"Elsa what are you doing with all that fish?" Elsa jumped turning to the question. She remained silent for a moment staring at the ground. Her mouth opened four seconds before she actually began to speak. Her next words made her nearly curse herself to an early grave. "What fish?" Honeymaren raised a brow in sync with her Reindeer Erin.

"The ones you just stuffed in that bag?" Honeymaren pointed to the sack Elsa clutched tightly. Her tone also added the question: Are you going insane? "Oh these fish well um. . ." Elsa smiled patting the sack, her closed fist reached her mouth while she coughed clearing her hoarse throat.

"Dealing with bears." The regret was instant clogging her chest at Honeymaren's stressed eyes. She had heard of bears but never actually encountered them yet. By their description she had tried to convince Yelana and Elsa that the forest was perhaps better without them, they sounded aggressive and large. Not a good combination.

"Need some help?" She sat up on Erin readying her stirrups then jumped at Elsa's quick objection. "It's fine nothing I can't handle." This was just getting worse. Elsa never really knew if she was a good liar or not due to not being one prone to lie. She had that to her advantage at least but still deception was not a action she revelled in and would never understand anyone who did.

Her morality falling by the wayside had dampen her entire Outlook of the day so she quickly turned away and leapt onto Nokk giving a single wave at Honeymaren. Still the alternative was sending the whole village into a panic. They all began to believe she was now just on a devoted wild goose chase for her sister's sake and that the "Monster" was long gone. She'd tell them eventually but for now she had to visit said "monster" and then her sister. Her pupils dilated. Anna. Could she lie to Anna, would it even work? They both were able to read the other with a gained ease down to certain tones to the micro expressions that occured from time to time. She swallowed hard. She needed a plan.

Or maybe she didn't since the very essence of her dismay was nowhere to be found at the moment, she flapped her arms haplessly against her hips.

"Where did she get off too?" She whispered to herself. Bruni began sniffing the ground like a hound then raced up into the trees searching the area with Elsa just below him. Certain she couldn't have gotten far the spirit kept her pace slow, it was surprising how well the animal was at blending into the lush environment.

Once again Elsa was in the wrong and it was barely the afternoon. For her dragon had gotten far on her injured leg and was nowhere in sight. What if she had fallen prey to another animal? No even injured what normal animal would fight a creature able to breathe fire? But then again an animal had fought her at some point that much was obvious from her leg. still why the sudden change in behavior.

Elsa had been here the day before yesterday and the day before that and always found her either resting soaking in the water or licking at her wounds.

"Oh hush you." Elsa scolded softly as she walked into the clearing at the dragon who was growling, she then raised her head from her paws eyeing her, they craned over to the sack Elsa carried over her shoulder. The Spirit lowered the bag with a huff letting it hit the ground causing a thud. It had taken quite a bit of effort and stealth to gather the various meats, and fish Elsa presented. She was reminded of the difficulty everytime the dragon snubbed her offerings hissing. She would then limp away and lick at her wing and leg.

She brought a new variant of food for the past three days but still not a bite was taken. "You must be a youngling of sorts if you're this fussy." She mumbled emptying the bag onto the ground. Triggering an ear appendage to swivel in her direction and growl to gurgle in the air.Looking up she could see her dragon's indignant expression. She raised her hands palms facing forward. "So you're not a youngling? Huh, then you're alot smaller than what I would have thought to be an adult dragon." The dragon's expression did not change. Elsa cringed at it. She had committed the same mishap twice.

Apparently age and size were a sensitive topic for dragons. And humans too she supposed. So Elsa began a little damage control, wrapping her hands behind her back pacing languidly around, her head nodded to the dragon while her eyes averted. "Not to mention how cute you are didn't help in gauging your age." She said casually. The dragon's irises widened and it was her turn to avert gazes. The only thing missing from the sheepish expression was a blush.

"Still fussy though." Elsa whispered loudly, she ambled closer not yet alerting the dragon until her hand raised. Elsa fully expected she would move away hissing but still was disappointed when it actually happened. A loud puff of air escaped her nostrils that resembled white smoke. "It's okay, we just met I understand. Believe it or not I'm not very keen on being touched either." She sat down on the ground. "I won't touch you until you're ready for that, if you'll ever be ready." A few minutes later she felt a large presence beside her. The dragon had seated herself on her haunches, ears not quite lowered but down.

This was the closest she had ever come to Elsa willingly. Elsa smirked staring for only a few moments before watching the rainbow shimmer in the waterfall when a deep exhale escaped her chest that was followed by the dragon's own deep breath.

That had been yesterday and here she thought it was a huge step in the right direction. Now she had been casted ten steps back. After leaving the fish by the water she summoned Nokk at the river's edge, her mood casted down even further started off for Arendelle.

Anna squeezed Kristoff's hand a bit to tightly then released the instant when Elsa entered the courtyard. Anna hugged her with her arms wrapped around Elsa's neck but when she pulled away her smile vanished to nothing at the sight of Elsa's falsified mimick of one.

"You didn't find it? Huh?" Elsa nodded. Anna felt some relief at that but knew Elsa probably felt as if she had failed.

"You still get your super awesome slumber party with Olaf." She couldn't even ask why Elsa seemed so crestfallen before the woman replied. Anna's frown deepened immediately. "Yeah…" Her eyes trailed to Kristoff who shrugged.

After painstakingly not mentioning Elsa's mock enjoyment of the activities Olaf and Sven planned Anna entered Elsa's room. At first it seemed she wasn't in there until she heard a soft. "Where are you?" Come from the balcony. Elsa was leaning against the railing fluttering snowflakes around idly. Anna's eyes followed where Elsa's where casted toward. "Hey." The snowflakes grew exponentially with Elsa's fright. She quickly flicked them away turning. "Anna, what are you still doing up? It's late." Her voice was nurturing.

Anna smiled titling her head slightly at Elsa, the queen didn't have a bedtime but big sisters still had to sister she guessed. She joined her leaning on the rail. "I could ask you same question Els."

"Me?" Elsa pointed to herself, Anna nodded. "I don't know." Anna leaned in. "I think you do." Anna didn't want to bring it up, the creature those eyes still terrified her and she thought of herself to be extremely brave. Maybe Elsa's worry was getting the better of her. "It's fine, I doubt it'll come back." She placed a hand on her sister's shoulder. Elsa raised her own to it. "I'll protect you." Despite the chuckle she said it with she meant it unknowingly stirring up more guilt in her already guilty ridden sibling.

"Anna what if-" Elsa stopped. She was choosing her words carefully. When she found them she faced her. "What if that wasn't an attack?"

Anna shrugged gripping the rail. "I mean- what, I..." Talking seemed difficult for both of them at the moment. "I don't know what else it could have been Elsa. It sure looked like an attack to me."

"But what if it wasn't? You said it yourself, the ones who got hurt were injured accidentally-"

Anna interrupted this time a bit more sternly than before. She had been learning how to firm her words and voice since becoming queen, pushy dignitaries and royals would do that to a person. "Elsa I'm not mad it, but I also have a responsibility to our people and a family to protect." To emphasize her point she poked Elsa's shoulder. "That includes you. I'm happy it's gone to hopefully wherever it came from."

"I know Anna, like you I agree she didn't-"

"She?" Elsa flushed at Anna's sharp inquiry. "Well- I mean-"

"Why did you say she?" She inched closer resembling a cat to Elsa who reflexively backed away similar to a mouse. Then the pieces fell together. "You found it!" It wasn't a question, Elsa scoffed at her careless slip she usually wasn't so loose lipped but around Anna alot of her barriers came down. "Elsa you found it! And you didn't tell anyone! Not even me!" Anna was angry. She ran her fingers in her bangs down to her face groaning.

"It isn't what it seems, she's not a mindless animal that just attacks." Elsa defended. Anna turned back to the door of the balcony. "I need to sit down." She admitted taking a spot on the bed. Elsa stood in the entry wringing her fingers together. "You lied to me!" Her head snapped up at the sharp words.

"Technically I didn't, I can't find her."

Anna crossed her arms. "Oh so that means you lost it." Elsa's face became impish, after a pause of ten seconds she looked away. "I didn't say that either."

"Semantics!" Anna threw her arms up. "You're going to give me grey hairs you know that? I'm not ready for that. I like my hair." She caressed her braids mournfully. Now Elsa felt all the days misdeeds encompass her at once when she joined Anna then bed. The younger crossed her legs hiding them under her nightgown. She didn't want to look Elsa at the moment. she didn't even of the blonde had sudden-

"Anna." That voice, that sweet and gentle voice beckoned her eyes to Elsa's who looked truly regretful. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you that I found her, and for earlier. Misdirection is still a lie."

"I'm glad you think so." She sighed. "What are you actually planning on doing with i- her?" Her mind didn't even touch base on how Elsa knew it was girl, that was usually something one had to get close to conclude. except for humans... sometimes.

"Well learn from her and hopefully nurse her back to health. Gain her trust." Elsa felt a weight lift from her chest it felt good to be honest. If lying felt that bad then she'd avoid it as much as possible in the future especially with her loved ones.

They sat in silence for a small while. "Well alright." Elsa felt Anna smile against her shoulder. She looked up and smiled a bit more calm than before. "I give you my blessing to study and earn the trust of the... The" Tapping her chin she cued Elsa to finish the sentence.

"Dragon."

"Right the dragon, by Odin's Ravens you actually just waltzed up to a dragon." Elsa didn't think about it that way. So instead she filled Anna in on the interactions she had with the dragon.

"So she's a big Bruni?" Elsa shook her head. "No Bruni is a amphibian and dragons from what I've read are reptiles, while similar there are too many contrasts."

"Like what?" The older hadn't expected that question since it was hard finding someone interested in the same things as her, Honeymaren was interested for the sake of avoiding ignorance as well as Yelana who did it for the sake of her people. Although she would love to pull Anna in she knew better than anyone how busy being a monarch made her. Anna's free time was spent traveling around with Kristoff or music and painting. The queen had discovered her passion for the violin, singing, and painting be it with oils, water, whatever she could get her hands on. Elsa even had her first completed work hung up in her home. It was abstract, a view of a winter scape, mountains and a frozen lake with trees in contrasting bloom from the perspective of a cabin porch. Still the girls would sometimes collaborate and Elsa would allow Anna to paint her while she read a book aloud.

"Well reptiles are usually dry to the touch and amphibious animals usually create a slime like mucus, that's just one of the many differences." Anna made a disgusted face which Elsa always found endearing. She then went on explaining how the dragon refused to eat anything she brought.

"Maybe they eat people." Elsa stared pointedly at Anna after the remark. She simply shrugged closing her eyes.

"I'm tempted to bring her some chocolate at this point." Anna's face flashed many emotions before her voice lowered to almost a whisper. "I forbid it."

Elsa laughed at her leaning back against the bed joined by Anna. "Well just don't get eaten okay, I've grown rather fond of you." This didn't help Elsa's laughter. "I should be so lucky.

It took nine days more of sitting for hours waiting on her return. Elsa spent the time reading and taking notes. She had taken a break from the books of researching nature and decided to indulge her choice of reads. She was currently studying the maps of star constellations and astrology. Many nights she stayed up especially on particular dates to try and catch sights of them. She had learned her own birth chart and which specific stars aligned in which order on her birthday December 22nd. Elsa looked up from her work feeling a prickle in her skin but shook her head dismissing it.

"Would you like me to make you a birth chart Anna?" Elsa asked from the table over the song Anna played. She paused opening her eyes. "Sounds messy." She replied to which Elsa began explaining what it actually was and soon Anna agreed being more intrigued at having her birthday be tracked, June 21st.

"Can it tell my personality?" She asked while tuning her violin.

"No."

"Future?"

"Anna don't be silly." Elsa chuckled at her disappointment as she walked back to the window mumbling. "Well that's dumb can't even tell me my future."

Her head popped back over unexpectedly. "What's Kristoff's?"

She had also asked Honeymaren who politely declined she was more interested in the the actual myths and tales Elsa had to share about the constellations.

Spreading out the large parchment she began charting when a exhale moved the small hairs that escaped her pony tail. Don't overreact. Glancing backward there was her dragon looking over the papers inquisitively. She hummed lowly and moved her eyes as if reading. One paw was raised off the ground as she peered over. Elsa sat back on her knees. "You like it?" She then pointed to the map. "This is what the sky looked like when I was born, or a rough draft of it. It's supposed to be the Capricornus constellation." She rubbed her chin then continued drawing. "Half goat and half fish. It's one of the twelve zodiacs and one of the 48 constellations listed by the Greek mathematician and astronomer Ptolemy."

Elsa half expected the dragon to walk away or be drawn to other distractions but that was not the case this time. Instead it held position beside her glancing from the paper to the woman occasionally. "Its name means "the goat" in Latin, this constellation has been known by the Sumerians who knew it as the goat-fish. It marked the winter solstice during the early Bronze Age. The ancient Greeks associated the constellation with Amalthea, the goat that saved the baby Zeus from his mother, Rhea, so his father, Cronos, wouldn't devour him. Knowing the tales of Zeus he may have done the world a favor if he left well enough alone. But anyways It was also sometimes associated with Pan, the god with a goat's head who saved himself from the monster, Typhon, by growing a fish tail and jumping into a river." The dragon balanced a book in her paws reading over the pages. "So you can read?" Elsa asked. The dragon merely mewled. "Well then I could bring you some books and we could read some Greek tales together they're um well- what's the word- unique?" The dragon seemed to like this idea settling down on her stomach, ears perked and eyes wide in fascination.

Elsa did a double take from her work to Dragon, she licked her lips, opening and closing her mouth shyly before speaking in a hushed voice. "Would you like me to make you a birth chart?"
