Chapter 2 - Monkey D. Lucy

Lucy - 5, Ace - 8

Ace hates his family. Well maybe not everyone. He loves his mom. His aunt and her friends were okay. His 'grampa' is meh. His dad was soooo not okay.

Everything that went wrong in his life is because of his bastard father and his friends. His father was the former underworld king.

Before meeting his mom, he commanded all the underworld unto his thumb. He was feared by all. But as the saying goes, all the bad boys turn a new leaf because of love. He snorted at himself. "Fuck true love." He watched as her mom gave his dad loving smiles and laughed at how both Roger and Garp laughed.

His dad, Roger stopped or retired from his position after meeting Rogue. He was actually surprised that even after all these years, Roger never returned to the underworld life he had. But even so he retired, his past will always come after him, or more importantly for him.

Because of his background as the son of the former underworld King, the shitty old man was so determined to turn him into a marine! Every visit, he would throw him into 'training'. He was so sure the old man was trying to kill him most of the time! I mean throwing him in a pitless ravine and throwing him in the jungle and leaving him for the weekend alone. And his bastard of a father just laughed it off. At least his mom would glare at the old man or even hit him.

After the first 'training' of the old man, he returned full of bruises that Rogue demanded to the end of that 'training'. But then the week after that the old man kidnap him in the middle of the night for training and returns him on Sunday afternoon, right on time for lunch.

Rogue tried so hard to stop it and when it was not working, she would just pack up a survival bag for him for whatever 'training' the old man would throw him in. He was just glad the old man never got that bag.

The friends (gang) of his dad, would come by from now and then to drink with his dad and sometimes train him properly. But still, he hates them. They would lightly suggest he follow in the footsteps of his dad.

But what he is really angry about today is that the damn family friend they were waiting for is an hour late.

He sighs for the nth time that day, and glared at the offending door.

They're waiting for the family friend. The biological son of the shitty old man and his daughter. They're waiting for a damn hour and he's so fucking hungry.

Just like magic the door suddenly opened and there stood a tall scary man with a tribal tattoo on his face holding a small girl in his arms.

"Dragon!" His father exclaimed the moment he saw the man enter his home

"I see you take after your father for not knocking." Rogue laughed "Well at least you don't destroy the wall or the door." she looked at Garp laughing merrily at the arrival of his son "Or just that you're using the door."

"Roger, long time." The man, Dragon, greeted. He showed the small girl in his arms. "This is Lucy." he looked at the girl "Say 'hello' Lu."

She looked up at them innocently, with her big and innocent eyes. She smiled brightly "Hello, nice to meet you!"

"Oh my! What a cute girl you are!" Rogue squealed, taking the girl from Dragon to her arms as quick as lighting, making the man gaped at the speed of Rogue.

"Really?" Lucy asked cutely "You're sooooooo pretty!" Lucy threw her arm wide "This much!"

"Adorable!" Rogue squealed again. She looked back at Dragon who is now back from the shock "Can I keep her?"

Dragon looked at her blankly "No."

Rogue pouted. She smiled again to Lucy "Let me introduce you to my son!" She said excitedly, eyes showed an evil plan forming on her head "If I can't keep you by kidnapping you, maybe I can keep you if you marry my son." Rogue murmured not loud enough for Lucy to hear, but loud enough for Ace to hear

"Hello!" Lucy greeted as Rogue place her down in front of the frowning Ace

Ace stared at her smiling face and quickly decided that he doesn't like this girl. This cute smiling innocent girl. Nope.

"I'm Monkey D. Lucy! Let's be friends!" Lucy greeted again grinning from ear to ear

"I don't like to be your friend." Ace glared

Lucy pouted "But, why?" she leaned to Ace's face so close making him blush

Ace pushed the girl slightly "You're too close!"

"You're red!" Lucy shouted in surprise at how red Ace could get. "Oh you got freckles!" Lucy said leaning closer and closer until they're nose to nose

"You got a problem with my freckles?" He half shouted trying to glare (trying, because he failed miserably in glaring at the girl) at Lucy. He liked his freckles so much, even if others say otherwise. It's an exact replica of his mom's freckles.

Lucy smiled widened "I liked it! It looks cute on you!"

Ace looked away and leaned back to get space from the girl, but Lucy leaned closer as he leaned back.

On the other side of the table, all the adults silently watch the interaction of the two.

Roger gaped at how embarrassed his son was. Garp was laughing so hard. Dragon stares with a frown. While Rogue was already on her own world planning the wedding of his adorable son and the adorable little girl that seems to take the interest of her son.

"I'm gonna have a very adorable daughter in law!" She squealed

"Stop it Rogue. My daughter is 5." Dragon frowned

"And in 15 years she'll be 20, old enough to get married." Rogue argued

"Can you stand back a bit?" Ace said as soon as he felt the headrest of his chair

"Shishishishi. Okay." Lucy said still grinning. She looked around and stopped when she saw the old man "Grampa!" she yelled and run towards the old man

"Oh my sweet innocent little Lucy!" Garp picked up the girl and hugged her tightly, rubbing their cheeks together. Ace swore he could see flowers and hearts fluttering on the background of Garp and Lucy and they giggled happily.

"She's spoiled isn't she?" Roger laughed

"You don't have any idea." Dragon smiled "That girl can get anything she wants with that innocent smile of hers. She's not even aware of that power."

"Ohhhh." Roger whistled "What a dangerous power

"You should see the girl's pout. If you didn't agree with that smile, you sure hell will when she pouts."

Rogue giggled "Is that what happened to you?"

He looked at Rogue and grinned "Nope. It's what happened to Garp."

Roger and Rogue were shocked and curious "What happened?"

"Listen Lucy, you will be a marine like me one day okay?" Garp told the adorable little girl that is staring at him innocently

"What's a marine?" Lucy asked

"We are the people who fight injustice and you'll be like us, okay?"

"But I don't wanna be a marine! I wanna be a…" Lucy stopped and looked around for help "- a princess!"

Garp frowned "Like those bastard nobles?"

"What are those?" Lucy asked

A light voice giggled "Lucy, your gramps can't understand you." A figure of the lady entered the room, picked up the girl and placed her on her lap as she took the seat in front of Garp. "Why don't you show gramps your storybooks?"

Lucy smiled "Okay mommy!'' She leapt out of her mom's lap and ran to her room. When she returned she was holding a bunch of storybooks and gave it to Garp who lifted a brow "This is Cinderella, Aurora, Mulan, Merida-" she kept on listing all the princess in her fairytale books

Garp stares at Stacy, Lucy's mom in confusion. She laughed at the confused face of Garp and smiled "This is the princess you like Lucy?"

"Yeah!" Lucy smiled again "I wanna be a princess and find a pretty prince!" she giggled

"You can't be a princess, Lucy." Garp tried to explain. Stacy frowned and glared at Garp, warning him. But the warning was ignored. "You have to be born a noble to be a princess."

Lucy looked at him in confusion and when she understood what her gramps told her, she frowned "I can't?"

Stacy panicked "Of course you can! You're my princess!"

"Stacy, it's not good to spoil Lucy. She needs to understand the world right now." Garp sternly said

"But…" Lucy looked back pouting. Garp could feel his resolve dropping

"No is a no, Lucy."

"But I want to wear pretty dresses." Lucy almost whispered, tears starting to form

Garp stared at Lucy in shock. He is not good with any crying child, more so his own grandchild.

"Then I can't wear pretty dresses then? Cause I can't be a princess." Lucy asked looking at Garp's soul

The moment the first tear fell her face, every hold Garp had in his previous claim snapped. He immediately kneeled in front of Lucy and picked her up rocking her "No baby! I lied, you can be anything you want to be! You want to be a princess? We'll attack a country so you could be a real princess!"

Stacy laughed as she watched Garp console the girl making impossible promises. Promises that can be as well seen as treason. Promising colonizing a country and kidnapping a prince.

"Oh my God!" Rogue laughed completely amused

"And dad never mentioned being a marine ever again." Dragon said

"Well, if Lucy wants to be a princess she could always just marry Ace." Roger grinned with Rogue

Dragon lifted his eyebrow and looked back at the grinning couple "Why would I allow my adorable daughter marry your son?"

"I'm the former King of the underworld, Dragon. It means our son is a prince." Roger announced proudly

Dragon snorted "Yeah sure. Dad would 'reaally' like that idea."

Rogue giggled "I'm sure if Lucy says, Garp would let her."

Dragon glanced back at the Garp and Lucy and chuckled "You know what, you might be right. Lucy could be the worst criminal and Garp would do nothing because it's Lucy."

.

.

Ace frowned as he listened to the story of Dragon. He glances back at Lucy now pulling Garp to the table to start eating.

If she can manipulate the old man to do whatever she wants, then Lucy is a dangerous person. He as hell would not want to get close to her.

If only Ace knew what the future held for him. It was better to just go with it than fight it.
