WHERE DID IT ALL GO SO WRONG!?; R4 wailed as she and Obi-Wan blazed through hyperspace. The duo had just barely managed to escape from Cody and his battalion on Utapau and were currently en route to Coruscant.

"I'm not quite sure myself;" Kenobi replied, "It would seem the clones weren't as loyal as we were led to believe."

So what do we do now?

"Well, I think our first move should be to try and contact any other surviving Jedi. I sense we're not the only ones who were targeted. I have an idea, go ahead and exit hyperspace."

Leaving hyperspace.

As R4 continued piloting the ship at normal speed, Obi-Wan began punching some commands into his control console.

"Emergency Code Nine Thirteen ... I have no contact on any frequency. Are there any Jedi out there? . . . anywhere . . .;" Obi-Wan called through the ship's comms.

A burst of static was heard before a fuzzy hologram appeared.

"...Kenobi…;" came a familiar voice.

"I've locked on. Repeat," Obi-Wan responded.

Hang on. I'll boost the signal.

The hologram finally came into focus to reveal senator Bail Organa of Alderaan.

"Master Kenobi?;" he repeated.

"Senator Organa! My Clone Troops turned on me ... I need help."

"We have just rescued Master Yoda. It appears this ambush has happened everywhere. We're sending you our coordinates."

"R4, plot a hyperspace jump."

I just did; R4 replied and soon they were entering hyperspace once more.

(Approximately 1 hour later. Alderaan starcruiser space.)

R4 wheeled along behind her master as they followed Organa through a hallway. They were soon met by Master Yoda.

"Master Kenobi, dark times are these. Good to see you. it is;" Yoda greeted.

"You were attacked by your Clones, also?;" Obi-Wan asked.

"With the help of the Wookiees, barely escaped, I did."

"How many other Jedi managed to survive?"

"Heard from no one, have we."

"I saw thousands of troops attack the Jedi Temple. That's why I went looking for Yoda.;" Bail added.

"Have we had any contact from the Temple?;" Obi-Wan asked the two of them.

"Received a coded retreat message, we have."

"It requests all Jedi to return to the Temple. It says that the war is over . . ."

"Well, then we must go back! If there are other stragglers, they will fall into the trap and be killed."

"It's too dangerous to return."

"Suggest dismantling the coded signal, do you?"

"Yes, Master;" Kenobi said, "There is too much at stake here, and we need a clearer picture of what has happened."

"I agree. In a dark place we find ourselves ... a little more knowledge might light our way."

The trio and the droid made their way to the cruiser's command deck as conversation continued. R4 decided to look around the room when something caught her eye.

Senator Organa! You have an incoming message!; she beeped.

"Patch it through, little friend;" he replied.

R4 plugged into a console and her holoprojector lit up to reveal senator Mas Amedda.

"Senator Organa . . . the Supreme Chancellor of the Republic requests your presence at a special session of Congress;" he said.

"Tell the Chancellor I will be there;" Bail responded.

"Very well. He will be expecting you;" Mas Amedda said as his hologram dissipated."

"It could be a trap;" Bail said.

"No, I don't think so. The Chancellor will not be able to control the thousands of star systems without keeping the Senate intact;" Kenobi argued.

"If a special session of Congress there is, easier for us to enter the Jedi Temple it will be."

"Then it's settled. Master Yoda and I will use the opportunity to infiltrate the Jedi temple;" Obi-Wan said. He was met with string of binary from R4.

"What did she say?;" he asked.

"It seems she wants to accompany you, Master Kenobi;" Bail translated, "I must say, I've never seen such devotion in a droid other than Skywalker's R2 unit."

"Very well R4, if you insist;" her master smiled.

Yes! I won't let you down, Master!; she cheered.

A/N: And I'm back! Sorry I took so long with this one guys. I have a bad habit of procrastinating but here you go. And just in time for Halloween which wasn't really my intention but whatever. We're getting into the endgame of ROTS. Pretty soon, we'll be well on our way to the original trilogy (if I can stay focused enough) and you better believe I've got big plans for our little cherry-vanilla girl.
