Another chapter is here. Apologies for the wait. Hope you all enjoy reading it.

The Final Showdown

Hiccup and Raya scoured up the walls together using rope and teamwork. They reached the top and together they swiped and knocked out some guards with their sword handles. They peered over a ledge and Hiccup glanced carefully through his spyglass. He saw Smokey hiding behind a tower top from Namaari and her shoulders.

"Perfect," he said.

"You sure Smokey can keep this up?" Raya asked.

"You don't know Smokey," Hiccup assured.

Namaari growled as she and her soldiers failed to shoot down the Smokebreath dragon. "Just shoot it already!" she shouted.

Boun sailed his boat across the water whilst Heart's soldiers made it across the bridge. Tong brought out his axe. The Ongis tossed up a hook and it was attached to the top. Together the group joined in and they charged in with Renata and her two sons.

"Princess Namaari, Heart has made it across the gate!" the soldier alerted.

Namaari stared down at the invaders. She became scared. "I must get the gem piece. Hold them back as long as you can!"

She rushed off away from the gates towards the palace. She walked up the stairs and found the gem piece in the throne room. She gripped it tightly.

"Namaari!" a sudden voice spooked her. "You treacherous binturi!"

Namaari turned around to see Raya marching up to her, fuming with rage, her sword gripped in her hand. "Let's finish this binturi," she stuffed the gem piece behind her back and pulled out her swords. She marched down to meet her rival. She charged forward. Raya did. Their swords clashed and they snarled at one another.

Hiccup hid behind a column watching the girls fight. He pulled out a canister of Zippleback gas.

Tong, Boun and Noi and the Ongis made it past the gates. They looked around and saw many subjects of Fang fleeing in terror. Renata joined them.

"Remember everyone! No subject on Fang is to be harmed. Restrain the soldiers but don't harm the women and children!"

Hiccup watched Raya fight Namaari. Once they were in some sort of block, Raya looked over Namaari's shoulder and nodded over to him. He nodded back. Quickly he tossed the Zippleback gas canister and the gas spewed out.

Raya kicked Namaari backwards and then flipped as she tried to slash her. Namaari began to cough in the big cloud of gas and the next thing she felt was everything exploded around her. She was knocked down and sent falling down the stairs with patches of smoke painted over her skin. The gem piece rolled away along but her dragon pendant remained next to her. She coughed as she grabbed the piece of jewellery. Then she attempted to escape once she grabbed the gem piece.

"After her!" Hiccup shouted, pursuing her with Raya.

Namaari reached the entrance but she stopped only thirty feet away. Tong was standing in front. He carried his axe. She clutched the gem piece tightly.

She frantically peered around for another way out. But to her right was Boun that smacked his fist against his left hand. She turned left. Noi and the Ongis were standing there doing the same thing as her. She stood back afraid as her enemies drew in on her. She turned around but she was met with the faces of Raya and Hiccup.

Before she could react Raya swung her foot and kicked the gem piece out of her hands and into Hiccups. She then kicked Namaari to the floor. Namaari tried to sit up but Hiccup and Raya towered over her victoriously, pointing their blades at her.

"Please! I never meant to kill Toothless!" she cried, begging for mercy.

"Liar!" Raya shouted.

"I don't care if you believe me!" Looking down, Raya saw a downhearted Namaari clutching her golden dragon pendent protectively. "Sisu did! But you didn't trust her Raya! That's why we're here! That's why Toothless is dead!"

"Don't you dare blame this on Raya!" Hiccup kicked the pendent out from Namaari's hand and pointed Inferno right at her nose so she could feel the hot flames burning her face. "You're the one who betrayed and threatened us! You're the one who held your finger on the trigger to fire! You're the one who killed Toothless! This is all on you! And now…" he stepped closer. Namaari shuffled back, tears of fear raining down her face. "You're going to die!"

"No, wait! Stop! Stop!" Namaari bailed out in tears. "If you kill me, he'll kill my people!"

Raya scoffed. "Like we're going to fall for that again!"

"No, please! Please! You'll kill all my people if you do this! They're innocent!"

"We know they're innocent! We will spare them! But you will be punished for your crimes against Kumandra!" Raya declared. "Take her away Tong!"

Namaari was shackled. "Guys stop! You don't understand, he's….!" she was suddenly gagged by a potato stuffed in her mouth, courtesy of Boun. The Ongis tied her up and Tong threw her over her shoulders.

"Time to bring everyone back," Raya said holding up the final gem piece.

"The attack was successful," Boun said proudly.

"We did it," Hiccup breathed out relievedly. Raya threw her arms around him and he hugged her. She let go but before she could lean to kiss him, Smokey and Sharpshot came flying out of nowhere and slammed right into Hiccup's chest knocking him down. They licked his face and Raya laughed.

"Okay! Okay! Okay!" he laughed out. He sat up and he hugged his little dragons. He stood up and they rested on his shoulders and nuzzled their faces against his cheeks.

"Are you guys ready?" She asked the others excitedly.

They nodded and they pulled out the gem pieces. Bending down, Raya and Hiccup gathered the pieces and fixed them together until the orb was complete.

They stood back up, excitement flying in their chests. They waited. And waited. Nothing happened.

"Is…something supposed to happen?" Boun asked.

"I don't understand," Raya was beginning to cry. "The gem's complete! Something should have happened!" She was heartbroken. Her joy of reuniting with her father withered like dying leaves.

"Maybe something is happening," Hiccup would give up hope. "And we just don't know it,"

"No Hiccup. Something's supposed to have happened," Tong sounded grim. "Legend says that when…the last dragon defeated the Druun with this gem, a powerful rainfall came and everyone who was stone came back. There is no rainfall outside,"

"It didn't work," Boun hung his head down.

Noi began to cry for her mother. The Ongis hugged her.

Namaari still over Tong's shoulder felt a heavy burden on her shoulders. A tear escaped her eye. For the first time in six years, she felt more guilty than ever for her actions. She wanted to say sorry but she couldn't. Not because she was gagged but because she knew that everyone would lash out with unforgiveness.

Raya turned around and cried into her hands. All she wanted was to bring her ba back. But now she felt she would never see him again.

Hiccup felt deep sorrow for his friends. "I'm so sorry everyone," he gave them a moment of silence. "What happens now?"

Tong frowned. "We bring justice for what this murderer did," He tightened his grip on his prisoner.

Boun wiped his nose. "Namaari and her mother will pay for all the pain they've brought us,"

"We'll find Virana once we bring Namaari to a cell where she belongs. We'll give you guys some time alone," Tong gave Hiccup one last sad look before he turned.

Boun look at Hiccup and gestured to him to comfort Raya. He nodded.

Boun, Noi and the Ongis slowly walked out after Tong, leaving Hiccup, Raya, and the little dragons alone.

"Go and find any more people on this island," Hiccup with a despondent voice requested his dragons.

His dragons didn't want to leave him.

"I'll be all right. I promise," he assured.

They licked his quivering face and they flew off. Raya's sobs rung in Hiccup's eyes. She cried and cried, falling to the floor. She was never going to see her father again. Hiccup bent down in the same position Raya did when Toothless was killed. "I'm so sorry Raya," he shed a tear.

Raya threw her arms around his chest. "Thank you Hiccup," she sobbed into his chest and he held her close. He stroked her hair and a tear fell off his face. "I thought that…I thought that this was what could bring my father back. And now I've failed him,"

"No Raya," Hiccup shook his head. "You could never, ever fail him. Not in any way,"

Raya's eyes opened slightly. Her wet iris's aimed up. A large man was leaping down on them. "Look out!"

Hiccup looked up and saw Krogan with a thick spear weapon leaping down on them. Quickly he pushed Raya back and rolled backwards before Krogan's weapon could land down between them.

Raya drew out her sword. She leapt at Krogan and tried to wound him but he blocked her attacks and kicked her sword away with his weapon before kicking her back.

"No!" Hiccup activated his sword again and swiped at him. But Krogan blocked his attacks.

"I'm much too strong for you now," he mocked.

"You should have stayed dead," Hiccup seethed.

"And you should have listened to Namaari," he goaded. "But of course, she killed Toothless. How could you even trust her or listen to her for the sake of her people?"

His words stunned both Hiccup and Raya.

Krogan punched Hiccup backwards. His nose began bleeding.

"Hiccup!" Raya tried to help him but Krogan bashed the thick end of his weapon against her as she was bruised. He picked her up and threw her against some stairs further wounding her.

Hiccup tried to reach her but Krogan landed his heavy foot on his chest. He felt his lungs compressing. He struggled to breathe. He tried to kick but Krogan's muscles were too bulgy. He could do nothing but turn his face to Raya's. Her wet eyes drifted to his. They were locked together.

Krogan looked down at Hiccup, then over at Raya. "Ahh….love," he mocked and tutted again. "Such a powerful but…stupid thing,"

"It's not stupid when you have a heart. But yours is cold as ice," Hiccup coughed out with what little air he had in his squeezed lungs.

"Say goodbye to your girl Hiccup," Krogan cackled. "Look her in the eyes one more time whilst she begs me to spare you," he raised the sharp bit of his weapon.

"Hiccup!" Raya begged. She tried to get up but she was too weak.

Krogan prepared to strike down Hiccup. When of a sudden, his arm was gripped by a long tail of blue scales. He twisted his head. He saw a growling Sisu. She roared in his face. His courage turned to fear. Sisu flipped him up into the air and then caught him by the leg. She dangled him in front of her fiery purple eyes.

Hiccup looked up at Sisu with shock. She had returned and rescued him.

Krogan began to freak out. "Nice dragon?" he blabbered out quickly.

"You will never harm another soul ever again," Sisu spoke viciously. "Not whilst I still stand,"

Krogan's eyes enlarged. "You can talk?"

"Yes. And I can do more,"

"No! Please!" he begged like a baby.

But Sisu rocketed out into the open, dragging the Dragon Flyer behind her with her tail up into the sky.

Raya crawled to Hiccup, embracing him tightly. He hugged her back. She cupped her cheeks. "Are you okay?"

Hiccup nodded. Together they stood up and helped each other outside. They raised their heads and saw Sisu bashing Krogan against the tower heads.

You came back. Raya felt relief. After she shouted at Sisu to leave them, a part of her felt guilty, traumatised by how she had screamed and lashed out. Now that the last dragon was back here and helping them. Perhaps she was the key they needed to finally make the Dragon Gem work and help everyone.

Sisu flew high above the island, then she started flying around in circles to make Krogan feel dizzy. Then she sent him plunging and dived after him. He screamed and nearly fell to his doom before Sisu lassoed her tail around his foot and pulled him back into the air. She then pranced around the island, bashing him against tower heads.

All the Heart survivors and their Fang captives looked up at her in admiration.

Tong, Boun, Noi and the Ongis stared at her in amazement. They couldn't believe she had returned to help them. Namaari still gagged and tied up saw it too.

Sisu with the bashed and bruised Krogan was over the sea. "It's over Krogan!" she roared. "This time I will make sure you never live again,"

"No. Please," Krogan implored with his painful voice.

But Sisu refused to change her mind.

"Kumandra will never be safe," Krogan said accepting his fate. "Others will come,"

Sisu stared at him, her eyebrows loosening. But they tightened again. "Whoever comes will face our wrath," She then dived underwater into the water dragging Krogan deep underwater. He would drown and this would become his watery grave.

The scene was shocking for everyone who had watched it. Hiccup was the most petrified. One of his greatest enemies was done for, gone for good. Raya rubbed his shoulders soothingly.

They watched as Sisu erupted out of the water and galloped over to them. She landed in front of them, anxiety shaping her face and squeezing her muscles tight. "Hi," was all she could greet them with.

They looked at her, not with faces of anger, but faces of vague surprise.

"I know I am the last creature you want to see right now," she spoke. "I returned here because you need me whether you see it or not,"

All the Heart survivors with their rounded-up Fang prisoners stared at Sisu, befuddled by her sudden appearance. Tong placed down Namaari and he and his friends stared over at her.

"I'm sorry for what happened to Toothless. And I'm sorry that I didn't think clearly," Sisu apologised.

Raya stepped forward. Although angry and teary at the same time, she was secretly relieved that Sisu was back. "Sisu…can you make this work?" she placed all the pieces on the floor. "We tried to do it but it didn't work. Please…please make it work" she clasped her hands together. "Please…please bring my ba back,"

Sisu looked down at her with sympathy.

Hiccup came forward and touched her shoulders. "Sisu if you can make it work once you can do it again. If you want to earn even the slightest bit of forgiveness for your part in Toothless's death, make it work,"

"I'm sorry," Sisu apologised remorsefully. "It doesn't work that way. Don't you remember what my story taught?"

Before Hiccup could speak up, fireballs shot from the sky. "We're under attack!" he screamed.

Sisu stared up and saw Singetails attacking from the sky.

Up in the air, the leader flyer pointed at Sisu. "Concentrate all fire on the water dragon!"

Sisu snarled. She was not going to let those men harm anyone. "Get everyone to safety!" she ordered.

"Sisu no," Raya refused.

"Just go. And guys…" Sisu implored them to listen. "Namaari was forced by Krogan to do his bidding. She was only protecting her tribe,"

"We know," Hiccup said straight. "But it doesn't excuse everything else she's done," he shook his head.

"I know. At least consider it. Now go!" Sisu made the sky rain and she galloped up into the sky. She breathed mist around all the flyers that attacked from the sky creating a barrier between them and the land below.

As they helped everyone out, Raya and Hiccup couldn't Sisu high in the sky.

"Does she know what she's doing?" Tong asked.

"I hope so," Raya prayed. She glared down at Namaari. "We know why you did what you did. It will be taken into consideration when you have your trial and face the crimes you've done to our lands,"

"Raya…please my mother is in there," Namaari implored. "She's in the dungeons!"

"Why should she rescue your mother?" Renata spat approaching her repulsively. "You're responsible for the petrification of our chief so you should experience what it's like to lose a parent,"

Namaari hung her head down in despondency and guilt. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry for everything! I wanted the Dragon Gem to benefit my lands! I allowed my envy of your lands to cloud my mind! And in doing so I ruined everything Chief Benja wanted to bring into this world!"

"Was Virana a part of this?" Raya questioned, crossing her arms.

Namaari felt tempted to lie but Raya's rageful face made her sigh. "Yes. But it was I who suggested and volunteered to use you to get the Dragon Gem. Punish me but not her for my crimes,"

No one said anything after that. How could they trust her words after everything she had done?

Up above, Sisu used the mist to hide from the Flyers. She whipped them off their Singetails and even glowed brighter to make them cover their eyes and fall off their saddles from the impact.

Everyone up above watched her in admiration as she protected them. Hiccup and Raya were awestruck.

Sisu finished off the final Flyer and tossed him into the river off the island. The final Flyer. It was done for. She had saved everyone.

Unknown to them, just on the shore of the mainland, a shadowy figure readied a harpoon. He aimed it carefully at Sisu's turned back. Then he pressed a lever.

Sisu stared down at her friends. They looked at her with admiration. She felt hope flying in her heart, that perhaps she would be forgiven. Suddenly she felt a sharp spear pierce her in the back right behind her heart. The air left her lungs and her heart stopped. She lost consciousness and fell.

"No!" Hiccup and Raya cried.

Using the distraction, Namaari kicked Boun in the stomach and he fell back. She stood up though was still bounded. Renata noticed and tried to restrain her but Namaari flipped and as she did, her ropes were sheathed by Renata's slashing sword. Instantly she took off with Renate and her sons on her tail.

Hiccup and Raya were too distracted by the events to notice her escape.

Sisu with the arrow in her back plunged into the water. Dead. The last dragon was dead. Gone forever.

"No," Raya breathed out in tears.

Hiccup was speechless. He couldn't speak again. He turned to Raya and saw her quivering. She looked like she was about to fall. She did. He caught her in his arms and she started to sob. Hiccup wanted to grieve but to his horror, he saw the water drying out, disappearing…as if it wasn't there before.

"What's…happening?" Boun feared.

Tong picked up Noi. "I don't know. It appears that with the last water dragon gone, so too goes the water. Now there's nothing to stop the Drunn from coming. Nothing,"

True to his words, clouds of Druun were impeding on Fang Island. With no defence, the island was vulnerable. And so was everyone still on it.

"We have to get out of here!" Hiccup shouted. He noticed Namaari was gone. "Where's Namaari?"

They heard panting and saw Renata and her sons rushing up to them.

"She escaped. She retreated into the palace. The guards are surrounding it!"

"Forget about her! We need to get everyone off this island!" Raya alerted. She didn't care about revenge now.

"Everyone come on!" Quickly Hiccup tossed everyone a gem piece and together they split up.

Instantly they proceeded to evacuate everyone as quickly as possible. Tuk-Tuk arrived on the scene much to Raya's delight along with Sharpshot and Smokey.

Renata addressed the soldiers who had rounded up the people of Fang. They didn't mean them any harm but they couldn't allow them to intervene with their goal. "People of Fang! You will be treated with mercy! If you want to live you must leave with us!"

"Where is our chief?!" a woman clutching her daughter demanded.

"Your chief is in the palace! As is your princess!"

"Save them or we will not go with you!" a father shouted.

Raya appeared next to her heart. Her muscles tightened hearing Fang's people demand their chief be rescued. No matter how much she wanted Namaari to be punished and for her to suffer the same way she had done for six years, a part of her told her that it wasn't what her father would have wanted. She made her choice.

"Luong! Phuoc! Make sure Namaari and her mother are delivered out of the palace!"

"But Raya…" Phuoc tried to say.

"Have you forgotten what they did to us? To your father?" Luong was outraged at her decision.

"No. I will never forgive them for what they did. But if we allow them to be petrified, it would make us no different from them," Raya spoke wisely. Renata supported her decision with a pat on the shoulder.

"Your mother would be so proud of you," Renata looked at her sons. "Trust her boys,"

Phuoc and Luong could see the selflessness in Raya's wisdom and they nodded. They sped off.

"I'll go with them," Hiccup volunteered. He attempted to run off but Raya grabbed his hand.

"Come back to me," she begged. She kissed him quickly.

He blushed for a second, then nodded. Together he and the boys headed off whilst Raya remained behind to help everyone evacuate. To their horror, the Druun had arrived on the island but luckily they still had the dragon gem pieces.

Hiccup and Raya's cousin rushed into the palace along with the Heart soldiers.

"Virana's most likely being held in the dungeons," Hiccup suggested. "But search everywhere!"

They rushed off in separate directions.

Namaari dashed down into the dungeons. Two Flyers guarded her mother's cell. She sneaked by and then headbutted the guards together.

"Namaari!" her mother gasped.

"I'm here mother," Namaari unlocked the cell. "Krogan is dead. But Sisu's gone too," Once the cell was open, Virana threw her arms around her. She hugged her back. "I'm so sorry mother. I let you. I let all of Fang down. The Druun are closing in on Fang,"

"No, it is I who let you down. I was so hard on you for no reason. And I never should have trusted Krogan in the first place,"

"We must leave now," Namaari pulled her out of the dungeon. They rushed through the doors and corridors. They were about to reach an open passageway when a figure appeared in their sight. It was Hiccup.

"Hiccup…" Namaari became scared.

A frowning Hiccup lit his sword.

"If you and Raya have harmed our people…" Virana threatened.

"Your people are safe," Hiccup spoke. "Now come on! Both of you will be on trial for your crimes…but your people will be treated with mercy. That I give you on my word,"

He stepped aside and pointed his sword ahead. "Move. Now,"

Namaari clutching her mother's hand tightly walked past Hiccup who glared at her with rage and vengeance.

He escorted them towards the entrance. As they made their way, they felt the ground shaking and pieces of debris falling from the ceilings. It was time to leave now. A squadron of Heart soldiers awaited them. The cousins hadn't arrived yet.

"Go!" he ordered the soldiers with their prisoners.

Hiccup searched frantically for Phuoc and Luong. Time was running out quicker every second.

"Hiccup!" It was Phuoc's voice "Hiccup!"

Hiccup followed the source of the sound to a wide corridor with cracking columns. "Luong was trapped under some debris!" Quickly he sprinted over and together he and Phuoc heaved a heavy piece of brick off Luong who cried in pain; his leg was broken. Hauling their arms over their necks, they carried him wearily towards the palace gates.

"Go! Go!" Raya begged her people with Fang's citizens to leave and be safe. They had managed to keep the Druun at bay using the gem pieces. She turned her head towards the palace entrance which seemed quite far away even though it was a short distance. She saw Namaari and her mother being escorted down by her guards but there were no signs of Hiccup or her cousins.

"Where are they?" Boun next to her was scared.

Sharpshot and Smokey purred worriedly. The Ongis petted them for comfort.

Raya cheered with joy when she saw them appear in view. Her smile dropped when she saw Luong wounded and being carried by them. "Luong's wounded!"

Renata gasped.

"Go with the others Aunt! We'll get the others! Go with her Tuk-Tuk and Sharpshot and Smokey!"

The devoted companions were reluctant. But they nodded.

"We'll be fine!" Raya assured. They turned around and left through the gates with Renata hoping they would be back with their friends shortly "Come on guys!" Raya sprinted towards the palace, her friends right behind her.

But as they did, the ground rumbled and cracked causing fractures to appear. It began splitting apart.

Virana and Namaari and their captives fell off their feet as the ground started to come apart.

Hiccup and Phuoc struggled to gain their balance and keep hold of Luong so he wouldn't be further injured.

"Steady!" he cried. "Steady!"

"Just leave me!" Luong begged. "Save yourselves!"

"No way brother! No one gets left behind!" Phuoc refused. He and Hiccup nearly stumbled but Hiccup managed to help them regain balance. They cautiously but quickly rushed as fast as they could across the cracking floor.

Raya saw them in trouble and attempted to rush over to help. But as she did, fractures began to form and she saw Virana, Namaari and the Heart Soldiers fall into the darkness below. "No!"

Hiccup realised a fracture was forming right underneath him and his friends. He spotted a bit of ground that was stable and wasn't in danger of sinking. With all his strength, he pushed Luong against Phuoc and they both tumbled backwards onto the stable bit of ground. But he was sinking quickly.

"Hiccup!" Raya cried. She leapt to grab his hand but the ground cracked and Hiccup fell into the darkness below with Virana, Namaari and the Heart soldiers. "No!"

"Raya watch out!" Boun shouted behind her. Raya felt the ground shake again. Another section cracked and she felt herself falling after Hiccup, Tong, Boun, Noi and the Ongis fell behind her.

She felt her body crash against the level below with a painful thud. She lost her grip on her gem piece. She bashed her head but she managed to stay awake. She groaned in discomfort but managed to stand up, coughing from the dust that was stinging her eyes. She saw nothing but almost-total darkness around her. "Hiccup! Hiccup!" she cried out. "Hiccup!"

To her horror, she heard loud screeching. Druun were appearing everywhere. Coughing out more dust and her lover's name, she searched desperately for him and their friends. She heard screeching. The Drunn were impeding on them. She steered her head searching. Her eyes enlarged. She saw Hiccup. She would not lose him too. "Hiccup…." she sprinted to and knelt beside him, lifting his head onto her lap. "Are you okay? Come on! Wake up! Wake up! Don't go!" Their situation grew worse. A Drunn was coming towards them. "Come on! Wake up! Wake up! We gotta get out of here!

Hiccup's eyes flickered. They slowly opened. "Raya?"

Raya sighed in relief but she knew there was no time to celebrate. "Come on! Get up! We've gotta get out of here!" she helped Hiccup onto his feet. But as she did, a Drunn was about to engulf them. Raya covered Hiccup with her body but a painful screech rung behind them. They turned around to see the Drunn cloud had been scared away. Looking ahead they saw Namaari with Raya's gem piece and her own. She tossed it to Raya with a straight glance. She caught it. They stared at her in surprise. She looked tearful...as if something tragic had just happened.

Staring around Hiccup saw a white-sleeved arm. "Raya,"

Raya twisted her head and gasped. She knew exactly who lay under the pile of rocks from which that arm was attached too.

"Guys!" It was Boun's voice. "Sisu's magic! It's…it's almost gone!

"They aren't backing off!" Tong cried.

"They're everywhere!"

Turning around, the three saw everyone else trying to scare away the Druun but they wouldn't back away. There was enough energy in the pieces to keep those monsters from petrifying them but not enough to scare them away completely.

"What do we do?" Hiccup freaked out. "Raya! What do we do?!"

Still keeping her gem piece from petrifying them, Raya remained lost for words. Her hope was dying along with Sisu. She felt her foot touch something small and hard. She bent and found Namaari's dragon pendant. She picked it up, thinking of Sisu, how they were now drowning in a sea of Drunn like she and her siblings were all those centuries ago.

I don't know why they chose me. She saw a vision of her Sisu and her siblings gave her the dragon Gem to save the world. Her words from her story echoed in her head. It could have been any of us. All I know is I trusted them, and they trusted me. And so…

Hope flew into Raya's heart. "Quick! Everyone, give me your gems. We can still put it together. It can still work.

"Sisu's gone, Raya! We don't have her magic!" Boun cried out.

It's not about her magic. It's about trust.

"What?!" Hiccup and Namaari asked simultaneously.

"That's why it worked. That's why we can do it, too. By doing the one thing Sisu wanted us to do. What my ba wanted us to do. To finally trust each other and fix this. But we have to come together!"

"Raya! What if it doesn't work as it did before!" Hiccup didn't want to doubt her at all but he just see Sisu's story the way Raya had discovered that very moment. "We have to focus on getting out of here! So we don't lose each other! We've lost enough!"

Looking into his wet eyes again, Raya stared deeper into his spirit. And found recognition. "It has to be you Hiccup!"

Hiccup was struck. "What? Why me?"

"Because of the person you are! If there's anyone who deserves to use this power it's you! You are the sweetest, kindest, most passionate person I've ever met! You put the well-being of others before your own and you would gladly give your life without hesitation! You convinced me to trust people who I didn't know at first!"

"But I can't…I…I…I don't believe in myself. How could I be the one who can do this?! I'm not from Kumandra! I'm nobody!"

Raya turned to everyone else and saw blank expressions on their faces. They were not sure at all that this could work. A grief-stricken Namaari in particular didn't think so either. "Then let me take the first step," she spoke. She stepped forward and she placed the jewel in his hand, gripping it tightly. Hiccup looked up at her. She then smiled, releasing a tear and she leaned forward and kissed him, holding his cheek. Hiccup held her cheek too.

Everyone stared at them. Except for Namaari, this wasn't the first time they kissed but this kiss was filled with passion and devotion. Namaari stared wide-eyed at them. She never thought anyone from Kumandra would fall for a stranger from a distant land. From the moment she first encountered Hiccup, she thought he was just a threat to their land, but now that she was witnessing her rival and him sharing a passionate kiss, she finally began to see the goodness that had been inside him all along.

Raya pulled back. She gave one last glance of confidence into Hiccup's eyes. She then stepped back.

"Raya! No!"

But with one last encouraging smile, Raya stood back further and allowed the Drunn to engulf her. She was now a statue.

Hiccup's lips parted in shock. So did everyone else's.

A tear escaped Hiccup's eye.

Sharing glances with Tong, Boun came forward and he passed Hiccup his gem piece. It glowed. Hiccup then watched Boun as he joined Raya. Next, it was Noi and Tong. They each gave Hiccup their gem pieces, giving him reassuring smiles. He could now feel deep faith and belief flowing into him like never before. Even though he wasn't one of them and he didn't have any special abilities or wasn't as strong as them, they believed in him because of the person he was. He watched in horror as the duo and the Ongis gave him one last reassuring glance before they turned to stone too. All that was left was Namaari. They stared at each other. Hiccup didn't know what to feel. Trust. Or rage. After all, she had killed his dragon 'accidentally' but had saved him and Raya. Some rocks fell nearby leaving a gap. Namaari looked like she was about to run. But she didn't. Hiccup stared at her, uncertain whether she would escape or she would give him the piece. Instead, she gave him the piece. Looking at the gem pieces in his hands, he saw how bright they glowed. He settled the gem pieces down on a block of debris and placed them together.

He looked at her. "We do this together," he told her boldly. "Don't waste,"

Namaari nodded. He helped her arrange the pieces. Their glow brightened. Hiccup sighed in relief hoping this was going to work. But to his shock, the glow died out and the Dragon Gem was nothing more than a fractured orb of dead glass. It was done for.

Choosing to make his last stand with the people who believed in him, the people who had shown him love and compassion, Hiccup stood in front of Raya's statue and hugged it tightly. He felt a cold touch engulf his body before turning to stone.

Namaari couldn't believe what she was watching. She had another chance to run but instead, she stood with Raya and touched her other shoulders. She turned to stone.

The Drunn clouds left the group of petrified friends who had stood together as a family one last time and their rival who had helped Hiccup arrange the pieces. It seemed that it had failed.

Another chapter is done. This is perhaps the longest one I've written. So sorry this took long. I really hope you all enjoyed it a lot. Please send reviews and let me know what you all thought. Who do you all think shot Sisu out of the sky? What did you all think of Krogan's certain death? How did you all like how I played Namaari and Virana in this? I would love to see your comments. Thank you so much everyone for your support. It means the world to me. Only about two chapters to go and then it's done haha! See you all soon.
