Disclaimer: I don't own TVD

Sorry everything took so long. It was really hard for me to get this chapter right so I could move onto this next section. I knew that I wanted my characters to start getting rid of some of the VD antagonists and restructure TO. I don't just want to do a rehash of the shows because I also need to introduce my antagonists and find a way to slot the gods into the story since we need to find out why Phoebe was brought into the world and how the death of the Originals will lead to the end of the world. REVIEWS

Em: Sorry. That isn't what I meant. I don't think that Halloween and Dia de los Muertos are the same. Would you prefer it if I changed the name? the Day of the Dead in my story is on the same day as American Halloween, and it's called the day of the dead. I'll just go back and change it. Sorry.

MoonlightMiracle SakurianaHime: Here you go.

Mari Wollsch: Ask and you shall receive.

pandora59: Hello and welcome. Thank you for the reviews and I'm sorry I couldn't respond. My french isn't very good. Merci encors.

Blu3b3rryT3a: I agree. Witches in the show learn from their predecessors so young witches are taught the same prejudices as their teachers were taught so prejudiced against anything not a witch, or what they consider not of nature, so the cycle continues for thousands of years. As if they can truly know Nature's will or reasoning. Even Esther fell into the witch's pitfall that she warped her deed to protect her children to a wish to see them dead for her own actions, to absolve herself of her sins. She even forced her children to view their brother, Klaus, as an abomination, when everything that Klaus is is due to her infidelity. Jeez, I hate that woman. Thanks for reading.

LucyHeartFeelMeUp: I'm not character-bashing Bonnie. I actually really like her character but I'm not going to act like she doesn't have her flaws. 1) she's young and impressionable. Her emotions rule her which is why she was able to be manipulated by Sheila and the fear she felt from Matt and Ria. She didn't even want to use the black ash at first but she trusted Sheila and her fear controlled her to act. 2) Bonnie is young and doesn't know anything about the supernatural world. She instinctively feels threatened by Matt and Ria's greater power. That mixed with their dislike of Elena, who is her friend, causes her to clash with the Donovan siblings. 3) once again she's young. On the show, Bonnie awakened her magic at 16 after an argument about sweeping when she lit a car on fire and almost killed a cheerleader while in a trance. I'm just using the show's own scene to show Bonnie's fears and emotions controlling her. 4) Phoebe doesn't hate Bonnie either. I think I showed that well with how she caressed Bonnie's hair as she slept and laid her in bed and made sure Bonnie was still breathing. Her heart aches for Bonnie when she kills Sheila, knowing she will wake up to find her grams dead in her bed just as Phoebe had found granny Amy all those years ago. But everything Phoebe does is for her family's protection. She had to kill Sheila and take Bonnie's memories because she didn't want to kill Bonnie. I don't hate Bonnie but she's young and has character flaws so I'm using them to further my story.

You might then say that I'm Elena-bashing but that's not it either. Matt and Ria dislike Elena because they love their sister and Elena insulted someone they love and they're just not letting it go no matter how many times Elena apologizes. They feel like they would have failed their sister if they let go of their grudge against Elena. So they ignore her and don't talk to her. They were all friends before but as people grow up, they inevitably grow apart.

Misnis09: Welcome back. Sheila's death now will definitely have an impact on Bonnie in the future, especially since she doesn't have anyone to guide her with magic like she did in the show when the seal on her magic breaks. Sheila was also taken to Hades rather than the Other Side so she won't be able to communicate with Bonnie. I'm thinking of mixing and matching the seasons in canon.

Chapter 14 - In New York

Dear diary,

It's been a while since I've written a diary entry but here goes. After I killed the witch, my friends and family have mostly been avoiding me. Lora has been traveling a lot for business. She only contacts me by phone or video call to check in to see if I'm alright and tell me about new commissions she's received for my jewelry and glass art. Same with Jenna and Caroline, who's been spending most of her time with Bonnie and Elena as she prepares to leave for New York. Bonnie had always been Caroline's friend and of course, Caroline, the kind and soft-hearted girl that she is, would want to comfort her friend after she lost her grandmother.

On the other hand, I'm the one who had been avoiding Matt and Ria. I feel like I failed them somehow for allowing them to be in the position to be hurt by the witch in the first place. At the same time, I can't bear to touch them. I'm the older sister. I'm supposed to protect my siblings. I told them that their powers were only to protect themselves and that they should never take a life, and yet I killed the witch with my own two hands. I don't feel guilty or regretful to have killed the witch. I truly feel that it was necessary to protect my family. But I don't want my siblings to ever have to make the choice to take another person's life. I just don't know what I can say that will not make me seem like a hypocrite to them. Telling them not to do one thing before turning around and doing the same thing.

On another note, I've been emancipated. I'm officially an adult, which the judge happily granted since there're no records of my father and no one could find my mother to make her appear in court. I presented my tax reports to show the judge that I could take care of myself financially and Matt and Ria testified on my behalf that I had been responsible for the household since I was young. I was also able to get custody of my younger siblings also based on their testimony about the state of our household.

After everything, I felt like we needed a new start and decided to move my family to the Northeast. I needed a place without as many memories. A place where no one knows us or our past, where we can just disappear.

Jenna is still in Cambridge and Caroline is also moving to New York City. Matt and Ria also want to get out of Mystic Falls as they continue their recovery from the Blackshaw poison. And Lora thinks it will be better to move closer to a big city where our business will be able to reach more customers. So we packed our things and we're moving to the Big Apple.

June 20th, 2006

Or not. As it turns out, none of us liked the claustrophobic real estate of New York City so we decided to move somewhere nearby, just outside the city limits, without as many nosy neighbors, with plenty of extra land. We moved to Greenwich, Connecticut, just across the New York border, about an hour from Manhattan and about 20 minutes from New Rochelle, where Caroline started living with her aunt.

"Have I mentioned how totally awesome it is that you guys are rich?" Caroline said as we drove past the gate up the driveway to the front of the new house. Her eyes were glued on the house with the coral plaster with the beautiful emerald double doors. "Sorry, that was insensitive of me." The middle of the house was covered with gray stone masonry rather than plaster with a large arched french window above the door. Two wings jotted from the central part of the house in a stylized V-shape covered with red ceramic roof tiles.

"Don't worry about it, Care," I said as I parked at the front door. "Money means flexibility. I don't mind extorting old vampires for a portion of their wealth." Matt, Ria, Caroline, and I stepped out of my new 2006 Suzuki Concept X2 model car, which I gifted myself after my horrible sweet sixteen. The Newfie quickly jumped out of the car, running toward the back of the house.

"Is that legal? The FBI isn't gonna come down the driveway to arrest us, right?"

Opening the trunk, I picked up my bags. "Hey, come get your stuff," I called out to Ria, Matt, and Care before I replied, "And, no, Caroline. Everything is legal. My supernatural business is separate from my glass-blowing business. Both are legit." The house was already furnished and I had already sent everything that I wanted from Mystic Falls using a moving service. Everything else in the bags was portable trinkets that I wanted to have with me while carrying my library of grimoires in the suitcases. I put the duffles and the suitcases down on the ground. Ria picked up the glass terrarium, cooing to her pet spider, leaving the rest of the baggage to me, Matt, and Caroline. Matt and Caroline each took their own bags on one arm while wheeling a suitcase full of grimoires in their other hands up the ramp. I wrapped the duffle bag over my chest and pulled the suitcase with my left hand, leaving my right hand free to fish out the keys from my denim shorts pocket.

I had already come to see the house months before, so I wasn't as surprised as the others when they entered the large foyer that opened up into the carpeted winding stairs leading to the second floor. On either side of the foyer, large white french doors led into the main living room in the left wing and the dining room/kitchen in the right-wing.

Caroline turned to me, "So, how many changes did you make after buying the house?"

"I only changed the lighting. Of course, I changed some of the furniture and the carpets but, I chose this house because it had almost everything I wanted. We not only have a pool, but also a large garden with a lake. We have trees for shade and privacy, and gates to keep out the nosy neighbors," I explained. "Now, all I have to do is pour magic in the pond, cast a few cloaking spells and protection spells, and fill the pond with moonstones to charge every full moon."

"First to call dibs on a room gets that room," Matt said as he ran up the stairs to the second floor. He dropped his bags in the foyer, leaving Ria hauling the terrarium up at a slower pace.

"Hey, no fair, Matt. Be a gentleman and help the lady carry the heavy stuff," Ria called after him, being careful with her spider's glass habitat up the stairs.

"I don't see a lady anywhere around here."

Caroline just giggled as she looked around. "Aren't you going?"

She turned to look at me. "Me? I thought I'd just share a room with Ria, like usual."

"The house has 8 bedrooms. There's enough space for everyone." Caroline smiled before she quickly ran up the stairs after my siblings. I gathered the grimoires' suitcases carefully underneath the stairs, making sure they were out of the way. Enzo would be the one to bring them up to the attic library/magic room since the suitcases were all very heavy. I took my duffle bags, leaving the rest for the others to pick up, and went to my room, toward the back of the house on the first floor, just as it was in Mystic Falls. I dropped the bag at the foot of the bed and opened the large bay french doors that led to the back gardens.

"Quetzal." My familiar slid out of its vessel, climbing up my arm to settle around my neck. She hissed along my ear. "You can rest. Do as you please." I took her head and held the rest of her body, uncurling her from my neck, and placed her on the patio. She hissed once more before she slid away, into the sunny yard.

I could see Teddy running all over the yard, rolling in the grass as he sniffed every inch of his new home. I quickly changed into my black and white printed two-piece and took a book with me to read before I headed to the pool. I settled under the umbrella beside the poolside fire pit, lounging on the pool. The moment I sat down, I realized that I had forgotten my hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. The next day would be the Summer Solstice, so even before lunch, the sun was already beating down fiercely on the earth. And I was hungry.

I returned to my room, taking my small wooden basket filled with cosmetics and sunscreen. I removed everything else and left only the sunscreen. I took my sunglasses and tied a satin cardigan around my waist before I left my room. I walked past the office/library to the dining room before I entered the kitchen through another set of french doors. For something to eat, I quickly cut some fruit, placed a few grapes on a tray along with bread, crackers, cheese, hummus, and an assortment of deli meats.

When I returned to my chair, I found that Lora had awoken and taken my chair and my book. Umbra, her feline familiar, was resting not too far from her beside the pool, swinging her tail around lazily. "You're in my seat," I complained.

"Get another one." I placed the basket and tray down on the table and pulled a chair beside her under the umbrella. She had already taken my sunscreen and was applying it to her pale skin. I rolled my eyes and huffed and sat down on the lounge chair, before placing my sunglasses on. "Good morning."

"Morning…" She yawned widely before covering her mouth with her hands.

"Long night?"

"Yeah. My flight came in late last night. I just passed out in my room. I've found more Magi. You were right. There's a Sanctuary in Cadiz, and one in Rome. Where else are you thinking of?"

"Hmm. I'm thinking Salem, Privas, and Thessaly."

Lora shot up and lifted her sunglasses to her hairline. "Thessaly? You're thinking…"

"I can't remember my first life but, I feel a strong pull to the area." I had been born and reborn and my memories from every life had been compartmentalized in my mindscape. With some deep meditation, I could access the memories, but I still never used them for anything. The only thing I know is that I was born in many different places all over the world. Cadiz, Spain, Rome, Italy, Privas, France, Salem, Massachusetts. From Thea's grimoire, I knew that she had been born in Lagina in ancient Caria when Rome controlled what is now modern Turkey. I took her advice and began searching for my places of birth to find any more grimoires and magical artifacts that my previous lives had stored away.

When I turned to pick up a slice of an apple, I found Lora eating my grapes. I frowned at her. She just shrugged as she continued to eat her grapes. I ate the slice of the apple before I said, "You're not mad anymore?"

"What?"

"After I killed Sheila, you left. You didn't call unless it was for business. You are angry that I killed her." I looked straight into her clear blue eyes.

She sighed. "I wasn't mad at you. In 1998, it was soon after I became a Magus and I couldn't reconcile how you could allow Enzo to kill all those people at the Augustine party. We talked about what it means to be a Magi. You said that you'd probably have to do things in the future against my morals and you'd be allied with people with a lot of blood on their hands. I told you that I'd keep an open mind."

"Yeah?" I remembered the conversation as it played in my head. I turned on the lounge chair to face her.

"I'm not mad at you. I understand why you had to kill Sheila. She attacked Matt and Ria and her knowledge of the Blackshaw was too dangerous to us. Even if you took her memories and left her alive, she was a powerful witch who would be a threat in the future. I wish I didn't understand but I do. I wish all my morals were screaming at me right now that murder is wrong but I can't." She reached across the table, placing her hand in front of me before I placed my hands in hers. She squeezed my hands as tears fell across the bridge of her nose. "I'm mad at myself because I couldn't protect you and Matt and Ria. You're my family and I couldn't protect you. I had never felt so helpless in my life as I had felt then. I'm the adult. I'm supposed to be the one protecting you, my sister, but I couldn't do anything." She scoffed. She wiped her tears away. "It was like Nora all over again. I couldn't cope so I ran. I couldn't stand to look you in the eyes because I had failed you. I'm sorry." I quickly stood up and ran around the table, wrapping my arms around her thin frame.

"Hey, hey. You didn't fail me. You're my sister and I love you. I am so sorry I didn't realize how much pain you were in," I said to her, hugging her tightly. I hadn't realized Lora's insecurities until now. She was always on top of things, helping me, guiding me. She was the one who made most of the decisions in our business and she was the one who spoke to our clients and controlled the members of our Network along with Enzo. I'm not very good at socializing because I don't like most people, whether they're human or supernatural, so Lora handles all the social requirements in our businesses. She always looked so strong. She never let her deeper insecurities show. I also knew about her sister, Nora, whom she was still searching for. I wanted to kick myself. How could I not have realized anything until now?

"Just, please don't ever break down like that again, ok?" Lora said. I knew she was talking about my reaction to Kelly leaving. "When you feel like it's all too much, just, please tell me. We can talk or do anything you want, okay." She was pleading. "I can't bear to see you like that again. And then what happened to Ria and Matt… I felt like my world was crumbling down around me."

"Ok."

She pulled back to look straight into my eyes. Her eyes and her pale face had turned red. "Promise me."

"I promise."

She inhaled before letting out a long exhale as he wiped her eyes. "Okay. Now, give me some of that salami and that gouda." She pulled away from me to the snack tray, placing slices of deli meat and gouda cheese on a slice of bread.

"Welcome to the neighborhood!" If looks could kill… well my looks can kill but I was really trying to to control myself to keep from lighting the white woman showing me her overly bleached teeth on fire. Seriously, who comes to their new neighbor's house with a platter of oven-baked pasta gratin at the ass crack of dawn? "Oh, good morning sweetheart. I want to welcome you and your folks to our lovely neighborhood. Are your parents up?"

I pasted a smile on my face as I took the platter from her. "Oh, they're still asleep, but thank you for coming. With lovely neighbors such as yourself, I'm sure we'll love living here. I'll tell them you came to greet us. Have a nice day." I shut the door on her and took the platter with me to the kitchen. With a small diagnostic spell, I made sure that nosy lady didn't put anything in the food before I served myself on a plate and put the rest of the platter on the plate warmer. No use wasting good food. I returned to the yard with my food to continue my morning routine doing yoga.

After the sun had sufficiently risen, I returned to the office/library adjacent to my room and sat at the desktop to work. I got a degree in linguistics at Whitmore, so I was using the degree and the many languages I've learned over the last 16 years to make a living. I spoke English, French, Spanish, Latin, Greek, Italian, Icelandic, and Cantonese. With all the languages in my resume, it was fairly easy to get work as a translator. I translated from English to foregn languages and other times I translated from foreign language to English. Learning all these languages worked in my favor for magic as well. Magic is different in every country, every region of the world. The more languages I know, the more I can communicate, the more magic and spells I can learn. But some languages and cultures have gone extinct and their magical practices went with them. I sighed heavily at the thought as I finished translating the book and sent it back to the publisher for editing.

I returned to the kitchen to find Matt and Ria making a meal out of the pasta gratin. "Hey, sis," Matt said awkwardly.

"Hey." We were all silent as Matt and Victoria exchanged glances amongst themselves. I could feel their eyes on me when I opened th refrigerator.

"What's with the lasagna?"

"Some neighbor woman came early this morning to welcome us to the neighborhood." I filled my water bottle before turning to leave. I stopped and turned to my siblings. Ever since my confrontation with Sheila Bennett, things had become strange between us. Matt and Ria spent months recovering from the Cosmos Blackshaw poison. Even though I was helping them, they had pulled further away from me. Every time we talked, it all seemed forced, like there was some secret they wanted to keep from me. I wanted to give them space to recover and come to me on their own. But when I gave Kelly space, she wallowed in her depression until she broke and left us. "Hey, you guys wanna help me with something?"

Matt and Ria looked between one another. "Yeah," Ria said.

"Sure," Matt added as they stood up from the stools around the kitchen island.

We walked up the stairs to the attack space where the library of grimoires and other magical artifacts were stored. On one side of the room were all the bookshelves with the grimoires and magic journals, while on the other side of the room was an open space with a pentagram permanently engraved in the floor. Candles, torches, herbs, water from the Moon Pool, potions, and other ingredients required in spells were labeled, stored away, and arranged neatly on the shelves against the wall. In the middle of the room was a work desk with a computer on top surrounded by several barstools.

"What are we doing?" Ria asked.

"I have an order for new sets of jewelry. I'll be carving the metal for the jewels while you guys do the enchantments," I said. "How's that sound?"

"Sounds good," Matt said as he opened the grimoire of enchantments.

"Okay," Ria added. She pulled the box full of gemstones in front of her.

"Okay." I pressed a key on the desktop, pulling up the first order. "Alright. First is a daylight ear cuff." My business wasn't just a regular site. The site could only be accessed by authorized users who each had a certain password. And everyone came recommended through Enzo or the members of the Silver Moon Organization's network. And each piece I made would only work for the person it was made for, so vampires can't just steal someone's daylight amulet to use as their own. Nor can they be resold. When someone logs onto the site, they can also pick the designs of their jewels among the library of rings, necklaces, earrings, and bracelets. I even design key chains. The buyers can also pick the metal the gem is set in. It can be silver, platinum, gold, or steel.

I picked a piece of steel from the box and began to carve using magic. "Sculpere." Metal shavings fell off the large piece of silver as it slowly took on the shape of the ear cuff. On the inside of the cuff, the name of the person who ordered the cuff was engraved. Matt took a small lapis lazuli stone from the box of crystals and placed it in the spot on the table that was touched by the sunlight. He chanted the spell. "ílios, parakaló dóste se aftó to átomo tin efkairía na dei ton ílio gia álli mia forá."

"Hey, sis," Ria said as she looked through the grimoire.

"Yeah?"

"Why don't you use the other Daylight Amulet spell?"

"Oh, that one was the first spell I used. It was for Enzo's daylight ring. It gave him the extra protections like it can't be removed by anyone by him. I made that spell especially for Enzo," I explained, remembering how I felt back then. Enzo had been in the darkness for decades so I wanted to give him light and freedom to help him enjoy the rest of his eternity. "I'm not gonna use it to make a profit." I poured so much raw emotion and power into that spell that I don't think I could repeat it for just some random person on the internet.

"Okay." When all the daylight amulets were completed, we moved on to making protection amulets for charm bracelets that were available to sell to muggles as well. Matt and Ria enchanted the charms while I continued to carve the different metals that would go on the strings. Their recovery from the poison was complete. As they found out, after I removed the poison from Matt and Ria, their magic was unstable. It took them months of rehabilitation and practice to regain stability in their magical core and consistency with their magic power. They had only just returned to the level they were at before they were poisoned.

"Hey, um…" I asked, "How do you guys like the house? I mean, I know I sorta forced you to come here, and I know that since I was busy with all the legal stuff with the judges about emancipation and guardianship and also the move, and I haven't been paying attention to you guys as much, but I-"

"Sis," Ria cut me off when I started to go on a tangent. "We're fine. We like the house. It's bigger than the one we have in Mystic Falls. And it's awesome that we have the whole of the Big Apple just over the border. Care and I are gonna go shopping with our allowance next weekend. What about you Matty?"

Matt shrugged in his usual laid-back manner. "I like everyone's here too. We're closer to Caroline and Jenna. And your business can really take off. A whole bunch of the guys I play video games with live around here. We're thinking of meeting up sometime soon."

I released a breath as I smiled and nodded. "Good, good. That's good. I'm glad. Happy for both of you. Um… I wanted to say sorry." I saw the confused looks on Matt and Ria's faces. "You know, about my breakdown. I'm sorry that I just went like that. I don't want you to think that I don't care about you or feel like I abandoned you like mom did. I- I…" I tried to find the words. I dropped the string of charm as my eyes filled with tears. I barely remember what happened that day, but I couldn't help but feel guilty that I had just left my siblings alone just after our mother left. I did the same thing that Kelly had done. I ran away. "I'm sorry. I love you guys so much and I want you guys to know that I'll always be on your side. I'll try to do better. I swear. I nev- never meant to hurt you guys." Ria and Matt walked around the table, wrapping their arms around me tightly from both sides.

"Shh. Shh. It's okay 's okay. We're fine," Ria comforted. "We're all gonna be okay."

It was Enzo's turn to cook dinner and Ria was helping him prepare and marinate the meat he wanted to use for the barbecue. "Hello?" From the kitchen, they heard Jenna's voice speak. "Everyone home already?" She dropped her duffle bag in a corner in the foyer before she entered through the kitchen doors. "Hello," Jenna greeted.

"Hi Jen," Ria said.

"Welcome home," Enzo replied.

"Weren't you supposed to be with your boyfriend?"

Jenna washed her hands in the kitchen sink before she sat across from the two on the other side of the kitchen counter. She picked up a cherry tomato from the cutting board and threw it in her mouth. "Ugh, I dumped him."

"Which makes how many now?" Lora walked into the kitchen with her laptop in hand and a pair of headphones around her neck.

"I got over my schoolgirl crush phase with Log…"

"Don't say his name," her three friends scolded. To them, nothing was worse than infidelity, and Logan Fell was the scum of the earth.

"I got over my schoolgirl crush phase with he-who-shall-not-be-named. Now I want passion. I'm a sophisticated woman going into her fourth year of graduate school. I study psychology for God's sake. I understand people. It shouldn't be this hard for me to get a boyfriend who's gonna rock my socks off."

Ria snorted as she passed the marinated meat in a mixture of flour and panko. "Rock your socks off? I don't think people still say that."

"Shut up."

"I think it depends on what you want in the relationship," Enzo began. "You can't run a relationship on passion alone. It'll fizzle out. You gotta find what excited you both at the beginning of the relationship and when things start to fizzle out, find something else to add some zest back into the relationship."

The three ladies stopped as they trained their eyes on Enzo. "What?" he said.

"I see how it is, old man. You been getting laid, Enzo? Without telling us?" She mock gasped.

Enzo rolled his eyes. He didn't care as much about their language as he used to now that they're older. "I'm a man with needs. I may be old but I haven't lost my charm."

Lora and Jenna exchanged glances before they rolled their eyes. "Oh, please. You're hot and British. Girls are literally falling over you."

A few minutes later, deep in discussion about the light subject, Matt came down the stairs calling, "Enzo." Everyone had stopped their conversion before they turned to face him.

"What is it?"

"We need to find a supernatural therapist," said Matt. "When granny Amy died, Phoebe forced us to attend grief therapy. I think now, we'll need a new therapist. Not just for me and Ria but also Phoebe." He looked around the table at all the faces of his friends. "And maybe for all of us. It's been a hard year."

They all fell silent for several moments, none of them looking at one another. It was true. All of them had some type of baggage they carried, trauma, that shaped their lives. They knew they needed to find a way to deal with it, but at the same time, none of them wanted to bring it out. They just wanted to put it in a box and put it away and never see it again.

Enzo nodded. "I'll see what I can find."

Phoebe woke up like she had done every morning since she was a child, an hour before sunrise. She practiced her yoga, meditated, looked over a few new spells, as well as practiced a few older ones. She went into the kitchen to prepare breakfast, the smell wafting all throughout the open doors of the house, bringing her friends and family out of their rooms one by one.

The Newfie, Teddy Bear, was the first one in as he immediately went for his bowl of kibble at the corner of the kitchen.

Enzo came in with his thermos of blood. "Good morning, love. Did you sleep well?"

Lora came down after. "Good morning," she said as she poured herself a glass of water.

Matt came after her, quickly followed by Ria, who both gave their good mornings.

Jenna was the last to come out of her room with her bed hair as she yawned, "Morning."

They all took a seat around the breakfast table, filled with different breakfast foods from the regular eggs, bacon, and pancakes, to the different varieties of salad. Everyone picked their favorite foods and ate in comfortable silence, their utensils clinking against the plates. Once breakfast ended, Jenna and Matt were the pair scheduled to wash the dishes.

The doorbell rang. "I'll get it."

Phoebe went to open the door, to find the same blonde woman who had come the week before. "Hello again." Phoebe's brow twitched. Why the hell was this random lady coming and going to and from her property? She was very territorial. "I just want to have a word with your parents. Here, we all participate in the community…" She let the woman ramble on as her eyes looked down the driveway. The gate was opened.

'Maybe I should sick the dog on her.' Phoebe felt Teddy's tail beating on her legs as he happily wagged his tail and panted happily, his drool falling onto the floor. Nope. The dog was a giant Teddy Bear and would probably just try to get the woman to play with him. She thought of something better. "Enzo! There's an annoying woman at the door. Come get rid of her…" Phoebe called. Enzo appeared in a flash beside her. "And make sure she doesn't come back."

Enzo had just finished compelling the woman to never return when he heard Phoebe call him again. "You don't have to yell. I have supernatural hearing. And unlike your lovely All-American hero, I can't turn it off and on. When you yell, it's ear-piercing."

"Superman doesn't turn off his super-hearing," Matt said as he walked into the foyer with Jenna as they had just finished washing the dishes.

They looked at the boxes that had piled up behind the stairs in the foyer, along with the grimoire's suitcases that were never put in their rightful places. "What the hell is all this stuff?" Jenna asked.

Phoebe looked at the address on the boxes. "Oh. They're some stuff from our old house in Mystic Falls."

Old house. Matt's eyes widened as he looked at the boxes. It had been so long since they moved from their childhood home that he almost forgot that the house he had been living in with his friends and his sisters was not the only home he knew. It all seemed so long ago as their lives had changed so much. It was just a small white house that had become overcrowded. He didn't have that many memories except for his granny and the day she died. Then they moved into the large house with all the land, where they learned their magic and became the home where he made most of his memories. Yeah, the old house. During the past few months, Phoebe had renovated the old house and decided to rent it out to make more money since the house had just been sitting empty since Amy's death and the family moved. They still had some stuff in the old house, so Phoebe had them shipped up to their new Greenwich house.

With Enzo's strength, all the boxes and the suitcases were brought to their proper storage space. Anything to do with magic was brought to the magic room and library in the attic while the rest were left in the basement.

Matt opened a box to find several journals marked "The Vampire Diaries" on the covers. There were several volumes. He had never seen them before. "Hey, sis, what's this?"

Phoebe took another volume from the box. She looked at the journal's cover. She recognized them and saw her messy handwriting from when she was just a toddler. The Vampire Diaries. She was certain she should remember the journals, but no matter how hard she wracked her brain, she came up blank. Her early childhood memories were always like that. "I'm not sure."

"2200 BC: A warlock with powerful psychic powers lived somewhere around the Mediterranean. He tried to use his powers for good, but they were beyond his control. He could always hear people's thoughts and when he did, he gave people unsolicited advice. One elder had lustful thoughts about a young girl in the village, and the Psychic told him not to (note: I don't get why he thought an old man with dirty thoughts about a child would simply stop having them just because he asked nicely). The elder rallied the people of the village, turning them against the Psychic (people don't like having their private thoughts on blast). They tied him to a pyre and burned him alive. The Psychic's power, at the moment of his death, sent out a powerful blast that created a separate dimension where his soul resides. This separate dimension also takes the souls of the wicked when they die. The Psychic created Hell and he became the Devil. He was immortal and unkillable, but he can't walk freely on the land of the living unless he is summoned. His psychic powers are still strong, even in another dimension as he can manipulate humans to do his bidding. After the Psychic, the village became wary of Psychics. All children who had psychic powers were exiled from the village onto an uninhabited island to die. The villagers later created a weapon, a tuning fork, to disrupt the power of psychics. Note: It was found out by the Scooby Gang that if a spirit from hell returns to the land of the living, the only way to kill them is to forge a dagger from their ashes and bones." Everyone had already stopped their tasks and turned to Matt and the journals. There were so many. The journal in Matt's hand read "Past and Future.". The other journals were biographies about different people that existed in the past and some people that will exist in the future.

They sat around the table reading the journals.

"800 BC: a girl who began showing psychic powers was taken from her parents and exiled to an uninhabited island. She meets another psychic girl there… voices enhance their psychic powers over long distances… cannibalism… the younger girl committed suicide… the devil sired them, gave them immortality and in return, they will bring him the souls of the wicked. The two girls became the Sirens.

"1 century BC: a powerful warlock, Silas… a powerful witch, Qetsiyah… the travelers… immortality elixir… the cure to immortality… the anchor, Amara… the Other Side… Nature sought balance for the two immortals, and thus created the doppelgangers, identical copies (also known as shadow-selves), of the first two immortal lovers, Silas and Amara, who would be born every 500 years to die in the place of the immortals. Note: Doppelganger blood is highly sought after by witches to cast powerful spells due to its special magical properties. Note to self: need to collect the current doppelganger's blood over several years to store."

Lora raised her head from the journals. "So the current doppelganger has been born? Who is she?"

Everyone looked at Phoebe. "I don't know. I had the memories when I was younger, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't write down any names of anyone of importance to the future. As I grew older and gained access to my previous lives, I lost my memories of the future. What about your visions?"

Lora nodded. "Yeah. In my visions, everything is always shadowed. I can never see any faces, hear any names, or find any identifying characteristics."

"So what does that mean?" Jenna asked

"It means it's not time yet. When it's time, the visions will be clearer," Lora explained.

Ria took the journal from Matt and continued: "100-500 AD: Green Knight… Camelot falls… Excalibur… Lady of the Lake. 5 Century AD: The Travelers' Leader, Markos, finds the first pairs of doppelgangers… love spell to make the Doppelgangers drawn to one another… In America… Inadu was born… the Hollow… curse of the werewolves… Labonair…" They breezed through those passages as they already knew about the history of Camelot and the werewolves. They continued to read the timeline, all through the day. They only got up to use the bathroom next door since Enzo had brought leftover barbeque to the attic for them to snack on when he realized that they would be reading the stack of journals for hours. The moment he heard about the Devil, which he didn't know existed, he knew the journals were important. And then he learned about the origin of his species. He learned about how vampires were created 1000 years ago. "1001 AD: The Original Witch uses Qetsiyah's immortality spell to make her children into Vampires using the blood of the 2nd Amara Doppelganger…" The Original Family. The Hybrid and his curse.

He drank the blood from his thermos. "You're right, love," he said to Phoebe. "Nature really is a bitch. And so are her servants." Laughter rang around the table before they continued on.

"Year 1100: a witch, a werewolf, and a vampire form the Triad. They create a creature to destroy the dragons, Malivore, Eater of the Dark. It feeds on all supernatural creatures, except for witches, vampires, and werewolves, driving most other creatures to extinction… 1110 AD: a witch casts a spell on 5 mortal men, giving them supernatural strength… Brotherhood of the Five… to hunt vampires to complete the mark tattooed on their chest and arm that leads to Silas' burial and the cure. The Hunters were created by a descendant of Qetsiyah to find Silas and feed him the cure to kill him so he would go to the Other Side, where she would spend eternity torturing him, never find peace and be with his lover, Amara. 1114: In Italy, the Original Sister falls for one of the Five… silver daggers bonded to the ash of the White Oak tree is used to desiccate the Originals. The daggers don't work on the Original Hybrid due to his werewolf side… Hybrid kills the 5 hunters (note: when a vampire kills a member of the Brotherhood of the five, the vampire will be cursed. They will see constant hallucinations and be driven insane by the hunter they killed, leading that vampire to commit suicide. The Original Hybrid was cursed for 52 years. The only way to remove the curse is to find another potential hunter and have them kill a vampire. This means humans and other supernatural creatures can kill hunters with no consequences. On another note, hunters have this strong killing instinct. Once they find a vampire, they won't be able to resist the urge to kill them, even if it is a loved one)… 1490: 3rd Amara Doppelganger gives birth to a baby girl out of wedlock… exiled to England… 1492: 3rd Amara doppelganger meets the Original Vampires… sacrifice… Doppelganger becomes a vampire and runs… 1864: 3rd Amara Doppelganger meets 3rd Silas Doppelganger… and his brother are turned into vampires… Ripper of Monterey…"

"Wait," Enzo stopped them. "Ripper of Monterey… I know who that is." Phoebe grabbed a pen and a journal as she waited for Enzo to continue. "It's Stefan Salvatore."

"Salvatore?" Jenna gasped. "As in Mystic Falls Founding Family Stefan Salvatore? He died in 1864 along with his brother…" Jenna's voice dropped as she looked at Enzo with wide eyes. "Damon Salvatore." They all knew about Enzo's friend, Damon Salvatore, who betrayed him at Augustine, but they had never put it together before. Lora continued to transcript the notes into her laptop. Phoebe ran out of the room in a sprint.

"That means that Stefan Salvatore is the Silas Doppelganger."

"Damon told me that he and his brother were in love with the same woman: a vampire who lived in their house. She fed on them and fed them her blood. Her name was Katherine Pierce," Enzo said with a sour expression as he remembered the stories his old friend told him over the years they spent together in their cells. "She's the woman Damon loves."

"That means that Katherine Pierce is the 3rd Amara Doppelganger," Lora added. "Since, according to the journals, she's Bulgarian and she's running from the Originals, Katherine Pierce is probably an alias."

"At that time, Mystic Falls was crawling with vampires and people were dying. The Founding families formed the council. Using Johnathan Gilbert's inventions, they rounded up the vampires to burn them. Stefan went to his father to try to save Katherine, but he fed Stefan vervain. When Katherine went to feed on Stefan, she was incapacitated and dragged away to be killed. Stefan and Damon tried to rescue her, but their father killed them."

"And since they'd been drowning in Katherine's blood, they woke up as vampires," Ria finished.

"Damon thought Katherine was dead. He didn't want to transition but Stefan killed their father and forced Damon to drink human blood because he didn't want to be alone for eternity. So Damon promised him an eternity of misery."

"You said Damon thought Katherine was dead?" Ria asked.

"Katherine's handmaid was the witch, Emily Bennett. Emily saved the vampires by locking them in a tomb using the power of a comet. Damon's waiting for the comet to return to reopen the tomb."

"That means there's a tomb full of hungry desiccated vampires somewhere under Mystic Falls," Jenna gasped.

"I found it!" Phoebe came back into the room running with an old diary in her hands. She read aloud, "May 11, 1994. I met Damon and Stefan in Mystic Falls in 1994. Damon killed everyone in the boarding house, including Zach Salvatore's pregnant girlfriend."

"1994," Jenna thought. "I remember that a bunch of people were killed, but I didn't know anything about vampires then."

"Okay," Matt said. "We've gone a little off-topic. So now we know the identities of 3 of the characters in the timeline. We can use that to find out about more people." He turned back to the Journal. "1922: Ripper of Monterey meets the Original Hybrid and the Original Sister in Chicago… Original sister falls for the Ripper (maybe she's dumb but I don't see how a vampire with his emotions off and doesn't care about anyone can fall in love with a woman. Love is an emotion. If he feels nothing, that means no love. I don't know how that humanity switch works)... Original Hybrid becomes murder buddies with the Ripper… ambushed by the Original Hunter. The Original Hybrid removes the Ripper's memories and runs with his sister… 1982: 4th Silas Doppelganger is born. 1992: the 4th Amara doppelganger is born. She's put up for adoption."

Matt reads the date. "2007…" The room falls silent. That was a year in the future.

"Continue Matty," Phoebe said.

"Are we sure we want to know the future?" Jenna asked.

Lora nodded. "We see the future all the time in our visions and prophecies. If Phoebe knew the past and the future in so much detail when she was young, I'm sure the gods wanted us to know all this information. But this isn't the future. It's like a record. Based on the things that happened in the past, this could possibly happen in the future."

"The first time I met Hekate, she told me I needed to prevent the birth of the Tribrid. She would be the reason for the death of the Originals. If the Originals die, so does every vampire in their bloodline." Phoebe's eyes shifted to Enzo. "A whole species going extinct in a matter of hours. But I don't think that's the only reason. Vampires become stronger with age so the Originals are the strongest vampires in the world, if not the strongest beings in the world. There is a storm coming… I'm pretty sure whatever is going to happen, we'll need help from the Originals."

They were all silent. "Then, let's continue."

"2007: The 4th Amara doppelganger's birth mother finds out about the Curse of the Sun and the Moon (she teaches folklore at a university)…3rd Silas doppelganger's brother turns the 4th Amera doppelganger's biological mother into a vampire… 2008: Triad Industries… Intelligence agency to keep the supernatural world secret… destroy supernatural creatures who threaten to expose the supernaturals to humans… employee falls into the Pit of Malivore. She comes out pregnant with a child (malivore begets himself a human vessel)... 2009: The Vampire Brothers return home. The Ripper (who no longer feeds on humans) saves the 4th Amara doppelganger in a car accident… he has to know her (he spends the summer stalking her)... 3rd Amara doppelganger begins collecting ingredients for the curse of the sun and the moon to give to the Originals, in exchange for her freedom… triggers the werewolf curse in her boyfriend… the 4th Amara doppelganger and her brother move in with their adoptive aunt after the death of her adoptive parents… Teenage Vampire comes to town to find a way to open the tomb to save her mother… the vampires are freed from the tomb…"

"Wait," Ria stopped them once again. "We know that the Vampire Brothers are Stefan and Damon Salvatore. That makes 'home' Mystic Falls. That means that the 4th Amara Doppelganger, the very human doppelganger, needed to break the curse of the sun and the moon, is in Mystic Falls."

"Let's keep going. We'll find out more." Phoebe said.

"2010: Malivore's human vessel is born… the Ripper starts feeding on human blood again… tomb vampires killed… Vampire doppelganger comes to town. She turns a human into a vampire for the sacrifice… Vampire brothers lock Vampire doppelganger in the tomb… human doppelganger is kidnapped and brought to the Noble Original… Noble Original makes a deal with the human doppelganger to protect her friends and family if she helps him kill the Original Hybrid… Scooby Gang kills the oldest Original and his Bloodline…" The day passed and no one moved. They continued reading the journals. "2011… hunt for the cure… The Wild Original is killed… The Tribrid is conceived… 2012… Travelers free Markos from the Other Side… Markos casts an anti-witch spell… The Other side is destroyed… The Tribrid is born… 2013… the Siphon performs the merge with his younger brother… the Immortal Witch comes for the Tribrid… the Heretics… the Trinity return to get revenge on the Originals… 2014… 2015… 2016… 2017… 2018… 2019… 2020… 2021… 2026… the Noble Original and the Original Hybrid dies… 2028… The Tribrid sacrifices herself and jumps into the pit of Malivore. Note: Malivore can be killed by being incinerated by Dragon Fire, or with Tribrid blood because the tribrid is the natural loophole due to Malivore's creation."

Matt dropped the journal on the table. There were only crickets in the room before Ria said, "The Originals, the Brotherhood of the Five, the First Immortals, The Scooby Gang, the doppelgangers. Witches, Werewolves, Vampires. The Curse of the Sun and the Moon, Crescent Curse, the Immortal Witches, the Devil, the Sirens, the Tribrid, the Siphon, The Doomed Twins, … Seriously, how much shit is gonna happen in the next few years?"

Phoebe held her head in her hands. "Actually, it's more like a bunch of idiots kicked over a bunch of dominos and they set a bunch of events into motion and the whole world goes to shit."

"This is like a list of them-who-shall-not-be-named but instead of one Voldemort, we have multiples. But, now we have some names and we know that a lot of this takes place in Mystic Falls."

"At least you wrote down their weaknesses. The weakness for the Immortal Witch is a weapon created with the blood of someone she loves, sacred soil from her homeland, and ashes of her oppressors?" Jenna looked up from the journal. "What the hell kind of weakness is that? It's so specific."

"It's magic." Lora shut down her laptop. "It can either be really vague or really specific."

"Ooh, and don't forget the other threat the Originals are supposed to help us with. Which we still don't know anything about since there's nothing about it in the journals," Phoebe said. "But, that's not my fault. The gods haven't given me anything on that."

"This timeline goes back over 4000 years and 30 years into the future."

"With all the shit going down in the next few years, I'd say we're royally screwed," Ria complained as she stretched her arms over her head.

"So where do we start?"

Phoebe's POV

We spent the day in the attic looking through the journals. The sun had set and by the time we finished, everyone, except Enzo, was sore from sitting all day. We decided to stop as we had all been exhausted from all the information dump we received from the journals. Even though I should have known all these things - I wrote them - everything sounded like I was hearing it for the first time. I couldn't help but sigh. There was so much I needed to do. And I still didn't know anything about the storm that was coming.

I showered and washed my hair before I got into bed. The moment my head hit the pillow, I was forcefully pulled into the Soul Memory. I was surrounded by the completed mirrors that overlapped like a prism around me. The mirrors vibrated like a liquid, and from each mirror, the Remnants of my previous lives came forth. They all stood around me in a circle. "Hello Phoebe," Madea said as she smiled mischievously at me. Her curly blond locks were pinned up with a golden chain coronet wrapped around the circumference of the head. A few fringes hung loosely on the nape of her slender neck, exposed by the low collar of the red and gold-accented gown that fell around her in ruffles and pleats. She was my first life in this world: the Sorceress Medea, Granddaughter of Helios the Sun God, Princess of Colchis, Pupil and Priestess of Hekate, and wife of Jason of the Argos. I was named Medea the other world after her, so I was named after myself. No wonder she's so smug.

I couldn't help but sigh once more as I took in the Remnants. Whenever I went to Erebus, I drank from the River of Forgetfulness. Every time I was returned to Erebus to be reborn from my previous lives, I would also bathe in the Lethe to wash away the memories. Every bath in the river left remnants of my personalities from each life. In this life, I had been to Erebus many times to visit with my father. Each time I drank from the waters of the river, I regained the Remnants that I had left in Erebus. Now, they exist as part of my subconscious. And they think they can live through me again.

"Ladies," I greeted dryly.

"Are you finally prepared to listen? We only wish to help you, child," Marianne added in a soft tone of voice. "We have lived through these times and have met these people. You need our help."

Hellene, in a navy blue wool and fur redingote, stepped beside Marianne, contrasting with her worn-out green corset dress. "When I was living, my sweet René and I traveled the world. I collected many magical artifacts, and grimoires, including those of our previous lives. I created Les Archives Magiques to store them. You must find it."

I find their yapping annoying at times, but with the number of different lives we've lived, I know their knowledge is useful. "Okay, where is it?"

Hellene smiled wittingly. "Ma chère, my husband and I were powerful Enfants de Hékate. We would not simply create a Maison de Magie without protecting its contents. We created, what you call, a pocket dimension. The key is on this plane. The gate phases between this plane and the pocket. Its location is always moving. Find the Key. It will lead you to the gate."

"Not everything is in the archive," Thea said. "Each of us took precautions with our magic as I did with my Grimoire. They are your legacies. Find them."

"Why can't you guys just tell me where they are?" They looked at one another, all of them shrugging at once, even the refined ladies. "You don't know." I sighed.

"It is as you say. We are Remnants. We came to guide you, give you tingling sensations, annoy you," I rolled my eyes at Jane's childish grin. "Did you want us to hold your hands?"

"Skyla," I swore, giving her the finger before I turned to leave. I heard their voices laughing in my head as my eyes slowly opened to the dawn.

Okay, so they're in Greenwich, Connecticut, not NYC, but who cares since it's right across the border. And the title, "In Greenwich" doesn't flow as well as "In New York".

I used Paul Wesley's year of birth as the year of birth for the Silas Doppelganger, Tom Avery.

I know this seems fillery, but I wanted to give the characters time to breathe and just hang out like normal people, especially since they just moved to a new home. They also have to deal with everything that happened in the last chapters before the next conflict begins.

Skyla means bitch in greek.
