Ga Rei Hime
Fifteen
Bright eyed and full of energy, Sara Gallager knocked on the door, the boyish blonde pausing as she waited for an answer.
"Do you know what time it is?" Midori demanded as she answered the door, the taller woman scowling at her.
Sara looked sheepish, "It's ten AM."
Midori scowled at her, "I WAS SLEEPING."
"Ooops," Sara sighed. "Is Natsuki around?"
Midori looked amused, "Last I checked, she was also sleeping."
From inside the house a voice called, "I'm up."
Midori rolled her eyes but stepped aside, "Come on in."
As Sara walked by, Midori took in the mini skirt and skimpy top she was wearing. 'Is she on a mission to get laid?' she thought, amused.
Natsuki was in a battered t-shirt and shorts, a robe thrown over that as she made some coffee. "Sara," she yawned, "morning."
"Sorry," Sara said apologetically, "I didn't realize the time."
"Or you were just eager to see Natsuki," Midori murmured as she got herself a cup.
Natsuki thankfully didn't hear that. Sara did, and blushed furiously.
"Heh," Midori added cream and sugar.
"You know I'm investigating Mr Smith, the treasurer, and his disappearance?" Sara asked.
"Yeah," Natsuki nodded.
Sara gestured to her outfit, "I was interviewing a working girl who had been out of town, and found a lead. Maybe."
"Maybe?" Natsuki echoed as she drank black coffee.
"Turns out he was frequenting a certain lady's rented home," Sara said, "and she was his only regular lady friend."
"So why come here? Why not grab some backup and go see her?" Midori wondered.
"Because there's also rumours that she's supernatural, or a entity of some kind," Sara said. "So I figured I'd ask you along," she smiled at Natsuki.
"And you didn't think to call the Agency girls?" Natsuki asked mildly.
"I don't know them," Sara shrugged, "I know you."
Natsuki puffed out a breath, "Let me get dressed."
Once Natsuki left Midori quietly noted, "So, is that outfit going undercover, or to try and get Natsuki's attention?"
Sara blushed as she muttered, "A bit of both?"
"Well, good luck," Midori said as she finished her coffee, "I don't think she's interested in dating, what with her condition and all."
"Well, maybe I can change her mind?" Sara said firmly.
Natsuki returned in her usual monster/entity fighting leather pants and matching jacket, twin pistols in underarm holsters. Even Midori had to admit that she looked yummy in that... and poor Sara was nearly drooling.
"Okay, we're reconning this place first," Natsuki briskly said, "if it's bad and crazy, we go get reinforcements."
"Right," Sara agreed.
"You want me to call for official backup?" Midori pointed out, her also being a fellow cop.
"Ah..," Sara started.
"Yes," Natsuki said firmly, "I want someone knowing where we're going, just in case."
"Just the cops," Sara added, "let's keep the Agency out of this."
"Because...?" Midori asked.
"They'll take the investigation out of our hands and leave us standing around, useless," Sara pointed out.
"She's got a point," Midori conceded.
"Okay, call Elliot for us," Natsuki walked to the door, "Sara, let's go."
"Can we take your bike?" Sara asked as they walked out.
"In THAT outfit?" Midori muttered. She picked up her phone and dialed the chief's private number. "Boss? Your favourite Niece is getting in shit again..."

Nao Yuuki woke up, laying beside a slim young man. "Hmm," she sat up, realizing she was in a stranger's suite.
"Uh, morning," the guy blinked.
"No cuddling," Nao said as he half reached for her, "I'm not a cuddler." She got up, stretching then looked around, "Where the hell are my clothes?"
"Your bra is over on the lamp," the man noted, amused, "the rest is out in the living room somewhere." He gentlemanly didn't point out she had skipped panties.
"Thanks," Nao got dressed efficiently, noting the horndog watching as she wiggled into her micro-miniskirt.
"Uhm, can I get your number?" he asked as he rooted around for his boxers.
"If I see you at the bar, we can do this again," Nao countered as she strode out.
The apartment was on the 'main drag' of Fuka, though the sleepy university town didn't have that much going on. Still, there were lots of coffee places, and she soon was standing in line waiting for a fill up.
"Morning!" the extremely perky blonde beamed.
Nao scowled at her, "Large coffee, two sugar."
"Would you like out Morning Blend (TM), Sunrise Mix (TM) or Daily Special (TM)?" the woman happily chirped.
"LARGE COFFEE," Nao said very flatly, "TWO SUGAR."
The woman frowned but swiftly made the coffee, then took the slightly wrinkled bill from Nao's sock. "Thank you," she said a little dubiously.
Sipping her coffee, Nao headed back to where the Hunters were based. She went inside, and saw Shizuru sitting at the table.
"Have a nice night?" Shizuru drawled.
"Yes, actually," Nao said briskly. "Did Mai make it back from her liason with Mikoto?" she asked blandly.
"Earlier than you, yes," Shizuru said dryly.
"I'll get changed, then I assume we have work?" Nao asked as she walked by her.
"Probably," Shizuru agreed.

Shizuru would never admit it, but she envied Mai and Nao a little. Not that she'd ever admit that, of course. But part of her really wished she was the type to just go out and casually pick someone up for sexual relief. Sadly, she just wasn't wired that way.
"Morning," Mai yawned as the t-shirt and panty clad woman got herself some coffee.
"Nao made it home," Shizuru noted.
"We should make her take her phone with her, at least," Mai yawned again. "One of these days something is gonna jump her."
"But what a way to go," Nao noted as she left her bedroom, dressed in jeans and a skin tight t-shirt saying 'Your Son calls me Mommy too.'
"Do you HAVE to wear that?" Mai groaned. "Ick."
"Yes, actually," Nao stuck her tongue out.
"Break it up, please," Shizuru sighed, just as her phone rang.
"Bet you it's trouble," Nao noted to Mai.
"Yeah, not taking that bet," Mai shook her head. "I'd better get dressed..."
"Chief Chandler, how can we help?" Shizuru said briskly. She listened, "Yes. I see." A bit more, "Can I just say, that was a VERY bad idea?"
"Aw fuck," Nao muttered.
Keeping her temper Shizuru finished, "We'll get out there was quickly as we can." She REALLY wished she could slam the phone down...
"What's going on?" Nao asked.
Shizuru was dialing their driver as she said, "Several cops have gone to arrest someone who might be a Entity."
Nao blinked, "They know guns and crap don't work on them, right? What are they thinking?"
"Mikoto? We need a pick up, ASAP," Shizuru ordered, "thank you." She hung up, "Well, the argument was that we tend to force them out of the case when we get involved."
"Well," Nao conceded, "we DO do that."
"Because it's necessary," Shizuru said. "Mai! We've got to go!" she called.
"Out in a minute," Mai answered.
'I hope we have the time,' Shizuru sighed.
To be continued...
