Chapter | Eighteen

Luka had been feeling off the past few days, but he wasn't sure why. He knew something wasn't right, but he couldn't place what it was. Paris had been the calmest it has ever been in the past four years, and it was an adjustment for everyone. There was a lot more life and emotion in the public now that Hawkmoth couldn't use it against anyone. Of course Luka felt bad for both Chloe and Adrien, their fathers had been arrested for multiple different charges but they had also been the cause of other people's suffering.

They had caused Marinette's suffering, and Chloe's and Adrien's. It wasn't fair to anyone of them, or anyone in the city. Luka did feel for all of them, because now he understood. If anything he understood Marinette better than he ever had, and all she sacrificed for them. All her losses and her pain, it had happened because of Gabriel. He couldn't help but wonder if she felt a sense of peace now that Hawkmoth had been caught. That maybe now she felt safe again.

Then there was the whole kwami situation and how he now permanently had Sass in his possession. Initially when he saw the box Sass's bracelet resided in, he was a bit confused since Ladybug usually was the one who handed him Sass personally in the events he was needed. Yet it had been Sass who informed him that it was one of the Guardian's last wishes that all true holders were in possession of their miraculous. Luka still wasn't sure what that meant.

When he had transformed into Viperion that one night at Sass's request, and saw the other holders he knew something had changed. Of course he had noticed one key element missing that night as well, or person, since Ladybug was no where to be seen. Then Chat Noir had openly admitted Ladybug hadn't been around due to the fact she had been emotionally compromised the past few months. The gears in his head had started working when he remembered the last time he was an akuma. Ladybug had actually shown up that time, and there was no coincidence that it was the same day everything had happened with Marinette mentioning Peter.

It had made sense, of course. Everything she wouldn't tell him and all the added stress it had to put on her. Now all the things that happened with her parents and the butterfly miraculous, he wondered how she was doing. The thought made him glance at his phone as he debated on actually picking up, and decided now would be the best time. Calling now would show he cared about her and how she was doing, and hopefully was enough to show her that he wasn't mad. And that was exactly what he did- he picked up his phone, dialed, waited and then got a voice mail.

"You've reached Marinette! Sorry I missed your call but leave a name and number and I'll get back to you as soon as I can!"

Luka frowned at that, but he also knew she probably didn't want to talk much right now. Especially with him and how he's kinda dodged her a few times in order to get his own head right. Kagami tells him not to blame himself, but it was something she couldn't understand. Not this time. Marinette had been special to him the moment he laid eyes on her in his room that first time. He wanted to protect her from the world.

Yet that was her job, and she did a good job of it. She saved everyone where they had failed her, he had failed her and he blamed himself. It was a concept Kagami would never understand merely because her mind didn't work like that. They came from different backgrounds, different family morals. Though it didn't change anything. Marinette was still not here, and she probably would never be home in Paris again.

There was nothing tying her to this city anymore, besides maybe Chat Noir- a.k.a Adrien Agreste and Chloe. After figuring Marinette out the others were easy too, and honestly it was all one big joke. Marinette had been chasing after Adrien who had been chasing after her, and now she left him too. Luka could see the difference in Adrien, how he seemed more mature and spoke less and less about Ladybug or Marinette.

It didn't change anything though, because now they were a group of teenagers with different miraculous. They all had a different kwamis who had no answers, just that this was how it was supposed to be. Which really didn't help anyone. Luka knew that there was someone who protected the kwami's, a guardian that at least Sass referred too but he never said who it was. It didn't change the fact that Luka felt something was going to happen, and his gut feeling has never let him down.

Not yet at least.

"Chat Noir is calling a meeting right now." Sass announces to Luka, breaking the young man out of his thought process.

Luka looked over at the snake kwami, nodding. "Sass, scales slither."

Luka had gotten the message from Chat Noir, asking to meet on top of Le Grand Paris. It dawned on Luka the most probable way tonight was going to go, and in fact it would change everything. Taking a deep breath, Luka slipped out his very narrow window since Juleka was somewhere around, probably with Rose.

Adrien had watched Plagg go through his emotions, and at first it was amusing. Then it was worrisome since Plagg was worried, and well Plagg was Plagg. He never worried about anything that wasn't his camembert cheese. Yet the past few hours that had gone by one expressed a declining mood in Plagg.

Adrien knew that of Plagg was stressed about something it was worth asking what it was on the kwami's mind. Yet just as that thought came to mind, Adrien felt a pain in his chest. It was a pain he never felt before, a snapping pain in his chest. He imagined it was what a rubber band would feel after being ripped.

Trying to shake it off, Adrien's green eyes shifted to look at Plagg. The kwami was floating by the window, just staring out of the glass. Somehow Adrien felt the deep sadness that he knew belonged to Plagg go through him, and Adrien knew that something was wrong.

"Plagg?" Adrien called softly.

"You felt it too right?" Plagg ignored his hidden question, "The snapping sensation?"

Adrien slowly nodded, "Was that us?"

"No, it was our bond with Tikki and Marinette." Plagg looked away, "It snapped. I can't feel her."

"That's not good right?" Adrien stupidly asks, but he had too. He needed to understand this pain that was thudding in his chest.

Plagg shook his head, "Far from it. It means something is wrong with Tikki and pigtails. It could throw a lot of things off balance if out bonds snapped. They kept us balanced, and we kept them balanced."

"What does this mean?" Adrien asks his kwami, but Plagg didn't answer. In fact Plagg wouldn't even look at him. "Plagg! Tell me, please."

Plagg looked up at Adrien with the saddest eyes the kwami ever had shown, "Bonds break when someone dies. Marinette went through a lot, but could she handle it?"

Adrien gave Plagg a bewildered look, "Marinette would never do that."

"Have you spoken to her? Chloe hasn't been able to reach her. Have you?" Plagg retorts almost snappy. "She's all the way in New York, you don't actually know."

Adrien had already grabbed his phone and dialed Marinette's number. It automatically went to voicemail, and it caused a knot to tighten in his stomach. What if something had happened to Marinette? How would he truly know? If their bond snapped, and she was gone then what was he supposed to do? She was the Ladybug to his Chat Noir, his partner from the beginning.

"Emergency meeting with the others, call them Plagg. Please" Adrien softly orders, taking a deep breath.

It was weird knowing that he had taken on the role of leader in their group, because the whole time it had been Ladybug, had been Marinette. She was so involved in the city life, in the hero life and now she seemed to be a ghost. Adrien just hoped she was okay, because deep down in the pit of his stomach he knew something was wrong.

Despite his father going to prison, Adrien had been doing okay. He knew that everything would be okay for him at least, even if everything seemed uncertain at the moment. He knew he had Chloe as a friend, and honestly she was his best friend at the moment helping him get through the motions. Nino and him were still rocky, but he had been tolerating him ever since he saw Marinette at the funeral.

Then there was Alya, who was trying to find herself again after Lila's arrest. Adrien felt bad for her because she lost a lot of friends and he also felt guilty since he originally to Marinette to take the high road when she wanted to tell the truth. He was stupid for making that choice because it ultimately led to this outcome, and it led to Marinette leaving to New York.

Now that he couldn't feel their connection, Adrien could tell things were unbalanced. He felt out of orbit and it was a weird sensation to experience. Plagg had sparked a new worry in him about Marinette, especially since Chloe had told him Marinette had her identity compromised with Master Fu's, and that was why she couldn't come home after the defeat of Hawkmoth. There was another threat out there, but he wasn't sure if it was to all of them or just Marinette because she was the new guardian.

Which lead to to the next question, what would a person want the guardian for? There was no way in hell Marinette would give the box up that easily. He could only hope she was safe and that her phone was broken or dead. It wasn't unusual for her to forget to charge her phone, but still if Plagg was worried then something wasn't right.

"Plagg, claws out." Adrien called for his transformation and took off into the cold Paris night towards the Eiffel Tower.

A part of Adrien wished everything could go back to normal, to the simpler days where everyone was here and worked together. Days were Tom and Sabine still opened the bakery and welcomed everyone with the warmest smiles. Where his own mother was still alive and his father was kind and caring. It was all a dream though, a dream he wished could be a reality but reality was harsh and unforgiving.

The city was quiet, even though more people roamed around in the night life. Crime rates were still in the low, most of the citizens just wanted to enjoy the peaceful time of not having to worry about Hawkmoth and had taken to the new protectors of the city. The most difficult thing to hear were the rumors about Ladybug. People had speculated that she had abandoned the city, left without a care because she wasn't around. They don't and would never know what she had sacrificed for this city, and how much she loved this city and how much it broke her heart.

Shaking those thoughts from his head, Chat Noir landed on the Eiffel Tower with ease. Honeybee was already there, and so was Viperion and Carapace. Not too long after did Rena Rouge and Ryuko show up as well, all looking a bit concerned that Chat Noir called an emergency meeting. For them, the blonde had been more quiet and reserved, of course Honeybee knew why- it was the same reasons she had been more too herself lately too. Yet just seeing his green eyes she knew that something different was bothering him.

"I'm not really good at this whole leading thing, it had always been more of Ladybug's thing." Chat Noir started out, "She always had a plan and knew what to do, but I'm at a loss. I don't know what she would say, but I think this would be a lot more easier to say if we knew everyone under the mask."

Rena raised an eyebrow, "Like reveal our identities?"

"Yes." Chat Noir nodded, "I'll admit Honeybee and I know who you all are, since we know Ladybug's identity. It's only fair to you to know ours as well, and well you guys are also true holders so this team will be around for a while."

Chloe was a little bit surprised at Adrien's choice, mostly because it kind of blindsided her. He never mentioned wanting to expose their identities so soon, but given the look of determination in his eyes she knew he had a reason for the choice.

"This will change everything." Viperion reminded Chat, earning a look in turn that Chat understood exactly what he was saying.

"What hasn't changed already?" Chat Noir asks rhetorically, "Everything has changed in the last few weeks and it's continuing to change. The reason why Ladybug had to leave was because she had no support here, and had she been allowed to do this exact thing then I know she would still be here."

"So this is about Ladybug?" Ryuko's lips thinned out, "She isn't here Chat, so why are you stuck on things she would and wouldn't do? Hawkmoth was defeated, she could have come back here to Paris to help but she hasn't."

It rubbed Chat the wrong way, and as much as he knew it was Kagami under the mask and understood her as a person it still didn't make a difference. He felt his own lips thin out to match hers, felt his tail twitch in irritation.

"The connection that Ladybug and I have because of our kwami's broke earlier today." Chat Noir tells Ryuko slowly, "It was enough to make Plagg worried. It doesn't help that her civilian persona is no longer answering her phone. She's gone silent."

The rest of the group fell silent at the news, unsure what it really meant that Chat Noir and Ladybug's connection broke. Truthfully the only ones who truly understood the bond between the miraculous of creation and the miraculous of destruction were the holders and kwami's themselves. To the others it was explained that the two were two halves to a whole, the yin to the yang. They balanced the each other out.

"Maybe she renounced her miraculous?" Rena offered, trying to ease Chat Noir's growing worry.

"There's not a chance she would Alya." Honeybee tells her, gaining the surprised look from Rena that she knew her identity.

"You know my identity?" Alya really looked at Honeybee, and the realization slowly settled in. "Chloe?"

"I know all you identities, just like Chat Noir and Ladybug do." Honeybee clarifies, crossing her arms and a sigh leaving her lips as she looked at Chat. "I think we should just tell them who she is, they'll understand why we are worried."

Chat Noir took a deep breath and looked over at his teammates, knowing right now in this very moment everything was truly going to change. There was no going back and he could only hope that when Marinette discovered that he shared his identity and they shared theirs that she wouldn't be mad.

"Kagami, Luka, Alya and Nino..." Chat Noir paused as he looked at each one of the other holders, glanced at Honeybee who gave a nodded of encouragement and a go on motion. "You know Honeybee as Chloe, and you also know me as Adrien. You also know Ladybug as Marinette."

He stopped right there to let that settle in, and the only one who wasn't surprised was Luka. Kagami barely showed she was surprised, where as Nino had a look as if everything suddenly made sense. Then there was Alya, who looked torn and Adrien knew it just added salt to the would she was trying to mend with Marinette. He knew how it felt to discover Marinette's identity and realize exactly how many wrongs you've done to her and also realize she's your role model.

"Now you see why I worry why our connection broke." Chat Noir whispered softly, "I can't feel her or Tikki, neither can Plagg."

"You don't think she..." Alya trailed off, not being able to finish that question because she didn't want to think of the what ifs. Anything could had happen, but Marinette had truly gone through an ordeal losing her parents.

"We don't know what's happening." Honeybee admits, "After our father's were arrested we didn't check in, and I'm not even sure if she knows what is happening her in Paris because if she did I know she would have called me. We haven't heard from her since she left back to New York."

Viperion was frowning, because he knew Marinette. He knew that she was a kind soul, and that she was resilient. She was strong and loyal and kind. Even when she was knocked down, she stood back up, but then again she lost her parents. That type of tragedy can destroy a person from the inside out, and he knew that she left because she had comfort in New York. She had someone she cared about deeply there, and he would be the one to know.

"Have you tried to contact Peter?" Viperion asks, unfazed by the identities of everyone else. It was expected honestly, and he would have been surprised if they had been anyone else then who they were.

Honeybee shook her head, "No, we haven't." She looked around the city skyline, sighing softly as she felt the lateness of the night in her bones. She was growing tired as the minutes ticked by, and maybe that was because of the chill in the Autumn air. "Can we go back to the hotel and finish this discussion? It's cold and I'm about to hibernate."

Ignoring the weird looks she gotten from the rest of her team (it was still weird to her she had a team), Honeybee took off back towards the hotel she grew up in. She knew that Chat Noir was following behind her which meant that the others weren't far behind. They still had a lot of things they needed to catch up on, things they needed to talk about and clear the air of. It would be a story to fill them in on the truth about Marinette as Ladybug and her being the new guardian, how her father and Adrien's were mixed up in the crimes of Paris. Even more so about the kwami's and everything else Chloe hardly wanted to think of in that moment.

With ease, Honeybee landed on her bedroom balcony. Even with her father being arrested, his assets were all still being looked at. There was a big possibility that he would lose the hotel, and that she would lose the only home she ever known. It was one of the things Chloe kept to herself for now until she knew for sure what was to become of the hotel she truly did love, and that was because there was a few rare moments that her parents were a family to her. As sad as it was, she did hold onto those rare moments with everything she had.

"Buzz off." Chloe mutters softly under her breath as she walks into her room, feeling the separation between her and Pollen as the transformation ended. She knew that Pollen was going to get honey the moment she flew off.

Behind her, Chloe heard the others land on her balcony and drop their transformation . Turning around she came face to face with Adrien, Luka, Kagami, Alya and Nino. It was a different feeling she felt, because as much as she knew they all made the same mistake (except Luka and Kagami), it also couldn't be held against them if they were making a difference. Even Chloe knew that marinette would forgive them if she hadn't already.

"So these are Paris's other heroes."

The statement caused Chloe to whirl back around quick enough to give her whiplash. It was a voice she never heard before in her life, and it was once that certainly did not belong in her room this late in the night. Her blue eyes were surprised to find none other than Tony Stark sitting in her room with a tired look, and next to him was someone she did recognize- Peter.

"Not to be rude, but why are you in my room?" Chloe asks, eyebrow quirked up and arms crossing over her chest. "Why aren't you back in America?"

Tony pointed at her and stood up from the seat he had made himself comfortable in, "Funny you should ask that actually. It's the reason why I'm- we're," He points between himself and Peter, "Are here."

Peter took a step forward, his brown eyes looking over the friends Marinette had in Paris. They were part of a life he was still trying to wrap his head around that she had, trying to put the puzzle pieces of Marinette together to figure her out. Then his eyes fell on the blonde teenager that he knew was Chat Noir. He was the main person who was Marinette's superhero partner, and for some reason that made Peter feel weird. It was weird knowing she worked closely with someone else who was also male.

"It's almost five in the morning Mr. Stark." Chloe quipped, "You couldn't possibly wait until normal hours to have this conversation? Much less outside my room?"

"You're in a literal meeting right now." Tony retorted back, shaking his head. "And no this couldn't wait. I knew who you were, by luck the whole team is here which makes this easier-"

"Marinette is missing." Peter blurted out, wincing when all heads turned towards him.

"Kid, next time you have to ease them into in and then rip the bandaid off." Tony sighed, it was too late now. Cat was out fo the bag. "Because of certain circumstances, the Avengers would like to house you all in New York to train while we locate Marinette. She was a target, which means you are all potential targets as well."

"Wait, you can't just drop news like that and expect us to just pick up ours lives and move on. What about Marinette, do you know if she's at least okay?" Nino says, bewildered at everything happening tonight. He just needed sometime to process this all, and probably so much needed sleep.

Tony shrugs, "We have a good idea on who took Marinette, and currently we are trying to locate that individual. Like you said, it is really late so I would really appreciate it if you can all just get your things ready and come with us to New York in the morning after sun rise."

"And what, train with you?" Luka questions, "Who took Marinette and why are you so nonchalant about it?"

"Kid," Tony rubs his hand over his face, "It's been a long week. I'll explain everything more after some sleep and on the way back to New York. It's because Marinette's identity was made before she even came to New York that worries us about your safety here. From what Marinette told us, the miraculous can't fall into the bad guy's hands. It's bad enough she's missing, imagine the rest of you? I've already sent emails to your parents that you were selected for my internship in New York, and too let you know they all graciously accepted."

"Expect Luka." Peter reminded, "He was over the age limit here."

"He's still going to come." Tony says, fixing his gaze on Luka. "The more we have helping look for clues, and training to potentially help get her back, the better. The truth is that we still don't understand much about the miraculous and kwami's, but you do. You might be able to see things we might optionally look over."

Chloe yawned, "Personally I don't care about leaving. Paris's has become calm and I am parentless, so I have nothing to lose. Adrien is coming to because we're on the same boat. Marinette is also our friend, and I'm just not going to let her go missing and be a picture on some milk carton. "

"Chlo that was harsh." Adrien sighed, his worry even worse now. Then Plagg has to fly up into Tony's face.

"It's a cat pocket god." Tony muttered as Plagg got in his face.

"So you're the reason why kwamis were exposed, as well as Ladybug and Chat Noir." Plagg hissed distastefully, "You caused a lot of problem not only for Marinette and us, but now Marinette missing is just another to add on the list. If we don't find her and Tikki, I promise you'll end up like the dinosaurs."

"What?" Peter says, not even sure what the cat kwami was saying. Dinosaurs?

Plagg ignored him and went to sit with the other kwami's, where they were discussing the current situation in front of them. It was something Plagg couldn't and wouldn't ignore for once, because this time the stake was Tikki. Even if kwami's couldn't feel love, they had a sense of love for their holders and each other. They care if their holders lived or died, and how that would effect the given kwami.

"We need to do what is best for the Guardian." Wayzz tells the other kwami's and loud enough for their holders, "My last holder was the pervious guardian, and Tikki's holder is the last guardian currently. Us kwami's can't afford to lose her, not after all she has done for us."

Trixx nodded her head in agreement, "I agree. I also believe our holders should go to New York, not only for their safety but also to help find the guardian."

"Marinette needs to be found." Plagg's serious tone was enough to let the other kwami's know that it wasn't a choice anymore. "That way we can find out why our bond broke and we don't lose our last protector."

Adrien looked at Tony, "Chloe and I can leave easy to New York, but what about our education?"

"Private teachers." Tony simply answers, "I can't just put a group of Parisian teens in a school as transfer students. It would be easier to train you and keep you educated all under the same roof."

"The high school where I go isn't worth the experience." Peter added, thinking how he was looked down on by the other students, especially Flash. It wasn't like he was sensitive to it, honestly he was used to it by now, but he wouldn't want other people to be subjected to that right off the bat.

Luka's eyebrows were furrowing the two American in front of him, trying to piece something together. What it was, well he wasn't sure yet himself. His eyes settled on Peter, and knew that this was the guy that made Marinette feel safe. He was the one that had been there for her all these months, and he was the one who had Marinette's heart. Seeing the worry in Peter's eyes, Luka knew that he truly did care about her.

"We know Tony Stark is Iron Man, but what is it that you do exactly besides know Marinette?" Luka inquires, tilting his head slightly seeing Peter take a deep breath.

Sharing his identity was something Peter wasn't really use to yet, he hardly shared it unless he needed too and given the situation Peter was sure that this was one of those times. Then again Tony also showed up in his home knowing who he was too, so he didn't really tell anyone besides Ned. Then of course Aunt May found his suit, and that had been a whole other conversation.

"I'm Spider-man." Peter tells Luka, watching as he nodded and took the answer at what it was.

"That doesn't surprise me." Chloe muttered softly, since at this point nothing was really surprising anymore.

"What was your super hero name again?" Peter asks Luka, turning to look at the artistic older teenaged..

"It's Viperion."

"Oh, like the Pokémon? That's pretty cool man." Peter could appreciate a pop culture fan.

"Not very original though." Tony added his own two sense.

Luka frowned, "What? Pokemon?"

"Oh my god, Luka's hero name is the same as a Pokémon name." Adrien whispered softly to himself.

"You're idiots." Nino mutters, "It's name is Vaporeon not Viperion."

Tony clapped his hands, " Yeah that settles it. Let's all get some sleep so we can get things in order with your things and go back to New York. The sooner the better."

With that Tony and Peter went back to their room in the hotel and left the other five teens alone to digest what just happened and what was going to happen in the morning.

Marinette thought she had hit rock bottom before she ever went to New York, but she was far from wrong. This was hell, or at least what she imagined it to be if it were real. She had to have been here for months, it felt like that but realistically she had been here almost three weeks. Three weeks of nothing but different tests that messed with every nerve in her body. She knew they were pushing her as far as they could, and she let them. There was nothing she could physically do, not without a repercussion.

On the third day here she thought of opening a portal to Stephen's, but she also knew that was something Lucas didn't know about her. She couldn't put Stephen or the time stone at risk, she had already caused too much damage. Yet she was learning while she was here what exactly The Foundation was.

Lucas's main goal was to reshape humanity, to enact a man made natural selection of those he saw fit to thrive in this world. She had spent hours listening to him rant on about how humans were killing the world, and they could fix it. They could fix it by eliminating those who didn't fit his vision. Marinette had also learned that Lucas had worked with HYDRA before, and that he was intelligent in science to a degree. Which got him in touch with an organization called the Red Room.

"Natasha Romanoff finally ended Dreykov, but there are still people loyal to him and the work he was doing. It was evolutionary."

Marinette still wasn't sure of how she fit into this plan of Lucas's , or what it was he wanted from her. He wanted evolution, in a sense. Yet evolution was something Marinette didn't want to be a part of, but these test they ran here on her blood and the things they injected her with (whatever the hell it was), was supposed to be this grand scheme of making better humans. Which in turn would make a better world. Somehow it would miraculously better global warming and end world hunger. Yet there wasn't a single molecule in her body that made Marinette believe it would work.

Her brain hurt from the different electroshock therapy given to her, and time was blurring together. Her days turned to nights, her nights turned into days and then eventually everything seemed timeless. She thought she knew what it was to lose herself, but no. Right now she was losing sight on who she was, because never in her right mind would she think of taking another life but right now she was learning. She was learning that sometimes the enemy needed to be taken out permanently.

The thought scared her at first, but Lucas had taken so much from her. This organization needed to end, as well as everyone involved. They were a threat to the balance of the world, to herself and her team, to the miracle box and to the kwamis. As guardian, she couldn't allow this. She would't let anyone get hurt because of her anymore, not when she could make a difference. Every choice has a consequence, she learned that as well. A good or a bad choice will always have an effect on someone. It was just a matter on if the sacrifice for those consequences in question were truly worth it.

"You know it would be easier if you just gave in to his wishes right?" Nadia's voice breaks Marinette's thought process as she walks into the room where Marinette was kept strapped to a steel table. The straps themselves were infused with a technology that shocked her when they sense her trying to use her new powers. More of a safety precaution for those around her. "You keep resisting and it won't do you any good."

Marinette curled her fingers into a fist under her restraints, "Just strap me up to the machine already or poke me with the needles I know you have. I don't feel like chit-chatting with you."

Marinette turned her head away so she didn't have to look at the woman who was head of her treatments. Sometimes the treatments left her tired, or dizzy, or sick and very rarely she felt nothing. Marinette still didn't understand what it was they were looking for, and didn't understand the scientific talk they would have about her blood samples and how it was a unique code.

Nadia's brown eyes flickered up from her clip board to Marinette, "Your personality is changing. Is that just a defensive tatic of yours or a side effect you're experiencing?"

A scoff left Marinette's lips, "A side effect? It's a bit more of a result of your treatments, or what I like to call experiments."

"Personality changes are common after great loss-"

"Can you just shut up?" Marinette asks, "I would really rather you do your job and not talk to me. Makes my day the tiniest better."

Nadia didn't say anything else as she sat down at the computer stationed in the room and logged in. Pulling up Marinette's extensive file, she started to log in the day and the time. Every once in a while would her brown eyes glance over at Marinette, who still refused to look at her in the slightest bit. Shaking her head, Nadia began to type in Marinette's behavior she was observing and adding in the smallest differences in Marinette's personality.

"Am I going to be kept in here forever?" Marinette finally asks after a long period of silence.

"Possibly." Nadia says, typing the last of what the login required and opened a drawer with some viles and needles that was next to the computer station. "I'm actually here to test some other things on your immune system."

Marinette frowned at that, turning to eye the vile warily. "What are you going to inject me with this time?"

Each injection left a different feeling, or sometimes they plagued her sleep with nightmares she couldn't wake up from. Sometimes it felt like she was burning from the inside out or made her feel like her lungs were full of water. It was never the same and always different, each time a bit more intense than the last.

Nadia turned back to face Marinette, shot at hand and feeling a twisted sense of satisfaction seeing the wary expression on Marinette. She tauntingly looked at the shot and then back at Marinette, offering a sweet smile of mocking reassurance as she began to struggled in her restraints.

Nadia flicks the glass lightly, "Night night Marinette."
