Inuyasha stood in his full height glaring down at the raven haired beauty before him. He sort of hated that Kagome looked like Kikyo. It was hard for him to look at her at times but he also really loved that Kagome was a completely different person compared to Kikyo. He loved both girls in their own way. Though it's not like he was going to just pick one to spend the rest of his life with. There were more pressing matters to deal with right now.
"Inuyasha not now, my cousin's here." Rolling his eyes he crossed his arms over his chest glaring harder at the girl before him. "What's that got to do with anything?" That didn't make any sense why should it matter if she had her...what was it cousin? What the heck was a cousin? But what does it matter if her cousin was there.
"She doesn't know about what we do. She has no idea what we do! She has no idea what you even are Inuyasha!" That seemed to anger him, was she ashamed of him that she wouldn't even talk about him to her fancy cousin.
"Oh so she's not good enough to even know about me now!?" Mrs. Higurashi glanced at the two and sighed "Kagome, I think now would be best to explain to Lucy what you and Inuyasha do." Frowning, she nodded, taking Inuyasha by the scruff of his sleeve and moving towards the family room where she could hear Lucy and Sota yelling.
"Dude you're such a little cheat!" Kagome could hear Lucy yell in the other room. "No way, you just suck." A disgruntled growl escaped the room and a loud Hey before Kagome entered the room. On the floor was her younger brother and older cousin. Her cousin had her arm outstretched trying to throw off Sota's game while she kept glancing back and forth between the controller in her hand.
The two were so focused on the game at hand they didn't even bother to glance up at the two newcomers. The two's scores were close together it was obvious one of them would win and soon. "Uh guys?"
"Not now Gome, I gotta kick your brothers butt." Lucy called grinning to herself "No way! You're totally going down Lucy!" Inuyasha stared at the two confused. He played with Sota once on this game thing but it wasn't that fun. It didn't make any sense to him, then again nothing in this future era made sense to him.
Sota's cheers and taunts echoed around the room "In your face! I told you, you just suck!" Sota cheered victoriously "Oh I let you win you little midget! There's no way you could actually beat me at Street Fighters!"
"But I just did! You just are not as good as me and everyone knows it!" He jumped to his feet victoriously pointing a finger in Lucy's face. "One day you'll be just as good as me Luce but that won't happen for a couple years."
"Say that again you limp noodle! I'll make you eat those words!" She yelled, jumping to her feet about to chase Sota when she noticed Kagome wasn't alone. A tall white haired male with dog ears on his head and a red traditional japanese garb. Lucy squinted confused staring at the male "Dude...that's some awesome cosplay." she smiled "Inuyasha!" Lucy's eyes widened and a smirk grew across her face as she stared at Kagome. "So this is Inuyasha hmm?"
Kagome flushed looking away. "Luce he isn't cosplaying." Sota smiled reaching up, grabbing Inuyasha's hand. "What?" Sota laughed at her confused face "Come on no guy can have cat ears and pure white hair. I thought you weren't allowed to dye your hair in Japan."
Inuyasha took great offence at the term cat ears. "I'm not a damn cat damn it! Who the hell are you anyway. We need to go Kagome so you either tell her or we're going!" Kagome glared at the male. "I'm trying. Look Lucy I didn't really tell you the full truth earlier. I travel back in time to Early Japan with Inuyasha."
Lucy stared at Kagome like she was crazy but she looked completely serious, glancing around the room Sota was nodding his head and Inuyasha just looked annoyed. "I know it's hard to believe but Inuyasha and I are collecting shards of the shikon jewel that shattered." Lucy couldn't believe what she was hearing, was that even possible.
"Okay start from the top." Kagome spoke quickly as she retold her tale explaining how she tripped into the well the first time and how she first traveled back. Her meeting of Inuyasha, the breaking of the jewel and where it came from, to now. How her and a few friends were hunting the shards and trying to defeat a demon called Naraku and how he was the reason Inuyasha was pinned to the tree in the first place.
The entire time Kagome spoke she watched her cousin. She had her arms crossed over her chest, her face expressionless, she didn't ask questions, she just stood there and listened until she was done. Kagome was scared that her best friend, her cousin wouldn't believe her and would call her crazy. Or she would just get mad and never talk to her again. "Lucy?"
"Well that's quite a story and…" Kagome feared for the worst, she never cared about what anyone else thought about her story but Lucy, she really cared about what she thought. "I believe you." shock wrapped around Kagome's being as she stared at her. She didn't think Lucy would ever believe her!
She had that beautiful smile on her face as she stared at her younger cousin. "One problem though has anyone else besides Inuyasha ever tried to come with you?"
Kagome frowned, glancing at her younger brother "Well no, not exactly." Kagome never wanted her family to try and follow her into the well in fear that they would end up getting hurt or worse killed.
Lucy grinned deviously, her hands twitching with excitement "Wanna try?"
Kagome couldn't say anything before she found her hand being yanked and the two were running out the house towards the well house."Wait Lucy you don't want to…" Lucy had already dragged them inside and down the steps, her words were going through deaf ears. She felt her body being lurched over the edge of the well and the familiar feeling of floating spread across her.
Kagome landed softly on the ground on the other side of time. "Whoa! Thats fucking awesome!" Kagome's head whipped to the side staring at Lucy shocked "Do you always feel like you're floating in a body of water?"
Lucy looked up her grin growing as soon as she saw the clear blue sky. "This is so fucking cool. How do you get out?" Kagome shockingly pointed to one of the few vines growing down into the well. "Cool!"
Kagome and Lucy made their way to the top of the well, Kagome still couldn't believe that this had happened. Someone else besides her was able to come to the Feudal Era! Her shock started to change to worry. If Lucy was here then she was in danger. She didn't believe in demons or anything like that. She couldn't protect herself!
"Kagome this is awesome! The air smells so fresh and there's a freaking forest!" Starting to shake Kagome rushed forward grabbing Lucy by the hands. Her hands trembling as she tried to form words.
Lucy frowned at her younger cousin. She was shaking and acting like something really bad was going to happen. "Y-you need to go back. I-I don't...I couldn't…" tears were streaming down her face now. Lucy reached her hands up grasping the girls face "Gome, call down. Deep breaths alright? Deep breaths."
Inuyasha jumped from the well to see that Kagome was crying and the strange girl was holding his friends face. Kagome looked like she was having a painic attack. Getting on the defense Inuyasha looked around checking to see if there were any new demons in the area but all he smelled was the lingering scent of Shippo.
"I don't want you to get hurt! You need to go back and stay with Mom, Grandpa, and Sota!" she sobbed leaning forward hugging the girl tightly. "Kagome listen to me." she spoke softly petting the raven haired girls' hair comfortingly. "I'm not leaving you. Not that I don't trust Inuyasha to take care of you but there is no way that I'm going back and just going to forget that my baby cousin is risking her life every day. College be damned. I never applied for classes yet so I'm free. I'm staying to help you. After what you told me about Naraku I'll make sure he rots in hell."
Kagome sniffled listening to her cousin's speech. "I'm tougher than I look. Let me help you." She asked not only Kagome but Inuyasha, locking eyes with the golden eyed male she saw him squint suspiciously at her. "No thanks, we don't need any more weak humans slowing us down." the male snapped. "Too bad. If my momma couldn't talk me out of getting a tattoo then you sure as hell can't tell me I cant help my baby cousin."
Kagome pulled back wiping her face free of tears "I'd love for you to come with me but I don't want you to get hurt on my expense…"
"Who cares. Maybe I was destined to find out about the well and I'm supposed to help you. So think of it as fate bringing us here together! Or maybe the gods think you need my help."
"What gods?" Inuyasha scoffed at the question at hand. "Any of them. Greek, Roman, Christianity, hindu, Norse, any of them! You don't know thats why I say it's fate! If it's Greek we gotta be sure it's not from Zeus."
A giggle escaped the girls chest as she stared at the older girl. "Okay…" Lucy grinned nodding her head "Great! Now lets go back to Auntie and grab a bag so we can be prepared." Kagome and Lucy walked past a fuming Inuyasha "I told you no. We don't need any more pesky humans slowing us down. The only reason Kagome has to come is because she can sense the jewel shards."
Both girls growled at the male. "Inuyasha…"
"You think you can talk about my baby cousin like that and get away with it?! Who the bloody hell do you think you are talking down to her like that! Kagome is the best thing to ever go near you. Disrespect her again and I'll cut your dick off in your sleep and shove it down your throat so you can choke on it!"
Kagome blushed at her cousin's choice of words, a ghost of a smile growing on her face after just being insulted. "As if you'd get the chance you weakling. You'd be dead before you even got the chance to touch me."
"You have to sleep eventually! Or would you prefer I get the help from some seals and torture you slowly. I can make your life incredibly miserable." she warned a fire in her eyes that showed no mercy. "Don't talk down to my family." she snarled. Inuyasha could feel a powerful aura coming off the girl in waves. He wasn't sure what it was but he didn't like it.
Turning back to her cousin Lucy grinned like nothing had happened. "Ready Gome?" At her cousin's nod Kagome and Lucy jumped back in the well leaving Inuyasha stunned. He waited for a good thirty minutes by the well till the girls returned talking about something he didn't really care about.
As soon as the girls were out Inuyasha started making his way to the village not bothering to talk to the girls. He was still mad at this Lucy character and he didn't want to piss off Kagome any more than she already was. He really didn't want to get sat anytime soon.
The villagers stared in shock at the new comer, they were used to Kagome being dressed in her tiny kimono but this woman that was traveling with Kagome was dressed completely opposite of lady Kagome. She was dressed in a Purple long sleeve t-shirt and black leggings that stopped around the middle of her calf fit with a pair of sneakers that looked a little worn out but were super comfy. She carried a black backpack filled with medicine, four books, two changes of clothes, feminen supplies, her medication, and a few other things she might need in the past.
Lucy grinned, she couldn't believe this all was real and that she was here right now. Maybe the gods were real and wanted her to protect her baby cousin? Or perhaps the adventure she craved was actually this. She just knew she was ready for anything!
Hey there! Thanks for reading! So I wasn't sure how to put Kagome when it came to a family member coming to the Feudal Era, I wanted her to have a little break down in fear of all that she goes through and it all comes out at once when the thought of her cousin getting hurt. Also I think Kagome can be a little too emotional at times but thats not always a bad thing! I promise more will happen later in chapters but for now she's just exploring the area and going on travels!
