Summary/Disclaimer: Time for another chapter of The Lioness and the Wolf. Enjoy the 2000-Word chapter. I don't own AGK, Takahiro, Square Enix and a few others do.

(Empire)

Jace had been curious as of the second. He was honestly convinced that there were too many soldiers on this. They had far too much at the second. They had a lot more at the time than this.

He crossed his arms and sighed to himself before he tilted his head for a second.

"Still waiting for the right second to attack and find out what the hell is going on?" Leone questioned to which Jace could only shrug. "We're not going to find anything here. That base has all the stuff we're going to need. You said it yourself. I'm not going to wait around forever." Leone questioned as of the second.

He tilted his head as of the time. There was too much on his mind for him to be bothered by simple things.

"What will happen when it comes to this. We need to crack this base at the moment. Anything else isn't going to lead us to Matias, not the dead soldiers, not the logs in the base. The only way to hunt him down." Jace stated before he crossed his arms across his chest.

"What is going to be happening will be we crack some heads; we find this thing and then we get going." Leone stated before she rubbed at her temples. "We need to get going anyway. This is going to be horrible either way. The sooner we get in? The sooner we get out." Leone questioned before she smiled to herself.

He was honestly curious as to what she had done next. This was going to be insane, but he didn't expect anything else. It would be more insane than anything else. A lot harder than he expected it to be.

He rubbed at his temples, curious if Leone had been insane to a degree, it'd make enough sense to him considering the lack of thought for her own life. She had been happy enough to throw herself into the fray. It had been a lot more… Curious to him.

He was going to be hopeful, trusting that she could handle this self-given mission. If she couldn't hold them off long enough for him to swipe the plans? They'd be once again at a crossroads and it wouldn't bode well for the attempts to stop.

He was going to be interested in what to do next. He's going to be interested as of the second, he was a lot more curious as to what was to come if they hadn't been in this position.

Matias was a monster. He wasn't a soldier; he was a sniveling rat who had been at the mercy of his ambitions. They weren't going to win this at the second, it wouldn't end anytime soon.

"You're worried entirely about the soldiers getting in the way? The soldiers whom we've cut through like butter?" Leone questioned to which Jace nodded before he tilted her head as of the second.

"Yes, there's a lot more on the line than just racking up kills. You think I don't like fighting these soldiers?" Jace asked while he tilted his head to the side more. "Because I do, but we're not going to win that easy. Trust me, Matias can find more soldiers, he always seems to find a way out of this." Jace stated before he sighed to himself before he crossed his arms

There was so much wrong with it. He rolled his eyes, well aware of what would happen if they failed. He didn't want to try anything, but if they didn't? Well, all that blood would end up on his hands either way.

"We're not here just to kill people. If you feel like doing that? Go nuts, I'm not going to let them win this battle, not without a fight." Jace stated as he sighed and slowly started to stand up.

There was more to come. A lot more, the war wouldn't wait for him, nor anyone else. He couldn't let them simply back down and let the enemy steamroll the entire place if there was even a chance, they could attempt to pull a victory out of this.

'People died; I need to make sure this wasn't for nothing at the moment. I can't keep trying to drag this fight out, there needs to be a silver lining or I'm going to snap in half before this is all said and done.' Jace thought to himself as he sighed to himself and glanced around the room.

Jace rubbed at his temples before he leaped down into the battlefield. There was going to be hell to pay, either way, the only way they could stop would be not to even bother to try the damn game. It would be too much for them either way.

Leone slunk off, her claws seeming to rip into the metal as if it were tinfoil. He questioned what the hell would happen, but he'd handle it either way. He couldn't waste time trying to convince himself to save her, no. He had to fight either damn way, the sooner he accepted she was a trained soldier and assassin who was fine on her own? The better.

'If she dies, I can worry about her. She's already almost been shot to death once, once more isn't going to break anyone's heart anytime soon.' Jace thought to himself as he slowly began to sneak around.

There had been new reinforcements. Perhaps they pulled more soldiers out and onto the battlefield. He couldn't tell, not at the moment at least. He sighed as he realized more and more and more how little this was going to end well. It had been a lot harder than he expected to handle this properly. A lot harder than that to deal with the insanity that had been all over this place and infested all of them. There was little reason for him to doubt her, but he still did become annoyed with how little she had been willing to listen to his plan and properly figure out how to stop this. The insanity that had been put on them was something that would make him want to scream if he hadn't already probably been a problem to every single thing around them. This had t to end sooner or later before someone ended up getting killed. The more trust she put into this plan, the more she seemed to want to hurt them all as of the second.

Still? There was going to need to be something that had been placated. She wanted to hunt, to put her claws into the enemy and cut them into pieces. This told her enough, that even as more soldiers had been threats, she wouldn't dare back down if it meant she could hunt.

"She better not die after I tried my hardest to get her back up and living," Jace muttered to himself while he sighed and slowly started to climb into the wreckage. This was going to end one way or another, there would be no excuses either way.

He sighed and shook his head, curious as to what the hell they had planned. There was little they could do to stop the enemy and Matias wasn't going to leave his army behind to do his dirty work, not without proper fighting. No, they'd be sure to attack them over and over again until they found some weakness that they'd exploit.

But he was also arrogant, stopping to cement his victories over his enemies. He had to gloat, had to crush them and feel the pathetic attempts at clinging to whatever power that they could maintain.

Still? If he could be used to bring down the enemy? He would, Matias had to be killed. He hadn't thrown away so much and fought this hard just to suffer the idea of another tyrant taking over from the woman who had ruled the empire. He had been ready for anything at the end of the day.

Jace sighed and shed his coat. He almost wondered what the idea of the garment had been at the time. then again? It had probably been something important and intelligent to a degree.

"We're going to die here, I'm honestly curious what she'll do if we do end up dying here. There's nowhere else to run and nowhere else to hide." Jace stated before he climbed onto another part of the hill. "We're not going to run through. Do they want to kill us? They can kill us in the rain and snow like the beasts they seem to think we are badly." Jace muttered aloud.

He chuckled to himself a second later. Only he would worry this much about someone who wasn't at all his concern if he wished to be when it came down to it. there was only so much that could be done when it came down to it. he hummed before he clicked his fingers together and steeled himself. this would either end tonight or not at all. Anything else was to be entirely horrid.

He heard the sounds of bones snapping and cutting. Leone probably killed at least 2 of the soldiers while he was busy planning this little monologue. He could only throw himself forward, too eager to quit and far too focused on little issues for anything else to stop him. He smiled to himself before slowly leaping down and into the base.

Leone tossed one of the soldiers into the air, smashing the gate that she had tossed him into a thousand pieces. It had made Jace pause only for a few minutes. The ideal of this had been a lot more amusing than he assumed. Still? There was only so much that could be said and done.

Then again? He probably guessed if he did so that she'd crash and burn into pieces. It wasn't as if he had a lot to say or do at the moment and this had to end sooner or later. There was only so much that could be done as of the second. He cracked his fingers before he hummed to himself and launched himself back onto the platform before he tilted his head.

Another soldier crashed into the wall next to him before he hummed to himself as he sighed and started to question what the hell was to happen to the mission. More was to be done sooner or later. A lot more. It had to be said and done before now or else nothing would matter. If that meant tearing a little here and a little there all down for the sake of something new?

Well? He'd work on it either damn way. The alternate could exactly surprise him at the moment and he hated that he'd damn well need to be trying something new and bold for the time being. if it was anything else? He'd damn well be trying it.

He sighed and ran a hand down his side before slowly looking in that direction. There was nothing he damn well hated more than the idea didn't at all sound that bad.

It wasn't like he wished to own this choice. It wasn't as if he hated the entire idea of it being silly. He damn well knows that there was probably a better option to handle this before now. it had been a little bit of tedious busywork that had to damn well be done before anything of real worth was lost. He could complain about it at a later date for the time being. there was just no better for the time being.
