"Oi, what the hell did you mean by that?" Hachiman drops his politeness in favor of getting his answer, "We are going the wrong way."

Kiana, hearing that she was getting them lost, slows her step but doesn't look back yet still answers, "You just had this look, rotten fish eyes but that's beside the point, that, I don't know but… Let's talk about this later?"

"No, I want answers now."

"Arghghg, look you got this look that showed you didn't care to pretend alright? Unlike the others in our class. Well excluding Mei but she's my type. You're happy now?"

At this point, both of them stopped walking and stood in front of the staircase while squinting their eyes at each other. Hachiman peers deeply into her eyes, trying to find any deceit in her words yet finds none.

They stay in this position for a while, until he slowly nods, "The cafeteria is to the left here." He gestures with his head toward the left of him.

Kiana blinks before her stomach rumbles, making her cheeks slightly redden, "Haha, what are we waiting for? Come on." She looks down, only to see that she's still holding his hand, "Oh, um, sorry, still getting used to here…" She slowly lets go.

"…It's fine," His cheeks redden before he coughs, "Follow me." He starts to walk, not waiting for a response nor looking back, yet he knows she's following him by the sound of footsteps. Well, at least he hopes so since he sees other people looking at him, prompting him to walk a bit, just a bit, faster.

"Hachiman, let's sit over there." Kiana points over to a secluded table, far away from the other tables inside of the cafeteria building. She glances back to see Hachiman slightly nods as confirmation, making her smile as she turns around and carries her tray of food that is enough to feed 5 people to the table.

"You should eat more, Hachiman." She puts her tray down and sits down while looking at him, who is only carrying an egg sandwich and a max coffee, "Hey, can I try some of your drink?"

He looks at her with a raised eyebrow, silently telling her how weird of her to ask, yet she doesn't notice it due to the fact that she already has the drink in her hand.

"Wait what?" Hachiman looks to his hands, only to see his left holding the egg sandwich but his right holding nothing, "How?"

"Muahahaha, never underestimate a Kaslana and their ability to steal food in the blink of an eye!"

"So that makes your family a bunch of thieves?"

She doesn't say anything, but she accidentally squeezes the max coffee a bit too much. The liquid trails down her hand, making her blink then widening her eyes.

"Shit! I'm sorry Hachiman, look I'll go buy you a new drink; wait right –"

"It's… Alright… Just give me the money to buy it and I'll go." He extends his hand to her, while looking at her with his dead fish eyes expression, making her shut her mouth and silently hands the money to him.

He gets up and quickly heads over to the vending machine nearby, not noticing the stormy look on Kiana.

"Looks like the word "family" might be a taboo word for her…" Hachiman mutters as he puts the money into the machine, "…Is it too early to ask her why she acted like that?"

Shaking his head as he retrieves his drink, he berates himself, "Of course it's too early… If only my precious little sister was here…" He quickly makes his way over to the table, effortlessly dodging the other students who don't notice him.

"Looks like stealth hikki still works… Does it not work on airheads? No, it should…" He muses but stops as he sees a few male students at his table, "Oh great…"

Hachiman looks around, only to sigh as he sees nowhere to hide or go, then sighs again as he remembers that he left his sandwich with Kiana, "…Go grab my sandwich and leave." He reluctantly nods as he doesn't want to go grab a new sandwich.

He slowly walks closer to them, hearing a few words that already make his blood boil, and it only increases as he closes in.

"Come on, let me show you around," One of the guys says while holding his hand out to her while the other guys nod along, "I promise I'll make it worth your while~"

Kiana cringes as she swats the hand away, "Ew, gross, no way. You sound like those F rate thugs in manga whose existence is to become a cliché way for authors to make an attempt at a gag by using overused ideas."

The guy flinches, same with the others, "I knew it was a bad idea to use that pick up line… Come on guys…" He slumps his head down as he turns around to walk away then motions for the others to follow him.

Hachiman weaves his way around them then stands on the opposite side of Kiana, "Nice comeback."

She beams at him, "Thanks, I've been reading those manga where authors like to use cliché punch lines to get their work successful, kinda like those… light novels." Her expression turns into disgust at the end.

He raises an eyebrow, "What's wrong with light novels?"

"Urghghg, where do I start? I had finished a manga and wanted to know the ending, so I took a go at the light novel of it and it sucked. Like, arghhggh, the author used too many cliches afterwards that it made me stop reading it! I like the manga of it but it just, you know, fell after that."

He slowly nods while putting a reminder to himself to not mention that he likes those trashy light novels (he doesn't want to risk his luck with her gorilla like strength, no thank you.) and he changes the topic, "Hey, your food is going cold."

She looks down and blinks as she sees her steaming hot foods have stopped emitting steam, "Ah! My food!" She quickly begins to eat, not caring for how she looks at the moment.

Hachiman looks at her with disgust as he sees bits of food fly off, "Oi, can't you eat more cleanly?" He grumbles as he bits into his sandwich while keeping his max coffee close to his body.

*A...N*

I know that my title did say the self loathing commander and all but I want to flesh out the introduction to that, ok? I don't like to explain things in past tense unless I really need to. Also, I'll be putting this fic on hold for a while since I want to write other fics (got huge plans for danganronpa, tower of god, genshin, and a crossover where cosplayers get the power of who they are cosplaying as). Anyway, on to the comments:

bluecookie420 - I have free time until March, the day I resume my studies, so you can bet I'll use this time to write until that day! (Or until I am dead.)

roymustang949 - Erm, so, I'll just spoil a bit on one of my plan on getting the female cast to be here... It involves the Honkai, zombies, and them being resistance to it, like the valkyries. So, if you know or google it on what happens to people un-resistant to Honkai... Yeah.

Renashi-RE012 - Yep, Yukino was more subtle in her approach while Kiana is like a wrecking ball.

ArmantusCumPinnae - Yeah, that was back when I first started writing (like at 10 ish, I think?) and posted the story online, which you can guess what happened when I received lots of flame. Actually, I consider that moment to be more perfect in grammar, sentence structure, etc, than right now where I am writing for my own enjoyment and showing my world to the everybody else. Also, thanks for the 6.5 grade since I still find it mind boggling on how my fics are getting attention even though its like what 2000? 1000? Even less words for each chapter, since I usually read fics that have high word count for a chapter. So, for the 2nd sentence, just wait since it's a key development for him and somebody to resolve (oh who am I kidding? All of them will help to solve it.) For the last one, um, it wasn't as impactful? Or something like the first one, so this chapter continued as usual.
