Smokescreen followed behind Ultra Magnus, waiting for him to turn around and start blasting fire blaster's. Not that he wouldn't blame him, he wanted to kill himself when he found out. He wasn't proud of his creator, he wasn't proud of the things he's creator had done. Smokescreen avoids looking at his reflection, he couldn't bear looking at himself knowing who had a part in his creation, which was another reason why he switched his colors. Now that he has Steele, and if it wasn't for his son, Smokescreen would beg for Ultra Magnus to bring the rain.
But I can't, Smokescreen thought to himself as they turned to turn into the base. My son and my mate need me.
After entering the base, Ultra Magnus transformed, and without so much of a word to Optimus, he walked off to his grand sparklings. Then, WheelJack transformed and strode over to Senti with his servo's behind his back, smiling a teasing smile at her.
"What's that smile for?" Senti asked, giggling as she stood up, placing her servo's on her waist pads. Swaying her hip pads in a teasing manner. Smokescreen rolled his optics humorously, even though they wedded before Smokescreen joined the team, WheelJack and Senti still acted like they were young lovers. "You know I love that smile, but that always meant your hiding something. So, what are you hiding?"
"Got somethin' for ya." He said, stopping in front of her. Slowly, he pulled out the shield and held it out to her. Senti gasped, her bright blue optics wide in shock as she stared at the shield. Cautiously, she grasped the shield and held it in her servo's.
"My brother's shield." Senti whispered, holding the shield tightly to her chest plate. What made WheelJack's spark ache was her smile, she only used that smile when she was hiding her feelings. He didn't need to ask to know what she was feeling, and he didn't know how to help her. "Where did you find it?"
"Surprisingly, in one of the broken buildings in Jasper." WheelJack said, startled to see her jump up to him and wrapped her arms around WheelJack, hugging him tightly. "Aw, come on babe, no need to thank me."
"Sometimes, they are just too cute to be a hard hide couple." Bianna commented, walking up to Smokescreen. "He finally got something for her, and it nearly made her cry."
"Normally it's not ok to make your mate cry. I think she feel's worse then she's letting on."
"Speaking of feeling worse, what's up with my dad?" Bianna asked, noticing Ultra Magnus's stare at the monitor screen." He's acting sorta strange, I mean, more than his usual self."
"We ran into some trouble." Smokescreen began to explain, his spark heavy with disappointment and shame. Although he knew the answer was a bit vague given their situation lately. But how else could he put it?
"Trouble?" Bianna asked, her faceplate scowling at Smokescreen. Although he didn't mean it, it felt that Smokescreen's words were meant as an insult to her creator. "What kind of trouble? Remember, my dad is Ultra Magnus, leader of the Wrecker's. He can handle all kinds of trouble."
"Yeah, big trouble."
"Wanna talk about it?" Bianna asked, Smokescreen grinned and tilted his head. As if she was giving him an option, she always had her way of getting the truth out of her sparklings. Then she would use it against the team.
"I got one word for you; Roads."
Bianna's faceplate hardened, she, like everyone else, knew who Roads' was. She also knew what he could do to anybot of his choosing, especially his own son. "Roads? As in..."
"Yeah, him." Smokescreen replied, looking out the open hanger door. " He attacked us, Ultra Magnus found out who he is and how he knows me, and now he won't even look at me."
"Well, I'm sure I can get him to calm down. At least to the point to where he can at least speak to you." Bianna said, patting Smokescreen's shoulder pad comfortingly. "He can't be mad forever."
"Bianna, you got enough to deal with-"
"And so do you." Bianna insisted, gesutring to Tier who was holding a rowdy Steele. " More so than I. I'll deal with dad, you deal with you're little mech. I think he has a surprise for you."
Glancing over at Tier and Steele, Smokescreen smiled with pride, seeing his son grow at a rapid rate. Even Ratchet was surprised to see the youngest sparkling grow as quickly as he was. Then again, time seemed to slip past by unknowingly. Primas knows how much time has passed and how much Steele has grown. Tier looked up, smiling an excited smile at Smokescreen.
"So daddy," Tier chirped, standing next to Bianna. "We have a little surprise for you. Watch what he can do."
She set Steele down on the ground, balancing him on his landing pads. Smiling a small smile, Smokescreen lowered down to Steele's level, hoping the surprise was what he and Tier have been hoping for since Steele could stand. Tier released her grip on him, letting him balance on his own. For a moment, he wobbled back and forth, then he lifted one landing pad after the other, walking up to his creator. Smokescreen's optics went wide with shock, his mouth valve forming a wide smile as he held his arms out.
"Look at you, growing up so fast." Smokescreen commented, watching Steele walk closer to Smokescreen's arms.
"I can walk, now, dad!" Steele cried in excitement, smiling in joy as he walked into his father's arms. "I'll get big in no time."
"Don't get too excited about it yet, buddy."Smokescreen said grimly, hoping that Steele wouldn't have to fight in the war. What Smokescreen hoped for the most was that his son wouldn't have to grow up in the same situation as he did. Smokescreen still remembered running around, hiding from Roads, living under his mom's incognito name. It was like one never ending pattern of running and hiding, all just to keep him alive.
And it was all in vain, Smokescreen thought to himself as Tier waltzed over and took Steele into her arms.
"You best listen to your creator, Steele." Tier said, almost like a command. She would never admit it to Smokescreen, but she became jealous of her mate after their son's activation. Tier hoped that Steele would have inherited most of her exterior metals, instead, his CNA decided to take his creator's exterior metals and now resemble's more like Smokescreen. " Beside's, I think you should stay this little forever. And mother's always know what is best."
"No way, mommy!" Steele cried, squirming in her arms again. "I wanna get big so I can be a guard."
"A guard?" Smokescreen asked as Tier set him down.
"Yeah, like you, dad." Steele said, walking again.
"Children, how would you like to hear a story?" Ultra Magnus asked the seven sparklings.
"A story? Is it full of explosions? Is there any fighting in it? " Tobit asked, over excitedly. Like his carrier, he loved a good story. Irnoically, he didn't pay attention to his Cybertron Chronicle's.
"Well, Tobit, the story is more of a legend."
"Legend? Like the Predacon's?" Kade asked, looking away from the monitor. Once again, he busied himself helping Ratchet with completing formula's since they moved to a new base. But he always found time to listen to a legend on Cybertron.
"Well, something relevant to Predacon's. The legend is about a horde of beast's that are rumored to be the predecessors of the Predacon's." Ultra Magnus answered like he was repeating a quote from a historical data. Sitting down, he crossed his legs and signaled for the other sparklings, including Steele, to join him.
"Beast's that are older than the Predacons?" WheelJack whispered, finding himself interested in hearing Ultra Magnus's story along with a few of the Autogirls.
"Something like that, WheelJack." Ultra Magnus replied, smiling a knowing smile, he figured WheelJack was feeling embarrassed that Ultra Magnus heard his question. "The Beast were once rumored to be technorganic."
"What's that?" Kade asked, Ultra Magnus grinned at Kade's interest. He was proud that Kade was as an intelligent mech, and being so young, he no doubt was basically a prodigy.
No doubt Kades intelligence is a trait inherited from you, Ultra Magnus thought as nostalgia washed over his spark like oil on the streets.
"Technorganic is a combination of technology with organic material." Ultra Magnus explained, surprised he was still as fascinated with these legendary creatures as he did in his youth. "No one knows how they were created, or how they came to be on Cybertron. What we do know is that when they arrived on Cybertron, their system's mutated with Cybertron's infected soil."
"Infected soil?" Kade asked, wondering what he meant. His processor buzzing around, wondering if infected meant tainted with energon, a piece of land where their ancestor's went to die.
"To answer your question in the most honest and historically correct, it is possible the soil was infected from a nuclear test or a science lab explosion." Ultra Magnus answered, wondering if that rumor was true. Would science exsist in that era? Even so, how could organic material morph with Cybertron's cna? " It is, also, said the Beast are as strong as Predacons."
"Gonna give Predaking a run for his money." Blur joked to Tobit.
"They were under the rule of one bot, one of our ancestors." Ultra Magnus glaring at Blur and Tobit who had stopped laughing automatically. " Their ruler was more powerful than either one of them, he was the one who controlled the Beast. Rumor has it they journeyed to Earth eons before the war. Many have been mistaken for Earth's mythical creatures such as this 'Lock Ness Monster' or 'Megladon'. Those who have remained on Cybertron, slumber deep under Cybertron, waiting for the return of their master."
"Who would their master be?" Aura asked.
"I cannot say for sure, but the legend says they will only obey the bot who has a pure spark. "
"Are they still there?" Kade asked, hoping he would find them.
"I am not sure, Kade. Perhaps, perhap's not."
