own. I promise!"
She playfully batts at him with her apron. "You certainly are a stubborn young man,"
"Mrs. Charm!" her husband calls out from the window. "Where's me walking stick?"
"One moment, Mr. Charm!" She calls back and then looks at Izuku. "Izuku, would you be a dear and bring this basket of kindling to the docks? I don't want Mr. Charm carrying it there and slipping in the mud; he could hurt his hip more than it already is,"
"Blast it, old woman!" Mr. Charm limps out of the house. "There's nothing wrong with me hip!"
Izuku laughs and says, "Don't worry Mrs. Charm. I'll bring it to the docks for you."
"I can do it meself!" Mr. Charm protests.
"I'm sure you can, Mr. Charm," Izuku says to him. "But let me help today because of all the mud. I promise you can do it next time!"
Mr. Charm grumbles under his breath and strokes his rough gray beard, silently accepting Izuku's offer. Then, Mr. Charm turns to his wife and says, "Go get in the house, Mrs. Charm. Now!"
Izuku paused when he heard the command and followed Mr. Charm's stare to the road. He saw why Mr. Charm was concerned, and he too asked Mrs. Charm to go inside. Coming down the road on horseback is the head magistrate, Kai Chisaki, flanked by his two fellow magistrates and a small entourage of royal guards. Izuku tries to keep his face void of emotions, but he can never stop his brow from furrowing at the sight of the dark-haired alpha. Kai Chisaki is one of the appointed royal officials to their town. He hates every piece of the island, from the people down to the smallest grain of sand. He wears half a plague mask covering his nose and mouth to 'keep the filthy germs of rotting fish' from his lungs. If it wasn't a harsh judgment or a cold verdict, it was insulting the townspeople. Seeing this alpha is the only time Izuku ever feels extreme disdain for another living human.
Izuku's eyes met Kai's, and the alpha stopped his horse by the gate. "How is it that you keep surviving these storms?" Kai says coldly to Izuku.
"It takes more than fancy clothes and nice houses!" Mr. Charm answered harshly for Izuku.
Izuku placed a calming hand on the old man's shoulder.
"The same way as you," Izuku answered Kai as calmly as he could. "Sturdy houses."
"Izuku Midoriya, everyone's favorite little omega," Kai mocks. "Always trying to prove himself by helping others,"
"I don't see anything wrong with helping my neighbors," Izuku replied. "I have nothing to prove. I like helping others,"
"Try it sometime, Mr. Magistrate!" Mr. Charm added with a sneer.
Kai turned his gaze to the old man and said, "Mr. Charm, I would watch your tone with me if I were you," he says. "Your taxes are late again, and I haven't commanded that you pay it in goods yet," Mr. Charm fell silent. "That's better,"
"Sir, we should get down to the shore," says the other magistrate. "We don't want to waste time. There may be survivors."
"Survivors?" Izuku panicked. "What happened? Were people hurt?"
Kai's brow twitched. "Don't shout," he says. "Your fish breath is almost as bad as the rest of your rotten fish smell. Filthy beings," he says as he walks away with the others, ignoring Izuku's question.
A soldier passing Izuku tells him that a royal ship had gone down in the storm near the coast. Izuku nodded to the guard with thanks and waited for Kai to be out of sight before leaving the Charms. Then, taking the basket of kindling for them, he travels another route to the shore.
What was a royal ship doing coming here? They already paid their tributes, so why would another one come to the island? Unless they had seen the storm approaching and tried to seek shelter at the island but didn't make it. Even though he was part of the rebellion to dethrone the king and bring down the hierarchy, he didn't want anyone to get hurt. The people he is fighting against are still people with loved ones, friends, and families. Izuku made a vow to himself, after joining the rebellion, that he would never issue swift, harsh justice on any loyalist. Of course, many others on the island would be thrilled to know a royal ship went down; fewer loyalists to worry about, but he couldn't think that way.
Walking the shore, Izuku searched for any person who may have escaped the sinking ship. He could see pieces of ship debris in the waves, and some items had washed up onto the shore. Izuku continued to search, both around the docks and away from them. Without finding any bodies, he can only assume they had all gone down with the ship, and he felt sorry for them. While beautiful and rich with resources, the ocean can become a perilous terrain with only a watery graveyard for people.
Just as Izuku was getting ready to give up on his search, something caught his eye by a pile of black rocks; it was a pair of boots! Gasping, he races through the sand towards the limbs and finds a man washed up on the surf. Izuku falls beside him, rolling him over to check for breathing and a pulse. He finds both. Quickly, he gives mouth-to-mouth and puts pressure on the chest. He keeps this up until the man starts to cough up water. Izuku tilts the man's head to the side, so all the water could come out.
"You're going to be alright now," Izuku says to him. "I've got you," he waited to hear a response from the man, but instead, he passed out, most likely from exhaustion. Izuku wasn't sure how long the man had been here or how long he may have been struggling and swimming in the ocean. 'I need to get him to the town doctor,' That's what Izuku thought until he saw the man's clothing.
The man is not just a soldier, nor is he a commoner; he's a royal officer. And a high-ranking hero one at that, for a string of medals on the dark blue uniform.
This man is his enemy.
Izuku knows what he is expected to do as a revolution member; turn the enemy into the leaders to be put on trial by the people. They will likely execute him, Izuku thought, because of his status as an officer. They'll make an example out of him. Izuku swallows hard with the intense battle between his conscience and his duty to the revolution.
'What should I do?' He asks himself.
Izuku turns his gaze to the man on the sand, staring at his face. He is handsome, with pale blonde hair and a strong jaw. His shoulders are broad beneath the wet uniform. Izuku swallows again and leans down to the man's neck where the glands are and sniffs. Instantly, Izuku learns the man is an alpha and a strong one because the intense scent traveled to his lower belly and sexually excited him. Some slick trickled from his slit, and his backside tingled just like any omega that gets the scent of a powerful alpha. Izuku falls back, covering his nose and mouth while clenching his eyes shut. He's never had such a reaction to an alpha before; of all the alphas in the world, he has to be turned on by the enemy.
'Stop it, Izuku! You're stronger than this!' he slaps both his freckled cheeks three or four times. 'Just leave him! I'll leave an anonymous message with one of the leaders! Yeah, that's what I'll do!'
At least, that's what he told himself he SHOULD do. But, instead, Izuku finds some rope and canvas to wrap the man up in, passing him off as cargo, and lifts the heavy alpha along his shoulders. Izuku tells himself that he isn't doing this because of his omega reaction but rather to save the officer's life so that, in turn, they may obtain an ally within the kingdom. Having a hero officer like this alpha on their side will significantly help their cause. He hopes.
Once back in his cabin, he places the man on the floor first to unwrap him. Izuku would have to take off all the wet clothing, which he wasn't too keen on doing for one reason; he didn't want to look at the alpha's muscled body. However, he can't stay in cold clothing, so Izuku has no choice.
Keeping his eyes mostly upward, he begins stripping the man of the uniform heavy with water and salt. The man lets out a small groan and Izuku pauses, looking at his face to see if he was waking up. No. He's still out cold. Once he removed the top half of the uniform, Izuku saw bruised skin on the man's forearm. Izuku discovered that it's broken and would need a splint. Seeing as the arm was broken, Izuku checked the rest of the man's limbs for signs of broken bones. He saw nothing until the removal of the boots where the right foot and ankle were swollen. Checking it, Izuku confirmed the ankle was broken. Other than the two broken bones, the man didn't seem to have any other injuries.
Izuku wasn't that skilled in the medical field, but he did have some knowledge due to his omega classes when he was a boy. It was expected for an omega to participate in classes and learn how to care for their alphas and children. He would rather go to the town doctor but the man is their enemy, so Izuku has to keep him hidden. He'll have to set the bones himself. He is more concerned with the alpha waking up when he does that rather than if he can do it properly. He is taking a huge risk hiding the enemy here.
Finally, the man is naked. Izuku couldn't help but take a quick, quick glance downward, and confirmed that the man is a natural blonde.
Dark clouds. Thunder. Lightning. Wind. Fire. Screams. Water.
A bolt of lightning struck the mast of the ship, igniting it into a wall of flame that spread to the sails. Sailors ran amuck, dodging the flaming debris and leaping overboard. The captain stuck to the poop deck, fighting against the storm to hold the defeated boat steady in a useless attempt to keep it afloat.
Katsuki Bakugo stared up at the walls of flame as the sails shriveled up and the other masts caught fire. They were still far from the nearest port and the lifeboats have taken to flame as well. The only thing left was to jump into the cold ocean water. With no other options, Bakugo leaped over the railing and dived into the dark water. The cold struck his body, nearly taking every breath away. He sputtered and swam around until he found a piece of ship floating. Throwing his upper half onto it, he watches the ship go down in an orange blaze until the night is dark once again.
Fighting the despair and the cold, Bakugo presses on towards the direction of the port with only a few faint lights guiding his way.
Soon, exhaustion took over and he let the waves carry him to shore.
'Bakugo? Are you ready yet?'
'What's all this about again?' Bakugo asks his betrothed, Shoto Todoroki.
'My father wishes to see us about a very important matter,' Shoto replied. 'Have you already forgotten?'
'Yeah, actually,' Bakugo replied. 'I hate having to see your old man.'
Shoto gives a small nod. 'I feel the same...but I am only an omega and can only do so much,' he says. 'Once I take my father's place, you will be the alpha beside me. Everything mine will be yours. Don't forget that,' Shoto reminds him. 'It is more than someone of your status could ever hope to achieve.'
'Don't fucking keep reminding me of that,' He sneers at Shoto but follows him.
'In one week from today, Katsuki Bakugo and my omega son, Shoto Todoroki, will be bound in mated matrimony!'
The guests in the room all clapped and cheered.
Bakugo was dumbstruck.
Shoto smiled softly at him, taking Bakugo's hand under the table.
In the middle of the night, without warning or goodbye, Bakugo packed what he could and boarded a ship to hide from the marriage. He wasn't ready yet.
'What's this shit I'm feeling? Pain? It's pain...someone is moving me! Who the hell is touching me?'
Bakugo slowly blinks his eyes open, expecting to see the sky above him but instead finds a wooden ceiling. Two things ignite his senses; firewood and fish. The fish smell makes his stomach turn and he feels ready to vomit. When he tries to push himself up, he realized he only has one arm and one hand in working condition. The other is splinted and wrapped tight. Regardless, he leans over and lets the bile sting his throat as it comes up and out. Coughing, his eyes dart around to observe his immediate surroundings. A house, or cabin. A bed. He's in someone's home.
"Wait! I'll get you a bucket!"
Bakugo's eyes dart towards the sound of another male's voice and sees a poorly dressed figure rushing over with a bucket. All he can smell is fish and earth; it makes his stomach tighten again with the promise of more vomit. The male holds the bucket in front of him and Bakugo can't hold it in, hacking and dry heaving what was left of his stomach into the bucket.
"I'm so glad you're awake! You've been out of it for quite a while!"
Bakugo, panting, looks up at this male with messy green hair under a floppy poor person's hat with stupidly big green eyes and cheeks covered in freckles. Aside from the fish and earth smell, Bakugo could tell this man is an omega. He doesn't know this man, nor does he know where he is or how he got here. Bakugo could never fully trust anyone, and this omega with the sweet, stupid face could be a dangerous, backstabbing maniac. Without a word, Bakugo reached out his free hand to grasp the omega's neck and squeeze. The omega starts to choke and struggle.
"Who the hell are you, asshole? You fucking smell like fish and broccoli! I should snap your neck here and now for taking it upon yourself to take a royal officer of the crown!"
