We finally know who Jenna's patron Goddess is. It's Bia, the Titan Goddess of Might and Force, guardian of the throne of Zeus. One of the reasons I chose Bia was because I was inspired by the MYth [3]: A Promise series by Zelda C. Wang on Tapas, which caused me to gain more interest in the four siblings (her work is great, check it out. This is not sponsored). I couldn't find many myths with Bia as a prominent character so she's a blank slate I can use however I wish to show her power. Look forward to it.

I've been having trouble with the chapters so the next few chapters will be shorter than my usual 10000+ words. Sorry. I just don't want you guys to have to wait for so long for a chapter. I know how it feels to be constantly reloading the alerts and favorites to see if a new chapter of your favorite fic is updated. I want to give you guys at least a little something.

EDIT: I was re-reading this and I found myself dissatisfied with Elijah's and Jenna's confrontation. I feel like there are some blatant "lies" Jenna told about her friends that wouldn't go well with Elijah in the future once Elijah meets the rest of the Magi.

Bia - Priyanka Chopra

"And Styx the daughter of Okeanos (Oceanus) was joined to Pallas and bare Zelos (Zelus, Emulation) and trim-ankled Nike (Victory) in the house. Also she brought forth Kratos (Cratus, Strength) and Bia (Force), wonderful children. These have no house apart from Zeus, nor any dwelling nor path except that wherein God leads them, but they dwell always with Zeus the loud-thunderer. For so did Styx the deathless daughter of Okeanos plan on that day when the Olympian Lightener called all the deathless gods to great Olympos (Olympus), and said that whosoever of the gods would fight with him against the Titanes, he would not cast him out from his rights, but each should have the office which he had before amongst the deathless gods. And he declared that he who was without office and rights as is just. So deathless Styx came first to Olympos with her children through the wit of her dear father. And Zeus honoured her, and gave her very great gifts, for her he appointed to be the great oath of the gods, and her children to live with him always. And as he promised, so he performed fully unto them all.[7]" - Hesiod (Taken from Wikipedia)

Chapter 17 - Jenna, Force, and Victory

The man looked at her with fear etched on his face. He tried to run but she was faster than him. Faster than a vampire. She was quick to grab him and threw him against the wall down the alley. In the blink of an eye, she was on top of him. She held him still. Her long nails tore his skin from his body like it was made of paper. Her face was impassive as the man cried and begged as she tore out his liver, his intestines, and his stomach. He was sputtering and begging as blood filled his mouth.

'You didn't stop when she begged you to. Why should I?' Her shimmering violet eyes remained on the man as she watched the fear marring his face. She punched through his sternum, opening his ribcage with her two hands to reveal his slowly beating heart. As she reached into his chest to grasp his heart, an armored hand grasped her wrist.

'That is enough, now.' The mutilated body disappeared before her as the alley around them faded. The armored goddess raised Jenna off her knees and grasped her cheeks in her hands. 'Jenna, you are not a monster. Remember, control.'

'I killed them,' she whimpered. 'I ripped them apart with my bare hands.' She looked at her hands but she found no blood. Her eyes confusedly searched her surroundings. The vampire had disappeared along with the alley to be replaced by a range of tall mountains and raging seas. Birds cawed as they soared over the ocean. Waves crashed against the rocks below. She looked up to face the goddess with tears streaming down her cheeks. 'How… how could I do that? I didn't feel anything. I ripped into him like he was a present.'

'Yes, you did. However, this power is not made to destroy. It is made to protect. So long as you deny your nature, your strength, your power, it will force itself out of you, beyond your control. It will make you into a beast.' The Goddess held Jenna's hands in her own, holding her in a gentle caress. 'However, if you embrace your strength, train it, it will become one with you. It will empower you. You denied my power for a long time, suppressing it. Like a cauldron, it boiled over and exploded. If you continue to do so, the same events that occurred on this night will repeat in the near future.' She reached up to remove her helmet, letting the thick black curls fall down her back in waves as her armor slowly disappeared. A flowing silk toga materialized over her body, leaving a large gap in the back that allowed her large white wings to unfurl behind her. Her hand glowed as she touched Jenna's back, causing a pair of light blonde wings, the same color as her hair, to protrude from her back.

Jenna looked behind her with wide eyes as her wings flapped, blonde feathers falling all around them. Jenna closed her eyes and inhaled the sea air deeply. The wind passed through her hair and lightly caressed the feathers of her wings. She opened her eyes and looked at the goddess who was smiling kindly at her. 'How do I control it?'

'How else do you learn to master a skill? Practice and training.' Holding Jenna's hand, the goddess guided her toward a large cave where the white waters of a large river ran along the green landscape that appeared before her eyes. 'I am a Titan, Jenna, the daughter of Styx and the Titan of Warcraft, Pallas. My brother, Kratos, and I guard Zeus' throne while my other siblings have been Zeus' companions before he defeated his father to become the king of the gods. Our powers vary but they are unmatched. That power now lives within you. You must simply use it.' Bia and Jenna walked deeper into the River Styx. She placed her hands on Jenna's shoulders as she gently pushed her beneath the water.

Jenna was under the water for only a moment before the goddess raised her back to the surface. Her golden-brown eyes pierced Jenna's amethyst ones. 'Trust me. Trust yourself. Do not fear.'

Elijah sat on the armchair as he watched the young woman sleeping peacefully in his bed. It wasn't the first time he had her sleeping on his bed nor was it the first time he found himself in deep thought as he watched her sleep.

He was on the prowl the night they met. He was a thousand-year-old heterosexual man. No matter how much control he had over his urges, there was still a beast inside him that needed to be satisfied every now and again. His vampire was always more fulfilled when he fed while in the throes of passion. He had planned to feed on her when he saw her at the bar that night, but when he approached her and began talking to her, he found her intriguing. They conversed for an hour before he offered to bring her to his hotel room. As his hands and lips roamed her body, his true face came forth as his fangs descended.

But he held himself back.

He hadn't had such a fulfilling conversation with a person in a long time and he wanted to talk to her again. If he fed on her, he would have had to compel her to forget him and he would never see her again. He didn't want to do that. He wanted to see her again, to feel her writhe beneath him in the pleasure that he gave her.

He had her climaxing repeatedly before he finally entered her, feeling his inner vampire purr as his fangs came forward once more. Elijah prided himself in his control. He could spend weeks without feeding when blood was unavailable. He fed from blood bags to survive but he was still a vampire. A predator. There were times when he felt the need to sink his fangs into someone's throat and enjoy the flow of their warm blood down his throat. He fed from his lovers when they were in their climax as he found that when they were high on sexual pleasure, his partners felt no pain, nor did they realize he was drinking their blood. Once he was satisfied after feeding, he gave his partner a portion of his blood to heal the bite marks then compelled them to forget they ever even met when they were leaving.

He didn't feed on Jenna so he didn't need to compel her to forget. A few weeks later, he found himself meeting her again and in bed with her. She was absolutely ravishing and he was insatiable. He was just a man enjoying the body of a woman, consenting to take part in pleasurable experiences together.

It was unexpected that Jenna knew about vampires or that he was a vampire. But, from her reaction to him finding her in the middle of a massacre, it seemed as though she had known for quite a while. Yet she trusted him enough to let him bring her into his apartment and let him wash her without dissent.

It was even more surprising to find out that she, too, was supernatural. Her heartbeat told him that she was human. Her strength, which seemed greater than that of three vampires, told him that she was not a werewolf. She was also not a witch. He had no idea about what she could be. It was quite humbling to find that there are more supernatural creatures in the world than he and his family were aware of.

Elijah turned the showerhead to cold to shock himself awake before he turned off the shower. He wrapped a towel around his waist before he stepped onto the mat to wipe his feet. He stood in front of the mirror as he remembered what he had seen the night before.

He had left his apartment in the afternoon and was walking back home when he heard the commotion. Young vampires making a mess and risking exposure, was what he thought when he headed toward the alley that night. He was prepared to kill at least one of them to make an example of them before compelling the others to feed without killing, but when he arrived at the alley, he found one of the vampires already dead with his heart on the ground before the other lost his head.

His eyes widened when he saw Jenna. He was frozen in place, in shock and awe, as she shredded the baby vampire with her bare hands. As she was surrounded by dead bodies, she looked defeated. He stepped to approach her but decided to observe when she walked to the young girl's body. He saw the puncture wounds on the dead girl's neck. A picture of what had occurred that night formed in his mind. He watched as Jenna placed a coin in the girl's mouth and whispered a prayer, "I'm sorry I couldn't save you. Please, Thanatos, take care of her."

A chill crawled up his spine as his hackles raised in gooseflesh. He could not see anything but the vampire inside him could sense a great danger coming from that alley, where Jenna sat. Not long after, the feeling of, what he could only describe of death and mortality, left the alley and he breathed a sigh of relief. He finally stepped forward and called out to her. When she turned to face him, he found himself staring into bright violet eyes that showed many different shades of purple. He had many questions but decided against them when he saw the lost and vulnerable look in her eyes.

Even though he watched her mutilate the vampires and felt death appear beside her, he felt no sense of danger. He knew instinctively that she would not hurt him.

After he bathed Jenna and disposed of the bodies, he returned to the apartment and watched her sleep.

His mind replayed what he had seen with his eyes and the knowledge he had of the supernatural world. She was nothing he had ever encountered before. A light glimmer formed in his eyes as he thought about his family. His brother threw the rest of his siblings into the sea. His family was taken from him and he would have his revenge. Could she be strong enough to help me kill Niklaus? He had to know. Elijah took his phone off the counter, searching for the name of one of his witch contacts.

"Hello?"

"Doctor Martin, good morning."

"Good morning Elijah," Jonas Martin said. "What can I do for you?"

"Last night, I witnessed something I had never seen before in my thousand years of life. A human with increased speed, senses, and strength killing three vampires," he explained. "She had eyes that flashed different shades of purple and tattoos on her forearms of a chain wrapped around a sword. Have you come across such a thing in your studies of magic?"

"Human? Are you sure?"

"I heard her heartbeat. The purple eyes and the tattoos disappeared not long after her encounter with the three vampires," Elijah explained.

Jonas Martin hummed in deep thought. "No. I have never heard of such a thing before. I'll look through my grimoires and ask around to see if I can find anything."

"Thank you," Elijah said. "Goodbye, Dr. Martin." Elijah hung up before he quickly changed into his suit pants and dress shirt. He left the bathroom and entered the bedroom, where Jenna still lay asleep, facing the window.

Her face looked much more peaceful now than before. He sat lightly on the mattress, doing his best not to disturb her sleep. He reached up, passing his fingers along her hairline, moving her strawberry blonde hair away from her eyes. As his fingers touched her temple, he closed his eyes, forcing himself into her mind. His eyes widened when he found himself standing before a great brass and stone gate. Many decorations were carved on the gate, images of Griffons all along the face of the doors and mounted above the gate. Runes in Old Norse were carved all along the gate, marking the boundary of Jenna's mind.

A mental shield? Elijah thought. Most older vampires had mental shields to block off their minds from tampering by witches and other vampires. He and his siblings had a thousand years to strengthen the shielding in their minds. Although some humans who practiced spirituality had mental shields to prevent compulsion, he had never seen something as rigid and intricate as this gate. He could sense powerful magic woven into the gate as shown by the runic inscription carved all over the metal surface of the gate.

He placed his hands on the doors and pushed with all his might. It took several tries before the doors began to creak. Before he could make one more push, the Griffons perched above the gate and carved into the face of the doors came to life before him. They jumped out at him, pushing him away from the gate. They prowled and circled him, each step of their paws radiating power, shaking the space like an earthquake.

"You have no business here," the panthers' voices echoed around him.

"You are not allowed in this place," said another as they continued to circle him, growling ferociously.

"Begone!" A Griffon roared at him. From the Griffon's mouth came a sonic wave that forcefully pushed him out of Jenna's mind. Elijah winced as he opened his eyes to the physical world.

Elijah didn't know how to feel about this. It could be said that he had known Jenna for five months since he met her in October, but at the same time, they have only known each other for a few days. They were not friends. He knew a few general facts about her such as her schooling, age, and that she cares for her family and friends very much. She knows even less about him. He only gave her his alias as Elijah Smith. Most of their nights together were spent having sex rather than in deep conversations about their lives.

He had never tried to compel her before nor has he ever tried entering her mind. The magic shielding her mind was cast by a powerful witch for it to be able to repel an Original's intrusion. Could she have been sent by someone to spy on him? Did she know who he was when she entered that bar? Was she targeting him? All these questions filled his mind as he watched her still sleeping in his bed.

Elijah stood up. He would get his answers when she awoke.

Jenna opened her eyes to the heavy curtain against the large windows keeping the sunlight from entering the room. She looked around her as she slowly remembered what had happened the night before. She remembered Elijah finding her in the alley and bringing her to his apartment and she remembered how he bathed and took care of her, letting her rest in his bed. Looking at the other side of the bed, it didn't look like he slept in the bed.

As she wandered around the room, she found several garment bags on the chair beside the bed. She looked through them to find several pairs of jeans, sweaters, and shoes, and a large bag with a winter coat. On the bedside table were her cell phone, keys, wallet, her charm bracelet, and even her vervain spray. He must've brought it back after getting rid of the bodies. Her eyes moved from the spray can to her wrist.

The vampire had grabbed her there and pushed her against the wall so hard that she heard her skull crack. She had felt the blood seeping into her hair. Jenna moved her left wrist side to side, twisting it this way and that way, to test the movement in her wrist. It was all healed. There was not even a bruise. She reached to touch the back of her head. There was no blood or cracked skull. Not even a bump. Her entire body had healed. And she knew that it wasn't due to anything like Elijah feeding her vampire blood. She didn't taste any blood in her mouth. In her gut, she knew that her newfound healing abilities were due to the fact that she was Bia's Champion.

Jenna pushed the thoughts about Bia and the night before from her mind as she removed the silk robe. She threw it in the hamper before she headed into the bathroom. She took a long, hot shower, just letting the water cascade down her body for about half an hour to completely wake her. After drying herself, she returned to the bedroom. As she searched through the garment bag, she found several panties and bras her size. Jenna couldn't help the smile and the blush that crept onto her cheeks at the thought of Elijah, in his designer suit, running through a women's lingerie section so early in the morning. She was certain he got a lot of attention, especially some lustful, wanton looks from several of the women shopping and the female employees at checkout.

She quickly dressed in a pair of underwear before she pulled on her jeans and her sweater. She braided her hair over her shoulder in the mirror before she pulled the slippers into her feet to leave the room.

She found Elijah, with his back to her, in dress pants and a dress shirt, with his sleeves rolled up to his forearms in front of the stove. With a flick of his wrist, he flipped the stir-fry in the pan. She couldn't help herself as she leaned against the wall, taking in his gorgeous body in that suit. "I remember last night you were wearing a t-shirt and jeans," Jenna said as a cheeky grin formed on her lips.

Elijah chuckled softly as she served the food from the pan onto a plate. "I do not sleep in my suits, if that is what you are implying." He turned around and walked to the dining table, placing the plate among the many other food plates on the table. "Good morning, Jenna."

"Good morning," Jenna replied with a soft smile. She walked closer to him at the table. "I want to thank you for helping me last night. I know I was almost catatonic and if not for you, I don't think I would have felt as safe as I was after what happened. Thank you, Elijah."

"I was glad to help," he said. He pulled out a chair at the dining table and held it open for her. "Please, join me for lunch."

Jenna walked to him, slowly sitting as he pushed the chair back into the table. "Thank you." The two ate together in silence as Jenna contemplated what she was going to tell Elijah. Even though he seemed relaxed, she knew that he had many questions running through his mind. Vampires are creatures who usually have trust issues and tend to overreact when they feel like their life could be in danger. She wanted Elijah to trust her. She wanted this easy-going relationship with him. He had helped her without question the night before. She had trusted him and she wanted him to trust her in return. But, how much did she want to tell him? Some of her friends' secrets weren't hers to tell.

Just as Jenna finished eating, Elijah stood up, taking her plate along with his. "Thank yo-" She was cut off when her phone suddenly began ringing. Home flashed on the screen. "Hello."

"Jen, are you okay? What's going on? We all felt something through the bond. But then nothing," Phoebe exclaimed. "You didn't even answer your phone. Please tell me you're alright."

Jenna looked down at her wrist where the mark of the bond rested. "I'm fine, Phoebe," Jenna said. "Something happened yesterday. I ran into a few vampires. I tried to save a girl, but it didn't turn out well."

"Oh gods," Phoebe gasped. Jenna could hear several complaining and worried voices in the background. "Hey, I'm talking… I'm trying… She's obviously still alive… just wait a sec. Sorry, Jenna. Everyone's been worried about you. So, what happened?"

"I was actually really hurt. They broke my wrist and they threw me against a wall. But, I'm fine now," Jenna stood up and walked to the window, where she found herself looking down at the Charles River. She saw joggers and cars moving across the bridge that acted as the border between Boston and Cambridge. "I didn't tell you but, since I started school six months ago, I've been having dreams. Violent dreams. And my strength was out of control. I'm sorry I didn't tell you but I was just so scared."

"It's okay, Jen, it's okay. It was the blessing, wasn't it?"

"Yeah," Jenna cried. She turned to find Elijah leaning against the wall beside her, clearly eavesdropping on her phone call as he drank his tea. She couldn't help the smile that formed on her lips when he extended a cup of tea to her. She mouthed, thank you, to him and took the cup.

"Although we wouldn't have been able to help you until we found out who your patron was, I wish you would have at least asked us for help. We could've done something," Phoebe said.

"I know. It was just my pride getting the best of me. I'm sorry."

"It's fine. So what happened yesterday?"

"I was finally able to interact with my patron. It's Bia."

"Oh, okay. I'll see what I can find out about her. I don't think Bia usually has Champions so I'm not entirely sure what abilities she's blessed you with. We might not be able to find anything though," Phoebe explained. Jenna heard her sigh heavily, "I'm so sorry, Jen. I wish we could help you more."

"It's okay. Actually, in addition to strength, I know I have speed and senses. I also healed overnight after one of the vampires broke my wrist and the back of my skull."

"We'll look into it. I'll let you go now, but make sure to Skype us later. Everyone felt your distress through the bond. They're all going crazy worrying about you. Call home, Jen."

"Yeah. I will. Tell everyone I said hi. I'm a little busy right now."

"Alright, we'll talk later."

Jenna ended the call and turned to Elijah. "Was that informative?"

"I would prefer to hear your take on the events that led up to this," Elijah replied as he led her to the couch in the living room.

Jenna held the cup in her hand, liking the warm feeling of the ceramic in her palm. "I didn't know about the supernatural growing up. Vampires, witches, and werewolves were all just stories until I met a young Magus."

Elijah's eyes widened slightly as he swallowed deeply. "A Magus?" Elijah knew well of the Magi. He and his family had worked with several over the centuries. They were powerful and were more willing to work with vampires than Witches. His family, especially Kol, had several on call all over the world when they were all together.

Jenna nodded. "You know of the Magi?"

"Of course. Please continue."

"She explained the supernatural world to me and gave me vervain. I put it in my jewelry, my food and water, and even my perfume. I started training in martial arts so I could defend myself if I were to ever come face to face with a supernatural being stronger than me," Jenna explained. Her blue eyes never left Elijah's brown ones as she spoke. "I knew you were supernatural the moment we met." She raised the charm bracelet up for him to see. "This charm is a supernatural detection charm. When someone supernatural is near me, it will vibrate. I figured out you were a vampire after we started talking. You were very eloquent and knowledgeable about many things, which would have taken you years, if not decades to learn and master. Trust me when I say I've met a vampire like that, whose goal in his immortal life is to accumulate knowledge."

That and the fact that Elijah was quite the biter, chomping on her neck with his blunt teeth every time they had sex. Once he's satisfied, he tends to turn into a lazy cat, snuggling and taking pleasure in scenting her blood under her skin. She found it hot but no human man had ever bitten her or scented her so much during sex.

"Why did you come to the hotel with me? That night, I was hunting. Not just for a woman to take to bed but to feed on."

"I know," Jenna said. "You're a vampire, a predator, a hunter. That's why I talked to you for hours that night before I left the restaurant with you. If it was only about feeding on me, you would've just tried to compel me. But, the more we talked, the more your eyes told me that I was more than just a meal to you. I'm very good at reading people, Elijah."

She was good at reading Elijah when he was more at ease, however, at the moment, he was guarded. He had exceptional control of his emotions, not even allowing anything to show in his eyes. His stoicism spoke volumes to her though, telling her loud and clear that there was no trust or confidence between them.

There were many thoughts going through Elijah's mind. Jenna being friends with a Magus was the most important one.

He had lived for a thousand years and knew well the animosity witches had toward vampires. But Magi were different. They were pagans and did not believe in the same balance as witches. They did not see vampires as abominations and were more willing to work with vampires for a price. Though, that did not mean he trusted them more than he trusted witches. He judged them on a case-by-case basis. Niklaus was always looking for powerful allies and Magi were among some he had worked with. Some helped his family willingly while others were less inclined to.

He worked with witches when he needed the use of their abilities, but he did not trust witches. That did not mean that he trusted Magi any more than he trusted witches. Jenna was associated with a Magus, who could possibly be targeting him. But, he arrived in Boston just hours before he met Jenna. There was not enough time for a witch to know he was in the area and place Jenna in his path. If they were not targeting him, they would make excellent allies to have. From the conversation he heard between Jenna and her friend, there could be more than one Magus. Having a coven on-call would be much more beneficial than just the two Martin warlocks working with him. If he stayed close to Jenna, who was also a powerful supernatural being, he could gain the aid of her and her Magi-friends to find and kill his brother. He already had the aid of the Martin Witches, but it would only help rather than hurt if he had more allies.

The Magi were more elusive than witches. It had been centuries since he last worked with a Magus. The last he knew of cut all ties with his family after he had helped dagger his youngest brother over three hundred years ago. Elijah made a mental note to try to get into contact with the coven to see if they would be willing to work with him to avenge his youngest brother since Kol had been close to a previous coven leader.

"Jenna, I'm sure you can understand that I cannot trust you, especially when I don't know what type of supernatural creature you are, even if you are friends with Magi. Although the Magi are not as hostile to vampires as witches, there are still those who are not fond of my kind. I have to wonder if you and your friends targeted me. You were strong enough to kill 3 vampires with your bare hands."

Jenna stood up and squared her shoulders back as she faced Elijah, her eyes boring into his. "Elijah, if I were a normal woman, most likely, we would have never met. Even if we had met and we slept together, you would've fed on me and compelled me to forget you. My friends don't know about you. Since we met, we haven't lied to each other. I know both of us have kept many things to ourselves but I have never lied to you. If you believe that you can't trust me, then tell me to leave and we never have to see each other again. You won't have to worry about if I had targeted you to kill you or for some other reason."

They remained silent as they simply stood inches from one another. They stared into each other's eyes reading all the emotions, wanting to trust but unsure. Elijah closed his eyes. He wasn't as paranoid as his brother but caution had kept him alive for a thousand years. Jenna had done nothing for him to doubt her words. And if she was as strong as he thought she was and had powerful witch friends, she would be a great ally to have against his brother. "Very well, Jenna. However, should you try to harm me in any way, I will not hesitate to kill you."

A heavy tension fell between them as Jenna narrowed her eyes at Elijah. She would not take the threat to her life lightly but she was alone with him. Even with her newly awakened power, she did not know if she could take him on her own. At the same time, she didn't fault him for being cautious. If it was the other way around, she would also threaten him with bodily harm if he was planning on hurting her family. Jenna exhaled to release the tension. She shrugged her shoulders, "Fair enough."

Jenna lounged on the couch as she looked up at Elijah. "I know there's a lot you don't say about yourself. You, vampires, are such a secretive and paranoid bunch." She looked back up at Elijah. "But, I hope that someday soon you'll trust me enough to tell me about why you look so giddy over the fact that my friend is a Magus."

Elijah's lips curved up as he raised a brow at Jenna. "Giddy?" Over the centuries, Elijah had learned how to control his microexpressions so as to not give anything away about his true feelings. If Jenna had noticed the interest he took in Jenna's Magus-friend, he was either not as controlled as he thought he was or Jenna was just that good to notice his interest.

"You didn't deny that you have an interest in my magical friend," Jenna said. "Vampires are always looking to ally with witches. Magi are less prejudicial toward vampires. I noticed your body language."

Elijah sat on the couch beside her. "And what did my body language tell you."

Jenna smiled. "I'm a martial artist, Elijah. I have to be able to read my opponent to predict where they'll strike. I often spar with a vampire, who's so much faster than a human. You are much faster than him and your body's more controlled. But, when I mentioned Magus, your entire body stiffened with tension. Your eyes were on me but you were looking through me as you analyzed everything I said." Then Jenna shrugged. "Then again, I recently received a few abilities which include enhanced senses such as eyesight. A regular human wouldn't have been able to read you."

"You're not a regular human, then?"

Jenna was making a gamble on Elijah. For years she and her friends had been searching for information about her patron god but they were unable to find anything. She wasn't sure that they'd be able to find anything now. One of the reasons she hadn't told Phoebe and the others about her nightmares and her sudden bouts of strength before was because they were already busy with everything else, including finding a way to destroy Malivore. She had to figure things out on her own. It was why she was attracted to Elijah in the first place. He was well-learned and insightful. She had learned more about the other gods which she had no interest in before.

"No, I'm not," Jenna replied honestly. She had to figure things out on her own. She had three months before she would need to be in New York to start her internship. She could tell Elijah was an old vampire with the amount of control that he had. He could help her control her strength and senses and maybe he knew some other information he had accumulated over the centuries that could help her.

"Then, what are you?" he asked with curiosity in his eyes.

"I guess the closest description of it would be a hero." Elijah's brows shot up. "Not like a modern superhero, but more a Greek epic hero. The term my friend used is Child of the Gods. During the Trojan War, Athena empowered Diomedes that he was able to wound Ares in battle. I have a patron god, Bia, the Goddess of Physical Force and Might. I knew I had a patron god for years and she's been appearing in my dreams for over six months now, but I didn't know who she was until last night. I'm sure now you can see why I have super strength and speed even though I'm still human. I even had the Achilles treatment and took a dip in the River Styx. No Achilles heel, though."

"If what you say about the gods is true, then it makes sense for you to be embued with strength if your patron god is the personification of Force." Elijah's mind was working a mile a minute as he thought of all the possibilities for powers the goddess could bestow on Jenna. "She is the embodiment of strength and power. I wouldn't be surprised if your strength became proportional to your opponent. The vampires you fought last night were less than a decade old. Infants in terms of vampires. Young and inexperienced. If you faced a stronger opponent, a vampire several centuries old, it is likely that your strength would increase to match theirs." Elijah took Jenna's empty teacup from her and brought it to the kitchen. He quickly washed the cups and placed them to dry before returning to the couch. "From my observations of last night, I can tell that you don't have perfect control of your abilities." He extended a hand out to Jenna like the gentleman he was. "Come, I will train you."

"You want to train me? Why?"

"You said you're not a regular human. I disagree. Jenna, you are no longer human. You said it yourself: you are a child of the gods. You've had difficulty controlling your strength. The vampires you faced last night were able to break your wrist and injure your head. You cannot call upon your power at will, which is currently your greatest weakness. The only way to learn control is through practice and training."

Jenna looked up at him, her eyes wide as he repeated the same words that Bia had told her. "If you're able to overpower me with your strength, you will become one of the strongest beings in the world. Come."

Jenna looked up at him then down at his open hand. When she placed her hands in his palm without hesitation, he pulled her from the couch and guided her out.

"It's cruel to do this in your Armani suit. It's going to get dirty." Jenna squared off against Elijah in the cage. She was wearing shorts and a tight tank top with her hair up in a ponytail while Elijah was still in his suit pants and dress shirt. "Do you compel your dry cleaner to ignore the blood?"

Elijah's lips curved into a smirk as he stood still in front of Jenna. "We'll see if you're good enough to get blood on it."

Bia smiled as she watched the two train through the Obsidian Mirror. She raised her head up when she sensed a familiar presence approaching her before she even felt the displacement of the wind caused by her sister's wings. She watched as her sister came to rest silently on the pedestal before her wings disappeared.

Nike stepped in front of Bia, observing the vampire parry the champion's strikes before he pinned her to the floor. "I know you're a good fighter, Jenna. I want you to show me your power. Show me the power you used to kill those vampires" said the man.

Nike looked at her sister. "Are you going to tell me why you chose a champion now? Had it been any time before, she could have been an Amazon. Her name would've been known the world over through epics, songs, and poems. In the current era, these great heroes can only live in the shadows."

"The rest of the world may not know her name, but I know she will be remembered by the ones who matter," Bia said as she watched Jenna and Elijah's interactions. "The Champions of the previous era were arrogant. They sought glory for glory's sake and they all died young. I know she will outlive all of them." Bia looked up at her younger sister. "And you will not withhold victory from her, now, will you, sister?"

Nike walked behind Bia and wrapped her arms around her sister's shoulders. She smiled. "As you wish, sister. Besides, I quite like your champion. She is humble, loyal, intelligent, and very determined. She is also kind-hearted. She did not have to, but she attacked those vampires to help that child even though she was putting herself in danger. I like her. You've chosen well. How did she come to cross paths with one of Persephone's children?"

"I believe it was the will of the Moirai. I have seen the tapestry woven by the three sisters. They believed it would be more interesting to have the progenitor cross paths with her before their identities in relation to the doppelganger are revealed. A fog has been placed over their minds. While the Hybrid and his brother search for the Magi and the Children search for the progenitors, they will not realize one another's identities until the fog is removed. It is not yet time for them to know one another."

Jenna wrapped her legs around Elijah's waist as she flipped him onto his back, straddling his hips as she pinned him beneath her. She placed her hand on the left side of his chest over his heart. "If I had my batons, you'd be dead right now."

"You shouldn't need them. You should be able to reach into my chest to grasp my heart."

Does anyone have any ideas for pairings? Phoebe is getting a boyfriend. I'm already leaning toward Elijah and Jenna. I may or may not do Klaroline, depending on how things go and I'm keeping Sage and Finn since I think those two deserve a better happy ending than the show gave them (I loved Cassidy Freeman in Smallville. She was freaking wasted on TVD). Other pairings I'm thinking about are Matt x Rebekah or Rebekah x Enzo or even Rebekah x Ria (I just want Bex to have her happy ending. She deserves all the love). The other characters are hanging free right now. I don't like friends exchanging partners so if any of these couples break up, I won't have them switch and date someone else in the group.

What other pairings would people like to see? Please put them in the review box. I want to see how I may be able to fit different pairings into the story. I have a lot of friendship pairings but not a lot of romantic pairings.

Now that two of our characters have sexual partners, should I go in all the way with the smut or leave it? If anyone wants smut, I'll write it in and change the rating to M. Leave a review and tell me what you think.
