Chapter 14.

Ahsoka landed on Onderon soil. She petitioned King Dendup and his advisors to send aid to Bo Katan to help maintain their position on Concordia. To help fight the insurgency building on Mandalore. It would take more than the Onderon Militia to bring The Son and his followers to justice but it was a start and Saw Gerrera was itching for a fight.

Ahsoka's presence commanded the attention of the royal court as she entered the throne room, Saw, Lux and King Dendup were in attendance as she took her time gliding across the marble floor. Pierre had greeted Ahsoka at the hangar and strode behind her. Lux held back a smile as she took a seat in front of them all.

"Lady Tano," King Dendup chimed, "you left in a rush last time. I hope all is well?"

"Likewise, Your Highness. I wish I came under different circumstances," Ahsoka referred to the transmission she has given to Lux and Saw before her arrival.

Lux delicately handled the matter in a way that made Ahsoka feel a deep pull inside her. She knew that it was one of the many qualities she admired about him as he explained the unfolding situation on Concordia.

"Whilst the Jedi no longer hold a militant position in the Republic Army and the Clone Wars are at an end, there is a new rising antagonist that has been known to the Jedi and which Ahsoka and Republic Advisors believe to be the next big threat to the galaxy…" Lux continued to explain that The Son and his following had been located on Mandalore and required immediate assistance however the Republic has yet to send reinforcements.

King Dendup let out a deep breath he had been holding in, "It is difficult to predict how this might affect our people, Senator Bonteri, don't you agree?"

Lux grimaced, "I do but without our assistance now we leave the entire Mandalore system in jeopardy".

King Dendup remained silent and Ahsoka couldn't help but feel defeated as she sunk into her chair.

"I'm afraid that for the safety of our people, I cannot aid your admirable cause, Lady Tano. I am sorry," King Dendup rose immediately and began to leave the room.

Saw jumped to his feet, "Ahsoka helped us once and I intend on returning the favour". Saw made his presence known as he stormed out of the room King Dendup stopped in his tracks in shock.

Ahsoka gathered supplies from the barracks and received word back from Padme and Katooni on Naboo. Padme had agreed to petition the Senate and acting Chancellor Organa to send reinforcements to blockade the Mandalore system. Saw hurriedly gathered his troops, at least the ones Onderon would spare. Saw knew he could be court marshalled and removed from his position but he would rather fight the good fight than being seen running from it. He would be labelled as a terrorist but that was the least of his worries.

Lux caught up to Ahsoka and pulled her aside as she finished speaking with her subordinates under her command as the Lady and Protector of the Royal Family.

"' Soka," he breathed out pulling her to his side and looking into her eyes for the first time since they parted ways.

Ahsoka gazed intently at him, swallowing her feelings as she tried to pull away back to acquiring arms.

"Ahsoka, please, I know you-…" Lux knew better than to plead with Ahsoka to talk about her feelings before she was ready.

Lux tore an empty backpack off the armoury shelves and began filling it with supplies alongside her. Ahsoka breathed in deeply and was silently grateful for his support.

"You know that if you go through with this you won't be able to come back as a Senator. What will you do?" Ahsoka advised.

"Maybe become a farmer," Lux joked, sweeping up his pack and swiftly following Ahsoka.

Ahsoka couldn't help but smile and feel something stir deep inside her that she hadn't felt for a long time.

Obi wan dug himself deep into the force as he was made to stare at the remains of the woman he loved. She refused to meet his gaze. She anxiously teetered her eyes at him and attempted to smile, half of her complexion refusing to cooperate with her. Obi wan wanted nothing more than to reverse time for her as he continued to remain silent, accepting her and thanking the force that he would be able to rekindle his connection with her. She lay weak on the small space of the ship, oxygen strapped to her face as Tech announced their arrival in Alderaan space.

Her eyes locked shut as the ship descended into the atmosphere Obi wan gripped her hand tighter, wrapping his body over hers, protecting her as the ship shook as they broke through the clouds. Hunter and Echo expanded a stretcher and transferred her whilst Rex stayed and laid a hand on Obi wans shoulder.

Obi wan looked at Rex and managed a weak smile as he took his leave leaving Obi wan alone. Obi wan was filled with guilt, a lightsaber stabbing his chest as he was reminded of Satine being impaled by the dark sabre. Her body fell lifeless and her spirit left her body as he escaped with the help of Bo Katan. All he could think was three words and they froze him to his core.

Satine is alive.

The person he grew to love and loathe over many years together. And the person he learnt to hide from the atrocities of war. The person who accepted him for who he was yet still loved him and showed him kindness he could never reciprocate. Satine.

His legs began to move down the ramp faster and faster until he was at her side. She was sitting with the aid of the medical droid, a gown draped over her lap. Her complexion showed signs of life as she smiled at him.

"I knew you'd come," her voice cracked and he captured her in his arms.

He held her and refused to let go. He vowed to himself that he would show her the unconditional love she had shown him. He was no longer the Jedi he used to be and this Obi wan knew. Obi wan knew that she had come home to him and he was not going to let go of her again.
