Hello my peeps!

So, first off got to say, i'm a bit shocked at how many people like this story. Okay i'll be honest, i plan to make this chapter longer and more then just an interlude, but after ending this little speech near the end, i felt like it was a good stopping point. Plus, as you may or may not known, my work place is out of control.

We barely have anyone to work there, the machines are always fucking up every hour and just about everything else inbetween is trying to fuck me over without pause. The only good thing about being nearly worked to death, is i have earned lots of money that is going towards getting my ride in tip, top shape.

Just one example of how well i'm using my extra money and with everything going up in prices, the timing couldn't be better. So as always i don't own Fate-series or DC.

So please read, review and "What the fuc-BOOM"

Interlude: A Reason To Fight

Xero's POV:

Whoever said "Criminals are easy to understand" is both wrong and right at the same time. Some are pretty cut and clean to figure out, while others have ypu spinning you're wheels trying to understand why they do, what they do. Like doing something beyond illogical, just cause they can and have no meaning behind it, other then they can just do it. What is the reason for that?

Well let me ask you this:

What drives a person?

Is it Purpose?

Reason for living?

A sense of duty?

A need to fulfil their own desires by any means necessary?

Welp, if you guessed any of these, you're wrong. As these are all goals in mind, something to keep in mind while the person chases them. No, what really drives a person is motivation. Now, it may sound similar to the reasons above but again, those are goals and reasons to do things. Not the thing that makes a person drove themselves to gain these things.

You have a goal in mind? Yeah, i know most people would call that "motivation" but it's not.

No, goals are things you reach and strive to gain. Motivation is the will to gain that object. That's what it all boils down too, the will to do whatever it takes to gain what it is you want. It is motivation that has caused some of both, the greatest events in history and most horrible and terrible deeds and events to ever happen to the world as we known it.

For example, king Arthur pulled the sword from the stone in order to protect his home. It wasn't his blood, strength or ideals that allowed him to pull it when others could not. It was his will, his motivation to protect his home from all threats, that allowed him to do, what many could not. His GOAL was to protect England, not the motivation itself.

It was motivation or rather, will to protect his home.

Now that we've established that fact, moving onto criminals and their reasons for being what they are. Many would assume criminal do what they do, cause they can and that's that. Black and white, you break the law you're bad.

End of story.

But this is wrong on a couple of levels. As some do it, simple because they can and like to make others miserable but many others do not. There is some truth behind the idea, that a crappy childhood CAN make a person into a criminal. Yes, it's no excuse for what they've done but the idea DOES have some merit to it. Kinda like pushing someone onto the path of criminally but the person still has a chance to get off to stray off that path.

That's one factor that creates a criminal, another factor is a big one and one that is very common among criminals:

Money.

Yes, the small green dollar bills that have dead guys on them, makes everybody wants more and more of it.

Shocking i know, but stay with me. Most criminals are motivated by these little slips of green paper, that have dead guys on them. I'm not shitting you, it's true and it is quite shocking. Though for the most part, money is nothing more then a means to an end. To be a successful career criminal, one has to have the means to employ thugs, equipment such as weapons, vehicles, the means to bribe people when needed and blackmail martial to keep others in line, when bribery and intimidated doesn't work.

But to do that, one needs money.

Lots and lots of money.

Lets face it, no matter how noble a goal may seem and or is, people have to get their hands dirty if they want to accomplish that goal. Money is often a means to see that goal fulfilled. Now this is probably an odd turn to this discussion but let me get it out here and address the elephant in the room:

This world's heroes...they aren't doing enough.

To be honest, me and my Servants HAVE found a way home, a way back to our world. We've been in this world for nearly two months now and it was during within the first week, did we find the way back home. It's kinda like how we rayshift from different timelines, from going to that point in history and returning to the present. Only this time, it's on a much larger scale.

You know, it's more difficult to rayshift an entire building and people within, rather then just a group of people.

Anyway, i won't go into detail but the bottom line is if we want to return to our world, we have to complete the task we we're unwillingly given to us by the Grail. Da Vinic confirmed it, that the Holy Grail brought us to this world and it won't let us leave until we complete the task it has given us. Chaldea is an organization created to protect humanity and it's future, that is the soul purpose of this organization.

This world, i got to be honest, it's like looking at a comic book in real life.

Superheroes and supervillains wearing tights and costumes, screaming at the top of their lungs going on and on, about how powerful they are and we can't stop them, all that shit. Gods above, it's like we landed inside one of those old moral written comic books, only this world has real life consequences and innocent people die by the THOSUNDS, all because the "Heroes" don't have the will to do what is necessary.

I'll spare you the usually moral bullshit and say the facts as they are:

To rise above monsters, to FIGHT them, we have to abandon our humanity.

That's simply fact and no matter how you try to phrase it, there's no way around it. What we fight, we become.

Sooner or later, we have to become the monsters we fight in order to defeat them.

Fight fire with fire.

You want to save someone? Sometimes, the only way is to soak you're hands in the blood of you're enemies. The heroes of this world would probably go on and on about how "killing makes you no better" or "we don't have the right to decide who lives and who dies."

I'm not joking, i've seen the footage of this "Justice League" saying these things and on some level, i agree. Killing you're enemies is indeed a means to an end but why kill them. when you can make their strength your strength.

Their knowledge can merge with yours to reach new heights that you could not on you're own. To make their power your own!

It does pay off to show mercy to you're enemies, as today's enemies can be friends tomorrow. But that works both ways, as today's friends, can be your bitter enemies tomorrow. Contrary to popular belief, i DO believe showing mercy takes strength, it is very easy to hate and let that hate dictate your actions and just kill everyone you hate. It's so easy to simple swing the blade or pull the trigger.

Yes, some people would break down crying or even getting sick the first time they take a life, even if they were blinded by rage. Rage can often be like adrenaline shot but it's going to wear off eventually. Once it does, that's when shit hits the fan and you come to the crossroad in life:

Are you a killer or not?

It doesn't say how bad of a bad person of you are or if you're a monster, none of that bullshit. It's either you can't sleep at night or you can.

You can live with it or not.

That is just fact. The heroes would probably say killing is wrong and people who do kill are criminals, but what about soldiers? They kill to protect their country, so are they criminals? What about police officers, who use lethal force to protect themselves, are THEY criminals?

The answer is no.

You can't be a hero and uses these dumb, stupid, childish rules. Yes, killing should be avoided as much as possible but you can't just keep locking up monsters and expect them to be reformed. If you KNOW they're going to go out and kill again, for FUN no less, then you have a moral obligation to stop them and if need be, KILL them before they hurt anyone else.

Many would claim it's unfair for me to decide on who lives and who dies, well let me cut the bull and say it like it is:

You can't save everyone. Sacrifices have to be made and one person's life, does not amount to thousands more. Life, no the world itself, both this one and mine own are cruel and unforgiving. If i have to kill ten people to save hundreds more, then so be it. It's a dark and dirty job, but someone has to do it. I would do my best to avoid killing those who don't deserve death but sadly there is such a thing as "Being at the wrong place, at the wrong time."

It's a fact i have learned during my career that life doesn't care who lives and who dies.

If it did, then people like Joker, Lex Luthor, Scarecrow and even Victor Zsasz would be deader then a doornail.

Maybe i'm just bitter or maybe i'm just sick of people like that being alive, while good people get killed. I won't lie, iv'e watched friends, loved ones and comrades die left and right while i couldn't do anything but watch it unfold, powerless to stop it. Why is it, that good people who only want to do what they believe is right and help people for no better reason then simply wanting to do good, get killed in the most brutal and twisted ways, while sick fucks like those people kept living like kings.

Where is the justice in that?

Why doesn't life, nay, NATURE do it's "Natural selection" in killing off these monsters, these demons in human skin and make the world a better place? Why do good people suffer time and time again, while the bad guys get away with whatever they want?

I'm fucking sick of this shit.

I can't stand by, while good people suffer, not if there is something i can do about it. Maybe i have been hanging around the Rulers, Knights and Heroes too much. Maybe i have a hero complex, maybe i'm just a selfish bastard that does what he wants and damns the consequences. Maybe i'm just some psycho with an Insatiable Bloodlust and i'm just killing villains as an excuse to quench my thirst for blood.

But the one thing i do know, is that I. AM. SICK of watching good people die, while monsters, VILLIANS like the Joker and Zsasz get to live. Everyone has a breaking point and i've long reached mine.

I known i am a monster, my hands are dripping with blood but i keep going. I have too, cause if not me, then who? Who would take a stand against evil, if not me?

It isn't fair, much like life isn't fair and it's about damn time, that someone gives them a taste of their own medicine. The villains play by these dumbass rules and now, it's time to flip the script, as i plan to use those same rules to stop them. The law is clear, you can't commit murder, but killing in self-defense? Given the reputation some of these villains have and their body count?

I'm half certain, most of those people would do everything they could to acquit me AND throw me a party or parade for killing these monsters in human skin. Hey, don't blame me, they set the rules i just play by them.

This isn't my world, these villains aren't mine but if the Holy Grail brought us here and the fact it won't let us leave tells me one thing:

It wants us here, to show this worlds heroes how it's truly done, how to truly destroy evil. Or maybe it just didn't have any choice other then to pick me, as this world desperately needs a wakeup call.

Why else would be dropped here, where criminals rampage without pause, without fear of retribution and the heroes do nothing to help, other then locking them up only for them to escape. No matter how you say it, splice it that's not justice. You can't save the world by playing by rules that make NO sense at all. As i said before, Chaldea is an organization created to protect humanity from the monsters that threaten it.

All monsters.

Even if those monsters wear human skin.

If the heroes won't do what is necessary and if this path is my only way home, then there is no other path for me to take. It's selfish of me but if there's one thing i have learned, everyone is selfish in there own way and we're all slaves to something. I do this, so i can go home to my world and it's self-defense if you aren't the one who strikes first.

But being a hero, is more then just stopping the bad guys, it's about helping and protecting the people. Like most cities, Gotham has it's section where people have lost all hope, the junkies, the homeless and many believe there is no tomorrow for them.

The first step in stopping criminals, is taking and protecting their would be victims or unwillingly pawns. It doesn't matter how many you kill, the downtrodden, beaten and hopeless people will always be targets for them. But if you take that away, help them, PROTECT them from these bastards long enough and they'll start to crumble like a house of cards.

They've gotten away with this shit for far too long, getting nothing more then a slap on the wrist and basically, being sent to "Prison" is nothing more then a hotel for these bastards. Now, i'll admit killing them might be a bit excessive and possible, it is wrong in every sense of the word.

But you known what, i don't know what's right or wrong anymore.

Not after the Lostbelt's.

Destroying entire worlds, killing millions of innocent people and for what? Just so my world can live, while there's die? I known by logic, i was in the right, as these worlds weren't suppose to exist and even IF my world could survive without one being destroyed, it wouldn't last long anyway. Da Vinci gave those worlds about fifty years before they self imploded on themselves.

Self destruct.

Whatever, the point is it wouldn't even last a century. So, logically what i did was "right" as my world has a far better chance of surviving, rather then one where's time was burrowed down to fifty years.

Logically that is but everywhere else, i just don't know anymore. What i do know however, is that people like this Metallo, Black Mask, Gorilla Gordd, Circe, Felix Faust have all written their death warrants. The last one, for having sacrificed his own son and MY Circe personally wanted to test herself against this world's Circe. Personally i don't think that's such a good idea but hey, what happens, happens.

But at the moment, we've got bigger fish to fry and i've got a job to do.

It's time we show Gotham, hope is alive and change is coming.

The Batman had his chance to prove his way works and i believe we've seen how well it has worked out. With more and more people dying in sick, twisted, inhuman ways and all the while, the bad guys only get better as time goes on.

No more.

Step aside old man, you had you're chance and your way doesn't work. You've been trying for years and all you have done, is create even more monsters. Really is there something in the water that just...MAKES people go completely insane with equally insane powers to boot or is it just some odd combination of events that turn these people bad?

Or were they like the bastards that raided Ann's village.

Ones where they believed it was alright to kill everyone, down to every last man, woman and child simply because they talked to me. Oh wait, no let me rephrase that, the people that we're "Tainted" by my "presence" and we're "better off dead then slaves of the devil."

What a fucking joke.

Anyone with half a brain could tell it was a mass slaughter, killing for the sake of killing. They didn't even steal anything, just burned EVERYTHING to the ground. Life isn't fair, a fact i learned the hard way and soon, these villains will learn the same lesson.

Hope you've all enjoyed the free ride, cause it stops.

Now.

Done.

Devil out.
