Lucy slowly got used to her new life in the past. They hadn't encountered any real dangers as of yet, well that's not true. They encountered a few demons but nothing too powerful. The first time Lucy saw a demon she freaked out. "Oh my god! What is that thing?!"

The creature was a green slimy color and had this horrible stench that just made her want to projectile vomit all over the road. It wanted a shard of the Shikon Jewel "It's a demon obviously." Inuyasha let out a sigh shaking his head quickly disposing of the demon. Lucy felt her eye twitch as she saw all the blood and guts staining on the ground.

Her stomach twisted in disgust. "Gross…" she muttered softly hoping no one could hear her. She didn't want to seem weak but she just wasn't sure she would be able to get used to the sight of guts. Back home she only ever saw guts this realistic in a movie.

Seeing them in real life made the girl feel like her stomach was flipping, it looked gray and dead but whatever it looked like in real life you could see the blood and whatever was inside the intestine start to empty out on the grass. "You aren't going to faint are you?" Inuyasha's harsh tone brought Lucy out of her thoughts.

"I'm fine." turning away from the bloody organ Lucy started walking down the path they were going. "Are you sure? We could take a break if you'd like?"

"Nope I'm fine, lets go." Inuyasha smirked, he liked that she wasn't bothered or rather he liked that she was willing to push forward instead of pass out like a weakling. Over the past few days she'd been training and pushing herself harder and harder. Sure he could see her growing weaker as she grew stronger but she didn't try to stop or rest. She was much more stubborn than Kagome could be.

"Uh Kagome…" Sango pushed looking towards her best friend "I'm a little worried about Lucy...she's not um, how do I put this, is she okay?"

Looking ahead at her cousin Kagome watched her reading a book with one hand, she glanced up to check if she would run into Inuyasha then went back to her book. Kagome felt a little jealous, Lucy and Inuyasha were spending a lot of time together and were actually getting along compared to how they first met. Was he starting to like her cousin more than her now?

Great now she was jealous of her older cousin. Ugh what was wrong with her, she shouldn't be jealous of Lucy. Maybe Lucy and Inuyasha were just friends, better friends than how they were when they first met. That wouldn't be too bad.

"Will you get your nose out of that book already?" Inuyasha grumbled glaring at the girl beside him. "Why're you reading anyway?" When her brilliant blue eyes locked onto Inuyasha's form she smirked at his annoyed expression. "Well you're not exactly king of conversation."

Looking back at her book Lucy smiled flipping to the next page when hearing his scoff Lucy continued. "Besides this is one of my favorite series. Sure Tolkien can be difficult to read because the guy can totally go on for pages on a single tree but he built an amazing world where more than half the world had read or seen the movies. And those who haven't already know about Lord of the Rings because it's so iconic. It's very popular back in America because we love our adventure stories."

Miroku stepped into the conversation "I see, this Tokin fellow he created a story so well known that it inspired you to be an adventurer."

Giggling at the male beside her Lucy nodded "It's Tolkien but yes, I've always loved the idea of travel and having my own adventure. I thought it was going to be me moving to Japan for school but after hearing about what Kagome does it was more like I needed to come help her if I could. Also a little selfish reason for adventure. Sorry Gome,"

Kagome smiled; she wasn't even surprised. From her letters and hours of phone calls she had a feeling that was one of the reasons her cousin decided to join, 'Lord of the Rings' was one of her favorite stories Kagome couldn't even begin to tell how many conversations they've had about it. So shaking her head a bubble of laughter escaped her. "I knew it!"

Lucy snickered sticking her tongue out at her little cousin "Oh hush you love me. Anyway Inuyasha, why does it bother you if I read and walk? You're leading us aren't you?"

"You should be aware of your surroundings incase another demon attacks stupid."

Rolling her eyes again Lucy shoved her book back in her backpack promising it she'd read it later. "Happy now?"

Nodding Inuyasha and Lucy continued their walk in the front, Kagome's jealousy started to resurface once again watching the two mingle. Shippo and Sango glanced at one another noticing their friend's sour mood. They decided not to say anything now, possibly Sango would take Kagome over to a hot spring when they set up for camp so they could talk. Something Sango had come to really appreciate with their friendship.

Three months had passed since that moment and Kagome continued to have fits of jealousy whenever Lucy engaged with Inuyasha the two were even closer than before! If they weren't out training, Lucy was cracking jokes with the half demon. They acted almost like they were best friends!

Inuyasha didn't even ask her to jump on her back anymore when it came to running, he'd offer it to Lucy first! Kagome was always stuck riding with Miroku and Sango, not that she didn't love her friends, she just missed how it used to be just them.

Sango had to listen to her rant over and over again about how she felt like her older cousin was replacing her. "Kagome maybe you should talk to her. She is your family it might be better to air it out between you."

Frowning, Kagome sank lower in the water. Kagome was beyond happy that Lucy had opted out of going to the hot springs, saying she would start dinner for them. "But can't you see she's trying to replace me."

Sango frowned confused. From her entire encounter with Lucy, it didn't seem like the older girl was trying to replace Kagome at all. She just seemed like she wanted to be useful to their small group. Sango had said something along these lines before yet Kagome would not listen, she was so clouded with jealousy that she couldn't seem to listen to reason. Sango was worried for her best friend.

"I don't believe Lucy is trying to replace you, Kagome." Sango started staring off at the front of the group watching the girl chase Shippo around the camp area squealing that she's going to get him. "She grew accustomed to our small group fast but I doubt she would try to replace you." Sango knew out of anyone in this world that would try to replace Kagome it would be Kikyo, but it's not like they would allow anything like that to happen.

"I'm going crazy aren't I?" Kagome moaned, wanting the water to swallow her up right this moment her jealousy was really getting to her. Again. "I'm sorry Sango,"

The older girl smiled at her best friend giving the younger girl a hug "It's okay just speak to her, she is your family." Kagome nodded, she would probably end up having to talk to her eventually, she wasn't sure what to do at this moment.

The girls finished their bath and quickly returned to camp to find Shippo sitting in Lucy's lap, she was reading to him. Great now she was trying to steal Shippo from her too?! The only good thing Kagome could note was that Lucy looked like she needed to touch up her roots. Her natural black hair was sprouting from the top of her head.

It came to a big surprise to most of the group when they saw the blonde starting to sprout. She laughed and had to explain to the group apart from Kagome that she would dye her hair strange and different colors.

As soon as Sango and Kagome made themselves known, Shippo's eyes locked onto the raven haired teen. "Kagome!" he squealed, rushing to her side. "I got Lucy to read to me from her book like you do!" he exclaimed excitedly "I don't get most of it but it's interesting."

"Thats nice sweetie." Kagome called brushing some of his hair out of his emerald green eyes. Lucy glanced at Inuyasha confused. He only shrugged, not bothered by the girls mood swings having been completely used to her changes of behavior. "Hey Gome, can I talk to you for a sec?"

Kagome looked like she wanted to do anything but that. But from the hard shove from Sango she realized she had to. "Sure,"

The two girls walked back into the forest towards the hot springs to get some privacy. Kagome watched Lucy's hands grasp onto her fingers running over her scabs and bruises. "What happened to your arm?"

Blue eyes locked onto her left forearm before shrugging. "I was training with Inuyasha again. He's still way faster than I am...maybe I should start wearing ankle weights like Rock Lee?" she mumbled the last bit to herself. Shaking her head she faced Kagome who sat on one of the warm rocks. "Look I'm not stupid."

Kagome was confused at her cousin's comment. She didn't think the girl was stupid, she just hated that Inuyasha would rather spend time with Lucy than her. "I can see that you're upset with me, and maybe it's because we've been spending so much time together and we have roommate syndrome but tell me what I did wrong. All the glaring behind my back and hateful mutterings."

"I don't know what you're talking about." Kagome snapped, crossing her arms over her chest annoyed. Lucy held a blank look watching her cousin glare off to the side. "This is about Inuyasha isn't it."

Kagome's face flushed at his name, of course this was about Inuyasha. "Look Gome, I don't know what you think is going on, but it's not what you think. We're bros." Kagome sputtered at her older cousin's choice of words. "Seriously Inuyasha and I just train together and do guy shit. If anything I'm more into Sango, have you seen her she's so hot."

Kagome stared wide eyed at the girl. Her cousin was gay? "I mean think about it, I treat Inuyasha like one of my buddies back home. And the guy's head over heels in love with you. We talk about you a lot."

Her face grew red with embarrassment. She felt so stupid. "Is that why you don't bathe with us?" letting out a series of laughs Kagome watched Lucy hold her stomach giggling over her comment. "Sort of, I just don't think it's right to bath with her and make her feel uncomfortable. She's a good friend and I won't do anything to bother her, plus it's forbidden for women to be with women in this time period."

She wasn't wrong, it was very frowned upon for women to be interested in the same sex. She just couldn't believe her cousin was coming out to her. How long has she been this way? Has she always been gay? How has she never noticed? "Well… yes but…" Kagome watched Lucy shrug her shoulders with a content smile on her face.

"It's all good Gome, I have a feeling Sango's into Miroku anyway." Kagome wasn't sure what to say at this moment, everything was just so strange. Everything she thought she knew was wrong. "Now we cool? Or do I have to prove me and Inuyasha aren't doing anything scandalous." she wiggled her fingers at the word scandalous.

"As long as you're not going to replace me." Lucy's content smile vanished showing her blank face. Kagome gave off a nervous laugh watching the girl closely "Gome," her voice was deadly silent, sending a spike of fear through her core. "Y-yes?"

"You're an idiot."

Kagome let out a yelp covering her body from a series of attacks coming from her older cousin. "I'm sorry!" she cried feeling the womans fist slam into her head repeatedly "You stupid idiot what the hell do you mean replace you!? Are you insane! Why would I try to replace you! Thats the rudest thing you've ever said to me!"

"I'm sorry! I was just jealous and…"

"Obviously you were jealous. You think I didn't notice the death glares these past few months? Look Gome, I love you. I'm not trying to replace you or anything. I'm here to fucking help you. Idiot." Lucy grumbled walking away from her cousin. She couldn't believe she would think she's that insensitive!

Kagome moaned, holding her face ashamed with herself "I'm an idiot."

Lucy nodded in agreement "Yes, but you're my idiot. Lets go get dinner before Inuyasha eats all the Ramen." nodding in agreement Lucy and Kagome walked back to camp, Lucy's arm rested against the younger girl's shoulder, very happy that the whole dispute was done and over with.

The entire group was glad to see the two on better terms again. The rest of dinner was spent watching Inuyasha shovel ramen in his mouth and fighting with Shippo trying to get more like a big brother would. Lucy admitted that it was very cute and reminded her a lot of her family.

She missed them terribly. Maybe one day she'd get to see them again. Who knows, would they be proud of her? Of her actions? She hoped so. Reaching a hand up to her neck she smiled at Miroku as he was explaining sutras to her again. Her nails easily glided over a white star of a scar over her shoulder.

'Yeah, they'd be proud.' she laughed at her new friend group.

The entire mood of the group changed when Inuyasha shot to his feet gripping onto his tetsusaiga growling into the distance. Kagome had let out a gasp of surprise "I sense two jewel shards approaching fast!"

"Damn wolf doesn't know how to stay away." Inuyasha grumbled preparing end the wolfs life once and for all. "It would seem you are going to meet Koga of the Wolf Tribe."

Koga of the Wolf tribe? "Wolf tribe?!" Lucy squeaked, shooting to her feet. "Kagome you're an even bigger furry than I thought!"

Okay so sorry it took me forever to write this chapter, but here it is! Koga will finally be in the story and hopefully more. Man I love Koga, he was my first crush in the series. If only I could actually meet the demon *sigh* oh well it's not destined, unless someone can shift realities and knows how...If you can and have met Koga tell me what his interaction with you was like!

Anyway Love you all!
