Jiraiya, Tsunade and Orochimaru stood in the middle of a desolated area. Many fallen hidden leaf ninja scattered about the battlefield. The rain was heavy and unyielding.
"Our techniques aren't working..." Said Orochimaru, while Tsunade helped Jiraiya steady himself. "Is this it?" Jiraiya thought as he gritted his teeth. The three warriors looked upon a man standing atop a massive salamander.
"I predict the Hidden Leaf shall emerge victorious from this battle... Therefore, I shall let you three live." This warrior relaxed his stance slightly as he looked down on these three worthy opponents.
"I, Hanzo, hereby dub you the 'Hidden leaf's Sannin'."
After these words were spoken, a strange smoke began to swirl up from the ground between the ninja. The swirling was dark and began to form a shape slowly.
"What is the meaning of this?" Hanzo spoke.
"We are not responsible for this!" Jiraiya replied, just as confused as the leader of the hidden mist village.
The smoke took form of a man and then finally dissipated, what was left was a warrior in green armor. Some sort of classic battle armor that had been long since retired. It was slightly damaged and appeared to be stained with blood, some of the blood was being washed off by the intense rain but the majority of it seemed to have become part of the armor now.
Glowing red eyes appeared on the figure, it turned to look at the massive salamander and the man on top of it. Then the green warrior turned to look at the three ninja across from him.
It was at this moment that Tsunade noticed the mark on the top of his hood. She could barely make it out, but she was positive of what mark it was. That mark had haunted her dreams many times. The strange mark left behind when her grandfather had been found murdered.
"Incorrect..." A single word from this mysterious person.
"MURDERER!" Tsunade cried out. The other two Sannin looked at Tsunade then back to the unknown warrior.
"Warrior who are you? Why have you come here? Do you seek a fight?" Hanzo asked, the unknown party didn't reply however. This green warrior just turned and began to walk away from the battlefield.
"How dare you disrespect me like this! Do you know who I am?!" Hanzo dashed off of his salamander and threw an attack from his kusarigama at this warrior. The green demon caught the end of the chain immediately and yanked. This caused Hanzo to fly forward into the warrior. The Demon then predicted Hanzo's next move perfectly and performed a spinning hook kick. This kick was aimed behind him and it struck its mark, hitting Hanzo directly in his facemask, causing him to stumble and knocking his facemask off.
An immediate follow up attack was given by the Demon. His arm coming down on Hanzo's mispositioned leg. There was a defining crack that could be heard across the battlefield. Hanzo cried out in pain and then looked up at the warrior who was now standing over him. A final blow was given to Hanzo. A backhand across his now bare face. The gauntlet ripping some flesh from his face and leaving a nasty wound. Hanzo dropped and lay motionless on the ground.
"I have not come for you... But I can add you to my list" The green warrior spoke. He then turned his glowing red eyes to the Sannin, who looked on in horror. The Kage Killer raised a hand slowly and pointed directly at Tsunade. "We will meet again..."
The legendary Sannin popped a smoke bomb and escaped successfully. All three warriors terrified of this unknown person who had taken down Hanzo in three moves. When they themselves couldn't beat him. After finally finding shelter from the rain, Tsunade explained what the mark was, and how she knew in her heart that person was responsible for the First Hokages, Her Grandfathers, death.
The Sannin believed that Hanzo was slain on that day. That was however not the case. Hanzo was later found by people from the mist and he returned home. He made a recovery but was left with a small scar on his face. Not many people know this, but he also walked with a slight limp for the rest of his life.
The Sannin carried on as usual, the two returned back to village without Jiraiya as he stayed to help the orphans. When Tsunade returned, she reported what had been seen and a massive case and investigation was created.
The Kage Killer was present during the second great ninja war, but it is unknown who he had arrived for. His mark was documented in quite a few battles, but ultimately nobody very important was slain during this war.
There stood a massive sarcophagus in the center of a small room with strange symbols on it. The camera pans to the outside of the room where two guards stood, standing "watch" over the strange object.
"This is always the easiest shift. So relaxing compared to the border duty..." One of the ninja guards said.
"Oh, I know, and the paperwork for this is always so easy. You just write. 'Nothing happened' haha" both guards shared a laugh.
They continued to chat it up as carefree as ever, unaware of what was taking place inside the small room. A hand shot through the front of the sarcophagus with a loud crack and then retreated back inside. The two guards laughed and then looked to the small room. "Hey! You keep it down in there!" One of the guards said jokingly, believing the sound they had heard was just a figment of their imagination.
Another crash was heard from inside the room. This time both guards knew they had heard something. Was it someone playing a prank? "Alright listen I don't know what's going on in here..." one of them said as he opened the door slowly.
"But it needs to st-ergh"
As the door opened. A gauntlet-clad hand grabbed the ninja by the throat. There stood a warrior in tattered green battle armor and a cracked facemask. Glowing red eyes appeared from behind the visor and the person tilted his head slightly. He spoke, only a single word, but chilling nonetheless.
"Hokage"
