AN: Cursing in the form of the F word in this chapter.

Gossip goes fast in Forks.

"Wow, I'm a whore at the speed of sound," I told Alex as we left school. "We haven't even been here a month and I only slapped his ass yesterday with like ten people in the parking lot."

"Alice said we're heading to their place tonight. I need to feed. Also I'm so proud of you." As he drove he leaned over and gave me a kiss on the cheek. He knows I hate that because even though his reflexes are top notch, I don't have the ability to live if we do crash.

"Stop that. I didn't think me slapping his ass would do anything. It didn't when I was in my world."

"You're a girl. You slapped the ass of a single guy who many girls would jump if given the chance." And if he didn't have such an issue with blood-which would make him seem much more appealing to the masses. His grimace wouldn't throw off his pretty looks.

Speaking of which, he's been doing better with the blood! The family randomly feeds and he's admitted to me last night that with the rotation of feeding, not everyone was hungry at once. He's noticed the difference when he was at home.

"I have that chance you know."

"And yet you don't take it. Talk about wasted opportunity."

"Such a shame."

I was greeted at the Cullen home by kidnapping via Alice. My new prison was her room.

"Why am I being held captive by an evil Fairy Godmother?"

She smiled sweetly, as though she did nothing wrong. "I want to find a cute outfit for you!"

"Help!" I couldn't sound more bored as I sat on her bed as she dug in her walk-in closet. "Please someone help. She's torturing me. Oh dear help me."

"If you ask him to, Jasper would kidnap you in your own heartbeat." Alex stood in the open doorway with a grin on his face. "You gonna be able to leave?"

"You'll have to ask my parole officer. I hear she's horrible to work with."

"I'll go have a few words with her." He started heading toward her closet and I decided it was wise to head out of that room.

"Jasper, where's your room? Fan theory has it you play guitar and I want to hear something other than my parole officer and parental guardian ruining Alice's closet."

He appeared next to me and settled a hand on my lower back to lead me away. "She'd never allow it. They'd make their way to her bed eventually."

I've been doing better too! I keep my sanity when Jasper talks!

Progress!

"I'm not sleeping on it if they do. They can use the bathroom counter." He nudged me to move just a little faster and for a moment the feeling on my back was gone.

Pretty sure the bedroom door might now be closed.

"I don't envy you guys when it comes to romantic moments. Especially Carlisle and Esme. Two sweet people and they have you teens running around here ruining any moment alone together they could have."

"It was only Rose and Emmett," he reminded me.

I shook my head as he nudged me toward a closed door. Without bothering to ask, I just opened it. "In the book it was only Edward who wasn't paired off. So you were as much part of the problem as they were. I adore the colors in here. I'll steal your bed in the morning when I can get my henchmen here." Cream and brown is so pretty together. Everyone always wants over the top but sometimes the basics can be nice too.

"Why henchmen? Wouldn't Alex be enough?"

"He's busy." I'm pretending I'm not hearing anything. "Pretty sure my parole officer will let me go without bail though so I think I'm safe enough to get a good batch of baddies. I hear you're a mafia guy, so I might just have to ask you for help."

"I can't just give them away."

"No fair. I can't just sleep with you to get my way."

And we weren't alone. "Pretty sure you could."

"Thanks for the confidence boost Emmett." I smiled at the burly Cullen. "I always thought he might think me unappealing but just that one sentence has sent my ego soaring through the roof."

"Hey, Jasper would move the moon for you."

"Would he now?" I sat on his bed and glanced at him. "What would it take for you to move your bed and the moon?"

"You topless," he joked.

"Okay!" I said at the same time I heard Esme scream, "Jasper!"

I was going to do it too, but Jasper stopped me. "Please don't." Emmett was dying and Edward was standing next to his slowly dying brother. Pretty sure he might laugh to death. "With Alice and Alex already busy, I really don't need to test my self control that much."

"Way to boost a girl's mood." I waved him off and fell backwards on his bed. "Seriously though. I've said it before that Alex has seen me naked way more times than everyone assumes. We have learned that panic attacks can happen mid shower and are not fun in any way. You can actually choke on the water. Who knew? It really doesn't bother me if anyone else sees me naked."

"I came to tell you that Carlisle wanted to talk to you," Edward politely interrupted. I'm pretty sure he's just trying to distract us long enough for Emmett to die. No one says that immediately after someone gets comfortable.

No one.

"I'm sorry."

"You saw me get comfortable. Don't look at me to give a helpful nudge to your Isabella or let you check her out when she's awake again." He looked a bit down at that. Probably hit a nerve. "Alex told me you've stopped going to her room and just took a sweatshirt instead to get use to her smell. I'm proud of you for that. You can do what the rest of us do and catch her attention."

"Or slap her ass."

"Shut up Emmett," Jasper told his brother. I'm told-by my informant Alice-that the boys can't wrestle in the house because they break things too often. It's normally Jasper or Emmett that start it and typically drag Edward into it for bonding. Had that rule not been in place, I'm sure Jasper would've tackled Emmett by now.

"I enjoyed it."

"He did too!" Alex called loud enough for me to hear.

"Shut up while you're banging my parole officer!" I yelled back. "Does Esme just give up on you guys sometimes? She never says anything about my language."

"It makes her uncomfortable," Jasper admitted. He now looked down at me and was reaching for my arms to pull me up.

"She doesn't say anything because you're older than her technically and from a different world than ours. She doesn't want to upset you." I nodded toward Edward's addition to the conversation.

"If she wants to scold me she can." Jasper carefully helped me up but didn't pull me off the bed yet. "I won't be offended. I know in human years I'm technically older than everyone here, but I can take a scolding."

"I'm sorry honey." Esme was in the doorway now with Emmett gone. He's probably somewhere near Rosalie, who's probably fixing a car or painting her nails. With her it could honestly be either one.

"She's working on your car. Alex gave permission."

"Alex that was my parents!"

"No it wasn't!"

"It may've been!" I turned my attention back to Esme.

"I just didn't want to fuss you for something that seems to be commonplace to you."

I shrugged. "It is. Cursing is fairly normal in the future. I came from a later year than here and honestly its just as common as not cursing. I typically try to keep it to only a few lesser offensive ones. I know that ass is horrible because it describes Alex and using it on anyone else is just mean, but sometimes it needs to be said."

"He's threatening to come in here naked," Jasper told me.

"Please don't. I'll need bleach if I see you naked and in the mood." Esme was holding her hands in front of her and if she had a towel in them I'm pretty sure she'd be fiddling with that. "But if you'd like I can try to hold back a bit more if it makes you uncomfortable."

She nodded her head. "I don't want to make it seem like a chore but..."

"You were raised in a time and around others from times where cursing was a minimal use word. You'd hear it maybe once a day if you were lucky. I understand completely. I'm from a time where you were lucky if you heard something that wasn't a curse word." I tilted my head slightly. "I will say that you'll have to get somewhat use to it though. If the future's the same as mine then there's going to be a lot more cursing and you guys speaking proper will stand out even more. I can try to cut down my cursing a bit but please try to use it as training for the future as well."

"I can do that," she agreed. "I don't like it but I understand."

"And please don't worry about anything with me. I can take a scolding or talking to. I'm a grown adult, as are everyone else here even if they stopped aging, so if something needs to be said then please say it. I'm also saying this not for myself but if things continue the way they do in the series...You're a kind woman but you let too much pass by and even though we're all adults everyone here sees you as a mother. If you allow something then they'll believe it to be fine. Edward should not have had to watch Bella sleep." She looked down at her hands. "How did it turn into me scolding you? I thought you were supposed to come in here scolding me."

We both laughed slightly at that. "I suppose that I do let a lot pass. They're all good kids but I suppose with our being vampires, I let much more pass than I would normally."

My eyes found Edward's. "Because I'll need backup to fight Edward when he becomes too demanding." He bristled and I heard a noise from beside me, causing me to glance over at Jasper. Not gonna lie, that's actually kind of attractive for him to try to protect me. Maybe girls really do like men who can protect them. I sure as hell do. "Don't try to fight it Edward. Everyone has a fault and I've seen yours. You waited so long for your mate and she's from a different time than yours. You have to know that she won't act like you think. Look at Jasper. He has yet to make any kind of comment about my brash personality because he's actually talking to me. When I'm awake we just talk about what the hell makes us tick. Why I don't mind being naked. Why he likes to tap his fingers on his knee. Things like that. As things come to pass, I'll talk more about some things then speak just between you and Bella and see what you'd like the others to know. I'll also say this once and I don't want you to fight me on this. Before you two decide on vampirism or not, talk to me. I don't care if it's between the two of you. You need to know some things."

"Things that Alex knows."

"Alex knows everything and when I feel comfortable enough with Jasper he'll know everything if he wants to as well."

"When you feel comfortable enough. You seem very comfortable."

"I've been in love before Edward. I was married before I died. So yeah, I said it right when I said I wanted to feel comfortable enough. I don't know him well enough to love him. Attraction isn't the same as love. Even with mates you can be together but not really know one another well. You'd be broken if they died but what if you couldn't tell anyone their favorite color? How would that really make you feel? It would mean you didn't really know them as well as people think. Then people would doubt the love. Oh and it turns out his favorite color is green. Kind of thought it'd be blue."

"Hers is cream."

"Carlisle's is maroon."

"My lovely vision's is lavender," Carlisle stated from the doorway with his arm around his wife's waist.

"Rosie's is ruby red!" Emmett called from the first floor.

"And she knows Emmett's is green as well," Jasper informed me. "However both Alice and Alex are at a loss."

"Yeah, talking is a good thing. It comes over time really and those two haven't been together long, but they do need to talk more. In the book she and Jasper were close enough that they never really needed to talk to understand one another, but she's mated with my idiot of a best friend who doesn't use his head for everything. I'm his brain half the time and I'm sleeping when they're together. I'm lucky he doesn't need to ask for help right now. And no I'm not helping you. If you have a problem that's your problem." I lifted my hand out so Jasper could help me off of his bed. "Now I suppose it's time to talk to Carlisle?"

So the talk with Carlisle has nothing to do with Alex and everything to do with my past and current life and the medical side of it. He knows my previous blood type since I knew that one but this one is a mystery to me. I was allergic to peanuts in my last life and not in this one. My heterochromia was not something from my previous life.

We assume neither life is really connected to the other outside of my shared memories.

"Hey get off my parole officer Alex! Time to eat!"

Jasper followed after me when Carlisle had finished with me and had played a round of chess before running through the house with the others to cover all of the windows. Alice had gone shopping for them recently so I could sleep over finally.

"Woo food time!" He at least put his clothes back on before running down.

"Don't be so excited." I just stared at him. "So what did my parole officer set my bail at?"

"Two nights in prison I'm afraid." He plucked me from my seat only to settle me on his lap on the couch. "Good thing is you can choose your cell and the food you get, so that's nice."

"Wow, you're that bad? You suck as a best friend you know."

"Sorry. You were distracting me with colors and now I know hers is a royal purple, she knows mine is tan, and I'm now wearing a purple thong."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"I really did not want to know that."

"Want to see?"

"I want some bleach."

"So feeding time for the weird vampire then?" Emmett asked as he wandered in with Rosalie.

Alice came down the stairs with a skip and a promise of a new outfit for me when Alex was done. Everyone else was curious on how Alex fed and I was a bit annoyed that I wasn't facing the TV.

Edward made it known, pretty sure the others talked where I couldn't hear, and all of a sudden I was sitting on the coffee table. "I'm watching Looney Toons."

"Sure," Alex told me as he kneeled in front of me. The channel immediately changed without my input. I suspect a vampire is to blame. "Want me to count?" One hand was resting on my knee.

"Nah, you've got an audience and I'm going to watch Bugs Bunny put Daffy to shame whether I'm aware or-" And he bit my neck. It never gets any better. "Fuck! You could've let me finish asshole."

He squeezed the opposite side of my neck with his free hand as an apology. I just draped my arms over his shoulders and watched Daffy get shot for duck season again. While Daffy refixed his bill, I listened to the gulping coming from my best friend. His raven hair tickled my face and honestly it was the only thing I could concentrate on very well outside of the show.

"And you two do this each week?" Carlisle questioned.

Time to put my muddling brain to work. "Yeah." I sighed slightly and leaned farther against Alex. "Feeding often keeps his control in check. He's not hungry enough to lose control and I'm healed enough that I can give blood again." He also picks the same exact spot every time so there's only the one scar. "It's the least I can do so he doesn't have to suffer if he can't find a meal." Three more gulps. "He keeps me safe so I keep him safe my own way." My hand tapped his back. "Alex, stop. My period."

He stopped but didn't move away as he normally did.

"Alice do you see anyone hurting her?" Edward asked as my eyes slid shut.

"No, it's fine. Jasper isn't affected by her blood and can keep the rest of us in check if we're at risk." Alex removed his mouth from my neck and covered it with his hand.

"Heya girly. Doing okay?" I opened my eyes to see his bright red ones staring straight back into mine. As normal they looked concerned. "You didn't even prattle on about what's happening." He glanced back at the show for a moment before turning his attention back to me. "I'm lost as to what happened in the show now."

"I got nervous," I mumbled before yawning. Carlisle was now beside me and had a roll of bandages in his hands with a gentle smile and some blood on his hand. "That for me?"

Alex pat my cheek with his bloody hand. "Sorry flower. Might've taken a bit too much during your time of the month. Alice and Rosalie are going to help you get changed and put you with your new warden. I hear Jasper can entertain you while you're behind bars."

"He can sing a song," I mumbled to Alex.

"He'll sing a song for the little jailbird then." His hands shifted at my sides and I began to wonder when they moved from one being on my neck. "Just do me a favor and drool on his pillows, alright?"

"I'll do my best."

"Good." He tilted his head as he watched me. "I'm gonna bring you to his room, alright? Close your eyes and next time you wake up I'll be there to mess with you."

"Mm." Another sigh left me. "Chase my nightmares away?"

"Jasper can do that just fine in my place Flower." I didn't really answer him and got shaken slightly in response. "Will you be fine with that?"

"Yeah."
