A/N: Okay so for those of you who have viewed the previous first chapter of this story, forget that chapter entirely. This story is getting revamped. When I included Percy Jackson in the proto first chapter he was meant to be in the background. What I found out was you can't do that to the cannon main character. So I have decided to set this story before PJO. This gives me more freedom to build my vision of the PJO universe in a more free and friendly manner.

Chapter 1:

Henry did not like camp half blood. It was the worst place on earth filled with heathens and savages, at least that's what his grandmother would say. Henry had never thought that with his grandmother's final note to him, she would be sending him to a camp for demi-gods.

If Henry had ever thought that his grandmother was human at all, that all vanished upon entering camp. They said that one of Henry's parents was a god, it didn't sound very godly to leave a baby at the steps of a church.

That was another thing, apparently as his grandmother had told him he had been left at the footsteps of a church and she was the one graciously offered to pick him up. Henry thought back to all this as he finally managed to snag the last bit of toothpaste out of the toothpaste bottle.

Being in the Hermes cabin, especially as a guest, sucked. He managed to quickly rub whatever toothpaste was left on his brush onto his teeth and then run to take a shower. Boy did these Hermes boys know how to party, the bathroom was always messy, something Henry's grandmother instilled in him to hate. Since there were so many people in the Hermes cabin Henry preferred to get up early, it was something that his grandmother had instilled in him and he decided that it would bring him fortune if he kept that tradition going. After taking a quick shower Henry looked at himself in the mirror. He wasn't built sturdy and big like the Ares cabin or lean and fit like the Hermes cabin. He wasn't handsome enough to be in the Aphrodite cabin and he wasn't as vocally talented as the Apollo cabin. Henry was plain, he had his grandmother's dark brown hair and his fathers pale skin. The only thing that stood out about him were his eyes. They were golden, like actually golden. Sometimes so golden that they seemed to shine. Other times they seemed like a pale yellow, like a light that was flickering out. Henry's grandmother says that he gets it from her father, his great grandfather whatever that means. It was really odd how he had gotten all of these things from his fathers family but nothing from his mothers.

"Role call!" Someone screamed, that was Henry's cue to run.

Henry sprinted straight out of the bathroom and almost made it to the door until he felt a slender hand reach his collar bone.

"Martin, you're not trying to get out roll call are you?" Said Rodger, the head of the Hermes cabin. He was actually quite handsome, he just didn't like to show it. He had long blonde hair covering his face and back, so no one could actually see his face. He was quite tall, with his six foot three cowering over Henry's five foot five. He was wearing a tank top and black jean shorts, he was a weird guy.

"No, I was just trying to…get this thing?" Henry said or asked, not exactly sure of his response.

"Really? What is this 'thing' you're talking about?"

"Um, a cactus!"

Henry thought that the eighteen year old was actually going to do something this time but he didn't. He stood still and then he did something that Henry had never seen or expected, he laughed.

"Henry, I've been with you since first day at camp and your excuses just never get better, come on we gotta go to roll call"

"Can't you, just like, get me out of it?" Henry stupidly asked.

Roder did something with his face that looked contorting in anger, but with all the hair covering his face, Henry could not see.

"If I hear any more excuses…"

Without a moment's notice or a sound, Henry ran towards the main hall in the Hermes Cabin.

"Alright, who's missing?" Christina, Rodger's twin, was doing roll call.

"Rodger and Henry," Said one of the Hermes cabin members.

Christina's face shifted into something akin to exhaustion, she actually looked quite nice, until she saw Henry and Rodger that is.

"Rodger, Henry, come here right now!" Christina yelled.

Henry could already see what was going to happen next, a flash of the future, of the many possible futures appeared in his vision.

"Um, Rodger we gotta go, like, right now!" Henry's pained voice was urgent.

Rodger seemed to believe Henry this time as he picked Henry up and threw him over his shoulder.

"See ya' sis'!" Rodger screamed while slamming into every single one of the Hermes cabin members on his way out. Rodger was an anomaly like that. He wasn't skinny and quick like his siblings, he was strong and bulky. He wasn't good at stealing like them either, the only thing he had going for him was his size, which in Camp Half Blood didn't really mean anything. Still everybody at camp respected him, because at the end of the day he took care of everyone, regardless of claiming status.

As Rodger threw Henry off his back, Henry made a loud, "Argh!" sound as he gathered himself to stand up again.

"Why are you always doing that?" Henry asked in annoyance, "You're too quick for your size."

Rodger seemed pleased by that as he attempted to grab Henry once again.

Henry already knew what was going to happen or rather what could happen, so he kept out of Rodgers' tackle.

"How do you keep doing that!" Rodger complained, "It's like you always know what's going to happen" Rodger asked suspiciously.

"No that's not it, you're just too easy to predict" Henry said as he tried to sway the conversation into a different direction.

"If that was true, you would've beaten me in combat by now" Rodger said.

"Just cause I can predict you doesn't mean I can actually use those predictions to beat you in a fight" Henry said, "I'm not as strong as other demi-gods".

"You know that's not true, I bet once your parent claims yo-"

"That probably won't happen, besides I'm happy at the Hermes cabin"

"Okay" Rodger said, "If that's what you think".

"No, it's what I want," Henry said.

"Okay, well, it's time for combat class" Rodger said, "Lets go".

Henry could already see all of the outcomes of the class, he would lose to Rodger and everyone else again. Maybe not in the same manner every time, but he would lose none the less Henry had always been able to see, more than anyone else he knew. He knew every single possible outcome, even the worst of things, even the best of things. The only problem was he didn't know which outcome was the right one, the one that would take place in reality. Time is very fluid, it's ever changing, that's why Henry prefers to stay the same.

"Okay, time to lose again" Henry said as he smiled, as he would every single time.

Henry lost, just as he had seen that he would. The next thing he had was a workshop, as an unclaimed camper Henry had to do a diverse range of courses just in case that his demi-god abilities showed themselves. Workshop class was a nightmare because so much could go wrong and he could see everything that could go wrong. After avoiding everything that could and would kill him in workshop class Henry had history. This of course wasn't like any other history class because we learned about our parents, our divine, godly, parents. That class was a bore because at the end of the day we were never going to meet any of the gods and the few that do have had to have some kind of mythical, deadly experience. Those were both things that Henry was not going to take part in.

After history took one more look at his schedule, it read like this:

Roll Call- 8:30 to 9:00

Combat Class- 9:05 to 10:05

Workshop Class- 10:10 to 11:10

History(with the gods)- 11:15 to 12:15

Lunch- 12:20 to 1:20

C.T.F.- 1:25 to 5:00

Henry had lunch now. He normally sat alone but on rare occasions he sat with Mr. D, the head of the camp. He was actually Dionysus, the god of wine. He wasn't as bad as many people say he is. Now don't get Henry wrong, he was grump, a grump too old for this world, but when he was talking to you one on one he didn't seem as bad as he likes to seem.

Henry and Mr. D sat down on the bench in front of Mr. D's humble abode, which was really just a cabin bigger than every single cabin the campers stayed in.

Suddenly Mr. D asked, "how are you adjusting here Henry?" seeming a little drunk, which wasn't possible because he was banned from drinking.

Henry chuckled a little at that question, "it's been two years since I first walked into camp Mr. D, I'm sure that if I had any problems I would have dealt with them already" Henry said.

Mr. D seemed a little odd to Henry, he seemed a little more…human?

Mr. D looked up at the sky with an exasperated look. His face looked pained, like he was tired of the world and what it had offered him.

"The gods are cruel Henry, never forget that. The world is not something that takes kindly to anomalies. I should know." Suddenly Mr. D was leaning too close to Henry, "Never forget that no matter how much the world throws at you that there is light at the end of the title, never give up what is rightfully yours".

"Okay…" was all Henry had to say in response to that.

Mr. D seemed to be done being serious as his face shifted back to his usually half asleep look.

"How are my sons doing?" He asked

"They're doing fine, they might be up to too much trouble but they're fine" Henry replied.

After a long moment of silence Henry said, "you know you could ask them yourself right?"

"That would not be befitting of a god, we are not allowed to interfere with our children, remember?"

"Yeah, yeah I got that"

Henry started to eat as him and Mr. D started to drink and eat in comfortable silence. Mr. D with his diet coke, Henry with his sandwich and grape juice.

After lunch Henry had captured the flag, he did not like to Capture the Flag. He could already see all of the outcomes, every single one. Sometimes he wished he could turn it off, he wished didn't have to see the possible deaths that come with playing capture the flag. They were sorted into groups: Hermes, Hephaestus, and Athena in one group while Ares, Aphrodite, and Apollo were in another. The Ares cabin was the leader of one group while the Athena cabin was the leader of the other.

Rodger walked up to Henry and said, "Paulina said your on watch duty"

Henry smiled at that, he liked watch duty the best out of all the roles in Capture the Flag, and it was pretty ironic considering he could see all of the possible outcomes of the future. He was stationed at Half Blood Hill, the makeshift entrance to Camp Half Blood. Henry could see what was happening from a mile away, like a television in his mind.

After two hours of waiting at Half Blood Hill, he heard a lightning strike. Then he heard a strike again, and again, and again. Normally this would mean you would have to head inside of your home and enjoy the sweet comforts of the internet but at Camp Half Blood when lightning strikes it means one thing, the gods are angry.

Henry could hear the lightning crashing and crashing, the sound at the same spot every time. The gods must be trying to kill someone Henry thought. For a second, just for a second, Henry saw a girl, the girl. She was running from monsters not lightning and the lightning was aiding her, almost like she was controlling it. Henry went up half blood hill to investigate.

There was a trio, the aforementioned girl, a boy about the same age as the girl, looking to be about twelve years old, and a young child. The child looked to be about five or six.

Henry rushed to the scene making it to the top of Half Blood Hill. From there he could see the trio more clearly. He looked through the futures of the trio, any possible future just to see what might happen to them. What shocked Henry was not that he couldn't see their future, because he could in fact see their future. The only problem was he could only see one future, and Henry was not about to let that future happen.

Like a fool, Henry dropped everything and ran down Half Blood Hill without a weapon in hand, nothing but his fists to fight his way through.

Henry made it down and once he was down the amount of fear he had was considerably more than anything he had ever felt in his life. Henry saw the trio fighting, with a kind of bravery you only got by needing it not wanting it. He saw the smallest one fighting with a dagger in hand. That was it for Henry.

Henry mustered what little courage he had left and ran towards the monsters. Within a second he got pummeled to the floor. The giant serpentine-like creature was ready to eat him whole. This angered Henry, he had always been weak but he didn't think he was stupid enough to let himself die like this. No he wouldn't, he would fight all the way through.

Henry felt a tug in his gut, he felt his body fighting itself as he manifested a weapon in a flash of red light. What came out was a double edged spear, he barely knew anything about fighting with a spear but he had to try.

He stabbed the serpentine monster in the throat and then rolled out from under its collapsing body. He saw every possible timeline and replicated the one that got him to victory. While the serpentine monster was on the ground, Henry stabbed it in the head making it dissolve into golden dust.

The little girl was about to get eaten by a cyclops as she fought hard to get a hit in. With strength that Henry didn't know he had, Henry threw his spear straight through the cyclops' head.

"C'mon" Henry yelled to the trio, "we've gotta make for camp if you wanna live!" There were more monsters coming.

The trio nodded as Henry dragged the youngest child along with him. She was injured and limping on her right leg. Henry felt renewed but knew that this new found strength was actually just adrenaline.

When Henry made it into camp borders he collapsed, he gave the little girl to another watch guard and struggled to stand up as he assessed the situation.

The boy was close but the girl was close to getting caught by the leftover monsters. She was fighting the monster with the spear that Henry dropped. He ran, he ran like a bat out of hell. He saw red, he was running so fast that within a split second he was next to the girl. He offered his hand and she took it.

That's when it happened, Henry saw it, a possible future of her getting struck by a lightning bolt. Henry was not going to let that happen so he grabbed the girl and in place of her he placed the double edged spear that he took back from her. They rushed forward and while the girl was blown back into the borders of camp, Henry however had not moved, it was like there was some other worldly force keeping him from moving.

With a flash the monsters in front of him were gone and in place was a middle aged man in a pinstripe suit with a long tube with crackling electricity inside of it. His figure was human but his eyes didn't look human.

"You saved my daughter" the man growled

"Uh…you're welcome?" Henry questioned.

"You're welcome? Do you have any idea what you've done boy?" he said "you have defied fate and time with those eyes of yours!"

"What do you mean, with those eyes of mine?" Henry wasn't sure if the man knew about his ability to see more than others or the fact that the color of his eyes were abnormal. In retrospect it was probably the former.

"For this insubordination against fate I will have to take from you, that which had let you take from fate" the man said and the sky rumbled. He let go of the metal rod in his hand and it started floating like it was in outer space.

Within a flash the man was in front of Henry with eyes filled with crackling electricity. The man gripped Henry's face. His hold was strong, there was no room for movement in his grip. His eyes shot sparks of electricity into the air and then they shot sparks of electricity into Henry's eyes.

The pain was unbearable, it was nothing but a moment but it felt like a lifetime. His vision was dimming like a light bulb that had lost power. Then everything went black, his vision was gone along with the increasing pain. Now all that was left was an unstable line of hurt across his face.

The man then threw Henry all the way into camp borders.

"Those eyes have taken much from the world Henry Martin, you should thank me" The man then vanished with a clap of thunder.

Henry passed out as soon as the man vanished.

When Henry woke up, everything was black, he wondered if it was because it was still night time but before he could ponder more on the thought a voice called out to him.

"Are you okay?" Rodger asked.

"Yeah, just a little sore" Henry said remembering the old middle aged man, "why is it dark in here?"

"Henry… it's not dark in here, it's day time" Rodger said carefully.

"What do you mean, it's not day time…" Henry could feel the warmth of the sun on his face.

"So why can't I see anything?" Henry's voice started to elevate in pitch and volume, "why can't I see anything!?" Henry yelled.

"Calm down Henry, it's going to be fine" Rodger said "we can figure out a way through this".

Henry took a couple minutes to calm down, but after a while he got there.

"What do you remember from that night?" Rodger asked

"I remember a man in a pinstriped suit he look human but his eyes, they were…they looked not human"

"What do you mean not human?" Rodger asks

"How long has it been since I passed out?" Henry asks as he skips out on Rodger's question.

"Um, around a week, so what do you mean-" Rodger said as he was cut off once again

"A week? How in the hell do I, I mean what do I do now?"

Rodger face hardened, "If I get interrupted one more time, I will-"

Henry took a deep breath, "Okay, okay, I'll answer your question".

"What do you mean he was not human?"

"He wasn't, he was a god, at least I think he was"

"What did he look like?"

"He had a pinstriped suit, his eyes looked like they were shooting electric out of their ey-"

"It's Zues!"

"How do you-? Ooh that makes sense" Henry said as he realized the truth. "But if that's the case that means that, the girl is-"

"The daughter of Zues"

"How do you know that?" Henry questioned.

"She got claimed days ago" Rodger said in response.

"Oh that makes sense" Henry said as he tried to get up.

Henry stumbled as he tried to make his way through the room, he kicked a wall in an accident which made him fall over.

"Shit!" Henry screamed.

"How about we try getting used to being blind before trying walking?" Rodger said.

Henry felt even more weak and helpless than he did before, he couldn't see the one thing he could actually do better than everyone. He just wanted to sit there and cry but the tears wouldn't come, no matter how sad or how deep the depression the tears wouldn't come.

"Argh! I can't do this, not anymore!" Henry said as started punching the wall in front of him.

Henry kept hitting the wall until he could feel the pain, he could feel the blood drip from his cut fists.

"It hasn't even been an hour and you've already given up?" Rodger berated. "This isn't the Henry I remember."

"You don't even know me, I don't even know you!" Henry exclaimed "What did you actually know about me and my past before I got here?"

"Nothing, but that's part of what this camp is about, we're all family here and we protect each other regardless of the cost you bear nor the baggage" Rodger said in response.

"Who's gonna want a blind, weak, stupid demi-god?"

"I'll be honest, I don't know, all I know is that I'm your camp counselor and it's my job to help you get back to normal.

Henry sarcastically chuckled, "you sound just like an actor from disney channel".

Rodger flashed a big smile and then did a swirling motion with his finger, "and I'm Rodger from disney channel!"

Henry's smile soon dimmed as he realized his situation, "It's pointless, I'll just give up, you know there was no hope for me at this camp even when I could see".

"That's not true-" Rodger protested.

"It is, there's not a single thing that screams demi-god about me, the only thing that even indicated it were my eyes, now they're gone" Henry stated.

The lunch bell rang, and Rodger's face dimmed. Rodger looked at Henry and realized that, right now, he just needed to be alone. "If you ever want anything, you can always ask, you know that right?"

"Yeah, yeah" Henry responded not even sparing a glance to Rodger, not that it would matter with his scarred face.

As Rodger walked out of the room, Henry's heart had started to pound faster and faster until he just couldn't take it anymore. Henry just wanted to stop thinking, he wanted to sleep. When Rodger left Henry started to head butt the wall hard, he did it again, and again until he finally fell asleep.

Henry dreamt of his grandmother. She was a tall woman that looked regal and royal, just by looking at her you could tell she knew of her importance to the world. Henry had never really questioned anything much about his grandmother, Henry only knew one thing, she wasn't human. The things that she did, like slapping her hands together and then manifesting food, were not normal. She would also talk about Henry's father in ways that seemed to mention that he was a god. She would say, "your father, like your grandfather, was always going after lesser women. I told him again and again, that if he would just settle down…well it doesn't matter now". Just as Henry was beginning to settle into a nicer more peaceful vision of his grandmother a voice spoke, interrupting the vivid images of his dream.

"Wake up, Henry Martin, slave of the styx. It is not befitting of the river styx if its champion is a blind, fumbling, weakling! So wake and do not stir in your slumber any longer". The mysterious voice said.

Henry woke up feeling pain, the pain from hitting his head on the wall repetitively. Henry was confused, he didn't know where the voice in his dream came from but he knew demi-gods dreams rarely are what they're meant to be.

Henry steadily tried to get up with the wall as his support. He followed the wall as a guideline for the infirmary, house, cabin? Henry didn't know, all he needed to do was get some fresh air.

After six bloody noses, Henry finally made it out of the, well Henry still didn't know. Henry could tell he was outside because of the increased sounds of the wilderness. Henry found a pole and then slumped on it. Thinking about how drastically his life has changed just because of one decision. Or many decisions.

If Henry hadn't saved Zues's daughter would he be in a better position right now? He knew about the prophecy, not many did but he could through timelines. Sometimes he could only see a little of a certain situation but out of all the things that he saw one thing stayed the same. A child of Zues, Hades, or Poseidon would lead the next generation of demi-gods. It was the general flow of time, something instinctual that he just knew. It was gone now…something he would have to get used to.

"Henry", Rodger shouted. "Henry, what in the hell happened to you?" Rodger exclaimed as he saw Henry's bloodied face.

"I tried to get out of whatever the hell kind of room I was in," Henry explained. Henry motioned to his nose and forehead, "as you can see I succeeded but it came with some sacrifice".

"Okay, let's get you cleaned up" Rodger said as he hauled Henry up and threw him onto his back.

"Agh" Henry exclaimed.

"Sorry, sorry", Rodger apologized.

"Put me down-" Henry said but was cut off by Rodger.

"No."

Before Henry could complain, Rodger zoomed off towards the big house.

As Rodger walked into the big house Rodger on his back Mr. D confronted them.

"Let me talk to him" Mr. D demanded.

"Okay" Rodger said, placing Henry down on his feet.

"Alone" Mr. D said deadly serious.

Rodger swallowed hard, "no".

"No, I don't think that's how a mortal is supposed to talk to a god."

Rodger squeezed his knuckles so hard they began to turn white.

Henry jumped into the conversation, albeit facing the other way of the two, and said, "Rodger it's fine, you can go".

"Okay" Rodger said as he walked out of the big house. You could hear regret in his voice.

"Before we actually start talking it might serve you best if you turn around and face me".

"Oh right, sorry" Henry said as he turned around.

"You know I told you boy" Mr. D said.

"You told me what?"

"I told you not to let anyone take what was rightfully yours" Mr. D said, "yet you did anyway".

Henry was confused, did Mr. D not know who did this to him?

"Do you even know who took my eyesight from me?" Henry said defensively.

"It was my father, was it not. If your excuse was he was a god, then don't even bother speaking. I warned you, I told you that the gods were cruel" Dionysus said.

Henry swallowed, "I couldn't do anything against him, I've always been weak but now I'm just useless".

"That is true, but there may be a way to rectify that"

"What do you mean by 'there may be a way to rectify that'?"

"Long ago, when you were born, something was taken from you, do you know what that was?" Dionysus asked.

"Yeah, my parents, and almost a semi stable home environment" Henry responded sarcastically.

"That, while your truth, is not what I am speaking of." Dionysus explained. "What do you know of the gods and their divinity?"

"Their divinity is what lets them rule and control aspects of the world, right?" Henry asked.

"That is true as well but that is still not what I am asking for" Dionysus said. "A god's divinity is like a battery, we have a marginal level of power and we gain more based on our effect on society and the faith mortals have towards us."

"Okay…" Henry says as he tries to process what was happening, Mr.D was actually lecturing him.

Dionysus cuts through Henry's confused look and continues on, "that energy can be removed, and stored away".

"Wait, what if that's true then…" Henry pondered.

"Not just anyone can do this; however, in order to be able to take the energy of a god you would need to be more powerful than them." Dionysus explains, "It's much easier if you are directly related to the god in question but it can be done without a blood connection".

"Okay, has this been done before, like on an Olympian?" Henry asks.

Dionysus' face sneered into an expression of disappointment, "you half bloods, you know nothing of your predecessors, do you?"

Henry very intelligently just said, "uh…".

"It doesn't matter now, and to answer your question, yes it has. It happened to both Poseidon and Apollo." Dionysus said, "For gods as powerful as Olympians however their power cannot be entirely separated from them because of the fact that they represent some of the most essential forces of the world. Their power needs to be tethered to the origin of their strength, the god that first held that power".

"Right, um, I really appreciate the history lesson but what does this have to do with me?" Henry asks.

Dionysus just sighed in response, "what this means is that the same thing that happened to Apollo and Poseidon, happened to you too".

Henry just stood there in shock, not actually contemplating what this meant but just imagining how it happened.

Henry's words came out in a blur, not coherent enough to form a sentence or even a full word, "Ho-wai-wh-"

"Your father did it if that's what you were asking. You mortals process information so slowly, do you know how many times us gods have had to integrate with society?" Dionysus said in response.

"Wait, what do you mean my father did it? For what reason would he want to take away my divinity?" Henry asked.

"I do not know the specifics, I just know that when I look at you, it's like looking at half of a person, like you're not real because not all of you is here" Dionysus explained.

"So what happens now?"

"Now" Dionysus said with a grin on his face, "you talk to your father".

Even though Henry couldn't see it, he could tell the room was empty again. There was a kind of presence you could feel when you were near a god and that was no longer there in the room.

That presence was quickly filled because then Henry could feel another presence. Something more unrestrained than Dionysus' laid back presence.

"Hey, punk" The man said, presumably Ares.

"Ares?" Henry asked.

"Hey, wouldn't it be better to call me dad or something"

With just those two sentences, Henry was already confused. Wasn't the god of war supposed to be regal or something?

"Y'know, I am regal, it's just when the world changes, you do too" Ares said.

As he was speaking Ares, tone shifted, his presence did as well. Instead of the uncontrollable aspect of war, Henry could feel the controlled patience of it. It was like speaking to a different aspect of the same person.

"You are…" Ares swallowed hard, as if he was going to speak about something that he never planned on speaking about, "I guess that's one way, you're a lot like your mother, she always liked me to be presentable and less rugged. She changed me, but only she could do that, and I suppose you can as well".

Henry's voice cracked, "what was that supposed to mean?".

"Nothing of your concern, at least not right now"

"Okay…could you tell me about my mother?" Henry asked.

"If that is what you wish. Your mother was the only sole person capable of changing me. I used to want war, I used to want to do things that I cannot even imagine doing now. I had thought war was about conflict, and hate but she showed there are other ways of looking at it. Those were great times, but they are gone. You are but a remnant of what she was, nothing more" Ares said.

"What does that mean?" Henry asked, "You keep saying she changed you, like she made you better, but if that was the case why did you take my divinity?"

Ares' tone hadn't changed; he sounded regal, like his grandmother…

"She did change me, but change isn't always permanent. I thought that if you became irrelevant to the world of the gods then I wouldn't have to see you again. It turns out that even after everything that I did to make you not mine, your claim to war still hasn't vanished"

"What exactly did you do to make me 'not yours'?" Henry asked.

"That's for another time, just know that I am here to give you something back, something that I took from you".

"My divinity" Henry stated.

"Yes".

As Ares got closer to Henry he started to talk, "I wouldn't have done this if it weren't for the fact that your divinity almost exploded onto itself that night. You see the divinity of demi-gods is different from that of full blooded gods. You are born to a pillar of the world's power, whether it be: war, the ocean, the sky, or any other power of the world. You are born to it, so you have a right, a birthright to flourish with it. I suppose without my interference it would have made its way back to you, but I suppose I wanted to cut short the anticipation. Hopefully this will make up for what my father took from you".

Ares placed a hand onto Henry's chest, and then he flew back.

Henry let out a loud scream, the energy that he hadn't been possession since he was a newborn was accustomed to the circumstances of this new body, familiar but different.

Ares on the other hand was surprised. He hadn't expected this type of reaction from the boy. As red colored energy filled the room, Henry's screaming increased in pitch as well.

With a loud pop the energy around the room dispersed and began to feed into Henry's body.

When Henry's divinity had finally restored itself to his body there was a long pause in the room.

Ares' brow furrowed in anticipation. Is he dead, Ares thought.

Henry took in a big breath and then yelled, "Ah shit! That was not fun".

Henry stood up, this time a lot more comfortably.

"Is this how all demi-gods feel all the time? I don't even know what to do with this much energy" Henry exclaimed.

"I am not familiar with what it is like to be a demi-god but I can surmise that the answer is yes" Ares took one final look at Henry, "my task is accomplished".

Henry could feel Ares' presence shift, "good by punk, see you never!" Ares said as he flashed away.

Henry was in awe with what he felt. He could smell, hear, and taste so much that it did more than compensate for regular eye sight. It was like he could almost see with the increased senses, it was like his other senses were painting a picture for him.

Henry got over excited and started to run out of the big house but as soon as he tried his foot smashed through a wooden wardrobe, obviously the new senses did not compensate for sight as much as he thought. That was new Henry thought, was he stronger? Henry wasn't sure what his newly recovered divinity had granted him. He felt like he did when he was saving the trio a week ago, but the only difference was that it was consistent. It wasn't flickering like the first time, his divinity must've leaked out when he was fighting the cyclops.

Henry slumped down again but this time for a good reason. Finally he felt complete, like a whole person. Henry laughed out loud.

"Henry!" Rodger called as he made his way to the room Henry was in, "what happened, is everything okay?".

"Yeah, everything is more than okay," Henry stated.

"You look different, like not eyes burned out differently, but you look like you're glowing" Rodger stated.

"Rodger I can't get pregnant, I'm not a woman, I'm a dude" Henry stated.

"That's obvious enough, it's just you feel different," Rodger said.

"Well I guess I have a lot of explaining to do."

Henry then started to explain everything that happened to Rodger, from talking to Mr. D, to speaking with his father.

"Woah, that's a lot to take in", "your Ares kid?"

"Yeah"

"Y'know that means that you can't bunk in the Hermes cabin anymore, right?" Rodger asked.

"Oh, I forgot about that".

"It's fine I'll still be around to keep you in check so don't go ditching class!"

"Right, how am I even gonna get to class in the first place?"

"I don't know, maybe we'll assign somebody to you".

"Okay, could you guide me to the dining hall then?" Henry asked.

"Sure thing" Rodger replied.

As they were walking toward the dining hall there was a commotion going on, Henry could hear the cheers of victory.

"What time is it?" Henry asked.

"Oh it's five thirty pm" Rodger replied.

"Oh, so someone captured the flag, who won?"

"Thalia, Luke, and Annabeth"

"Who?"

Rodger paused for a moment, "the kids you saved that day".

Oh, Rodger thought, the daughter of Zues and her friends.

"Thalia is the daughter of Zues which makes her my aunt, not something I want to unpack, Annabeth is a daughter of Athena, and Luke is my brother".

"Brother? Oh wait, he's another Hermes kid" Rodger asked and then stated.

"Yeah, he's actually really cool, they're all pretty young though, Luke is supposed to turn thirteen next month, close to your age."

Henry could hear the cheers going out in Thalia's name. I guess being the daughter of the king of the gods had some perks, Henry thought.

As Henry and Luke walked towards the Hermes table, Rodger said, "almost forgot, you have to sit at the Ares table now".

"Oh yeah, I forgot about that"

"I'll be there to check in on you, but first I gotta go get you one of those blind man walking sticks"

"Wait, they're available here?"

"Well not regularly but I'm having Steven make you a celestial bronze version, since it's made by the Hephaestus cabin it'll probably have some weird kind of contraption attached to it".

"Well that sounds a little over the top"

"After the week you've had you deserve it", Rodger said as he ran off towards the Hephaestus cabin.

"Thanks for leaving me stranded in the middle of nowhere" Henry said quietly to himself.

Henry decided to walk in the direction of the voices in the crowd and as he did, he bumped into someone.

"Oh sorry" he apologized.

"Hey watch your-" the boy said but stopped midway as he realized why Henry bumped into him.

"Luke he's blind, you can't talk to him like that" a girl in the background said.

"Um, who are you?" Henry asked.

"Oh sorry for not introducing ourselves first", the girl said, "I'm Thalia, Thalia grace".

The girl seemed to quietly whisper something to the boy as she nudged him with a very loud, "umph".

"I, uh, am sorry for yelling at you, my name is Luke Castellan, it's nice to meet you" he yelled the last part, he must not have much experience apologizing, Henry thought.

"It's fine"

"How'd you become blind?"Thalia asked, "if you don't mind me asking".

Henry's voice cracked, his throat became tight, "oh… a monster did it", Henry lied.

Henry didn't want to tell Thalia her father had done this to him because a, it would this conversation awkward and b, it's not like he would ever have to look her in the face and deal with the guilt of lying to her.

"Oh", Thalia said, "well thank you for saving us".

"Uh yeah, no problem, by the way where are we right now?" Henry asked.

"We're in the dining pavilion, do you need any help getting anything?" Luke answered for Thalia.

"Yes can I get-"

There was a loud uproar of what sounded like satyrs trampling demi-gods. Within a second Henry could hear the buzzing of Thalia's electricity.

"What's happening?" Henry asked.

"There's been an attack on camp", was all Thalia said before she rushed for the battle.

"Wait here, we'll keep the camp safe" Luke said before he too, ran out for battle.

Henry felt empty again. He realized that it would always be like this, being left behind, letting people protect. He couldn't even run away by himself without getting caught in the wrong direction. Henry felt so mad. No he felt hatred, he hated every single god out there. The gods who stole what was rightfully his, the gods who believe themselves to be better than the rest. He hated them all.

He let the hate flow and flow like a wound bleeding. He wanted to feel the hatred, he wanted it to consume him until all he could feel was hatred and nothing else. He was so close but then something happened. He couldn't feel it, the hatred. It was gone.

"Did you think I, the goddess of hate, would let you, my champion, be blinded by its wrath?" Said a voice in Henry's head.

"What in the hell?" Henry murmured right before he was knocked unconscious by a mysterious figure.
