"It's getting bad out there," Eddie commented as she peeked through the window of their bedroom to glance at the snow covered streets of their neighborhood. She couldn't help but shiver and tie her robe a little tighter around her.

"It's suppose to last into Tuesday," Jamie responded, scrolling through the weather app on his phone as he still laid in bed. "Almost thirty inches by the end of it according to this."

"Thirty?!" she exclaimed as she climbed back into bed next to him and glanced at his phone. "Thank God that we don't go back in until Wednesday. Aren't you happy that I told you that we should put in for a few days off?"

They had just gotten back the night before from a few relaxing days in Upstate New York. They'd been running on empty for awhile after working non-stop for almost an entire year. Two or three day weekends weren't cutting to what they actually needed anymore. It was something they hated to admit but knew it needed to be done to preserve their sanity and to reconnect with one another.

"We definitely needed it," Jamie said. He lifted her hand and brushed a kiss across her knuckles. "And we need to do it more often."

"That we do," she agreed.

"Officially a Winter Storm Warning," he read as a notification flashed on his phone.

"I'm guessing no family dinner today?" she asked.

"I would think so," he replied. "The weather will be too bad around that time. I'm sure Dad and Pop won't want any of us on the road."

"Even though I hate the circumstances, it just occurred to me that this is the first Sunday in a long time where it's just me and you."

"It actually is," he realized. "And I think I know the exact way we should spend it."

Jamie chunked his phone onto his nightstand. She let out a small gasp as he grabbed at her legs and gave a slight tug, landing her on her back then pulled her under him.

"Of course, this is where your mind goes," she said as she wrapped her hands around his biceps. "What about breakfast? I'm hungry!"

"Ten minutes and then I'll make you whatever you want," he offered.

"Five," she countered.

"That's fine with me," he relented immediately. "I only need a good three anyways."

"Oh my god," she laughed.

Later, after a long shower together and hearty breakfast of pancakes, bacon and eggs, they were cuddled up under a blanket, sprawled across the couch watching a movie that they weren't paying too much attention to. He laid on his back with her tucked into his side having a leg in between his. She had an arm slung across his middle with her head on his shoulder while he ran his hand up and down her back.

"You sleepy?" he asked as she let out a yawn.

"A little," she responded. "You?"

"Same," he replied.

"You know what I was thinking?"

"Hm?"

"Instead of the usual New Year's resolutions that people try to do, I want to make a list of goals for us this year."

"A list of goals?"

"Like what do we want to accomplish this year for both of us? I have a few things I'm thinking of already."

"Okay," he drawled out, not knowing exactly where the conversation was headed. "What did you have in mind?"

"For starters, I want to make us a priority. Sometimes, work just overtakes us and it shouldn't be that way. We need to make more of an effort to do things for us. Get dressed up and have a fancy dinner. Be lazy around the house all day. And at least every other month or two, we need to take a weekend for ourselves and get out of town. Or just stay the night in a hotel in the city."

"You're right," he said. "And I agree. We do need to do that. And I promise that we will."

"Thank you," she replied as she stretched up and pressed a kiss to his cheek. "Do you have one?"

"I want to add on to yours. Once a month, we need to go out and do something that we haven't done before."

"Like?"

"Something crazy and adventurous," he said as excitement rose in his voice. "Like skydiving."

"Woah. Woah," she responded as she sat up and looked down at him. "You want to go skydiving?"

Jamie nodded, "Doesn't that sound like fun?"

Eddie shook her head, "I think you've officially gone insane."

He laughed and pulled her back down, "It's just a suggestion."

"I know. I'm down for crazy and adventurous but not something like that just yet. Let's build up to that. Deal?"

"Deal," he responded.

"Do you have a goal that doesn't involve us jumping from a plane that's thirteen thousand feet in the air?"

He pondered for a moment. "Finding us a house," he finally responded.

"You want to get a house?" she asked. "I know we've talked about it but I'm just surprised that you're ready to do it."

"Yeah. I mean, we've been talking about it for awhile and since we paid off my student loans, we've been able to save enough for a down payment. More than enough actually."

"Well... where would we move to?"

"Somewhere not too far from the two-nine but there's not much of a variety of actual homes, mainly condos."

"Just throwing this out there but I wouldn't mind looking in Bay Ridge."

He looked at her in surprise. "You wouldn't mind Bay Ridge?"

She smiled. "Yeah. Who wouldn't want to live in Bay Ridge? It's a great place. Pretty safe neighborhood. Your Dad and Henry are close by. What's not to love? It's also a good place to raise a family... whenever that time comes for us."

He nodded, "I agree with you. I would love that. I'll pull out my laptop later so we can get an idea of our possibilities. What kind of house would you want?"

"Realistically, I'd be happy if we got anything. I know how the market is, especially with trying to get a house there. But ideally, at least four bedrooms, a nice kitchen, a big backyard, maybe a pool if possible?"

"You've put some thought into this, haven't you?"

A small blush rose to her cheeks as she nodded. "Yeah," she said shyly. "It's important."

He couldn't help but press a kiss to the side of her head, "I know. It's important to me too."

"I want it to be our forever home," she added. "No moving after that. I moved a lot when I was young and I wouldn't want to do that again or put our kids through it. It's not fair."

He nodded in agreement. "We won't," he assured her. "We wouldn't do that. I wouldn't put us through it unless we had no choice."

"Good," she replied.

"Do you have another one?"

"Mmm, yeah," she said. "This is one that would hopefully happen next year but I figured I should tell you since you're technically needed to do this. Uh... I want to have a baby."

"You do?" he asked. They'd had the baby conversation a few months back and she had been insistent on waiting to see on what happened with the sergeant's exam to determine when they should have a baby. "When?"

"I want to be pregnant before the end of the year or the beginning of the next," she responded.

"I thought you wanted to wait to see if you get the promotion?"

"I did..." she responded. "And a little bit of me still wants too. But then, who knows when that will be? The test isn't until next spring. And it could take longer for me to me to get promoted after that. I don't want to wait too much longer. We're not getting any younger either. Do you not want to?"

"No. No," he said immediately as he tightened his grip around her. "Trust me, Eddie. I want to have a baby too and will do it with you every day of the week to make it happen. But I don't want you to have to push back on what you want to do in your career just for us to have a baby. I don't mind waiting another year or two."

"I know that. But I want to do it. I've thought about it for awhile now. I can still move up in my career and be a mom too. Look at Cora, she's kicking ass with the detective squad and is about to give birth. I know our situations are completely different but if she can do it, then so can I."

"I have no doubt in my mind that you could do it," he said with certainty. "If you're one hundred percent sure about it... then let's do it."

She looked up at him and flashed a sleepy smile, "Let's do it."
