Chapter 217: Meeting with the Pack Part 2

Paul was the first one to come in through the door. He was walking very heavily as if it was hard for him to even walk. He was covered in dirt and leaves. He had scratches all over his face and chest. I saw three lines of claw marks on his chest, but they were healing quickly. I saw some splatters of blood on his chest too.

Honestly, my face was a bit pale from seeing how Paul was presented. I knew it would be bad, but I didn't think it would be this bad. Also, seeing how quickly Paul was healing was scary too. I knew in the books, they were healing really quick, but this is some scary shit there. Yeah, I know they are supernatural, but still. It's one thing to experience it and another to imagine it.

Paul looked up to me, and he said pleadingly, "I'm sorry. I was being an ass and inconsiderate. I won't say stuff like that again."

My expression softened, so I said, "it's okay, Paul. Apology accepted.…Go wash yourself, then you can have some food, okay?"

He nodded mutely, and I heard Sam coming behind him and saying, "used the guest's bathroom. Not my personal bathroom."

Paul nodded without turning back and disappeared toward the direction of the other bathroom. I glanced at Sam, and he was covered in dirt, but he wasn't roughened up like Paul. He somehow gotten himself some pants. His eyes were glowing gold very brightly, so I knew better to not pick a fight right now. I'll talk to Sam about it once he calms down a bit more because it looks like to me that he is still pretty tensed.

Trying to lighten up the mood, I offered my brownie to him, so I asked, "w-want some?"

He looked at it for a moment before nodding his head with a small smile. I sighed in relief, and I gave him his plate of brownies and I reheated his leftovers before giving it to him. I also took the time to reheat Paul's portions, and I left it out for him by the counter. He nudges his head toward the dining room, and I understood that he wanted me to follow him. I followed after him curiously while the guys followed behind us quietly. We all sat down in our respective seat. Sam was eating silently as we waited for him to speak.

When Paul came out of the shower, I said, "I reheated your portions. Its by the counter."

He nodded and went to fetch it. Paul came back and sat down silently. His head was hung lowly, and Paul muttered something under his breath, but I didn't catch it. Sam understood, and he nodded to Paul.

Sam said in between bites, going in his alpha mode, "so, I am going to continue what we left off. The guys consented to this idea, and they are all for it. Bella as well. She wasn't able to come because she is stayed back at the Black's residence for Sue to take blood from her, then she had to go back home to cook dinner for Charlie."

I nodded. It makes sense. If she stayed any longer here, then Charlie would start getting suspicious.

Sam continued, "Ale mentioned that Bella did something that it would possibly bring the Cullens back to Forks, but as long as we keep our eyes on her, then it'll be fine."

There was a collective growl among the pack with Paul being the loudest. Sam finishes off by saying, "Thus, until that red-headed bitch is destroyed, Bella would be staying with the imprints."

Jared growled, "do we have to? Bella , no offense, brings trouble every where she goes. I don't want her to be near Kim..when she is very close to her due date. Do you feel comfortable leaving her with Ale, Sam?"

Sam sighed, "I don't but we have to put our feelings to aside for the greater good. This is the best thing to do for Bella and for us."

He turned his head toward me, and he asked me, "do you mind?"

I shook my head, "no..I don't mind. It would be easier. So, all wolves be at in the forest when we trap Victoria. Unless Seth phases by then, it would be better to keep him by the reservation."

I can also talk to Bella, too. Sam nodded, "Exactly. Do you have any suggestions Ale to take down Victoria?"

I feel a little shy talking like in a conference meeting, so I shoved my anxiousness down and said, "…use the trees to your advantage. Hasn't Victoria been using the trees to your disadvantage? I don't know where you guys are planning the trap, but maybe you guys can place nets at the top of the trees to narrowing her path to escape? Also, you guys can also use the trees to your advantage too. I know…being in your human form while fighting might leave you vulnerable, but if your phasing is fluid then you can use the trees as support to jump then phase midair to grab Victoria and vice versa. Use the forest and the ability to phase in and out of the wolf form to your advantage is what I'm trying to say."

Sam had a contemplative look on his face while the guys either were shocked or contemplative as Sam. Embry spoke up first, "..that could work.. Quil's dad used to fish out to the see. We can ask Old Quil if they still have any fishing nets left, and we could borrow them."

Sam stated, "that's a good idea. I can ask. Thanks, Em."

Embry's ears were red, but he nodded. Jared said, "about the phasing part… the only ones who can do that is Paul and Sam. Maybe Jake too? It looks like Jake can if he practices a little more. My phasing isn't as quick nor fluid as those three."

Embry added, "same here."

Sam nodded silently as he was taking this all in, and then Paul started bringing up strategy, and they all talked among themselves. I sort of lost track with what they were talking about. Kim excused herself from the dining table to go nap in the living room. I then remembered about the chocolate cookies that Kim made. I grabbed them from the kitchen, reheat them, and brought them to the dining area. I quietly placed them in table, and they immediately grabbed them as they continued to talk. Sam nodded in gratitude, and I gave a small smile in return. It felt like my role was done here, but I appreciated that Sam let me hear most of the pack talk and try to get me involved as much he wants me to. I think I was pretty involved for the first pack meeting. It was pretty intimidating to be put on the spot, but I think I did okay.

I left to follow after Kim. She was sitting down on the couch, and she sighed in exhaustion.

I asked worriedly, "are you okay?"

She said softly, "yeah..just tired. These days I get more tired easily, and I sometime experiences my Braxton-hicks. I just experienced one during the pack meeting, so I wanted to get out to not distract Jared, but I am okay. The baby won't be coming anytime soon."

Ohh..okay. I placed the blanket over her, and she fell asleep instantly. She was actually snoring loudly, but I didn't mind. I was grateful that she helped me out tonight with shopping and baking cookies. I felt my eye lids feeling heavily, and I closed my eyes and slept away.

I was woken up with someone carrying me. I turned my head up, and it was Sam. He looked down at me tiredly, and he said softly, "sorry, did I wake you up?"

I yawned, " It's.. fine."

He placed me gently in the bed, and I quickly wrapped myself snuggly with the blankets. Yay. Nice, cool bed. I think he went to the bathroom to shower. I let my mind wander, and I think I was waiting for him to get on. Being with him these past few days, I have gotten used to having someone being in bed with me. It won't feel right when I don't have him in bed with me. I eventually felt him got on, and he pulled me closer to him. I snuggled closely under his arms, and I was using his arm as a pillow. I look up to him, and he glanced down at me curiously. I said slurring in sleepiness, "today..was fun."

He whispered, "that's great to hear, hon..I saw you interacted with the pack. I'm proud of you, and the guys really like you."

I nodded, and whispered, "thanks."

He gave me a kiss on the head and then I was reminded about Embry and Paul.

I said tiredly, "Sam?"

"Hm?"

"..about Paul..I get you need to punish Paul for your wolf spirit's sake but..how come you had to punish Paul that severely?"

"because he offended you, Ale. Not only he made that comment, he even spoke to you in that fucking tone. I don't put up with that, and he didn't even man up to go apologize while you were outside alone? Fuck that. Even though the man slowly came to realization of his actions. His wolf spirit hasn't. He won't attack you, but he was still bitter and angry. I still smelled defiance from his wolf, so I had to punish him accordingly."

"oh.."

"yeah…you think I take pleasure in that?"

"No! it's not that..I thought you took it a little too far due to your anger… and I wasn't sure why everyone else thought it was perfectly normal."

"hm..I can see where you were confused. You haven't seen me punish my pack before, so I guess it scared you a little, huh?"

"yeah.."

"it's normal for them and especially with Paul. His temper's is the worst, so I had to be more rough with him than the others. He had the hardest time adjusting being a wolf."

"I see.."

"Yeah…any other questions?"

"..what about Em, Sam?"

"..I'll tell him sometime this week. Now its not the greatest time to tell him. He won't be focused during our plan."

"hmm..okay."

"yeah..it's gonna be okay. Don't worry."

I nodded mutely, so I said, "okay, good night."

He kissed me on my forehead, and he said, "night."
