COLLISION COURSE

It'd been three days since Kenji woke up in the strange land known as Trost. He'd eventually found shelter in a refugee settlement on his second day here,so at least he had a place to stay and get food (though temporary) but his knowledge on what was going on was still close to zero. He'd been hearing talks about some beings called Titans that apparently plagued this land, which was probably the reason for the wall.

'It kinda makes sense now... they don't have chakra so they can't use ninjutsu,so naturally they'd try to barricade themselves...'

Kenji walked around the district the same way he'd been doing for days now. He'd made no headway in finding a way home and from the looks of it, he was a long way from the land of fire and Shinobi continent as a whole. As hard as that possibility was to accept,it seemed to be the only logical one to hold on to.

The recently appointed Chūnin walked around with his original outfit, safe for his headband which was tucked away in his pouch. He honestly felt a twinge without having the iconic headband around his head but he knew it was necessary not to draw any attention to himself, especially after his encounter with that guard three days ago. Somehow,he knew that guy would be on the lookout for him and he wasn't ready to answer any questions, especially since he had a lot of questions himself.

Walking around the streets of the Trost district,he lazily shoved his hands into his pockets, thinking about the consequences of sending a Shadow Clone over that wall to scout the area. While it did seem that would be pretty helpful, the downside to that plan was that, unlike his hyperactive best friend, Kenji could create only a few shadow clones at a time,so they wouldn't be able to cover as much ground as he'd like them to. Besides,if that Ian guy said there was no other human life outside the walls,as a guard and a native of this settlement he must've had a good idea of what he was talking about.

He must've been really far from the elemental nations.

He missed the Leaf village, the forests and trees everywhere,Ichiraku ramen and how Naruto would practically drag him to the shop get a bowl... or seven,Sakura and her constant chattering, getting barbeque with Shikamaru and Choji, Kakashi's laid back attitude as Kenji and the team would scream at him for reading perverted books in full view of everyone, Grandma Fifth (This was the endearing name he and Naruto chose to call Lady Tsunade) and the thrill of going on missions with Team 7. It was hard not to miss his home, especially when he woke up what seemed to be miles away from any of the elemental nations, with apparently no way to return or even navigate through this part of the world.

While Kenji weighed his options, the sky was suddenly decorated with a yellow bolt of lightning, followed by a deafening boom that shook the entire district and made a cloud of smoke materialize, apparently from outside the wall. A few seconds later, a gigantic head appeared, peering over the wall, it's eyes dead and spelling nothing but doom as it looked down on the inhabitants of Trost who seemed soaked in pure fear. Time seemed to stand still as the skinless head loomed over the wall. Kenji himself was shocked by the mere size of the giant.

"What the... that thing's almost as big as the Kyuubi..." he whispered in disbelief, recalling the events surrounding his and Naruto's fight with Gaara. This freak of nature apparently had no skin, just muscle and bones. The teenager, though frozen by shock, was also intrigued by the strange giant; Is this why the people of Trost had the walls? What were that thing's intentions? Could it speak?

All these questions would remain unanswered for the moment as another loud boom followed. Once the thick cloud of dust cleared, it was discovered that a hole was blown into the bottom part of the wall, specifically the gate.

A split second later, absolute chaos ensued.

Pandemonium engulfed the city as men, women and children all scrambled to whatever safety they could find. Barrels fell over as children tried to hide themselves in them, doors shutting and opening as some rushed indoors for safety.

Kenji considered it a miracle that he wasn't trampled amidst all the chaos as he ran in the same direction as the others, but with a different objective in mind; The boy ducked into an alley on his right and quickly scanned the area with his eyes, luckily people were too hysterical to look in his direction so the Jinchuriki channelled chakra to his feet and sent himself up to the roof of the building on his left. As he ran on the roof, now away from the eyes of the public, his gaze once again caught the skinless giant in front of the wall...

'So this is what a titan looks like...'

Eren fired his ODM gear one more time, the hook latching on to the collosal titan's arm and letting the Yeager sprint across the gigantic limb, determined to end the massive abomination once and for all. Firing his hook,he latched onto the back of the Titan and sprinted a few more feet before firing a his ODM gear one more time, gaining access to it's upper back. The wires pulled him upwards, soon giving him a full view of the nape.

Eren's blood galloped through his veins as he raised his left sword, determination and anger overtaking his system.

"Take this!!"

As Eren's sword was merely inches away from the nape,a cloud of steam enveloped both him and the collosal titan's form and blocking the teenager's vision, accompanied by air pressure that threatened to knock Eren away, but the boy pressed on and fired his ODM gear yet again, determined to end this monstrous creature there and then. Once the momentary steam cleared however, Eren found himself alone, the collosal titan gone without a trace.

"What...? How did I miss?"

The Yeager fired his hooks and latched onto the wall to keep himself from plummeting but his shock wasn't any less.

"Did he just vanish into thin air?" Eren asked.

"Eren!" his teammate called from atop the wall. "Did he get away or did you take him out?"

"He's gone!" Eren called back. "He's here one second... and gone the next, just like that."

Firing his hook again,Eren pulled himself to the top of the wall to meet his fellow Cadets.

"I'm sorry..." Eren started.

"Don't apologize," the blonde said. "Look at us, we were scared stiff."

"Hey, wallow on your own time!" came Connie's voice. "In case you didn't notice, there's a giant hole in the gate, we've gotta act fast."

"Hey!"

They all turned just in time to find a Garrison soldier landing on the wall. "We've gotta get you three to HQ. If you saw the thing then we're going to need all the details we can get."

All three Cadets saluted. "Yes sir!"

As he sprinted and leapt across the rooftops,Kenji began to see a few more of them... though not as big as the first one he'd seen, but still massive compared to a human being, some had sick smiles plastered across their faces. The pandemonium going on below made him remember the Chūnin exams, Orochimaru's attack and the deaths that ensued that day. The leaf village had lost a lot of lives that day... and Kenji himself had lost the closest thing he had to a father figure.

'Grandpa Third...'

Kenji's eyes hardened in determination as his legs carried him faster, his arms pulled behind him as his frame leaned forward.

Never again... He would never let anything like that happen again,no matter where he found himself.

He couldn't stop the sound ninja invasion back then, but he'd stop the Titan invasion now.

Kenji stopped in his tracks and reached into his pouch, feeling the fabric of his favorite accessory and personal belonging before fishing it out and quickly tying it around his head.

Home or not,he was still a Ninja of the leaf... and he'd carry that mark anywhere.

A man was running from a Titan which was about twelve meters tall, unfortunately for him,his speed was nothing compared to the wide strides of the Titan who was in pursuit of him without even trying. The man's luck ran out when he tripped over his own feet and fell face down. The Titan wasted no time to grab it's newest victim who was currently thrashing and screaming wildly, mostly uttering incoherent words that seemed to be born out of pure desperation.

The man was brought face to face with the Titan who looked dead in the eyes at it's prey before bringing him close. The man's eyes were already closed, resigning himself to his death and hoping that it would end very quickly...

*SLICE!*

The middle aged man fell to the floor to his utmost surprise, still in the currently amputated hand of the Titan who currently stepped backwards and writhed in pain. Looking around for the soldier that saved his life, the man was surprised to see a civilian crouched in front of him an apparently staring down the Titan. The man's shock was doubled when the civilian turned to face him, revealing a slightly dark skinned boy who looked like he was in his mid teens at the very most. Aside his strange garb which consisted of a black headband with a metal plate and a green vest over a black hoodie, the fact that this boy sliced off a Titan's arm was equally strange as well as shocking. Though looking closer, the man saw the boy wielded a strange sort of weapon; it looked like a detached and elongated spearhead, but the boy held it as if it were a knife or small sword. How he'd made such a swift cut through titan flesh with that strange weapon was beyond the man. The boy's light brown eyes glanced at the man before he uttered a single word.

"Go!"

The man scrambled to his feet and made to escape, but the thought of a child facing a Titan unnerved him,no matter how fearless the kid seemed to be.

"What're you doing, boy?!" The man screamed. "You'll get killed!"

"I know what I'm doing," The boy raised his voice only slightly. "Just run away from here."

The man had no time to reply as the boy leaped forward at an impossible height at the Titan who was already regenerating, fishing out a second weapon from a small bag strapped to his grey pants. Once he got to the Titan, the boy raised his spear-like weapons and made two diagonal slashes st the Titan's chest, earning a painful scream from the freak of nature as it fell to the ground.

The boy landed on the other side just in time to see the holes he'd created emit steam and the Titan slowly standing up.

"What the hell...?"

"What're you doing?!" The man called out as the Titan slowly found it's footing and faced the kid. "If you wanna take it out so bad then go for the nape of it's neck! That's the weak spot!"

The kid's eyes widened at this revelation and he nodded in understanding, setting himself up for another attack as the Titan faced him fully and moved towards him. The strange child crouched down for a split second before taking off again; this time the man was left speechless as the kid seemingly defied gravity and ran on the walls of one of the buildings surrounding them, but immediately dismissed the idea. The kid probably used his momentum to step on the walls for support.

Once the boy maneuvered his way behind the Titan, all it took was another jump to it's upper back and two more diagonal slashes with the same spear-like weapons; a few seconds later, the Titan was seen disintegrating into nothing but steam as it's body fell to the ground and melted before them both.

"Woah..." the boy whispered in disbelief.

"First time taking one down?" the man asked.

"... Yeah..." the kid answered, still looking at the now almost melted carcass.

"Thank you" The man said. "I have no idea what I would've done..."

"It's okay, really.." The dark skinned boy answered. "Just stay safe... And thanks for the tip"

The man nodded. "Don't mention it."

The kid flashed a grin before hopping onto a roof and disappearing from the man's sight, leaving him in awe.

"Conrad,of all the weird things you've seen in your life..." He scratched his head as he walked off.

Female Cadet's POV:

She'd been following Eren on his pursuit of the Titan that swallowed their teammates, she saw him narrowly dodge a bite from a Titan, causing him to slip and roll across the rooftops, eventually crashing on one. Distracted by the recent events, she lost focus when her line got grabbed by a titan and she got pulled back causing her to slam her back against a wall.

Stunned by the impact, she didn't notice a Titan was right above her until it was too late. She screamed as she got picked up by the midsection, fear making he claw at the Titan's fingers to no avail.

So this was how she'd die? on her first day as a Cadet... she hadn't even chosen a regiment yet and she'd be listed as a mere casualty.

"No... God please,no..." she whispered as she hovered high above the ground and close to the Titan's open mouth, tears already clouding her vision. "It can't end like this... No..."

'Please...'

"Chidori!"

Her eyes snapped open as she head a voice call out a word she'd never heard before, followed by the sound of loud birds chirping, except there were no visible birds. Suddenly she saw a blood splatter from behind the Titan's head, followed by steam. Recovering from her shock and using the opportunity, the dark haired girl pulled herself out of the now limp hold of the freshly killed Titan, letting herself fall a few feet before firing her ODM gear and latching herself to a nearby wall. Looking at the head Titan, she saw someone emerge from the steam.

Once they got closer, she realized it was a boy of about her age... and the first thing she noticed was his appearance. The boy had no gear or weapons on him so how had he taken out a titan... singlehandedly?

"Need a little help?" he said, looking up at her.

Author's Note: Sorry this took so long to post, the internet here isn't the best,to put it mildly... so I'm pretty slow in both watching and writing the chapters, but rest assured that the next one's already in progress. I'll answer reviews after this chapter so I can settle down and read them first.

I just hope you guys actually like this chapter... I should probably get some sleep after publishing this.

Sayonara for now,
