Chapter 4: Two Spiders, One Connection Begins

Late the next day after getting settled into the hotel, Crystal is able to start to have a normal life in Hell. Well as normal as Hell can be. Crystal walks down the stairs to see Charlie and Vaggie walking at the front desk.

Crystal walks down and says, "Morning."

Charlie happily turns to Crystal and says, "Morning, how did you sleep?"

"I slept okay. Still having a bit of a time wrapping my head on everything that happened," Crystal says.

"Seems understandable, given what happened yesterday. You ended up arriving at Hell after the Extermination, which is a good thing. Then you got yourself involved with a Turf War with Angel. And then you met us, and you met the Radio, and nearly got pleased by the snake at the Turf War. So yeah, that's a lot for you to take in," Vaggie says.

"I have to agree, and I actually like it when you're being direct and honest," Crystal says.

"Thanks," Vaggie says.

"So Crystal, what are your plans today?" Charlie asks.

"I was kind of hoping to ask you that. You know, with me being new all. I will need to get awesome new clothes, food, supplies, and anything else I can think of. Since I'll be staying here," Crystal says.

"Oh yeah. Since you'll be staying here working and will be taking part in the Redemption project, you will be needing a few things," Charlie says.

"True, but I just got to Hell yesterday, so I don't have any money. I was thinking about, you know, finding another job to earn some money," Crystal says.

"Uh trust me, you're better off working here," Vaggie says.

"Why?" Crystal asks.

"Well, you just got into Hell yesterday, and you don't know the jobs they have can be a bit on the uneasy side," Vaggie says.

"Why'd you say that?" Crystal asks.

"She means the sinners and demons here are fuckin' bitches," A bored voice says.

The group turns their heads to see Husk who is sitting at the bar close by,

Then says, "And there are some bosses you don't want to get yourself messed with. There are demons that are powerful and more evil than others. If you're not careful, well, you'll find yourselves in deep shit."

"Are the bosses here really that bad? I mean, I heard that bosses can act like slave drivers, but still…" Crystal says.

"Yeah. There are not that many good bosses, some are worse than others. You're better off just working with us," Vaggie says.

"Um sure. So, I know I told Alastor some of the things that I can do, and I do like to know if you have any ideas for what I can work at," Crystal replies.

"Of course. Maybe we can go over a list of stuff you can do. That way we can get an idea on what work you can do," Charlie says.

"Sure… Well, I told you that my family are assassins, well except for my mom. I'm good at shooting sports and archery. I'm also flexible and learn how to fight so I could be a security guard. I do sometimes sing and dance at my uncle's restaurant so I can be a performer. I can cook food, so I can be a chef. I am also good with some paperwork because I helped my father so I can help with that and I was student president at my school a few years. I also like to paint and draw so I can make some posters for your hotel. I do sometimes help my dad and brother fix things in the house," Crystal says, naming the idea.

She sighs and says, "I'm not making things easy for you, am I?"

"To be honest, despite you being an assassin, your life seems to be more… normal," Vaggie says.

"True, but that means you have a lot of varieties on what you want to work here in the hotel. You might be able to have more than one job here," Charlie happily says.

Crystal blushes and says, "Uh, thanks."

Just then, Angel Dust walks towards them from the dining room.

"Hey girls, how is your morning?" Angel asks.

"It was good until you came along," Vaggie mutters.

"Hey!" Angel says, feeling offended.

Crystal chuckles and says, "Sorry about that. I didn't mean to laugh."

"Right," Angel says, rolling his eyes.

Then asks, "What are you up to?"

"That's what I'm trying to find out. Crystal does have a lot of talent, she could actually have more than one job here," Charlie says.

"I don't know. I can multitask, but not sure about taking two jobs," Crystal says, blushing a little.

"Well then, how about I give you a real tour of the city. You didn't exactly get to see it because you were wondering around and got involved in the Turf War," Angel says.

"Sure. I'm curious to know what this city has. And that doesn't involve anything too extreme," Crystal says.

"That's good. I actually have a favor to ask you two," Charlie says.

"What's that?" Crystal asks.

Charlie blushes a little, "Um, can you get some groceries? I do admit, we do need to stock in order to make some food."

"Sure. I don't mind," Crystal asks.

Angel shrugs his shoulders, "Sure… whatever. Come on kid, we're heading out."

"Um sure," Crystal says.

"Okay then, here some money and a list of what we need. Of course, some of the money is your payment," Charlie says, holding two packs of money and a piece of paper.

"Okay, but for what?" Crystal says, and takes the items and puts them in her pocket.

"For helping us. Plus, you did say you could use some new clothes and stuff, so yeah." Charlie happily says.

"Okay. Thank you," Crystal says, still a little surprised.

She then follows Angel and says, "We'll see you later."

"Bye," Charlie happily says.

Crystal follows Angel out the door and heads off to get the stuff Charlie has on her list.

After time of walking, Angel and Crystal are walking down the sidewalk. Crystal looks around to see so many different demons like what she has seen the day before.

Crystal asks, "So um, Angel, what was it like living down here?"

"Well, Hell has been very eventful. The Turf Wars, the explosions, the many demons living here, and a lot more that I can name. Either way, it's also fuckin' hell to say," Angel says.

"I guess so. When I thought of Hell, I thought of something more dead and uh, a lot of fire. I'm surprised to see this Hell it's like a different type of civilization all together. Makes me wonder if Heaven is the same way, but has different laws, different culture, and all that," Crystal says.

"Okay, now you're talking boring stuff. Let's go to a bar and grab something to drink. You do drink don't you?" Angel asks.

"Not as much. I think the only thing I drink is mostly whine and some soju, and apple cider, but not anything strong. It makes my head fuzzy and my body wobbly. Either way, I'm actually getting a little hungry," Crystal says.

"Well then, I know just the place to go. We can go grab some lunch while we're there," Angel says.

"Alright," Crystal says.

Soon enough, the two head to a bar where they can get something to eat and some drinks. Angel Dust has some liquor while Crystal has some apple cider. Of course, they also grab some lunch as well.

Crystal asks, "So um, Angel, I remember you telling me that you're a Porn Star, so does that means you're famous."

"You can say that. I'm actually quite famous around here," Angel says.

Then asks, "Have you heard of a Porn Star or watch any adult films that have sex and such," Angel says.

Crystal blushes so much that her face actually turns red.

She then stammers, "W-w-well. I-Uh-well… I don't really like it to be honest. My brother actually likes watching it… and well… it seems really extreme that people can do this for a living and, and well."

She then covers her face, "It's just too much for me."

Angel laughs, "You're really not into those things are you?"

"Well, the only way I ended up watching something with sex is when they appear in action films that are rated R," Crystal says, embarrassed.

"Whatever you say," Angel says.

Crystal takes a deep breath and says, "I got a bit weird didn't I."

"Not your fault," Angel says.

Crystal then asks, "So Angel, what's it like to be a demon?"

"Depends what you mean?" Angel asks.

"I mean that… how did you um, able to handle when you uh…" Crystal says, sounding nervous.

"When I die and wake up to find myself in Hell and have taken a completely different appearance with possible abilities I thought only exist on television," Angel calmly says.

Crystal slowly nods her head, "Um, yeah. Sorry, is it too personal?"

"No worries. It's just well, I hardly have been asked that before," Angel says.

"Really?" Crystal replies.

"Yeah. I do admit, I was a bit confused about it at first, but I somehow was able to make the most of it. Then I started working at the Porn Studios and became famous. I also met Cherri and we've been pretty tight," Angel says.

"So Cherri is your friend? I was just wondering if she's your girlfriend," Crystal replies.

Angel laughs, "No way! She's my best friend and my girl buddy! We're not dating if that's what you're thinking!"

"Sorry. I shouldn't assume," Crystal says.

"That's okay. Any other questions," Angel says.

"Um sure. What it's like to be a Porn Star?" Crystal says.

Angel however, doesn't say a word to her, or answers her question right away. Instead, he turns away from her a little not showing his face.

Concern, Crystal asks, "Angel, did… Did I say something wrong?"

Angel calmly sighs and turns his head back to her, "No. You didn't. Being a big shot Porn Star it's been good so far. Sure, I get scolded one in a while, but being a big shot isn't all um fun and games and such."

"Um okay. I guess it will be hard for you to always have to uh… you know," Crystal says, feeling weary about the subject.

"No, I don't know. Care to finish that sentence?" Angel remarks with a grin.

Crystal giggles and then playfully punches Angel on his shoulder, "Oh you."

Soon, the two Spider Demons begin laughing with big smiles on their faces.

However, in Crystal's thought, she says, "Angel seems a bit skeptical when I asked him about his job. I wonder if there's more to it than what he and the others told me. It's probably best not to think too much about it, but… why do I get the feeling there is something he doesn't want to explain, and makes me worried. Probably best to drop the subject, while I have the chance.

After having lunch, Angel continues to show Crystal around the city. Soon, they find themselves at a building that looks like a mall. Crystal is surprised to find a mall somewhere in Hell and Demons actually hang out there. Of course, most of the stores are… unusual. Some of the stores look like they're from different time periods, even from her time.

Crystal turns to Angel, "Hey Angel, I notice that some of the stores look like they're from the 1920's, 50's, 70's, and 80's, stuff like that. Some look like it's even further."

"It's because those who arrived to Hell set up shops here. Some kind of reflect the time period when they died," Angel says.

"That kind of explains why you're dressed like you're from the 1940's and why I'm dressed like I'm in the year 2000 when I first came down here," Crystal says.

She then looks at the four arms, "But why do I have four arms? I've noticed that all the demons are different from one another. Some have wings, horns, extra limbs, and all that."

"I don't really know about that stuff, but what I know for myself as a Spider demon. I guess it's because of my connected web with my family. That's a crime , lots of the weapons I've learned from Cherri. From what I remember, the people who died and arrived here changed depending on what their sins, or any connection to their past lives. At least, that's what I understand," Angel says.

Crystal blinks her eyes a few times, "Based on the sins and any connections to past lives. Then I became a Spider Demon because of my past life."

"That sounds about right. There's a lot you need to learn about Hell. It's nothing like when you were alive. It's kill or be killed and such," Angel says.

"I see," Crystal says.

"But enough about that. Let's get you some stuff and then take care of the princess' errands," Angel says.

"Right," Crystal replies.

Angel Dust and Silver Crystal then walk into one of the stores so Crystal can get a few clothes. Crystal is surprised to see that there are clothes that have four sleeves for someone like her. Crystal looks around and picks out a few long sleeve shirts, mostly blue, white, and black, a few ties and bow ties, a few black and blue pants, dark color boots, and a few black and dark blue blazer jackets, and other kinds of clothes she might need. She is able to buy them in no time at all. They also head to other stores and places and Crystal is able to buy a few more things like a backpack, wallet, coin bag, pocket notebook with some pencils and pens, anything else she might need since she's going to be living here.

After that, the two spiders continue to walk around the stores before heading out to get the groceries for Charlie. Crystal is holding her bags and learns that having four arms actually comes in handy.

"Having four arms really comes in handy when you have much to carry," Crystal says.

"Yeah. Still, I say that you're going to need a weapon or two since you'll be in this place," Angel says.

"I suppose, but I think I got what I need for today. I can worry about getting a weapon another time," Crystal says.

"If you say so," Angel says.

Crystal asks, "So Angel, what's it like to have four arms? Bet it comes in real handy when you have work and such."

"You could say that, but who says I only have four arms," Angel says with a grin.

"What?" Crystal asks.

Angel then lifts his four arms and then another pair of arms appears from under the two pairs of arms.

Crystal becomes shocked, "What in the?!"

"Yeah. Me being a spider, I'm able to gain two more of those limbs, and I'm sure you can do it too. Since you're new, you're going to need to learn how to do it," Angel says.

Crystal then asks, "Um, can you teach me how to do it?"

"Hmm, I suppose I could, but it mostly comes naturally for me. I'm sure you can do it, but I'll at least help you practice. Given I have good experience," Angel says.

Crystal smiles and says, "Thank Angel."

Then hugs him with a smile on her face, much to Angel's simply smiles and places his hand on Crystal's head and ruffles her hair a little.

Time has gone by and the two Spider Demons are able to take care of Charlie's errand, and take a taxi back to the hotel. It's a bit of a long ride, but with so many bags and stuff, it might be too much of a problem. And soon, they arrive back at the hotel .They walk inside the lobby to meet with Vaggie.

Crystal says, "We're back, and I think we got everything."

"Thanks. I hope Angel hasn't been giving you trouble, or got you into trouble," Vaggie says.

"As a matter of fact, toots. Crystal and I actually have a quiet day, maybe boring, but we had a good time," Angel says.

"Why do I find that doubtful?" Vaggie mutters.

Crystal reassures, "It's okay Vaggie, Angel and I didn't have any trouble at all. Nothing bad has happened, honest."

"If you say so," Vaggie says.

"Of course we say so. Nothing happens, just don't get your ribbon in a knot," Angel says.

Vaggie begins to grit her teeth and mutters something. It's not easy to tell, but Crystal suspects that Vaggie wants to kill Angel.

Crystal thinks, "I wonder if Angel and Vaggie have been like this since they first met each other, because it seems those two are not in very good terms."

After putting the groceries away and getting her stuff in her room, the hotel has been quiet. Angel Dust then opens the door that leads to Crystal's room.

"Hey Crystal, though you might want to head downstairs and…" Angel says, but stops to see Crystal is fast asleep on the bed.

Angel is confused to see her fast asleep. Then again, he figures that she must still be kind of tired from yesterday's events. The taller spider demon walks to Crystal to see her sleeping peacefully as her hair dangles down from her head.

Angel smiles and pets her on the head, "Cute kid."

Suddenly, Angel then hears vibrating sounds coming from his pocket. He reaches into his pocket and takes out his cellphone. Before he answers, he looks at the screen to see who is calling. Seeing who the caller is… let's just say it put Angel in a very foul mood.
