Unlike most Presidium banquets that happened within the Great Banquet Hall of the Presidium the Convocation Banquet was an opportunity for visiting Planar Rajahs and the Dynasties to host the opening banquet in efforts to showcase themselves and capitalize on political relationships.

This Convocation Banquet was being hosted by the Peries of Ebon on their plane of existence. A special transportation vortex was established so dignitaries could traverse from Presidium proper directly into the Banquet Hall for the grand dinner.

Bo and Lauren followed behind Their Majesties as they arrived at the entrance of the Banquet Hall.

Behind Bo and Lauren followed Regent Saladin, Grand Primus Cheles, Prime Representative Lisandro Sellecchia and Third Regent, Her Serene Highness Rimma Prescotti.

Behind them followed Evony escorted by Rana Chevalier and Rana McCorrigan. They were followed in by their respective Viceroys, Viceroy Veilliard and Viceroy Ganix Bonnair of the LauDessar Dynasty.

The Viceroys were followed in by Dyson and Stasio and behind them followed the Fae Elders who joined Evony on the trip. Elder Evelyn Batthews of Clan Finn Arivin, Elder Iyas Ghannam of the Clan Bukharin, Elder Vitale Santoni of Clan Ellet, and Elder Yoshe Sasaki of the Clan Matsuda.

Behind them were the Bashan and Deputy Bashan, Their Serene Highnesses Elena and Ariella Prescotti in their evening dress Knights of Guard regalia.

Lastly, they were followed in by the Bostanji Leonhard and Bas's Gunther, Magnar, Kadine, and Cibor as well as a contingent of the Regnant Guard and the Seneschal.

When they entered Reception Hall it was a fairly ordinary sized room. All that was in front of them was a wall of trees, flowers and plants like they were in a very small indoor private garden.

"Did we come in the right door?" Bo asked as she looked around.

"Wait for it." Trick replied. The walls of trees, flowers and tentacled plants fell away to reveal the outdoor Banquet hall that seemed to go for blocks and guests streamed everywhere. It reminded Bo of the bustle of the Great Atrium.

"I should know these things by now." Bo said. Lauren's mouth, however, dropped.

"Wow!" was all Lauren could say at the sight of numerous pathways lined by plants, and flowers, and the several large ponds with benches around them, and then very large lake that abutted the left side of the hall. Long dinner tables were decorated with beautiful finery and white linen all brightly lit with a mixture of colorful hardened lights and torch lights that peppered throughout the area.

"How many guests are here?" Lauren asked.

"Unlike the Parliamentary Banquet which usually has about 150,000 attendees the Convocation Banquet has close to 350,000 attendees." The Queen Consort replied. Lauren nodded her head.

"Good to know." Lauren commented.

"And just think one day this will all be yours to manage." Dyson whispered as he came up next to Lauren.

"Oh thanks! Give me an anxiety attack already!" Lauren whispered back. Dyson grinned.

A woman floated up to them with dark grey skin in a white dress with shoulder bands that criss-crossed across her breasts and a train that went past her feet. She wore a jewelry studded tiara with tall white feathers on each side of the tiara that came together above her head. The orbs of her eyes were black when she first approached but then they changed to gray. She was followed by a swarm of Peries. Both Bo and Lauren were taken aback and Lauren gripped Bo's hand and moved closer to her.

"Blessings and felicitations, Your Majesty." Rajah Polyhymnia greeted as she curtsied followed by the entire hall of guests who extended their courtesies. The Queen stepped forward.

"Peace and Protection upon you all, Rajah Polyhymnia." The Queen replied as she acknowledged the courtesies.

"Please accept our hospitality and good wishes." Rajah Polyhymnia said as she rose and then she nodded at the Peries who then swarmed The Queen like a tornado. Bo anxiously looked over at The Queen Consort who only smiled as she watched. The Queen closed her eyes and raised her arms slightly as the swirl of Peries engulfed her.

"You know, I've actually seen this before with the first Ash I served. Aside from the fact that Peries swarm to attack their prey they also use it to communicate and from what I understand their voices sound like angels." Lauren quietly explained to Bo.

"As fast as they're moving I would hate to see how they would attack." Bo quietly replied.

The entire Banquet Hall remained silent while The Queen communed with the Peries. After a few more minutes had passed The Queen opened her eyes and the Peries dispersed. The Queen looked around.

"Thank you for such a lovely welcome! Blessings to you all!" The Queen said to applause then everyone returned to their conversations. The wall of trees, plants and flowers that first greeted them raised up again, enclosing them from the rest of the hall. Then a series of tentacled pathways revealed themselves.

"What's this?" Bo asked as she watched everything transform around her.

"One of the ways to make banquets such as these entertaining is to create an entertaining environment. The different pathways act like a casual walking maze which encourages one to meet guests at random." The Queen Consort replied.

"Clever hosting tactic." Bo replied.

"Your Majesties, it is a pleasure to see you again!" Rajah Polyhymnia greeted The Queen Consort after they exchanged courtesies.

"Thank you, Polyhymnia. It really has been too long since Ari and I last visited Ebon." The Queen Consort replied.

"We are thrilled you allowed us to host the Opening Banquet." Rajah Polyhymnia said.

"Of course! Besides, it allows us the chance to visit for a few days before the meetings begin." The Queen Consort replied.

"Welcome to Ebon, Your Royal Highness!" Rajah Polyhymnia greeted.

"Thank you, Your Supreme Excellency!" Bo replied.

"And I take it this is Dr. Lewis?" Rajah Polyhymnia prompted.

"I am, Your Supreme Excellency." Lauren replied.

"How are you finding Presidium life?" Rajah Polyhymnia asked.

"Quite unbelievable, to be honest, Your Supreme Excellency." Lauren replied. "May I ask a question?"

"Of course, Dr. Lewis." Rajah Polyhymnia replied.

"I have never encountered a Fae such as yourself before." Lauren said.

"Well, I should certainly hope not, Doctor." Rajah Polyhymnia replied with a smile.

"She is the Ruler of the Woodland Faeries, Doctor." Evony answered.

"What?" Lauren asked.

"Rajah Polyhymnia rules over all the Faeries that emanate from the woodlands." Evony replied.

"All of them?" Lauren queried.

"All of them, including myself." Evony replied.

"You mean…?" Lauren started.

"The Presidium is my home but I was born and raised here on Ebon." Evony finished.

"I thought you came from Lacommande?" Bo asked.

"My ancestors on my mother's side do. My father and his side of the family hail from Ebon." Evony replied.

"Learning a lot tonight." Lauren said and then looked at Their Majesties who smiled.

"One of the many advantages of the Convocation." The Queen Consort replied.

"Are you both remaining on Ebon after tonight?" Rajah Polyhymnia asked Bo and Lauren.

"Yes, we plan to shadow Their Majesties during their visit here." Bo answered.

"We look forward to showing you our home." Rajah Polyhymnia said then turned to Evony.

"Evony Marquis, daughter of Andrae and Parisa Marquis, former Grand Ducal of LauDessar Dynasty, distinguished warrior, and now Grand Ducal of the proposed 25th Delegation." Rajah Polyhymnia greeted.

"Your Supreme Excellency." Evony greeted with a deep curtsey. Stasio and Dyson followed suit with low bows which Rajah Polyhymnia quickly acknowledged.

"The Circle of Faeries are delighted at your return." Rajah Polyhymnia said.

"All of them, Your Supreme Excellency?" Evony replied with a hint of sarcasm in her voice.

"Even Selene." Rajah Polyhymnia replied.

"Who's Selene?" Bo whispered to Trick.

"Selene Vico, Your Royal Highness. She sits within the Circle of Faeries." Evony answered. "That is I take it she still sits within the Circle?"

"Very much so." Rajah Polyhymnia replied.

"The Circle of Faeries?" Bo said.

"It's an informal assembly. They only come together when their interests are at stake." Trick answered.

"And they're coming together during the Convocation, I take it?" Bo asked.

"Too much juicy lucy news not to." Trick replied. Everyone looked at Trick.

"I have got to stop picking up Kenzi's lingo." Trick replied. Bo, Lauren and Dyson smiled.

"Allow me to introduce my deputy Stasio Alesandese." Evony introduced.

"Alesandese. Your family lineage is well known." Rajah Polyhymnia commented.

"This is Dyson Thornwood, my other deputy." Evony introduced.

"It is my understanding you are called The Ash?" Rajah Polyhymnia asked.

"Yes I am, Your Supreme Excellency." Dyson replied.

"We were touched to learn one of your leadership positions was named after one of our sacred fairy trees." Rajah Polyhymnia replied. Dyson looked to Trick who only smiled in return.

"And this is Evelyn Batthews of Clan Finn Arivin, Iyas Ghannam of the Clan Bukharin, Vitale Santoni of Clan Ellet, and Yoshe Sasaki of the Clan Matsuda, all Fae Elders from the Human Plane." Evony introduced.

"Welcome to Ebon!" Rajah Polyhymnia greeted all of them then turned to Trick. "Rana McCorrigan, It has been awhile since you were last here on Ebon."

"And it is still beautiful as ever, Your Supreme Excellency. Please, allow me to introduce my Viceroy, Marik Veilliard." Trick replied.

"Your Supreme Excellency." Marik greeted with a bow.

"Are you remaining on Ebon after tonight?" Rajah Polyhymnia asked.

"We have to return to the Presidium to prepare before the meetings start." Trick replied.

"I understand." Then Rajah Polyhymnia looked to Elena, Ariella and Rimma.

"Blessings, Rajah Polyhymnia." Elena greeted and then to both Bo and Lauren's surprise Elena, Rimma and Ariella curtsied.

"Thank you, Your Serene Highnesses, and welcome back to Ebon! You honor us in having all of your siblings present tonight." Rajah Polyhymnia said.

"We all love it here, Your Supreme Excellency!" Ariella replied.

"Do you plan to stay for a few days?" Rajah Polyhymnia asked.

"Some of us plan to stay. The rest of us have to return to the Presidium to prepare for the meetings as well." Rimma replied.

"Their Majesties are blessed to have such wonderfully intelligent and hard-working children." Rajah Polyhymnia complimented.

"I give all credit to Helen." Ari replied as she looked lovingly at Helen.

"And you know I hate it when you say that." Helen gently chastised as she wrapped her arm around Ari's.

"It's true!" Ari replied.

"We watched the match between the Iron Hordes and Jackal Riders. We look forward to the match between the Hordes and Gracce's Hammer." Rajah Polyhymnia said.

"Your son, Adnan does the game and Gracce's Hammer team great honor as its Captain. We look forward to our match with them." Elena replied. Rajah Polyhymnia smiled.

"My son looks forward to seeing you tonight." Rajah Polyhymnia said. Elena smiled. So did her parents.

"Your Majesties, Your Supreme Excellency!" A voice called out. They all turned and Evony let out a sigh.

"Parisa! Lovely to see you again!" The Queen greeted as Parisa and five others walked up. And they exchanged courtesies.

"Thank you, Your Majesty! It's lovely to see you as well." Parisa replied then turned to Evony.

"Evony!" Parisa greeted.

"Mother." Evony replied back. Bo and Lauren's mouths dropped.

"Is that how one's daughter greets their mother?" Parisa prompted. Evony leaned forward and they exchanged kisses on the cheek.

"I see you brought an audience." Evony said as she looked beyond her mother.

"Since you chose not to visit us when you were last here for Rana McCorrigan's installation, we decided to come to you." Parisa said.

"Introductions, please!" Bo said barely containing the glee out of her voice.

"Your Royal Highness, this is my mother, Grand Ducal Serene Highness Parisa Marquis. And these are my siblings, Rein, Noella, Olympia, Yves and Uma." Evony introduced.

"So, you're Evony's brothers and sisters, huh?" Bo asked with a grin so wide Lauren had to tug at her arm to tone it down a bit.

"Yes, Your Royal Highness." Uma replied.

"You must have stories! So many stories! I would love to hear them all! Really!" Bo said gleefully.

"I think we can save that for another time, Your Royal Highness." Evony cautioned.

"No time like the present!" Bo replied. Evony sighed even louder.

"Your Majesties!" A chorus of voices called out from behind. Everyone turned to see a group of ladies approach. They exchanged courtesies and then The Queen Consort extended her arms out only to be crushed by hugs and near squeals from the group of ladies. Bo and Lauren's eyebrows went up.

"And this is where I lose Helen for the next six months." The Queen commented.

"Old friends of The Queen Consort, I presume?" Lauren whispered.

"They do not often get to see one another altogether like this but when they do it's almost always during the Convocation. All of them are dignitaries in their own right, but aside from the meetings and family events they'll nearly be inseparable during the Convocation." Elena explained. Helen turned to everyone.

"Ladies! You know most everyone here but allow me to introduce The Princess Royal and her Companion, Dr. Lauren Lewis." Helen introduced. They all offered nods and smiles.

"Bo, Lauren these are dearest friends of mine. This is Juliette Sellecchia, wife of Lisandro here." Lisandro and Juliette exchanged quick smiles.

"This Clara Maestas, Lavina Heatherington, Josefina Callamasse and Mri Khanna." Helen introduced.

"Lovely to meet you all." Bo said.

"So how are you finding the Presidium thus far?" Mri Khanna asked.

"Busy. A lot of activity." Bo replied.

"I understand you have children?" Lavina Heatherington asked.

"Quadruplets." Lauren replied.

"Are they good children?" Josefina Callamasse asked.

"For the most part yes, until they decide to join forces." That made the group of ladies chuckle.

"How old are they?" Clara Maestas asked.

"Nearly two." Lauren replied.

"The challenging years." Clara said.

"Dr. Lewis I understand you work within Presidium Medical?" Mri asked.

"Yes, I do. Are you a Doctor as well?" Lauren asked.

"Yes, I am a Research Scientist. I am part of the Council of Healers' Special Commission that will be reviewing the health requirements section of the 25th Delegation's petition for inclusion." Mri replied.

"Dr. Abigail Danna, Head of the JFM will be making the presentation and I will be presenting the Joint Program Initiative portion." Lauren replied.

"I look forward to it. Both Dr. Ortuso and Dr. Prescotti speak highly of you. And it goes without saying the entire Realm is immensely grateful for your part in saving The Queen's life." Mri said.

"Mri" The Queen said quietly.

"I only express what the Realm feels, Your Majesty. Thank you, Doctor from the bottom of our hearts." Mri said.

"It was most certainly a team effort." Lauren replied.

"Evony! It's so great to see you again!" Clara greeted.

"It's good to be back." Evony replied.

"Have you run into Selene yet?" Josefina asked almost at whisper.

"Not yet." Evony replied.

"Well, I wish you the best with that." Josefina said.

"I will need it." Evony replied.

"And who are these guests?" Lavina asked.

"These are the Fae Elders I brought along from the Human plane. Elder Evelyn Batthews of Clan Finn Arivin, Elder Iyas Ghannam of the Clan Bukharin, Vitale Santoni of Clan Ellet and Elder Yoshe Sasaki of the Clan Matsuda. And these are my deputies, Stasio Alesandese and Dyson Thornwood." Evony introduced.

"I sit on the Communities of Health and Prosperity's Special Commission that will be reviewing the socio-political section of your petition." Juliette replied.

"And I sit on the Pillar of Business's Special Commission to review the economic sections." Josefina added.

"Evelyn here will be presenting before the Communities of Health and Prosperity and Yoshe here will be presenting before the Pillar of Business." Evony said.

"We are looking forward to it." Juliette replied.

"We are extremely confident the Human plane has a great deal to offer the Presidium worthy of Inclusion." Yoshe replied.

"I'm sure." Juliette replied.

"Lavina sits on the Joint Agency and Pillar of Intelligence's Special Commission to review the plans for Transparency. And Clara sits on the Brynai Society of Engineers' Special Commission for Technology with Julian." Helen informed.

"Stasio, Dyson and Iyas will be presenting before the Joint Commission and Vitale will be presenting before the Brynai Society of Engineers." Evony replied. "But I thought Julian was part of Pillar of Business?" Evony asked.

"He is but he also asked to serve on Engineers Special Commission as well. He has a keen interest. I believe it stems from working with you on the initial transition efforts." Helen replied.

"We're glad to have him onboard." Evony replied.

"Your Majesty, we want steal you away for a bit, if possible?" Lavina prompted.

"Enjoy your reunion time." Ari said as she kissed Helen quickly."

"See you later, dear." Helen said and then disappeared down a path surrounded by her friends chatting away followed by Bas Magnar.

"Your Majesty!" A voice said behind them. The grouped turned around in the direction of the voice.

"Rajah Daireann! And I see you have Rajah Uhane with you." The Queen greeted as they offered bows.

"Rajah Daireann is the Rajah for the Baeccidell Protectorate, and Rajah Uhane is the Rajah for the Utticus plane." Saladin whispered to Bo and Lauren.

"Kenzi said she met Rajah Uhane at the Juggerbol match." Bo replied.

"Rajah Daireann and I were having a discussion about the proposed package agreements, Your Majesty." Rajah Uhane said.

"I take it from Saladin that the proposed agreements are a contention amongst several of the Rajahs." The Queen replied.

"Contention? The proposed agreements would be revolutionary, Your Majesty." Rajah Uhane replied.

"Nothing wrong with a little revolution, Rajah Uhane." Rana Chevalier interjected.

"Only you would think that, Duvall." Rajah Uhane replied.

"Your Majesty!" Another voice called out. They all turned.

"Rajah Steellash!" Rajah Polyhymnia greeted. Rajah Steellash bowed before The Queen.

"Blessings to all!" Rajah Steellash said. "I'm glad to see you're all huddled together. I take it over the these proposed package agreements?"

"We shall have an opportunity to discuss them once the meetings start, Your Supreme Excellency." Saladin replied.

"Why can't we do it now? Everyone is here." Rajah Steellash countered.

"And that is our cue." Jock whispered behind Bo and Lauren startling them both. Atia stood next to him.

"Rajah Steellash of the Shrouded Domain can be quite dramatic." Atia whispered.

"Your Majesty, Your Excellencies, please excuse us. I would like to introduce Her Royal Highness and Dr. Lewis to several other dignitaries here." Jock announced.

"Good idea." The Queen replied. Jock and Atia extended their courtesies and guided Bo and Lauren down one of the garden pathways followed by Bas Kadine and Bas Cibor.

"Your Supreme Excellencies, shall we walk and discuss some of the specifics of the proposed package agreements?" Saladin said to the Rajahs.

"I would rather discuss it here and now Saladin." Rajah Steellash began.

"I'm sure you would but you would also agree this is not exactly the most opportune moment." Regent Saladin replied as he glanced in the direction of Evony and her family.

"Oh. Yes, I see. Of course. Apologies." Rajah Steellash replied.

"Come, Your Supreme Excellencies!" Saladin directed.

"I shall go with you." Rimma said to Saladin. They all extended their courtesies and left.

"Your Majesties, if you will excuse me. I will see you when we seat for dinner." Rajah Polyhymnia said as she extended a curtsey and left.

"Rana McCorrigan, would you and your Viceroy care to join me for a drink? We do need to discuss the proposed package agreements with the Drustain Delegation. Basil does have a few valid points." Rana Chevalier prompted.

"If you're buying the first round." Trick replied as he and Rana Chevalier extended their courtesies and then left followed by their respective Viceroys.

"Allow me to introduce you around to some of the dignitaries present." Elena said to both Stasio, Dyson and the Fae Elders. They all looked to Evony who gave a slight nod of her head then they extended their courtesies and left.

Only Prime Representative Sellechia and Ariella remained along with Bostanji Leonhard and Bas Gunther, serving as Guards of honor to The Queen.

"Your Majesty, I'm glad we have this moment to speak. I'm sure Her Majesty has discussed with you a concern I'm having with Primus Guilloy." Rein said.

"Yes." The Queen replied.

"Rein, I think we can discuss this at a later time." Evony interjected.

"No time like the present don't you think?" Rein replied. "Your Majesty, the Viofynne Conglomerate…" Rein started.

"Your Majesty!" thundered a voice from behind. Everyone turned and saw Grand Ducal Serene Highness Bearnard Arasgain, Helen's brother barreling up. He quickly bowed and when Ari acknowledged it he went up, kissed her hand then embraced her.

"Your Majesty!" Bearnard said again when he released The Queen. "You are always a beauty to behold!"

"Thank you Bearnard!" The Queen replied.

"My dearest sister?" Bearnard asked looking around.

"She just left with her friends." Ari replied.

"The Cackling Horde!" Bearnard said. Ari laughed. Bearnard then went over and lifted Ariella off the ground and gripped in a bear hug of an embrace.

"My favorite niece! How's the best warrior in the Realm?" Bearnard asked.

"Uncle Bearnard, you say that to all of us!" Ariella replied.

"And I mean every word of it too. How is my lovely beauty?" Bearnard asked.

"Just fine, Uncle!" Ariella replied. Then Bearnard turned to Evony.

"Your Excellency." Bearnard said as he approached and kissed her hand. "You grace the Realm again with your presence."

"Thank you Bearnard, truly." Evony replied.

"Parisa. Some day you must do me the honor." Bearnard greeted as he kissed her hand.

"Lovely to see you as well, Bearnard." Parisa replied.

Then one of the wait staff approached with a tankard of ale. Bearnard took it, hoisted it in a quick air toast, and drank deeply while the some of the beer dribbled down his mouth and deep red beard that matched his long, wavy, fulsome deep red hair beard.

"So dearest Evony, you have quite the mountain to climb with this Inclusion proposal." Bearnard he wiped his mouth and beard and

"I am prepared." Evony replied.

"I'm curious as to what the Humans have to offer besides being cattle." Bearnard said.

"My thoughts as well." Yves, Evony's younger brother chimed in. Evony shot him a look.

"They have a number of things they can offer the Realm." Evony replied.

"On come along! Talking food is about the gist of it, and you know it." Olympia said.

"Let us keep our enthusiasm contained shall we?" Lisandro cautioned.

"What I speak is mild compared to what will be said when the meetings begin." Olympia said.

"I recognize that, but we have to be considerate that the Princess Royal's Companion is also a human." Lisandro reminded.

"And from what I understand Antony has taken up with her human friend as well?" Uma added. Bearnard looked at The Queen.

"What? Is this true, Your Majesty?" Bearnard asked.

"My son asked my permission to see Agent Malikov and I granted it." The Queen replied. Bearnard took in another deep breath.

"As you command, Your Majesty." Bearnard replied.

"Bearnard!" A voice called from behind. Everyone turned.

"Masilo!" Bearnard called out.

"Harassing my sister as always?" Masilo asked as they embraced in intense bear hug.

"As a brother-in-law should." Bearnard replied after they broke their hug. "I was hoping to see you here! Poly has put on another great banquet and beauties to boot!"

"I think my wife, Nanaea would have an issue with my eyes wandering about." Masilo replied.

"Your Majesty." Masilo greeted with a bow. Ari extended out her arms and she and her brother embraced.

"Ari, you look beautiful tonight." Masilo said.

"Thank you Masilo! Is the rest of your family here?" Ari asked.

"Only Nanaea and I. The children at back at the Homelands preparing for the Harvest." Masilo replied.

"Thank you for bringing the Usraahl." Ari said.

"We know how much you love sailing on her." Masilo replied then turned to Ariella, embraced her in a hug and then turned to Evony.

"Evony. It's good to see you again." Masilo greeted.

"Thank you, Masilo. I know I haven't seen you personally since I first left, but allow me to offer my condolences on the passing of your parents. May their spirits ever radiate across the lands." Evony replied.

"Thank you for your thoughtful sentiments." Masilo replied then turned back to Ari. "Dear sister, we need to talk about a subject that may be raised during the Convocation."

"About the proposed planar agreements? Because I know there are concerns there." Ari queried.

"No. About Divestment. I have some concerns there." Masilo replied.

"As do I, Your Majesty, and that subject is making its rounds tonight, along with this Supremacy talk." Bearnard added.

"I need to speak with Evony, Parisa and Rein privately first and then we can discuss that later." The Queen said.

"Of course, Your Majesty." Masilo replied. Then he and Bearnard extended their courtesies and left. The Queen then turned to Bostanji Leonhard, Bas Gunther, Sellecchia, and Ariella.

"That means you all as well." The Queen said. Bostanji Leonhard, Bas Gunther, Sellecchia, and Ariella made themselves scarce.

"I see Bearnard is still feisty as ever, and Masilo still devastatingly handsome." Evony observed. Ari smiled replied then surveyed the group.

"So Rein, what is this business with the Viofynne Conglomerate?" Ari asked.

"Your Majesty, their research needs visibility before the Council of Healers. The deal I have with Viofynne is predicated upon the approval of the trials they are conducting." Rein replied.

"And Primus Guilloy is an issue?" The Queen asked.

"His extended scrutiny of the matter is concerning to my business partners." Rein replied.

"And Primus Cocher was a champion of this agreement?" The Queen asked.

"Yes, Your Majesty." Rein replied.

"They will have their audience with the Council of Healers." The Queen replied.

"Thank you, Your Majesty." Rein replied.

"I trust you can handle the rest of this deal without my further involvement?" From The Queen's tone Rein understood it was not a question.

"Yes, Your Majesty." Rein replied.

"Good. Then if you will allow me a moment with your mother and sister?" The Queen prompted.

"Yes, Your Majesty. Thank you, Your Majesty." Rein said as he bowed then turned and left.

"Thank you, Your Majesty for your continued support of Rein's business efforts." Parisa said.

"Well, he's not the best businessman in the Realm, but he keeps plugging at it." Ari replied.

"He's awful at it." Evony replied.

"Your heard Her Majesty, Evony. Rein is trying." Parisa said.

"Better for him to pursue something he can actually handle. Snake-charming is an actual profession on the Human plane, you know." Evony replied. Parisa sighed.

"Parisa, Agent Prime briefed me on the situation in Lacommande? I had an Agent poised to send there but you rescinded your request?" Ari asked.

"Yes, Your Majesty. The Circle of Faeries have decided to involve themselves." Parisa replied.

"With sanction, I hope?" Evony asked surprised.

"Of course! The Circle of Faeries requested permission from Agent Prime to address the situation and she granted the request upon consultation with Deputy Primus Brixius." Parisa replied.

"Who is leading the inquiry?" Evony asked.

"Selene Vico." Parisa replied.

"Of course." Evony said resigned.

"Of course." Parisa replied.

"I am here if you need anything." Ari said to Parisa.

"I know you are, Your Majesty. I'm just concerned about leaning on you too much. Especially out of respect for The Queen Consort." Parisa replied.

"Nonsense! Helen understands completely, and is equally as concerned." Ari replied.

"You were lucky to have married her." Parisa said.

"I'm lucky she married me. I need to speak with Evony alone now." Ari replied.

"Of course, Your Majesty." Parisa replied then curtsied, turned and left.

"Do me a favor, will you?" Ari asked.

"Anything." Evony replied.

"Lose all the trees surrounding us." Ari directed.

"By your command." Evony replied then touched one of the trees and the wall of trees, plants and flowers drew aside to reveal the crowds of guests near them engaged in conversation. When the trees parted they all briefly went into hushed tones as they saw The Queen and Evony speaking together alone on the entrance dias. Evony glanced around.

"There are quite a number of eyes on us." Evony said.

"Two ex-lovers conversing in the open. Of course, guests are trying to look like they are not watching. Particularly, your mother." Ari replied.

"She loves you too you know."

"I know all too well what Parisa loves. Power. A love of which she instilled in all of her children."

"Is that what you think my love for you was all about? Power?" Evony asked.

"Of course, not. I had none. I was just a simple warrior in love with a Grand Ducal. What astonished me is that you loved me back." Ari replied.

"That's because you do have power. Over me." Evony replied batting her eyes. Ari smiled.

"I want to make sure that scene Primus Andathis put on earlier was immediately smited in the gossip circles. You are going to have dignitaries fawning all over you now for the next six months." Ari said.

"Is this your way of greasing the skids?" Evony asked. Ari smiled in response.

"You do realize your mother expects you to remain even after Bo's Installation to handle Selene."

"One battle at a time shall we?" Evony replied. Ari smiled.

"Evony, there's something that both Helen and I need to speak with you about." Ari said.

"What is it?"

"We need your help." Ari replied.

"You spoke about this back at the Dal. Anything I can do to help."

"Tonight is not the best time to speak of it but after the meetings get underway we can talk again." Ari replied. Then Dakari approached.

"Mummy, Your Excellency. Apologies for the interruption." Dakari greeted.

"Hello, Your Serene Highness." Evony greeted.

"What is it, son?" Ari asked.

"Rajah Irenaeus and Rajah Nanda need a word. They cornered Primus Levasseur, Taoiseach Sandalli and myself and are insistent on speaking with you about the planary package agreements." Dakari replied.

"Looks like the Rajahs are making their rounds." Ari said. Then the Seneschal appeared.

"Find Saladin and have him join us." Ari directed.

"Yes, Your Majesty." The Seneschal replied then bowed and left.

"We'll catch up to you later." Ari said to Evony replied. Then Evony's family members circled back around her.

"Well, that looked like quite the intimate conversation." Noella said.

"Noella." Evony warned.

"I can't help it if you slayed a Sovereign. I only married a provincial politician." Noella said.

"Ari was not the Sovereign at the time. Which by the way, Rein, when are you going to stop milking my association with Ari?" Evony asked exasperated.

"When it is no longer relevant." Rein said as he walked off.

'Well, at least he's honest." Uma noted.

Jock and Atia flanked Bo and Lauren as they walked along the garden pathways and offered brief nods at guests they passed by.

"The Queen Consort thought it best Atia and I act as your escorts for the evening." Jock said.

"That was very thoughtful of them, but I wish you had waited until the show ended first." Bo replied.

"Pardon, Your Royal Highness?" Jock asked.

"Bo likes to revel in Evony's discomfort." Lauren answered.

"I see." Jock said.

"You know, it was probably a good thing Mary didn't attend this one." Lauren commented.

"Yeah, this would have been a lot." Bo replied.

"Will The Princess Mother be attending your Installation, Your Royal Highness?" Atia asked.

"I don't know. She's just getting use to the Fae around her back in Grimley." Bo replied.

"Eventually, she will have to come to know this side of you." Atia said.

"I know. I just have to decide when the best time is." Bo replied. Then Dr. Emilia Prescotti approached along with Dr. Alfred Riko and they both extended their courtesies to Bo.

"Dr. Prescotti! Dr. Riko!" Lauren greeted.

"We were visiting with the Utticans and wanted to catch up with you after all the ceremonial introductions." Emilia replied.

"Your Atticus is over there as well, by the way Your Royal Highness." Dr. Riko added.

"Really?" Bo asked.

"Some of the Utticans can only live in water so a special enclave was set up for others to visit them so Atticus is in there swimming away." Dr. Riko replied.

"How are you enjoying yourselves?" Emilia asked.

"Jock and Atia here are helping us make our rounds. Seems to be a lot of concern surrounding the planary agreements." Bo replied.

"The Rajahs trying to position themselves as usual." Atia said. Bo smiled then quickly perked up.

"Here comes your brother, Antony. Need to put on my best charm." Bo said as she fortified herself.

"Why?" Emilia asked.

"I feel like he doesn't like me or something. Anytime I try and strike up a conversation it seems all he does is grunt in response. Besides, he's dating Kenzi and so I want to get to know him better." Bo replied.

"Don't worry, Your Royal Highness. It takes Antony a bit to warm up to others that's all." Emilia said.

"A bit? Or a century?" Bo asked as Antony approached. Julian was with him as they exchanged courtesies.

"Hello, Julian! Antony!" Bo greeted with a bright smile.

"Enjoying the evening, Your Royal Highness, Dr. Lewis?" Julian asked.

"So far. Are you?" Bo replied.

"Dodging dignitaries as usual, particularly on the subject of the package agreements." Julian replied.

"Seems to be the topic of the evening." Lauren added.

"So Antony, I understand Juggerbol is a passion of yours?" Bo asked.

"Obvious question, Your Royal Highness since I am Captain of the Iron Hordes." Antony responded.

"Yeah, well that was a stupid question to ask. So farming? I understand you have a passion for farming?" Bo asked.

"Yes." Antony answered. Bo kept up her bright smile.

"Is there anything else that you like to do?" Bo asked.

"Sail." Antony replied.

"Kenzi told me you took her sailing. She said you really enjoy it." Bo said.

"Don't let my brother have you think a love of sailing lies exclusively with him. We all love it, and Mummy loves to just drown us." Atia added.

"Really? Drowning?" Bo asked.

"I'm being somewhat dramatic but Mummy is highly competitive about it. None of us have ever beaten her. Ever!" Atia replied.

"And The Queen Consort?" Bo asked.

"For transportation purposes yes, but she's not a fan of our competitive sailing events. She always waits on the shore knitting while trying not to allow her anxiety over our safety overtake her." Atia replied.

"The Queen Consort anxious? I can't see her anxious over anything." Lauren said.

"Wait until you see us compete." Emilia replied.

"Even you, Dr. Prescotti?" Lauren asked.

"Oh yes. I have a 400-foot cutter that I sail. Is that so surprising, Doctor?" Emilia replied.

"Honestly, yes. Not that I believe you are incapable. I just have never met someone who is so highly skilled in so many different areas. And more so, there are ten of you like that." Lauren replied.

"That's called involved parenting." Dr. Riko replied.

"Dr. Prescotti!" Everyone turned in the direction of the voice.

"Dr. Padameshi! I didn't realize you were here." Emilia replied surprised.

"That would be my fault." Lauren said. "I wanted to start laying the groundwork for the Joint Program Initiative between JFM and Presidium Medical and asked the JFM to send a liaison that could stay through the Installation."

"I thought Dr. Russo Monteiro was the liaison?" Emilia queried.

"He is but he suddenly had a pressing matter to attend to and couldn't be here right away but will be after the meetings begin." Lauren replied.

"I hope nothing serious?" Emilia asked.

"Oh no. It's all fine. He's serving as the best man to Dr. Gallo whose getting married to Jobina." Lauren replied.

"Get out!" Bo exclaimed which startled everyone as if Lauren had somehow offended her.

"Sorry, that means I am both surprised and happy." Bo explained.

"We are so going to have to pick up on your lingo, Your Royal Highness." Atia replied. Bo and Lauren smiled.

"Anyway, they've been dating for quite a while and he finally decided to pop the question. With things changing he didn't want to wait any longer so instead of sending him Abigail sent Louis."

"Good thinking." Julian replied with a big grin at Emilia. Emilia gave him a look.

"I hope my presence is welcoming." Louis said to Emilia.

"Of course, it is!" Julian replied with another big grin. Emilia gave her brother another look.

"Forgive my brother for feeling that he needs to answer for me. Of course, it is. Why wouldn't it?" Emilia asked.

"Well, we haven't been able to see one another since The Queen left the Human plane." Louis replied.

"Things have been quite busy of late." Emilia replied.

"Yes, of course. Well, I must say thank you to The Queen Consort for inviting me to the Banquet." Louis said.

"My Mother did?" Emilia asked surprised.

"Yes." Louis replied.

"Well, yes we must thank her." Emilia said.

"I was hoping we can take some time from the Convocation for dinner if that is alright?" Louis asked.

"I would enjoy that." Emilia replied. Louis then glanced at her hands.

"Would you like a drink?" Louis asked.

"Chelo wine would be lovely." Emilia replied. Dr. Padameshi surveyed the rest of the group as if unsure of something.

"Is that a difficult order, Doctor?" Antony asked pointedly.

"No, absolutely not, Your Serene Highness. I was just looking to see if anyone else needed anything." Louis answered then quickly bowed and hurried off. Antony's eyes followed him.

"A mouse." Antony said.

"Antony." Emilia chided.

"What?" Antony feigned. Julian clapped his brother on the shoulder.

"Come along Antony. Let's go find someone else to terrorize." Julian said.

"Yes, Felix would do nicely right about now." Antony replied as he reached over to Emilia, pulled her close and kissed her on top of her head.

"My beautiful, delicate flower." Antony said.

"You know I can be far from delicate." Emilia replied.

"No matter." Antony replied then he kissed Atia also on top of the head, clapped Jock on the arm and then left with Julian.

"Forgive my brother. He sees me through Mummy's eyes." Emilia replied.

"That's what big brothers do." Jock replied.

"And sisters." Atia added.

"Dr. Lewis!" A voice called from behind. They all turned.

"Dr. Asaro! I was wondering when I was going to run into you." Lauren replied.

"I wanted to hover in the background until all of the felicitations were made." Dr. Kicho Asaro replied.

"We did the same thing." Dr. Alfred Riko replied.

"Are the rest with you?" Lauren asked.

"Drs. Osheen, Makar, and Easton all grabbed a seating area where we can all talk." Dr. Asaro replied.

"What's going on?" Bo asked.

"I'm sorry. I should have said something, but I want to take advantage of everyone here to briefly discuss the framework for the Joint Program Initiative before we meet with Dr. Ortuso in a few days to run through our presentation." Lauren explained. "Dr. Prescotti, Dr. Riko do you have a time to join us?"

"Of course!" Emilia replied.

"You've just made her evening." Atia replied. Lauren quickly kissed Bo on the cheek.

"I will come find you in a bit, okay?" Lauren said.

"Have fun!" Bo replied.

"I'll let Dr. Padameshi know where you went." Atia said with a snarky grin as Emilia Lauren, and Dr. Asaro all walked off. It was met with narrowed eyes from Emilia. Bo chuckled. As soon as they left Maxima walked up at a pace.

"You have got to come and save me from Grand Ducal Ashbridge!" Maxima pleaded.

"Why? What's going on?" Atia replied.

"He's following me me around with his son trying to pair us up. It's irritating. Mummy should have allowed me to invite Vex to the banquet." Maxima said.

"And then we would have to contend with Antony." Atia replied.

"Atia!" Maxima pleaded again.

"Fine! We'll grab Grand Ducal Jonassis's daughter enroute. She's looking for a husband anyway." Atia replied. And then Atia and Maxima left. Bo started laughing.

"I have never seen Maxima annoyed at anything. She's always so poised." Bo said.

"One of the downsides of the Convocation is the opportunity for dignitaries to parade the unmarried children in the hopes that one of my siblings will take a liking to them." Jock replied.

"Given the fact you all are unmarried children of the Sovereigns, I'm sure." Bo replied.

"It's quite the dance we dance that is for sure." Jock said. "Shall we continue to mingle?"

"You know, I'm glad that you are my escort tonight. I was saying to Dyson that I have not had the opportunity to spend time with either you or Atia because of the planning for the Convocation." Bo said.

"We shall have plenty of time tonight, Your Royal Highness." Jock replied.

"It's just you and me now. Can you just call me Bo?" Bo asked.

"Not quite use to the title yet?"

"I'm just a farm girl."

"As I am just a farm boy."

"From what I gather a very big farm, like one the size of a country." Bo replied. That made Jock smile.

"So in addition to being part of the Pillar of Law, a Knight of the Guard, member of the Juggerbol Team, and an Adherent what do you do in your spare time?" That made Jock chuckle.

"I farm." Jock answered. That made Bo laugh.

"I'm being quite serious." Jock said with equal jocularity in his voice. "The Queen is very serious about farming. Have you visited the Chateau yet?"

"Not yet." Bo replied.

"The Chateau is really our private family home, and we all have parcels of land that we farm out there." Jock replied.

"I understand Antony is quite good at farming." Bo said.

"He is a natural, although Dakari is also very good, but Elena's parcel is the most flourishing." Jock replied.

"Is there anything Elena cannot do?" Bo asked.

"She is the best of us." Jock replied.

"And the sailing?" Bo asked.

"A requirement. We are all trained to sail even in combat. When you visit the Prescotti Homelands you will gain a first-hand understanding."

"Oh?"

"Yes. After each Convocation we sail for the Prescotti Homelands so Mummy can partake in her Great Sleep. After she awakens we set sail on the Aa'ila down the Omarion Sea then over to the river Dreralla and camp in a favorite area of Mummy's. We stay there for a week and fend for ourselves." Jock explained.

"I love camping!"

"In the interests of transparency, camping means tents."

"Yes!"

"Small tents."

"Yes!"

"Cooking for ourselves."

"Yes."

"And roaming about in our Ranoruk form."

"All of you? At the same time?"

"Yes."

"Like you all did in the Congo?"

"Yes."

"Oh wow! This all sounds incredible." Bo said.

"It is."

"You know what Lauren and I find so amazing is that with all of your responsibilities you all manage to remain a close-knit family." Bo said.

"Our parents are like that." Jock replied. Jock and Bo continued their walk arm in arm and Bo saw several of the Rajahs huddled in conversation.

"That conversation looks intense over there." Bo commented.

"Yes, it does."

"So tell me with all this Divestment discussion what are your thoughts on it?" Bo asked.

"It is inevitable."

"Is that because you believe in it?"

"It is more about recognizing the ambitions of others."

"And what about Supremacy?"

"I am in favor of Supremacy." Jock replied.

"Really? Because your Mummy seems opposed to it?"

"Supremacy is also inevitable."

"Why?"

"It is the logical next step for the Realm."

"Absolute power?"

"Correct."

"From what I understand Divestment allows for the exercise of more independent authority by the delegations, invests them with more responsibility to rule independently. Takes some of the weight of responsibility off the shoulders of the Sovereign." Bo said.

"That is its original intent, yes. But when it goes unchecked it leads to wars such as the War of Five Monarchs."

"And what absolute rule? Wouldn't that lead to despotism?"

"Do you think Mummy is a despot?"

"Absolutely not." Bo replied. "But she can be quite ruthless. Both your parents actually. The Monoliths being the latest and greatest eample."

"You would agree that Mummy acted appropriately in proportion to the crime committed?"

"Yes."

"So would you still consider Mummy a despot?" Jock asked.

"No."

"Just because one is granted absolute rule does not mean they will act with malicious intent."

"That cannot always be guaranteed."

"If this were a rule where leaders were selected democratically, perhaps. Here The Regnant is selected by Destiny itself."

"That may not guarantee the leader selected by Destiny will be a benevolent one."

"And this where we differ. I do not believe one whom is chosen to rule by Destiny is a defective choice. They are chosen for a purpose and because they are chosen they are divine." Jock said.

"You truly do sound like a member of a devout order."

"I advocate for a form of rule that you yourself may inherit one day."

"Do you think it will all come about? Supremacy?"

"Your Recognition alone brings to bear competing questions we must face as a Realm."

"Can we turn back the clock instead? Like 30 years? Because honestly, I am not ready for either question." Bo replied. Jock smiled.

"Well, then think of it this way: Supremacy would also benefit you and Dr. Lewis."

"How so?"

"With regard to marriage question."

"Oh. I think I see now."

"I thought you would." Jock replied.

Stasio Alesandese was making his way down a garden pathway when her heard a voice call out his name.

"Stasio Alesandese!"

"Yes?" Stasio answered.

"Grand Ducal Darius Vale! Remember me? We met at Rana McCorrigan's Installation?" Grand Ducal Vale said. He had two others with him.

"Ah, yes, Your Excellency. Pardon me. Still trying to learn to match faces with names." Stasio replied.

"Let me know when you master that skill. I need it! Allow me to introduce myself. I am Lysander Brixius, Deputy Primus for the Pillar of Intelligence."

"Your Excellency." Stasio replied.

"Please, I am not that grand yet. Only this one." Brixius said as he pointed to Grand Ducal Victor Savva.

"I am Grand Ducal Victor Savva of the Tulach Dynasty."

"Your Excellencies, nice to meet you all." Stasio replied.

"So how are you finding the Presidium?" Grand Ducal Vale asked.

"Beyond my wildest dreams. Beyond anyone's wildest dreams frankly. Why anyone would leave is beyond me." Stasio replied.

"Post-war politics can influence a great many things." Grand Ducal Savva replied.

"Yes, we have rebuilt the Realm quite ably, but there is still much to do." Grand Ducal Vale added.

"I suppose there is a reason for these introductions?" Stasio queried.

"You are perceptive." Deputy Primus Brixius noted.

"I work for Grand Ducal Marquis. I had better be." Stasio replied.

"Your petition for Inclusion is the talk of the Convocation, aside from Evony's return, the Recognized heir, the discussion of her desired marriage to Dr. Lewis notwithstanding. But I am curious to understand why a Fae with your lineage believes the Realm can benefit from claiming humans as allies rather than as cattle?" Grand Ducal Savva asked then saw Stasio stiffen a bit. "Forgive me, I did not mean to be so crass."

"I recognize there are…concerns, but the Human plane does have a great deal to offer, Your Excellency." Stasio replied.

"You know, maybe we are approaching this question the wrong way, Victor." Deputy Primus Brixius said.

"How so?" Grand Ducal Savva asked.

"Maybe we should be looking for support from the Humans." Deputy Primus Brixius replied.

"Support for what?" Stasio asked.

"Support for an initiative of ours." Grand Ducal Vale replied.

"Which one?" Stasio asked.

"Divestment." Grand Ducal Savva replied

"It's my understanding The Queen is undeclared on the subject." Stasio replied.

"The current governing framework was put into place to stabilize the Realm, not to serve as a permanent structure." Grand Ducal Vale said.

"There's a saying on the human plane 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it.' Sounds applicable here." Stasio replied.

"True, but simply because the temporary solution is stable doesn't mean it's the best solution. Granted, over time, we needed to restructure the framework to decisively meet new challenges with as little hindrances as possible. But now that we have reached a point of stabilization we can now Divest." Grand Ducal Savva said.

"I have learned from history, a couple of times firsthand in fact, how governing bodies fail to see that their first solution as their best solution." Stasio replied.

"After the War, stabilization was the correct course but as we have come to rebuild the Realm the emergency structure can now be discarded." Grand Ducal Savva said.

"What we are trying to say is that there are opportunities for both us. We can leverage our support to your cause, provided you leverage yours to ours." Grand Ducal Vale added.

"I thought the 25th Delegation were just mere cattle?" Stasio challenged.

"My dear Stasio, we all benefit so long as we work together. Think it forward such a partnership could elevate your chances to a position greater than your current circumstance for sure." Grand Ducal Vale replied.

"You are counting on a lot." Stasio said.

"Mainly only one thing." Grand Ducal Vale replied.

"And what is that?" Stasio asked.

"Your ambition." Grand Ducal Savva replied. Stasio just looked at him.

"I and my colleagues observed you making the rounds during Rana McCorrigan's Installation and here tonight. You are a man with aspirations beyond your current station, and even your current plane of existence. We could be highly influential and supportive. I trust we understand one another?" Grand Ducal Savva said.

"Perfectly." Stasio replied.

"A pleasure to meet you." Grand Ducal Vale said and then all three walked off. Stasio took a deep breath and exhaled.

The Banquet Hall was called to dinner. Their Majesties were directed to Rajah Polyhymnia's table as well as Bo and Lauren, Evony, Trick, and a selected 200 other dignitaries. Everyone in the hall stood until Their Majesties were seated first. The Queen Consort seat was in the middle of the table, Lavina Hetherington's seat was on her left and The Queen's seat was on her right. Saladin seat was next to The Queen and Bo and Lauren were seated opposite Their Majesties. Evony seat was on Lauren's right and Trick's seat was on Bo's left with Rajah Polyhymnia seated between them. Dyson and Stasio found themselves seated at a neighboring table with some of the other Viceroys and Deputies at the banquet.

As it was customary the Banquet Hall stood and waited for the Sovereigns to be seated first. As it was The Queen's habit she held out The Queen Consort's chair and Bo decided to follow suit with Lauren.

"Really? Here? Now?" Lauren whispered to Bo as all eyes watched.

"This is important, particularly now." Bo whispered back. Lauren looked to The Queen Consort sit down first but instead The Queen Consort waited for Lauren to take her seat. The hall noticed and whispers buzzed throughout the hall. Lauren blushed.

"Sweetie." Bo prompted. Lauren sat down and when she did then The Queen Consort sat down and the entire hall followed suit. As the bustle of bustle of conversations mixed throughout the hall Evony leaned over.

"Helen accorded you quite an honor of being seated first. It conveys to the entire Realm your importance. Take serious note." Evony said.

"I have and I do." Lauren replied.

The wait staff then came and surrounded the table with serving stands and set them down on the table. On top of each serving stand were pizzas.

"Polyhymnia! Pizza! How did you know?" Then Ari turned quickly to Helen. "Did you tell her?"

"You know I don't like when you eat this pizza." Helen replied.

"How then?" Ari asked.

"That would be me, Your Majesty." Regent Saladin replied. "Rajah Polyhymnia asked if there was anything special she could do for the dinner and I recommended this pizza you like. I contacted Rana McCorrigan and he had Agent Malikov send several recipes."

"There should be flats, deep pans…" Rajah Polyhymnia started.

"Deep dish." Trick softly corrected.

"Thank you, Fitzpatrick. Deep dishes, packed edges…" Rajah Polyhymnia continued.

"Stuffed crusts." Trick softly corrected again.

"Oh dear, I will never get all this lingo right, will I?" Rajah Polyhymnia questioned.

"You are doing fine." Trick assured.

"This is all extremely thoughtful, Polyhymnia. Helen won't allow me to eat it back at the Presidium."

"Well, look at it? It's dripping with grease!" Helen replied.

"Quite. Is it safe to eat?" Lavina asked.

"Define 'safe'." Helen replied. Everyone laughed. Ari looked around.

"Polyhymnia? Is this what everyone is being served?" Ari asked.

"Yes, Your Majesty. According to their dietary needs. We had to be quite creative with Rajah Uhane's delegation since his table is under water." Rajah Polyhymnia replied.

"His table is under water too, Your Supreme Excellency?" Dr. Lewis asked.

"Yes, Doctor." Rajah Polyhymnia replied.

"Now that I have got to see." Dr. Lewis said.

"Oh and none of the pizzas have green peppers. I was told not to have those put on them." Rajah Polyhymnia added to several smiles around the table.

"Polyhymnia, this is all perfect." Ari replied as she picked up a slice off the server which then cued the others to do the same. As they ate Ari and Saladin leaned into a quiet conversation with one another.

"Have Chancellor Vasteras grant an audience with the Viofynne Conglomerate to present their trial for consideration, and inform Primus Guilloy of my decision." The Queen directed.

"Primus Guilloy, Your Majesty?" Saladin asked.

"It seems that Primus Guilloy has some concerns about Viofynne, even though Primus Cocher was a champion of Viofynne." Ari replied.

"I see, Your Majesty. I will inform Primus Guilloy of your decision."

"Don't discourage him though. His reticence may later prove out."

"Yes, Your Majesty. It also seems Her Serene Highness Elena's whisper campaign is working."

"Very well it seems. Supremacy is being spoken of throughout the hall." Ari replied. Then someone caught Ari's eye at a neighboring table.

"Whose that next to Emilia?" Ari asked almost accusingly. Helen broke from her conversation with Lavina to see whom Ari was talking about.

"Honey, you know that's Dr. Padameshi." Helen replied.

"Why is he here at the banquet?" Ari asked.

"Since he is here for the meetings I invited him as a dinner companion for Emilia for the evening." Helen replied.

"Did Emilia know you invited him to dinner?" Ari asked.

"No." Helen replied then turned and resumed her conversation with Lavina. Ari looked resigned. Bo and Lauren at the exchange.

After dinner, with drinks in hand, Dr. Lauren Lewis and Dr. Emilia Prescotti followed by Drs. Kicho Asaro, Louis Padameshi, Mira Osheen, B'Lanna Makar, Stockley Easton and Alfred Riko found a nearby terrace and sat down in group of wide sofa chairs and took in the evening breeze.

"These things are such a production." Dr. Asaro said as she kicked off her shoes.

"And here I thought doctor gatherings were political." Dr. Osheen added.

"So B'Lanna, were you able to speak to Dr. Ortuso after dinner?" Lauren asked.

"Yes and she's fine with us recommending one of the human drug trials as the inaugural joint project." Dr. Makar replied.

"Which drug trial did you propose?" Dr. Asaro asked.

"The one on heart disease." Dr. Makar replied.

"That would be an enormous win for the JFM to introduce the cure for heart disease to the humans when we begin the transparency effort." Louis replied.

"Has Abigail and Lina been informed?" Lauren asked.

"Informed them right after we informed Dr. Ortuso." Louis replied.

"What about your proposal for the hospital in Grimley, treating both Fae and Humans together?" Emilia asked.

"That will be the true test of the transparency program." Dr. Easton replied.

"That it would. Right now, they will occupy the same hospital but will not co-mingle. Once the transparency plan goes through we can start the process of co-mingling." Lauren replied.

"Already ahead of us, eh?" Ariella said as she and Atia bounced out on the terrace. Ariella and Atia found two satees and sat down and stretched out with their drinks in hand. Rimma came out onto the terrace soon behind them.

"You left me to deal with Grand Ducal Bisset!" Rimma said as she entered.

"Apologies, sis! But his fawning was tiresome." Ariella replied.

"He was only trying to ingratiate himself now that Grand Ducal Marquis has returned. Is this how it's going to be now that she's returned?" Atia asked.

"Seems so." Rimma replied.

"Whom are you talking about?" Elena asked as she walked out onto the terrace with Julian.

"Grand Ducal Marquis." Rimma answered.

"What about her?" Julian asked as he and Elena sat down in chairs and the wait staff served them drinks.

"There's a great of political positioning now that she has returned." Emilia replied.

"Dr. Lewis, does this much fawning happen over the Grand Ducal back on the Human plane?" Ariella asked. Lauren scanned the room, all eyes were on her.

"Ah, well, the Fae are most certainly attentive." Lauren answered carefully.

"Meaning?" Ariella prompted.

"They are very aware of her power, or rather the strength of it for sure. There's a reason why she is, or was, The Morrigan. She's smart, ruthless, and very powerful. Even though the distinctions no longer exist. Both the Light and Dark Fae give her a wide berth." Lauren replied.

"You would think when you made her human someone would have taken advantage of the situation and killed her." Atia said.

"That is the strength of Evony. Even when she wasn't Fae she was still a person to be feared. Even more so when she was human." Lauren replied.

"Like a trapped snake, coiled and at the ready." Dakari commented.

"Apt comparison." Lauren replied.

"I can understand why she appealed to Mummy." Atia replied.

"Unfortunately, we are going to see a great deal more of proximity politics." Julian replied.

"Talk about proximity politics, what about Theo?" Ariella queried.

"What about her?" Antony asked as he and Dakari walked out onto the terrace and collapsed in nearby chairs.

"I saw her corner Saladin earlier." Ariella replied.

"Yes, well it is the Convocation. Everyone is jockeying about." Antony replied.

"The look on Saladin's face seem to convey he was not having a pleasant conversation." Ariella said.

"There you guys are!" Maxima said as she came out onto the terrace with Jock and sat down.

"Bailed already, I see?" Jock noted.

"A lot of posturing. More so than usual." Julian replied.

"I quite agree." Jock replied. Then the Seneschal appeared and walked over to Elena and quickly bowed.

"Your Serene Highness, a message from Grand Ducal Laaksonen." The Seneschal handed her the message.

"A message from Jusso? Is there a problem in Ashal?" Maxima asked.

"I don't know." Elena replied as she read it and then her face frowned.

"What is it?" Antony asked in response. Elena looked at the Seneschal.

"Where's Mummy and Mother?" Elena asked the Seneschal.

"Speaking with Engineer Prime Bristolis with The Princess Royal, Your Serene Highness." The Seneschal answered.

"Is there a problem, Your Serene Highness?" Lauren asked. Elena looked at Lauren.

"Whatever is affecting Nassoria has spread to Ashal." Elena replied as she stood up. That made everyone else stand up as well.

"I need to speak with Mummy and Mother." Elena said.

"We will go with you." Emilia replied as everyone followed Elena out of the room.

After they were briefed on a call with Grand Ducal Laaksonen Elena turned to her parents.

"I should go to Ashal to assess the situation directly." Elena said.

"I agree. When will you leave?" Ari asked.

"As soon as possible." Elena replied. Their Majesties nodded.

"I should go with you." Antony offered.

"Thank you, but you might be needed if the situation in Nassoria worsens." Elena replied.

"You will need a team to help you test and assess. I should go with you." Emilia said.

"The team I will take but the argument is the same for you as it for Antony. If this spreads past Ashal you will be needed in Diadin." Elena replied.

"You know, maybe we should send the children to investigate their respective patronages." Ari said.

"During the Convocation?" Helen asked.

"You think we should wait?" Ari countered.

"I think it would be best to wait until I can make an assessment first." Elena replied.

"Why is the land revolting?" Ari pondered.

"No one knows why yet, Mummy." Antony replied.

"To be honest, I should go." Ari said.

"Honey, you do realize that's not an option." Helen replied. Ari smiled.

"It's not the first time you've run a Convocation in my absence." Ari said which panicked Lauren.

"Your Majesties, please tell me that is not in the 'Companion in Rule' job description?" Lauren asked. Everyone smiled.

"We want daily reports." Helen said to Elena.

"Will do, Mother." Elena replied.

As they all stood up Lauren offered, "Your Serene Highness, I believe I can help."

"Doctor?" Elena queried.

"I have experience in situations like these. I believe I can help." Lauren replied.

"You just got back from the Human plane and you were injured at that." Emilia cautioned.

"I'm fine." Lauren replied. Everyone looked at Bo who held her hands up in surrender.

"Helping others is like catnip to Lauren. But Lauren, are you sure you're up for this?" Bo asked.

"I'm sure." Lauren replied. Everyone glanced at Bo who said nothing.

"Well, then Dr. Lewis. Form your team. We'll leave first thing in the morning." Elena replied.

Later as Their Majesties, The Princess Royal, Dr. Lewis, were saying their goodbyes to Rajah Polyhymnia for the evening, Evony approached with Trick right behind her.

"Your Majesty, I have a gift for you. From the Human plane." Evony said.

"It's not a claimed human is it?" Trick asked warily.

"Trick." Evony chastised.

"Just making sure." Trick replied.

"What is it?" The Queen asked. Evony nodded and her Principal Assistant Naomi came up with a creature practically hugging her. The Queen's face lit up and went up to Naomi and took the Pangolin from her. Bo and Lauren looked on puzzled.

"A Pangolin?" Lauren prompted.

"Pangolins are extinct here. We had them all over the Homelands when I was a child. I had a special one that was mine. But some sort of virulent plague took them out." The Queen replied.

"I grabbed a few on the way out and settled them on the Human plane hoping to regrow the population, but now they are being hunted and killed to the point of extinction for their curative properties." Evony replied.

"Barbaric!" Rajah Polyhymnia said.

"Why didn't you tell me when I was there?" The Queen asked.

"I wanted to surprise you." Evony replied.

"Well, you most certainly did." Helen replied.

"And they are nearly extinct?" The Queen asked.

"Yes, Your Majesty." Evony replied.

"Not anymore." The Queen declared then looked at the Seneschal. "Is Chancellor Maganti here?"

"Yes, Your Majesty." The Seneschal replied.

"Find him!" The Queen directed.

"Yes, Your Majesty." The Seneschal replied and then turned and left. The Queen looked around and saw her sister Chione nearby.

"Chione!" Ari shouted which made everyone nearby turn around. When Chione turned Ari raised the Pangolin in the air.

"Look!" Ari said with a wide smile. Chione came up followed by their sisters Yammy and Eshe.

"Oh my word! I thought we'd never see another one again." Eshe said.

"Not again." Yammy said.

"Eh?" Chione chastised.

"You and Ari had those things all over the Main House. I was glad to see the back of them." Yammy replied.

"Spoken like a true big sister, Yam." Eshe chastised.

"Well, I'm not going to lie about it. And I have no idea how Mummy and Papa put up with them." Yammy replied.

"With love, that's how. Where did you find one?" Chione asked.

"Evony absconded with a few of them when she left for the Human plane." Ari replied.

"To regrow the population." Evony added.

"Is that what I think it is?" said Nehanda, Ari's younger sister when she approached with Ina, Helen's sister in tow.

"Yes! Evony brought this one back from the Human plane. She just informed me they are being hunted to the point of extinction there." Ari replied. Then Helen's sisters Lilas and Aline came up.

"Goodness! What on the planes is that?" Lilas asked.

"A Pangolin." Eshe replied.

"Really? And you are touching it, Your Majesty?" Aline asked horrified.

"Please! She had one as a pet and had tons of them running all over the Homelands." Nehanda replied.

"Oh dear!" Lilas said.

Chancellor Coren Maganti, Chancellor of Presidium Wildlife Conservatory came up and bowed low.

"Your Majesty?" Chancellor Maganti prompted.

"Look!" Ari held up the Pangolin again.

"A Pangolin, Your Majesty? I thought they were extinct?" Chancellor Maganti asked.

"They were and are about to be again. I want every single one of them saved and brought back to the Presidium." The Queen directed.

"Yes, Your Majesty. I will assemble teams to work with the Grand Ducal and her staff to coordinate the effort." Chancellor Maganti asked.

"Evony, this is the most considerate gift. Thank you!" Ari said then turned to Helen and grinned broadly who understood what the big grin meant.

"If I recall Pangolins also emit a defensive smell?" The Queen Consort asked Chancellor Maganti.

"Yes, Your Majesty." Chancellor Maganti replied. Helen turned to Ari and gently rubbed her back.

"I think you will agree it would be best if we kept it at the Chateau?" Helen said to Ari.

"Of course. But you would agree after the Convocation?" Ari countered. Helen exhaled.

"That's fine." Helen replied. Ari smiled and cooed some more at the Pangolin.

"What should we name it?" Ari asked.

"May I recommend a name, Your Majesty?" Evony offered.

"Of course!" Ari replied.

"Ajani. It's African for 'He who wins the struggle. Victorius.' Seems right." Evony replied.

"Yes, it does. That's a beautiful recommendation, Evony, and it sounds perfect!" Helen said.

"Ajani it is!" Ari nodded and handed the Pangolin over to the Seneschal then rubbed its head.

"We shall see you later, Ajani." Ari said as the Seneschal took the Pangolin away. Then Ariella, Saladin and Rimma walked up.

"Your Mother and I were about to depart for the evening." Ari said.

"There is one final matter that needs your attention." Ariella said.

"Oh. Did I miss something on the schedule?" Ari asked.

"Please follow me." Ariella replied.

"Good evening everyone!" The Queen Consort said as she wrapped her arm around The Queen's and left with Ariella, and The Princess Royal, Dr. Lewis, Saladin and Rimma followed behind them. Yammy then turned her attention to Evony.

"Well, Evony. Seems like you have made your presence known again." Yammy said.

"My intentions are honorable ones, Yammy." Evony replied.

"Let us just hope they remain that way." Yammy replied, turned and walked off.

"I don't have to tell you Yammy's feelings." Eshe said.

"No you don't." Evony replied.

"In any respect, welcome back!" Eshe said softy with a light pat on her arm then she turned and went off after Yammy.

Ariella led as she led them outside onto a side balcony. When they looked out and over they saw the Knights of the Guard, an honor contingent of 100,000 of them in formation. Their Majesties smiled.

"After the scare of almost losing you on the Human Plane The Knights of the Guard wished to demonstrate their fealty." Ariella explained.

"I am well assured of their fealty." The Queen replied.

"Nevertheless, Your Majesty." Saladin counseled. The Queen took a step forward and then Regent Saladin raised his right arm.

"Knights of Guard! Salute your Sovereign!" Ariella commanded.

"Unto victory! Unto glory! Unto death!" The Knights thundered.

"Again!" Ariella commanded.

"Unto victory! Unto glory! Unto death!" The Knights thundered.

"Again!" Ariella commanded.

"Unto victory! Unto glory! Unto death!" The Knights thundered.

"Ever in the service of the Regnant, in honor of the realm." Regent Saladin, Ariella and Rimma concluded together.

The Queen smiled and addressed the Knights:

"The Knights of the Guard do me great honor. We have come a long way in the last 1400 years. We've fought for the prosperity we currently enjoy and it our sacred duty as Knights to preserve the Realm against any manner of host, and to do so with honor. Each one of you are a reflection of that honor, and as your Sovereign I am blessed. May you hand be blessed, may you always prosper, may your life last long. In honor of the Realm." The Queen concluded to thunderous applause.

Bo and Lauren said goodnight to their children and then returned to their private bedroom apartments.

"After I see you off tomorrow I will need to return to Ebon to be with Her Majesty." Bo said.

"I'm kind of nervous about leaving the children for the first time like this with you and I are both gone. I would take them with if I was sure about the safety of the situation." Lauren replied.

"Don't worry. They will have an entire army tending to their every need while we are both gone." Bo said. Then the Seneschal appeared.

"Dyak Harte has arrived, Milady." The Seneschal announced.

"Oh good. I asked for the staff so we can starting forming the team." Lauren said to Bo.

"Can you give us a minute?" Bo said to the Seneschal who bowed and left.

"What's up?" Lauren prompted.

"I just wanted to say you are amazing." Bo replied.

"Why, thank you!"

"No, really. You are. Look at all what you're doing, what you've been through in these last few weeks, managing the children, our family, my mother."

"I'm only trying to do my part. After all, you will be Queen of all this one day." Lauren replied as raised her hands in the air.

"I know, but still."

"Thank you, sweetie."

"I love you."

"And I you."

"Come here." Bo said. Lauren knew that tone.

"I don't think we have that kind of time."

"Let's make the time." Bo said as she pulled Lauren close and they fell into a deep kiss.

Ari and Helen returned to their guest private apartments on Ebon. After Ari finished preparing for bed she found her wife in her evening robe leaning against their bedroom balcony doorway looking out at the Ebon night sky.

"Beautiful night." Ari noted as she came up behind her wife.

"Yes. It is." Helen replied.

"Punctuated by a beautiful woman." Ari said. Helen smiled as she continued to look out the doorway. Ari dropped her robe revealing her naked body and came up behind her wife and put her arms around her waist tightly and kissed her lightly along her cheek and neck.

"You are so beautiful." Ari said.

"As are you." Helen replied as she reached back with her right hand and ran it through Ari's hair.

"Something occupies your thoughts?" Ari asked.

"It does." Helen replied.

"What is it?" Ari asked.

"Atia." Helen replied.

"I see."

"We need to attend to it soon."

"Has she come to you again?" Ari asked.

"Not lately, but the Monadori Sanctuary says she is showing intermittent signs." Helen replied.

"I spoke to Evony that we needed her help but I wasn't specific. I told her we would speak after the meetings had started. I was hoping any signs would hold until after the Convocation."

"I'm just concerned."

"Don't be. Let's have the meetings start and then we can speak with Evony."

"Good." Helen replied. Ari hugged Helen tighter then turned her around to face her. Helen saw her wife was naked and smiled in admiration. Ari's dark brown skin shimmered against the night moon.

"My love." Helen said. Ari replied by peeling the robe off her shoulders and dropping it to the floor. Helen's fulsome milky white breasts rested against Ari's as Ari drew Helen in for a deep kiss.

"So what is on the agenda for the rest of the week for Mummy and Mother?" Rimma asked Saladin when they returned to the guest offices set up for them at Rajah Polyhymnia's palatial compound.

"Of course, they have the general tour of Ebon, where they will receive an update briefing on the current agricultural and infrastructure projects."

"Mummy will enjoy the agricultural part."

"The Planar Business Council is here and wishes to meet on resource sharing with regard to a couple innovation initiatives that are being proposed."

"Related to the proposed package agreements, I presume."

"You presume correctly. Then Her Majesty has to chair the Impact Assessment Review between the Seas of Kaennimos and the Grasogus Territories planes. Then Their Majesties have a luncheon with the Rajahs themselves."

"I don't have to guess what will be discussed there."

"The Council of Faeries requested an audience to discuss the impact of Evony's return."

"Parisa sits on the Council already. What is the purpose of this meeting?"

"There is a concern now that Evony has returned she may reassert her prominence to sit on the Council instead of her mother. After all, it was her father Grand Ducal Serene Highness Andrae Marquis who sat on the Council first and was expected to be replaced by Evony before she decided to leave the Realm."

"Honestly, that sounds more like a familial matter rather than a matter for the Sovereign."

"I quite agree, but Ari agreed to the meeting. Then Their Majesties will spend a couple of days at their Chateau…"

"With Mummy's new pet." Rimma commented. Saladin allowed a slight grin.

"And then there a meeting request from Grand Ducal Serene Highness du Morvois to formally discuss a framework for Divestment."

"And Mummy agreed?"

"Actually, the request is to meet with The Queen Consort. Privately." Saladin replied. Rimma's eyes widened.

"Does Mummy know? Does Antony know?"

"The Queen Consort doesn't even know. Grand Ducal du Morvois approached me before we all sat down to dinner. Now that there's an evident heir to the Throne the issue has a sense of urgency to it. We've had 1400 years of brokered peace, and now some of Delegations want their old powers back. It's quite shrewd of Theo to approach The Queen Consort. Leverage 'bedroom politics' so to speak."

"This Convocation Agenda is becoming more and more complicated with the implied agendas."

"To say the least." Saladin replied. The Rimma stood up and rounded Saladin's desk and sat on top of it and crossed her legs, the split of her dress showing off her long, slender, dark brown legs. Saladin met her gaze.

"So, when are we going to tell my parents?" Rimma asked as she caressed the side of his face.

"Whenever I think the time is appropriate something else arises."

"I think our lives are going to become increasingly more complicated where no time will be a good time."

"How does one tell their dearest friends they are in love with their daughter?" Saladin asked.

"Very straightforward."

"You make it sound so simple."

"That's because it is that simple. I love you." Rimma said as she leaned in and their lips met in a deep kiss.
