Author's Note:
Hello and (late) Happy New Year!
Remember when I said that I wanted to "resurrect" this Drabble collection, then posted 3 drabbles and put it to the side once again? That was not very nice of me being real asdhfhfg !
Being honest, I don't want to let this collection be fully inactive. After all, there's still quite some ships out there I have yet to tackle!
So today, I've come to a conclusion: I won't be ale to return to the daily format that this collection started out with any time soon, sadly. University keeps me busy and besides that, there are also some other writing projects that I really want to get into this year (+ my overall main project in the fandom). But ! I want to try to upload something in here at least once a month.
Hopefully I will be able to stick to that plan, haha...
MarYu [Zenji Marui x Yuki Yoshino] - One of my oldest headcanons is that Yuki is afraid of thunder. I could imagine she spent a lot of her time in the forest as a child, but of course her parents warned her to never go there during a thunderstorm and to go home instantly should she ever hear distant thunder while in the forest. She therefore associates it with danger, of course, and is terrified of it even when she is in a place safe from it.
Anyway I tried to write something with it...Might pick this up for a longer fic sometime in my life. We'll see.
Just a few moments ago, when it was only raining, Yuki had been giggling and joking around as usual. But then the thunder crashed and all laughter went stuck in her throat as she abruptly flinched.
The terror in her eyes was more than evident. But before the very concerned Zenji could ask if she was okay she already fell into his arms.
Yuki pressed her face against his chest and clutched her arms around him so tight that he'd have surely gotten worried over his air supply if all of his attention had not been on her at that moment. With her clinging to him like that he could feel her rapid heartbeat after all.
Her grip only loosened a little when that first thunder-roll passed. But she still remained in her cowering position, unable to tear herself away from the safety of his arms that he had wrapped around her by now.
"Yoshino." He mumbled. "Are you afraid of thunder?" She did not give an answer but he had not expected any in the first place.
Instead he only began to soothingly rub her back.
He knew that once the storm outside was over, that she'd apologise for having crashed into him so suddenly while he'd reassure her that it was fine but then apologise in return for having hugged her just like that.
But that was a concern for later. Right now he just wanted to calm her as much as he could.
