Kenji felt light hit his eyelids as he slowly stirred into consciousness... he'd probably overslept again, but he didn't bother to get up in a hurry, his Sensei was notorious for being late to every meeting so he shouldn't be blamed for following his teacher's footsteps. Kakashi had put him to extra work yesterday... training to manipulate the Kyuubi's chakra without losing himself was nothing short of exhausting. The only form of comfort he had was that the process wasn't any easier on Naruto. and while he admired the work ethic of his roommate, teammate, fellow Jinchuriki and friend,he was still fifteen years old and there was only so much his body could take in one day,so they called it quits after a full day if training without any notable breaks.
For those who are wondering,Kenji didn't contain a different tailed beast,he actually contained his own version of the Kyuubi. A few weeks prior to the night when the Fourth Hokage sealed the nine tails, a child was found at the village's gate without anyone to claim it, being the compassionate leader he was,the Fourth placed the child in care of his wife for a few days before it was placed in an orphanage. When the nine tails attack eventually happened, the Fourth sealed the beast into the infant Naruto but then realized that one human vessel wouldn't be enough to hold such an amount of chakra. He then resorted to sealing a fraction of the Kyuubi's chakra inside the second infant as well before ultimately dying a hero. Eventually, that small amount of Chakra evolved as time passed and eventually morphed into a second version of the Kyuubi, making Kenji the second Jinchuriki of konoha.
Eventually the child grew and was placed into Team 7 along with Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura, seeing as the academy had a surplus one student and they couldn't fail the boy simply because of a squad shortage. He shared an apartment with Naruto and went on missions with Team 7, slowly but steadily refining his skills as a Shinobi. After the incident with Sasuke, which left the Kenji almost handicapped, Naruto left the leaf with Jiraiya to travel the Shinobi continent and become strong enough to bring their rogue nin teammate back, Sakura asked Lady Tsunade to take her in as a student, which she agreed to,and Kenji was left to heal from his injuries... being the only one left on the team,he decided to stick with Kakashi and to his surprise, being a sole student wasn't as bad as he thought... quite the contrary, there was a lot Kakashi knew but had hidden from the rest of the team for reasons best known to him. Spending two years under the tutelage of the Copy Ninja had sharpened Kenji's skills quite a lot... he'd improved at Chakra control, elemental ninjutsu and Taijutsu. That's not to mention information gathering and infiltration... during the time of his training, he'd also been gifted the rank of Chūnin by Lady Tsunade, though she'd made it clear that he was given the post for his contribution to the Sasuke retrieval mission, coupled with the fact that the leaf had lost a lot of personnel during the attack on the Chūnin exams... but about a week ago, Naruto returned and Team 7 was once again reunited. The excited exchange between the teammates knew no end,but soon it was back to training... this time, for the Jinchurikis to manipulate the chakra of the tailed beasts they both contained, but also avoid losing themselves. It was a daunting task to say the least, hours and hours of sparring and chakra control exercises... Kenji could barely keep up and all he wanted after the session was to sleep for months.
After a while,he decided to turn on his side, only for his face to cone in contact with... concrete?
'What in the name of...'
Kenji was surprised to say the least when he sat up and saw himself in what looked like a street... or to be more specific,an alleyway.
This was definitely not the apartment he shared with Naruto.
Looking around, all he saw was houses, but none looked familiar, heck, the entire environment looked different. Getting to his feet, his knees made a slight popping sound, signifying that he'd lay down for quite a while. He looked around and saw buildings that practically all looked alike, all contained inside a massive wall that seemed to be endless.
Looking around in wonder, the Jinchuriki knew wherever he was,he was not anywhere near konoha anymore.
After walking around for about thirty minutes,Kenji realized that this place was slightly primitive compared to the Leaf. It seems they had no electricity here cause looking upwards,he saw no wires or electric poles. How had these people survived this long? yes,the Leaf was ahead of the other villages but at least even the hidden Mist village had electricity...
'And they're completely surrounded by water,so that's saying something'
Kenji also noticed passers by giving him some weird looks,it wasn't the look of pure hatred he was used to seeing from the villagers day by day... in this case they looked at him as if he foreign, which he apparently was. He assumed it was cause of his skin color; he was light skinned and often got mistaken for either a native of the cloud village or a relative of the First Hokage, when in truth, Kenji himself didn't know where he originated from, neither did the Fourth,or the returning Third Hokage who was now deceased. Kenji's origin and bloodline remained a mystery to the inhabitants of konoha, himself included. That singular fact made the villagers refer to him as a monster as well as an outsider, adding to the boy's childhood burden. Funny enough,Kenji actually had a few strands of his hair bundled together and brought forward in two strings to fall on either side of his forehead, giving him an even bigger resemblance to the First Hokage, safe for the fact that Kenji's skin was slightly darker. He also sported a pair of honey brown eyes in contrast to most of Konoha's population.
Then again there was the matter of his clothes, which he'd been too lazy to change out of the previous night. Kenji still had his black hoodie on with his green Chūnin vest over it,his dark grey pants covering his lower half and hanging at his ankles over the classic blue Shinobi sandals, not to mention his leaf village headband which was firmly tied to his forehead.
Overall,he looked out of place in this town.
After deliberating countless times in his head,he decided to swallow his natural nervousness and ask about his location. Turning to a stall,he greeted the lady who seemed to be in charge.
"Where am I exactly?"
"You don't know where you are?" the lady raised an eyebrow. Kenji shook his head and the woman saw honesty in his expression.
"You're currently in Trost"
"Trost?" the Chūnin parroted.
What was that?
He had never heard of this place in his life but the lady seemed so sure when she said it. He pressed on for an answer that at least made sense to him.
"What country is this?"
"Pardon?"
"You know, what country is 'Trost' situated in?" Kenji asked. Hopefully, this land wasn't too far from the land of fire. Unfortunately, that was not to be.
"Young man," The woman began. "Trost is a district,it's located in the south part of Wall Rose"
'Wall Rose? What is she talking about?'
"How do I get to the land of fire from here?" Kenji asked the most pressing question.
"The land of fire?" the lady asked. "What is that?"
"The land of fire is one of the five elemental nations" The Chūnin explained.
"I'm sorry my dear, but I've heard of no such place" the woman shook her head.
Kenji was now confused. How did she not know about the land of fire? According to Kakashi,it was the strongest among the elemental nations. And she mentioned them being somewhere called Wall Rose. The name somehow added up seeing as the entire city was surrounded by a looming wall. He was never the studious type,so he never really knew much about these things, but he had never heard of any of those names. Kenji ran his hands through his hair as genuine confusion rushed over the teenager.
What was going on?
Where was he? How had he even ended up here?
Sorry if it's too short... I've been writing a lot lately and u didn't want to be lazy just after starting this book so I decided to scribble something down. I'm still watching Attack On Titan so these updates may take a while, but I'm definitely gonna update as soon as I can... Hopefully someone actually finds the time to read this.
But for now,Sayonara!
