Winter's First Snow
It had been two days since Team 7 arrived in a neighboring village of Konoha. Their mission was to accompany a businessman. It was only to last three days and they were to leave for Konoha the next morning. It was a fairly straightforward mission and everything went well.
Sarada walked out of the house where her team was staying. Winter had arrived and it was colder than in Konoha. She wrapped her arms around her, trying to warm herself up. She had forgotten to take her cloak before going out. She knew she should go inside, but the cold did not scare her. The streets were so quiet, she had a feeling of deep calm. She closed her eyes, letting herself be carried away by this calmness. She felt the snow was coming. Snow was rare in Konoha and when it fell, it was something beautiful and magical. Every winter, she hoped it would snow.
She suddenly felt a chakra arrive towards her. She would recognize it anywhere. She could not help smiling. She felt something on her shoulders. She opened her eyes and saw that Boruto had put her cloak on her shoulders. She turned her head towards him. He frowned, annoyed.
'You'll catch a cold if you go out without covered up.'
Sarada tried not to laugh at his serious expression.
'Sorry. I could not wait to see the snow fall.'
Boruto opened his eyes wide and looked up at the sky.
'How do you know it will snow?'
'Let's say I have a sixth sense.'
Sarada mysteriously smiled. She did not know if it was going to snow or not. She hoped that it would. Boruo looked at her, perplex.
'Come on, let's go inside,' he said. 'We should go to rest, we leave early tomorrow morning.'
'Let's wait a few more minutes. It's so peaceful here. Don't you find that relaxing ?'
Boruto sighed. When she smiled at him like that, he could never refuse her anything.
'Fine.'
He looked at the sky again, trying to hide his smile. He still wanted to enjoy a few minutes alone with Sarada. Even if he had to stay out in the cold waiting for the snow that might not come. Suddenly he saw white dots falling from the sky, as Sarada had predicted.
'You see,' she said. 'Snow is magic.'
Boruto looked at her. Her eyes lit up and she had a huge smile on her face. He had never seen her so happy. He understood her joy. Snow was so rare in Konoha that the tiniest little flake made everyone happy.
'Thank you for waiting for the snow with me,' she said.
She lifted her arm and poked his forehead gently before entering the house. Boruto opened his eyes wide. He put his hand to his forehead and blushed. He could not have said why, but as she poked his forehead, he felt like Sarada had confided in him something important. As if the bond between them grew stronger. He smiled and followed her inside the house.
For Boruto, snow was magical thanks to Sarada.
The end
