Chapter 10: A New Feathery Guest

It's been a week since the incident with the gangsters and things have been kind of quiet at the hotel. Well, as quiet as the hotel can be. Crystal is sitting at the bar with Husk who is simply drinking his booze.

Crystal sighs, "I'm bored."

"Yeah. What else is fuckin' new?" Husk questions.

Crystal then asks, "So Husk, you feel up for playing cards?"

"Not right now, but later," Husk answers.

"Okay," Crystal calmly says.

Crystal then sighs and leaves the bar and into the lobby. As she is preparing to head upstairs, she hears a knock at the door.

"Someone's at the door," Crystal says to herself.

Crystal walks over and opens the door. To her surprise, she sees a demon that is a little shorter than she is. This demon actually looks like a harpy. She has pale white skin with light purple hair about shoulder length, and lavender color wings and red eyes. She also has legs that resemble a bird that has sharp claws. She is wearing a dark purple sleeve dress that is tied by a ribbon around her neck, and black tights. She is also wearing a red, burgundy, and purple flower patterned headband with purple feathers on it. She is holding a suitcase in her hand that is pink with purple flowers on it.

The girl nervously asks, "Um, excuse me, but um… is this the Happy Hotel?"

"Yes. Well, it's kind of called the Hazbin Hotel now," Crystal says.

Then mutters with an annoyed expression, "Thanks to a certain demon that sounds like he has a radio in his throat."

Then turns to the girl with a smile, "So, what can I do for you?"

"Um… you see. This may sound silly, but I like to apply for the Redemption project and if it's also possible, can I also get a job here. If… if that's alright…" The girl says.

"Um sure. I'll ask Charlie and she can get you signed up. By the way, my name is Silver Crystal, but you can call me Crystal since it is my real name," Crystal says.

The Harpy demon girl smiles and says, "Thank you. My… My name is Lilac."

"Nice to meet you, Lilac. I'll show you in and I'll see if I can find Charlie," Crystal says.

Lilac nods her head and walks inside and Crystal closes the door.

As they walk down the lobby Crystal says, "I'll ask Husk to see if he can get you a room key and I'll help show you to your room."

"Thank you," Lilac says.

Suddenly, the demon princess walks down the stars as she asks, "Crystal, was someone at the door? I hope it's not another one of those…"

Crystal turns to see Charlie reaching the bottom step as she stops to see the Harpy Demon with her luggage.

"Hey Charlie, this is Lilac, she likes to know if she can join your program and like to have a job here," Crystal says.

Charlie hurries to Lilac and happily shakes her left wing, "Really? I'm so glad! Welcome to the Happy Hotel… I mean Hazbin Hotel! You are going to love it here!"

Lilac blushes a little and says, "Um, yes. Thank you."

Then releases her wing from Charlie's grip.

She cursey and says, "I'm Lilac Harpy, your highness. It's an honor to meet you."

"Oh, you don't have to be formal with me. You can just call me Charlie," Charlie happily says.

"Okay," Lilac says.

Charlie brings out some papers and one of the room keys.

"Okay, so I will need you to fill it out so that I can register you to the program," Charlie says.

"Okay," Lilac says.

She uses one of her claws on her wings to write. She wrote her name. Age: 25. Death Date: June 17, 1993. Sins: Drug smuggling, Having Sex, and murder. And other information.

Once she's done, Charlie happily takes the paper and says, "Thank you. I hope you'll enjoy your stay."

"Thank you. So um, if you don't mind me asking, is there anything I can do. Work wise," Lilac replies.

"I'm not sure. What can you do?" Charlie asks.

"Well. I can do some deliveries. I can't do too much with my wings, but I can also sing, and dance while flying. And maybe help with cleaning," Lilac says.

"Sure. I think you can help Niffty with the cleaning and I'm sure you can help with deliveries if we need them," Charlie says.

"Sure," Lilac says.

"Yo princess! Christy!" Someone calls out.

The girls turn their heads to see Angel Dust walking down the stars. Crystal actually begins to blush a little to see him.

"Um, hi Angel. Morning," Crystal calmly says, feeling flustered.

"Hey Crystal, morning. So what are you two doing?" Angel asks.

Then he notices the harpy, "Hey, who is this little dove?"

"Um. I'm a Harpy Demon, not a dove. My name is Lilac. I'm going to be participating in Charlie's redemption project. I'm a little surprised to see you here. I heard you're a famous Porn Star," Lilac says.

"So you heard of me, or perhaps see me," Angel says, getting close to Lilac's personal space.

Lilac blushes and says, "Sorry, but I don't really pay attention to stuff like that. Sorry."

"It's cool, it's cool. Still, you sure are a cute little purple dove. I'm sure you'll love this place. We got a lot of fuckin demons here, and maybe we can hang out sometime," Angel says.

For some reason, Crystal feels a bit heated about it, even though she knows that's his kind of line of work.

Suddenly, Vaggie angrily says, "Knock it off you, Slutty Spider!"

"What? I was only kidding. Can you take a joke?" Angel remarks.

Then the two glare at each other.

Charlie quickly says, "Moving right along."

Then hugs Vaggie, "This is Vaggie. She's the manager and my girlfriend of this hotel. You'll be seeing her a lot here too."

"Hey," Vaggie says.

"Hello," Lilac says.

"Speaking of being seen a lot, where's Alastor anyway?" Crystal replies.

"I'm sure he's around here somewhere," Charlie says.

"Um, Alastor… by um, any chance is he the…" Lilac asks, sounding nervous.

Crystal sighs, "If you mean him being the Radio Demon, then yes. Don't worry, Charlie made sure that Alastor won't give any of us problems. He agreed to help as long as he doesn't do anything voodoo magic or have strings attached. Course, I told Charlie that if he does begin to cause problems, we're kicking him out."

"Um okay. But um, are you sure he hasn't given you any problem?" Lilac asks, nervously.

"He hasn't and we'll be making sure that he doesn't hurt you or any one for that matter," Vaggie says.

Suddenly, a radio voice says, "Good morning everyone."

Everyone yelps in surprise and turn to see Alastor standing behind Charlie and Vaggie.

"My aren't you all a little energetic this morning," Alastor says.

"It's because you appeared out of fuckin' no where," Angel angrily says.

"And didn't Charlie tell you to stop sneaking behind demons and scaring them to death? And us for that matter," Vaggie angrily questions.

"Slip my mind," Alastor answers.

"Yeah right," Crystal mutters.

Alastor walks to the harpy demon, "But it seems that we have a brand new demon joining us in this hotel. I'm Alastor, perhaps you have heard of me."

"Who hasn't," Vaggie mutters.

Lilac is so nervous and scared to see the Radio Demon that her wings and legs begin to shake.

She says frightened, "U I-I-I-I-I'm-m-m-m-m L-L-L-ilac… I-It's a pleasure to m-m-meet you."

"A pleasure to meet you my dear. Now give them a smile my dear," Alastor says. Then places his fingers on the side of Lilac's lips and makes them stretch into a smile.

Then says, "You're never fully dressed without one."

"Alastor, cut that out. You're starting to scare her," Crystal firmly says.

"Do not worry, I'm just giving our fine feathered friend a warm welcome," Alastor says.

"Anyway, I'm glad you decided to join us. I hope you'll enjoy your stay," Charlie happily says.

"Thank you," Lilac says.

Crystal says, "Come on, let's get your things to your room."

A few minutes later, Crystal, Charlie, Vaggie, are helping Lilac settle into her new room. She doesn't have too much, but it's well enough for her.

"So Lilac, what do you like to do?" Crystal asks.

"Oh um, I like to sing and dance, and draw pictures, and I like going outside to fly my favorite kite," Lilac says.

"Sounds nice," Vaggie says.

"What do you like to draw?" Charlie asks.

"Mostly birds. When I was at school, I was the president of a bird watching club and we got to see all kinds of birds," Lilac says.

"You must really like birds," Crystal says.

"I really love birds. They come in different colors and the sound they make sometimes sounds like they're singing," Lilac says.

"That is amazing. Maybe the Hotel can do a bird watching club," Charlie says.

Vaggie turns to Charlie, "Um Charlie, I don't know if there are that many birds here in Hell.

"Well that is true, but there are actually some animals in Hell, like Fat Nuggets for instance. He's a pig and is Angel Dust's pet," Charlie says.

"That's true," Vaggie says.

"I'm sure we'll come up with other activities for the hotel. By the way, what do you feel like doing today? Crystal replies.

Charlie taps her finger on her forehead thinking of an activity to do, "Hmm."

Then has an idea, "I think I know. I'll explain once we're done helping Lilac settle in."

After helping Lilac organize her things in her room, everyone gathers in the dining room. On one of the tables are pencils, papers, markers, crayons, and other kinds of art supplies.

"So what exactly are we doing?" Husk asks and drinks his Booze.

"Easy. Today we're going to do an art project, it can be a picture, craft, anything you like," Charlie says.

"And it's not going to be anything inappropriate Angel," Vaggie says, and turns to Angel with a glare.

"Hey, don't glare at me like that," Angel says, annoyed.

"Alright guys, calm down," Charlie says.

"Anyway, we're all going to have a lot of fun and once we're done, you can show us all what you did," Charlie says.

Husk says, "No thank you."

Niffty happily says, "I wanna draw! I wanna draw!"

"Sounds like fun to me," Crystal says.

Lilac nods her head in reply. Angel simply shrugs his shoulders and decides to participate in the activities Even if it is kind of boring to him. Sometime later, Crystal, Niffty, Lilac, Angel, Vaggie, and Charlie partake in the activity. Alastor simply wants to watch while Husk simply falls asleep at the bar. Angel who is sitting at the chair as he draws his picture, turns his head to see Lilac and Crystal are working on folding different color papers and using the markers and color pencils to color them. Angel simply smiles and continues to draw his picture.

Sometime later, the group finished their work project. Charlie obviously made a brand new poster for the Happy Hotel, even though Alastor renamed it to the Hazbin Hotel.

Charlie asks with a smile, "What do you think?"

"It looks cute," Lilac says.

"You sure have good use for colors," Crystal says.

Angel sticks his tongue, "It's too bright and sweet that I'm getting a cavity just by looking at it."

"Shut up!" Vaggie angrily marches to Angel.

"Come on Angel, I think it's cute."

"Too cute. Then again, Fat Nuggets is cuter than the poster," Angel says and shows his drawing of Fat Nuggets.

Surprisingly, the drawing is really good and resembles Fat Nuggets who are sitting on his bottom.

"Aww! It's Nuggys," Charlie happily squeals.

"So cute," Lilac says.

"Yeah. He looks adorable," Crystal says.

"Yeah. He's my little cutie pie," Angel says.

Crystal then says, "I made Fat Nuggets too."

Crystal then shows Angel a little pig that is made of folded paper and the color pencils match his colors.

"That's actually good. What is it, exactly? I know it's Fat Nuggets, but what were you two doing," Angel replies.

"We made some Origami animals," Lilac says.

"We made some birds, butterflies, and other animals," Crystal says.

Then shows the cat origami face. It actually looks a lot like Husk.

Vaggie chuckles, "Hey, that's actually kind of good. It looks like Husk."

"Glad you like it," Crystal says.

Then holds a red deer, "I also made a red deer."

"Is the deer supposed to be Smiles?" Angel asks with a smirk.

"Very funny," Crystal says with a grin.

Alastor simply laughs, "Don't see silly Angel, that deer is a swell folded piece of paper, but it looks nothing like me."

"I think it looks cute," Niffty says.

"Thanks Niffty," Crystal says.

Angel yawns and says, "And now I'm bored. How about we have some real fun."

"What kind of fun?" Lilac asks.

"Does this have anything to do with seeing Cherri Bomb and see she's fighting with the overgrown handbag and his hard boiled eggs?" Crystal asks with a firm expression.

"You read my mind," Angel says.

"No no no. You are not getting involved in another Turf War," Angel angrily says.

Lilac nervously says, "I have to agree. I actually ran into him and his Egg Bois once."

"You did?" Charlie asks.

"Yeah. I wandered into his territory one day and he captured me before I could get away. He coiled me with his tail so hard, I was afraid he was going to choke me and swallow me whole… or something even worse," Lilac says, completely scared.

"How awful," Crystal says.

Angel says, "Yeah that sounds like something he does, but you should have seen when Crystal and Cherri got caught by him. She turned him and his minions into a Spider's Egg Sack."

"True, but Crystal could have gotten badly hurt, and I didn't want any violence or killing from any of my patients," Charlie says, concerned.

"At least I didn't kill him. I also didn't kill those demons who were able to capture me not long ago. Of course, Angel did shoot the gang's leader before he could shoot me. I guess that's what I get for missing the clear shot on purpose," Crystal says.

"Wow. It sounds like you did stuff like this on a daily basis," Lilac asks.

Crystal nods her head, "Yeah. My family including myself were assassins. We assistant leads of corrupted people and then expose their wrong doings. We made sure the clients who hired us had the best interest to help those who were victims of injustice," Crystal says.

"Sounds like you had to do this stuff all the time. I remember I used to be a performer with my pet birds. Of course, my boss also uses my performances and concerts to smuggle illegal drugs. I didn't really like it, but my boss insisted that we needed the extra money," Lilac says.

Charlie giggles, "Sounds like this Art activity has turned into a Conversation activity."

"I suppose. While we're on that subject, I actually came from a family like that, well a Crime Family," Angel says.

"A Crime family? Are they here? In Hell I mean," Lilac asks.

"Not all of us. There's my pops, my older brother… and my twin sister," Angel says.

Crystal says, surprised, "I didn't know you have a sister."

"I do. She is actually very sweet. I can introduce you to her sometime," Angel says.

"I like to meet your family," Crystal says.

"My sister, yes. My brother, well… maybe. As for my pops, well… he and I are not in good terms per say," Angel says.

"I see, but I really like to meet your sister," Crystal says.

"Sounds cool. I think you're gonna like her and I'm sure she'll like you," Angel says.

Lilac turns to Crystal and asks, "What about you Crystal? Don't you have any family here?"

"Don't know yet. I got here a few weeks ago and a lot of my time I spent is here. I can guess that my grandparents and other relatives who committed bad deeds might be here. But I know that my dad and older brother aren't going to be here right now," Crystal says.

"I'm sure you'll see them again," Lilac says.

Crystal smiles, "Thanks Lilac. You know, Angel showed me a great place to eat, maybe we can go there sometime."

"Sounds good to me. And I can show you cool places for some excitement. And it won't be involving Turf Wars," Angel says.

"Thanks," Lilac says.

Soon the group begins to laugh with smiles on their faces.
