AkiSako [Akira Hayama x Hisako Arato] - Yeah, I know. I left a day out ahddh I got tired yesterday, sorry! I originally wanted to do two for today to make up for yesterday, but well this one became longer than I thought it would. So maybe tomorrow. Anyways, have a drabble that's here to justify "family" as genre for this fanfic. Occasionally my Next Gen OCs will sneak into this story, so yeah. If they happen to interest you, I have a full-blown fanfic about their teen-years called "Shokugeki no Kimiko".

Rationally, Hisako knew perfectly well that nothing could go wrong: she had gone over the PowerPoint's frames multiple times, she memorised her lines perfectly by now and this was also not her first presentation to give.

Yet still, a tiny part of her's could not help but to be a little nervous.

Probably that part of her that still hadn't quite adjusted to stand so prominently in the spotlight.

She let out a small, barely audible sigh while reaching into her bag to pull out her notes. However before she could even make an attempt to get them out, she heard a more than familiar voice to her left.

"Mommy!"

Hisako turned her head and was met with the sight of her husband and their two children approaching her. One of them, the girl who had also called for her, carried a bouquet of red and orange flowers.

"Your children want to wish you good luck." Akira smiled warmly when the three of them where close enough. The boy holding his hand, Akio Hayama, nodded. "Yes!

The girl, Kaori Hayama, then excitedly held up the bouquet. "Daddy had the idea to buy a bouquet." And while Akira couldn't help but to blush a little bit over his daughter exposing him like that, Kaori excitedly continued. "But he let me pick the flowers. Here! Look!"

Hisako could tell that the bouquet was professionally arranged right away. It was also very vibrant, consisting of red peonies and orange orchids.

"I know your favorite flowers are hyacinths, Mommy, and Daddy originally wanted to get you those. But I argued that it's a Good-Luck-Bouquet and red peonies symbolise that. Orange orchids meanwhile mean pride!" Her brown eyes radiated. "Which we all have for you, Mommy!"

Kaori turned her head back to her father with such a quick speed that it startled him a little. "Right, Daddy?"

"Of course." Akira spoke after a little pause. He met Hisako's eyes. "You two can really call yourself proud for having such a smart mom."

Now it was Hisako's turn to blush as a small, flattered smile graced her glossed lips.

She bend down a little to take the bouquet from Kaori's little hands. "Thank you."

And just like that she had forgotten over ever having been nervous that day.
