"Ah, now we're in business! Switch track!"
"Playing track: Arena."
Alright Rider, round two it is. Let's see what you're up to…
"Main body, reset formation. Based on this approach… Group three, switch to door five. Group two is on standby at door four. Good. Group six, emerge and pull back. Bait the enemy to swing wide around… Group one on standby, door seventeen… That works. Group five, lets have you- hmm?"
Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a monitor turn black. A few seconds later, another one followed. That wasn't good. I didn't think the arrows would be powerful enough to destroy them. At least not that quickly. What was- Ah, I see!
"What's the matter, priest? Not a fan of the music" I laughed, switching over to control of the cameras, raising them out of range as another ball of fire barely missed it's target of a third camera.
Must have been one of those black keys of his. The keys themselves probably weren't destroying the cameras, but the flames would cook the electronics within, that's for sure.
"Would rather not have you watching our every move, more like!"
"Ah, so you've figured it out! That should make this far more entertaining!"
"Enough of your games, heretic!"
I would have taunted him further, but there was only so much even I could manage. Rider was definitely committed to this assault, that's for sure.
"Group six, hold position! Group one, engage the enemy, support group six! Main body, extend right wing! Group seven, engage! Group one, disengage! Group two, engage! Group five- ah shit, group five adjust! Group six, fall back! Group two, disengage, return through door two! Group four, engage, support the right wing! Group five, engage, support left flank of main unit! Main unit, fall back! Convert right wing of main unit to new group: group eight… Group eight, disengage!"
Shit. Shit, shit, shit! This wasn't good; I was being pushed back from the doors. Blasted mobility gap between our forces was huge! I needed to see further ahead if I wanted to stand a chance here; only way to make up the difference! But what was the pattern here?! Even if it's subconscious, there must be a patter to the movements of Rider's forces! If I could just get a read on-
"Gah! Fucking hell, they're still in range" I sputtered as I turned to a monitor that was providing me a key viewpoint, only to discover that within mere moments from my last look, it was now blacked out. "Pull up, zoom in!"
Too much to focus on! Too much to monitor! Too much to do! Rider had to momentum! I needed to blunt it! I needed an-
"Opening! Right there! Main unit, hold position! Group one, engage! Group two, emerge and engage the enemy's left flank. Group six, wrap wide left! Group eight, wrap wide right! Group seven, disengage, return through door eleven, switch to door thirteen! Group five, disengage, return through door three, switch to door eight! Main unit, pull back! Group three, guard rear of group six! Group four, guard rear of group eight!"
Or, in other words, guard the wings of the crane wing formation.
"More of a naval formation than a ground-based formation, but the conditions are set for it, at least against Rider's askar, which are honestly the bigger threat. Even the power of the composite recurve bow isn't going to take out a control unit. At least not easily or quickly."
And, of course, two units to emerge directly behind the enemy once the encirclement is sprung, because what would this battle be without the Daedalus special?
"Yo, Caster, got a moment" I paged through the PA system as I continued to monitor and adjust to form the trap.
"Not if you want this thing done, child!"
"Great! I need five… no, seven new cameras launched!"
"Seven!? How in Hades' name did you lose seven cameras already?!"
"Not important! Set them to eight, twenty-one, twenty-three, thirty-five, forty-two, forty-four, and forty-eight! Thank you!"
"You-"
Before Caster could finish, I turned off the PA system.
"Sorry Caster, but I'm a bit busy… Group one, begin to fall back! Group two, fall back!"
Allow the enemy to push in, and right before the center is overwhelmed…
"Time to tip the scales! All units, engage! Oh, and switch track."
"Playing track: Sun Quan The Emperor."
"…I forgot I even added that in here" I laughed. "Whoops. Sorry, Saber!"

Man, midterms week is always rough! So glad it's done and I can get back to writing xD
That said, writing this... I dunno... I suppose it just isn't translating into what I envisioned it would be. Like, I can picture the movements and shit perfectly fine and have it all make sense in my head, but in terms of translating that to the page? When I read this back... I just don't feel it. Doing something like this either needs a visual component, or a more competent writer, I think ;)
