When Anne decided to show the townsfolks of Wartwood and Leo the wonders of film, two distinct factions grow between the town about their opinion on the characters.

...

Leo walked with some level of skepticism, he'd been told by Hop Pop that they'd be watching a play that night, and although he had wanted to somewhat repair his now banged up and metal shoes, the once orange tint the heels had been were now dull and faded.

"Come on you kids, let's all enjoy this theater night where we can all forget about our horrible, horrible problems.." The frog's voice grew sourer as he continued., "Now who wants popcorn!"

His tone changed just as quickly giving the four of them two packets to share, "Cheapskate.." He accidently blurted out once more, getting both Anne and Polly to snicker.

"Well, so-rry that I can't afford anything, I'm still pretty much broken you know, you're lucky I even managed to buy two!" Hop Pop immediately jumped to defending himself, berating the boy.

"I gotta keep my mouth shut," He groaned, scratching his neck lightly.

They approached the seats, most of them occupied by a member of Wartwood, Sprig, who was sat atop Leo's shoulders easily spotted the middle stump not held by anyone, "Oh! Perfect, right in the middle!"

"I'm pretty tall so that'll be a no from me," Leo retorted, watching the pink frog leap from off of his shoulders, Polly was already fast on his tale rolling towards it just as quickly.

"That seat is mine!"

Unfortunately, Sprig had already managed to make it beforehand, due to his ability to hop, "No fair! You have appendages," Polly sulked folding her arms over each other.

Before the whining could continue, Hop Pop got involved and ordered the boy to get off from the stump, "Older brothers have to look out for their younger siblings Sprig, that's just how it goes."

"How come?" Leo queried, passing Sprig the popcorn he'd been gifted, "He's not really looking after her right now, he just won the seat fair and square."

"Do you have siblings Leo?"

That caused a stir within the white-haired student, did he have any? Honestly without his memory he had no idea on whether or not he did have any, "Not sure, I can't remember anything from more than two weeks back, but still, that shouldn't matter-"

"Then stay out of it, I don't mean to be rude but this isn't your place to speak," Hop Pop shushed him down, all Leo could do was pass a sympathetic to Sprig, as if to say, 'there's not much I can do'.

The two of them retreated over to the withered stump and the elongated one Anne was posted at, "Sorry Sprig, I don't respect Hop Pop's decision but I'm not sitting on that.."

Sulking, the frog reluctantly slumped onto the stump, it decaying away as he did. Him and Leo may have gotten closer but there didn't mean there was some lines he wouldn't cross.

"It's just not fair, just because she's a little younger than me she gets special treatment!" He groaned once more throwing his hands up into the air, neither Anne or Leo could relate being only children respectively.

"I can't relate, all of my parents' attention was focused solely on me, and it felt awesome!"

"And if I do have parents, then I have literally no idea how they treated me so I'm even more useless," Leo commented, his plain voice sounding a little more apologetic than before.

Just as the play was about to begin, Mayor Toadstool approach the stage, "I'm sorry everyone, but the frogs meant to be performing today will not be able to maki it...on account of them being eaten on the way here."

Everyone groaned at the news, with Miss Croaker being the one most distraught about the whole situation, "Hold up! I might just have a solution, it's like a play but its way better, something called a movie."

Jolting up from the explanation, Leo was suddenly a lot more invested. Anne had explained to him what a film was and had outright refused to shown him one until the occasion arose, he had no idea what she meant by that, but it didn't matter he was finally watching one.

"You're looking a little too excited there Leo, it's just a movie," Anne snickered at the look of sheer awe he had over his face as he watched the film begin and the story unfold.

Leo didn't know why, but for some in explicable reason he couldn't help but be fascinated by what was displayed on the amplified phone screen, sure he knew it was stupid and barely had any sense to it, but he was still amazed by how something like that could be made.

If he had lost his memory, then he was annoyed that he might've forgotten about all of this, "So, who's your favorite?" Anne whispered to him, not wanting to disturb the engrossed expression Leo had fixed on the film.

"Eh. I could do with neither, but I guess Alistaire is alright he preaches a little too much for my taste," The makeup design on his face and antlers are so cool!" Leo grinned once more, practically starstruck.

Anne had wanted to talk with him some more, but decided against it not wanting to spoil the movie any more for him, 'I totally thought Leo would hate this kind of thing, especially this film..'

Fiddling with her fingers, Anne thought back to the time she'd gone to watch the film with Marcy and Sasha. At the time, she'd been especially excited to watch it, even more so with the two of them – only to then have to sit through it with them all mocking and laughing at it.

So, she couldn't help but feel happy at the fact that Leo was enjoying it just as much as she was.

As the film came to a close, Leo took a second to take it all in. Utterly amazed by what he'd seen and somewhat offended by the fact that Anne had never shown them to him before.

However, both Sprig and Polly had entirely different views on the situation, beginning to bicker on who the female lead would end up choosing between either Hunter and Alistaire. Leo didn't seem too fazed by it at the moment, they were just two siblings yelling at one another.

"Well, I don't even want to live in a town with people who like Alistaire!" Polly announced.

Sprig bit back just as quickly, "Well I! Don't wanna live in a town with people who like Hunter!"

Eventually, two factions had already formed between the frogs, "This is gonna get so much worse if we let it," Leo warned, already foreseeing what a town like Wartwood would do.

"Yeah, we really should sort this out," Anne responded, although neither of the two bothered to do anything.

Hop Pop attempted to calm the two of them down, but it only served to get Sprig riled up even more, "Sorry Hop Pop, but I'm sick of this Pollywog and her special treatment! We ain't backing down!" He declared back.

"This means war!"

And just like that, the split factions divided off into different parts of the town, leaving Anne, Leo and Hop Pop to watch.

"You know, judging by what I've seen from this town. This'll be fun," Leo spoke with the utmost dry sarcasm that Anne had ever heard, it was lucky she'd gotten used to him at the point or she would've thought he was just some sadistic nut.

"Why does everything you say have to seem so morbid. Don't worry, I'm sure that by morning clearer heads will prevail"

Anne dropped her brows, miraculously not confident in what the older frog had to say, "That's a bad omen Hop Pop."

"Really bad omen," Leo added.

Exactly like the boy predicted, the situation escalated to an almost extreme degree.

"I don't believe it! The town is split, right down the middle!" Anne exclaimed grasping at her bushy hair in shock.

"You all really go a little overboard don't you, bunch of loonies," Leo once again spoke his mind, not bothered by the appalled face Hop Pop was making, "What, are they not!"

He had tried to make his voice come out loudly, but it had only ended in his own distant yell escaping him. Both Sprig and Polly seemed to be the leader of both, glaring each other down.

"This is like an internet message board, but in real life!"

Leo and Hop Pop blinked at her, as if they were supposed to understand the reference, "You know, when I heard that another human was here, I thought that someone would maybe understand all of my jokes."

Patting her on the back, Leo listened to her sigh, "Whelp, too bad."

Leo had to admit, he was somewhat intrigued to get involved with what they were doing. A war between a town, that was something he could get involved with if in his own way.

He didn't know much about himself, but if the him now was somewhat excited by the idea, the why couldn't he give it a try?

So, upon the decision of Hop Pop and Anne both trying to convince either Sprig or Polly to call of the feud, Leo ventured off into the town, sculking along the rooftops and spotting the orange frog getting mauled and marked by the hunter faction.

He might've been taken all of this too seriously, but right now he was somewhat invested in the fact that there was just a casual ensuing war in the town after only a day.

"Hey! It's Leo, what are you doing up there? You better not be conspiring against us!" Polly demanded, now having chased Hop Pop farther out of their side of town.

"Nope. I'm just an onlooker, not here to fight."

"Then answer this one question," Polly started, "Who's better, Alistaire or Hunter?"

Leo mentally cursed himself for the question, he could answer it with Hunter but his hesitation was already enough for Polly, "Get him boys!" She ordered, getting both Toadie, Felicia to unleash a storm of fruits upon her.

"Wait no!" Ducking under the barrage of produce that could've ended up knocking him out if given a clean shot, he clicked his teeth and went against trying to reason with the crazed tadpole.

Leaping towards another building and then another, slowly beginning to hear the sound of them giving up on chasing him, "This is hell!"

"You're telling me," Anne walked up to him, brushing some dirt off her face and trying to smudge out the blue paint now on her shirt, "I couldn't even reason with Sprig, not to mention he tossed me out like it was nothing."

"They wrote such horrible words and my tummy!" Hop Pop groaned much like a child would, showing off the graphited words along his stomach that read 'Hunter Rulez'.

Leo also took a minute to wipe off some excess splatter of food that had spilled over his clothes and ragged brown and black trousers, making the line the ran down either leg even more faint than before, "We've gotta do something about this."

"I know dude, if we can just get the two of them together so they can make up that it would be a lot easier..." Scrunching her face up trying to think, Anne took a scan around the town and took notice of the two obvious flagpoles on either side of them.

"Say Leo, you're a fan of hunts, right?"

It was a rhetorical question of course, but Leo didn't bother to question what her plan or logic was, only replying with a simple nod and a roll of his sleeves.

Now masked and with scythe his hand, Anne and Leo would be the ones to infiltrate in the two factions and take down each of the opposing flagpoles. Of course, Hop Pop would act as the distraction for both sides, giving them ample time to act.

But they still needed a way to bring Polly and Sprig together.

Leo was going for the Hunter flag, silently nudging his way up it. He may have been somewhat athletic, but that didn't mean he was any better than a normal person at climbing at twenty-foot poll.

He hadn't had the opportunity to pick a weapon of choice, and Anne and nicked the only farming tool available for him to cut it down, "Why do I have to climb this goddamn pole, I'm not a frog this isn't easy.."

Much to his own chagrin, Hop Pop's distraction hadn't done all that much to buy neither him nor Anne that much time, as Toadie was already beginning the ascent up to Leo, preparing to pull him down.

It was too late though, Leo ripped it off and took a leap of faith, diving out with the fairly big flag in hand, the winding picking him up and allowing him to be carried over to Anne, who was beginning to carry hers over as well.

"Alright that should-" Leo cut himself off, watching Sprig and Polly appear with each member of their respected tribes.

"-Bring them together."

But they second, they did Sprig retreated just as quickly leading to Polly heading after him with her members of Wartwood angrily charging after it.

As they did, Leo and Anne lightly fist bumped each other, somewhat confident that it would all work out.

"Wait, somethings off.." Polly said suspiciously looking up to the rooftops. When out of nowhere, all plethora of fruits and vegetables rained down on her allies knocking them all out in one fell swoop.

"AMBUSH!" Sprig chanted.

He couldn't be happier to finally put his sister's special treatment to an end, it'd been going on for too long and right now he'd snuff it out and finally win.

But for some reason, when he watched Polly get caught in corner now trapped between all of the Alistaire followers, he didn't want to see her get pelted with all of those vegetables, he might've been upset but she was still his little sister.

'Hop Pop's right, I've gotta look out for her!'

And as the artillery still continued to fire, Sprig jumped in front of it all protecting Polly against the constant barrage of crops, with the fire coming from each and every direction until it eventually came to a stop.

"Why Sprig, why!" Polly cried out dramatically.

"Because I'm your big brother, and it's my job to look after you," He explained wiping a tear out of her eyes, again to an incredibly dramatic extent, "We surrender."

"NOOOOOOOOO!" The pollywog shrieked throwing her spindly limbs up into the air.

Not even ten seconds passed before Sprig, revived from up off the ground, wiping away the mud and paint he had spread across his face, "That's it everyone! Time to wrap it up!"

"Yeah, this is all pretty played out," Polly admitted.

Leo watched the altercation end almost as quickly as it had begun, staring wide-eyed at how quickly they'd resolved the war, with everyone returning to their homes as if nothing had even happened, "What. You're all done, just like that?" Anne blurted out, just as confused as he was.

"Oh Anne, that's just how we are," Hop Pop gave a fairly half-assed explanation waving it off like it was nothing.

"I'd like to reiterate. Bunch of loonies..." said Leo dryly, boring holes into the frogs back.

Soon enough, they repaired the town and were prepared for the next move night, in which Anne had especially made sure there was absolutely nothing controversial in it whatsoever, although Leo had remarked it wouldn't matter and they'd probably still find something to complain about.

"Here you go Sprig, I saved you a seat!" Polly spoke.

"And I brought you some sweets.." Sprig admitted handing it to her.

"Thanks Sprig...you're a good big brother."

Wandering over to them both, Anne and Leo sat a little closer to the stage this time to get a better look at the film, "You excited for this one as well?" She joked handing him some of her popcorn.

"I guess," He murmured dully, taking a fistful of popcorn into his mouth, "Let's just hope it doesn't start another war."

"You say that, but you'll enjoy somewhat," Anne remarked nudging him slightly, trying her best and failing to tease him, "Geez, you're no fun."

"Shhh, it's starting," Leo shoved his hand in front of her face, not even bothering to face her now. Anne wasn't to bothered however, digging her hand into the popcorn he now held, the two of them both indulging in the movie together.

...

Much more of a shorter chapter which is why it's out so quickly, just wanted to have a little fun with this one so I hope you enjoyed. Next chapter is either going to be Hop-Popular or Snow Day. Honestly, I'm not sure which one to go for, so I'll just have to decide before I write.
