Dr. Lewis chaired a meeting to discuss the next round clinical trials on drug they were about to put to market when she received a Skype call on her phone from Mary. She excused herself from her meeting to take the call in her office.

"Hello Mary! Everything alright?" Lauren asked.

"Fine. Just checking to see if Bo has returned home yet?" Mary asked.

"She has only been gone for one night, but I expect her trip may take another couple of days."

"Has she called?" Mary asked concerned.

"Yes. She called last evening to check in."

"She hasn't called yet today?"

"I suspect whatever business she and Trick are conducting has taken up her focus."

"Well, it is good that you heard from her. I wish she could have explained where she was going. She said it was a business trip with Fitzpatrick, but I know enough to know that may not all be what it seems." Mary said. Lauren smiled. Mary became shrewder about the Fae world every day. Lauren decided to change the focus of the conversation.

"The children were rolling around in the lovely afghans you gave them last evening in the backyard."

"Maddy allowed that?" Mary asked surprised. Maddy loved the Mary's craftwork and subsequently very particular about their care.

"Only for a short period."

"So is it just you and Maddy?

"Tamsin and Kenzi are staying at the house to help watch the children."

"Isn't that like the blind leading the blind?" Mary asked. Lauren could not help but to let out a chuckle on that one, recalling the time she was on a Skype call with Mary at home, and Tamsin and Kenzi were trying to get the children to eat their lunch. It was a sight to behold. Mary just shook her head the whole time.

"Bo wanted the added hands on deck for her own mental comfort."

"I told Bo I could have come up and sat with the children."

"If Bo thought she would be away longer then we would have brought you here. But she doesn't expect to be gone much longer. She is trying to deal with what she needs to do and then get back home."

"Good."

"How are you feeling, Mary otherwise? How is the medication? Any side effects?" Lauren asked.

"No. I feel right as rain. No dizziness, no light-headedness, no nausea."

"I want to give it another few months then I want to start to ween you off of it. You have been on the drug for several years now, so I want to see how well you do without it."

"That is fine by me."

"I want to block out some time to monitor you here just in case I need to make any adjustments. Bo and will look at our schedules and coordinate a date with you."

"Just let me know when."

"I have to get back to my meeting, but please call if you need anything."

"I will. Please call me and let me know when Bo gets back home or if she will be delayed."

"I will."

"Sending you all my love." Mary said.

"We as well." The call ended.

Their Serene Highnesses Jock and Atia Prescotti took Bo, Trick and Vex on a tour of Monadori Sanctuary, the spiritual home of the Prescotti family of which both Jock and Atia were Adherents.

"Our family largely follows the Ranoruk spiritual traditions and customs, and therein lies a great deal of mysticism involved in its practices. While our Mother's spiritual traditions are recognized and respected where appropriate, Mother has deferred her spiritual following to that of the Monadori Sanctuary. The Seneschal, by the way, are also derived from the Monadori, and the Regnant Guard take their vows of loyalty and fealty of service through the Sanctuary, just so you know. While the entire Ruling Family are currently Supporters of the Monadori, Atia and I, are Adherents, basically committed for life to the ways and tenants of the Sanctuary."

"On our plane they would be monks and nuns respectively." Trick explained to Bo and Vex.

"Elena is an Acolyte. Meaning, she has committed herself to the next stage, but has not taken dedicated vows." Jock explained.

"Nayra, the Seer, is our spiritual guide. She will be able to see into your very being so to speak and derive meaning from that exploration. The intent of The Regnant is to have you visit with the Seer to if any of her insights can provide credence to His Excellency's claims that you may be the next Regnant."

"How will she 'see' into my very being?" Bo asked.

"She herself has the ability to reflect your past experiences to help assess whether my claim is true."

"Understood. Thought it would be another Glass Factory test." Bo said.

"Pardon?" Atia asked."

"Past history." Trick replied. Atia nodded her head.

Jock and Atia led them into the Artifacts Room of the Monadori Sanctuary and there were a series of pillars dotted around the room. Jock stopped in front of one pillar that had an encasement on top of it, and inside was a small amulet that hung on a necklace.

"This amulet was worn by then Regnant Einiah of the Rahinotep Dynasty of which the Prescotti family was part. Inside it houses the life essences as well as the Fae powers of previous Regnants, but can only be accessed by a Regnant. When Regnant Einiah was nearly felled during the War of the Five Ranas he was wearing this amulet." Jock explained. Everyone noted it.

"Let us continue to the inner sanctum." Jock said as he moved ahead while Trick and Vex followed. Bo followed behind them while Atia brought up the rear.

As Bo walked past the amulet suddenly came alive, started glowing, and then shot out a bluish light that hit Bo and stopped her in her tracks.

"Jock!" Atia's shouted. Everyone quickly turned around and saw what was happening. The light then encased Bo's entire body, which instinctually made Bo turn on her baby blues. Trick and Vex ran back to Bo but Jock reached out and halted their advance.

"This has meaning." Jock said.

"We need to get her out of there!" Vex shouted.

"I understand your concern, but we should not act precipitously." Jock said calmly. Trick and Vex looked at Bo locked in the bubble.

"Stay here and do not disturb what is happening." Jock said.

"Wait! Where are you going?" Vex shouted after him, but it was on deaf eyes as Jock bolted out of the Artifacts Room.

"Where is he going?!" Vex shouted

"To go find Mummy!" Atia answered.

"We need to get her out of there!" Vex shouted. Trick looked at Vex.

"I think we may found what we came here looking for." Trick said as he watched Bo.

A few minutes later The Regnant entered the Artifacts Room with the Queen Consort, Regent Saladin and His Serene Highness Jock Prescotti.

By this time, Nayra, the Seer of the Sanctuary, Monadori staff, and the Regnant Guard were all entered the room. The Seer was on her knees, her eyes rolled back white as she seemed to commune with what all was happening.

The Regnant looked at Bo for a long moment then turned to Trick and Vex.

"Has she moved?" The Regnant asked.

"Not an inch, Your Majesty." Vex replied.

The Regnant approached Bo slowly then rounded her and then stood face to face with Bo. The moment The Regnant had done so another bluish beam shot out from the amulet and encased her as well. The Regnant shifted her eyes, but unlike Bo's whose cornea's were blue the entire orb of the Regnant eyes turned blue, and was locked in the same trance-like hold that Bo was in.

"Ari!" The Queen Consort called out to her wife, and advanced on her, but Regent Saladin halted her advance.

"Your Majesty, wait!" Regent Saladin said to The Queen Consort as he held her.

The bubble started to pulsate hard and its glow grew in size. The pulsating glow started to blind everyone in the room to where they had to cover their eyes. The Seer, however, did not move, but remained on her knees just as entranced as Bo and The Regnant. All of a sudden the Seer spoke.

"She will live. She will die. She will live again."

Everyone looked at the Seer trying to understand what she meant, but her eyes remained entranced.

Inside the bubble, Ari and Bo could see themselves standing in the middle of a floor. The atmosphere, the air, everything around it was a combination of luminous haze of bluish purple, orange and red colors. Their vision were distorted but clear enough to make out they were flanked by Fae beings seated on throne-like chairs. Ari recognized Regnant Einiah and deduced the others were previous Regnants. Their forms were luminous, and they all bowed their heads slightly at both Ari and Bo. Ari and Bo tried to speak but could not. Suddenly an essence appeared in front of them both. Ari eyes opened wider for she recognized the essence as Destiny itself. Destiny that anointed her on the battlefield.

Destiny floated closer to them and spoke:

You are here

The One who reigns

The One who shall reign

The One who rules

The One who shall rule

Your futures are One

You are One

Life

Death

Eternal

Intended

Anointed

Sovereign

Outside the Seer suddenly called out, "Recognize!"

The glow seized everyone in the room, in the hall, in the Presidium as the eyes of all Fae, everywhere went white.

Kenzi was at the Dal when all the Fae suddenly stopped as their eyes rolled back white.

Julia was at her offices when all the Fae there suddenly stopped and their eyes rolled back white.

Dyson and Tamsin were in the meeting at the Compound when they all stopped, and their eyes rolled back white.

Dr. Lewis was in one of Research Labs when the eyes of all of the Fae in the room suddenly rolled back white. Dr. Lewis stepped back from her work and she took it all in.

Trick and Vex were still trying to watch Bo when the encasement exploded, which caused everyone to shield their eyes.

The Regnant and Bo, however, were still encased in a bluish bubble with the glow of the amulet feeding the power of the bubble. The bubble grew in power and The Queen Consort saw that both The Regnant's and Bo's succubus nature started to feed off the power.

"Ari! You are losing yourself!" The Queen Consort called out. The Regnant nor Bo moved.

"Ari!" The Queen Consort shouted again and tried to advance but Regnant Saladin kept his grip on her.

"Can't we yank them apart?" Vex shouted to Trick as he covered his eyes.

"It looks like they are locked together by their own powers! Yanking them free might harm them both!" Trick shouted back.

Helen saw that Atia had stepped forward and quickly realized what she intended to do.

"Atia! Don't! We don't know what that kind of power will do to you!"

"I will be okay, Mother."Atia said in a serene tone.

Helen watched as her daughter stepped into the bubble and stood between The Regnant and Bo. She then stood in the stream of the beam of the amulet and absorbed it. Suddenly, the bubble burst, which caused everyone to cover their eyes again. Once the brightness cleared everyone lowered their arms to find Atia standing between The Regnant and Bo, her eyes shifted blue. However, not only were The Regnant and Bo eyes blue but so their bodies were aflame in a luminous blue color. The sight frankly freaked Vex out. The Regnant looked at Bo, and then turned to her wife.

"She IS me."
